Bent Dreams
by Wren

Xander couldn’t believe it. She was leaving. He was sitting up in bed with a
sheet wrapped around his waist, watching Anya pack.
“It was just a little slip Anya,” he pleaded “ you know I love you. It won’t
happen again, just please come back to bed.”
She threw a brush at him and hissed, “Little slip! Xander, you said his name
during sex.” She was fuming, “Again.”
“What “ he squealed?
“Oh Please, you think I haven’t heard you? Do you really think his name sounds
like ‘sweet’? Get real Xander.” She threw the last over her shoulder as she left
the room.
He gathered the sheet up and followed her to the living room.
“Anya, I... I am sorry. OK? Just please don’t go.” He was worried now. He really
thought she had believed him when he had tried to lie about it in the past. He
would groan Spike's name as he came, having been picturing the bleach blond
while inside her.
When she asked him what he had said, he’d reply that she was sweet. But she knew
so what would she do? Would she tell the others?
“Anya, where will you go? What are you going to do now?” He asked trying a
different approach.
“You don’t have any place to go baby. Just stay, let’s talk about this.”
He had to duck as the remote came flying his way.
“ I have places to go. Oh yes I do. You know Xander, one thing I have learned in
my time as a human.... is that as a girl with one of these,” she pointed to her
crotch, “I can get as many of those as I want.” She pointed to his scantily clad
groin.
“Anya,” he was stunned. He knew she was blunt but this was ridiculous. “Is that
all this was to you? I really do have feelings for you.”
Come to think of it when he had made that whole ‘better person for you’ speech,
she hadn’t replied, just kissed him, and then more sex. (To which he had called
out Spike's name again.)
“Ah,” he threw up his hand “fine, go then.”
“I will, maybe I’ll try being gay for a while, it seems to be working for
Willow.”
Then she was gone. Walked out the door. Leaving Xander alone. He hated being
alone. He sighed as he walked back into his bedroom. Alone.
As he lay back down and closed his eyes, it wasn’t Anya he thought about. It was
short blond hair and light blue eyes that followed him to sleep.
And Xander slept. Alone, with a smile on his face.
