EASTER HOLIDAY

Traditions of Easter
The Germans brought the
Easter rabbit to America
during the 1700"s. It was originally
rejected but finally accepted in America
shortly after the Civil War. The
exchange of eggs in the springtime is a
custom that is centuries
old. The egg is a symbol of
rebirth.

Today, children
color and participate in Easter egg
hunts. They place them in their Easter
baskets with their chocolate bunnies,
jelly beans and marshmallow chicks.

"Here comes
Peter Cottontail, hoppin' down the bunny
trail, Hippity Hoppity, Easters on its
way".
