Trapped Between Two Rocks

His fingers gently touched her hair as she kissed him. The night seemed to be perfect, the stars swirled around her, creating some sort of picture in the night.

She was beautiful.

The whole night had been like magic, and he had a feeling, it was just all about to get better.

“Want me to walk you home?” she asked, looking into his eyes.

He pulled back and frowned. “What?”

* * *

He stood behind the tree smoking a cigarette calmly. Something about the night was so intriguing. It was as if it had called out to him. Had begged him to come.

So he had.

And there he had been, enjoying the song of the night when, some, not so happy couple ruined it.

“Oh come on! Do you always have to throw your testosterone around?”

“What is that supposed to mean?”

“Do you always have to be such a ‘man’ about everything?”

“I am a man.”

“Bloody hell,” Spike sighed.

“Oh yes. That’s right. You’re a man. Well you know what? Go off and do what men do best!”

“And what’s that?”

“Uh. Be alone and, do stuff!”

The sound of a set of footsteps storming away caused a smile to creep up on Spikes face. If anything could already improve his night, it was playing with ‘white bread’ or having a night of ‘words’ with the slayer. He smiled and stepped out to find an angry Buffy standing clueless in the road.

“Did G.I. Joe get bored?”

“Great,” Buffy mumbled.

“Aww,” Spike sighed. “Did the cardboard get stiff?”

“You’re a pig Spike,” Buffy snapped.

“I may be a pig, but at least I know what keeps a woman happy.” He wiggled his eyebrows at her.

Buffy opened her mouth and then closed it. Finally she snapped at him. “Get out of my sight.”

“Or what?”

“Or I’ll…” her voice trailed off into thick anger.

“Ohh. I struck a nerve.” His lips twisted into a grin.

“Right. I don’t see Dru tagging along on your arm,” Buffy spat. She smiled and moved back gently.

“Right. Like I want to be with her anymore. You can only be sane with Dru for so long,” he hissed.

“Ohh. I struck a nerve.”

“Bitch,” he hissed.

“I hate you,” she growled.

“And I hate you. With a passion.” Before he could finish the thought Buffy was in his arms. “Whoa, Summers, take it easy.”

“I’ll get back to you,” she snapped and spun around to find a set of vampires standing in front of her. “Of course.”

“Bloody hell,” Spike mumbled. “I’m gonna be going now…”

“Don’t you even think about it,” she spat and charged towards the vampires.

“Damn it slayer! Do you always have to be the hero? Can’t you just run away sometimes?”

Buffy started at him in horror. “No! I’m the slayer. It’s my job.”

“Yeah right, and it was your job while you were back there trying to get into farm boys pants!” Spike was grabbed from behind and yanked towards Buffy. “Ouch! Watch the hair!”

“Pig!” she hissed at him. “My hair!” she screamed and kicked the vampire in the face. “That took me an hour.”

“Ohh, Buffy the hairstyling slayer.”

Buffy shoved the vampire back, but he lunged at her, pinning her to the ground. “At-hem. The hair. Do you not care for yours?”

“Yeah!” Spike yelled. “Besides! You can’t pin her! That’s Riley’s j…” Spike didn’t finished because another vampire grabbed him and shoved his hand over his mouth.

“Ha!” Buffy yelled.

Spike shouted a curse word back at her, but it was muffled into the vamps hand.

Buffy kicked the vampire off and shoved him into a tree and reached at stake out. “Maybe this will teach to mess with the hair.” She smirked and dusted the vampire.

“Perhaps you shouldn’t talk so much.”

And the black of the night surrounded her.

* * *

Buffy’s eyes gently opened and she glanced around her. She opened her mouth to speak, but was stopped as a hand covered her mouth gently. Buffy frowned and squirmed, trying to move. The hand was strong, and held her tightly. And the thumb was inches away from her nose, it could easily be moved to stop her breathing. The black nail… Black nail?

Buffy’s eyes widened and she turned behind her to see Spike fiddling with something behind her back. She yelled into his hand, but came out as a whisper. She squirmed.

In a few seconds he carefully lifted his hand off her mouth. She took in a breath to yell, but he shoved his hand over her mouth again. He leaned into her closely. “Listen to me very carefully. We are trapped…somewhere. Those vampires, they took us. And now, I’m trying to get the ropes off your hands so we can try to escape. If you wish to scream, go a head, then you can get us caught, and killed. But if you don’t, then just sit still for a few minutes. Believe me, slayer. Trapped in the middle of nowhere is not one of my fantasies.”

Buffy felt her heart racing at the sound of Spike’s voice. She was trapped. She was alone. And the only person to help her was Spike…

“Where’s Buffy?”

“What?” Xander frowned glancing over at Riley. “You do know it’s not polite to just wander into someone’s basement like that.”

“Where’s Buffy?”

“What? Okay, she went on a date with you last night as I recall. Not me.”

“She’s gone. Her mom said she never came home last night.”

“Did you check your apartment?” Xander asked, clearly amused by the whole subject.

“We got into a fight last night, and she didn’t come home with me,” Riley sighed. “Do you think she would have gone to be with Angel?”

“Uh, I think Angel or Cordy would have called us,” Xander said. “So your serious? She’s gone?”

“Buffy, is gone,” Riley nodded. “We have to find her, before something happens.”

“Off to Giles we go then. Let’s call Willow on the way there.”

* * *

“You lost your girlfriend?” Anya frowned.

“What?” Riley snapped closing a book and turning to face her.

“Well, I’m just saying, I mean, it is your fault. You got into the fight with her, and you left. So, you lost your girlfriend,” Anya nodded.

“Come, come, perhaps we shouldn’t get into this now,” Giles begged.

“I didn’t lose my girlfriend, Buffy can take care of herself,” Riley snapped.

“Well, fine, I’m just saying, if I was the one who got left, I’d be a little angry at my boyfriend,” Anya pointed out.

“She’s right, what if Buffy blames me?” Riley frowned.

“Can I just say I’d never do that?” Xander asked raising his hand.

“And can I remind you all, Buffy is missing?” Willow snapped. “I mean we don’t know anything. We don’t know if she’d dead. We don’t know where she is, who took her or even why. She could be a million miles away from Sunnydale, or she could be sitting on top of the hellmouth with G-d knows what.”

* * *

“We should have them in separate rooms. They shouldn’t be near each other. They hate each other.”

“Look, if they hated each other, they wouldn’t be in the middle of the road together.”

“Do you know who that is? She’s the slayer. Why would the slayer be talking to a vampire?”

“Can I remind you of Angel? The whole town knows about that.”

“Ohh, slayer, you’ve got yourself a reputation around here,” Spike whispered to her ear and smirked.

“I can’t believe you. We’re trying to escape and your still teasing me, what is that all about?”

“Oh give me a break slayer, you enjoy your men bad. They just need to give to a little tease every once and awhile,” Spike laughed. “That’s probably why you and the Ken doll will never last.”

“Look, those two morons are arguing. This is our chance to get the hell out of here, and your cracking jokes? Let’s just go!” Buffy snapped. She crawled onto her hands and knees slowly pulling away.

Spike grabbed her foot. “What if the doors locked?”

“We’ll break through.”

“Looks an awful lot like metal.”

“Do you want to stay? Fine, I’m getting myself out. You and just stay here and rot.”

Spike crawled up next to her. “You’d like that, wouldn’t you? You love the thought of getting me away from you. That way you and the farmer can live your happy pretend life together. But face it Buffy, you know it won’t last. You need me to remind you, that live is full of the breaks. Face it Summers, without me, you’d be lost.”

Buffy turned to face him. She was now inches away from him and he was leaning in closer. “I don’t need anything from you. I’m a big girl, I’ll do just fine on my own. I should have killed you when I got the chance.”

“You could never kill me love. You to weak.”

Buffy pushed him back. “I am not weak.”

“Oh that’s right. You’re a big girl. A big girl who’s living in a fantasy world. All you do is play pretend Summers.” He grabbed her arms pulling her back out of sight of the two vampires. “Your heads up in the clouds. One of these days, it’s going to get you killed. And when it does, I’ll be there to stand and laugh.”

Buffy leaned into him. “When we get out of here, I’ll teach you a thing or two about growing up.”

“Why wait?”

“Ah-ha!” One of the vampires cried. “I told you they’d try to escape.”

“Of course they would,” the other hissed. He yanked Buffy back. “No one wants to stay prisoner.”

“Do you even know who I am?” Buffy spat at him.

“Ohh. The slayer. They all end up dead, in case you forgot,” the vampire spat. He pushed Buffy back to the ground.

“I keep telling you, lock them in different rooms!”

“Quiet!”

Spike punched the vampire. “How about dealing with William the Bloody? How does that sound?” He kicked the whinny vampire sending him spiraling into a wall.

The other vampire simply shoved Spike back, causing him to land next to Buffy. “Oh you just wait William. You just wait. And I’ll show you blood,” he laughed. Then to Spike’s shock, a thick, heavy, metal door slammed shut in front of him.

“There was a door right there,” Buffy said. “We could have escaped. And now, I’m trapped with you.”

“Look on the bright side, at least your not trapped with Riley right now,” Spike smirked.

“Are you jealous of him?”

“Jealous of what? Being boring and stuck with the burden of you as a girlfriend?” Spike placed his hand on her shoulder. “I’m the lucky one.”

“I think it’s time I put you in your place,” Buffy hissed.

Spike stood up and held out his hands. “Teach me pet. Go right on and teach me.”
