Welcome to the Hammer Heritage Page. Let me introduce myself. I am Donna Mae Mabelle Davis, nee Hammer. I am the daughter of Clarence Harper Hammer and Fluta Sylvia Storey Hammer. I was born in Zimmerman, Sherburne County, Minnesota on 13 Feb. 1930. It was a cold, blustery Winter day. My Father had to pull the Doctor's car out of a snow bank with a team of horses. If I had waited one more day to be born, which would have been on my parent's Wedding Anniversary, the Doctor would not have been able to get through the blizzard to help my Mother with my birth. I am the third child out of a family of five children. My younger sister, Shirley Joyce passed away on 2 Feb.1989, my Mother on 26 Jun 1994, and my older brother, Harvey Roland on 29 Aug. 1997. I am going to create a list now starting with my Father's parents descending down to the youngest as I have them. Hopefully someone out there will be able to help me fill in the blank spaces. Especially need help with any information on my Grandfather's (Hans Gunder or Gunderson Hammer) parents and siblings from Kongsburg, Norway.
