How To Make ExtremeHu Skins

Getting Started and some basic Measurements
-------------------------------------------
Okay, these are the measurements for each and every screen that Extreme had skinned with the skin packs. What I did was open each screen of the green skin with paint and get the height and the width. This whole howto will be based on making skins with paint as it is readily available to everyone in windows. On the screens you are about to create the best thing to do is get all your background images on first then create the boxes. This way its ready to go.

Main
----
700 X 581 Pixels (Total size)

You need to go to image and attributes to set this. This is your working size for the main screen. Keep in mind though that some of what you put on there will be hidden by the program boxes.

Okay now, in the bottom right hand corner of paint there is an x and a y location for the position of your mouse pointer on the sreen. Move the mouse around, notice that 1 number is for vertical, the other for horizontal. This is important because I will be referencing these throughout this readme.
------------------------------------
The main screen has two basic boxes.
-------------------------------------
The position of the first box is on the right side and The Bottom right corner of it is at (661,434). That is the x and y. Put a pencil dot here with the pencil tool. Now the top left corner of it is at (438,65). Using the box drawing tool, position the mouse over these coordinates and stretch the box to the pencil dot that you made. Now at the top left hand corner of this box use the text tool to write EEPROM INFO. See the green skin for an example.

The next box will be under this one. The bottom right corner of this box is at (659,515). Use the pencil tool and place a dot here. The top left corner of this box is at (440,437). Using the box tool drag a box from that point to the pencil dot. In the top left corner of this one with the text tool write PPV PURCHASE INFO.

If all went well in these steps you should have your main screen done. Save this to a directory on the desktop. This directory should be the name of your skin. Save the file as a 24 bit bitmap file and name it Main.

--------------------------
The Hex Screen
--------------------------
291 x 266 Pixels Total Size

Again the measurement should be your maximum work area. This screen only has one box. The bottom right corner of this box is at (258,163). Using the pencil tool place a dot here. Now go to the top left corner at (23,21). Using the box tool again drag a box from that point to the pencil dot that you made earlier. With the text Tool, Label the box that you drawed EXTREME HEX COMMANDS. This will be in the top left corner again. Save this file to the folder on your desktop as a 24 bit bitmap and call it Hex.

--------------------------
The PPV Screen
--------------------------
284 x 326 Pixels Total Size

Once again this is your work area. This screen contains two boxes as we all know. The first boxes bottom right hand corner is at (246,147). Using the pencil tool, place a dot there. The top left corner of the box is at (31,73). Using the box tool drag a box from this point to the pencil dot that you made. Label this box in the top left corner PPV WIPE OPTIONS with the text tool.

The next boxes bottom right hand corner is at (246,235). Put a dot here with the pencil tool. Then go to (32,160) with the box tool and drag a box from there to the pencil dot. Using the text tool label this box in the top left hand corner Custom Options. Save this file to the folder on the desktop as a 24 bit bitmap and save it as PPV.

--------------
The Act Screen
--------------
313 X 384 Pixels Total Size

This screen has only one box. With the pencil tool, place a mark at (291,302). Then take the box tool and go to (14,128). Drag a box from there to your pencil mark. Label this box in the top left corner with the pencil tool, ADVANCED OPTIONS. Then save this file to the desktop folder you created as a 24 bit bitmap image and call it Act.

-----------------
The Area Screen
-----------------
283 X 308 Pixels Total Size

This screen has two boxes. The bottom right hand corner of the first is at (256,147). Using the pencil tool place a dot there. Using the box tool go to (17,12) and drag a box from that point to the pencil mark. Label this box in the top left corner AREA OPTIONS.

The Next box has its bottom right corner at (254,216). Place a dot there with the pencil tool. Using the box tool, go to (17,170) and drag a box from there down to the pencil dot. Label this box with the text tool in the top left corner ADVANCED OPTIONS. then save this file as a 24 bit bitmap to the desktop folder and save it as Area.

-------------------
The Settings Screen
-------------------
597 x 525 Pixels Total Size

This screen is the toughest one. It has Four boxes and one of them has two boxes inside of it. I will save the toughest for last.

The first windows bottom right corner is at (202,101). Place a pencil dot here. Now go to (21,20) and drag a box from there with the box tool. Drag to the pencil mark. Label this window in the top left corner MESSAGE WINDOW.

The next windows bottom right corner is at (202,197). Put a pencil mark here. Now go to (21,116) with the box tool and draw a box over and down to the pencil mark. Label this box in the top left corner EEPROM WINDOW.

The next box's bottom right corner is at (579,344). Place a pencil mark here. Now using the box tool go to (21,287) and drag a box from there to the pencil mark. Label this window in the top left corner DEFAULT AREA SETTINGS.

Now for the tricky one. Its really three boxes but we will break them down. First we draw the large box. Place a pencil mark at (579,197) This is the bottom right corner. Now using the box tool go to (212,20) and drag a box to the pencil mark. Label this box in the top left corner LOADING SETTINGS.

Now inside this box we're gonna draw two boxes. The first's bottom right corner is at (390,187).Place a Pencil Mark there. Now using the box tool go to (222,59) Drag a box from there to the pencil mark. This box does not have a label.

The next box's bottom right corner is at (572,187) Put a Pencil mark here. Now go to (400,59). Use the box tool to drag a box to the pencil mark. This box also does not have a label

Now to finish it off in the Top Right Corner of the large box that we put the two small boxes in use the text tool and type EXTREME HU.

Save this file as a 24 bit bitmap image in the desktop folder you created. Call it Settings

--------------------
The Finished Product
--------------------
Copy the folder on the desktop to the Extreme Hu Skins folder. Now open the Extreme Skin Creator by Shao and select new. Set the skin name to the same name as your folder name. Please use same capitalization on this. now change the bitmap directory to your folder.
For example: \Skins\Readme\

Please make sure to uses the same caps here also.

Now go to select colors and slect all of your colors. Now go to file, save as, and type your exact folder name including caps for the name to save as. Save it in the extreme hu\skins directory. You're done

you can now go into extreme and select your skin.

Hope this helps someone out there and if I can ever help any of you guys in any other way dont hesitate to try me. I may now know the answer but I'll find someone who does.
