Okay folks... it's high time I updated this web page dedicated to Queensr˙che. There's only one problem however... the band that I loved so much is no more. Well they're *there* but you wouldn't recognize them any longer. A couple years ago Chris DeGarmo got fed up with the internal nonsense and took the long walk away from the group and they're no longer the brilliant masters they once were.
There has been countless discussion about this in numerous forums all across the internet and in music circles, but the bottom line remains... without Chris adding his essential chemical element, they are finished as the band they once were.
After dragging their feet for what seemed like ages, the band finally dredged up a guy named Kelly Gray to fill in Chris' spot, and after several report from the Q2K tour, the vote is in on Kelly.... he blows.
As an album, Q2K is perhaps their poorest release in the band's nearly 2 decade history. Some have speculated that Geoff Tate is too wrapped up in his new wife Susan, and her ruining the once-mighty Queensr˙che fanclub. While I'm not sure about that, what I do know is that this incarnation of the group leaves much to be desired.
Nevertheless.... I still love the old stuff and treasure the many friendships I've made with other fans worldwide over the last few years. As I'm writing this I'm giving Operation: Mindcrime a full listen yet again, so the old spirit is here around me. Pamela Moore is singing her part of 'Suite Sister Mary' at the moment and it's STILL one of the best, if not THE best rock operas ever recorded.
To start off with, here are some pictures taken at the Dallas Texas concert, August 16th, 1997. I was there with some good friends from the #queensryche channel on Undernet and even a few who flew in all the way from Australia to join us.
I'm also going to add a PHOTO PAGE here to share all the Queensr˙che pictures I've collected over the last couple of years, so go check those out too and enjoy the great times gone by. - Dana
