Perchance to Dream
by Philip Tolewyn

I see myself reflected
In tranquil beauty eyes
Responded to with gentle kiss
And wish the world might slow

A moment to another
Nothing but her constant
A plume of passion rising
A sun of sparkling ice

Grey clouds wash our soul
Renews the fire bright
Forgets the pain of loss
Smouldering from within

I whisper to your heart
A simple lullaby
Watching your chest rise and fall
Wondering how long paradise can last

You sleep in tender dream
Innocent and pure
Protected by a lover
Holding up his heart

If the rain were to stop
I would wish it start anew
And sleep this dream forever
Lying in your lap
