"Awesome class! Very easy tests. Professor is very cool because he is still young. Highly recommend!!!"- Student - Grade: A
Davis
"Can you say '25 point curb?' Can you also say 'Necessary?'" - Student - Grade: A
"BORING! That about sums up the whole semester. Always gives very large curves on the test but that is because he has to. More that 25% of my class failed. I even went to every class. I have never had a problem with History until I took Davis. If you have to take him for a class take the second half 134. He basically lived it so he make it interesting, kinda like your grandpa telling you old stories." - Student - Grade: F
Devine
"This class was very difficult! Don't take him unless you want to spend time trying to learn an infinite amount of obscure details from a large block of text. He gives boring lectures and only 3 tests: 25%fill in the blank, 75% essay. The essays were easier to prepare for. Good luck on the fill in the blanks. Take him if you can't get anyone else!" - Student - Grade: A
"This guy was a hoot! He's kinda old, and kinda ecentric....but it adds up to an interesting class. He makes his lectures interesting and even throws in a WWW project for some change (cause let's face it....History classes are usually nothing but boring lecture classes). His exams are eassy and short answer; but before you get all bent out of shape, let me tell you: they're not hard. I opened my book a total of maybe 5 times the whole semester, and I made a B. Just listen in class and you'll do fine. Highly Recommend!" - Student - Grade: B
Jones
"I put this class off until my junior year because I hated 134 so much. Jones was great! He's gets excited about his lectures so it's easy to pay attention. His tests are fill in the blank, but if you study they aren't hard. He's an extremely nice man. It's nice to have a professor who actually seems to enjoy what he's doing. I highly recommend him. In fact I'll be retaking 134 with him. I made a D in it with Davis.!" - Student - Grade: A
McGrath
"Lots of extra reading (unnecessary reading). She stresses the history of women just a little too much. Be prepared to write nonstop during class. She gives very boring lectures fit for insomniacs. Usually a test or quiz every week, and you even have to write essays. Easy but there is a lot of work. I never studied and got a C." - Student - Grade: C
"She is a bitch who never shuts up. We had to read 4 extra books for her class, attend lectures, etc. She is extremely boring, and her tests very detailed. My sorority sisters and I even studied her old tests, and we still did horrible. She is the worst teacher you can take. She wants to know dates, times, people, their significance, how they contributed to later events, etc, etc. . Don't take her class, even if you are desperate." - Student - Grade: F
"I have never studied so hard for a course in my life. Mcgrath is a very good teacher and there are plenty of chances for extra credit at the end of the year. You do have to go to class to get good lecture notes. The tests are very hard and studying is vital. I was very content with the C that I got. There is a lot of reading but I found the books to be quite interesting. The book test are what helped me keep my C because you actually have a study guide. At the end of the semester she regards highly on attendence. There are a few chances to make up bad quiz grades by taking other quizes to take its place. If you don't understand something go and talk to her because that might also influence your grade." - Student - Grade: C
Sanborn
"Very,Very, hard but interesting. If you like reading this is the man for you. None of the test are multiple choice, so get you thinking cap on. 18 essay questions to be exact, but you only have to do 15 over them. "Wow". He is a very good teacher who will make you think, and actually make history interesting. I would recommend this class to a student who loves a Challenge." - Student - Grade: C
"HARD! I do not reccommend anyone for this class, unless of course you like to read 24/7." - Student - Grade: F

Bills
"This is one of those large lecture classes. If you do not get the materials needed. You will get behind. Stay informed and go to class. He's a cool guy! It's worth it." - Student - Grade: B
"He is a very good instructor. As long as you attend class, the test are easy. He hands out test review sheets that have every question you need to know for the test but it is up to you to find the answers. If you take decent notes then you are ok. I would recommend his class to the average student. He is very undersanding and fair in grading and with make up tests." - Student - Grade: A
Brophy
"I really liked his class. I never read the material. Just listen to the lecture and take good notes--you'll do fine. There is an extra book to "read", but he gives you a hit list--just use the index. I made an A on all the test. " - Student - Grade: A
"Alright, I have heard of profs who think they are God but never this bad. The man is so pompus that he uses his own book that he wrote. The trouble is that he can not teach so the book that he writes is not much better. His style is very scattered and random. He expects you to know every little detail about 125 years of history. I would suggest a different prof if you can avoid him! Just because he used to be the president of the campus does not mean that he can stay up on his high horse forever." - Student - Grade: Dropped
Davis
"OK! I have heard enough about Davis!! Davis RULES =P I made an A in his class and it was the easiest and imho most interesting class of the semester. Yea he sits on his desk, but he let us skip class and he *always* let out early except for a few times. The tests was multiple choice btw <-- best kind One thinga tho... attendence is *VERY* important for exams cos his written exams are a huge huge pain. I made my only 68 ever on his written. And don't take the extra exam either. Thas jus my advice from experience and watching others. If he tells you to read something, it probably means he's going to have a pop quiz next class on the material."- Student - Grade: A
"VERY BORING!!" - Student - Grade: F
"Dr. Davis is a great man, and this shows in class each day. He wants for us to do well. I like that." - Student - Grade: C
Dr. R. Jones
""EXCELLENT" PROFESSOR. THE ONLY THING IS THAT HIS EXAMS ARE FILL IN THE BLAKE AND SHORT ESSAY.(HE HAVE OLD TEST FLOATING AROUND SO YOU SHOULD DO WELL. I'M NOT THE SMARTEST COOKIE, BUT I ENDED UP WITH A 102 AVG. ALSO, HE'S LISTED AS STAFF NOT UNDER HIS NAME. HE'S A GREAT TEACHER YOU CAN GO TALK TOO ABOUT ANYTHING."- Student - Grade: A
Lowery
"She doesn't teach here anymore, but Tommie Jan Lowery was the best history teacher I've ever had. She made everything easy to understand and was always willing to help during class and in her office. I hear she's still around SFA doing something or other. You can't take her for classes, but those of you who had her know what I'm talking about."- Student - Grade: A
Olsen
"This professor is one of the best I have ever had!! She is always VERY prepared and her lectures are on things that interest the students...not straight from the book. She is also willing to work with all students on testing times due to conflicts. VERY FAIR!!!"- Student - Grade: A
Sanborn
"HARD. VERY VERY HARD. His test are NEVER multiple choice. All you ever do is read. Not recommened at all........" - Student - Grade: F

Dahmas
"The subject matter was extremely interesting but the tests were very difficult. It was hard to supply the details he required in the amount of time given for the tests. He gives weekly quizzes that can help bring up your grade. If you take good notes and study you'll pass. If you devote your entire semester to this class, you may make an A." - Student - Grade: B
"If you blow one test, it is over. But study the notes and get hsi test out of the reserves...they help alot. Just write down all lecture notes and know all the points and how it effected history, and you wil make a B. Know everything and you will make an A." - Student - Grade: C
Deanne Malpass
"Dr. Malpass is a great teacher. She Makes the ancient world seem so alive. She adds humor with her very deep knowledge of western civ to create a very entertaining and rewarding class. The tests are kindof long, but the film reviews are easy." - Student - Grade: B
"DO not take her. She does not believe in anything higher than a "C". Her lectures are unorganized, and it seemed like we repeated information over and over again. I really tried at the beginning of the semester to do well, and i even talked to her about improving my grade. After the second test, i stopped trying and made "C's" the rest of the way through. I even skipped class a lot. Her tests are difficult--be sure to read the captions to the prictures when you are reading the book--they will be on the test!" - Student - Grade: C

Hines
"American Diplomacy is probably one of the easiest upper level history class you can take. Dr. Hines holds discussions each class, and be sure to participate so your class participation grade is not bad. He is pretty interesting and knows his material well. There are group (class) tests and one individual project. The class tests weren't hard, but be prepared to spend some time with the individual project. He is retiring in a year or so so take him while you can." - Student - Grade: B

HIS 305
McGrath
"*History of Science* This class take a lot of time during the semester. It is true that she makes you read much material for each test, the final is comprehensive, and there are two or three books reports due. The thing is that she does want you to learn the material, and cares how you do. It does help you to talk with her. So, if you really like science and have a lot of time to devote to one class, then take it. She is a good professor, and I would say the class is worth it." - Student - Grade: A

"Have to read material. If not, you'll fail...bad. Otherwise, it's pretty easy. I had an A and then didn't study for one test so my grade went down a letter!" - Student - Grade: B

"Classes are informative but boring! Tests are too far apart and too much information is to be studied before. No review so you don't know what to study. He is confusing and makes sure to leave you that way. Wouldn't recommend unless no other teacher is offering it." - Student - Grade: C

"Not US Military history, but Western military history. Must like French history to take this course, but all in all a good class. Tests are fair, some take home papers, some are mixed in-class. Good course." - Student - Grade: A

"Dr. Blaufarb is really cool, and you can tell he really wants his students to learn the material. We had mostly essay tests, in which he would give us a question and we would provide support for our answer. There was one book required for the class, and it wasn't too boring. I recomendthis class." - Student - Grade: B

T. Davis
"I loved this class. It is the most challenging History class I have ever taken at SFA, and my last History class. More of the History classes should be challening and fun like this one. Dr. Davis is a very nice man and a very good teacher." - Student - Grade: A
