Part 2

As a sad Larek stood staring at the sky, he heard a gasping noise behind him and turned around to see Tess, totally out of breath.

“What on Earth was th--,” Tess started to say, then a look of realization came over her face.

“Oh my God, the Granilith.  Serena took off in the Granilith…with m…my son,” Tess stammered, in total shock.

Before Larek could say anything, an angry voice boomed, “What the hell happened here?  Where is my wife?”

Larek gulped and turned to face Khivar.  Khivar was definitely pissed.  His piercing black eyes were cloudy, his huge and powerful hands were tightly clinched into fists, and his square jaw was set.  Larek couldn’t help but be scared of the man, not only were his powers strong, but he was over seven feet tall and weighed over 200 pounds.  He, however, was a little over six foot and probably weighed 180.

“I, she, um, shit,” Larek stuttered.

Khivar turned to Tess and asked, “Well, Ava, can you tell me what happened?”

“Serena, she took Rafe and… and Kyle.  She took off in the Granilith.  Khivar, she has my son!” Tess cried angrily through her tears.

While Tess explained to Khivar what happened, Larek ran away as fast as he possibly could.  ‘Dammit, Khivar is gonna kill me and it won’t be pretty.  I just hope Serena makes it to Terra safely,” he thought as he ran.

Serena stood in the Granilith clutching Rafe and Kyle, while praying her ass off that she had gotten the coordinates right.  ‘If I’m off by too much, we could land in a big city or on an army base.  God, please let me be right’ she thought to herself.

“Mommy, are we almost there?” Rafe asked with wide eyes.

Serena smiled and nodded as she studied her son.  Rafe was four years old, but impressively smart for his age.  He got that from his mother.  He also shared her red hair, fair skin, and dazzling smile.  She, however, had green eyes, while her son had his father’s bright blue eyes.  Serena could feel her eyes tear up at the thought of Larek.  She prayed to God that Khivar would not kill him.  All of a sudden, the skip started beeping, signaling Serena that it was about to land.

“Hang on kids, we’re landing,” she said to the two boys.

Meanwhile, Liz Parker and Max Evans sat in Max's brand new Jeep Wrangler, making up and making out.

“I’m so glad we’re together again, Max.  I love you so much,” Liz sighed as she held Max tightly.

Max smiled and replied, “I love you too.  I just wish that things could have been different, that we never would have fought, that I never got involved with…her.”

Liz pulled back to look Max in the eyes and said firmly, “She still would have killed Alex, Max.  She still would have betrayed us.”

He sighed and started to speak when he saw something coming towards them.

             “Liz, look at that!”

             “What is it?”

“I don’t know, but it just landed.  Let’s go check it out.”

Max started the Jeep and drove to the landing site.

“Max, does that look like what I think it is?” Liz asked, amazed.

He just nodded and the two jumped out of the car and walked up to the Granilith.  Without warning, the door opened and out stepped a beautiful red head holding two small children.

“Well, what do you know, I am a genius,” Serena said, obviously pleased with herself.

Rafe noticed Max and Liz and said,” Mommy, there’s two humans staring at us.”

“Shit!” Serena exclaimed as she turned to face them.

As Serena and Max locked eyes, a spark of recognition came across both of them.

            Serena, dumbfounded, whispered, “Zan.”

“What did you call him?” Liz asked.

“I didn’t call him anything, I said sand.  Its really sandy here,” Serena said nervously.

The human couple raised their eyebrows and Rafe gave his mother an odd look, but decided against saying anything.

“So…are you from my planet?” Max asked, since he could think of nothing else to say.

Serena thought for a moment and replied, “Well, yeah. Born and raised on Earth, just like you two, I hope.”

Max and Liz exchanged a look and Liz said, “But you landed in… a spacecraft of some kind."

‘Damn, why do they have to be smart? Why can’t they be gullible, like Tess?’ Serena fumed.  “I know, isn’t it a total trip?  I found it in the middle of the desert in Arizona.  My dad was a mechanic and I took after him, so I figured out how to fix it.  The technology is far more advanced, though.  I don’t exactly know where we are, where are we?” she babbled.  'Where the hell am I getting this from?'

Max studied Serena for a moment and finally said, “You’re in Roswell, New Mexico.”

             “Wow, it really worked.”

“Yeah, I guess it did.  I’m Max Evans by the way, and this is my girlfriend, Liz Parker.”

Serena shook their hands and said sweetly, “I’m Serena Davis.  This is my son Rafe and my son Kyle.”

Rafe raised his eyebrows at his mother and mumbled, “You better explain this to me later, Mother.”

“Your sons?  You can’t be more than 16,” Liz said disbelievingly.

            “What can I say?  I didn’t feel like waiting,” Serena explained, ” I’m 15, Rafe’s 4, and Kyle is a month old.”

             “Where’s the father?” Max inquired.

“Actually, he lives here.  His name is Brody.”

“Brody Davis?!?!?!?” a startled Max exclaimed.

“Yeah, hence the last name Davis.  I was just visiting my father’s gravesite in Arizona and was on my way here when I stumbled across the flying thing.”

“Are you two married?  He’s so much older than you!” Liz exclaimed.

'Why do they have to know him? I’m beginning to miss that idiot Tess!’ “Well, y’all must have noticed how he’s been gone for a while.  We hadn’t talked for a year or two, but he stopped by to visit several monthss ago and the sparks went flying all over again.  Two weeks ago we eloped in Las Vegas,” Serena said quickly, not even believing herself.

“Really.  Are you Sydney’s mother also?” Max asked skeptically.

“Oh no, she’s his first wife’s.”

“Oh, okay.  So, um, do you want a ride to your house?”

“Why, thank you Max.  I would really appreciate that.  Just let me get my things,” Serena said as she walked back into the Granolith.

"What am I going to do?” she muttered to herself miserably.

“She did what?!” Kathana screeched at Larek.

“Let me get this straight.  Queen Serena fixed the Granilith, kidnapped Ava and Zan’s son, took her son, and flew in the Granilith to Terra.  Is that it?” an amazed Sero said.

Larek nodded and replied, “Yeah, that’s just about it.”

“My God!  I don’t care if I promised her parents that I'd never hurt her--when I find that child I’m going to kill her!” Hanar ranted while pacing back and forth.

“Its not that bad…” Larek started to say.

“Not that bad?” Kathana exclaimed incredulously.  “Do you have any idea of what that asshole husband of hers will do to you and her when he finds you both?  What he’ll do to us?  Knowing Khivar, he’ll probably figure that we were in on it and he’ll kick his attacks up a notch!”

Larek sat down in his chair and covered his face with his hands.  ‘What am I going to do’ he thought miserably.
