Let’s face it, some people are adolescents until their thirties. This would be why there’s so many high profile parties involving college students. That is the point in time that it becomes actually legal to do the things some of them had been doing since their early teen years.
This time of year, however, the most common party is a graduation party. Seniors spend sometimes up to the entire year planning this “finally getting out of school” party just to be entering another two to four years of school starting next fall. Still, this does mark an end; high school is over.
So, let’s celebrate! Some have their graduation parties at home, while others opt to rent out a larger building. Popular sites are the local library, community center, and sometimes a park. Another choice comes in the date. By tradition, most people have their parties either the day before or the day of graduation, but more and more, students are now having their parties during the weekend before or after Graduation Weekend.
Every party is different for every person. What a person has at their graduation depends on their tastes. For exmple, most people expect cake of some sort to be at a graduation party, but some people don’t like cake. They may, instead, have cookies or bars at their party. Also, some may have some background music or even a dance if they can manage it. In the end, it all comes down to how much the party costs as to what is there. Some may spend as much as $500 for food decorations, and rent for their party.
Most graduates would say the cost is worth it. For many, this is the last time they will see their friends for a long time, posibly even until a class reunion. So, in some ways, you could just think of this as a “farewell until we meet again” party.
