ABOUT THE SHOW

It pretty much all started in 1999. Damon Wayans and Keenen Ivory Wayans have failed in previous shows...Damon failed with "Damon" which was cancelled after only 13 episodes on the FOX network while Keenen's "The Keenen Ivory Wayan's Show" was also cancelled. The brothers decided to take one more chance with tv...so they each went forward with developing their own family-oriented sitcoms to take to television loosely based on their own lives. Thanks to a million dollar signing bonus Damon will write, direct, produce, and star in "My Wife and Kids". ABC produced 13 episodes for a mid season show...while Keenen is still working on his show "Not The Brady's" for the WB.

"My Wife and KIds" is filmed in front of a live studio audience at Walt Disney STudios. The first episode began filming on Friday November 3rd, 2000. You could get tickets to the show on the internet offered at This Site and you could go and watch the show. Unfortunately, season 1 wrapped it's final episode on March 13th, 2001...so you'll have to wait until season 2 to order your tickets and go see the show.

Now the first episode aired on March 28th, 2001 with promotion beginning during the 73rd Oscars...which had 800,000,000 viewers. And "My Wife and Kids" premiered on the same night as an hour long back-to-back segemnt of two episodes prior to a new "What's wrong with this episode" of Drew Carey and also followed by another new show starring Dennis Leary called "The Job". This Wednesday night line up was given the name :"Wednesday Night D-Day".

The first epsidoe was a smash in the Ratings with over 10,000,000 viewers in the US alone. The second episode had even higher ratings. Episode 3 and 4 continued successfully even agaist other networks successful shows.

So it's most likely that the ratings will continue the same. ABC will probably renew the series with a second brand new full season. Full seasons can usually have up to 22-26 episodes...so I am looking forward to each and every one of them.
