Note: Page 638 of "The Heritage of Tate County Mississippi", 1991, says that he emigrated from the German Palatinate, arriving in New York in 1710, aged 40, occupation listed as husbandman and vine dresser [there is still a Preslar winery in the Rhineland], with his wife Anna Christian Franz Preslar, 3 sons and 2 daughters. He came by way of Holland, then England. One son died during the first harsh winter, while living in a tent.
He was a Lawyer, Farmer and Carpenter, known as "Justice Joshua". He was a Magistrate in Suffolk Co. for many years.
