Jessica is most definitely my sense of duty. When something needs to be done, she does it, no matter the personal affect. She also tends to be irritated when she's not allowed to do her job.
Jessica is quite literally the most human of the group as Tatya, the other full human, has Borg implants. She's very down to Earth and has learned a respect for all things from her father, Chakotay who is now captain of Voyager after Kathryn's promotion and a few years of updates and modifications to the ship's systems. Although she had few problems with her classmates at Starfleet Academy, a few of her coworkers on Voyager (including the new chief of engineering, Lieutenant Davis) feel that she hasn't earned her place and rank on Voyager. They feel she is too young and only became a lieutenant because of connections at Starfleet Command. Because of this, she feels she has to work twice as hard to earn half the respect.
