Strange Concern - Bruce V. Bracken's All-Purpose Poetry Thing

For Alma Kidd and Her Daughter, Hope)

Where is Hope now
What number of her generation
Is held for ransom, sequestration

Where is Hope now
When does she get the Constitution
That's forced open for prostitution

Who's got Hope now
Bound, beaten without understanding
Reunion a jury's demanding

Who's got Hope now
Punked out and scarred with cigarette burns
All for an Agency's strange concern

Who seeks Hope now
Her Mother, to wrest her from the claws
Of those who abjure The Rule of Law
