Francine Alice Frensky
Francine has a very domineering personality. She wants to take charge and control things. She is the most likely of anyone on Arthur to insult someone. She thinks of herself as a great athlete and plays several sports, is very competitive and doesn't mind getting muddy. Of all the sports she likes, she plays soccer most frequently. Their team often going up against Mighty Mountain. She also is interested in hockey. Besides sports, she loves horses, and takes riding lessons at one point. She does not like to wear dresses, and when forced to dress formally, chooses to wear suits instead whenever she can get away with it.
Like most of the main kids, Francine is in Mr. Ratburn's class. Francine lives only a block or two away from school and can walk there in the morning but she usually rides her bike. Her bike is a hand-me-down from her father. Her family isn't too rich so she doesn't have a lot of money to spend. Francine is scared of the roller coaster at Wonder World. Francine has a stuffed lobster named Bob.
Francine formed an immediate bond with Muffy as soon as they met, and they
are best friends aside from occasional quarrels and differing tastes. At one
point Francine hung out with Jenna, who shared similar tastes, but only for
a short while. She is very close to Arthur, but does not like to be thought
of as in love with him. She has one sibling, older sister Katherine. They
argue a lot but love each other. Part of their reason for disagreements is
that Katherine tends more toward frilly and cute, trying to decorate their
shared room in lace and dress up Nemo, while Francine is more wild. Francine
has to share a room with her sister, but actually prefers it over having a
room to herself, which she learned from an experiment where Katherine moved
into the living room. Her father is a garbage man, and her mom also works.
They still find time to have "family meetings". Grandpa Frensky
also lives nearby. He owned a burger palace.
