ELIMINATED FROM ALPHA

ISAIAH
ELIMINATED FROM BETA

DAN

Dan doesn't submit his questionnaire in time and therefore is eliminated.  But did he have any idea who the mole was?  Isaiah didn't, and was eliminated from Alpha.  Only eight remain and it's time to really challenge the contestants.  This week's challenges are meant to be confusing and to add more complexity this episode there is a great chance that they will be ending with less money than they started with.  But as some of the contestants lose their team spirit, the host offers a team bonding motivation.  As always each challenge that is won adds money to the kitty.  But this week, for each task completed successfully and faster than the opposition, the team will win an extra $15,000.

CHALLENGE ONE: JEOPARDY

The first challenge is all about risk.  Each of the contestants are given the first in a list of various increasing dollar amounts.  This dollar amount is how much will be taken away from their team's kitty if they aren't lucky.  They can ask the host to 'deduct more' if they wish or 'stop' at that amount.  If they decide to deduct more, they will be given a larger dollar amount and that may be taken away from their team's kitty.  This process continues until the contestants want to stop.  If any team member is lucky enough to stop on the very last value in the list of dollar amounts, they win $35,000 for the kitty.  If none of the team can stop on the very last value, all the values the team stopped at will be added together and deducted from their total.  In the event anyone goes past their last dollar amount, they lose the highest value in their list.  In this challenge the group can win $35,000 or maybe lose up to $30,000.

The first value in Blake and Sharna's list is $2,500.  Justin and Nick have just $500.  Mike and Daniel start off with $1,000 while Steve and Billy are given $1,500.

Justin is the first to respond.  He risks losing money from the kitty and deducts more.  His next value is $2,000.  Steve also decides to risk the Alpha kitty and deducts more to the value of $5,000.  Risking losing at least $5,000, Steve decides to deduct even more.  His next value is $10,500.  Steve could be deducting a lot out of the Alpha kitty or could be close to winning the $35,000.

Daniel is the first from Beta to decide on what to do.  His risk amount is at $4,500.  Nick and Sharna are slightly confused about the challenge.  Billy goes and deducts more, and like Steve, raising his risk amount to $5,000.

Mike takes a risk and deducts more from the Alpha kitty as well.  His next value stands at $4,500.  Blake, the last of the Alpha team to react deducts more, bringing his value to $6,000.  Steve makes a decision and is the first one to say stop.  If $10,500 is the last value on his list, he earns the group $35,000.  If not, $10,500 is deducted from the Alpha kitty.  It is the last value and he has not only won $35,000 for the Alpha kitty, but a further $15,000 for completing the challenge successfully before the Beta team.

The Beta team continue on.  Daniel decides to deduct more, but unfortunately for him he has passed the last value in his list.  $4,500 will be deducted from his team's kitty unless someone can say stop at the right time.  Billy tries stopping at $5,000.  He stopped to early meaning $9,500 could be taken away from the Beta kitty.  Nick deducts twice more and is sitting on $3,000.  He stops, but its way too early, increasing the Beta deduction to $12,500.  Beta are fully relying on Sharna to come through.  Sharna claims that she is sick and she doesn't participate in the challenge.  So her starting amount ($2,500) is also added to the deductions.  Nobody from Beta could stop at the right time and therefore they lose a total of $15,000.

With Beta's loss and Alpha's win, the margin between the two team's increases by another $65,000.

CHALLENGE TWO: FACE LIFT

The teams are asked to pair up with someone they can trust.  Justin and Steve go together, leaving Blake and Mike as the second Alpha pair.  The first pair for Beta are Nick and Billy, with Sharna and Daniel making the second pair.  The contestants are about to face the weirdest challenge yet.  The pairs have to divide themselves up into two roles: the plastic surgeon and the critic.  The plastic surgeons job is to create a face for the two in the other pair.  They are to find the perfect sets of eyes, nose and mouth which represent the other two team members.  They are not allowed to tell them which body parts were assigned to which contestant.  The critic in each of the pairs must determine which three face parts were assigned to them.  The goal for the critic is to get at least 2 out of the 3 parts correct.

But winning the game isn't as easy as that.  Different scenarios bring out different outcomes.  If neither critic is able to identify at least 2 parts which were assigned to them, the team will lose $5,000 for every incorrect guess between both critics - This could be up to a $30,000 deduction!  If both critics are able to identify at least 2 parts correctly, the group win nothing for the kitty.  If one critic is able to identify at least 2 parts correctly and the other one doesn't, the group are eligible for the $60,000.  However one member from the pair whose critic identified the parts correctly will be given a chance to win a free pass.  The $60,000 will only be won after one of the pair has earnt the free pass.  If the challenge isn't completed, the team automatically are fined $30,000.  They aren't given any more instructions at that point.

Steve quickly assigns Justin to be the plastic surgeon in the pair.  Nick assigns himself the plastic surgeon and Billy the critic.  Daniel and Nick sends in the various body parts for the two critics to guess.

In the left set of pictures, Daniel assigned three parts to Billy and the other to Nick.  In the right set, Nick assigned half the parts to Daniel and the other to Sharna.

Billy thinks he was assigned the three parts on the right.  He has two correct and for the group to win the challenge, Sharna needs to guess less than two correctly.  If she does this it will give either Billy or Nick a free pass to the final episode, cutting down her chances of getting in.  If she guesses more than two, the group win nothing.  If she doesn't participate, the team will lose $30,000 for not completing the challenge.

Mike sends in his body parts, but only sends in one set.  Justin sends in the faces for Mike and Blake.

The confusing challenge hits both teams hard.  Mike didn't send sufficient body parts in for the critics to have their guesses while Sharna was just one email away from winning the group a much needed $75,000.

As neither team know how well the other team is going in the challenges, Beta are completely unaware that they are trailing by $185,000, with just one episode to go.

Alpha's Kitty
$  195,000
Beta's Kitty
$   10,000

With the last episode nearing, the group share their thoughts about how they would feel if they were eliminated just before the final episode:

Billy: "If i were eliminated now I'd feel not as bad as being eliminated earlier, I
mean I don't know why I'm here.  I thought daltonique was the Mole the whole time..  Now he's gone so If i make it to the next episode I think I have a good chance at winning.  But that damn Sharna has me so confused.  If dan isn't the Mole i am 100% sure it's her..."

Mike: "I will feel frusterated with myself for making the wrong choices. I hope I win, everyone in the game hopes they win, but I think I will get Emliminated this round though because I haven't kept my eye out for mole activity, i have been trying to work on getting money for the pot."

Daniel: "I would be really disappointed if I was eliminated at this stage. Probably because I made it so far last series, makes me feel nothing but a win will be acceptable. I am more confident about who I think the mole is this time around than I was last time."

Justin: "I'd feel pretty stupid, having come so far, and yet missed out at the last minute. But on the other side of the coin I'd feel good as well knowing that other people didn't even get as close as I did, but if I was eliminated I'd like to see Steve win out of our team"

Nick: "Quite dissapointed - I think I have played the game more strategically this time!!! I have been more open to change and my tactics have worked for me! The players have also been more competitive!!"

Steve: "Well of course I would at first be very dissapointed.  Still, I never
really thought I would make it this far in the game and to make it to the pentultimate episode in itself is an achievement. I've really been very lucky to this point.  From what Isaiah and Dave have told me after they were eliminated, they picked me as the mole...this has probably helped me get this far in the game somewhat. Still, I am sure it is Justin.  Another thing which happened this week
is Robbie and others posted their opinon's on the board...I know who Robbie thinks it is and it's the one person I thought I was sure it isn't - Mike. I'm really hoping he is wrong ;) But, what a journey this game has been.  For the last month or so, I've been glued to the computer on weekends doing some of the funniest stuff...from the team anthem song, to 'interesting' cartoon art..it's been great. Well, I'm sticking to my guns.  In my mind, the clues support it being Justin, he's been acting right, and it's the choice which will either make or break me.  If I'm in next week I hope I win..if not, I hope that Blake wins if he in't the mole ;)"

Sharna: "Very upset cos i am the only chick left!"

Blake: "I'd be dissapointed, just as anyone else would, but it wouldn't be that big of a deal.  It's just a game, and if I'm eliminated, I'll be happy knowing that only 3 people played the game better than I did.  I'd also like to say good luck to the remaining players, and a congratulations to the mole."

The questionnaire results are marked and the final group are announced.  The six of them move on to Episode Eight.
