Relations 121 (the last chapter)

10 months since last chapter has now passed…

The hospital:

Eric and Stephanie hurried to the maternity ward as soon as they had gotten the call from Kristen. It had only been 2 months since they had hurried there like this since the last time. When Bridget had delivered her baby…

Eric still remembered how upset he had been when he heard Bridget was pregnant with a boy she had known for such a short time. It had taken months for him to finally accept that his teenage daughter was building a family of her own. But he had finally come to accept it as soon as he saw his grandson in Bridget´s arms.

Now it was time again. This time, the new mother wasn´t a teenager. She was a young woman. Eric and Stephanie got there and saw Casey by a payphone, just hanging up the phone. They went over to their son-in-law to get the latest news.

Stephanie: What´s going on? – she asked worriedly.

Casey: Everything is going as they should. The water has broken and she is having contractions.

Stephanie: How far apart are they?

Casey: She still has a long way to go. Why don´t you come in?

The three of them went into the delivery room where they found Felicia and Kristen.

Kristen: Mom, dad.

Eric: Kristen. How are you, Felicia?

Felicia: I´m doing okay – for now…

Stephanie went to sit down by her daughter´s bedside.

Stephanie: Honey, I´m here if you need me.

Felicia: Thank you, mom. It feels a little better knowing you´re around. Ohhh… Here comes another… - Felicia said as she grabbed her mother´s hand to squeeze it. Stephanie´s fingers turned red as she felt the pain Felicia was in. The minute later, the contraction was over and Felicia let go of her hurting hand.

Felicia: That went by quickly, thank God. I didn’t hurt your hand, did I?

Stephanie: No… I´m fine – Stephanie said. Listen, I´m gonna go call Ridge and Thorne to let them know.

Kristen: I already called them earlier. They are on their way.

Stephanie: OK. How about Bridget?

Kristen: I couldn´t get a hold of her.

Stephanie: Then I´ll try. I´ll be right back.

Stephanie turned around and left the room, followed by a grinning Eric.

Felicia: Kristen, I want to thank you for being here. It means a lot to me.

Kristen: I wouldn´t want to be anywhere else. What happened is history in my book. I could never resent you. You´re my little sister. And Casey, I don´t want you to feel awkward in my presence. I have Bo now. And I couldn´t be happier.

Felicia: That´s right. How is Mr Bo Brady?

Kristen: He is great. A real dream guy. No offence, Casey.

Casey: None taken. How is Bo´s new job coming along?

Kristen: He is doing great at L.A.P.D. Same district as your friend Ricardo Torres.

Felicia: I think another contraction is here…

Casey hurried over to give a hand to his fiancée as the nurse and doctor came back into the room.

Stephanie sat down in the waiting area and blew on her hand. Eric looked amused at his wife.

Stephanie: What is so funny? She really hurt my hand, you know.

Eric: I know the feeling. It reminded me of the time you were lying in a delivery room to give birth to Felicia. I was the one with the crushed hand then.

Stephanie: You didn´t complain then. And I didn´t squeeze it THAT badly.

Eric: Please! I couldn´t design for a week after that!

Stephanie: Why didn´t you say anything?

Eric: I think for the same reason you didn´t tell Felicia. You don´t want to mess with a woman in labour!

Stephanie: No you don´t… I just hope Casey is smart enough to lend her his left hand…

Ridge: Mother, dad! How´s Felicia? – he said as he and Taylor arrived.

Stephanie: She´s still in labour. I think it will be at least another half hour.

Taylor: Is it OK to go in there.

Stephanie: I think so. Go ahead.

Thorne: How is she? – he asked as he and Brooke arrived.

Stephanie: I just told your brother and Taylor to go in and check for themselves. You go too.

Brooke: I think I´ll stay out here.

Thorne: Are you sure?

Brooke: Yes. It´ll be crowded in there if everyone goes.

Thorne, Ridge and Taylor went inside as Eric, Stephanie and Brooke stayed.

Brooke: How is she?

Stephanie: Everything is going fine.

Eric could sense some tension between Stephanie and Brooke. They hadn´t gotten into a fight for a long time. Although it had been close a few times. Eric realized it would take forever before the two women could be friends, but as long as they were civil to each other, he was happy.

Annie´s house:

Annie was sitting with her 5 months old baby girl in her arms as Bette brought out a bottle filled with warm gruel. Annie started feeding her daughter as Bette proudly looked on.

Bette: She´s such a little angel. So beautiful.

Annie: I know. Just perfect.

Bette: Douglas girls are, you know.

Annie: You´re doing it again, aunt Bette.

Bette: What?!

Annie: Reminding me of your COUSIN Stephanie Forrester.

Bette: I was not. You are too paranoid, Poopsie. And why can´t you just accept that Stephanie is related to you? You´ve known for months.

Annie: You know me, aunt Bette. I don´t forget very easily.

Bette: I know… Let´s just change subject. Have you heard from Ben?

Annie: Yes, I have. He has come by a few times to see her.

Bette: That is a good man. It´s not his daughter and he still cares to visit her. I wish you two could work things out. He is so good for you.

Annie: It´s too late for me and Ben. – she said as the baby sneezed.

Bette: God bless you, sweetie. Annie, don´t you think she looks a little hot?

Annie: Of course she´s hot, she IS my daughter – Annie laughed.

Bette: No, Annie. I didn´t mean hot like that. She looks warm. – Bette said as Annie felt the girl´s forehead.

Annie: You´re right, she´s burning up… We have to get her to the hospital!

Bette: Annie, take it easy. She just have a fever.

Annie: Are you sure about that? I´d feel a lot better if we took her to see a doctor.

Bette: OK, OK. But I´m sure it´s nothing to worry about. Come on, I´ll take you.

They headed out.

BB Bennett´s mansion:

BB was surprised to find Ava and Nathan waiting as he opened the front door.

BB: What do I owe this pleasure?

Nathan: Spare the hospitality.

BB: Fine. Come in, tell me what´s on your mind.

Nathan and Ava went to the livingroom, followed by BB.

Nathan: We just wanted to tell you that we are back together again. But I´m sure you knew that already. One of your goons told you, I suppose.

BB: No, actually it was news to me. Congratulations, I guess.

Ava: Like you mean it…

BB: I do mean it.

Ava: Nathan and I have been talking about you. We have tried to figure out why you set out to separate us. We don´t have all pieces of the puzzle yet, we´re hoping you could finish the puzzle for us.

BB: And why would I do that?

Nathan: Family. If you don´t, I´ll see to it that you don´t see Esther or Nick ever again.

BB: They are my grandchildren, you can´t keep me from seeing them!

Nathan: But I will, if you don´t spill the information. I don´t care how dirty or awful it is, I only want to know the truth! Either you give it to me now, or we have nothing else to talk about. It´s up to you.

BB: You sure are my son, Nathan. You get your sense of negotiation from me.

Nathan: Then you fold?

BB: On one condition, after I tell you this, you won´t keep me from seeing Nick and Esther. They mean the world to me.

Nathan: Really? I though your business meant the world to you? It was sure more important to you than me or Clive ever was.

BB: That is not fair.

Nathan: I don´t care anymore. Just tell me the truth.

BB: You remember I wanted to see you as vice president of Bennett Enterprises?

Nathan: How could I forget? You practically forced me to it even though I repeatedly say I didn´t want that.

BB: That hurt me a great deal. My son didn´t want to work with me.

Nathan: You always had Clive.

BB: Clive wasn’t interested in business. It´s not his style. I wanted you, my first born son to work with me and take over the company one day.

Nathan: What does that have to do with me and Ava splitting?

BB: It has. You see, I turned to Ava to get her to change your mind.

Nathan: She told me.

BB: Then you also know she didn´t want to help me as she supported your wish to be a designer full time. I couldn´t let that happen. So I had to get rid of her influence on you.

Nathan: THAT´s why you split us up?

BB: It´s more. I paid Ava to get her to back me up. But she refused to take the money. So I put the money in a new back account in her name.

Nathan: You told me she had taken the money to convince me to work for you.

Ava: But I didn´t know about any money. I tried to talk you into giving your father a second chance because I knew how much it meant to him.

Nathan: And I though it was because you had taken his money.

Ava: And when you still hesitated, that´s when you stage that kiss.

Nathan: You called Ava over, then you found out I was on my way and you came up with the perfect plan.

Ava: You pulled me into a kiss just as Nathan opened the door and saw us.

Nathan: I of course though you had an affair and that´s why you took the money from him.

BB: You seem to have figured this out all by yourselves…

Nathan: That´s why you didn´t want me to talk to her. You was scared we might figure out the truth if we did.

Ava: You thought I had an affair with your father and that´s why you slept with Anna.

Nathan: And that was the end of our marriage.

BB: I feel terrible about that. That´s why I didn´t pressure you to take the job after that.

Nathan: You got cold feet? No, that’s not the great BB Bennett´s style.

BB: But I did. I didn´t know what happened to me. I have no problem being ruthless with business competition. But you are my son. I couldn´t do it.

Nathan: Why didn´t you tell us the truth then?

BB: I guess I was a coward. I wanted to save my own neck.

Nathan: As always.

BB: I am really sorry. I didn´t mean to split up your family. Things went too far and I couldn´t control it any more.

Nathan: That´s all behind us now. I don´t know if things can be the way they were between us ever again. But I have no more energy being mad at you anymore.

BB: So you forgive me?

Nathan: I might someday. You can see your grandchildren, I won´t stand in your way. But if you ever mess with us again, I will cut you off. Make no mistakes about that.

BB: I wouldn´t dream of it. Thank you, son.

The two men shook hands and Nathan and Ava left the mansion.

The hospital:

Felicia had just given birth to a beautiful and healthy little girl. Everyone in the family had been in the room visiting the baby and mother. Casey couldn´t have been prouder. He had a daughter with a woman he loved so much. They were left alone, the new family.

Kristen was happy to see Bo arrive at the hospital.

Stephanie: Brooke, I don´t think you´ve met Bo Brady…

Brooke: Oh hi. I´m Brooke Logan. Kristen´s sister-in-law.

Bo: Bo Brady, Kristen´s boyfriend.

Stephanie: I think we should all go home now. Felicia and the baby will need some rest.

Eric: You´re right.

Ridge: See you later then.

Ridge and Taylor headed home to their children.

Ridge: Another miracle, doc.

Taylor: Children are such a blessing.

Ridge: So are you.

Taylor: You too.

Ridge: I could never thank you enough for giving me another chance.

Taylor: You knew we were to end up together again, Ridge.

Ridge: Frankly, I didn´t. You and Nathan seemed to get serious.

Taylor: Maybe we were. But in my heart, there is only you. I was hurt when I learned you had slept with Morgan. I don´t know if I would have had the strength to forgive you if Morgan´s baby had turned out to be yours.

Ridge: Thankfully that didn´t happen.

Another part of the hospital:

Bette: Annie, are you sure you´re not going to call Ridge. He is the father after all.

Annie: I haven´t told him yet…

Bette: You haven´t told Ridge he is the father? Why in heaven’s name not?

Annie: He has Taylor and their children. I don´t feel like causing them any more problems than I already have. Taylor may be a bitch sometimes, but I care too much for Ridge.

Bette: You didn´t write Ben as the father, did you?

Annie: No. I wrote him as unknown.

The doctor came out after he had examined the baby.

Annie: Doctor, how is my daughter doing?

Dr: She has a high fever. We´re observing her and giving her fluid. I´m sure the fever will go down in a few hours. I´m glad you brought her here considering how high the fever is. But don´t worry. She´ll be OK.

Annie: Thank you.

Bette: Should you call Ben?

Annie: Why?

Bette: You told me how close he has gotten with her, he would want to know.

Annie: OK. I´ll call him.

Bette: Good, poopsie. I´ll go down to the cafeteria to get something to eat. I´ll be back in a few minutes.

Hospital cafeteria:

Bette finished her sandwich as she saw a familiar face. She hurried over to her.

Bette: Stephanie Douglas?

Stephanie: It´s Stephanie Forrester now. Do I know you?

Bette: I´m Bette Douglas… Well, it´s Bette Katzenkazrahi now.

Stephanie: My cousin?

Bette: You remember…

Stephanie: I haven´t seen you in ages. How are you?

Bette: I am great. What brings you to the hospital, if I may ask?

Stephanie: Our daughter gave birth earlier today.

Bette: That´s great. YOUR daughter. So, this is your husband? – Bette said and smiled at Eric.

Stephanie: Back off, his mine – Stephanie laughed.

Bette: What? – she asked innocently.

Stephanie: If I remember correctly, you were mad about good looking men.

Bette: Still am – Bette laughed.

Stephanie: What about you, what brings you to the hospital. Or should I say Los Angeles?

Bette: Annie is here with her daughter.

Stephanie: Morgan´s here?

Bette: Yes, but don´t worry. My scheming niece won´t cause any more problem to your family. I made her swear…

Stephanie: I hope so.

Bette: I know Annie isn´t a saint, God knows she has her flaws with honesty and empathy. But I do believe her this time. I like to believe that she will focus on her baby and their future. A future she doesn´t include Ridge in anymore.

Stephanie: That´s good to hear. I guess you married. Katzenk---?

Bette: You have no idea! And don´t bother with the last name. No one gets it correctly anyway. Listen, it was great to catch up with you. I hope to see you again soon, but I should go up before Annie wonders where I am.

Stephanie: Sure. Great to see you again, Bette.

Bette: I´ll drop by someday, OK?

Stephanie: That would be great. Bye.

Bette hurried up to Annie as Eric and Stephanie went to their car.

Eric: I am beginning to see what you meant when you told me about her.

Stephanie: She´s something else, isn´t she? – Stephanie smiled.

Amber´s apartment:

Amber, C.J and Ricky was playing with Ricky´s toys in the livingroom.

Amber: So, Ceej, have a hot date tonight?

CJ: Nope. Not tonight either.

Amber: So you´re stuck with us, huh?

CJ: I wouldn´t call it stuck, but if you insist…

Amber: Stop it… Really, can you stay for dinner?

CJ: Since when do I turn down dinner?

Amber: Good point!

Ricky: I need to go to the bathroom – he said and left the room.

Amber: Help me clean up the toys?

CJ: Absolutely.

They started picking up all the toys in the toybox. One car was left and they both reached for it. Their hands touched and they looked at each other. They both felt something, but before reacting on it, Amber took the toy and put in in the box as Ricky returned.

They sat down to have their dinner and later washed the dishes.

CJ: Oh, would you look at the time… I should get going.

Amber: Sure…

Ricky said bye-bye and headed off to his room.

Amber: I hope we can do this again soon.

CJ: I´d like that very much.

Amber: Good…

CJ: So…

They both felt like they should say something, but couldn´t come up with something that didn´t sound stupid in their heads. They stared at each other for a while. Suddenly, CJ leaned over and gave her a kiss on the cheek that Amber though was meant for her lips. She kissed him back on his lips and suddenly they were kissing.

CJ: What was that for?

Amber: I´m sorry!

CJ: Just kidding.

Amber: You make the worst jokes!

CJ: So that´s not why you fell in love with me.

Amber: Fell in love with you?

CJ: Stop kidding yourself Amber. We both know there is something between us.

Amber: I don´t know what you´re talking about…

CJ: Maybe I should remind you?

He kissed her and she gave in to it.

Amber: I think I might know now…

CJ: Good.

Amber: Are you sure?

CJ: I´m sure.

Amber: I am in love with you, CJ.

CJ: I love you too, Amber.

They kissed again.

The hospital:

Ben arrived to the hospital as soon as he could. He had Benjy with him since Maria had gone out for the evening.

Ben: How is she?

Annie: She has a high fever.

Benjy: Is she going to be OK?

Annie: She´d better be!

Benjy: I hope she gets better.

Annie: Thank you, Benjy. I hope so too.

Benjy got worried for the baby as he saw Annie very worried.

Ben: Is there anything I can do?

Annie looked down at Benjy.

Annie: No, listen, you should go home. Be with Benjy and Maria.

Ben: No, besides, I just got here.

A nurse came in the room to check on the little girl.

Nurse: Oh, hi. You must be the father… - she said as she saw Ben.

Benjy saw how upset Annie was when she heard the nurse. Suddenly, Benjy felt guilty.

Annie: No, he isn´t the father.

Benjy: Yes, he is.

Ben: What did you say?

Benjy: You are her daddy.

Ben: No, she isn´t. The doctor said she was another man´s child, remember?

Benjy: But that wasn´t true. He lied.

Annie: What?

Benjy: He lied. She is your child, daddy.

Ben: How do you know this?

Benjy: I shouldn´t tell…

Ben: Don´t worry. You can tell. How do you know it? I promise I won´t be mad at you, son. But you have to tell me.

Benjy: Mommy told the doctor to tell Annie it wasn´t your baby.

Annie: Maria!

Ben: Are you sure?

Benjy: I heard her.

Annie: I don´t believe this! How could she do that to me?

Benjy: I shouldn´t have told you.

Annie: Yes, you should. I am glad you did, Benjy. Thank you.

Ben: Well, that explains the late labour… She is my daughter.

Annie: I knew it! My God, Ben… We have a daughter.

Ben: Sophie Camilla Evans… You are my daughter.

Annie: Thank you, Benjy. I will never forget this.

Cafe Russe:

Maria arrived for a late dinner. She spotted someone she had bumped into before, sitting on his own. She decided to go over.

Maria: Hallo, stranger…

Clive: Maria! Good to see you again. Here alone?

Maria: Yes. You?

Clive: Alone. Care to join me?

Maria: Love to!

Clive: How is it that a beautiful woman like yourself isn´t attached to someone?

Maria: I could almost ask you the same.

Clive: Almost?

Maria: You´re not a beautiful WOMAN, are you?

They laughed.

Clive: No, I don´t think I am…

Maria: You remind me of someone…

Clive: Oh, oh…

Maria: No, it´s not bad. It´s good. You remind me so much of Ben, my former husband.

Clive: I do?

Maria: Uh-hmm. You´re both British, dark and good looking.

Clive: I´ll take that as a compliment.

Maria: You should. It wasn´t long ago since I gave up on him.

Clive: Gave up on him?

Maria: I tried to get him back. But he wouldn´t give me a chance. So, I gave up on him.

Clive: What a fool he must be.

Maria: He´s in love with my former best friend.

Clive: Aouch…

Maria: It´s OK. Maybe they are meant to be after all…

Clive: That means you are available.

Maria: What did you have in mind?

Clive: How about a dance?

Maria: I´d love to.

They got up on the dance floor and shared an intimate dance as the band played on.

Forrester mansion:

Gregory and Olivia were in the middle of packing up their belongings to move into their new house Gregory had bought for them, Sean and Trey. They couldn´t stay with the Forresters forever…

Eric and Stephanie returned home from the hospital. Gregory and Olivia went downstairs to get the scoop.

Olivia: So?

Stephanie: It´s a girl!

Olivia: Congratulations, grandparents!

Eric: Thank you.

Gregory: How are they?

Stephanie: They are doing great. I couldn´t be happier for her. Although, I feel a little old. My baby daughter has become a mother…

They all laughed.

Stephanie: Are you moving out today?

Gregory: It seem so. We want to thank you so much for your hospitality. If there´s anything we can do for you, let us know.

Stephanie: We will. If you promise to come by with Trey once in a while.

Olivia: We will only be a few houses away, we´ll see each other all the time.

Stephanie: You´re right.

Gregory: It´s awfully quiet around here these days.

Eric: You´ve noticed that too, huh? Well, with Kristen living with Bo, Felicia with Casey, Ridge is back with Taylor. Angela, Emma and Devin in the guesthouse, yeah, it´s pretty quiet. And now you are moving out too. It´s just you and me now, sweetheart.

Stephanie: Wow, that has never happened before, has it?

Eric: Not long, anyway. Well, I don´t have any complains. Do you?

Stephanie: Not that I can think of, no.

They all laughed again.

Gregory: I think we should be going now before it gets dark.

Olivia: Yes, I don´t feel like carrying Trey together with all the things we have left to move over.

Sean: OK, that´s it. I´m all packed. – he said as he came downstairs with a suitcase.

Olivia: Good. Trey! Come here, sweetie, we´re going now.

Trey came out to the livingroom from the kitchen where Helen had given him a little snack.

Gregory: Say good-bye to Uncle Eric and Aunt Stephanie. – Gregory told his son and handed him over to Eric.

Eric: You promise to be good now, don´t you?

Trey: Yes, Uncle Eric.

Stephanie: We love you, Trey.

Trey: I love you too.

Stephanie: Can I have a big good-bye hug?

Trey hugged them both and they were off to their new house.

Eric: Listen!

Stephanie: What?

Eric: It´s all quiet!

Stephanie: Is that how quiet sounds like… I think I can get used to it.

Eric: I hope you can, cause we´re not asking anyone else move in here. OK?

Stephanie: OK!

They kissed.

A hotelroom:

Elaine looked out the window to get a last view of Los Angeles. She couldn´t stay in town after all the embarrassment. How could she face Paula again after what she did to Gregory and Olivia? No, leaving was her only option. And the job she had searched for at “the Lodge” had turned out to be a chance to start over. She was leaving for Genoa City that same night. She was set to start all over. No one she knew and no history. It would do her good. Elaine looked back once more.

Elaine: Bye-bye Gregory. I´ll miss you. – she said and closed the door after her.

Spectra Fashions:

Sally wrapped up the day´s work to go home. Clarke stopped by to say good-night.

Sally: Also turning in, Bucky?

Clarke: No, I have a date tonight.

Sally: Really? Who is this person?

Clarke: You don´t know her. She´s a model. Sofia Alonzo.

Sally: Really? Sofia Alonzo, the one that works for Antonio Dominguez, the hot latino designer?

Clarke: That´s the one.

Sally: Not bad, Bucky! Have a good time.

Clarke: Are you going home now?

Sally: I think so, it´s been a long day. Thank you, Clarke.

Clarke: For what?

Sally: For staying with me. Spectra would have gone under if it weren´t for you.

Clarke: It was the least I could do after everything bad I have put you through all these years.

Sally: Let´s say we´re even then. No go on, you don´t want to be late for your hot date!

BB Bennett´s mansion:

BB: Oh my God! I don’t believe my eyes! Reese Tilton! How many years has it been?

Reese: Too many. How are you, BB?

BB: Better now when I see you here. Come in.

They went into the livingroom.

BB: What brings you by?

Reese: I wanted to let you know that you have gotten yourself a son-in-law.

BB: Megan got married?

Reese: Yeah, she did. To a very handsome Italian man, Giovanni Lorenzano.

BB: That´s wonderful.

Reese: I just wish you could have been there. But I am in no mood to tell Megan you´re her real father. Steve Conley was a very good man and I don´t want her to know he wasn´t her real father.

BB: It´s OK. I know we couldn´t tell anyone the truth back when Megan was born. I was married with two young sons.

Reese: I know. I don´t hold that against you.

BB: I wish I could see my Megan.

Reese: You can. Be my date for the family dinner I´m throwing tomorrow evening.

BB: Are you sure?

Reese: Yes. I want you to know your daughter. Even if the truth never comes out.

BB: Then I´d be honoured to join in.

Next morning

Annie´s house:

Annie: Ben, I shouldn´t be here. I should be at the hospital. My daughter needs me there.

Ben: OUR daughter, Annie.

Annie: Our daughter… - she smiled.

Ben: There´s nothing you can do for her tonight. She needs to rest. The doctor will call if the fever gets worse.

Annie: You´re right, I know that. It´s just that I want to be there with her, so she won´t get scared or lonely.

Ben: She´ll be fine. If you want, we can go back soon. But right now, I want us to have a talk.

Annie: I know.

Ben: So, where do we go from here?

Annie: That´s up to you.

Ben: No, it´s up to us. I realize you were hurt when I thought you had lied to me about for far along you were. And I am sorry about that. I should have believed in you. It´s just that…

Annie: … I have lied to you so many times before, you had a hard time believing in me now. I don´t blame you. I would have reacted the same way.

Ben: Maybe. But I still owe you an apology. I´m sorry, Annie.

Annie: Apology accepted.

Ben: Do you think there is a chance for us?

Annie: A chance?

Ben: Do you think we can overcome this and start over, with our daughter?

Annie: Is that what you really want?

Ben: It is what I really want. Is that what you want?

Annie: No.

Ben: Oh… - he looked disappointed.

Annie: It isn´t what I want cause I want something better then what we had before.

Ben: I understand.

Annie: No, you don´t. I want a relationship with you, Ben. I do. But not one where I have to defend myself to your son every time I see him. And not one where I have to compete with Maria. I want you, and I want a family with you. But Benjy and Maria can no longer be an issue for us.

Ben: Benjy is my son. I won´t abandon him.

Annie: That is not what I meant. In order for us to be together, Benjy has got to accept me as his stepmother or it will never work out.

Benjy: I think I can.

Annie and Ben spotted Benjy by the front door.

Ben: I told you to wait in the car, Benjy. How long have you been standing there?

Benjy: A while. I heard what you said.

Ben: Benjy…

Benjy: No, dad. I´m sorry. I have upset you by lying to you. I did it with Meg and now Annie. I feel bad about that. So I should do something right.

Ben: You already did, when you told the truth.

Annie: Benjy, do you think you can accept me as your stepmother?

Benjy: I will try.

Ben: Are you sure?

Benjy: I´m sure, dad.

Ben: You have no idea how happy that makes me, son. Thank you.

Annie: Benjy, thank you. I know that you will come to like me one day. And I want to be there for you. I know that I´m not your mother. Maria is and she always will be. She´s a terrific mother and you´re lucky to have her. But as your father´s friend, I want to be a part of your life.

Benjy: I can live with that. I´m sorry for what I did, Annie.

Annie: I know you are, Benjy.

Benjy: Can we go back to the hospital? I want to see my baby sister.

Ben: You do?

Benjy nodded excited.

Annie: Then lets go.

Benjy ran out to the car as Ben stopped Annie.

Ben: I love you.

Annie: I love you.

They kissed.

Ben: And don´t worry about Maria. I´ll have a little talk with her.

Forrester mansion:

Eric and Stephanie was up by the diningtable, eating breakfast, as Devin and Angela walked in to join them.

Angela: Good morning, mom, dad. – she said as she looked at them. And she was right, they reacted to it.

Stephanie: Mom and dad?

Angela: Well, you are…

Stephanie: We are. It was a little strange hearing you call us that, that´s all.

Eric: But we´ll get used to it, won´t we?

Stephanie: Absolutely.

Angela: Then I might just continue with it.

Eric: I was meaning to ask you, Angela. You said you went to economy school.

Angela: That´s right.

Eric: Are you looking for work?

Angela: Why? Do you know of something?

Eric: We need an accountant at Forrester. Interested?

Angela: Yeah. You haven´t got one?

Stephanie: He is retiring next month.

Angela: Sounds like something I could imagine doing.

Eric: Why don´t you come with us to Forrester today, to see what the job would require from you.

Angela: OK, I will.

Bennett´s mansion:

Nathan and Ava woke up in bed together as Esther rushed into the room and jumped up in the bed.

Nathan: Woah, little girl… Take it easy.

Esther: Sorry. I just wanted to tell you who I saw in the kitchen.

Nathan: Who you saw in the kitchen…?

Esther: Nick have a guest there.

Ava: A guest? As in overnight?

Esther: A-ha…

Ava: That friend doesn´t happen to be a certain Emma Cade, does it?

Esther: Maybe…

Ava: Oh… Great… I think we should go down for breakfast ourselves…

They put on their robes and went downstairs. Nick was surprised to see his parents standing in the door in the kitchen.

Nick: Mom, dad! I thought you´d be sleeping.

Nathan: It appears so.

Emma: I should go home.

Ava: No, stay Emma. Nick is a grown boy. He can choose to have people over.

Clive entered the room with a woman they had never seen.

Clive: What is this? Have you a family meeting you forgot to tell me about?

Nathan: We´re eating breakfast. So, who is this?

Clive: This is Maria Torres. Maria, this is my family. With all that introducing, I think we should go out for breakfast. How does Las Olas sound?

Maria: Sounds great.

Clive and Maria left.

Ava: They were sure in a hurry.

Nick: I would be too. I wouldn’t want to scare the poor woman away with introducing her to this mad family… - he joked.

Nathan: It´s nice to know everything is just the way it once was again.

Esther: So Emma, what is it exactly that you see in my geeky older brother?

Nick: Shut up, Esther!

Nathan: Yep, everything is back to normal.

Jail:

Sheila was in her cell thinking about her daughter. She was still with her elderly neighbour Mrs Miller. Sheila knew that if she told the police where she was, Sheila would never see her again. And that couldn´t happen. No, she had to keep quiet.

Ludlow, Kansas:

Joan and Hank were relaxing after their lunch. It was soon time for Hank to get back to the horses. There was a knock at the door which surprised them both. Joan went to open.

Joan: Francis! What brings you by?

Francis: I need you to do be a big favour. Can you take care of Mary?

Joan: Mary?

Francis stepped aside and a little brown haired girl looked up at Joan.

Joan: Who is this?

Francis: She is the daughter of Sheila, you know the weird lady that lived next door to me. I can´t take care of her anymore. Sheila has been arrested in Los Angeles and is behind bars. I can´t possibly turn Mary over to the authorities. She would be put in some foster home. That´s the last I want for her. She´s been through enough. She needs a stabile home in a loving family. Please, Joan. I am too old to care for her. I think Sheila will be back. I have a bad feeling about that. She will find me sooner or later and I don´t want her to get hold of Mary. Please, save this child. Take her in.

Joan: I don´t know.

Francis: I can´t force you. But this is for the future of an innocent child. Take her and choose what you want to do with her. I need to disappear now. Sheila is a very dangerous woman. Mary will be safe here.

Joan: OK, Francis. For you and Mary.

Francis: Mary, this is Joan Cummings. You will be staying with her now. Is that OK?

Mary nodded as she felt as though she could trust Joan. She seemed so nice.

Francis: Thank you Joan. You have just saved her life.

Genoa City, Wisconsin

Lauren Fenmore arrived in town after her little visit to Los Angeles. She regretted ever going back there. First it was Sheila and then Elaine… That city was full of lunatics. Genoa City might not be totally free of lunatics, but this was her home. Lauren stepped into the Lodge to get a bite to eat. She saw a familiar face by a table and went over.

Lauren: Is this seat taken?

Paul: Lauren! Yes, sit down. Join me.

Lauren: So… I heard about you and Christine. I´m sorry.

Paul: You´re sorry we split up? No, I don´t think you are.

Lauren: You know me too well, Paul…

Richards new Beverly Hills mansion:

Olivia came back to the bedroom after she had turned Trey over to Sean and Kimberly who had taken him to a nearby park. She found Gregory getting dressed after a shower.

Olivia: Hallo, my gorgeous husband.

Gregory: Hi there – they kissed.

Olivia: Going to the office?

Gregory: To the office? No… I took the week off.

Olivia: You did?

Gregory: You sound surprised.

Olivia: I am. You haven´t taken a week of in ages. Why start now?

Gregory: Are you complaining?

Olivia: Not on your life!

Gregory: Good. Cause I have decided to cut down on work. I am not repeating the same mistakes again. I will not put my work before my family any longer.

Olivia: You almost sound sincere…

Gregory: I am. You and our children mean the world to me. I won´t put some ruthless murderer or sleazy drug dealer in the first place.

Olivia: Ahhh. You say the most romantic things…

Gregory laughed.

Olivia: I love you, Gregory.

Gregory: I love you too, Liv. What do you say we stay in here for the rest of the day?

Olivia: Mmmm… I think that is the best idea I´ve heard in a long time.

They kissed and fell onto the bed.

Jail:

Sheila looked at the bars in front of her in her jail cell. She cursed Martin to rattle her and Mike out. Now, she had lost her daughter, her freedom and her revenge. It wasn’t fair! But she wouldn´t let things end like this. No, no. She was going to have her revenge one of these days. And no one would ever forget about it. Sheila promised herself that.

Guard: OK, lights are out in 3 minutes!

Sheila: This is hell.

Guard: Don´t worry. You´ll be out of here in no time. I just need a little more time.

Sheila: You´d better get me out of here. I´m counting on you.

Guard: You can. Here – he said and handed her a note.

Sheila took the note and the guard moved on to next cell.

Veronica: What´s that? – Sheila´s cellmate asked.

Sheila: Our ticket out of here.

The women read the note of the escape plan their saviour had given them carefully before the lights went out and Sheila destroyed the note. Sheila smiled to herself.

Sheila (thinking): The people in L.A. have no a clue what is waiting for them… I will get the last word. They will be sorry they ever crossed me! Lauren, Amber, Brooke… They will all get what´s coming to them. Stephanie… You think you´re safe in that castle of yours. Well, think again! You and your “lovely” family won´t know what hit you when you all hear from me again. This time, I mean business. This time, all hell will break loose.

The guard headed to the staff toilet. He made sure he was alone before removing his disguise.

Guard: Derek Evans old boy, welcome back! – he laughed to himself as he though about the plans he had for his old “buddies” from Sunset beach.
