Summary of Episode

Dawson movie wins a prestigious film festival award, but his first major accomplishment as a filmmaker is overshadowed by the disintegration of his personal life, as Joey continues to pull away, his dad gets his own apartment and Jen spirals out of control. Meanwhile,Pacey has nowhere to go but up after his guidance counselor paints a bleak picture of his future, but in a moment of crisis, a newly focused and inspired Pacey rises to the occasion and proves that Andie's belief in him is well-founded.

Quick Thoughts

It just doesn't make sense for Joey to love Dawson, admit it, then go out with another person when she needed to find herself. Finding herself doesn't include another person as far as I am concerned. I have lost all respect for the girl, it seems she just came up with the lame excuse to give her a chance to find out what Jack is like.

Character Development

Dawson

Dawson just keeps getting the short end of the stick. It seems its non stop pick on Dawson. Dawson the lonely, the super nice guy, can't impress Joey enough to get her to come back. What a look he gave Jack when he saw him coming to her house. Dawson must be going through a dificult enough time, but to see Jack there, going after his love, its just heart breaking. Pacey and Dawson began the episode talking about how nice of a guy Dawson was. Which makes the statement of Joey's in last season, nice guys don't always get the girl. At least he has one thing to be proud of, he won the movie festival, as least his life long dream is becoming reality.

Joey

Well, we can definately see that Joey has become more hated than Jen. It just can't get any worse. She lies to him about where she was going(though it wasn't any of his business), from the beginning wants to be friends and have it back to the way it was, and then after her night with Jack, goes back to Dawson's house only to find out he is gone. Did she go there to tell him about Jack, or to profess her love for him. I hope the later, but probably not. This show is turning more into reality everyday. Its true you can't always have a happy ending, but Joey needs to make up her mind. First she wants him so much, then gets him, does nothing but b*tch at him, then kisses another guy, wants his forgiveness. So Dawson gives it to her, but she then says, its about me. I need space, I need to find myself. But then goes for the other guy. Last time I checked, space didn't include other people. But, the writers needed to make the audience hate her till she goes back to Dawson. Its only inevitable.

Jen

Her character is rapidly evolving, becoming better and better. Yet they continue to put her in ugly clothes, don't comb her hair, put ugly makeup on her to make her look revolting. It appears, she likes this partying stuff. It also appears she is over Dawson. She said Dawson was so far on the rebound he was bounching. I hate to see her throwing her life away though. Its one thing to party, but drunk everynigh, sleeping over at other people's house for fear of Grams, and threesomes isn't very good.

Pacey

It seems to be getting redundant. Whenever somebody needs help, Pacey is there. What a great act with Andie's Mom. At least he is starting to care about his grades, a good influence from Andie no doubt. Its bad to see a counselor insult him though, the are supposed to be there for guidance. Yet he continuosly puts him down. No wonder he thinks he is a loser, its true what Andie says, they treat you like what you put out. His image of class clown, bad grades, never going to amount to anything is rapidly changing. Everybody knows he can do better, and finally he is starting to see himself.

Andie

Andie's influence is having great effects on Pacey. But she is a major control freak. All she wants is to control everything. One day I believe it will come back at her. She is trying to do too much. She is in a denile similiar to her mom. She denies the fact that her mom isn't getting better, thinking she is in total control. She also is trying to control Pacey's life, helping him get on the right track. And in the last episode, she always wanted to be in control.

Jack

The dork returns. This time he comes back with some brains. He watches the weather channel and knows all about lightning. He is really in love with Joey it seems. His dat(not a typo, thats what he called it) with Joey was such a big move on her. It seems he doesn't care about her space, and it seems Joey has forgotten as well. In addition, he has put himself before his mom. This shows that he is selfish, more than Joey. I have begun to really dislike the character, he just doesn't deserve Joey. But I believe Joey doesn't deserve Dawson anymore, until she finds out for good what she really wants.

The Leery's, Grams, Grams, Bess, others

Dawson's Dad sure did want to be friends. He moves out, Dawson takes it kind hard, but in the end, he realizes that its his Dad and he has to support his decisions. Chris returns, the big eared freak from the rich side of the creek. It appears Jen has befriended him and has been partying for awhile, even threesomes with people. Andie's Mom is getting worse as well. Apparently, she goes off in the middle of the night to the store, and mumbels and causes comotion about her husband and dead son. It seems she is not getting any better.

Questions?

What is up with Joey. He reasons for breaking up with Dawson were good, probably could of been justifiable, but not when she goes on a semi date with another person, plus allows him to kiss her. Its obvious that she just needed to think of something to get out of her relationship with Dawson. Maybe her reasons were legit at the time, but her actions do not justify the means. After kiss this episode with Jack, what does this mean, are they going to be dating now, rather than just "hanging out". And why did Joey go to Dawson's room at the end of the episode. What was she going to tell him? Was it that she was confused and was now going to be with Jack, or that she really misses Dawson and wants him back. What about Jen, what does Grams think about her not coming home. Does Jen tell her she is staying at a friends house or what?AAAAHHHH, No Previews for the next episode. My guess is that this was the last series of episodes shot this summer, I believe all the WB shows will take a break, probably till Christmas. Maybe we will actually see a season change finally.Ah Yes, its official, according to the DC Website, December 2 -"The Kiss" (repeat) - 8 pm reruns next week. The season will start over probably till the point we are at now and will then begin to show new episodes. Not the best place to break, but its a break no doubt.

Previews for Next Episode

No Previews. But here's some predictions. Joey continues to see Jack and finds she really likes him and doesn't know what to do. Dawson will become even more upset and will say some wrong things to Joey to make things worse. Jen will begin to shapen up a little, but will still be a party girl, just not as much. Pacey and Andie will have sex in the near future, guaranteed. And Mitch and Gail will try to work out their differences. Can't Wait.
