Jamie is basically a construction of what I always wanted to be: popular, athletic, and confident. She's very intelligent and a born leader. I originally created her to be a projection of my inner self.
What upsets Jamie the most is that the crews who worked to build Babylon at the Mars Fleet Yard were apparently lax in their duties. This resulted in countless problems with the ship, including energy loss, communication errors, and mass inefficiency. Also, Starfleet sent Babylon on her first mission before a set crew was assembled. Instead, they opted to temporarily put together a skeleton crew to accelerate Bablyon into commission. In this situation, Jamie has been thrust into a possition of both Chief Medical Officer and Security Cheif (both titles of which she is completely qualified) since Starfleet was unable to find officers for either possition who were ready to transfer.
While at Starfleet Academy, Jamie received degrees in almost every field, making her a very useful crew member. She was also the third Klingon to join the academy (after Worf and B'Elanna) and thusly often received greif from her fellow students.
