Bianca took out her journal and began to write. She finally had some quiet time to herself. Looking out the window of her room she saw Willow Lake in the backdrop. The tree's swayed from the approaching storm. The wind blew fresh air to her face. She closed her eyes as she felt its caress.

Her pen moved and she began to jot down her feelings in a poem.

'Everything I told you
did not mean enough.
My words
were not clear.
For if they had been
you wouldn't have heard
"Thank you."
You would have heard
"I love you."
The words,
"Where have you been?"
really meant,
"I was worried."
You wouldn't have heard
"You mean so much,"
Instead the words
"I cannot live without you,"
Would grace your heart.
What I really meant,
when I said,
"You make me laugh,"
was simple enough I thought,
"My life was sad before you came to it."
When I hugged you
what I really meant was
"Please don't ever leave me."
When I said, "I'm happy for you,"
what I really meant was,
"My heart is breaking."
When I said,
"forever,"
I meant it.
Forever.'

"It's easy enough to write isn't it? Now why can't I just come to terms with my feelings for you Maggie? I've got to either let go of you forever or I need to tell you how I really feel. All I can do is sit here and hope that what Tim said to me at the wedding was true. That perhaps you do feel the same way for me. That you see more then friendship in us."

Bianca saw the rain start to come down. She closed the window to her room and sighed. Writing usually made her feel better, but sometimes it could do the opposite. It could get her thinking about things she didn't want to consider.

Moments later there was a knock at the door. There stood Maggie soaked from head to toe. "Got a towel?" She asked giggling.

"Oh my god! Silly! Haven't you heard of an umbrella?" Bianca burst out into laughter as she went to her bathroom and retrieved a towel for Maggie.

"Hello?! Up till fifteen minutes ago the sun was shining, the birds were chirping and Mr. Weather Man was right on the mark. I don't make carrying umbrellas with me on nice days a habit, you know what I mean?"

"Gosh I wish I had my camera right now," Bianca chuckle as Maggie made her way into the room. "Let me get you some dry clothes."

"Sounds wonderful!"

Minutes later they sat on Bianca's bed watching the storm outside.

"Wow it's starting to get pretty bad out there. Looks like you found shelter just in time."

"I sure did. Saved again by Bianca," Maggie said smiling. "What would I do without you Bink?"

"Let's hope you don't find out," Bianca answered giggling.

"Never," Maggie said honestly.

Bianca just shyly smiled and looked back outside. Maggie saw the lightning strike down and shook a bit. She glanced down and saw the journal Bianca had been writing in. Maggie started to read the opens pages and picked up. "What's this Bink? Working on your next Pulitzer?"

"Don't touch that! It's private," Bianca said a bit more flustered then she had intended.

Caught off guard Maggie stopped. "I'm sorry Bink, I didn't know. I didn't mean to upset you…it was just open…so I didn't think it was private."

"No…it's my fault," Bianca said taking the journal from Maggie's hands. "I shouldn't have left it opened."

"Who?"

"Who who?"

Maggie laughed. "You sound like a Doctor Seuss book, Binks," more seriously, "Who do you love?"

"What?"

"It said you loved someone. Who? Is there someone you're keeping secret from me?"

"No. It's nothing. Just a poem. I just like to doodle you know?"

"It was beautiful Bianca. That wasn't doodling."

Bianca was desperate to change the subject. "Wow it looks like it's getting worse out there huh?"

"Bianca why are you changing the subject?"

"I'm not. Let's just drop it okay?" Bianca didn't mean for it to come out so harshly, but it had. She saw the look on Maggie's face.

"Okay. Well…I guess I should be going now."

"You don't have to leave. I didn't mean to speak to you that way. I'm sorry."

Maggie stood. "No really I should be going. Have a good one Binks. Call me later okay?"

And with that, Maggie walked out the door. Bianca stood there for a few moments and followed after her. They were only outside for a matter of seconds before each was covered in water.

"Maggie stop. Come on. I said I was sorry," Bianca called out.

Maggie pretended like she hadn't heart and kept walking.

"You okay!" Bianca shouted.

Maggie stopped walking. She wiped the rain off her face. "What are you talking about? Me what?"

"You. The poem is about you."

"The poem? It's about me?"

"Yes. You. Everything I told you did not mean enough. My words were not clear. For if they had been you wouldn't have heard 'Thank you.' You would have heard "I love you." The words, 'Where have you been?' really meant, "I was worried." You wouldn't have heard 'You mean so much,' Instead the words 'I cannot live without you,' would grace your heart. What I really meant, when I said, 'You make me laugh,' was simple enough I thought, "My life was sad before you came to it." When I hugged you what I really meant was 'Please don't ever leave me.' When I said, 'I'm happy for you,' what I really meant was, "My heart is breaking and I love you." When I said, "forever," I meant it. Forever.'" Bianca recited from her poem.

"You wrote that for me?"

Bianca only nodded. The thunder boomed around them. Maggie looked up to the darkening skies and decided that given their relationship there was no better time. She leaned forward and kissed Bianca on the lips. Bianca was stunned. She stood still, feeling Maggie's soft lips move across her own. Raindrops pouring down their faces, and the wind whipping around them a simple yet meaningful declaration had been made.

"I love you too, Bianca."

"You love me?" Bianca asked. 'I must be hearing things?'

"Bianca I don't know if I could actually tell you the time or place when it happened. All I know is it did. You've moved into my thoughts. I wake up in the morning hoping to see you and I go to bed at night hoping to dream about you."

If not for the rain pouring down, Maggie could have seen the tears.

It was as if someone had granted Bianca her hearts deepest wish and made it true. She moved forward and kissed Maggie again, this time more passionately then before. "Let's get back inside huh?" Maggie said taking Bianca's hand.

"Yeah- lets," Bianca smiled.

Hand in hand they walked back to her room. "What now?" Bianca asked unsure what their future held. There were going to be some big changes.

"I don't know. But I can't wait to find out," Maggie answered leaning in for another kiss. FIN
