Boeing 747 Skids to a Halt

Kuala Lumpur (Reuters) A Malaysian Airlines Boeing 747 from Tokyo skidded when landing in Kuala Lumpur on Saturday evening and came to a halt on the grass at the end of the runway, the airline said in a statement.

None of the 318 passengers or 21 crew was hurt and the plane was not damaged, according to the statement, issued by the official news agency Bernama late Saturday.

After the landing at Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah Airport in Subang outside the capital the jumbo jet was positioned at the parking bay and baggage taken off.

The statement gave no reason for the incident but said it had been raining.
