Why Does God Make Rainbows??

Why does God make rainbows
To dance across the sky?
Why does He melt colours
To melt within our eye?

Why did God paint mountains
So many vivid hues?
What was all the reasons
He used so many blues?

The answer is, I know
That God sees beauty too.
He brushed against the canvas,
And created me and you!

The Walk
I walked on day, to praise my Lord.
He came to me where the boats are moored.
Thousands there were, but a strange thing still
He took my hand as we went down the hill.

He spoke to me in a gentle tone
Saying, “blessed are those that give on their own”.
You came to worship; no thing to receive,
For this I am grateful, your burdens I relieve.

The walk was short, just barely a mile,
But if it were 500 , still I would smile.
Thus it was here, that I came to be,
On the day that my Lord came and walked with me.

Tears there were, and songs of praise
To God in Heaven we will see someday.
But the songs I sang; I sang out strong,
Were to Him whom was with me and helped me along.

He showed me great wonders of past and not yet,
Of multitudes fed with no cast of the net,
Of Peter and Andrew, James and John,
Fishermen all, but of their Lord very fond.

Jesus opened my eyes past my own empty life
Taught me to see something other than strife.
For this I march and praise His name.
Worship God among us and pass the flame.

I know a song of ten thousand years past,
But Glory it was and glory still,
That we can be with the Lord on this hill.

So, I praise His name and offer my life,
So that others can have something more than strife.
And then it will be, when they walk with me,
The day that their Lord will set them free.

(This poem was written in June 1993 after arriving home late in the evening after the March for Jesus in Seattle, Washington....thousands had turned out with banners and colors honoring the Lord.....it was an awesome experience for me and one I will never forget....even the sails on the boats were festooned with words proclaiming God and Jesus.....it took only 20 minutes for me to pen these words through the tears of Joy that ran down my cheeks.........there was only one version...what you see here...our God is an AWESOME God!)

Roads and the Bridge

There is something about roads that came to mind
And a bridge that was there at the dawn of time.
The bridge is the Christ; the saviour of men,
The roads are the way we come to Him.

In Noah’s time in days of old,
The Ark is the story that we are told
Lost in the tale of God’s mighty zoo
Is the road that brought them tow by two.

With the staff of the Lord pointing the way,
Moses led Israel out of Egypt that day...
The Lord in front, an Angel by flank,
God’s road Israel marched; only Him could they thank.

In later times when wise men were told,
“The Saviour is born...to Him bring gold”.
God gave a sign; a bright shinning star
And a road was provided to traverse from afar.

When Jesus walked and preached among men,
Spreading the news He would die for their sin,
It was roads He used from town to town.
Bringing us closer to God’s holy crown.

The road to the Skull; the place of the dead
Where Christ bore His Cross; the lamb was led.
It was here the long road came to and end
nd the Bridge was formed, through Christ, for men.

So today when we are drawn to God
The road is there for us to trod.
And when we seek Heaven over the ridge,
We know Christ gave His life.......but lives, as the bridge!

(In the Garden of Eden, Adam and Eve walked and talked with God freely...He loved them and they Him.....but Satan deceived them into thinking they could eat of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil...and there was an IMMEDIATE chasm that separated them from God......No longer could man walk and talk with God freely.....offerings and prayers were the only way to commune with our Creator.....until Jesus became the bridge over that chasm of separation from God.....now...through Jesus, we can openly walk and talk with God once more.......)
