James
Marsters plays Spike. James Wesley Marsters was born August
20th, 1962 in Greenville, California, His father was a minister, and his mother almost
became a nun, and he has one brother and one
sister.
He grew up in
Modesto where
he attended Davis High School, after graduating he went on to study at
Julliard, (where he starred in such classics as "Twelfth
Night" and "Troilus and Cressida") but after two
years he was kicked out, he then went to the Pacific
Conservatory of the Performing Arts, and the American Conservatory
Theatre. James
spent about ten years on the stage before he realized that there
wasn't enough money to be had on the stage and moved to Los
Angeles to pursue a film and television acting career.
He
had several guest shots on shows like "Northern
Exposure" and "Medicine Ball", before eventually
landing the role of Spike on Buffy the Vampire Slayer.
In
the meantime, he has guest starred on "Millennium",
"Andromeda" and
also had a small role in the 1999 horror film "The House On
Haunted Hill."
James
has a scar on his left eyebrow, which he got after being mugged in
New York.
Off
screen, James enjoys working on his car, playing guitar, singing, painting, and
writing. He
currently lives in Los Angeles.
