Thomas R. Allison

Thomas R. Allison was born in Gurnett County, Georgia in 1847. He enlisted, as a volunteer, February 10th in the 16th Georgia Cavalry and became 2nd Sgt. Thomas was captured at the battle of Morristown, Tennessee October 26, 1864. He was released from Camp Douglas, Illinois under oath of Allegiance at Chicago, Illinois June 16, 1865. Thomas moved to Texas in 1876 and became a broom maker. He died in 1920 and is buried in the Confederate Cemetery, in Dallas.
