Chapter 1:
Luis and Sheridan are at a beautiful restaurant named “Candle Adore.” Candles are lit everywhere and where love is in the air especially around Luis and Sheridan’s table. Luis feels his pocket to make sure the object is still in there. The object that will tell their future. A future of being together or a future of being apart. Luis had practiced over and over again how he should ask her. Now the time as come and he is so nervous. Little drops of sweat runs down his face. He wipes it of by his hand. Sheridan looks at him and becomes very confused.
“Luis, why are looking like you are going to do a exam or something? Enjoy yourself!” Sheridan puts her hand on top of Luis sweaty hands. Luis takes the object out of the pocket.
“Sheridan…um…would…you make me…”
Luis doesn’t finish his question as the whole place started to shake badly. The entire cutlery on the tables, on the shelves and in the kitchen falls on to the floor breaking into thousands of pieces. Everyone in the restaurants falls to the floor too. The object drops from the box that Luis had in his hand and the table next to Sheridan falls onto her causes her to go unconscious. Suddenly, all the shaking stop. Everyone just looks around seeing how much the earthquake had made damage to the restaurant. Luis looks at Sheridan and the box without the object. The ring. The engagement ring that would have been on Sheridan finger if this earthquake didn’t happen.
1 Month later~
“Honey. Wake up. Wake up for me. We have are whole life ahead of us. I won’t go ahead without you by my side. Taking the same path as I will. Honey, I love you. Come back to me. I need you,” Luis is kneeling down on the hospital room and holding Sheridan hands.
Pilar, Ethan and Theresa are outside talking. Pilar has tears in her eyes and Theresa is holding Ethan’s hand for comfort.
“Mama, will she ever wake up? Luis needs her. She has been the happiest part of his life. He has never felt this way about anyone before. He nearly lost her when she pretended to be dead and got buried. Now he is might loose her again. Mama, I don’t like it,” Theresa looks at her mother and then looks at the door. Behind the door is Sheridan who is fighting for her life. A life that would have Luis. A life where a strong arms will protect her from all the dangers of the world. Luis’ arms. Luis’ love.
“I don’t know, Miha. But if she doesn’t wake up soon Luis will loose his mind. They have survived lots of obstacles to be together so this could just be another one. I have faith they will survive this one,” Pilar wipes her tears and sits down.
“Sheridan has been through a lot in her lifetime. Finally she finds the man of her dreams and now she is fighting for a life. Why Sheridan? God!” Ethan looks at the door and remembers all the time when he and Sheridan talk to each other. Theresa hugs Ethan and he hugs back. Luis walks out.
His face full of sorrow and devastation. His body has no life and no love. A lump of unhappiness. Luis looks at Pilar then at Theresa and then Ethan and then at Sheridan sleeping on the bed helpless. Tears flow down his face. He forgets to be a man. But becomes a man that had his heart pulled out by someone and tore it into pieces.
Will Sheridan wake up? Or will she die? Bringing her one in lifetime happiness with a man that will love her forever to a dead end?

Chapter 2:
“Miho, are you okay? Do you need anything?” Pilar goes and hugs him.
“Yes!” Luis looks at the door and then Pilar realises what he wants.
“I am so sorry Luis but I have faith that she will open those beautiful eyes of hers and call out your name soon. You just need to be patient,” Theresa says to her brother. She hates that her brother is suffering and here she is so happy to have Ethan as her boyfriend.
“Why can’t it be sooner? I mean I was going to ask her to marry me but that stupid earthquake stop me. And now the woman I truly love with all of my heart is laying here on a hospital bed with her life hanging on a string. On a very thing string that could snap any minute now and I will loose her forever,” Luis says to them and then walks back into the room that Sheridan is in.
Inside the room, Luis fixes up all the mess. While he does he thinks about all the moments he and Sheridan shared right from the beginning. Right from when she smashed her car into Luis’ police car and how they hated each other so much. Then realising they both had feelings for each other. He remembered all the obstacles they went through to be together. Then he looks at Sheridan sleeping on the bed with wires all over her.
“Sheridan, I just hope this is just another stupid obstacle we need to pass before we can live our happy life together. We would have a family with lots and lots of kids. We will grow old together and when we are old we can just think of this as a bad memory,” Luis kisses her on her forehead.
Beth walks in. She looks at Luis then at Sheridan.
“Is she okay? I am really sorry to hear about this! I must admit that I was kind of happy in the beginning because I still had feelings for you, Luis, but now I see that you and Sheridan are meant to be. I know because all the problems you guys survived but with us with one stupid fight we couldn’t stand each other. I will pray for her to wake up,” Beth says while tears run down her face.
Luis stands up and walk over to Beth,
“You are a great friend, Beth. I am sorry that our relationship didn’t work but I am sure you will find someone that will love you very much. Thanks for offering to pray for Sheridan’s survival,” Luis hugs Beth and Beth hugs back.
Beth doesn’t want to let go because she truly loves Luis even after all the quarrels they had every day they spend as boyfriend and girlfriend. She wished it was different but she knew better that it would never work, their love. Luis and Sheridan belong together and she knows that now even if it breaks her heart into million pieces that no one can fix. Finally she lets go and wipes her tears away.
“Goodbye, Luis. All the best with Sheridan,” Beth says. Beth then leaves and closes the door behind her. She then went home.
Luis sits back down on the chair and then continues to stare at Sheridan. Her eyes, her mouth that normally smiled whenever she saw Luis and her face that was the most beautiful thing Luis has seen in his life.
Suddenly Sheridan’s mouth moved slightly.
Is Sheridan alive? Or is it Luis’ mind playing up?

Chapter 3:
“She moved! I saw it with my very own eyes! She moved! She moved!” Screamed Luis really loud with all his lungs. Pilar, Theresa, Ethan and Eve all heard him an ran into the room.
“She moved? Are you sure?” Eve asked while checking Sheridan.
“Yes! She did!” Luis had the biggest smile in his life on his face. Happiness filled his all body and his body became live again with the knowing that Sheridan will be all right after all.
“Luis, Miho, I think your mind is playing up. You must have really wished that she would give you a sign or something that she was alive. You just imagine that she moved, Miho. Come on you need sleep. Come home and you can come back tomorrow,” Pilar says to Luis while staring at Sheridan.
“Rubbish! She moved and I know it. Remember last time I said I saw her moving and none of you believe me then she came alive. Well this time it is the same thing. God I know what I saw and this is what I saw. She moved her mouth very slightly but that is a sign that she is alive. Isn’t it?” Luis looks at Sheridan then at Pilar.
“I believe Luis. She is alive! Faith have given a sign to Luis to say that Sheridan is alive so don’t worry. Mama, maybe she will move again and you will se she is alive. I had hope from the beginning that Sheridan will wake up and Luis and her will have a wonderful life,” Theresa looks at Luis and smiles.
“I believe in Luis because I didn’t do it last time and I regretted that so I won’t do it this time. If Luis saw Sheridan move then she moved,” Ethan says looking at Sheridan. He made a promise never ever question Luis about Sheridan because their love is so strong nothing can stop it not even death.
“Sorry to break your happiness Luis and everyone but Sheridan hasn’t moved ever since you saw her move. You must have imagined that she did, Luis. The table hit Sheridan really badly on her head, Luis. Now she is in coma,” Eve said while checking her for the very last time.
“Luis, you need to consider that Sheridan might not wake up. The angel might take her to heaven where she will look over you for the rest of your lives,”
“N0! N0! She is alive and I know it because my heart feels her present here. If you won’t believe me I don’t care but I won’t give up on her. I love her very much,” Luis walks over to Sheridan and kneels down. He takes her hand and puts his head on her chest.
Everyone else leaves so Luis can have his time with Sheridan by himself.
“Honey, I saw you move and I believe that the angels are bringing you back to me,” Luis says to Sheridan. He touches her hair then her forehead, then her nose and then lastly her mouth.
“I need to kiss you because I being missing your kisses. The kisses that melts my heart into liquid and the kisses that gives life to me,” Luis kisses Sheridan on the forehead then on her nose and then a big one on her mouth. But the kisses weren’t the same as when Sheridan kissed Luis when she was alive.
“Why aren’t you waking up? Open those wonderful and shining eyes of yours. I need you, Sheridan, I need you!” Luis
Tears from Luis’s sad face drop onto Sheridan face one by one.
“I wonder if you ever will wake up so I can kiss you non-stop! I love you, Sheridan and I will always will,” Luis walks out.
Would Luis get his one and only wish?

Chapter 4:
While Luis falls asleep on Sheridan’s shoulder, inside Sheridan head she remembers everything from the day she met Luis to the night of the earthquake when Luis nearly lost her. She also remembers that Luis was going to ask her something. She knew what the question was even before Luis asked because she seen him practice. She knew also that Luis wanted the night he would ask her to be special so she made a promise that she will pretend to be surprised on the night that Luis propose to her.
But now it is too late. She just can’t open her eyes. She doesn’t know why but with all her energy she still can’t. If that earthquake didn’t happen she and Luis would be all ready married living a wonderful life. She remembered that she moved her lips slightly but only Luis saw and no one believed him. She heard the whole conversation. Without seeing Luis face _expression she knew he was so happy to see her move. The sad thing no one believed him so she tried as hard as she could do moved but none of her muscle moved an inch.
Luis wakes up and slowly turns his head around while murmuring, “Please be a wake” When his head is facing Sheridan he sees she isn’t a wake. His heart skips a beat.
“Why aren’t you waking up? Don’t you love me? Don’t you? Whole my life I being dating girls after girls but you were the only one that I wanted to spend the rest of my life. You were the only one that I wanted my kids to look like. You were the one who made my life seem like love can concur all obstacles.
Sheridan, why are you the one who always seem to slip through my fingers? I have lost you heaps of time but every single time we got together some how. How come this isn’t happening now? Don’t you want to be in my arms? Don’t you want to travel the world with me like I promise you I would take you? Come on give me a sign? Give me any sign that you are alive and you want to be with me till you leave this world! Sheridan I would do anything for you to open those big beautiful eyes of yours and say that you will marry me! Sheridan, I hate you!
I hate you fro putting me through this by myself! Don’t you love me! Don’t you love me! Don’t you love me?” Luis starts to kick all the things on to the floor in the hospital room. He bangs his hands on the table and he kicks the wall in frustration.
Pilar walks in and tries to make Luis calm down but it doesn’t work.
“Miho, Calm down! She will wake up! She will!” Pilar says as tears starts to fall down her cheek.
“I doubt it, Mama. I think I have lost her forever. Mama on the night of the earthquake I was going to ask Sheridan to marry me and now I won’t even be able to do that. She is gone. The angels have taken my love of my life away from me. Away from me to heaven!”
“That’s isn’t true! She is alive! She will make it! She still will be able to marry you. She will!” Pilar goes over to Sheridan.
“Sheridan, come on! Wake up for Luis! He needs you. Please!” Pilar whispers to Sheridan.
Suddenly Sheridan’s eyes open widely.
“Yes, Luis I will marry you,” Sheridan screams loudly and Luis turns around.
What is going on? Is this really happening? Wait for the next chapter to find out!
