SUMMARY-My new fic, is called Don't Hide From Me. This story takes place before sexual healing. Max and Liz are obviously head over heels for eachother. This is my version of how they got back together.

AT THE CRASHDOWN Liz impatiently waited for her order to be up. " Come on Michael. People are waiting." Michael turned around and made an annoyed face at Liz. " Listen Princess, I am hurrying as fast as I can. Here give them some sonic rings to hold them over!" Liz rolled her eyes and carried the sonic rings to a table of elderly women. " I am so sorry for the wait. As compliments from the Crashdown, we offer you a free order of sonic rings, until your order is ready." The ladies nodded, obviously annoyed with the slow service. Liz took a deep breath,and walked over to another table, to take their orders. Just then the bell rang on the entrance of the Crashdown door. Liz glanced over to see that it was Max. Her whole body froze. Max had an undenying effect on her. He smiled at her,and then took a seat at his usual booth. Max continued to stare and smile at her.Liz knew that people were waiting for her to take their order, but she couldn't bring herself to quit staring at Max. Everything about him mesmerized her. She was in love. Whether he felt the sameway...well she wasn't sure. It had been nearly two months since that fateful night on her roof, when Max had said that they didn't belong together. Ever since then their " relationship " had been just like it was before they had kissed. Both of them wanting eachother, but not acting or admiting it.

" Hello Miss?" Liz shook her head, and then apologized to the customer.

" I am sorry. What can I get for you?"

Max sat down in his usual booth, pining over the love of his life, Liz Parker. He loved her so much. Max missed kissing her and holding her. " Shutup Evans." Max mumbled to himself. " It's your own fault."

" What's your fault?" Max startled and feeling a little embarassed looked up to see Liz, looking at him. Max stiffened and sat up straight.

" Oh, um nothing." Liz nodded, and then proceded asking him questions.

" What can I get for you?" Max disappointed that Liz wasn't making conversation.

" How are you Liz?" Liz caught of guard, smiled.

" Oh, um I am really good actually. How about you?"

" I am doing well."

" Oh, yeah..thats good." Max nodded.

Without noticing it, Liz accidently dropped her pencil. Her and Max both bent down to grab the pencil.

Their hands lightly touching. Liz and Max both could feel the jolt of electricity that ran through their bodies. Liz glanced up at Max to see that he was staring at her. Did he feel the same way she did?

Max had lost all of his senses as he continued to stare into Liz’s dark eyes. The single touch of her hand against his drove him crazy. His passion for her was growing second by second. In his mind there was no one, but her and him.

Liz was brought back to reality, when Maria began yelling at her. “ Liz, girl come on. People are waiting!” Liz shook her head and quickly stood up, as Max handed her the pencil. “ Here.”

“ Thank you.” Max flipped his hair back and smiled.

“ Sure.” Liz nodded, regaining her composure.

“ What can I get for you?” Max sophistically looked over the menu.

“ I think I will have a slice of Men In Black Berry Pie with a cherry coke.”

“ Okay, your order will be right up.”

“ I hope so.” Liz smiled and then walked over to the counter, grabbing Max a piece of pie.”

Max sat back in his seat, admiring Liz as she worked. His urge to touch her, to be with her was undeniable. The way her hair lightly touched her neck, and how her eyes twinkled in the light. Max’s thoughts were interrupted by his sister Isabel, sitting down across from him. “ Hey Max.” Max managed a smile as he shifted in his seat.

“ Hey Is.” Isabel noticed that Max wasn’t looking at her when she talked, but at someone or something else. Isabel followed her brother’s gaze to see Liz.

“ Max, give me a break.”

“ Excuse me?”

“ You obviously want to be with her.”

“ Is!”

“ Well you do. You’re like a little puppy drooling over plate of meat.” Max sighed as he gave her an annoyed look. “ Drop it Isabel.”

“ Max..”

“ Listen, I can’t endanger Liz, anymore than I already have. We can’t be together.”

“ No matter how much you love her?” Max shot Isabel another annoyed look, and then sat back in his seat. Isabel rolled her eyes and then stood up, walking over to Alex, who was sitting at the counter.

Liz smiled at the interaction between Isabel and Alex They had been getting along so well lately. Oh and there was Maria and Michael. Sure they fought over everything, but it was obvious that they were in love. Liz was happy for all of them, but sad too. It made her sad, to think that Max didn’t want a relationship with her. Liz held her tears back, and put on a fake smile as she walked over to Max, to give him his piece of pie.

Max saw Liz approaching him. Maybe he should say or do something. Max felt his body go into “ want” mode. He quickly placed his Biology book over his lap, to cover his body’s reaction.

Liz took a deep breath. “ Here you go Max. You’re pie and coke.”

“ Thank you.”

“ No problem. If you need or want anything let me know.” Max sighed. I want you, he thought. Max nodded as Liz began to walk away. He couldn’t let her walk away. Max jumped out of his seat, and grabbed Liz by her arm, pulling her into the back of the Crashdown.

Once they were in the back of the Crashdown, Max pushed Liz up against the wall, and stared at her. “ Max, what...” Max pressed his fingers against her lips,and whispered, “ Shhh...” He thenpulled her head band off, throwing it to the ground. Slowly he caressed her cheek, whispering, “ Liz I need you. I want you. You’re are all I think about day and night. My heart, mind and body cry for you.”

“ Max, I feel the same way. Everytime I am around you, or think of you...I”

“ I know.” Max leaned in, as he prepared himself to take Liz’s lips, when his stubbornes and worry for her kicked in. Max slowly pulled away.

“ Max?” He could clearly see the hurt in her eyes. It killed him to see her that way. Max rubbed his hands through his hair, and then ran out, leaving a hurt Liz behind.

PART TWO-

Liz took deep breaths as she leaned against the wall for support. What had Max done? Why did he run away? Liz covered her mouth with her hands to muffle her sobs. She slid down to the floor, still crying.

Max ran out of the Crashdown, feeling horrible. He was unable to control himself, and of a result of that he had hurt his love once again. He felt like such a fool. What was he going to do now? Should he go back and comfort Liz? Max's mind was racing through different options. He groaned as he leaned against the wall outside the Crashdown. Bringing his hands to his face, Max groaned. " What have I done?"

Maria ran over to Michael, waiting for another order. " Michael hurry up." Michael threw his hands up in the air.

" Damn it Maria. I am cooking as fast as I can. It sure as hell doesn't help me, when you come and blabber." Maria sighed as she brought her hands to her waist. " I do not blabber." Michael rolled his eyes. " Yeah whatever." Maria shook her head,and then scanned the restaurant scene, realizing that Liz wasn't there. " Michael where is Liz?"

" How the hell am I suppose to know?"

" Men!" Maria yelled as she walked into the back of the Crashdown to see Liz on the floor, crying. Maria ran and knelt beside her. " Liz, what's wrong?" Liz ignored her as she continued to cry. " Liz, please tell me what's bothering you?" Liz slowly lifted her head and met Maria's eyes. " Maria what's wrong with me?"

" What? Liz nothing is wrong with you."

" No Maria. That can't be true." " Liz you're not making sense." " Maria why is it so hard for Max to love me?" Maria was about to respond, but was interrupted by another voice. " It's not hard to love you." Maria and Liz both looked to the doorway to see a teary eyed Max standing there. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Maria then knew that Liz was crying over Max. She stood up and met his eyes. " Max, please don't hurt her." Maria then left to the front of the Crashdown.

Liz wiped her tears, and turned away from Max.

Max lowered his gaze to the ground. " Liz, I need to speak with you about what happened earlier." Liz silently nodded, but refused to look at him. Max knew that she was angry, and she had every right to be. " Liz I know that you're angry with me..." Max was interrupted, as Liz stood up and spoke. " No Max I am not just angry, but hurt. I love you, and I know you love me, but time after time you continue to push me away. Max, why are you so afraid. Afraid to love me?" Liz bit her lip, as the tears began to stream down her cheeks again. Before Max could respond, she spoke again.

" I live everyday in hopes that you will overcome this fear,and return your feelings. We may be biologically different, but regardless I have feelings Max. I don't care where you come from, nobody deserves to be treated this way. If you don't want me then fine, but you don't have to keep coming to me and pleading your love and then running away. I can't do it anymore Max." Liz didn't want to cry in front of Max anymore than she had to. She began to brush pass him, when he grabbed her arm forcing her to look at him. " You're right Liz. I have been a jerk. I do love you, more than anything. I thought that I could keep you at arms distance, but I was wrong. When I came to you the night of Michael's healing I said some things to you Liz. I was wrong. I was scared and stupid. Looking back I realize that we do belong together. Sometimes you need to take a step back to realize what's going on. Liz, I wasn't aware of how much our love determined my very existence. Please, I come back to you in complete honesty. Liz will you take me back?

Liz was in shock. She wasn't expecting Max to confront her like this. " Max, I need to think about all of this."

" I understand."

" Can you come by later tonight. I get off at 7P.M."

" I'll be there." Liz and Max were both speechless at that point as they stared into eachother's eyes. Liz shook her head and then took a step back. " Um, Max I should get back to work."

" Yeah,I understand." Liz nodded and then brushed pass Max. His lips barely touching hers, but she pulled away. Making Max want her even more. " I'll see you later then."

" Yeah, later." Max watched her leave. This is going to be a long night, he thought.

PART THREE-

Liz walked back into the front of the Crashdown, attempting to look calm and in control. She immediately noticed that Maria was staring at her. Liz gave her a look of reassurance. Maria nodded and Liz then headed out to the tables to resume taking orders.

Max decided not to walk back into the front, in hopes of avoiding confrontation, but his plan was quickly hauled to a stop....

Liz involuntarly glanced up at the Crashdown Entrance when the bell rang. She groaned in disgust and frustration when she saw who it was. Pam Troy. Pam had always given Liz a hard time about working at the Crashdown as a waitress. She also hassled her about Max. It was obvious to the entire student body that Pam had a major infacuation with Max. Liz sighed and then unwillingly greeted Pam. " Hi, and welcome to the Crashdown Cafe. Follow me and I can.."

" Oh save it. Just find me a seat."

" Ok sure." Liz rolled her eyes as she seated Pam.

" Thanks Liz. You sure do make a wonderful servant." Liz ignored her and then handed her a menu.

" Here is a menu. I will be back in a couple of minutes to take your order." " Hmm..Liz do you eat here?" " Yes I do..." " Oh thats right you live here. Anyway I heard that Max dumped you." " I really don't want to talk about it." " I can't blame him. He was already going out of his way when he began dating you." Liz wasn't having a good day as it was, but for Pam to speak to her like that, pushed her over the edge.

Max knew that voice. He cringed at the thought of her. Pam Troy. She had always bothered Liz. Max walked into the front of the Crashdown to see Liz talking to Pam. It was obvious to Max that Liz was hurt. Max clenched his jaw, and headed towards them.

Liz bit her lip, and attempted to ignore Pam's sick and rude attitude. " Um, Pam was there something that I could get you? Maybe an alien shake or bloody alien smoothy?" Pam rolled her eyes and then laughed.

" Liz, please. I'm here in hopes of seeing Max. Not to order your disgusting greasy food, but I guess I could order something. I will have a small diet coke."

" Okay, then. I'll have that up in a minute." Liz began to turn around as Pam threw another cruel remark. " Hey Liz."

" Yeah?"

" You might try it sometime."

" Try what?"

" Diet drinks." Liz clenched her jaw, and then took a deep breath.

Just then Max came up beside Liz. " Are you okay?" Liz half smiled and then nodded. " I am fine." Max knew she was lying. He was about to ask her again, but Pam interrupted him. " Hi Max. Why don't you take a seat and we can get caught up. I mean seeings how your no longer under the Liz Parker spell." Max sarcastically laughed and then eyed Pam. " No, Pam. I am afraid you've got it all wrong."

" What?"

" I am not available. For your information I am only interested in one and only one girl only. Liz Parker." Max smiled and then faced Liz. " My heart will always be under your spell." Pam rolled her eyes in disgust and then stood up, quickly leaving the Crashdown. Liz smiled as her and Max's eyes met. He then whispered, " 7:00 P.M." Liz nodded, " Yeah seven." Max nodded and then watched Liz head back to work, both of them carrying a loveable grin.

AT THE CRASHDOWN, 6:50 P.M.

Liz couldn't help, but continue to glance at the wall clock. " Ten more minutes."

" Ten more minutes until what?" Liz startled turned to see Maria smiling at her.

" Maria! Oh, um it's nothing." Maria crossed her arms and it was obvious to Liz that Maria didn't believe her.

" Liz, come on. What's going on? Does it have to do with a certain alien we know?" Maria asked with a twinkle in her eye.

" Maria, no."

" Liz?"

" Okay, well maybe...okay yes."

" So what's going on? And what's so special about seven?"

" Max is coming by. So that we can talk." Maria pulled a chair out and took a seat.

" About what?" Liz laughed and then also took a seat.

" Max asked if we could be a couple again." Maria jumped out of her seat and then wrapped her arms around Liz, squealing in excitement.

" Liz that's wonderful! I am so happy for you....wait? Why didn't you tell him yes then?"

" I didn't know."

" What? Liz you have been pining over him since the night of your breakup. What's there to think about?"

" Maria, it's just that. I don't even know what it is. What if Max and I get back together and then he decides that he needs to find his balance again? Sometimes I wonder if he even missed me as much as I missed him. Does he even still love me?"

" Liz are you crazy? The guy has fallen head over heels for you! It's quite obvious to the entire student body that he is obsessed with you, and I saw him declare his feelings for you right in front of Pam Troy! The slut." Liz and Maria broke into laughter. Neither one of them liked or cared for Pam.

" So what about you and Michael?"

" What about us? The guy is a stubborn mule when it comes to relationships."

" Yes that may be true, but it's obvious that he is crazy about you."

" Yeah well what guy wouldn't?" Liz playfully hit Maria just as the bell on the Crashdown door rang. Liz immediately looked up to see, Max smiling at her. -----------------------------------------------------------

Liz entire body froze, as Max approached her. " Hey Liz."

" Hey." They both stood in awkward silence, not knowing what or how to start the conversation. Maria sensed the tension and she knew that Max and Liz needed to be alone. " Well, I am going to go see if Michael needs my help." Liz smiled and then nodded. Max also nodded. Max and Liz waited for Maria to leave and then their eyes met again. Max shoved his hands in his jean pockets, " Um, Liz maybe we should go somewhere to talk." Liz stood up.

" Yeah, probably. I would suggest the backroom but everyone seems to always go back there." Max nodded and then suggested...

" How about your room?" Liz took a deep breath and then smiled.

" Yeah, okay." Liz began walking to her room with Max patiently following her.

Maria watched them retreat into the back and then upstairs. " Ohh." Michael shrugged his shoulders, " What's your problem?" Maria rolled her eyes.

" I'm not in the mood to deal with your attitude."

" Maria, this is who Iam."

" Well change it." Maria then began taking orders and Michael began flipping hamburgers.

Liz and Max entered her room, quietly. Max shut the door and then locked the door,using his powers. Liz removed her antennas and apron. She then sighed and began pacing back and forth. Max watched her, and he knew that she was nervous. Max was just as nervous as she was, but he kept himself from showing it. He then took a deep breath and began taking small steps towards her. " Liz?"

Liz still pacing, answered, " What?" " You're pacing." Liz stopped walking, bit her lip and then nodded.

" Yeah, I guess Iam." She glanced up at Max, and surprisingly he was already standing within touching distance.

" Liz?" Max seductively whispered.

" Yeah?" Max began caressing her cheek.

" I.. need to.." He was unable to finish his sentence for his wants took over. Max leaned in and kissed her. At first his kisses were gentle, but within minutes they were forceful. Max cupped Liz's face in his hands, bringing her closer to him.

Liz moaned, but it was muffled by them kissing. Max then dropped his hands from her face and brought them back around her waist, for support. Liz wrapped her arms around Max's neck. Liz wasn't sure if they should continue their makeout session, knowing that it would lead to more. She pulled back, and in between breaths, " Max, maybe..." Max didn't let her finish.

" Shh.." He then removed his leather jacket, and covered her mouth with his. As he kissed her, Max began to unbutton her work outfit, exposing her cream and lacy bra.

He, only for a second, broke their kiss and glanced at her, realizing that she was even more beautiful. Max began kissing her neck, as he fully unbuttoned her work outfit,letting it fall to the ground.

Liz ran her hands under Max's shirt and up his chest. Max shuddered at first, as Liz's hands roamed his muscular chest. She then lifted his shirt over his head and let it fall. Liz and Max both moaned as their bare skin, touched. Her hands roamed down his chest and to his waistline, unbuttoning his pants, and zipper.

Max groaned and then rested his head on Liz's shoudler as she finished undoing his jeans, letting them slide down to his ankles. Max began kissing Liz's neck. As a response to this, she whimpered, and brought her hands back around his neck. Max cupped Liz's bottom and easily lifted her upon him. Liz was a little surprised by this, but she quickly caught on and then wrapped her legs around his waist. Max and Liz both moaned, knowing their desires and wants were at it's peak Max gently laid Liz down on her bed, undoing her bra clasp, and throwing her cream bra onto the bedroom floor. He then positioned himself above her, and began kissing every exposed area of her body. Liz cried out his name, " Max.", and then arched her back, as he continued to kiss her. Her body shuddered as his hands lingered above her waist, and then slowly removed her underwear. The anticipation was killing both Max and Liz. Liz let her hands roam Max's body from his neck, chest and to his boxers. She then pushed his boxers so that they slid off his hips and bottom,until they fell to his knees. Max lifted his legs out of his boxers and then kicked them off the bed.

Max locked his eyes on Liz's. He instantly knew that Liz wanted him just as much as he wanted her. Slowly he lowered himself into her. Max and Liz both quickly responded by crying out the other's name. Max whispered to her, between heavy breaths, " You're the air I breathe...", Max moaned and then attempted to speak again, "..to live Liz."

Liz whimpered as their bodies continued to meet, " I love you Max."

" I love you Liz."

Max groaned loudly as he pushed his body harder into hers. Max's voice now deep, seductively whispered between breaths, " I..need more of you." Liz then cried out Max's name, " Max, I can't..stop." Liz and Max continued to push against the other, as Liz ran her hands through Max's longer black hair. Max brought his lips to Liz's. The kept making love until their bodies literally couldn't take anymore. They then fell asleep peacefully in eachother's arms.

2HRS. LATER-

Max woke up with a huge smile on his face, but how could he wake up anyother way? The woman who he loved and adored was lying next to him. Max loved the feeling he recieved when he thought about her bare skin touching his. Max still grinning, began to kiss her neck.

Liz woke up, to Max kissing her neck. Liz responded to this,by giggling.

" Max stop. That tickles!" Max laughed with her and then said, " I love seeing you smile."

" It's a natural reaction when Iam with you, Max."

" Liz, I love you." Liz smiled.

" I love you too, Max."

" Liz us making love felt..."

" Wonderful."

" And then some." Max began kissing Liz's lips when the phone rang. Max sighed and groaned in frustration, " Damn Technology!" Liz laughed and then answered the phone, " Hello?"

" Liz, it's Maria."

" Maria what's wrong? Wait, why are you calling me? Aren't you downstairs?"

" Um, Liz my shift ended 3hrs. ago. Where have you been?" Liz blushed and then continued.

" So what's going on?"

" I'm not sure, but everyone's at Michael's right now. We need you and Max to get your butts over here, a.s.a.p!"

" Okay we're on our way!"

" Okay bye babe!"

" Bye."

Max's face was expressing confusion, worry, and desire, as he asked, " Is everything okay?" " I'm not sure, but Maria said that we needed to head over to Michaels. Everyone's there." Max nodded and then quickly kissed Liz. Then they both got dressed and headed over to Michael's apartment.

MICHAEL'S APARTMENT-

Max and Liz darted into Michael's apartment to find Isabel, Alex, Maria, and Michael sitting down. It being obvious to Max and Liz that they were worried about something. Max always needing to be in control, grabbed Liz's hand and then asked, " What's going on?"

Michael stood up, immediately noticing that Max was holding Liz's hand. He then coldy remarked, " What, you two are an item now?" Max tightened his grip on Liz's hand and then said, " Michael! Why did you call us here?"

Michael rolled his eyes and then answered, " We're being watched."

" Being watched? By whom?" Michael sighed and then seriously said, " Men in suits. They could be the FBI, Max."

Max and Liz were in complete and utter shock from what Michael had just said. Max shook his head and then turned to Michael.

" The FBI?" Michael rolled his eyes.

" Yeah Maxwell. That's right, while you've been off making your and Liz's little relationship work.." Max let go of Liz's hand and stepped face to face with Michael.

" Stop it, Michael."

" Yes sir." Max clenched his jaw and then sighed. We need to work this out. Maybe it wasn't even the FBI." Michael shook his head.

" It was them. They were wearing black suits and they have been following us. It is only a matter of time before they come in and take us."

Isabel stood up and turned to Michael. " Stop it Michael. Quit talking like that."

" Listen Isabel. I don't like this anymore than you do, but we have to think on realistically. We aren't normal." Michael then turned to Max. " We aren't human. To play each day like we are normal teenagers is bullshit and it's going to catch up with us sooner or later."

Max shoved his hands in his jean pockets and then asked.

" So what do you suggest we do?" Michael glanced over at Maria and then back to Max.

" I think that we need to leave."

" Leave?"

" Leave Roswell for good." Max shut his eyes and then opened them.

" I need to speak with Isabel and Michael alone."

Liz feeling somewhat hurt, ran over to Max and grabbed his arm. " Max you can't keep pushing us away. Maria, Alex and I are apart of this now." Max wrapped his arms around her and whispered, " I know."

Alex stood up and began pacing back and forth before speaking.

" You guys can't just leave. Won't that give them more reason to suspect you?"

Michael sighed and then sat down beside Maria, putting his arm around her. " I think we need to vote." Max, still holding Liz, glanced over at Michael.

" A vote?"

" Yeah. Do we stay or do we leave?"

Isabel took a deep breath and then boldy said. " I don't think we should stay, but I also don't want to leave, mother." Michael sarcastically laughed.

" She's not your mother."

" Yes she is Michael!"

" Isabel we have a mother out there."

" I don't care Michael. She raised Max and I."

" Yeah, but she also thinks you are human." Isabel was on the brink of tears. Alex noticed this and then yelled to Michael, " Back off. You are such a jerk. Just because your life here hasn't been that great doesn't mean that you have to ruin everyone else's too!" Michael began to sit up, but Maria grabbed him and pulled him back.

Max rubbed his forehead and then yelled, " Stop it! All of you. We aren't going to ever come to a decision with everyone arguing. Isabel, what is your vote?"

Isabel wiped her tears and then sadly said, " I think that we should leave." Alex immediately wrapped her in his arms and held her as she cried.

Max then turned to Michael. " What about you Michael?" " You already know my vote, Maxwell. I think we should leave. We are only putting ourselves and the ones we care about in danger."

Liz waited patiently for what Max's vote. She didn't want him to leave, but a part of her knew that he would.

The room remained quiet, until Max took a deep breath and then softly said, " I can't leave." Isabel shook her head and Michael grew angry as he stood up and walked over to Max.

" That's great Maxwell. We will just stay and be killed. Is that what you want?"

" I didn't say that."

" So what are you saying?"

" I'm saying that we don't even know if it is the FBI. Why should we get up and run at the first obstacle we come across? I will not live my life that way. I pity the fool who believes that running is the way to live."

" Get out of my apartment."

" Michael!"

" No Maxwell. You are either against us or with us? Who are you choosing to follow? Us or the humans?"

" That's not fair!"

" Well life's not fair. Times a tickin. So you'd better hurry up and make up your mind. Because I sure as hell know that I am not waiting for you."

Max nodded and then ran out. Liz called after him, as she too ran outside and after him.

" Max!" Max stopped running, but he didn't turn around. Liz ran up to him and wrapped her arms around him.

" Liz I don't know what to do? Michael and Isabel are my family, but Liz you are the love of my life. My soulmate."

" Whatever you decide..Max, I will always love you." Max pulled Liz closer to him as he wept.

Michael stood in his apartment, watching Max and Liz, through his window. He then threw his hands up in the air and sighed,angrily. Michael then centered himself around Isabel, Alex, and Maria. " Can you believe him? He has already chosen humans.."

Maria wasn't going to let Michael carry on with his "hey I"m a jerk", attitude. She stood up and took a deep breath.

" Michael?" Michael sighed and then answered her.

" What?"

" How can you speak about Alex, Liz, and I like that?"

" Like what?"

" Like we are pieces of trash that happen to be here. We have done everything in our power to protect you guys. Even risked our lives. God Michael I even fell in love with you and here you stand bad mouthing all of us. I don't care what species or life form that you are. That isn't any excuse for your asshole behavior. I am done. Maria then ran out of the apartment,crying. Michael watched her leave, as he muttered, "Shit.", under his breath.

Max pulled back from Liz and then gazed into her dark dreamy eyes. " Thank you Liz Parker?" Liz giggled.

" For what Max?"

" For every kiss and smile. For letting me be me and most of all for loving me." Liz smiled and then lowered her gaze to the ground and then back to a smiling, Max. As he ran his fingers through her hair, Liz spoke softly to him.

" Max, knowing you has made my life a life. You have taught me so many things that I will take with me until the day I die. You taught me how to love Max and I don't care what Michael, the FBI, or any other person or obstacle says. Because I know that whatever happens or seperates us. In the end, we will be together. You are my soulmate, Max."

Max was in awe as a reaction to Liz's sweet and powerful words. Max attempted to find his voice, and after a few minutes of staring into her eyes, it came to him. " Liz..." Liz didn't need for him to explain. She knew exactly how he felt for he made her feel the same way. Liz seductively smiled and then leaned in, kissing him. Max instinctively wrapped his arms tightly around her,pulling her closer to him. Their embrace would have continued for quite sometime if they hadn't been disrupted by the sound of someone, crying. Liz and Max relunctantly pulled away from eachother and looked into the direction, of where the crying was coming from. Liz gasped when she realized that it was Maria. Liz immediatley ran towards her, wrapping her arms around her. " Maria, what happened?"

Maria wept a little longer before answering Liz.

" It's Michael."

" What about him?"

" Oh, Liz it's horrible. I don't think that he..the way he was referring to you, Alex, and me as if we were disgusting things or rodents!" Liz held tightly on to Maria.

" No, Maria. I'm sure their is an explanation."

" No, Liz there isn't! I no longer am going to stick behind him. He is no longer a part of my life. That goes for anyone or thing involved with him!"

Max feeling somewhat uncomfortable, shoved his hands in his jean pockets and waited for Liz to notice him. Not having patience at the time, Max cleared his throat, " Ahem."

Liz released a sorrowful Maria from her arms and glanced back at Max." Max what is happening to us? To all of us?"

" I wish I knew Liz. I wish I knew."

Maria wiped her eyes and then turned to Max. " Okay now that Michael isn't here, tell me the truth. Do you think that you guys are really going to leave, Roswell?"

Max felt a wave of uneasiness and fear overwhelm him and the fact that Liz's beautiful brown eyes were locked on his, didn't help. He knew that Liz would be supportive of him, but regardless in the end it would hurt her and that was the last thing that he wanted to do. Max lowered his gaze to the ground and spoke, just as Alex and Isabel were heading in their direction. " I..think so. I mean we have to. Michael's right. We aren't human or normal and we can't continue to play our lives that way."

Liz took a deep breath. She felt like someone had just punched her in the chest and knocked the wind out of her. Liz hadn't prepared herself for this. She wasn't angry at Max because it was his life and he had the right to control it, but it's almost if he betrayed her. Liz had stuck behind him through the good and the bad. As if they were in this together. Liz pulled away from Maria and stood up, facing Max. It took her minutes to regain her voice. Not wanting Max to know how hurt she was, Liz put on a bold front. " You're leaving?"

Max was about to answer when out of the corner of his eye he saw Isabel and Alex, listening and watching them. Isabel let go of Alex's hand and then approached Liz, Max and Maria. She then answered for Max, " Liz you have been with us for awhile now and you have helped us out, but no matter what..you had to of known that in the end we wouldn't be together. We are too different."

Liz held her tears back and then stood up for what she believed in. She wasn't going to let Isabel dictacte her life. " No Isabel that's not true."

" What?"'

" You, Micheal, and Max are always trying to find ways to different your self from us. Yes you weren't born here and you do have quallities and characteristics that we don't, but believe it or not, we are not that different."

" You couldn't possibly understand what it is like to be us!"

" You're right I couldn't. Why are you always throwing that in my face? I am not out to get you. Why do you keep pushing me, all of us away?"

Max sensing that Isabel was about to breakdown, quickly interjected. " Liz stop."

Liz was not expecting Max to stand up for Isabel let alone use that tone with her.

Max immediately regretted what he had said. He was about to fix it, but Liz didn't give him the chance.

Liz walked over to Alex, with Maria following. They then began to leave.

Max not wanting Liz to leave, called out to her, " Liz!"

Liz turned around,but only for a moment. " You're right Max. I am going to stop.." She then jumped into the Jetta,as it sped off.

Max clenched his jaw and then swore, " Damn it." He then turned to Isabel, " Now what huh?"

" I don't know Max. I mean maybe it's better this way."

" That's bullshit Isabel. I mean you never liked Liz anyway."

" Max I never said that. They aren't like us."

" That doesn't matter."

" So what does then?"

" Liz Parker. I am in love with her and I won't let my stupid mistakes or ignorant family take that away from me."

Max then jumped into the Jeep, speeding after the Jetta.

Maria drove down the highway with Alex and Liz as her passengers. Liz sighed and then said, " You guys. I think that I was to harsh with Max. I was so angry that he was leaving that I threw all of these hurtful things at him." Alex shook his head, no. " No Liz you only told him how you felt." Maria nodded in agreement. " Yeah babe, you can't let yourself weaken."

" Weaken?"

" Listen these Czechoslavakians have some weird power over us. We have to stay strong."

" Maria."

" What?"

" You watch way too much Oprah." " Liz I only watch it 3x a week." Liz sighed and then sat back in her seat, as she glanced out the window.

Maria hit the steering wheel in frustration. Liz and Alex turned to her in confusion. Alex then raised an eyebrow and asked, " Maria what's wrong?"

" I am out of gas."

" No biggie. There is a gas station coming up."

Max drove down the highway, in hopes of catching up with the Jetta. He had too. Max wasn't going to let him and Liz stay on such bad terms. He loved her.

Maria pulled over into the side gas station. It was obvioulsy very old. They then waited for someone to wait on them. Liz rolled her eyes and then jumped out of the car, saying, " I will go get someone." Alex and Maria nodded as Liz began walking to the so-called mini mart. As she approached the door, something caught her eye. Liz frowned and then slowly looked to her right to see a man in a suit watching her. Liz gasped and then tried to remain calm. Quickly Liz headed back to the Jetta.

Maria and Alex saw her coming back towards the Jetta. Alex exchanged confused looks with Maria as Liz stepped back in the car. Maria sighed and looked to Liz.

" Liz babe, what are you doing?"

" Maria we need to get the hell out of here. There is a man in a suit watching us." Maria began to scream, but Liz covered her mouth. " Maria you have to be quiet. We can't cause a scene." Alex nodded and sat back nervously in his seat. " Maria come on let's go." Maria nodded and began to start the car.

Liz looked over to her right to the man approaching them and pulling a gun out of his jacket. " Oh my God! Maria, Alex he has a gun!" Maria screamed as she pushed on the gas pedal and sped out of the gas station.

Suddenly a shot rang out, breaking the backseat window and hitting Alex in the shoulder. Liz screamed, " Oh my God Alex!"

Alex yelled out as the bulled punctured his right shoulder. " Shit, Shit!"

Liz began unbuckling her seatbelt and crawling into the back when Maria cried out, " Liz what are you doing? "

" I am going to help Alex."

" Liz I am running out of fuel. It's almost on empty!"

" Just keep going Maria. He might follow us. Don't let him catch up with us."

" Liz we're in a Jetta!"

Liz sighed as she crawled into the back of the car to help Alex.

" Alex here." Liz began to take off her shirt.

" Liz, whoa I'm shot. This is no time to strip!"

" I have a tank top underneath. You can use my shirt to apply pressure to your wound."

" I knew that. Shit." Liz wrapped her shirt around Alex's arm and then tied it. " There. God Alex I promise that as soon as we find Max." Alex nodded and bit his lip attempting to keep himself from screaming.

Maria gulped as she continued to speed down the highway. As she glanced in her rearview mirror a scream escaped her mouth.

" Guys he is following us!!" Liz and Alex looked through the back window to see that Maria was right. Liz trying to remain calm said.

" Listen guys we just have to get somewhere more public. Maria drive faster!"

" Liz I am going as fast as I can! "

Alex groaned as he slumped down in the seat. Liz cried out.

" Alex, no. Please just hold on."

" I am holding. I am holding." Liz glanced back out the window to see a black car, tailgating them. " Oh God! "

Max continued to drive down the highway as he passed a run down gas station. He glanced over, but Maria's Jetta wasn't there. " They can't be too far ahead of me. Liz where are you?" Max pushed down harder on the gas pedal and sped down the deserted highway.

Just then another shot rang out, hitting Maria's left back tire. Maria screamed as she tried to keep the car in control. Liz and Alex held on, hoping that the man following them would leave them alone, but deep down they knew otherwise. Maria loudly said, " Guys what now? Where are those God Damn Aliens when you need them?" Liz gulped.

" Maria don't worry. Everything is gonna be okay."

" You really have been spending way too much time with Max. You are now starting to talk like him." Liz was too scared to care what Maria had to say about her and Max.

Alex sat up and glanced out the back window to see the man pointing a gun at them from outiside his car window. " Um guys?" Liz and Maria turned to Alex. " He's going to shoot!" Just then another shot rang out hitting Maria's back window, the glass shattering on Liz and Alex. The second shot rang out hitting Maria's right back tire. Maria screamed as she tried to keep the car in control, but it was no use. She whimpered as her chest and head hit the steering wheel.

Max's eyes widened at the sight of Maria's car spinning out of control and another black car shooting at them. Max clenched his jaw and hollered, " LIZ!!" He then sped up, rearending the black car.

The man groaned as he sped his car out of Max's grasp and drove away.

Max groaned, knowing that whoever was shooting at he friends and love was going to get away. Max slammed on his brakes and jumped out of the Jeep, running towards Maria's damaged car. Smoke was leaving her hood and the side doors were damaged. Quickly Max ran over to the driver's side to find an unconscious Maria. She had bruises on her neck and face from hitting the steering wheel. Max lifted her out of the Jetta and gently laid her on the pavement, bringing his hand to her chest in attempts to form a connection. Suddenly a jolt of pain ran through his body and Maria's eyes opened. " Max? "

" Don't worry. You are okay now."

" Oh God! Liz and Alex!" Max stood up and ran over to the passenger's door, opening it and gently grabbing onto Alex. As he did this a piece of glass cut his hand. Max groaned as his cut became more apparent, but he had to focus on Alex and Liz.

Max then laid Alex down and started with his bullet wound, then his cuts. Alex slowly woke up and looked to Max.

" Thank you Max."

" I owed you remember?" Alex laughed as Maria engulfed him in his arms.

Max then stood up, but this time it wasn't as easy. His body was weakening. He stumbled around to the other side of the car and opened the passenger's door. He didn't care how much pain he was in. All that mattered was that Liz was okay and in his arms. Quickly Max pulled Liz into his arms. She was unconscious and bleeding from the shattered glass. Max hated seeing her like this. It alone could kill him. He placed his hand over her wounds and chest, forming another connection. Suddenly images and feelings flooded his mind.

* Liz, Alex, and Maria speeding down the highway in pure terror.

* Liz's feelings after he had told her that he was leaving.

* How Liz had felt about him after they had made love for the first time.

Liz slowly opened her eyes to find herself in Max's arms. Before she could say or do anything, Max's mouth covered hers. After minutes of kissing her Max pulled away.

" Liz please forgive me. I was such a jerk earlier. I don't want to leave you for anything. When I saw you lying in the car, bleeding and hurt. I mean it hit me. I don't care about what Michael or Isabel want. Yes I love them, but I won't let them control my life. Alien or not it's my life and I am no longer going to bend or change who I am and what I want for the sake of others. I love you Liz."

Liz began crying tears of happiness as she wrapped her arms around Max's neck and kissed him. She then whispered, " I love you."

Alex and Maria watched as Max and Liz held one another. Alex smiled and put his arm around Maria and said, “ This is the way it should always be. Don’t you think?”

“ Definatley minus my mom’s ruined car.”

Max held Liz not wanting to let her go. He had almost lost her and the thought of her not being in his life terrified him. Liz rested her head on his shoulder as his scent filled her. She loved the way his hair smelt of a light spring rain and the way his strong arms cradled her. Liz wanted this moment to last forever, but she knew it couldn’t. She took one more breath and then slowly pulled back as she glanced into his eyes. “ Max?” Max smiled gently keeping his eyes locked on hers.

“ Yeah?”

“ I think we should hurry back to Michael and Isabel. They need to know what happened.” Max frowned and then rubbed the back of his neck. He knew that they needed to speak with Michael and Isabel, but a part of him just didn’t want to have to deal with Michael’s crummy attitude. “Yeah I know.”

“ Come on.” Liz began to sit up but Max stopped her by grabbing her shoulder,gently.

“ Liz you should really take it easy.” Liz smiled at his tender care for her. She then leaned in and softly kissed him.

Then the both of the walked over to Alex and Maria. Max now shifting into leadership mode, cleared his throat and boldy said,

“ Listen we don’t know who or what was chasing you. It’s obvious that there coming after you is because of me.” Liz shook her head no and touched his upper arm.

“ No Max. That’s not true.”

Max smiled sympathetically and then touched her cheek and sweetly said, “ Liz I don’t want to bring you harm. That’s why we are going to go back to Michael’s and tell him and Isabel what happened. After that Michael, Isabel and I are going to investigate.” Liz frowned and shook her head no again. “ No Max. Don’t keep doing this.”

“ Doing what?”

“ Maria, Alex, and I are apart of this now. You need us. Please don’t keep us in the dark.”

“ Liz I have made my decision.” Max then motioned for everyone to jump into the Jeep.

Maria then blurted out, “ Wait what about my mom’s car?!”

Alex laughed and then said, “ Maria use your cell phone and call AAA.” Maria blushed and then mocked.

“ Yeah I knew that.” Alex gave her a (yeah right look) and then they all stepped in the Jeep.

Maria and Alex were in the back calling AAA and Liz was sitting in the front seat pleading to Max.

“ Please Max.”

“ Liz I said no. Besides we are only going to be gone for a couple of hours.” Liz began thinking and then quickly blurted out.

“ Max what if this thing or person attacks us while you are gone?”

“ He won’t. He or it doesn’t even know where you will be. Liz don’t argue.”

“ Don’t be so stubborn!”

“ Me stubborn?”

“ Yes!”

“ I could say the same about you there Parker.”

“ Shutup Evans.” Max laughed.

He loved Liz's determination and commitment when it came to things that she cared about. " Do you trust me?" Liz turned to him.

" Yes."

" Then trust me when I say that you and the others staying behind is for the best."

" I am not a little kid." Max smiled and then mocked.

" Now Liz you keep that attitude up and it's straight to time out." Liz playfully slapped Max and laughed as she tucked a strand of hair back behind her ear. " You're such a jerk."

Alex and Maria didn't feel the need to interrupt for Max and Liz's interactions were quite entertaining. The four remained quiet for the rest of the ride realizing that they could have died and that what or whoever is chasing them wasn't going to give up so easily.

AT MIKE'S APARTMENT-

Michael and Isabel sat in his living room on the couch in silence. So many things had happened within the last couple of hours. Isabel brought her hand up to her forehead and complained, " I hate this." Michael turned to Isabel and asked,

" What?"

" Not being able to live life in peace. I am sick and tired of having to run and keep people whom I care about at an arms distance."

" Isabel we aren't human."

" Don't you think I know that?"

" No it's just that. You and Maxwell can't keep wishing for something that wasn't and isn't meant to be."

" No Michael it can. I won't let myself turn into a shallow ignorant person who dwells on the negative of every situation."

" What is that what you think I am all about?"

" You push everyone away using your alien background as an excuse. I didn't at first, but now I know. Michael I agree with Max about needing Liz, Alex, and Maria."

Michael stood up off of the couch and began pacing back and forth. He was about to respond when there was a repeated knock at his door. Rollling his eyes he walked over to the door and answered it by saying, " What?" As he opened the door Max, Liz, Maria, and Alex came rushing in. Michael put up his rude defensive mechanism and asked, " What the hell are you guys doing here?"

Maria sighed and then said. " Not now Guerin. None of us are in the mood to deal with your shitty attitude. Someone followed Alex, Liz and I."

" What?"

" Whoever or what it was shot at us."

" Was anyone injured?"

" Yes, but Max healed us."

Max nodded to Maria and then stepped in. " Michael we need to do something." Michael and Isabel both nodded.

" Maxwell, but what?"

" You, Isabel, and I need to investigate this. Alone."

Liz crossed her arms and lowered her gaze. She wanted to be a part of what was going on. Liz had to think fast. Suddenly an idea came to her. Quickly she spoke up, " Okay fine." Max turned to Liz, hoping that she understood.

" Liz it's for the best."

" Well while you, Michael, and Isabel are off investigating...Maria, Alex, and I are going to do our own investigating." Max sighed with frustration. He knew what Liz was doing.

" Liz I said you couldn't come with us."

" I am not going to."

" Liz you know what I meant!"

" Max you're not being fair!"

" I said no."

Michael and Isabel began grabbing their coats as Max was speaking to Liz. " Liz please. Stay here. I will see you later. I love you. " He then kissed her and him, Michael, and Isabel headed out.

Maria sat back in the couch and sighed. " Liz maybe Max is right. About us keeping a low profile." Liz threw her hands up in the air and asked.

" What? All of these things are happening and you just want to sit back. Come on! It would be a thrill an adventure. Besides I thought you didn't agree with the Czechoslavkians making all of the decisions? I mean do you really want them controllling you?" Maria raised an eyebrow and then jumped up. " No! There is no way the Czechslavkians are going to tell me what to do. Especially not Guerin!" Liz laughed and then glanced over at Alex. " Alex how about you?" He sheepishly smiled and then stood up.

" I wouldn't dare go against the wishes of two beautiful women!" Liz and Maria laughed as they hugged Alex. They then all grabbed their coats and headed out the door. Liz smiled and softly said,

" I guess I will be seeing you sooner that you thought, Max."

Max,Michael,and Isabel, in the Jeep, headed down the highway that Max and the others had been earlier. They were hoping that they would find some clues of to where the attacker had gone. Michael sat in the back, leaning towards the front with his hands on the front seats. " Listen guys. How do we even know that whoever we are chasing at his human."

Max gripped the steering wheel and answered.

" We don't."

Isabel sighed and then brought her hand to her forehead.

" Max I don't know if we should be doing this."

" Isabel we have to. Whoever or what this thing is almost killed Alex, Maria, and Liz. We can't just sit back and pretend it didn't happen."

Michael smiled and then remarked, " Finally our passive friend is taking a stand."

Max shook his head," I am just relieved that Liz didn't come. I don't think I could focus or handle knowing that she wasn't safe."

Michael nodded. " Yeah and besides we didn't need Maria biting our ears off either. I swear she never shuts up."

Max and Isabel laughed as the three of them continued down the highway.

MEANWHILE...

Liz, Maria, and Alex ran out of Michael's apartment and out into the parking lot when Alex called out, " Um guys! We don't exactly have any transportation." Maria and Liz stopped and turned around to face him, both of them realizing the same thing. A moment of silence passed before Liz remarked, " I always wanted to ride a bus."

Maria and Alex turned to Liz and smiled. The three of them then ran over to the bus stop that happened to be nearby. Maria opened her purse and asked, " How much do we need anyway?"

Alex scratched his head and then said, " I think it's a dollar or something..." Liz smiled and shook her head as the bus pulled up beside them. Liz nodded to Maria and Alex, motioning them to follow her.

As they stepped onto the bus, Liz paid the old bus driver and then sat down with Maria and Alex following. Once they were seated, Alex asked. " Um Liz."

" Yeah?"

" Where exactly are we going?"

" Your guess is as good as mine."

Maria gave Alex and Liz a disturbed and frustrated look.

" What? Are you saying that you have no idea where we are going?!?"

Liz bit her lip and nodded. She then leaned in and brought her voice to a whisper, " Whoever or what is following us...well it came to us, right? My thinking is that we roam around town and hope he finds us." Maria rolled her eyes.

" Liz that is the dumbest plan I have ever heard." Liz laughed and the whispered, " Actually I was lying. You see whoever attacked us was on highway 47. Highway 47 leads towards..."

Alex's eyes widened. " Towards Poleman Ranch."

" Exactly. I think that is our best bet. If this thing or person is alien then.." Alex and Maria nodded, now knowing where Liz's thinking was coming from. " I mean I know it's a long shot, but we have to do something."

Liz, Alex, and Maria sat back in their seats, nervously awaiting there stop.

Max, Isabel, and Michael drove down highway 47, in hopes of seeing or finding anything that might help them on their hunt for the monster who attacked their friends. Michael still leaning up into the front saw Maria's car being towed.

" Damn it must have been some wreck." Max shook his head, not wanting to remember that days events. Especially when Liz had been lying in the back seat in a pool of blood. Max shivered at the thought.

Isabel noticed this and then put her arm on Max's shoulder.

" Max are you okay?"

" Yeah I was just thinking."

Michael scanned the Jeep as if he was looking for something. Isabel turned around to the sound of him scrummaging around in the backseat. " Michael what are you doing?"

" Looking for food." Isabel rolled her eyes and turned to Max who was laughing.

Michael rolled his eyes and then sat back up in the seat. As he was doing this something caught his eye. Michael leaned forward and glanced out the side window to see a black car sitting on the side of the road. Quickly he slapped Max. " Hey Max look!"

" What Michael?"

" You said a black car was the one that was chasing Maria earlier right?"

" Yeah so."

" Did it happen to be a Black Cadillac?" Max slammed on the brakes and looked over his shoulder to see the same Black Caddilac that he had rearended earlier. Max then made a u turn and headed towards the parked Cadillac. Just as he was near the car pulled off of the side of the road and sped off.

Michael swore as Max pressed down on the gas and followed the Caddy.

MEANWHILE....

Liz, Alex, and Maria sat quietly as the bus came to a stop. Liz then stood up and turned to her fellow adventurers.

" Well I think this is our stop." Maria and Alex nodded as they stood up and quietly followed Liz off of the bus.

As soon as they were off, Maria turned to Alex and Liz.

" Okay now that we are on the side of the road..now what?"

Liz nodded." We walk."

" Walk?"

" Yeah Poleman Ranch is only 10 minutes from here."

" Liz I am in heels!" Liz sighed and then held her hands out. Maria shrugged her shoulders and handed Liz her red heels. Liz then tore the heels off and handed them back to Maria. " There now they are more like sandals." Maria laughed. " Such a genius."

Alex shook his head and put his arms around Maria and Liz.

" No she is a scientiest." Liz pointed her finger at Alex and corrected, " No a Molecular Biologist." Alex raised a hand and dramatically said, " I stand correctied."

The three of them laughed and continued joking as they walked down the side of the road. Just then Maria's eyes widened as she swore she saw Max's Jeep heading their way. Quickly she slapped Liz and Alex. " OMG is that Max?"

Liz panicked and turned to see that Maria was right and they were chasing someone. The same car that had been following them earlier! Liz gasped as she pushed Alex and Maria down into the ditch. She then jumped in after them as she yelled, " You guys stay down!"

Maria complained," If you wanted us to stay down why didn't you say so!" Alex then piped up, " Yeah I am not exactly Mr. muscular or athletic."

Liz sighed and then pointed out, " You have dodgeball." Alex shrugged his shoulders and nodded. " True I am one mean Dogdeball Player." Maria and Liz snickered and then became quiet as the Jeep and other car approached them.

Max and Isabel both rubbed and sqinted their eyes both thinking that they saw Liz, Maria, and Alex. Isabel rubbed the back of her neck and then stated, " They are at Michael's." Max nodded and then repeated, " Yeah they are at Michael's. Liz wouldn't go out after I told and begged her not to." Max saying this more along the lines to reassure himself than anyone else.

Michael and Isabel exchanged looks and then turned to Max as Michael said, " She's just as trustworthy as I am."

At that comment Max made another u turn and headed back towards where he thought he saw Liz, Alex,and Maria. Just then Isabel smacked him, " Max what are you doing??! The guy is going that way!"

" I have something more important to do first. Besides I memorized his license plate."

Liz, Alex, Maria felt the coast was clear. They then crawled out of the ditch. As soon as Liz, Alex, and Maria stood up they began brushing off the dirt and dead grass that had clung to their clothes. Maria began fixing her hair when she realized that the Jeep was heading towards them. A loud gasp escaped Maria's mouth. Alex and Liz were both startled as they ran over to Maria. Alex put his arms on Maria and asked, " Maria what is wrong?"

" Oh God. We are in so much trouble!"

" Maria calm down. What are you talking about?"

" Look?" Maria then pointed behind them.

Liz frowned and then her and Alex glanced over their shoulders to see the Jeep pulling up beside them. Liz felt her entire body tighten for she could see Max's piercing brown eyes clearly through the front windshield and boy did he look angry.

Max shut the Jeep engine off and then stormed out of the driver's side.

Michael shook his head in disbelief. What had Maria been thinking? He then followed Max out of the Jeep.

Isabel was in shock. Why would Alex be so stupid and risk his life for answers? She shrugged her shoulders and hopped out of the Jeep.

Max took a deep breath and then approached Liz.

Liz took a deep breath and tucked a strand of hair back behind her ear. Max was now close enough that she could feel his breath touch her skin. It made her a little nervous for she knew that Max was angry. Liz nodded and then began to speak, " Max..." She was unable to finish for Max's commanding voice stopped hers.

" Liz what in the HELL were you thinking? You could have gotten hurt. Besides that fact that I told you to stay at Michael's apartment. You told me that you would stay there and you lied to me!" Liz clenched her jaw and then yelled back. " You lied to me too!"

" Don't even start with me."

" You promised that you would involve me in your life. That I was part of the group, but no. Whenever something dangerous strikes you push me away!"

" Don't blame this on me!"

" No but of course not. Max you are never wrong."

" I didn't say that."

" You didn't have to!"

" Listen Liz. I am not arguing with you on this anymore. Now get in the Jeep."

" No. Alex, Maria, and I were in the middle of doing something."

" Well it's over now."

" Says who?"

" Says me!"

" Max you can't be in control of everything. Especially me."

" Liz I don't."

" Yes you do. Please don't keep treating me like Iam some fragile thing."

" You are."

" Excuse me?" Max sighed and lowered his voice to a sweet whisper.

" Liz your well being..knowing that you are alright keeps me going. Your state of well being is the basis of my heart." Liz couldn't help, but smile. No matter how bad her and Max fought he was always able to fix things. She smiled and then leaned in and kissed him.

Max pulled back from Liz and cupped her face with his hands.

" Liz don't you ever do that to me again! Do you hear me? I am serious. This isn't a joke. You could have gotten hurt and I wouldnt have been able to help you. God Liz. I don't tell you to do things to piss you off or to be in control but because I love you and damn it Liz. If anything ever happened to you..."

Liz lowered her gaze and nodded. She paused for a moment before meeting his eyes again and stating, " You're right."

" Liz I told you...wait I am? I mean I know." Liz half~smiled.

" Max I just really want to help you and the others. It can't stand the fact of you out hunting down dangerous men or things without me. I mean don't you think I knew what the risks were when I found out about who you really were? Max I chose to be a part of this. It just hurts when you keep me in the dark."

Max smiled and then brought his hand to her chin, lifting her lips to his. Before kissing her, Max whispered, " Liz I know you know the risks and thank you for looking out for me and the others. But we need to be careful now. More than ever. I can't let you stand here and take the blame because I am also at fault. My concern and worry that you might be harmed blocks my view on what's really going on. You are becoming an even more beautiful and mature woman. I know that. I promise not to keep you in the dark from now on for that is the last thing that I would ever want to do."

Liz tucked a strand of hair back behind her ear and nodded. She then glanced up at Max and smiled, " Thank you."

" Sure." Liz and Max remained staring at the other, obviously forgetting that everyone else was impatiently waiting for their next move.

Isabel crossed her arms and sighed. " Max now what are we going to do?" Max reluntanctly turned away from Liz and glanced over at Isabel.

" I don't know. I mean whoever or what is still out there. The only thing that I am sure of is that we need to stay together." Max quickly glanced at Liz and smiled.

Isabel nodded. " I understand that, but don't you think we would find things quicker if we were in smaller groups? That way we would be together, but not alone."

Max sighed. " Yeah I know."

Michael rolled his eyes and then yelled out, " Great now let's go!" Maria scoffed.

" God could you be anymore rude?"

" What?"

" Forget it."

" I am so sick of your mouth."

" Ditto." Michael sighed in anger.

" Shutup." Maria rolled her eyes and turned to Max.

" So what are the groups?"

Max shoved his hands in his pockets and declared, " I honestly believe that it would be for the best if the groups went like this, Isabel and Alex, You and Michael, and Me and Liz.

Maria's mouth dropped. " What you want me to be with him?"

Michael crossed his arms. " Hey get over it. I am not exactly thrilled with the whole fucking idea either,but get over it." Maria just moaned.

Alex cleared his throat, " Well Isabel I guess you and I are um going to be alone together." Isabel smiled.

" Alex nothing is going to happen."

" Well yeah of course. I mean I knew that."

" I know you did." Alex and Isabel laughed.

Liz frowned, " Wait a minute. We don't exactly have 3 vehicles."

Max bit his lip and began thinking. Liz watched him as he did this. She loved it when his eyes grew serious and the way his eye brows curled when he was thinking. Liz giggled, bringing Max out of his deep think. He immediately glanced over at her and smiled. Max then declared, " Um Isabel, Alex, Micheael, and Maria. You guys can take the Jeep back to town and decide who gets the Jeep or the bus."

Alex gave a sneaky smile and asked Max, " Um what about you and Parker?" Max turned beat red and then sweetly said,

" I think we will continue walking." Max then glanced down at Liz, to see her smiling just as he was.

Alex laughed and then scratched the back of his neck before clearing his throat and remarking, " Okay guys. Let's get a move on shall we?" Isabel smiled and nodded. Michael and Maria both moaned as they shrugged their shoulders and headed back to the Jeep.

Max and Liz were to fixated on one another that they didn't really sense the tension among Michael and Maria. To be honest with you at that moment neither one of them really cared. Liz bit her lip and smiled as Max reached down and grabbed her hand. Gently of course. They then slowly began walking down the road, not really sure why, but knowing that they could now enjoy some time alone.

Maria scoffed as she sat in the back seat. Michael rolled his eyes and glanced over at her, " What is your problem now?" Maria crossed her arms and stated.

" Well if you really have to know..."

" No I don't."

" Then why in the hell did you ask?"

" I don't know. Just shutup."

" Upchuck."

" What the hell?"

Isabel was in the driver's seat and Alex was in the passenger's seat. Both of them chuckled. For they found Michael and Maria's interactions more than funny. Alex glanced back at Michael and Maria. " She just called you barf." Michael clenched his jaw and then feeling insulted glared at Maria. " Is that true?"

" Well for one you stink, you're unpleasant, and you come from a strange place. Hey it could have been someone's mouth." Michael crossed his arms and muttered, " Bitch ", under his breath as she shifted in his seat so that he was turned away from Maria. Maria smiled, knowing that she had gotten to him.

Liz still holding Max's hand, sweetly smiled and looked up at him. " So Max. I need to ask you something."

" Sure. Anything." Liz teasingly asked.

" So why did you decide to walk?" Max smiled and then playfully glanced around them, pretending like he didn't want anyone to hear. He then whispered, " Well Parker, if you must know. I like this. Being alone with you." Liz giggled and then tucked a strand of hair back behind her ear. " Yeah I like it to. Being alone with you. I mean."

" Prove it." Liz laughed.

" Prove it?" Max playfully continued the conversation.

" Yeah. I mean how do I know that you aren't using me."

" Using you?"

" Sure. Being with an alien isn't something that all human girls get to do."

" Hmm..I think I might be able to defend myself."

" Really and what's that?" Liz stopped walking and stepped in front of Max. She then whispered, " This." as Liz leaned in, bringing her lips to his.

Max immediately responded by parting his lips to meet hers. He then wrapped his arms around her waist as he deepened his kiss. His tongue lightly and sweetly skimming hers. Liz quietly moaned as she brought her hands up around Max's neck. Within minutes flashes began to swirl through Liz's mind.

* A disorted figure which resembled a man, but the feelings described alien.

* The man or creature burying an object. An oval object.

* Stars and the Milky Way. Then Earth appears.

Liz pulled away from Max and gasped, " Max?"

Alex and Isabel pulled up by the bus station and then parked the Jeep. Isabel then glanced back at Michael and Maria and said, " Hey I think it would be best if you guys took the bus. Seeing how neither one of you are good drivers." Michael and Maria made a face and then mumbled as they stepped out of the Jeep. Isabel called after them,

" I will come get you guys here in a hour. Then we will go get Max and Liz." Michael waved and then ran his fingers through his ever so spiky hair. Maria sighed and then crossed her arms as Isabel and Alex pulled out of the bus station.

Maria glanced over at Michael, " Okay now what?"

" I don't know. You tell me. I'm just upchuck." Maria sighed. " Listen I don't think that you are upchuck, but I do think that you are a jerk." Michael threw his hands up in the air. " A jerk?"

" Yes a jerk."

" How do you figure?"

" You treated me like shit earlier today. God Michael! Liz, Alex and I have done everything for you and in return you push us away. You pushed me away."

" I didn't mean for it to be like that."

" How did you want it to be?"

" Listen I just don't do this."

" Do what?"

" Get intense like this. I have never felt like this towards anyone before."

" Really?"

" Maria I care for you deeply. I just don't want you to get hurt. Sometimes I think if I keep you at arms length that you wont get hurt."

" That's not right."

" I know and I saw that today. When you and the others were hurt."

" I forgive you." Michael smiled and then pulled Maria in for a hug.

Isabel and Alex sped down the streets of Roswell, looking for anyone suspicious. While doing this Alex sat up and turned the radio on to KNRK. Isabel frowned and asked.

" What are you doing?"

" Music. It helps calm things." Isabel silenced and began listening to what was being played. She then laughed and mockingly said, " Yeah Limp Bizkit. It's calming alright."

" Isabel?"

" Hmmm?"

" Today when I was shot.."

" Alex please. We don't have to talk about this."

" Isabel yes we do. I almost died today. If Max hadn't came after Liz. Then we would have all died!"

" I know, but everything is okay now."

" It might now always be. Isabel I could die anyday now and if that were to happen then there is something I would like to know that I accomplished." Isabel pulled up to a stop light and then questioned, " Yeah and what's that?" Alex leaned in and kissed her.

Liz began breathing heavy and then said fearfully, " Max what was that? I mean I saw things."

" I know. I mean I did to."

" You did?"

" Yeah. What did you see?"

" Um a man or I dont even know if he was a man, but he was burying something."

" Burying something?"

" Yes, but I'm not sure what it was. Max and there was something else."

" Liz, what?"

" I think I saw the crash."

Max's eyes widened with surprise. He then stuttered, " The crash?" Liz bit her lip and nodded. " Yes. There were stars and it was like whatever I was seeing was falling through those stars and landing here on Earth."

" Liz we have to tell the others." Liz nodded.

" Max?"

" Yeah?"

" What did you see?" Max lowered his gaze and then hesitated.

" I....um can tell you later."

" Later?"

" Yeah I mean we should hurry and get back." Liz nodded and then suspiciously followed Max, wondering what he had seen.

15 MINUTES LATER-

Michael and Maria broke their hug and then hurried across the parking lot and to the next street where the bus stop was. Maria grumbled, " I hate buses." Michael laughed. " Me too. But it was either this or walking."

" Good point."

" Wait did I just hear you right?"

" What?"

" We just agreed on something."

" Yeah I guess we did. I guess miracles to happen."

" This alone could make me believe." Maria playfully slapped Michael as they waited for the bus.

Isabel pulled away from Alex, shocked. She had never known Alex to be so aggressive. " Alex." Alex sighed and nodded.

" You don't feel the same way for me as I do you. Am I right?" Isabel sighed. She did feel for Alex, but she didn't know if now was the time with everything going on and all, but then she thought of Max and Liz. No matter what was going on or what obstacles they were facing they managed to still love one another. Isabel didn't answer Alex right away.

Alex rubbed the back of his neck and then sat back in his seat, feeling really stupid. He wasn't the type to go all out with a girl or to show his true feelings, but with Isabel it was different. Why couldn't she admit she loved him just as much as he loved her? " Isabel the light is green." Isabel nodded and then surprisingly said.

" I know, but I don't care." Alex raised an eyebrow and then glanced over at Isabel,confused. Before he could say anything her lips were on his. She then pulled back and smiled, " I love you Alex." Alex smiled.

" I love you too." Isabel and Alex both feeling content with what had happened smiled and then pulled back from one another. Isabel then sat back in her seat. " We had better go get Max and Liz."

" Probably." Isabel then sped off down the road.

Michael and Maria were still waiting at the bus stop. Michael crossed his arms.

" Where in the hell is the bus?"

" I don't know, but it's getting cold." Michael quickly removed his jacket and handed it to Maria. " Here." Maria smiled.

" Thanks."

" Sure."

Isabel and Alex were driving down the streets of Roswell when they saw Michael and Maria waiting on the side of the road. Isabel laughed and then pulled over, and stuck her head out the Jeep window, asking. " Need a ride?"

Michael made a face and Maria smiled as they jumped into the Jeep. As soon as they were inside Alex asked, " What were you guys doing?" Michael rolled his eyes.

" We were waiting for the bus."

" No you weren't."

" Yes we were."

" No the bus stop isn't for another block."

Maria scoffed and then glanced over at Michael. Michael shrugged his shoulders and glanced out the window, feeling extremely embarassed.

Max and Liz had been walking for who knows how long, along side the road. Liz sighed and then asked, " Max can we stop for a minute?" Max glanced back at her and nodded. " Sure. Are you okay?"

" Yeah my legs just hurt."

" I know what you mean."

" Max?"

" Yeah Liz?"

" What did you see earlier?" Max's smile quickly faded. He then shoved his hands in his pockets and lowered his gaze.

" It wasn't important."

" Max!" Max shook his head and then sat down beside Liz. He then cupped her face with his hands.

" Don't worry about it Liz. Trust me." He then leaned in and kissed her.

Isabel, Alex, Maria, and Michael were driving down the highway when they caught a glimpse of Max and Liz kissing on the side of the road. Michael rolled his eyes and Maria smiled.

Max pulled back from Liz at the sound of a vehicle approaching. He glanced over his shoulder to see Bob. A smile of relief lit on his face. " Come on Liz." Max helped her up and then grabbed her hand, leading her towards the parked Jeep.

Liz quickly asked, " Did you guys find anything?" Everyone muttered no and shook their heads. Maria then asked.

" How about you?" Liz and Max exchanged looks and then glanced back at the others.

Max went into leader mode and then announced. " Earlier when Liz and I kissed. We got....um....we got flashes." Isabel stepped forward and curiously asked.

" You saw flashes! Of what?"

" The crash. Liz saw the crash."

" What?"

" Yeah and she saw a man burying something. An oval object."

" Oh My God." Isabel covered her mouth with her hands and Alex put his hand on her shoulder.

Michael crossed his arms and then skeptically asked, " Why didn't either of us get flashes? What makes you and Liz so special?" Max clenched his jaw.

" Knock it off Michael!"

" Make me Max!"

Max and Michael continued to argue while they were being watched from a far. The man in the black slacks and nice white top glanced over to the curly blonde haird girl. " That's them. The Royal four."

" I know. I could sense him. Who are the others?"

" I don't know. I believe they are their human friends. Which just cannot be."

" Oh. Did you bury the orb?"

" Of course I did, Tess."

" When will they find it?"

" I am not sure."

" Nasedo you said you had already come in contact with them."

" Just the 3 humans and the King. I tried to rid of the humans but the King got in my way."

" You can't hurt him!"

" Tess, pipe down. I have no intention of hurting the Royal Four."

Tess hit Nasedo's shoulder. " What do you mean the Royal four? Don't you mean there is the Royal three? I am the fourth alien!" Nasedo sighed and glanced over at Tess.

" I am not so sure anymore."

" What do you mean?"

" I know that you are a hybrid, but I have reason to believe that you aren't one of the Royal Hybrids."

" Nasedo that is ridiculous. There were 4 pods in the chamber. I hatched from one of the pods."

" Tess you were sent down by the Queen as Zan's or Max's bride, but you were not really his true bride."

" So who is?"

" However Max finds the orb or through is the true Queen."

" What so that means Max's real bride is a human?"

" Yes."

" But how is that possible?"

" Max I mean Zan was in love with another woman. She was his real first bride. She wasn't a Royal. The real bride is different than the aliens."

" Watch it."

" Don't push it Tess."

" Nasedo I don't care what you say. Something about him makes me feel wonderful."

" I know. In your former life you may not have been Zan's first love but he did at one point love you. As you did him."

" Wait what happened to his first wife?"

" She left him."

" Why?"

" Because she didn't feel that they belonged together that she wasn't his destiny, but he didn't give up on her. Regardless of his different love for you and marriage he always loved the other woman more than he did you."

" I can't let it happen. I have to let him know how much I love him. If he were to fall in love with me before the other would that change things?"

" I know only of the past. Not of the future. Come on now we must go now."

" No I want to watch him a little longer."

" Tess we don't have time for this. Once he finds the orb I buried then things will come into play, but untill then we must stay in hiding."

Nasedo grabbed Tess's arm and they both fled the area.

Isabel rolled her eyes and pushed her way in between Max and Michael. " Not now guys we have more important things to worry about. Please just stop this nonsense." Max sighed and nodded.

" Isabel's right." Michael took a step back and crossed his arms.

" Whatever.

Max took a deep breath and then glanced over at Liz and then back to Michael. " Listen. Liz has had flashes of a man burying something identical to an orb. We need to find out where." Michael shrugged his shoulders. " How do we even know if any of what Liz saw is true."

" Because Michael. I trust them. I trust Liz and by now you should to."

Liz walked closer to Max and reached for his hand. She then laid her head against his shoulder. Max responded by putting his arms around Liz's shoulder.

Maria crossed her arms, " Okay Liz. When you saw these flashes. Where was the person burying the orb? I mean what was the scenery like?" Liz lifted her head off of Max's shoulder and said.

" I am not sure. The flashes were short."

Alex rubbed the back of his neck and asked the question that everyone else was pondering, " What exactly were you guys doing when you had these flashes?" Isabel smiled and playfully hit Alex's shoulder.

Max clenched his jaw and defensively spoke, " We were only kissing."

Michael put on his rude attitude once again and stated, " Maybe you need to go further? Not that you haven't already." Max let go of Liz's hand and charged at Michael. Luckily Liz grabbed Max's arm and Maria did the same to MIchael. Liz sighed in frustration and began yelling,

" Okay you guys stop. This has gotten way out of control. If we don't start working together then we aren't going to accomplish anything!"

Everyone nodded in agreement with Liz.

Liz then sighed and spoke again, " I think that maybe we should just go back home and try to figure things out there. It might look somewhat supicious with us all standing out here." Max nodded.

" Liz's right. Come on let's go."

Max grabbed the Jeep keys from Isabel and took the driver's seat. Liz was in the passengers and Maria on Michael's lap in the back. Alex and Isabel sat side by side. Once everyone was seated Max started the engine and pulled out onto the highway and back to Michael's place.

Max arrrived at Michael's place dropping him and Maria off. He then drove over to his house and let Isabel and Alex off. Isabel asked Max, " I will cover for you." Max nodded and smiled.

" Thanks Is."

" Hey what's a sister for?" Max laughed and then drove over to the Crashdown. He parked in the back alley below Liz's room. The two of them climbed up the ladder and quietly entered her room. Once Max and Liz were inside she signaled for him to stay there while Liz went down the hall to make sure her parents were in bed.

Max removed his jacket and laid it on the bed post just as Liz reentered the room. She shut her door and nodded. " They went to bed." Max smiled. " Good." He then walked over to her door and sealed it with his powers. " Just in case." Liz smiled.

" Yeah that's probably a good idea." Max then turned around and wrapped his arms around Liz's waist pulling him to her.

" Liz I am sorry about Michael's attitude and for putting you in so much danger...." Liz hushed Max by pressing her finger to his lips.

" Max it wasn't your fault. Please don't ever think that. I choose to be a part of your life. I am well aware of the risks."

" But Liz...."

" But nothing Max. Everything that we have gone through has been worth it. I wouldn't change a thing. Well except maybe for that whole balance thing....Listen the point is Max. I love you." Max smiled and began pushing her towards the bed. " I love you Liz Parker." Liz giggled as Max and her fell onto the bed.

" I love you Max Evans."

" You know I was thinking...."

" Yeah about what?"

" Well with dangerous people around it probably wouldn't be safe for you to be alone."

" Oh I agree."

" Yeah so maybe I should...."

" Just stay here?"

" Yeah that seems um...."

" More efficient?"

" Yeah that's it. At this moment I can't....not....touch....you."

Max pressed his lips up against Liz's. Parting only for a moment to lift his shirt over his head. His lips then met hers again. Liz moaned and wrapped her arms around his neck, embracing his next move. Max quickly unbuttoned her shirt and unclasped her bra. His lips broke away from hers as he flung her bra and shirt to the floor.

Liz ran her fingers up and down his muscular chest. She then reached for his jean button and zipper. Max rested his head on Liz's shoulder as she pulled his jeans to his knees and with his help the jeans were completly off. With Max still resting his head on her shoulder. Liz ran her fingers around his waistline and then slowly she removed his boxers revealing his hardness. Max groaned and whispered Liz's name as she touched him.

Max clenched his jaw in attempts to keep himself from crying out. When he knew that he couldn't take anymore without yelling he brought his lips to hers as he fumbled with her jean button and zipper. Max brought his hands around her back and lifted her body with one hand and pulled on her jeans with another. As soon as they were at her ankles she pulled her feet out of the pant leggings. Max then lowered her back onto the bed and gently pulled her panties. Liz did the same with her jeans and Max threw them on the floor. He then began kissing her with an amount of passion that surprised Liz. She wrapped her arms around his neck crying his name. " Max please I need you."

" Just as I need you." Max thrusted into her and quickly put his hand over her mouth, muffling her cries of passion. He buried his head in her lower neck area in attempts to muffle his own cries of passion. Suddenly Max and Liz began to see things.

*Liz's flashes*

* A man burying an orb by a tower.

* The tower being black and tall.

* Soldiers running everywhere

*Max's flashes*

* A blonde girl sweetly calling his name.

* Him saving Liz that day in the Crashdown.

* A blonde girl sweetly calling his name.

* Liz and his first kiss on her rooftop.

* A blonde girl sweetly calling his name.

* Liz and Kyle in the Crashdown.

* A blonde girl sweetly calling his name.

* Him pulling Liz up against the back wall and

kissing her.

* A blonde girl sweetly calling his name.

* Him holding a lifeless Liz and crying.

Max rolled over on his back and Liz laid against him, her head on his chest. Max ran his fingers through her hair. What in the hell had he just seen?

Liz panted as she laid her head on his chest. What was happening to her?

Liz took a deep breath and then glanced up at Max. " Max I had another rush of images." Max gulped and began caressing her hair.

" What did you see?"

" I saw a man burying something by a black tower."

" Black tower?" Liz nodded and then sat up. She pulled the top cover of sheets around her and walked over to her nightstand grabbing a pencil and notepad. Liz then sat back down beside Max and began drawing. Max put his arm around Liz's shoulder and watched her as she finished drawing the picture. The tower looked very familiar to him, but why? What did it mean. As soon as Liz finished the picture and handed it to him. Then and there is dawned on him. The tower was the one near the crashsite. " I know this."

“ Well there’s something buried there.” Max set the notepad on the bed and turned to Liz.

“ We had better call the others.” Liz nodded.

“ Yeah I think so too. Um I guess they can just come here. We can talk about downstairs.”

“ Yeah okay.” Liz began to get out of bed but then stopped and glanced over at Max who was also getting out of bed. “ Max?”

“ Yeah?”

“ What have you been seeing?”

“ Seeing?”

“ Yeah I mean the flashes. You never told me.”

“ It’s really not important.”

“ No I don’t think that’s true.”

“ Liz.”

“ Max if what you saw didn’t carry any importance then you wouldn’t be so reluctant to tell me.”

Max lowered his gaze and sighed. He then stood up and began putting his clothes back on, not responding to anything Liz had said. What was he suppose to say? Oh by the way Liz I am having flashes of another woman and you die? Max finished getting dressed and picked up the phone, dialing his house number. After the second ring his mom, Diane answered. “ Hello?”

“ Hey mom it’s me.”

“ Max is something wrong? It’s 9:15 P.M.”

“ Mom it’s not that late.”

“ Max are you sure nothing’s wrong?”

“ No No nothing like that. Um I needed to talk to Is.”

“ Oh okay and tell Michael hello.”

“ I will.”

Max waited at least 3 minutes before Isabel answered the phone. While waiting he glanced over at Liz who was already dressed and sitting on the other side of the bed, obviously upset about something. Max sighed knowing why she was upset. He would tell her, but not now.

“ Max what’s up?”

“ What took you so long?”

“ Excuse me?”

“ To get to the phone. What took you so long?”

“ I do have company.” Max smiled remembering that Alex was over.

“ Okay I get the point. Listen I need you and Alex to get over here right away.”

“ Why?”

“ We know what the flashes meant.”

“ Oh my God. Yeah we will be right over.”

“ Oh and could you call Michael?”

“ Sure.”

“ Bye Is.”

“ Bye Max.”

Max hung up the phone and then stood up. “ Liz.”

Liz didn’t respond to Max verbally. Instead she pulled her knees to her chest and looked up at Max.

Max ran his fingers through his hair and walked over to Liz, kneeling before her. “ Please Liz. I need you to trust me.”

“ I do trust you Max. I just thought we could tell eachother anything.”

“ We can.”

“ So then tell me Max. What are your flashes about?”

“ I promise that I will tell you, but not now. Please have faith in me.” He then leaned in and cupped her face with his hands before kissing her. Max pulled away and whispered, “ I love you.” Liz smiled.

“ I love you.” Max ran his fingers through her silky brown hair and smiled.

“ We’d probably better get downstairs.” Liz nodded and then the two of then walked downstairs, holding the other’s hand.

Isabel pulled up to the Crashdown in her mother’s car with Alex, Maria, and Michael. She turned to Alex and kissed him sweetly before stepping out of the car, followed by Michael and Maria. Michael sighed and complained, “ Maxwell had better have something worth coming out here fore.” Maria rolled her eyes.

“ Oh please. It took maybe 15 minutes.” Michael scoffed and Maria sighed as they both followed Isabel and Alex into the Crashdown.

Max and Liz were already seated at a booth when they walked in. Max cleared his throat and then stood up. " Thanks for coming guys."

Alex rubbed the back of his neck and then asked, " So what is this all about Max? Liz?" Max nodded and then began explaining.

" Um when Liz and I were....anyway she had another flash. Of a man burying something. We didn't know where until tonight. It was being buried by a tower. Liz drew the tower and I immediately recognized it. The tower by highway 42...."

Isabel took a deep breath and then finished Max's sentence.

" by the crashsite." Max shoved his hands in his pockets and nodded.

" Exactly."

Michael scratched his head and then threw his hands up in the air.

" So what in the hell are we waiting for? Let's go check this baby out."

Liz jumped out of the booth and nodded. " Yeah I think so too." Max quickly grabbed Liz's arm and turned her towards him.

" No Liz you can't go. I mean I think it would be better if you stayed here with Isabel, and Maria."

" Max you can't be serious? Please let me help." Max smiled.

" Thank you Liz for being here for me and putting your life on the line to help me, but I beg of you....just this once. Please stay here."

Liz didn't want to stay while Max, Michael, and Alex went out, but something in Max's eyes expressed pure concern for her. Liz nodded.

" Okay I'll stay." Max pulled Liz into his arms for a hug and then kissed her on the forehead, whispering, " I love you Parker."

Michael and Alex grabbed their jackets and waited for Max as he said bye to Liz.

20 MINUTES LATER~

Max, Michael, and Alex arrived near the tower. Each of them needing to know what the flashes meant and if they were real, but each a little afraid also. Michael was the first to jump out of the Jeep followed by Max and Alex.

Alex grabbed Max's arm. " So um Max where exactly are we suppose to be looking?"

" Liz said it was on the right side of the tower by the power box."

" All righty then. Let's get this show in the road."

Michael laughed. " For once Whitman I am 100% with you on this one."

The three of them walked over to the tower and onto the right side near the power box. Max gulped and began scanning the area before stepping beside the power box. " I guess this is where we start digging."

Alex and Michael nodded and began digging. Max grabbed a shovel from Alex and he too began digging. All three of the guys were straining their muscles in attempts to discover what was buried there. All of a sudden a bright blue light shot up from the ground, startling Max, Michael and Alex.

Max spread his arms out to keep Michael and Alex back. As soon as the light disappeared Max quickly knelt and reached for the glowing object, lifting it into plain view. Alex and Michael stepped back in amazement and surprise. Michael then stated, " I guess Liz was right." Max turned to Michael and asked defensively,

" Of course she's right. Did you think she made what she saw up?"

" No Maxwell. Never. It's just that it means that the flashes are real." Max cringed at the thought. Did that mean what he saw before about Liz and the blonde girl were real? Max quickly spoke before realizing it was a mistake.

" No Michael they can't be real." Michael and Alex exhanged confused looks and then glanced back at Max, awaiting an explanation. Max feeling somewhat awkward gulped and then said, " We need to get back to Liz, Maria, and Isabel." Michael and Alex nodded still both confused by Max's sudden outburst, but they both decided to leave it alone. It was probably nothing. Well at least they thought it was.

MEANWHILE AT THE CRASHDOWN~

Liz, Maria, and Isabel were sitting at their usual booth talking about their beloved ones Max, Michael and Alex.

Liz sighed and then openly asked Maria and Isabel. " Um have either one of you guys noticed anything different about Max?" Isabel and Maria exchanged unknowing looks. Isabel then replied.

" I have noticed anything out of the usual. I mean Max and I are close but I have to be honest with you Liz. If anything was bothering him I would think you to be the first person that he would go to."

Maria nodded. " Yeah babe. I agree with Isabel. Why did he say something to you?" Liz sat back in the booth seat and responded.

" No see that's just it. He isn't saying anything. Especially with this whole flashes thing. He seems so closed off. I feel like he is distancing himself from me."

Just then the bell on the Crashdown entrance doors rang catching all of the girl's attention. The visitor was a stranger to Liz, Maria and Isabel. None of them ever seeing her before, but there was something different about her. She was a little shorter than Liz with curly blonde hair and bright blue eyes.

Liz cleared her throat and then stood up, smiling. " Hi can I help you?"

" Hi yeah I hope so. I am new here and I was under the impression that you guys were open." Liz thought for a moment and then remembered that she hadn't removed the open sign.

" Actually we are closed, but you are welcome to hang with us for awhile. I am Liz."

" Nice to meet you. My name is Tess." Liz bit her lip and nodded. She then walked over to Maria and Isabel.

Isabel felt something about her, but she wasn't able to figure out what it was. " Um hello I am Isabel Evans."

Maria put on a fake smile. " Hey I'm Maria."

Tess smiled and nodded. " It's really nice to meet all of you." Isabel smiled. " I take it you have done this before?" Tess laughed.

" Only about 100 times. I'm hoping to meet new people and make new friends."

Liz pulled her hair back and smiled. " Um Tess can I get you anything to drink?"

" Yeah a cherry coke with lime."

Liz, Maria, and Isabel all exchanged suspicious looks. They knew that a cherry coke with lime was Max's favorite drink and that it wasn't exactly a human mixture of a drink. But what were they thinking? They couldn't be suspicious of every single person they met.

Max, Michael, and Alex pulled up into the Crashdown parking lot excited to show the girls what they had found. None of them expected to find anything, but they did. It could be a clue to finding out more about Michael, Isabel and Max's planet, Antar.

Max bolted through the Crashdown doors with Alex and Michael following him closely, but he was haulted to a stop at the sight of a girl their age with curly blonde hair.

Michael and Alex groaned in frustration as they pushed Max out of the way so that they could get inside to greet Maria and Isabel. Max remained standing there. What in the hell was he seeing? Where had he seen this girl? In his flashes. The flashes couldn't be true. He couldn't lose Liz. She meant everything to him. Suddenly a rush of panic, fear and panic ran through him.

Liz smiled at Max, but he was occupied with something else. No someone else. He couldn't seem to stop staring at the new girl, Tess. Liz was about to say something to Max, but he had beat her to it.

Max clenched his jaw and began slowly walking towards Tess. It being obvious that fear and anger were present in his voice. " Who the hell are you? Why are you here? What do you want from me?"

Tess gulped and then glanced around the room feeling very confused.

" I am sorry. I have never seen you before. I just moved here to Roswell."

" No I have seen you before. I've seen you!"

Max groaned in frustration and quickly turned to Liz. The love that she had for him was overwhelming. He felt it everytime he looked at her. He couldn't lose her. Max ran over to her and grabbed her arm leading her up the stairs and to her bedroom.

Michael was holding Maria when he asked, “ What the hell is up with Maxwell?” Maria shook her head.

“ Beats me.”

Alex cleared his throat catching everyone’s attention. “ Um listen don’t you think we should talk about that Biology project were working on?” At first

Isabel wasn’t sure what Alex was talking about, but it then dawned on her. “ Yeah Alex good idea.”

Michael sighed and then glanced over at Tess, speaking for everyone else, but with a harsher tone and words. “ Hey uh whatever your name is. I think it would be better if you left.”

Tess was surprised by Michael’s words. “ Um sure. I’ll talk to you guys tomorrow at school then.”

Isabel and Maria nodded and then waited for Tess to leave. Maria was ready to speak, but Tess hadn’t quite made it out the doors when she turned around and said, “ Please tell the dark haired guy that I am sorry for whatever I said or did.” Michael rolled his eyes.

“ Yeah whatever. Bye.” Tess sighed.

“ Bye.”

As soon as Tess had left Maria slapped Michael. “ God Michael could you be anymore rude?” Michael shrugged his shoulders.

“ Listen guys she’s a stranger.”

Isabel rolled her eyes. “ Oh my god Michael she just moved here. Give the girl a break.” Michael groaned.

“ Isabel we can’t keep pretending that we are normal because if you haven’t noticed we aren’t!”

Alex shook his head and stepped into the conversation, defending Isabel. “ Michael I think we need to stop placing the blame on everyone. It wasn’t anyone’s fault that Tess stopped by.” Michael rubbed the back of his neck. “ Yeah you’re right. Sorry or whatever.” Alex sighed.

“ So what about Max? He kind of went overboard earlier.”

“ Yeah no shit.”

Maria put her hand on Michael’s shoulder. “ Listen Liz is with him I am sure everything is fine. So what happened with you guys? Did you find anything?” Michael nodded as he reached into his coat pocket and pulled out a oval shaped orb with the familiar cave painting sketched on the front.

Isabel and Alex moved closer to Michael and Maria. What had they found? And was it from their home planet, Antar?

LIZ’S ROOM~

Max pulled Liz into her room and slammed the door. Liz didn’t have the slightest clue of what was going on. She placed her hand on Max’s upper arm and calmly asked, “ Max what was that about? I mean the way you acted downstairs? Do you know Tess?” Max cringed at the name.

“ No please Liz let’s not talk about Tess.”

“ Max what is it about her that bothers you?” Max ignored Liz’s question and cupped her face in his hands and then kissing her forcefully. Before Liz could say or do anything she was being lifted into Max’s arms and being laid down on the bed. Max hovered over her small body kissing her passionately and with a force she had never seen before.

“ Max....”

“ I can’t not touch you....please Liz I need you.

Liz moaned as Max’s lips touched her body. She needed him just as much as he needed her. Before Liz could respond to him any other way a rush of images raced through her mind.

*FLASH STARTS*

* Her walking across a street.

* The rain falling onto her hair and down her body.

* The sound of her footsteps tapping against the asphalt.

* A smile spread across her face and swollen lips from kissing Max good night.

* The Crashdown coming into view.

* Hearing someone else's footsteps other than her own.

* A undescribable pain in her right side as a sharpened object stabs into her tender skin.

* Max's voice screaming her name.

* Her falling as her face and body hit the sidewalk in front of the Crashdown.

*END FLASH*

A gasp escaped Liz lips as she pulled away from Max.

Max frowned and then a look of concern appeared on his face. " Liz did I hurt you?" Liz bit her lip and shook her head no as a tear slid down her cheek.

" No." Max placed his hands on her shoulders and brought her closer.

" Liz what is it?"

" Max I had a flash."

" What did you see?"

Liz was prepared to tell Max how she felt, but was she doing the right thing by telling him? He had so many things on his mind right now. She would wait and tell him later. It probably meant nothing. " Um no it's nothing."

" Liz please tell me."

They were both startled by a knock on her bedroom door followed by the ever familar voice of Mr. Parker, " Lizzie are you all right?"

Liz sighed and pushed Max off of the bed. He quickly rebuttoned his shirt and ran towards her window, but before leaving he gave her a sweet kiss and then fled out her bedroom window. Liz wiped her eyes and walked over to her bedroom door, opening to see her father standing before her. " Lizzie have you been crying."

" Yes dad, but it wasn't for me. I mean Maria called and she is going through this horrible crisis."

" Oh geez. Please tell her that I hope things turn out okay."

" Oh yeah I will."

" Well you get some sleep. You have school tomorrow."

" Don't worry. I will. Good night."

" Night sweetie."

Liz gave her Dad a hug and then waited for him to walk away from her room before shutting the door. A part of her was glad that he had interrupted her and Max. Liz shivered and then leaned back against her bedroom wall and crossed her arms as she slid down to the floor. Within seconds tears were streaming down her eyes. Who was she kidding? The flash scared the hell out of her.

Max climbed through his bedroom window to see his mom Diane and his dad Phillip sitting on his bed with their arms crossed. Max groaned and then gulped. " What are you guys doing up?"

Phillip sighed. " Max where were you?"

" Michaels." " Are you sure?"

" Huh?"

" I called Michael's and you weren't there." Max groaned. Damn Isabel. She was suppose to cover for him. " Max where were you?" Max sighed and lowered his gaze.

" I was at Liz's house."

Diane glanced over at Phillip and then to Max. " Max what were you doing at Liz's house at such a hour?"

" Not much really."

Phillip sighed and then bluntly asked even though he dreaded doing it. " Max are you and Liz sexually active?"

Max couldn't believe what was happening. How was he going to answer his Dad? Max closed the window and shoved his hands in his jean pockets.

Phillp turned to his wife Diane, giving her a knowing look. It was obvious to both of them that Max was no longer a virgin and this scared them beyond belief. Their little boy was becoming a man. Phillip cleared his throat and dealt with the situation the best way he knew how. " Max I think you and Liz need some time apart."

Max's head and gaze shot up and eyed his father, " What? You can't be serious!"

" Now Max you and Liz have been together a lot lately and your grades are slipping. I think you need to find some sense of control. Some balance."

" You can't keep me from Liz."

" I do like Liz as does your mother. She is a wonderful girl, but it isn't healthy for you to be basing your entire existence on one person. I am doing this with the best of intentions. I am going to call Jeff and Nancy and I know that they would agree."

" No I won't let you do this."

Diane placed her hand on Phillip's shoulder and then spoke to Max. " Max honey. I know this must be hard and I know it seems horrible now, but I think you will understand where we are coming from in a couple of days."

Max clenched his jaw and then took a deep breath. " I have done everything for you. I've always shown you large amounts of respect and I haven't asked much from you if anything. I play the perfect son."

Diane and Phillip knew that what Max was saying was true. Diane nodded, " Max sweetie. You are...."

Max quickly interrupted her, " Yeah and this is the thanks I get? You take me away from the one person that means everything to me?

Phillip stood up and firmly said, " While you are living under this roof you will the rules."

Max lowered his gaze and then paused for a moment before looking back up at his father. Max's face was emotionless with a layer of seriousness. " Then maybe I need to find a new roof to live under?" Quickly Max grabbed his leather jacket and keys before walking towards the front door.

Diane yelled after him, " Max please! Where are you going?"

Max stopped at the front door and glanced back at his mother and fahter. " Out." He then stormed out the front door.

25 MINTUES LATER~

Michael had just said good-bye to Maria, Isabel, and Alex when there was a knock at his door. Michael groaned and said, " Maria what?", as he opened the door, but to his surprise he found Max standing before him instead. " Maxwell?"

" Yeah can I stay here tonight?"

" Yeah. Fight with Liz?" Max sarastically laughed as he sat down on the couch. " No my parents."

" What? You and your parents fighting?" Max nodded.

" Yeah I said some things to them that maybe I shouldn't have."

" What was the problem?"

" They wanted me to quit seeing Liz."

" What the hell? Are you serious?"

" Unfortunately."

" Hey well stay here for..um..as long as you want." Max smiled and used this moment to tease Michael.

" I didn't know you cared?"

Michael threw a pillow at Max. " Shut up Maxwell." Michael then headed off to bed. He was too tired to discuss the finding of the orb and Max's scene with Tess.

Max removed his shoes and jacket before curling up on the couch and pulling a blanket over him.

Liz had fallen asleep in the sitting position that she had been in earlier that evening. As her sleep deepened a rush of images raced through her.

*FLASH STARTS*

* Her walking across a street.

*END FLASH*

Liz immediately woke up as a blood hurdling scream escaped her mouth.

At that very moment Max woke up yelling Liz's name.

Michael startled by Max's yelling fell off of his bed and grabbed a baseball bat as he ran out into the front room. " Maxwell?" Michael entered the room to see Max sitting up with sweat running down his face. " Maxwell what the hell is going on?"

" It's Liz. I have to go to her."

" Damn you've got it bad."

" This is no time to joke Michael. Something is wrong with Liz. If she had the same flash I did."

" Wait you had a flash? Of what?"

" Um no it was a personal one."

" Maxwell!"

Max put his shoes on and grabbed his jacket as he ran out of Michael's apartment.

Jeff and Nancy jumped out of their bed and ran down the hall to their daughter's room. Jeff quickly opened the door to see Liz sitting against the wall with a frightened expression consuming her entire being. He quickly ran over to her with Nancy following. " Lizzie oh my God. What happened?" Liz knew she couldn't very well tell her parents.

" I had a nightmare. I'm sorry for waking you up."

" No sweetie it's ok. "

Nancy put her hand on Liz's knee. " Do you want me to get you some warm milk?" Liz smiled and shook her head no.

" No really I'm fine now. Thanks." Her father nodded and kissed her forehead. The both of them then left and headed back to bed.

Liz waited for them to leave before she ran into the bathroom and got sick.

Max had jumped into the Jeep and sped over to the Crashdown, but he made sure to park in the alley way beside Liz's rooftop. He then darted up the ladder and to her bedroom window. He glanced into her room to see it empty. A streak of fear ran through him. What if something had really happened to her? Max was about to leave when he saw Liz walk out of the bathroom and she looked awful.

Liz wrapped her arms around her waist as she walked out of the bathroom and to her bed. If it hadn't been for the sound of knocking on her window she wouldn't have noticed Max. Liz gasped and quickly turned away from him. She didn't want him to see her like this. Of all the people it had to be him.

Max sighed when he realized that Liz wasn't going to come near the window let alone open it. He knew her exact reasoning for not wanting him to be there and it wasn't because she didn't love him or that she was angry. Max knew it was because she felt and thought that she looked horrible, but Liz couldn't be more wrong. Yes she looked troubled and like she wasn't feeling well, but his view of her or how he felt about her only grew with every waking and sleeping moment. Max reached out and touched the window handle and unlocked the otherside with his powers.

Liz heard the window click and she knew what Max was doing. She quickly ran into the bathroom and locked the door. Not that would do any good, but it was all she could do at that moment.

Max opened the window and climbed into Liz's room just as the bathroom door shut. He shut the window and walked over to the bathroom door. The closer he got to the bathroom door the louder her soft cries echoed in his ears and heart. Max lowered his gaze and then glanced up at the door with a sadden look painted on his face. He took a deep breath and sweetly spoke, " Liz please come out."

" Please just go away."

" I'm not leaving until you come out. I need you right now just as much as you need me. Liz I know about the flashes. I had them tonight to. That's how I knew that you needed me. Please Liz and I don't care what state your in. You should know that my love for you only grows regardless of what stage we are in our relationship or how the other is looking or feeling. I love you Liz Parker."

Max waited patiently as the bathroom door knob slowly turned to the right and then the crack of light from the bathroom shone onto Liz's bed. She opened the door and there eyes met for a moment before Liz threw herself into Max's arms. He more than willingly excepted the gesture as he held her with one hand around her waist and the other on the back of her head. He then whispered in her ear, " It will be okay." Liz kept her head buried in Max's shoulder as she mumbled, " Max I was so scared. The flashes scared me Max."

" I know they did me too, but I promise you...." Max pulled back from Liz and cupped her face in his hands, keeping his eyes level with hers. "....I promise to protect you. No one or thing will ever hurt you like that." Liz sniffled as Max wiped her tears away with his thumb. " I promise it will be okay." Liz lowered her head and sighed.

" Max what if...." Max cupped her face again and this time his voice was gentle with a hint of demand.

" No No Liz! Do you hear me? The flashes are just that. It won't happen." Liz nodded. " Max?"

" Yeah?"

" What did you see?"

" When?"

" You never did tell me what you saw, in yours."

Max grabbed Liz's hand and led her to the bed. The both of them sat down. He then turned to Liz. " The new girl, Tess."

" Yeah?"

" I was seeing her." Liz's eyes widened.

" How were you seeing her?"

" No it was just her face." Liz covered her mouth and gasped.

" Oh God Max and then she showed up? Max that means the flashes...."

" Aren't real. They aren't real Liz."

" What does she mean to you Max?"

" Nothing Liz. I love you and only you. Please you have to trust me."

" I trust you Max."

" I promise that whatever happens we will work through it together."

" I know we will." Liz leaned in and sweetly kissed Max's lips.

Max deepened the kiss as he brought his hands around her waist, pulling her closer. Liz scooted up on the bed and pulled Max with her....

THE NEXT MORNING~

Jeff Parker was combing his short hair to the side when the phone rang. He quickly answered, " Hello?"

" Hello Jeff this is Phillip Evans."

" Why Phillip what a surprise. Yes I know my Lizzie is quite fond of Max."

" The same for Max. I think that you need to know something and I am sure you would agree."

Liz woke up with Max's arms wrapped around her. She smiled and began to sit up in hopes of not waking him up, but it was no use. His dreamy brown eyes opened at the same time that she moved.

" Sorry Max I didn't mean to wake you." Max laughed.

" Liz the moment your body isn't touching mine a red warning goes off and I immediately wake up." Liz laughed and bent down to kiss him.

At that moment Jeff Parker knocked on Liz's door. " Lizzie?"

Liz gasped and Max jumped out of the bed and began getting dressed. Liz did the same.

Jeff could hear some rumbling around, making him believe even more that Phillip was right. He sighed and decided not to wait. Jeff turned the handle and opened the door to see Liz and Max sitting on her bed. Liz looked up at him. " Hiya Dad." Max blushed.

" Hey Mr. Parker."

Nancy came up behind Jeff and the two of them exchanged knowing glances.

Within mintues Phillip and Diane Evans were at the Crashdown. They quickly ran up the stairs to Liz's room where her and Max were sitting, holding the other's hand. Jeff and Nancy were standing at the end of the bed.

Phillip sighed and turned to Jeff and Nancy. " I am so sorry about this." Max grew serious had held onto Liz's hand. " I'm not."

Phillp turned to his son and sighed. " Max you are coming home now!"

Jeff crossed his arms and nodded with the other parents. " Lizzie what has been going on?" He had always been a softy when it came to Liz.

Nancy stepped in front of Jeff. " It is too late for an explanation." She then turned to Liz and Max. " I don't even want to know what you two have been doing on these late nights or why the hell you two are even together. I do know that we need to take a stand on this. Liz you are to not be seen or with Max for awhile." Liz stood up and yelled.

" What? No mom that's not fair." Max stood up with her and continued.

" And you can't keep me away from Liz."

Diane quickly spoke, " It won't be for long. You two just need to calm down for awhile."

Phillip crossed his arms, " Max let's go. Now!" Max clenched his jaw.

" I'm not going back."

" Max while you are under my roof you will obey my rules."

" I thought we made that clear. I'm not living there anymore not while you are demanding that I stay away from Liz."

" Oh and where are you going to stay?"

" Michael's. I've already talked it over with him and he understands."

" Fine!"

" Fine!"

Nancy turned to her daughter, " He might have come to a conclusion about how to keep away from his parents rules, but don't you even think twice. With every fiber in my being I will make sure that you don't see him."

" Mom why are you doing this? Why are you trying to control me?"

" What? No when have I ever tried to control you?"

" Right mom because I've done everything you say....and...eh....you think I'm always going to be that way! You don't even see me!"

" Fine than let me see you."

Nancy began walking over to Liz, but Liz pushed her away.

" Liz oh my God your burning up."

" No mom I'm fine."

" Liz...."

" Mom just stop! It's my life and body I don't have to tell you everything about it." Liz broke away from Max and quickly opened and climbed out her window.

Max shook his head and sighed. He then grabbed his jacket and ran after Liz.

Liz ran out onto her rooftop and down the ladder with Max in hot pursuit. As soon as her feet hit the asphalt she ran as fast as her legs would let her.

Max jumped off the ladder and continued to run after Liz. Within minutes his arms were wrapped around her waist. Liz didn’t struggle as Max turned her around to face him. Max kissed her forehead and pulled her to him. “ Liz, I don’t understand our parent’s reasoning for wanting to keep us apart and I don’t know what these flashes of Tess mean or if she is someone from my past and to be honest with you I don’t care.” Max cupped Liz’s face with his hands and stared into her eyes. “ Do you hear me? I don’t care because I know what is true and that is that you are my destiny. I knew it from the moment when I stepped off the bus in the third grade and I saw you playing with your friends. When I saved you the feelings were only assured. Don’t you get it? We were meant to be together. It wasn’t a coincedence that I was there in the Crashdown that day you were shot. It wasn’t a matter of luck that you didn’t turn me in. Liz it was meant to be. Please believe me. Please don’t let everyone elses hate destroy us. I lo ve you with all my heart and soul. I love you.

Liz felt at that moment that everything in life was centered around them. Max was right. Why was she letting some petty flashes and ignorant people ruin her day, her life. Liz sniffled as a smile spread across her face. “ Thank you for just being you, for loving me.”

Max smiled, “ Thank you Liz for letting me love you.” Liz smiled and leaned as her and Max’s lips touched. They both knew it was meant to be and at the exact moment that their lips touched, lost feelings and their insecurities were no more for they knew that whatever battles or obstacles they faced....they would always have one another.

Michael’s Apartment-

Michael woke up with a pounding headache. He hadn’t gotten much sleep due to the finding of the orb and Max’s arrival and then awkward departure. He rubbed the back of his neck as he crawled out of bed and walked towards the kitchen. Michael opened the refridgerator door and grabbed a carton of Milk. As he was drinking from the carton the phone rang. Michael set the carton down,closed the fridge, and wiped his mouth as he answered the phone. “ Hey?”

“ Michael it’s me.”

“ Maria hey. Is something wrong?”

“ Um no. What are you doing?”

“ Drinking milk.”

“ Damn it Michael. I told you to quit drinking from the carton.”

“ What? How did you know?”

Just then the already cracked front door opened, to reveal Maria standing in a cute outfit, talking to him on her cell phone. Michael laughed and hung up the phone. “ That’s funny Maria.”

“ I thought so. So go get dressed, and where something decent.”

“ What? Why?”

“ Were going shopping.”

“ No I’m not.”

“ Michael do you want to make me angry?” Michael thought the question over for less than a second and then smiled. “ I’ll go get ready.” Maria nodded as Michael darted into the bedroom.

Alex was strumming his guitar cords when there was a knock on his window. He set his guitar down and then stood up. As he walked towards his bedroom window a smile spread across his face. He opened the window and greeted the tall blonde beauty, " Isabel."

" Hi Alex. Can I come in?" Alex shook his head to keep him from daydreaming. " Yeah please."

" Are you okay?" Alex laughed nervously.

" Yeah I guess I"m hanging by a moment here with you." Isabel blushed and then smiled. " Thank you Alex."

Alex nodded and shut his window and then turned to Isabel.

" So what brings you by?" Isabel sighed and then sat down on his bed.

" I needed to talk to you."

" Okay sure. What about?"

" Alex I have been thinking a lot lately about us."

" Us?"

" Listen Alex I treated you horribly before. You continued to reach out to me and I pushed you away because of my own false insecurities."

Alex rubbed the back of his neck and sat down on the bed next to Isabel. " What are you saying Is?"

" I'm saying that I need to let my heart make the decision for once. Alex if you'll give me another chance. I want to be with you as your girlfriend."

" Isabel...."

" No Alex please let me finish. There is something else that I need to tell you. Something that I have been holding back. I love you Alex."

Alex smiled and then leaned in and whispered, " I think we both know that I love you too." He then leaned in a little more and kissed her.

THE NEXT DAY~

Liz hurried down the school hallways in search of Max. She hadn't seen him since yesterday due to her parents constant control. She hated not being able to be near him. Within seconds her eyes met his from across the hallway. It didn't matter how far they were apart or where they were. She could always recognize his dreamy brown eyes.

Max smiled and pushed through the crowds of people to pull Liz into his arms and kiss her. " Hey Liz."

" Yeah?"

" Do you work tonight?"

" Yeah why?"

" Well um I am working tonight too and I just might need to call in a delivery."

" Oh and as my duty as a waitress and to my customers I think it would be my job to serve you."

" Wonderful." Liz giggled and then wrapped her arms around his neck and pressed her lips against his. Max smiled.

" So tonight then."

" You can count on it."

LATER THAT DAY AT THE CRASHDOWN~

Liz and Maria were clearing tables when Alex walked in with a grin on his face. Liz and Maria exchanged looks of curiousity before they both set the dishes down and ran over to him. Maria placed her hands on Alex's shoulders and asked, " Oh my God Alex what happened?" Alex smiled.

" Happened? Nothing happened." Liz placed her hands on her hips.

" Uh uh no way Whitman. What happened? I assume it had to deal with Isabel?"

" You assume right, Miss Molecular Biology." Liz giggled.

" Well give us the scoop." Alex nodded and put his hands in the air.

" All right you've beaten it out of me. Isabel came over to my house yesterday and let's just say Whitman and Evans are now an official couple." Maria and Liz began jumping up and down and screaming with excitement. Maria turned to Alex and said, " Oh Alex I am so incredibly happy for you!"

" Why thank you ladies. Now I think I am a little hungry." Alex teasingly said. He then nodded towards the kitchen. Maria and Liz made faces at Alex and then walked over to the kitchen.

Maria stuck her head through the window and looked for Michael. " Michael? Um hello?" She sighed and then turned to Liz. " I'm going to see what's up with him?" Liz nodded.

" Okay."

While Maria went into the back, Liz strolled over to where Alex was sitting and then slid into the booth. " Alex I am so happy for you."

" Thanks Liz. Me too. So what about you and Max?" Liz giggled.

" What about us?"

" Oh I don't know. Any new developments in the relationship?"

" Alex I am going to pretend you didn't ask me that."

" Ask you what?"

" About me and Max sleeping together." Liz quickly covered her mouth and blushed. She just realized that she had said to much. Alex's eyes grew wide and his mouth hung open.

" Miss Parker what is this I hear?" Liz shook her head.

" No Alex you can't say anything."

" Does Maria or anyone else know?" Liz bit her lip and shook her head no. " God this is so embarassing."

" Don't worry Liz. You and Max's secret is safe with me."

" I know. Thank you Alex."

" No problem. Liz you are my best friend, but I have to be honest with you."

" Honest about what?"

" Your waiting and service skills as a waitress are severly lacking." Liz made a face and they both broke into laughter.

Maria sighed when she didn't see Michael in the kitchen. She then checked the employee room to see him sitting on the couch, staring at the orb. Maria walked over and sat down next to him.

" Are you all right?"

" No not really."

" What's going on? Does it have to do with that orby thing?"

" Yeah. I mean what is it? What does it mean?"

" I don't know Michael, but I'm sure you, Isabel, and Max will find out."

" I need to know about our planet..where we come from."

" It means a lot to you doesn't it?"

" What?"

" Finding out where you come from."

" Yeah it does, but you do to Maria. You mean a lot to me."

" I know Michael." Maria laid her head on Michael's shoulder and he brought his hand around her neck. " How about we go cook some food."

" You cook and I'll serve."

" Sounds like a plan."

Liz glanced out the window. " Wow I can't believe it's already getting dark." Alex turned around and looked outside.

" Yeah me either."

" Hey Liz?"

" Yeah?"

" What do you think of that new girl, Tess?"

" Oh I don't know. I mean I don't even really know her."

" It seemed like Max did."

" Oh um yeah. He just thought she looked familiar."

" Liz?"

The bell on the Crashdown entrance rang and Tess came walking in with a smile to die for on her face. " Hey guys. Liz and Alex right?"

Alex glanced over at her and half smiled, " Yeah. Heh welcome to Roswell."

" Thanks. I didn't get to go to school today due to my dad's paranoia."

" Paraonoia about what?"

" Aliens."

Alex and Liz exchanged worried looks, but their train of thought was disrupted when Tess began laughing. She then said, " It's just a joke. My dad just wants me to fit in."

Liz and Alex began nervously laughing. Liz then stood up and glanced down at her watch. " Um I'll be back in a couple of mintues. I have to make a delivery to the UFO Center. Please if my parents ask where I am tell them that I went to deliver an order, but don't tell them it was at the UFO Center. Then they would know I was going to see Max." Alex nodded.

Tess sat down across from Alex and then asked Liz, " What's at the UFO Center?" Liz nodded.

" Oh um my boyfriend, Max."

" Wasn't he the one that yelled at me a couple day of ago."

" No Tess I wouldn't consider it yelling. I mean he was just having a bad day. That's all."

" Oh okay. I was worried."

" Yeah well I'd better go get his order."

Liz briskly walked into the employee room just as Maria and Michael were coming through. Maria eyed Liz. " Where are you going?"

" I'm just going to go see Max."

" Oh really. Max. Oh I see. Well have fun." Liz blushed.

" Um yeah I will."

Liz blushed and then went into the kitchen and grab a cooked hamburger and she then placed it in a bag. She then ran out of the Crashdown and across the street to the UFO Center to see Max.

Max was shelving books for Milton when he heard someone's steps coming down the stairs. He nonchalantly glanced over to see an angel. Not it was his angel, Liz Parker. A smile spread across his face as it always did. He then set the books down on the cart and slowly approached her. " Hey." Liz set his dinner down and smiled.

" Hey yourself." Max laughed and then cupped her face in his hands and kissed her. They more than likely would have kept at it, but they were both startled by the presense of someone else. Max and Liz parted to see Miltion, smiing. " Evans is this your girlfriend?" Max blushed.

" Yeah. Uh Milton this is Liz Parker. She works at the Crashdown."

Milton walked over to them and kissed Liz's hand. " It is nice to meet you. Quite a beauty you have there, Evans." Max turned back to Liz and said, "I sure do." Liz blushed and mouthed, " Thank you."

Milton smiled and then said, " Well I'll leave you to your business."

Max nodded and waited for Milton to leave before his lips are on Liz's again. As they were kissing, he removed her jacket and pushed her up against the wall. Liz broke away from Max and giggled. " Max I really can't stay long. My parents will suspect something."

" Damn I almost forgot about them."

" Yeah me too." Max kissed her once more. " I really have to go."

" I know. Will I see you tonight?"

" I hope so."

" Tonight then."

" Definately." Liz pointed to his lunch and then walked up the stairs, turning around once and giving Max a loving look.

As she stepped outside the light rain hit her hair and face. Liz squinted at this and then glanced both ways before crossing the street. It was amazing to her how one minute it could be shining light and then the next dark and cold. She wrapped her arms around her body to keep warm as her soft steps hit the asphalt.

Max grabbed his dinner and then set it down on the cart. It then appealed to him that Liz left her jacket there. He smiled, knowing that this was another oppurtunity to see her. Max grabbed the jacket and then yelled to Milton, " I'll be right back." He then ran up the stairs.

As Liz made her way to the Crashdown a smile lit across her face remembering how Max's lips felt against hers as the now harder rain fell onto her hair and slid down her body. She was 5 feet away from the Crashdown doors where she could see Alex and Isabel laughing, but her attention was distracted when she heard someone else's footsteps. Before she could turn around an undescribable pain was forced into her right side. The sharp object stabbed into her tender skin. Liz whimpered with pain as she fell to the ground her face hitting the pavement.

Max was walking out the front doors when he saw Liz fall to the ground and someone running away. He began screaming her name as he ran as fast as he could across the street. Max knelt down beside Liz. His knees skidding across the sidewalk. He turned her so that she was looking at him.

Alex and Isabel heard a scream. They glanced to their right to see Max kneeling before Liz. They both ran outside. Alex began yelling, " Oh God! Who did this?" Max was already a wreck and Alex wasn't helping.

" I don't know. They ran that way." Max nodded behind him and Alex began running after them.

Isabel was about to yell at Alex, but Max told her to call an ambulance and get Liz's parents. Isabel didn't argue as she ran back inside.

Max's words began slurring due to the sobs that interferred.

" Li...z please don't die. I love you."

" Max it hurts."

Max ripped her uniform open and placed his hand on her wound, but to his surprise there was no healing taking place.

Max began panicking. Why in the hell couldn't he heal her? What was happening? Max whimpered as he placed his hand over her tummy and attempted to make another connection. He began crying when he realized that nothing was happening. He glanced over at Liz and cried, " Liz I can't heal you. Please I need you to be strong until the ambulance arrives. Please Liz I can't lose you."

Liz only smiled as she lay there weakening, " Max remember when we were in the eraser room and you told me that you had a third eye? I'll never forget that. It was so funny." Liz slightly laughed and then continued, " Or how about when you and Kyle to drunk? I'll never forget that. I had to admit you looked cute."

Max shook his head. " Liz stop. Please we will be able to make new memories." Liz brought her hand to his face and smiled.

" God I love you Max Evans. I've never loved anyone like I love you."

" I love you Liz Parker." Liz choked a little and Max quickly tilted her head.

Just then her parents came bolting out of the doors with Isabel. Nancy covered her mouth and began screaming, " Liz! Oh my baby girl! " Jeff knelt down beside Max and looked down at Liz. " Don't worry Lizzie. The ambulance is on it's way and you're going to be just fine."

Liz glanced at her dad and then to Max. " I'm glad that my last image of this world is of the two men that mean the most to me...." Liz whimpered as her eyes shut.

Max began yelling, " No please! God don't take her from me. Please take me instead. No! No!" Max cradled her in his arms as the ambulance arrived.

Alex ran as fast as he could down the cold dark streets of Roswell, New Mexico. He felt an ache in his side and his breath was shortening, but none of that mattered. He was in hot pursuit of Liz's attacker and he would be damn if he let his physical condition or lack there of get in the way. Alex may not have been built muscular like Max, but he sure had spunk and nobody messed with his friends. The small figure running away from him was slowing down. Alex groaned as he darted towards the attacker with all of his strength. As some people might call luck he caught up with the person and immediately threw himself on them, knocking her or him down. Alex turned the person over and began to glance down at his or her face, but he hadn't realized that the attacker was still carrying their weapon. Before Alex could react he felt a sharp stab in his shoulder. Alex cried out, but no pain was going to get in his way. No matter how hard it hurt him. He pushed his or her wrists down and grabbed the knife, throwing off to the side of the street. Alex groaned in pain as he glanced down at the attacker's face. Alex was thrown back by whom the light revealed the attacker to be. It was no other than the new girl Tess. " What the hell?"

Isabel waited with The Parkers as Max climbed up onto the ambulance with Liz. Isabel was worried about Liz, but she was also worried about Alex. He had gone after the attacker and he still wasn't back. Isabel crossed her arms and began to worry. Needing to know if he was all right she backed away from the Parkers and ran off into the direction where Alex had went.

Maria was driving Michael home when she hit the steering wheel. " Damn it." Michael laughed. " What's your problem?"

" I have to go back to the Crashdown."

" Why? Maria we were just there."

" Yes I know that, but I left my paycheck in my locker."

" Women."

" Excuse me?"

" Nothing."

" That's what I thought." She turned into a nearby gas station and then turned back around, driving towards the Crashdown.

Isabel ran down the street for at least 10 minutes when she finally saw Alex. He was holding the attacker on the ground and if she wasn't mistaken he appeared to be hurt. Isabel screamed his name and then ran towards them. " Alex oh my God you're hurt!" Alex smiled at Isabel.

" I'll be okay. Listen we have to get Valenti."

Isbabel glanced down at the attacker. It was Tess! The new girl! " What the hell?" Alex laughed.

" You took the words right out of my mouth." He then stood up bringing Tess with him. He held her by the arm and drug her back to the Crashdown.

Max rode with Liz in the ambulance, holding her hand tightly. " Liz please hang on. I can't lose you." Her complexion was still more beautiful than ever. How was it that she could be near death, but still look so beautiful?

Valenti arrived onto the scene just as Alex and Isabel came from out of the shadows, holding Tess. Alex threw Tess at Valenti. " She did it. She stabbed Liz."

Alex stood there as the sentence ran through his head. SHE STABBED LIZ. SHE STABBED LIZ.SHE STABBED LIZ.SHE STABBED LIZ.SHE STABBED LIZ.SHE STABBED LIZ.SHE STABBED LIZ.SHE STABBED LIZ.SHE STABBED LIZ. He shook his head and an undescribable anger rose up in him. Within seconds he had lunged at Tess, shoving her to the ground. Isabel screamed and her and Valenti pulled him back. Who knew that Alex had such strength?

Maria and Michael pulled up into the Crashdown parking lot to see yellow tape saying, POLICE INVESTIGATION STAY BACK. Michael frowned and then unbuckled his seatbelt and bolted out of the Jetta towards Isabel and Alex.

" What the hell?" Alex groaned.

" That bitch stabbed Liz?"

Michael turned to Tess. " I always knew there was something fucked up about you?" Tess shook her head and said,

" No it wasn't me. I didn't know please. It wasn't my doing."

Alex broke away from Isabel and Valenti and spit at Tess, " I knew it was wrong to trust a blonde." He quickly turned back to Isabel and then to Maria, " Except you guys."

Maria gasped, " Oh God is Liz all right? Where is she?"

Valenti removed his hat and eyed everyone. There was definately something suspicious going on with these teenagers. Was Max Evans an alien? If only they would let him in. He was on their side. Valenti cleared his throat and said, " She was taken to the local hospital."

Maria nodded and then turned to Michael, Isabel, and Alex. " Come guys. Liz is more important than this piece of white gerbil trash." Michael glared at Tess.

" Sure looks like a gerbil."

Alex passed by her and then glared, " No she can't be a gerbil. She's too damn ugly."

As soon as Liz arrived at the hospital they wheeled her into the emergency room and began operating. Max walked with her as far as they would let him. He then began pacing back and forth throughout the halls.

TEN MINUTES LATER~

Max was still pacing back and forth when his friends arrived. It was obvious they were worried about Liz, but it seemed if there was something else bothering them. Max wiped his eyes and then ran over to them. " Liz isn't out of surgery yet."

Alex lowered his gaze and held his injured arm as he glanced back up at Max.

" We know who hurt her Max." At that moment Max was more angry than he had ever been. He clenched his jaw and angrily asked, " Who?"

Maria sighed and then answered, " It was Tess."

Max's eyes widened and he began taking deep breaths. He glanced to each of his friends and then angrily whispered, " Tess." Before grabbing the keys from Isabael, brushing pass them and running out of the hospital doors.

Max had been driving for nearly 20 minutes when he pulled up into the school parking lot. He needed to find Tess and his only way of doing that would be to steal her student file and find out where she lived. Max clenched his jaw. He knew that she was trouble from the first minute he laid his eyes on her. If only he would have told everyone his concerns and suspcions about her then Liz may not have gotten hurt. Max groaned and pounded against the steering wheel. He then lowered his head and began crying. He had vowed to protect Liz from any danger or harm. Max didn't care how impossible it sounded. All that mattered was that he keep Liz safe and he failed. He remembered back to when he had healed her. From the on their relationship grew. They had tried to become an official couple, but he had chickened out because of his fear that she would get hurt because of him and she did. Max's bottom lip quivered as the events from earlier that evening replayed in his mind.

* Him and Liz had a more than romantic kiss and conversation and he had planned on seeing her later that evening. When she ran out the UFO Center doors he had noticed that she left her jacket. He ran out after her and saw her across the street about to enter the Crashdown,but within minutes both of their lives changed. He remembered seeing her fall to the ground and then the attacker ran off.

He could have saved her if only he would have ran faster or realized that her jacket had been left behind. " Damn it." Max hit the steering wheel again and wiped his eyes as he departed the Jeep and ran around to the counseling center's window. He made sure no one was in sight before placing his hand on the opposite side of the window lock and using his powers to unlock the window. Max then opened it and quickly climbed in. He didn't know for sure what Tess's last name was, but he knew it started with a H. Max ran towards the file cabinets and looked for the letter H. As soon as he found the right drawer he quickly rummaged through the files. Within minutes he found and pulled out Tess's folder. Max then shut the file cabinet and clilmbed back out of the window. Luckily no one was around when he exited the building. Max gulped and then ran back to the Jeep before starting the engine and speeding off.

Tess sat in the Sheriff's office in a chair as Valenti questioned her.

" Tess where were you earlier this evening?"

Tess gulped and then shut her eyes. Within the Sheriff was in a trance. She smiled and then gave the Sheriff a fake story and made him think that she was never there. Tess sighed and then quickly left the Sheriff's department and ran home. She needed to have a word with Nasedo.

Maria sat with Michael, Isabel, and Alex in the waiting room with Liz's parents. None of them knew what to think of what had happened. All of them, but Alex. He was pissed. No pissed didn't even describe the feelings that were running through him. At that moment he hated Tess with every fiber in his being. If Max hadn't been there he would have been the next best thing to make Tess pay.

Maria laid her head on Michael's shoulder. At first he tensed, but he quickly caught on and put his arm around her. She needed him and he would be there for her. He began thinking about Tess and her evil deed. He knew there was something weird about her, but he didn't know what it was. It should have been a warning sign when Max freaked out on her, but he was too warped into finding out more about the orb. Michael's thoughts were interrupted by the cries of joy from Liz's parents and the doctor's smile.

Maria, Michael, Alex and Isabel stood up and approached Liz's parents and the doctor. They listened in as the doctor said, " The operation was sucessful. We were able to stop the blood loss. So far so good, but we will need to keep her here for another week to make sure."

Isabel nodded and then politely asked, " Can we see her?" The doctor nodded.

" Sure, but one at a time."

Nancy and Jeff visited her first, but as soon as they came back Maria insisted that she was next. No one dared to agrue with her.

Maria walked into Liz's hospital room to see tubes coming out of her. Maria cringed and then approached Liz. She sat down beside her and held her hand. " Liz can you hear me? It's Maria. Girl you scared me to death. I am serious. If I ever lost you....I can't lose you. I mean you and Alex have been my best friends forever. I need the both of you guys. Please Liz stay strong. We all love you."

Maria wiped her eyes and then left the room as Isabel entered and sat down beside her. Isabel smiled. " Liz God I am so sorry. It seems that you are always risking your life and well being for me, Max and Michael. I know you can't hear me but know this. I always did like you and you will always be a dear friend to me. More like a sister. You have to make it and I know you will."

Isabel smiled and then stood up. She then walked out of the room and into the waiting room. Isabel nodded to Alex and he smiled before running into Liz's room. He held his tears back and sat down next to her. " Hey Parker. Listen you mean the world to me. You are one of the most important people in my lives. It seems as though the title best friend doesn't even amount to how much you mean to me. You are always there for me when I am whining about Isabel or some other girl. Not to mention you know how to make me laugh. When I saw you lying there on the sidewalk I felt things that I never wanted to feel. I was so scared that I was going to lose my best friend. I ran after the person who did this to you and it was no other than that fake blonde, Tess. I promise that she won't get away with what she did. That's a promise."

Tess ran to the bustop and hitched a ride home. As soon as she stepped off the bus she ran as fast as she could to her house. Quickly Tess ran into her driveway and to the front door. She used her powers to unlock the door and hurried inside to see Nasedo reading a paper. He set the newspaper down and smiled over at Tess. " Hello honey. How did you do on your first kill?"

" No that wasn't me. You made me do that."

" Oh please. Like you really care. Besides the Parker girl needed to be rid of."

" Why? What makes her so special?"

" Because she is the one." Tess rolled her eyes and was about to respond when the door rang. She ran over to the front door and opened it to see the king! Tess didn't have a chance to respond for Max's fist hit her square in the face, sending her to the ground.

Tess brought her hands to her face and whimpered in pain. She quickly crawled to her feet to find herself standing before a very angry looking, Max. Before she could say anything to him. Max began walking towards her, forcing Tess to take steps back. “ Why Liz?!”

Tess shook her head and cried out, “ I don’t know what you’re talking about!”

“ Don’t play games with me!” Max continued to raise his voice with each step that he took. “ I know you’re the one who attacked Liz! Now answer me! Why Liz?! She never did anything to you! Liz is the most caring, loving person that I know! If you’re going to attack or hurt anyone let it be me!” Max groaned with anger and than pushed her back. “ Who’s going to be next? Michael! Isabel! Maria! Alex! “ Max violently shoved her forcing her to fall back down.

Nasedo watched the King act out in anger. He couldn’t hurt the King so instead he stepped forward and yelled, “ Zan stop!”

Max glanced over to his right to see Nasedo walking towards him. “ What?”

“ She is one of you, a hybrid. Tess is the fourth hybrid.” Max’s eyes widened as he glanced from Nasedo to Tess.

Tess began to sit up and look innocently at Max, “ Look at me Max. Take a look at me. You have seen my face before.” Max thought for a moment as memories ran through him.

* Him, Michael, and Isabel breaking out of the pods.

* Michael and Isabel leaving the pod chamber, but he stayed behind.

* Him seeing and touching the fourth pod.

* Tess’s face appearing as he stared at the pod.

* Isabel begging him to come with her.

* Him leaving Tess behind.

Max took a step back and brought his hands to his head. He then groaned and yelled, “ No! I don’t care who you are! You hurt Liz! I will never be a part of something as evil as you. Michael and Isabel are my family. You’re not!”

Tess stood up and ran over to Max as she grabbed onto his shirt. “ Oh please Max. Don’t push me away. You and I are meant to be together.” Max shook his head no and stepped away from Tess.

“ No! Liz is my destiny, my soulmate. You are a piece of trash that needs to be thrown away.”

Max took a deep breath and then began walking towards the front door, but Nasedo grabbed his arm. “ Zan....Max you can’t walk away from this. You are an alien and you, Michael, Isabel belong together.” Max glared at Nasedo and then said.

“ No I am human. Being alien means nothing to me. I belong with Liz. I love her.”

Max pushed Nasedo away from him and then ran out of the house.

Tess walked up behind Nasedo and begged, “ Nasedo please tell me what is happening. Why wasn’t he glad to see him?” Nasedo sighed and then turned to Tess.

“ He’ll be back.”

“ Nasedo why?” Nasedo shook his head.

“ Because you are a hybrid Tess, but you are not apart of the Royal four. She is the Queen not you.”

“ Who is?”

“ Liz Parker.”

“ What that can’t be! She’s human!”

“ As far as she knows. She is alien, but her powers aren’t as present as the other three. She is one fourth alien.”

“ How do you know it’s Liz?”

“ It was told than Zan or Max would find his bride when sent to Earth. He has found her. The King is never wrong.”

“ But what about me and Max?”

“ There is no you and Max. It’s time they knew the truth.”

Max raced to the hospital. He had learned so much in the last 30 mintues. On anyother day he might have been thrilled to learn about his alien past, but not today. The love of his life was hurt and he needed and wanted to be there for her. Max didn’t care what Tess or Nasedo said. He was destined to be with Liz and that was it.

Maria, Michael, Isabel, and Alex took turns talking to Liz. Even though she wasn’t conscious they all believed that she could hear them.

Isabel put her hand on Michael’s shoulder and asked, “ Where is Max? He should be here.” Michael rubbed his eyes and sighed.

“ I know that. I know Maxwell he’ll be here.”

Just then Max came bolting through the hospital doors with a mix of emotions scattered across his face. Isabel walked over to him and placed her hand on his shoulder, “ Max are you okay?” Max snickered.

“ No not really. I am not okay.” Isabel bit her lip and nodded as Max pulled away from her and walked towards Liz’s hospital room.

Isabel began to walk after Max, but Michael stopped her by grabbing her upper arm. “ Hey just leave him alone.”

“ Michael he can’t be alone right now.”

“ No Isabel I think that’s what he needs the most right now.”

Max approached Liz’s hostipal room door. He stood outside the door, staring at it. He didn’t know why he was so hesitant to enter. Maybe it was because he was scared of what he would see. Max couldn’t behr the sight of the love of his life struggling for his life. He knew that no matter what happened that he wouldn’t let her die. If he had to Max would heal her. Whether he was captured didn’t seem to compare to the torture that he would go through if Liz died. He wouldn’t lose her. Max took a deep breath and placed his hand on the door handle, turning it slowly. The door creaked open and he peeked in to see her lying in the bed, unconscious. She looked so pale and fragile at that moment. Max fully entered the room and shoved his hands in his pockets as he walked over beside her. He cringed at the sight of the tubes and iv’s coming out of her arms and hands. Before Max could sit down beside her he began sobbing. Quickly he covered his face, in hopes of drowning out the sobs. After a few minutes of crying he brought his hands to his face and wiped his tears and sniffled as he sat down beside her. Max reached out for her hand and placed it in his. “ Liz I don’t know if you can hear me, but I will protect you from death. I will do everything in my power to keep you here with me. Know this Liz, I won’t let Tess get away with this. She will pay.”

Liz felt feeling flow into her fingers and arms. She whimpered a little and moved her lips. Max was in a moment of grieving so he didn’t notice these small movements.

Liz moved her fingers in Max’s hand.

Max immediately glanced up at Liz and said, “ Liz?” He frowned when he didn’t get a response. Max looked to the ground and sighed until he felt her fingers move in his hand. He opened his hand to see her’s moving. Max began crying out in joy as he caressed her face and kissed her hand. “ Liz can you hear me? It’s me, Max.”

Max stood up and pushed the nurse’s button. Within minutes the nurses came running in and Max yelled, “ She’s awake! Liz is awake!” TBC
