Synopsis
Buffy stalks a Vampire through the Cemetary but is interrupted by Riley, who attacks the Vamp. Another Vamp rises and Spike jumps out and gets himself a little violence before bedtime.
Buffy: Why do I even bother to show up?
She tells Spike to stay out if her way while she patrolls and all but tells Riley the same. When they leave, Spike vows to kill Buffy.
At school, Buffy complains to Willow about her busy schedule. They go to the Magic Box, where Giles shows her the brand new training room. Riley playfully challenges Buffy to a fight, but she ignores him.
Harmony enters the crypt and begs Spike to protect her from the Slayer.
Harmony: Come on, Spike. Pretty please? I'll do anything!
Spike: Anything, will you?
Harmony: Yeah! I said I'll do anything.
Ohhhh. You mean will I have sex with you? Well, yeah.
The next morning, Joyce & Dawn talk in the kitchen. Joyce turns around and looks at her daughter strangely.
Joyce: Who are you?
she asks Dawn, before fainting.
Buffy & Riley rush to the hospital where a doctor named Ben updates them. Dawn listens to their hearts with a stethoscope and is shocked to hear a very strange thumping noise from Riley's. He refuses to stay in the hospital overnight. Buffy tries to contact the Initiative, but they don't exist anymore. She picks up Riley's phone and says that he needs help.
Later, Graham and two Goverment agents try to take Riley away, but he beats them off. They tell Buffy that he is missing. Spike and Harmony pressure a former Initiative doctor into removing the chip.
Buffy tracks Riley down in the Initiative caves. He agrees to get the surgery. Harmony watches the Doctor's moves while he does the chip-ectemy. She turns her back for a second and the Doctor removes the chip. Buffy & Riley arrive and a fight breaks out. Spike tries to bite Buffy, but a sharp pain stops him. He looks into dish and sees that the Doctor left a coin in it. They flee, leaving just enough time for Riley's surgery.
That evening, Buffy storms into Spike's crypt. She tries to kill him, but instead they kiss. Spike tells Buffy that he loves her. He wakes up in bed beside Harmony.
Spike: Oh, god, no.
Please, no.
Analysis
Riley The heart problems stem from the drugs that were pumped into Riley by Maggie Walsh. The Initiative treated his food.
Joyce asked Dawn, "Who are you?". This was a result of the spell that's making Dawn real, failed for a moment. When she woke up, everything was back to normal.
Does Spike love Buffy YES: He loved Drusilla. He can't kill her, why not love her.
NO: He's a Vampire. He's Spike.
