Those Who Started It All
Ebony stood motionless looking at her former lover that she thought was dead and gone forever. She couldn't move or talk out of fear; fear that this man that she thought was dead was going to kill her.
"Hello Ebony." the man said walking towards her. He looked the same as he did the last day Ebony saw him.
"What are you doing here? You died.....you're dead." Ebony yelled with fright. Ebony staggered backwards making an attendant to get away.
"I obliviously didn't die; I just let you all think that I did.” He paused in front of Ebony. "You of all people Ebony should know ZOOT NEVER DIES!!!"
Zoot lifted his hand and pushed away some of Ebony’s braids that covered her face.
She stood there in shock as she looked at him everything grew dark around her and then the darkness consumed her.
~Few minutes later~
“So now that the battle is over what are we going to do?” Mega asked.
“I think we need to go to the work camps and try to get everyone back to their own tribe.” Jay said
“What do you think? Mega asked as he looked at the girl who was walking with them.
“Hellooooo. Earth to Danni.” Jay said as he waved his hand in front of her face.
“Oh what? I’m sorry I was thinking.” Danni said.
“You’ve been doing that a lot lately. What are you thinking about?” Mega asked
“My old tribe I really miss them.” She let out a small laugh “All of them including Lex.” Danni said as rolled her eyes at herself.
“Wait Lex? As in the sheriff Lex?” Jay asked in shock
“Sheriff no not the Lex I am thinking of he is more than likely breaking the laws not enforcing them.” Danni said
“Danni your tribe is it the Mallrats?” Mega asked
“Yeah.” Danni said a smile coming across her face.
“Then we have someone you should see.” Jay said as he started to head for Ebony’s room.
As he opened the door he saw a man standing in the room as he looked at the floor he saw Ebony laying there. The man ran past them knock Danni in to Mega causing them both to hit the floor. Jay ran after the man he followed him out of the hotel and in to an alley way.
Some where in the city
“So where did you find him?” A young blonde woman asked looking at a man dressed in black, laying on a bed
“He was in the street passed out.” A man answered
“And you just decided to bring him here, Slade?” the girl said. “That was the dumbest…”
“Ruby don’t you know who this is?” Slade said irrupting Ruby
“No, who is it?” Ruby said crossing her arms over her chest.
“It’s Ram the leader of the Technos, and we have him.”
“And what pre tell do you expect to do with him?”
“Well the Technos will want him back and we have him, so we could sell him back to them at a very very high price.” Slade said with smile
Ruby looked at Slade and smiled.
“Stop.” Jay yelled at the stranger as he chased after the person
Zoot kept running final he ran into one of the empty buildings. As Jay ran in he was hit over the head and knocked out cold. Zoot stood over him debating on what he should do. He could destroy him right then and there, but what fun would that be. Zoot picked Jay up and took him back to the hotel he left him right outside the front doors. Zoot
went to leave but then looked back Jay was coming to. Zoot turned to leave again when he heard a voice call out
to him.
“I have heard things about you. If you ever cared for her then leave.” Jay said before passing out again.
Zoot just kept walking.
~Back up in Ebony’s room~
“I think she will be fine.” Mega said as he put a dap cloth on Ebony’s head.
“This is so unreal. I mean Ebony city leader, and Lex the Sheriff.” Danni said as she and Mega left the room.
“Yep a lot has changed.” Mega said
“We should try to find Jay.” Danni said
They headed outside.
In the country
“Are you sure you want to go back to the city Ellie?” said a girl with shoulder length curly brown hair with violet purple streaks, the front is put into twist with feathers at the ends and the rest hangs down curly. She was 5’6, with brown eyes. The girl wore a baggy black cargo pants with white stitching, a violet tube top with a black short sleeve jacket that one part crosses over to the other side and buttons her shows her stomach, her tube top is visible and so is some of her stomach; and black boots. On her eyelids she has dark green eye shadow; on her lips she wears purple lipstick. On her left cheek she had a curvy red horizontal line and two curvy red vertical lines at the top of the first red line.
“Yes I’m sure Emma; need to go back in case Jack is there.” Ellie said as she backed her things. “And besides it’s my home and the technos are done for so it’s safe for me to go back.”
“Yeah Emma, if Ellie wants to go back I think that we should let her, don’t be so a controlling geek.” A tall well built young man with blue somewhat spiky hair said. The boy wore a black and white camouflage cargo pants, a white long sleeve shirt with a red fitted short sleeve shirt over it and a blue zip up vest. Black boots and a black visor. On his face in had two black lines going down vertically over each of his eyes.
“Shut up Adam.” Emma said with anger “I’m not a controlling geek.”
“Emma I really want to go, the mallrats are my family.” Ellie said smiling. “But I would really like to have you come with me.” Ellie looked at Adam “And you to of course Adam.”
“I could use a change of scenery.” Adam said. “So how about it Em, you want to go?”
Emma looked at Ellie and Adam. “What the hell I’m in.”
“Great we leave tomorrow ok.” Ellie said smiling.
Jay was coming to again.
He put his hand on his head it was killing him. He sat up and he heard the door open behind him.
“Jay are you okay?” Danni said running over to Jay
Mega tried to help him up but Jay wasn’t ready to stand yet.
“What happened? Do you know who did this to you?” Danni asked trying to figure out if Jay had a concussion or not.
“I caught up with the guy and he got lucky.” Jay said
“Do you know who it was?” Mega asked
“No.” Jay lied.
Danni and Mega helped Jay up and took him into the hotel. All three totally unaware of the person watching them from behind so rubble.
~Ebony's room~
Ebony opened her eyes she shot out of bed. She remembered who she saw. She looked around for him but he was gone. Just as she convinced herself that it must have been a dream the door to her room slowly started to open.
Salene and Pride laid in their bed together wrapped in each others’ arms. Smiles on their faces, they were just happy to be together, but they were also happy because they had had a major part in the downfall of the Technos. Pride leaned over and kissed Salene on her head which laid on his chest.
“Are you happy?” Pride asked Salene.
Salene looked up at Pride and smiled, “The happiest I’ve ever been. And you are you happy?”
“Of course I am, I have you” Pride said “and that’s all I need.” Pride leaned in and kissed Salene on the lips.
Suddenly there was a knock on their door.
“Who is it?” Salene called as she sat up in the bed.
“Salene it’s me Sammy.” Salene could tell from Sammy’s voice that something was wrong.
“Come in Sammy.” Sammy walked into the room. “Sammy what’s wrong?" Salene asked as Sammy moved quickly toward her.
“These two people were trying to get into the mall, so Patch trapped them between the gates.” Sammy answered quickly.
“Alright we’re coming.” Pride said as he and Salene got up and followed Sammy down to the front entrance.
When both Salene and Pride reached the bottom steps they both paused at the sight one of the people they saw between the gates.
“Lift the gates.” Salene said smiling.
“But Salen…” Patch started to say.
“Patch, just lift the gates.” Pride said
Patch lifted the gates and as soon as they were up Salene walked up to one of the people.
“You’re back.” Salene said smiling. “You’re back Jack!”
As Jay, Danni, and Mega entered the hotel the person that was watching them turned and walked away.
~Old Warehouse~
“Did any one see you?” Zoot asked
“No one sees me.” Angel said as she walked up to him
“I see you.” Zoot said as she stroked her cheek he quickly turned around.
“Who found him?” Zoot asked
“Danni and Mega... they’re growing closer together.” Angel said as she took a step back from Zoot.
“You should get back before they suspect anything.” Zoot said and walked away.
Angel walked back to the hotel. She put her ear piece back in and turned it on again.
She thought to herself how she loved being a locus but she also loved being a Techno.
When the time came she didn’t know who she would choose. She would always choose
Zoot, but who was he going to chose?
She was already at the hotel it was a short walk.
She entered it was quite in the hotel most of the Technos had left to be with their old tribes. It was mostly the ones who didn’t have a tribe or felt loyalty to Jay, and Ebony that were left.
“Angel there you are. I have been looking at over for you.” Danni said as she came down the steps.
“Well here I am what’s going on?” Angel asked innocently
“A lot but the short end of it is that Jay and Ebony are hurt.” Danni said as she went back upstairs. Angel not far behind.
“Okay I will check on Jay you go check on Ebony I will be there in a minute.” Angel said to Danni as she entered the room where Jay was.
~Ebony’s room~
The Door was slowly opening Ebony got off her bed and carefully walked over to the door.
“Amber!” Ebony said as she swung open the door.
The café in the mall:
Jack, Salene, Sammy, Pride, Mouse, Patch, and Jack’s female friend sat in the café talking. Jack was telling everyone about his time while he was a prisoner of the Techno’s.
“So you didn’t come across any of the mallrats?” Salene asked.
“No, I didn’t see anyone I knew.” Jack said shaking his head.
Mouse looked at the girl sitting next to Jack. She had long straight blonde hair except for a few curly blue streaks. She had large green eyes, which she wore eyeliner in her inner eyes and there were rhinestones by her eyes. Over her short petite body she wore a long white quarter sleeved shirt, with a tight blue corset layered on top. Her legs were semi-covered by a short dark blue skirt; covering her feet were thin white sandals lacing up to her knee.
“Who are you?” Mouse finally asked after looking at the girl for a couple minutes.
“Mouse!” Salene said shocked at Mouse’s rudeness. “I sorry about that, I would think that Mouse knew not to be so rude to guests.”
“It’s ok.” The girl said. “It’s partly my fault I didn’t introduce myself. I’m Lynda, Jack’s girlfriend.”
“Jack’s girlfriend.” Salene repeated as she looked at Lynda and then at Jack.
“Yeah, Lynda and I met when we were with the Technos and then we just short of hit it off and one thing lead to another.” Jack said
“That’s great Jack.” Pride said breaking the short silence.
“Salene is Ellie here I wanted to talk to her.” Jack asked.
“No, she’s out.” Salene lied. “But hopefully she will be back soon.”
“Alright well when she gets back tell me.” Jack said standing up. “I’m going to find a room for Lynda to stay in.”
Jack and Lynda walked out of the café.
“Pride what are we going to tell him about Ellie, he thinks she is still here.” Salene whispered to Pride
“I guess that we’re going to have to tell him at some point, but hopefully maybe Ellie will be back then, so she can tell him exactly what happened.” Pride said
“Don’t sound so shocked we have some unfinished business Ebony.” Amber said as she slammed the door behind her.
“Not now Amber I don’t have time for this.” Ebony said as she sat in front of her mirror fixing her hair and make up.
“Busy with what taking over where you husband left off?” Amber said as she leaned against the wall behind Ebony.
Ebony was about to say something when there was a knock at the door.
“Come in.” Ebony said
Danni entered the room Ebony began to worry. Amber and Danni in the same room was not something that would end up having a happy ending.
“I came to check on you...” Danni started then she noticed a person in the room.
Danni raise her laser at the girl.
“Who are you, strike that I don’t care who you are just get out. You are not to be up here Technos only.” Danni said stepping closer to Amber
“Don’t worry she was just leaving weren’t you?” Ebony said with a sly smile on her face.
“Fine but this isn’t over.” Amber said and was about to leave when she turned around.
“You just better hope Bray comes back for your sake.” Amber said then left.
Danni stood there in shock she went to run after the girl to find out how she knew Bray but Ebony stopped her.
“Danni don’t. Things have changed quite a bit since you left.” Ebony said
“Taken Ebony I was taken.” Danni said her voice growing distant.
Ebony stood up to walk over to Danni. But Ebony fell back on to her bench her head was spinning.
“Ebony are you okay?” Danni asked as she helped Ebony stand and guided her over to her bed.
“Why are you being so nice to me? I have been so evil especially to you.” Ebony said to Danni.
“Tai San where are you?” Lex yelled as he walked around the hotel lobby, there were still people in there. Some were lying on the ground others were walking around looking for people. Lex himself was looking for Tai San who he had gotten separated from during the fight.
Lex couldn’t find her anywhere, it seemed like she had disappeared again. Lex looked around and noticed that there weren’t as many people that were once in the lobby were gone; many of the technos were actually gone. Lex looked around and noticed a female techno walking around. He noticed that she seemed a little worried. She had chest length raven black hair with bright pink streaks. She wore it in a half pony tail with chopsticks, the rest was braided into two pigtails, and she had some of the pink streaks pulled out in different places. She had the techno design on her forehead; she had neon pink eye shadow and black lipstick on.
Lex walked over the girl; the girl quickly turned around to Lex, and looked straight at him with her hazel eyes. The girl looked familiar to him, but Lex didn’t know where he had seen her before.
“What do you want?” the girl asked turning herself somewhat away from Lex.
Looking at the girl from that view Lex finally remembered where he had seen her before. She had been talking to Tai San earlier that day.
Lex grabbed her arm. “Where is she? Where is Tai San?” Lex asked
“Let go of me.” The girl said trying to shake Lex’s arm off.
“Not until you tell me where my wife is.” Lex said still holding the girl’s arm. The girl just looked at Lex with a stern face. “What’s you name?”
“I’m not telling you anything until you let go off my arm.”
“Fine,” Lex said letting go of the girl’s arm “so what’s your name?”
“Zoey.”
“Alright Zoey do you know where Tai San is?”
“She was taken.” Zoey answered finally.
“What?!? By who?”
“A group of people.” Zoey said. “They took a bunch of other technos as well.”
“Do you know who they were where they went?”
“They looked a lot like Locos.” Zoey answered looking Lex straight in the eyes.
Mega stood outside Jay’s room; he was there to make sure that no one bothered Jay, because he needed his rest. Mega looked ahead and saw two people coming straight towards him. Mega knew exactly who they were; they were two fellow technos Zabby and Bryce. Mega noticed that there was something different about them; they weren’t wearing their techno uniforms.
Zabby had short choppy black hair with the back died bright blue. Her make up hadn’t changed; she still wore the techno mark on her forehead, her dark red lipstick, black eyeliner, and purple eye shadow. Instead of her techno uniform Zabby wore a zip up red and black leather vest, which was zipped down a bit so that it showed the top of a white stretchy thin strapped tank top; she wore red leather bell bottoms with a purple and black skirt over it. Zabby also wore a long evergreen leather jacket. Bryce like Zabby still wore the techno symbol on his forehead. Bryce had brown shaggy hair that was tucked behind his ears. Instead of wearing his techno uniform, Bryce wore a pair of black baggy pants, he also wore a red t-shirt.
Mega sighed when the two reached him. “Not wearing your techno uniforms, I guess you will be leaving us as well.”
“Don’t think that you can get rid of us that easily Mega. We’re not wearing our uniforms for a good reason, and if you as smart as you think you are you won’t either.” Zabby said placing her hands on her hips.
“And why would that be Zabby, why shouldn’t I be wearing my techno uniform?” Mega asked
“Haven’t you noticed Mega that a lot of technos have gone missing, don’t you wonder wear they are?” Zabby responded as she tilted her head.
“What do you mean; the ones that are gone have gone back to their old tribes’ simple as that.” Mega answered
“Not all of them Mega, most of them were taken and haven’t been seen since.” Bryce said
“What do you mean taken?” Mega said worried
“You know like we did when we got to the city, but instead more than likely they will never come back. That’s why were here we want to speak to Jay about it.” Zabby said firmly.
“Why don’t you go talk to Ram or something?” Mega said worried about what might happen next.
“Well that will be pretty hard, since Ram as well is missing.” Bryce said smiling.
“What really?!”
“Yes Mega really, so do we get to talk to Jay or not?” Zabby asked, she seemed to be somewhat annoyed
“Yeah,” Mega said opening the door to Jay’s room “of course.”
Bryce walked into the room followed by Zabby. Halfway through the doorway Zabby turned back around to Mega.
“Oh and Mega I thought you should know that your little crush Tai San was taken as well, too bad.” Zabby smiled evilly and then walked into the room closing the door behind her.
Mega stared at the door with a blank expression on his face, people were going missing; Ram, other technos, and even Tai San. Who was taken them and why? The only thing Mega was sure of was that people going missing was only the tip of the iceberg.
“Ebony you need to rest, besides how do you know I’m not just being nice to get something from you?” Danni asked as she sat down on the bed with Ebony.
Ebony just looked at her and both girls began to laugh.
“The truth.” Ebony said
“Or what?” Danni asked
“Don’t test me Danni.” Ebony said
“Ebony you take everything to seriously.” Danni said getting up from the bed
“You use to, too.” Ebony said as she sat on the bed
“Well after I was taken by the chosen then saved by Mega. I realized no matter what I do things will always happen no matter if we enact laws or arrest people." Danni paused and thought for a second.
"While we're on that the subject of the sheriff. He isn’t our Lex is he?” Danni asked trying to hold back her laughter from the thought of Lex being sheriff.
“Yes, he is. One of my smarter ideas.” Ebony said
Both girls began to laugh again.
“So anyway...” Ebony said wanting to hear what Danni had to say
“So...That’s it. I mean I thought I was going to die and I realized that nothing I had done mattered all my hatred, all my love, none of it mattered to anyone except my friends. But my stubbornness had taken that away from me I was stupid to be brave on that beach and try to go and help Bray. I probably could have help more being in the mall with the rest of the mall rats than being away from them. So I don’t worry as much I take care of the people I care about and I think before I act.” Danni said as she looked out the window and looked at the city.
“You should get out of your techno uniform.” Ebony said.
“Why? Plus I have nothing else but my Techno uniform.” Danni asked
Ebony got up and walked into her closet
“Cause we are going to the mall.” Ebony said as she threw Danni some cloths.
Danni just stood there holding the cloths. She never thought she would see the mall again.
Not even when she came back to the city.
“Let me go!” Zoey screamed as Lex pulled her into the mall. “I told you what you wanted to know, now get the hell off of me!”
“You’re not going anywhere until I’m fully finished with you. I want to know everything about Tai San being take, when, where, and what the people looked like.” Lex said as he pulled Zoey up to the café.
“I wonder what Siva would think if she knew that you were so concerned about another girl.” Zoey said as she tried to pull away from Lex.
“You leave Siva out this is between you and me.” Lex said turning quickly to Zoey
“Lex what are you doing?” Salene asked as she came to the stairs.
“It’s none of your concern Salene, so move out of the way.” Lex said as he tried to get past Salene.
“If it happens in the mall Lex then it’s my business. So who is she and what’s going on?” Salene said placing her hands on her hips.
“I’m Zoey and your friend Lex here has decided that its my fault that Tai San is gone and he wants me to tell him everything I know, even though I have already done that!” Zoey said still trying to get herself free from Lex.
“Lex let her go.” Salene said but Lex still held on to Zoey’s arm. “Now LEX!” Looking at Zoey and then at Salene with face full of anger and then finally let go of Zoey’s arm.
“Thanks, I’ll be going now if you don’t mind.” Zoey said and started to walk down the steps. And then stopped and saw to people standing at the mall entrance. “Oh great more people I guess you all are going to make me stay here. Hello Ebony.”
“Zoey what an unpleasant surprise, is your sister Zabby and her dog Bryce here as well?” Ebony said as she glared at Zoey.
“It’s nice to see you too Ebony and no Zabby and Bryce at the hotel trying to talk some sense into your little boyfriend Jay.” Zoey then looked behind Ebony and saw someone standing behind her. “I see that you’ve brought someone else to help you out. Hello Danni how are you?”
Danni stepped out from behind Ebony. “Hello Zoey, it’s nice to see you again.
Salene stepped toward Zoey with a shocked look on her face. “Danni you’re alive!”
Outside the Mall:
“Everyone just back up; we will let everyone know what is going on shortly!” Dee screamed at the crowd that stood in front of the mall.
“We want to know what’s going on now.” A city kid yelled back at Dee
“Is it true that the technos are finished?” Another yelled
“Are the taken coming back?” more yelled
“I will tell you as soon as I know.”” Dee yelled trying to calm the crowd down
“We want to know, we want to know now!” the crowd started to chant.
“Need some help Dee?” Dee turned to see tall slim girl with long blonde hair that reached the middle of her back. Her hair had red streaks and was put into a high ponytail. She wore dark denim low rise jeans and a silver belt with a dark red shirt with one long sleeve and the other sleeve is cut so it shows her shoulder. She also wears purple boots. Her left eye has a red triangle going from her hair line to her bottom lashes, and her right eye has two gems on the side of it.
“Definitely, Brooke. I just can’t get them under control usually they are very easy to get under control, but their just out of hand today.” Dee said sighing.
Brooke looked out over the crowd and cupped her hands to her mouth. “OY.”
The crowd stopped talking and looked at Brooke.
“I want all of you to clear out of here now! There is no reason for you to be standing here when you could be waiting for your love ones to come home at your homes. So all you clear out.”
“But we want to know….” A city person was saying but was cut off by Brooke.
“Like Dee said they will let you know what it going on as soon as everything has settled and we know everything.” Brooke said and then looked at the crowd that just stood their not knowing what to do. “I said clear off! NOW!” Brooke yelled and then crowd slowly started to walk away.
“You always knew how to get a crowd moving.” Dee said with a laugh
“Yeah, well that was just the beginning of it Dee. There’s going to be a lot of trouble now Dee, and I’m sorry to say but you mallrats might get most of the trouble on the account of Ebony.” Brooke said
“I know and that’s what I’m afraid of.” Dee said nodding her head.
“Hi Sal.” Danni said holding her head up proud.
“But how we all saw you die on the beach.” Salene said
“No Sal you all assumed I died. None of you came to my aid. I just came here for my things.” Danni said anger and hurt clear in her voice.
“Danni...” Salene started
“Save it Sal.” Danni said as her and Ebony walked by.
~Danni’s Room~
“I have to admit I didn’t think you had it in you.” Ebony said as she helped Danni pack up her things.
“I didn’t think I had it in my either.” Danni said feeling a bit guilty
“What are you doing here?” Amber said as she walked into the room.
“I could ask you the same thing.” Danni said still not knowing who this girl was.
“My Tribe and I live here.” Amber said crossing her arms looking definitely at Danni.
“Your tribe I don’t think so Bray is the leader of this tribe.” Danni said
“he and I use to co-lead but he was taken by your people.” Amber said
Danni stood there in shock. Could this be Amber she thought to herself.
“Come on Ebony I have everything I need here.” Danni said as she picked up her two bags and a box.
Ebony grabbed the other box and went to follow Danni. Amber stepped in front of her.
“You’re not going any where till you tell me who you are and return the stuff you have taken it’s not yours.” Amber said.
“Not now Amber” Danni said
“How do you know me?” Amber asked
“I know more than you think” Danni said and walked right past her.
Trudy walked into the building that was now the city hospital; she looked around and couldn’t believe how crowded it was that day. It seemed that every person who had been injured during the techno fight. Trudy looked over and saw Hawk, taking care of a little girl that was crying. Trudy walked over to Hawk, but didn’t say anything, because she wanted to hear Hawk speak to the little girl.
“Don’t worry sweetheart we’ll find your sister, I promise.” Hawk said gently
“But what if you don’t?” The little girl said crying
“I will I promise.” Hawk said as he wiped away her tears. “Judi come here.” Hawk said calling another Eco over. Judi walked over to him. “Can you find this little girl’s over sister, her name is Lisa.”
“Of course.” Judi said. “Why don’t you come with me?”
“Ok.” The little girl said taking Judi’s hand and walking away.
“That was really sweet of you Hawk,” Hawk turned around and faced Trudy.
“Trudy I didn’t know you were here.” Hawk said surprised but happy to see her.
“I just got here. I was hoping to help out.” Trudy said smiling.
“That would be great we could use the help.”
“So where should I start?” Trudy asked
“There’s a girl about 14 maybe 15 in exam 6. She was zapped on her right arm while she and her friends were entering the city. She’s not hurt to band, the laser wasn’t on stun so she was lucky.” Hawk answered
“Ok, that seems good.” Trudy started to walk away.
“Trudy wait.” Hawk said calling her back
“Yes Hawk?” Trudy said turning around
“I…was wondering if you would like to have dinner with me after we finish her, cause it could be late.” Hawk said quickly.
