Natalie lie there on her bed staring at the ceiling. The pain was tremendous. 'How could this happen? The man who loves me marrying someone else? And she is carrying his child! Why does everything happen to me!' She sobbed uncontrollably for about an hour. She needed closure. She needed to say goodbye. She got up and got dressed, ready to head to the chapel.
The ceremony was just beginning. Cristian was standing at the front of the alter, not with a happy face, but a sad expression. He knew that this was it. After this he would have no freedom. He would never be able to do anything with Natalie. It hurt him inside but he took a deep breath and knew that this was the right thing to do.
Jen started to walk down the isle as the music played. She smiled at Cristian, but all he could do is give her a half smile back. She walked up to the alter hoping that her plan will work out. And it almost did until Natalie stormed in telling everyone to stop.
"Cristian please I need to talk to you. I am really sorry everyone for barging in like this." Everyone looked at her in disgust as Cristian ran to her. They went to the minister's office to have a chat.
"Cristian please don't do this. We love each other. That's all that matters. And there are other ways to be a father without marriage. Please Cristian I beg of you." Natalie sobbed.
Cristian saw the hurt and it made him ache inside. "Natalie I'm sorry. You told me to do this and this is what I have to do. Marrying Jen is the right thing for the baby. I am so sorry."
Natalie didn't say anything. She took a deep breath and walked away. She drove angrily home crying all the way. Her heart was broken. There was no hope. She knew what she had to do.
Cristian went back to the alter to find Jen on the floor with a bunch of people crowded around. He ran to her side.
"Jen? Jen are you alright?" He screamed hoping the baby wasn't harmed. The rest of this was a blur to him. All he remembers was hearing someone say she needs to go to the hospital so when the ambulance arrived, he went with her.
Natalie walked inside and threw her coat on the ground. With a dazed look she went upstairs to her room and sighed. There was nothing left. Nothing left for her to do now. She walked out onto her balcony and looked over the edge. Laying below was a small garden with beautiful flowers. In the middle was one patch of Roses that were all wilted. She realized that she was the wilted flower. She knew what she had to do to put the flower out of it's misery.
Cristian and Jen arrived at the hospital and they told him that he could only stay in the waiting room. He hoped to god that the baby was alright. He sat there pacing back and forth and in that while he thought about Natalie. He hoped that she was alright. He called her just in case, but there was no answer at Llanfair or her cell phone. He prayed that she wasn't too hurt by his decision.
Natalie stared at the rose and realized that she must kill it, to put it out of its misery. She climbed onto the railing and stood on top of it. She had the most serious face on ready to jump. To ease her pain and make the wilting stop.
Dr. Conklin finally came out ready to answer some questions.
"Cristian?" She asked looking around and spotting him sitting.
"Cristian, Jen has had a miscarriage. I am so sorry for her loss, but right now Sam and Lindsay have requested that only family members visit her and they have asked me to ask you to leave for the night. You will be able to see her in the morning." She said as she got up and walked back into Jen's room.
Cristian was stunned. He had no idea what to do. He didn't have to marry Jen anymore that was for sure. He was sad for his baby but happy that he could finally be with Natalie. He got in his car and started to drive to Llanfair, eager to tell her the sad, yet good news.
Natalie looked out in the darkness ready to jump. She almost did, until she saw that there was one rose in the patch of wilted ones that was struggling to survive. It looked like all it needed was a little more sunshine and water and it would survive just fine. Having second thoughts Natalie was ready to come back down.
Cristian pulled up to Llanfair eager to see Natalie. He couldn't wait to tell her. He couldn't wait to hold her in his arms again and tell her it would be ok. He ran to the door and rang the doorbell. No one answered so he rang again. Thinking they must be outside this evening, He started to walk around the back.
Natalie started to turn around. She did it as slow as possible. She prayed to god she could get down because she had hope. Hope that she was going to get through this. As she was turning she saw Cristian below. Not being careful, she slipped and fell from the second story.
Cristian saw Natalie and he thought he saw her jump. He ran to her side as she lay in the patch of wilted roses.
