Author's Notes: I haven't watched AMC in a while, so please forgive me. School is evil. This is the third in my Creed series (seven unrelated stand-alone stories based on songs by Creed and of which this is the only AMC one.) Song lyrics are in the double tildes (~.)

~~She wears a coat of color
Loved by some feared by others
She's immortalized in young men's eyes~~

Bianca sat at a table at the Pine Valley Inn watching Greenlee Smythe, who was perched on a stool at the bar, sipping on a martini. And for once, Bianca couldn't dredge up any hatred for her.

She was now humbled in a way. Leo had dumped her and her family had disowned her. Bianca could relate to her. Her own mother basically disowned the idea that her daughter was gay and pretended that it wasn't true and Sarah had dumped her. They were alike. And Bianca wondered just how alike they were. So she stood up and walked over to join Greenlee at the bar.

~~Lust she breeds in the eyes of brothers
Violent sons make bitter mothers
So close your eyes, here's your surprise~~

Greenlee looked at the person now sitting beside her. She had pretty much been shunned by the whole town, so she hadn't expected anyone, especially Bianca, to approach her.

"You look like you need a friend," Bianca explained.

"And you're it?"

"Yeah, I guess I am."

Greenlee nodded and polished off her martini. "Why?"

"We aren't that different, Greens. I was sitting over there, watching you and it struck me that we aren't as different as we like to think."

"That had to have been hard to admit...especially to me," the blonde laughed.

"Kind of, yes. But it could have been worse," Bianca pointed out. "Look, I like you. What do you say we just start over? As friends."

Greenlee thought for a few brief moments before nodding. "Sounds good. Maybe we'll actually be able to get along."

"Maybe."

~~Beautiful is empty
Beautiful is free
Beautiful loves no one
Beautiful stripped me~~

And that was how their odd friendship began, with one uneasy truce that strengthened with time. Slowly but surely Greenlee was accepted back into life and as Bianca's best friend.

~~In your mind she's your companion
Vile instincts often candid
Your regret is all that's left~~

"Greenlee?" Bianca asked, somewhat quietly.

"Hmmm?" Greenlee asked from where she lay next to her friend on the bed.

The two girls were having a sleepover at the Kane/Montgomery(/Du Pres) home. It seemed a bit childish, but they had fun so no one complained.

"Do you regret being my friend?"

Greenlee opened her eyes and turned her head to look at the brunette. "No. Why? Do you think I do?"

"No, I was just wondering."

"Oh." She was silent for a few moments. "Do you?"

"Regret being your friend? No. I actually like it and you."

The blonde reached out and grasped at her friend's hand and she leaned over to give her a kiss on the cheek. "Thank you. For, you know, being my friend."

"It's not a big deal."

~~Beautiful is empty
Beautiful is free
Beautiful loves no one
Beautiful stripped me~~

The next morning Greenlee awoke before Bianca and went to the kitchen to get some breakfast. Erica was on a business trip and Leo was probably, as far as Greenlee knew, sleeping. That's why she was surprised to find him in the kitchen.

"Leo! Uh...hi."

He glanced up at her. "Hi Greens." After she sat down with a bowl of cereal he looked up at her. "May I ask you a question?"

"Sure. Shoot."

"Why are you friends with Bianca?"

"What? What kind of a question is that?"

"Are you just pretending to be friends with her to get to me?"

"Geez, egotistical much? Not that it's any of your business, but I happen to actually like her. We just had to give each other a chance to notice it."

Bianca smiled from her position just outside the door. She hadn't meant to eavesdrop, but she just had to hear Greenlee's answer and after she heard it, she couldn't deny any longer that she was in love with her best friend. Now she just had to deal with it.

~~She told me where I'm going
And it's far away from home
I think I'll go there on my own~~

~~Beautiful is empty
Beautiful is free
Beautiful loves no one
Beautiful stripped me~~
