CHAPTER 17: BREAKFAST
I thought that red-haired pretty boy gunslinger looked familiar,
thought Desire. Now I remember where I've seen him before. It was
in the last century. In the home of a wealthy cattleman. I made
two brothers in that home desire that redhead. Yes, it's all coming
back to me now.

"Sit here next to me, Johnny," said Haus smiling.
"No, sit here by me," said Little Jo.
Johnny saw Haus glaring at Little Jo.
"Fellas, fellas," said Johnny in a light-hearted voice. "There's no
need to argue. I can sit here between the both of you."
Clark fumed. He had planned on playing footsie with Johnny under
the table while they had breakfast. So much for that, thought Clark.
Bill looked on with an amused expression on his face.
"Johnny, we were thinking about what you said last night," said Haus.
|
"Yes," said Little Jo. "Now we need you to settle an argument
between Haus and me."
"An argument? Well, if I can be of some help, sure. I'd be happy
to," said Johnny.
"Which one of us would you choose? Little Jo or me?" said Haus.
Johnny paused and stared at Haus, then at Little Jo.
"Gentlemen," said Clark. "That's quite some question to ask. Think
about it. You're putting poor Johnny on the spot here. No matter
who he chooses, it's going to cause some unpleasant feelings for the
one who doesn't get chosen."
"I reckon you're right, Clark," said Little Jo. "But we want an
answer. We want it now."
"Little Jo thinks you'd naturally pick him," said Haus. "His
reasoning being that what better match for a pretty boy than another
pretty boy, so he says."
Little Jo smiled his brightest pretty boy smile at Johnny.
"I don't know what to say," said Johnny. He honestly did not know
how to choose. Before Clark showed up, Johnny figured he'd simply
enjoy the company of both Haus and Little Jo and take his time
deciding which he preferred. But now here was Clark sitting at the
same table looking all handsome and muscular and gorgeous and oozing
sex appeal.
Gahhh, thought Johnny. What am I going to do now?
|
He looked at Bill. And there's Bill. Beautiful tall blond lean
sinewy Bill.
I'm a kid in a candy shop, thought Johnny. So many yummy men to
choose from.
Just then a window shattered. Gun shots were being fired from
outside.
"Get down!" shouted Haus. Everyone dived down to the floor.
Clark immediately checked to see if the others were all right.
Good, no one's been shot, thought Clark. He used his x-ray vision
to see who was outside shooting.
