Part 1

The car pulled up to the house. Laura exited and went inside her home. It had been so long since she'd there. It felt almost dreamlike.

Opening the door she called out, "Hello? Anyone home?" There was no answer. "Odd," she mumbled. She had hoped for some big homecoming. The whole point of her arrival was to work on a few different levels. She didn't want to come back for her mothers wedding to Edmund. The grief she had caused them would be too much for her. But she had hoped to make it up to them both now. 'And they aren't the only ones I need to make things up to.'

"Laura?" called her brother (though not by blood) from behind her.

"Jamie!" Laura rushed up to him and hugged him.

"What are you doing here?" Jamie asked. He was a bit shocked to see his sister standing in the living room.

"Well for lack of better words Jamie...I'm better now," Laura said smiling. She had come full circle. She had healed both inside and out. The traumatic experiences of her past were behind her and she had accepted the life she was going to lead and the people she would life it with.

"So you're home now?" Jamie asked hesitantly.

"Yeah- if you and mom and Edmund will have me?"

"Mom will be so happy when she comes home," Jamie said smiling.

"Wait, she's not here?"

"No. She's gone. She left…after the whole wedding thing and Maria. She needed to get away." Jamie was soft spoken at this part. He lowered his head. He was torn up for his mother, yet at the same time embarrassed by her actions.

"What wedding thing? Did mom and Edmund not marry? Maria? Maria who?" Laura found a million questions forming in her mind.

"I think you better sit," Jamie said motioning for the couch, "we've got a lot to talk about."

Bianca sat in the office at Enchantment. The papers that sat in front of her were now completed and she felt a great sense of accomplishment.

"Done and done," she smiled filing them away.

"Hey you," Maggie said entering the office.

"Hey you back," Bianca smiled. Maggie could always bring a smile to her face. God, how Bianca had appreciated that.

"What's the DL?" Maggie asked all business and serious like.

Bianca burst out laughing, "The DL? God Maggie you crack me up."

"What? I figured I was in an office, better to be safe then sorry with the whole lingo thing you know?" Maggie sat down in the chair.

"So what's up? Just coming to see me for the heck of it or can I do something for you?" Bianca asked.

"Would you believe I just missed you?"

"No," Bianca smiled.

"Well you're wrong. I did miss you. I need my Bianca fix daily you know?" Maggie smiled. Bianca blushed slightly and head hung, embarrassed. "Gosh you're so cute when you do that. I love making you blush. Have I told you this?" Maggie asked.

"Cut it out," Bianca smiled waving her hand.

"Okay well the other reason I'm here is I was wondering what you were doing for dinner tonight. I have this extra ticket to this charity thing at the hospital. And I was wondering if you wanted to be my date?" Maggie asked looking everywhere but at Bianca.

"Me? Your date? Isn't there someone more qualified or something?" Bianca asked playfully.

"Nope. Sorry. Escorts-R-Us were booked for the evening and the 19.95 Date Service is over priced in my opinion. So I was hoping my girl would back me up and save me from a night full of dull doctors and smart-ass nurses who think candy girls don't know anything."

"Well when you put it like that…sure. I'd…I'd love to be your date." Bianca couldn't believe those words were just spoken and out of her mouth…and completely utterly true non the less. She had a date with Maggie. Sure it wasn't a date date…but still it was something.

Bianca felt a smile spread from ear to ear.

"Bianca, you're the best have I told you this?"

Ring.

Ring.

"Hold on one second Maggie," Bianca said answering her cell.

"Hello…oh…wow….hi. Yeah it's been awhile…yeah…I…yeah okay," Bianca looked at Maggie. Maggie wasn't sure what Bianca was thinking or feeling. She knew her friend well but at this precise moment reading her was proving to be difficult. "Okay. Yeah. I'd like that too…okay. 10 it is. Bye."

"What was that about?" Maggie asked playfully. "very cloak and dagger."

"That was someone."

"Yeah I got that part."

"It was Laura. My friend Laura. Or I guess I should say ex-friend." Bianca said softly looking down at her desk. She had told Maggie most of the things about Laura. She had just left out some of the more 'personal' aspects of their history.

"Laura…crazy girl Laura?" Maggie asked feeling a twinge of jealousy course through her. 'Why would Laura be calling Bianca now?'

"Yeah. I guess she is home. She wants to meet tomorrow for coffee."

"And you're going?"

"I should. I mean…I guess I feel like I owe…" Bianca started to say.

"Bianca you don't owe her anything. After what she did to you?" Maggie said defensively.

Bianca smiled. She knew Maggie was being protective of her and she thought it was adorable.

"Thanks Maggie," she said standing and walking to give the girl a hug.

"For what?" Maggie asked confused at this sudden display of affection.

"For being you."

"Hey, no problem."

"So what time tonight?" Bianca asked.

"7 p.m. I'll pick you up?" Maggie answered.

"It's a date," Bianca replied.

"Just don't order anything expensive huh? Otherwise I'll get the wrong idea," Maggie said as they both walked out of the office laughing.

Part 2

Laura felt so good after the shower was done. She walked into her room. It was just as she had left it. Her mom wouldn't have had it any other way. "Come home soon Mom," Laura said sadly. For now though, it would give her a good chance to spend some time with Jamie. God, he had grown so much in the last months. "Maybe it's the water?" she wonder out loud. Her robe slightly hung off her shoulders. It was so soft and warm.

She laid down on her bed and stretched out. "God it feels good being home."

Tomorrow would be a big day. She had a lot to talk to Bianca about. Things had been left so badly. She had said such awful things, done such awful things. She had no right to act the way she did. But then again, she wasn't exactly herself either.

"I promise Bianca, I'll make it up to you."

Maggie and Bianca walked outside onto the balcony area. The music from down below them still played. "Ahhh! Fresh air!" Maggie said dramatically.

Bianca couldn't help but smile. She was having a wonderful evening. Maggie looked amazing. Well, she always looked amazing really, but tonight was different. There was something between them. Bianca wouldn't have been able to say what it was, she just felt it.

Maggie noticed the warm gaze on Bianca's face as she looked out into the darkness of the city. "What are you thinking?" Maggie asked sliding closer to Bianca till their arms slightly touched.

"This and that," Bianca said softly. She felt the tingle in her arm where the connection was made. It was wonderful. Bianca knew what it was. Love. Her feelings for Maggie Stone had passed the point of simple friendship and even crush. Now she was into a new territory for her. Love.

"Thanks for coming tonight Bink. I've had a great time. You're an excellent date too," Maggie said surprised.

"I was glad to come. And why do you sound shocked that I am an excellent date?" Bianca asked playfully.

"Most of the guys I date are usually…well you know the pressure thing and the worry that something else is going to be expected at the end of the night. So you're watching what you're doing and what you're saying the whole time, when all you're really thinking is how did I get into this," Maggie explained.

For a quick second Bianca felt a small ache inside her heart. The words 'expected' and 'pressure' came out of Maggie's mouth. Bianca knew what she was saying was meant in the most innocent way, but still it was another brief painful reminded that Maggie wouldn't ever see her as anything more then Bianca, best friend. And that this was just 'Play Date.'

"Dance with me," Maggie said pulling her away.

"What?" Bianca asked, looking around.

"I said," Maggie took Bianca's hands in her own as the music played down below, "Dance with me."

"Someone will see us," Bianca said nervously.

"So what?"

"I…I'm not a very good dancer." Now that just sounded lame, Bianca thought to herself.

"Good. I'm not either," Maggie smiled and started to move them to the center of the area. The music wasn't fast nor slow. It was a nice easy movement piece. It started off as playful for both girls. As the music went on, Bianca relaxed slightly and took on a more playfulness tone, just as Maggie had.

Then it happened. A slow song.

'Oh-oh' Bianca thought. She went to pull away.

"Where do you think you're going?" Maggie asked pulling her closer. "You're my date and I get one slow dance."

Bianca didn't respond. She just moved in closer to Maggie. "I don't know where to put my hands?" she asked.

"Here," Maggie answered placing them around her shoulders. Maggie laid her head on Bianca's shoulders and placed her arms around Bianca's waste. "Is this okay?"

Bianca for her own part couldn't speak. She did everything she could to keep the bump in her throat down. 'Oh my god, sensory overload' she thought.

So there they danced, slowly to the music from down below.

'Jewel? Angel standing by?' thought Maggie. She recognized the song and thought it appropriate. Bianca was like her angel on so many levels. How she had come to appreciate and need her. Maggie was still amazed at how Bianca could make her feel. 'I mean here I am, dancing with no doubt the most beautiful person here, and she's here with me.' Maggie remembered how she felt when she picked Bianca up earlier that night. She looked breathtaking. Maggie actually gulped. She felt a smile creep to her face. 'I can't believe I gulped,' she thought.

Sway. Sway. Left then right.

The song ended, as did their dance. "Well Ms. Montgomery I do believe you lied to your friend. Cause I happen to think you're an excellent dancer."

Bianca smiled and blushed slightly. "Thanks."

"You did it again," Maggie moved closer to her. "You blushed. I love to make you blush. Have I told you this?" She kissed her cheek. "Yes indeed. I love to see you blush."

Bianca smiled. 'If only she knew.'

Part 3

Bianca lay in bed that night. What an amazing evening she had. She enjoyed it immensely. 'She gave me a kiss,' Bianca thought smiling. Sure, it was on the cheek. But it's progress. Who knows, maybe Maggie would in time feel more for Bianca then just friendship. Bianca giggled, hugged her side pillow even more. She had a big day tomorrow too. She was going to see Laura.

Maggie watched the TV in front of her. Though she wasn't really paying attention. She had a great night with Bianca. They laughed, the danced, and even shared a slight kiss. "I can't believe I did that," Maggie said smiling. Anna's words from way back came into her mind. "'The heart wants what it wants Maggie.' Now, I just need to figure out what I want. I mean I care about Bianca a lot. I even love her. I just need some time Bianca. It's not you. It's me."

Laura couldn't sleep. She lay in bed staring at the ceiling. "God I can't wait to see you tomorrow Bianca. I want you to see how much I've changed. I want you to see all the things I've learned. I can't wait to tell you everything," she said softly. She rolled over. "I don't know if I can wait that long." She picked up the phone and dialed. "Hi. I'm sorry it's so late. No…I'm fine. I was wondering if we could meet. I really need to talk with you…I don't think I can wait till tomorrow," Laura said hoping she'd understand. "The boathouse? Okay great. Thanks Bianca."

Click.

Laura jumped out of bed and changed into a comfortable pair of jeans and a soft blue blouse.

Bianca got out of bed and threw on a pair of jeans as well. She kept the t-shirt she had been wearing on. It was Maggie's. She had given it to her. Bianca loved sleeping in it.

Cell phone off, but in hand, she made her way out.

Maggie couldn't stand it anymore. She reached over and picked up the phone. "I just need to tell you one more time how much I enjoyed your company tonight Bianca," Maggie said dialing. It rang but there was no answer. "Her cell must be off. Okay room," Maggie dialed Bianca's room number. No answer. "Where could you be Bianca?"

Bianca saw Laura before Laura saw her. Bianca thought she looked wonderful. "Welcome home stranger," Bianca said moving up the steps.

"Bianca," Laura smiled. She stood and embraced her friend. 'Easy Laura. Don't scare her off.' "God I've missed you so much."

"You look great Laura. Really."

"Thanks. I feel great."

Bianca sat next to her. "Here, I got this for you," Laura said handing her the small coffee. "Don't worry it's decaf," Laura said smiling.

"It smells great," Bianca answer, "thanks."

"Okay so I'm sorry I had you come here so late. I honestly couldn't wait to see you. I…I have so much to say," Laura took a deep breath. "I hurt you. I hurt you so badly Bianca. And I am so sorry. I can't even begin to express to you in words how much you meant to me before everything went crazy…but I went crazy." Laura paused. She felt her emotions bubble to the surface. She had rehearsed this speech so many times.

"It's okay," Bianca said noticing her friends voice full of sadness.

"No it's not okay," Laura said softly. "I hurt the person I cared for most in this world. I'm so sorry. Do you think you could ever forgive me?"

"Laura, you went through a lot. It's okay. I understand," Bianca said. She knew Laura well enough to understand this was heartfelt and genuine.

"Bianca…I…Hum. This seemed to be much easier when I practiced with my pillow," Laura said smiling. Bianca giggled and Laura realized how much she missed hearing her laugh. "God I missed that."

"What?"

"Your laugh. Your laugh was always contagious. It didn't matter how I felt inside…if I heard your laugh I'd laugh too. That's truly a gift you know that don't you Bianca."

Bianca smiled. "Thanks Laura," she answered lowering her head.

"Are you seeing anyone?"

"Me? No." Bianca answered sadly.

"What about that girl? Frankie?" Laura asked. "Too much opposites?"

Bianca felt a slight ache. She hadn't talked about Frankie in so long. "No. She was killed." Bianca said lowering her head.

"Oh my God, Bianca, I'm so sorry. I didn't know. Are you okay?"

"Yeah. I…she was murdered. It's a long story I don't think I have the strength for right now," Bianca said. She felt tears begin to creep up.

"I…I'm sorry," was all Laura said. She reached her arm up and around and pulled Bianca into a hug. Bianca put her head on Laura shoulder and wept. "It's okay Bianca," Laura said holding on. "I won't let go till you want me too." Laura kissed the top of Bianca's head. Bianca in that moment realized how much she had missed her old friend. She pulled her head up.

"I did miss you Laura. So much. I missed having a best friend for so long," Bianca said softly. In truth when Frankie died, the only person she truly had was Leo. "I wasn't here for you was I?" Laura said answering her own question. "That won't happen again. Ever," she said. It seemed innocent enough so Laura leaned down and softly kissed Bianca's lips. Bianca, feeling comfortable around Laura didn't move away. She let Laura kiss her. And the kiss though soft and friendly, made each of them feel something inside. Laura pulled away quickly. "I…I'm sorry. I hope I didn't cross a lone there?"

"No…it's okay. It was nice. Thank you," Bianca said softly.

"It was nice. You're a excellent kisser Bianca," Laura smiled. As did Bianca.

Bianca wasn't sure why she felt guilty inside for kissing Laura. It wasn't like she was with anyone, right? 'I mean Maggie kissed Tim, so why should I feel guilty?' Another thing that bothered her was that she had enjoyed it. She had wondered what it would be like to kiss Laura for so long, and now she knew. It was quite wonderful.

Laura knew she wanted to kiss Bianca as well. She also knew that she too felt wonderful. If Bianca wasn't seeing anyone, maybe perhaps, she could have the chance she wished she'd taken so long ago. "I was blind," Laura said softly.

"What do you mean?" Bianca asked looking Laura in the eyes.

"I was blind to you and my own feelings. I'm sorry."

"Laura, stop apologizing. It's okay. Let's get out of here huh?" Bianca said standing. She needed to get out of there and get some time to think. She wasn't entirely sure what had just happened.

Part 4

Maggie hadn't seen Bianca since last night, after their date ended. She stood in the hospital hallway and saw the balcony area that she and Bianca had danced on the night before. She felt a warmth spread through her. "That was so nice," she smiled inwardly.

"Maggie?" she heard a voice call out from behind.

"Anna! Hi," Maggie said giving her cousin a hug.

"How are you?"

"Good how about you? How's the," Maggie lowered her voice, "the baby?"

"Good. All is well. And it's okay. Not really a big surprise anymore."

"Oh. Does David know?" Maggie asked.

"Yes."

"So does this mean…that you guys will be getting back together now?" Maggie asked hopefully.

"No. I'm sorry Maggie. But just because our marriage failed, doesn't mean I care any less for you. I've come to think of you as a daughter," Anna said softly. Boy she had become sentimental lately. 'Damn pregnancy,' she thought.

"Anna, thank you. That's…that was nice of you to say," Maggie answered.

"So how are you doing?" Anna asked concerned.

"I'm fine, thanks."

"Are you sure? You can talk to me about it if you want," Anna said moving closer. "I'll always support you Maggie."

"What's this about Anna?" Maggie asked.

Anna picked up the paper and handed it to her. "You haven't seen this yet have you?"

Maggie looked at the front page open-mouthed. "Where? How…how could someone do this?" Maggie said feeling her temper rise. "They have no right!"

"Calm down Maggie. It's okay."

"No it's not okay Anna. People are going to see this and get hurt. I'll get hurt. Bianca will get hurt. Why can't people just leave her alone?" Maggie felt a harsh sadness fall upon her. She gave the paper back to Anna. "I have to go find Bianca."

"Okay. Do what you have to. I'm sorry Maggie, I didn't mean to upset you. I assumed you knew," Anna apologized.

"No, it's cool Anna. Thanks for telling me." Maggie took off from the hospital. She needed to find Bianca.

Bianca sat in her office looking out the window.

"Bianca we need to talk," Erica said coming in.

"Hey mom. What's going on?" Bianca asked.

"Look, your life is your life. I've accepted that. I might not fully understand it, but don't doubt I love you."

"Okay," Bianca said slowly. Where was this coming from, she wondered. She felt she and her mom were having the "coming out" talking again.

"The things you do in public…you need to watch yourself. You're always apt to be a target. And so do those around you," she said softly moving closer to her daughter. Bianca laughed sadly.

"Yeah tell me about it."

Erica handed the paper to Bianca. Bianca looked confused at first. She picked it up and saw in large bold print "Double Your Pleasure" and underneath was a shot of Maggie and Bianca dancing and another shot of Maggie kissing Bianca's cheek. "What the hell is this?" Bianca felt her heart beat double and she began to panic.

"Why don't you tell me?" Erica said softly. "What happened?"

"Mom we didn't do anything! We just danced. It was in fun. She kissed my cheek. Nothing more. I wouldn't…I mean I didn't…Maggie's not gay…why would someone do that?" Bianca was growing more and more upset by the passing seconds.

"Bianca," Erica said walking around and touching her daughters cheeks. "Calm down okay? It's all right. You and Maggie didn't do anything wrong."

"Mom what is she going to say when she sees this? She's going to freak out," Bianca said beginning to cry.

"Bianca," a voice called out from the door, "we've got to talk." It was Maggie and she looked as upset about this as Bianca did. Erica looked back and forth between the two girls.

"I'll leave you two alone." She walked out the door closing it behind her.

"Can't my daughter ever get a break," she asked looking up to whoever might be listening.

Laura looked at the paper. Part of her felt the pain for Bianca and this woman. Laura did a double take of the picture. She couldn't understand why this girl looked so much like Frankie. But how could that be? Frankie was killed? Laura read the caption under the pictures:

"Bianca Montgomery steels a kiss from her new love interest Maggie Stone, the twin sister of Ms. Montgomery murdered lover." And the other caption read: "Dancing the night away in her lovers arms, Ms. Montgomery amuses those around her."

"Oh Bianca," Laura said. "You poor girl. You can't get a break from it at all can you?" Laura was certain Bianca and the woman she was pictured with, this Maggie Stone, were not involved. Bianca would have had no reason to lie to her the night before. So why would the paper say the things they did? "Simple. Sell more. Screw other people's feelings. It's always about money."

Laura picked up her keys and went out the door. Someone's going to pay for this. Laura may not have been a journalist like her mother, but she had a few strings to pull.

Part 5

"Maggie, I am so so very sorry." Bianca stood and walked toward her friend.

"Bianca, what are you talking about? This isn't your fault," Maggie said hugging her friend. "I just wanted to make sure you were okay?"

"Me? I was worried about you. I've been dealing with this kind of bullshit my whole life," Bianca said tossing the paper onto her desk.

Maggie was slightly startled at Bianca's cursing. She didn't do it often, so Maggie assumed Bianca was pretty upset.

"Bianca," Maggie said softly, "It's okay. We're okay. Nothings changed."

"I…I was so happy. I just feel like we were doing so well you know? This," Bianca said point at the paper, "this is what happens when you get close to me, Maggie. You get hurt."

"I'm not hurt. It'll take a lot more then a few bad angled pictures to hurt us, Bink. I mean come on, could the guy have gotten a worse angle on my ass," Maggie said pointing at the picture. "At least you looked gorgeous. I think he was waiting for me to make that face," Maggie said playfully.

Bianca smiled at Maggie's playful tone. "You're really okay with this?"

"Yes. I am really okay with this. If you are?"

"Yeah. You do realize that people are going to start talking now don't you?" Bianca said looking down at the desk.

"What? Like they weren't talking about us already?" Maggie laughed.

"Yeah good point. The downside to hanging out with a gay girl huh Maggie? Everyone around you thinks you are too. I think that's what has me most upset here," Bianca said still angry.

"True. But at least I got myself a hot girl right?"

"You can always do that," Bianca smiled, "you always make me smile. Thanks."

"I live to serve," Maggie returned her smile.

The phone rang and broke Maggie and Bianca's locked eyes. "Hello? Yes this is she…yes…oh…well I appreciate that…I guess I can agree to that…no…thank you." Bianca hung up the phone. "Wow."

"What?"

"That was the editor of the paper, calling to apologize."

"What?"

"I guess he said the guy ran with that story without his permission. That those pictures were taken out of…ahhh…some legal term…well basically he said please don't sue us and they'll run a retraction in tomorrows paper with their apologizes to both of us as well as the hospital."

"Wow. Your mom's good."

"I don't think my mom had anything to do with that," Bianca said thinking to herself.

"Well if your mom didn't, who did?"

"I don't know?" Bianca said looking out the window. Though she had an idea.

Laura was satisfied. "Just part one of me making things up to you Bianca. I wasn't here for you when you needed me most. But I'm here for you now."

"Dinner?" Maggie asked Bianca as she cleared off her desk.

"Yeah that sounds good," Bianca answered.

"So you to tell me how your meeting with Laura went this morning?" Maggie asked. She had been waiting for Bianca to bring it up. But so far the girl had kept mum.

"Yeah, sure."

"Well you don't have to if you don't want to Bianca," Maggie said. There was something in the way Bianca seemed to be skating around this.

"No, it's just complicated you know?

"Complicated? How's that? Did she say or do something to you Bianca?"

"No…she didn't say anything…except that she was sorry. It was nice. She called me last night actually. I met her at the boat house," Bianca said.

"Last night?" Maggie asked a bit surprised. Well now she knew were Bianca had been.

"Yeah. I guess she was nervous and had a lot on her mind. So she wanted to meet as soon as we could. I didn't mind. I was having trouble sleeping," Bianca smiled.

"Well what happened? You're killing me here Bink," Maggie returned her smile. "We met and talked. She told me how well she was doing. She looked great too Maggie. I mean she looked healthy and stuff. She apologized for the past and told me she wanted the chance to make it up to me. She asked about Frankie. She had no idea Frankie was killed. She asked if I was seeing anyone new now. I told her no. She…she just wanted to let me know she felt bad for not being there when I was going through all the stuff with Frankie," Bianca said. "Oh. That's good right?" "Yeah I think so." "What else is there Bianca? There's something you're not telling me." Maggie said. She could tell Bianca wasn't saying something. "I…well I got emotional and stuff after we talked about Frankie. And…well she kissed me. It was just a friendly kiss. It was just weird you know? I wasn't expecting it." "She…kissed you…" Maggie said slowly comprehending it, "on the lips?" "Yeah. It didn't mean anything though…" "Hey, its' none of my business right?" Maggie smiled. Though inside she felt like someone had hit her. A thought crossed her mind, she wondered if Bianca felt this way when Tim had kissed her at the boathouse that day. 'Okay…when I kissed Tim. I did initiate it didn't I?' "Sometimes a kiss is just a kiss," Bianca said moving closer to Maggie. Bianca got the distinct feeling she had hurt Maggie, but she wasn't sure why?

Part 6

"Bianca a kiss isn't just a kiss with everyone," Maggie said looking into Bianca's eyes.

"I know I was just trying to be funny. I'm sorry."

"Don't be…I'm just…I don't know," Maggie said looking down at the paper and seeing the picture of her giving Bianca a kiss on the cheek. 'I should have kissed her lips,' Maggie thought.

"Maggie, what's wrong. You're not upset Laura and I kissed are you?" Bianca for her own part was slightly confused. Why would Maggie be acting this way? Could it be she was jealous? But of what? Maggie would always be her best friend; Laura kissing her wouldn't make that go away. To be honest, Bianca didn't really know what Laura kissing her meant. She didn't have time to think about it right now.

"No. Why should I be upset you kissed Laura? I mean, I think it's great you're ready to move on. It's been long enough, you're mourned Frankie. It's time to get on with life, right? If Laura makes you happy, that's great."

"Whoa. Wait a second. Back the speed train up a minute. First of all, Laura kissed me. I didn't kiss her. Second of all, Laura and I are not dating. Laura and I are not even a thing. Maggie I'm more a thing with you then I am with her," Bianca said. 'Maybe that didn't come out quite the way I meant. Oops.'

"You and I are a thing? What exactly is a thing?" Maggie was getting more and more confused by the second. It was like her mind and heart were playing tug of war with her feelings.

"No…I mean…Jesus, I don't know what I mean. I just don't want you to get the wrong idea about Laura and I. It's like…when you kissed Tim. Did you love him? Are you dating him? Are you interested in him?" Bianca asked trying to make her point.

"Point taken," Maggie said.

"Good." Bianca walked over to Maggie and touched her arm. "The only thing I've got close to near and dear in my life right now is you Maggie Stone."

There were a million and one things Maggie could have said at that exact moment. But she choose instead to wait for another time another place. She had to much to think about right then and there. So instead, she grabbed Bianca's hand and lead her toward the door. "Dinner?" she asked smiling.

"I thought you'd never ask," Bianca smiled in return.

Bianca had left the office, her cell phone still on her desk. It rang and rang. Finally, Laura decided to leave a message.

"Bianca, it's Laura. Just wanted to see what you had planned for this evening? Or tomorrow evening. I know it's short notice but I thought maybe we could hike the trail around Willow Lake or something? Just get out and talk some more…in private. Call me and let me know. Take care."

Dinner was great. Maggie was charming and Bianca again enjoyed her company immensely. After dinner they took a walk in the park and had ice cream. They sat on the bench.

"We're not going to be able to do this much longer," Maggie noted. "Fall will be here soon."

"Yeah…but instead of ice cream there will be ice skating," Bianca smiled.

"Ah, no. I don't do ice skating," Maggie replied. "Those thin blades, slippery ice…my butt falling hard…the idea just not appealing you know?"

"I'll teach you. It's easy," Bianca laughed at her friend's honesty.

"Maybe," Maggie answered.

Once back at her room, Bianca dialed Laura's number.

"Hello?"

"Laura, it's Bianca."

"Hey you," Laura smiled. Bianca could almost feel her excitement. "Did you get my message?"

"No. Did you call here or my cell?"

"Your cell," Laura said hopping on her bed and twirling the phone cord in her fingers.

"No I didn't. What's going on?"

"Oh nothing really. I had just called to see if you wanted to go for a hike tonight around Willow Lake or maybe tomorrow night. I wasn't sure. I know you're super busy and I don't want to push you. I know you've got this whole life and everything," Laura felt awkward for some reason. She didn't understand why.

"No. No I'd love to. You want to do it tonight?" Bianca asked.

"Yeah. How's 9 for you?"

"Sounds good. It'll give me time to change. I'll meet you by the boathouse?" Bianca asked.

"It's a plan. See you then," Laura replied, "Bye Bianca."

"Bye Laura."

"Yes!" Laura shouted as she rung up the phone. "Now, what to wear?" She ran to her closet. "Something pretty, yet not smutty," she mumbled. "Screw it, jeans will work." She couldn't get rid of the smile on her face as she changed. She went to her bathroom and brushed her hair and put on some perfume. She hadn't worn it in ages. It was the kind she knew Bianca liked. "I hope this still makes you blush Bianca," Laura smiled.

Bianca was already at the boathouse by the time Laura arrived. She walked over to Bianca and hugged her. "Thanks for coming tonight Bianca," she said smiling.

Bianca hugged her back. 'God she smelt so good. This smell, it's been so long,' Bianca thought.

"I wore it for you," Laura said almost as though she could read Bianca's mind. "I remembered one day we had gone shopping and you thought it smelt so nice. I bought it," she said blushing slightly. "I used to wear it before…well before I got sick."

"I remember," Bianca smiled. "The boat. That was the last time you wore it," Bianca stated. It wasn't a question, just a sad realization.

"I wish…I wish we could go back to that night and just start from there you know? Forget all the things in-between. But the problem with that is that in forgetting the bad, you lose the good. The people who mean something to you and the lessons you've learned. I've learned so much Bianca, you know this right?" Laura asked taking Bianca's hand. Bianca smiled and nodded.

"I know Laura. You don't have to feel like you must prove something to me. It's not necessary. You don't owe me anything," Bianca said. She rubbed Laura's arm. "We're friends after all."

"Friends," Laura said sadly, "but what about…I mean…there was a time when you wanted more from me. Remember that?"

"Yes. I remember…so does the whole town," Bianca said looking down.

"We never really talked about it Bianca," Laura said taking her finger and tilting Bianca's chin up. "You don't have to look away from me you know? If anyone should be embarrassed or ashamed it's me. Not you. You were the brave one Bianca. You at least had the courage to tell the truth. Me, I hid behind lie after lie. I lost myself in them so badly that I didn't know what was real anymore. I don't ever want to be that way again. I don't ever want to lie to you," Laura said. She took her hand off of Bianca's chin and touched her cheek.

"Laura?" Bianca was confused now. Why was Laura being so affectionate? Why now?

"I…I have this dream you know?" Laura said removing her hand. She realized she had made Bianca uncomfortable and she didn't want that, "I dreamt that you and I were staying at this beach resort. It was like one of those types you see in postcards. And the suns out, and the waves are crashing, and we're lying there on the sand, in nice low cut bathing suits watching life around us. That's when I realize I want to be there with you. I realize it's a dream, but I don't want to wake up. Cause I'm afraid I can't have you, the real you. I'm so afraid I blew my chance. Did I? Did I blow my chance Bianca? If you say yes, I promise to never bother you again about this. I'll still be your friend. But if I didn't, if there's still a chance with you and I…I'll do whatever it takes to earn back what we might have once had." Laura looked Bianca square in the eyes. "Which is it Bianca?"

"I…I don't know…" Bianca said.

Maggie had gone for a walk after she had dropped Bianca off. She needed time to think. Now she stood outside the boathouse. She hadn't meant to listen in on this conversation, but now she couldn't walk away. She needed to know the answer as badly as this woman Laura did.

part 7

Maggie and Laura both awaited Bianca's answer. For her own part, Maggie was slightly hurt that Bianca had not shared with her the whole story. The only thing Maggie knew of Bianca and Laura's relationship was that they were friends. That Laura got sick, and after her sickness she went kind of crazy. She became a pathological liar and hurt so many people. But most of all, she hurt Bianca. And for Maggie that wasn't excusable. No one hurt Bianca. No one.

So what was this now? Was there a history between Laura and Bianca? Were they a couple? And if so, why did Laura marry her cousin Leo? Maggie was processing so much information she felt like her head was going to explode. She watched Bianca now, and saw the look of fear and terror on her face. She literally looked like a deer caught in headlights. Maggie took a breath and hoped she was about to do the right thing.

"Bianca?" Maggie called out walking up the stairs. "I thought I heard you!" Maggie said smiling between both girls.

"Maggie?" thank god, Bianca thought. "What are you doing here?"

"I was out on a walk," Maggie said looking at Laura. "Hi, I'm Maggie Stone," she extended her hand.

"Hi Maggie, Laura," Laura said. Damn, she was so close to getting an answer from Bianca. She didn't want to push her friend, but she needed to know if she was wasting her time or not. She needed to know if there was a chance, no matter how small.

"Nice to meet you," Maggie said. "You okay Binks? You're looking a little pale there?"

"Yeah I'm fine. I'm not feeling too well. I think this hike is not a good idea Laura. I'll call you later okay?" Bianca said. She felt bad, she knew she and Laura needed to talk, but she just couldn't do this now. Not with Maggie here.

"Okay. You alright to get home?" Laura asked.

"Yeah, Maggie will walk me, we're in the same place," Bianca said smiling. She walked over and hugged Laura goodbye.

"Call me," Laura said returning her hug. "It was nice meeting you Maggie."

"Same here," Maggie said walking away with Bianca.

Once clear of the boathouse Maggie stopped walking and looked at Bianca. "Want to tell me what's going on Bianca?"

Bianca had been so wrapped up in her thoughts; she hadn't even noticed Maggie had stopped walked. They were close to the shoreline.

"What do you mean?" Bianca asked.

"I mean, what's the deal with you and Laura?"

"There is no deal with Laura and I, Maggie. We're just friends."

"Is that what your answer is going to be when you talk to her? That you just want to be her friend?" Maggie asked.

"What? Were…were you listening?" Bianca asked. Part of her was shocked Maggie had listened but another part of her was torn Maggie had heard. Maggie knew now that there was more to the 'Bianca and Laura' story.

"Yes I was listening," Maggie answered, and hung her head slightly, "I'm sorry. I didn't know it was important. I was just out walking and thinking and I heard your voice so I followed it and that's when Laura started her speech."

"So you know?" Bianca said softly.

"No that's just it. I don't know what's going on here at all. But I'd love for you to fill me in?" Maggie said moving closer to Bianca. She took Bianca's hand in her own, "Only if you want to that is."

"You know that thing with the paper this afternoon? Well it's ten times worse. When I was 16 someone stole my journal. In my journal I talked about my feelings for Laura. I loved her. We were best friends at the time. Laura didn't even know I was gay. No one did really."

This was making a lot more sense to Maggie now. She watched Bianca with eyes that spoke her feelings she had hidden and kept from everyone, including herself. The eyes were soft and glassy, rimmed with potential tears. Bianca told her how she had been blackmailed, how her everyone in town had found out about her being gay, and worst yet how Laura found out about it. "You poor thing," Maggie said sadly.

"I just didn't want you to freak out…I didn't want you to think," Bianca paused. God this was embarrassing. "I didn't want you to think I went around getting crushes on all my friends. After the birthday incident…I just thought keeping that part of the story out would be for the best."

"So you were afraid I was going to be upset or think badly of you because of your history with Laura? You thought I would let that interfere with us?"

"I don't know what I thought really. I guess it just seemed like the right thing you know?" Bianca said. She looked out to the lake. It was beautiful tonight. Too bad it had to be overshadowed by this whole dreaded conversation.

"If I hadn't come in there tonight, what would your answer have been?" Maggie asked looking out to the lake as well, their hands still together.

"I don't know. I mean I care about Laura. I won't lie to you and say that kissing her didn't feel good. But I think a part of me is confusing the past with now. I know how I felt for her years ago, but not anymore. So much has changed. I met Frankie and then…" Bianca paused and turned to Maggie. Now or never. She looked down at their clasped hands and back to Maggie's eyes. "Then I met you."

"Am I reason enough not to?"

"What we have is…well I don't exactly know what it is. You're my best friend. And I know I love you so much. But I guess…well let me put it in the simplest terms. It's not my feelings that are an issue here," Bianca said the last part quickly. She couldn't believe she was doing this. She had just told Maggie that she did care for her as more then a friend. The ball was in her court.

Maggie lowered Bianca's hand. "My feelings? I've told you how I feel about you Bianca. I think you're the greatest thing I have in my life right now. Isn't that enough?" Maggie felt her heart ripping. She wasn't ready for this yet. There was a declaration to be made sometime, but not now. Not like this, under these forced circumstances.

"So as a friend then," Bianca asked softly. She had the answer she needed from Maggie. It wasn't the one she had been hoping for, nor the one she had dreamed about. Bianca had put it out there and Maggie had drawn the line in the sand.

"So it didn't mean anything then? The dancing, the kiss, the dates and dinners we go on." Bianca needed to know the truth. She needed to know if this was just another thing she saw but no one else had. It was like Laura all over again, Bianca thought sadly.

"Binks of course they meant something. They were fun. It was a goodtime. Isn't that enough for you? I thought…I didn't know you wanted more then that?" Maggie answered.

"No you didn't. But you do now. And I understand if you don't want that."

"Bianca, this is just so fast for me you know?" Maggie said defensibly.

"But it was okay for you to kiss Tim like you did and flirt with him?" Bianca stated.

"What?"

"You say we're going to fast but you advanced on Tim like a tiger cat that day. The first time I leaned into you, you freaked out and I hadn't even kissed you."

"One has nothing to do with the other," Maggie said raising her voice slightly.

"Don't you get it, they do Maggie." Bianca said lowering her head and kicking the dirt at her feet.

"How? Tim's a guy and you're a girl." It was out before she could stop it or consider what she had said.

"I see. SO I guess I do have my answer then," Bianca said sadly, "I'm okay to dance with, to kiss, to touch, to eat meals with, go to movies with, and be your constant support and enduring friend…but I'm never going to get your heart because I'm a woman?"

"Bianca why are you complicating this so much. Can't we just forget about this whole damn thing? Forget I asked about Laura, forget I asked about your answer…just…can't we just get out of here?" Maggie pleaded.

"Yeah. I'm ready to go home," Bianca said softly. She started to walk away. Maggie followed suit, but a few feet back. There was a distance there now, one neither girl had felt in months. Not since the birthday kiss incident. Home they went, to their own beds and their own thoughts.

Part 8

Neither Maggie nor Bianca talked the entire way back to the Valley Inn. They were both shut into their own silence. Once they entered, Bianca turned back to Maggie and gave her effort smiled, "thanks for walking me back," she went to her room. Maggie didn't even have a chance to respond. She watched Bianca walk away. And with each step a small part of her ached.

"What a mess," she mumbled and walked toward her room.

The phone rang and Bianca answered.

"Bianca?"

"Hey Laura."

"Look. I'm sorry to call so early. I just…I owe you a big apology for last night. I had no right to put you on the spot the way I did. I'm sorry. Can you ever forgive me?"

"It's okay Laura. You…you just needed to get it out there, trust me I understand more then you know," Bianca said sadly remember the events from the night before.

"What's wrong Bianca? You sound so sad."

"Long night," Bianca said softly. She had gotten maybe 2 hours of sleep.

"Would you be apposed to coffee and bagels from the bakery?"

"Gosh no. I'm starving," Bianca said, "and coffee would be heavenly sent right now."

Knock knock.

"You didn't" Bianca said smiling. She walked to the door and there stood Laura with her cell phone and bagels and large coffee's in hand.

"I didn't just want to show up so I figured I call first before coming to grovel and beg for forgiveness," Laura smiled.

"Come in, come in."

Bianca took the coffees from Laura's hands. "Thanks, I was beginning to lose the feeling," she said laughing.

"Oh my God Laura, this smells so good," Bianca said sniffing the coffee. She sipped it.

"Good huh?" Laura asked. Bianca answered with a smile.

Both girls hoped onto Bianca's bed and ate their bagels and joked about the old days. For Laura just spending time with Bianca was the best feeling in the world. For Bianca the much-needed trip down memory lane proved to be the best medicine.

Once a silence hit, Bianca knew it was time to talk of other things. "Laura, why did you ask me that last night?"

Laura knew this was coming. "I have been thinking about it for a long time. You know when I left here and went to get better the person I thought of every day and wished I had with me by my side wasn't my mom or Leo. It was you Bianca. It took me losing you to realize what I had. And I don't want to make that mistake again. I took us for granted and I'll never be able to get that back, to make it up. But I can promise you that I want to dedicate everyday of my life here to making yours happy," Laura said softly.

Bianca reached down and took her hand. It was the sweetest thing she could have said. "Laura, you do make me happy. Just knowing you're back and healthy and ready to start your life again. That's all I could ask for." Bianca said.

Laura smiled and then cupped Bianca's cheek again. It was a replay of last night's events. This time though, Bianca didn't panic. She just stood there watching her old friend. "I don't want to be your friend Bianca. I want to be your lover, your hero, your confidant, your dream catcher, and your other half. I want to be the person you wake up in the morning to and the last face you see when you sleep at night," Laura said. "I won't give up on you or us…ever," she said softly. She leaned in slowly. Bianca could pull away if she wanted to. But she didn't. Eyes locked, Laura leaned in and kissed her slowly and softly. Bianca brought her hands up around Laura's head pulling her into a deeper kiss. They stayed like that for minutes. Laura finally laid Bianca back on the bed.

"Was it you yesterday?" Bianca asked breaking away from a heated kiss.

"Me what?"

"The paper and pictures. Did you fix that?"

"No. It wasn't me," Laura answered.

"You're lying," Bianca smiled. "What you did meant a lot to me," Bianca said.

"I told you I'd be here for you," Laura said caressing her cheek. Bianca closed her eyes. This closeness and feeling of love was overwhelming. It had been so long, too long really. Their bodies touching, over clothes caressing. Neither girl wanted to move too fast. They were just enjoying the company that was the other.

"You're blushing," Laura said softly. "I love to make you blush," she said softly.

I love to make you blush…Maggie, Bianca thought. No wait. This wasn't right. She could be doing this. She did care for Laura. She even loved her, but not like this. She couldn't do this to Maggie. She couldn't hurt Maggie. And no matter what Maggie had said to Bianca about them just being friends…Bianca knew this would hurt Maggie. She pulled back from Laura.

"I can't do this," Bianca said softly. Laura lay partially on top of her.

"Why?" she asked stopping the kisses.

"Maggie."

It was one word, but Laura knew the implications. She should have known, and she was kicking herself for not seeing it sooner. "You love her?" Laura asked softly caressing Bianca's cheek, watching the tear fall.

"I do. With all my heart. I can't do this to her."

"She's lucky then to have your love," Laura said.

Maggie needed to talk to Bianca. She needed her to understand what was going on. She might not have been ready last night to make her feelings clear, but after being on her second day with no sleep, no was a good time as any. She opened the door to Bianca's room and walked in. She didn't knock. They hardly ever did.

"Bianca?" Maggie said. If a word could be laced with love, hate, anger, betrayal, and any other emotion imaginable this word carried it.

Bianca and Laura jumped up. "Maggie!" Bianca said startled. She looked into Maggie's eyes and saw the hurt there. She looked at Laura and herself. "This isn't what it looks like. I swear," Bianca said trying to get out of bed and get to Maggie. Laura pulled herself off of Bianca very quickly. It was too late Maggie was gone.

"What did I do?" Bianca said softly. She closed her eyes and saw a scene play out before her. She saw herself walking in unsuspectingly to a room. She saw Frankie lying in bed with a guy. She remembered how she felt and the emotions running through her. She'd just done the same thing to the one person she loved more then life itself.

Part 9

Bianca followed Maggie all the way back to her room. Maggie closed the door. She could hear Bianca out in the hall knocking and pleading with her to open up. Every time Maggie closed her eyes, she saw Bianca lying there with the other woman on top of her. She ever had tears on her face, Maggie thought.

"Please open up Maggie. You owe me the chance to explain," she shouted. With that the door flew open.

"I owe you? I don't owe you anything Bianca," Maggie said going to close the door again. Bianca placed her hands on the door and pushed it aside. She was coming in. She wasn't about to do this out in the hallway.

"How dare you to presume to know anything that just happened in that room. You haven't even let me explain."

"I don't think I need that explained to me. I think what I saw was pretty basic Bink. Not much left to the imagination." Maggie said walking away. She couldn't look at Bianca.

"What you saw was only part of it. Not all of it."

"What?"

"You saw Laura and I in bed. Yes. But what you didn't see or hear for that matter was me telling her I couldn't…I wouldn't." Bianca stopped. How was she going to say this?

"Bianca it's none of my business," Maggie said. 'How come it hurt so much then?'

Bianca spun Maggie around. "It is your business Maggie. Don't you see that?" Maggie looked down. "Look at me Maggie. Do you know why I couldn't make love to Laura or even be with her? Because of you, Maggie. I wouldn't ever be able to give myself to Laura because it's you I think about every waking second of my life. It's you I dream about. It's you I want to spend the rest of my life with. And if that means I settle for just being your friend and sipping coffee…fine. I'll deal with it. I told Laura that. That's what we were talking about before you came in and make your own conclusions."

"What if I'm not good enough for you?"

"Not good enough for me? Are you kidding? Maggie do you have any idea how lucky I am to have found you. You mean so much more to me then anyone ever has…even Frankie." There. Bianca had said it.

"So you don't want Laura. You want me?" Maggie asked.

"God yes. I want you more then you'll ever know," Bianca smiled. She was relived that Maggie seemed to be letting go of the anger.

"You want me…like that?" Maggie asked. Bianca knew she was talking about the situation Maggie had caught she and Laura in.

"Honestly, yes I do. But I don't need you like that. If this," Bianca said indicating the two of them as friends, "is all I can have. I'll take it."

Maggie captured Bianca's lips in a heating seeking kiss. Bianca was so caught off guard that she stumbled backwards into the door, all the while Maggie's lips attached to her own. Maggie's hands cupped Bianca's face and Bianca's hands went around to Maggie's back. After moments Maggie pulled away.

"Oh my," Bianca let out a sigh.

"Now that's a blush," Maggie smiled.

"Why? You didn't have to do that Maggie," Bianca asked.

"I know. I wanted to. I've wanted to for awhile. In fact, I was on my way to do it this morning when I walked in on you two. I…I thought I had lost my chance. I thought I had waited too long. I'm so glad I didn't."

Bianca pulled Maggie to her. "Don't make me wait again," she said kissing her lips. Maggie and Bianca power struggled the whole way to the bed. Each wanting to control yet each wanting to be controlled. "Wait…wait," Bianca called out as Maggie was kissing her neck.

"What?"

"Are you sure? I just want to be certain this is what you want?"

"Bianca I love you dearly, but shut up," Maggie said smiling and claiming the girls lips again. Bianca moaned and Maggie knew she won. They stayed like that for hours, just kissing and enjoying the closeness of each other.

As day turned into night, and caresses grew more passionate, and desires more powerful…they lost control. What little clothing had been left was tossed aside and now in the darkness they made love to one another. No one else existed in those moments. It was just the two of them.

Maggie whispered as she brought her mouth down to explore Bianca's neckline. She found soft ears and kissed and sucked the gently. She knew Bianca was enjoying the sensations because sighs and moans were all that filled the room. Kissing Bianca's lips one more time, Maggie moved lower to her breasts. Cupping one with her hand, she felt it's softness. The other one she kissed with her mouth. Bianca's nipples were already hard from her excitement. She brought her hands up to Maggie's head, pushing her into them even more so. 'I'm in heaven' Maggie thought. Maggie shared the sensations coursing through Bianca as well.

Bianca felt Maggie's hips rocking. Her own desire building up, she rolled Maggie over and separated her legs, placing herself between them. Maggie felt Bianca's leg press up against her most sensitive area. "Oh my God," she breathed into Bianca's ears.

After a few moments Maggie shifted her legs so that each woman had a thigh between them. She heard Bianca gasp when her thigh reached Bianca's own pleasure area. Instinctively, she pressed into her. Their hips moving with up and down, the girl's excitement grew. "You feel so good," Maggie said between moans.

Maggie reached up and cupped Bianca's breasts, rubbing her nipples with her thumbs. "Oh God," Bianca called out. She was so close she could feel it coming. Maggie could feel Bianca's excitement. She worked her hips faster and fast, feeling herself climbing higher and higher. Bianca went first, taking Maggie with her over the edge of ecstasy. Bianca breathed heavily and Maggie cupped her face, bringing her down for soft kisses.

"That was amazing," Maggie said.

"Yeah it was," Bianca smiled. "You love to make me blush. You should see the one I'm wearing right now."

Both girls burst out laughing.

Part 10

Laura and Bianca sat on the bench at the boat house. They sipped from their coffees and looked out at the scene playing before them. It was a beautiful day, and the sun shined off the lake.

"Well I got to say Bianca, I'm not thrilled I can't be the one with you in all this, but if you're happy then that's what counts." Laura smiled genuinely at her friend.

"I am happy Laura. Maggie's wonderful," Bianca smiled in return.

Truth was she had all she could hope for in Maggie. She was her best friend, her lover, her confidant, and her better half.

"I can't help but wonder what would have happened between the two of us, you know? I mean if I hadn't gotten sick. Do you think I might have been able to make you happy?" Laura asked looking down. She was hit with the sudden feeling of sadness knowing she was never going to get the chance to be the one making Bianca happy. She had hers, and she blew it.

"Laura," Bianca said softly, "you were my best friend. You still mean a lot to me. You're home now, and your healthy and happy. That's the most anyone could ask for."

"Yeah…spoken like the one who got what they wanted," Laura said giggling.

"I am so afraid," Bianca said.

"Of what?"

"I'm afraid I'm going to blow this. I mean Maggie is so amazing. She's everything I could have asked for…and what if I blow it. I'm just so nervous. It's not like I have this great family history to use as an example. I mean my mothers been married how many times? My Uncle slept with my mother, my father had an affair, my sister…well I don't even want to begin to touch that one…I just mean there's been so many screw-ups. What if I can't make it work?"

"Bianca, there are no guarantees in life…just like there are no guarantees in love. You do your best and that's all you can ask for. Maggie loves you. You love her. Sometimes, that's enough," Laura said. She looked out and watched the sun set.

"I'm sorry if you got hurt in this Laura. I didn't mean to lead you on or give you the wrong idea. You just had the bad timing of being with me when I sorted stuff out," Bianca said hugging her friend. "Can you ever forgive me?"

"Of course I can. Trust me, I know all about the difficulties of sorting out your feelings."

"Thanks Laura," Bianca smiled.

"Hey- what are friends for?" Laura smiled back.

"Oh geez- I better get going. Maggie and I are meeting for dinner. Hey, why don't you join us?" Bianca said standing to go.

"No. No thanks Bianca. Two's company...three's a crowd." Laura smiled. "Besides, Jamie and I are going to do some brother and sister bonding tonight. I'm getting us pizza and movies. But thank anyways."

"Have a good night then," Bianca said waving and walking down the steps.

"See ya," Laura waved back. She sat there in silence for the next few minutes. 'Yeah...what if?'

Fade out.
