Submission Information

What we publish in this fanzine falls into two categories:

  • The writer pretends he or she is a wizard or a witch from the Nine Kingdoms, and is writing up a report of their magical research, sort of like a scientist writes up his scientific research.
  • Informational articles about some aspect of "magic" for the general population to read. This can be real or made up. A real example might be, for instance, "Symbolism behind the Tarot".

Beyond that we have only a few simple rules:

  • Must be rated PG-13 or less
  • Cannot describe how to do anything extremely dangerous (i.e. make a real bomb)
  • Submit in .doc, .rtf, (both MSWord), .wpd (WordPerfect), or .txt (text) format.

Please use what we already have printed in this issue as a guide, or if you are in doubt, email either me or Viv about your proposal.

Someone asked if we wanted to reprint something from elsewhere (not something done by a fan). No. We'd like all original material please. That doesn't mean whatever you did can't have been posted somewhere else first, just so YOU are the one who did it!

Please also do not miss the Call For Papers on page 10. That is a real call for papers - Aurendel will compile and edit a special publication (as Dr. Lear) with the theme she has listed on that page, and we will publish the finished tome here at KingdomsPress. She does need your entries, however; it can't be a success unless people contribute.

Contributers will get a large-size non-commercial ad (for their or someone else's website, fanfiction, etc.) in the journal issue in which their submission appears. These ads are available ONLY to people who contribute. For design purposes, these large ads should be sized at 700 pixels wide by about 250 pixels tall. If you are adept at graphics, please make your own ad; if not, let us know and we'll make one for you.

Send queries to the editor.

Once upon a time ...
a lot of scenes got left out of a novelization ...
Now, they've finally been written.
