Many things happen in our lives, but it was what happened on Sunday, February 18, 2001 that finally got me do dedicate my website, though I've been planing to for a while.
I have no doubt that millions of NASCAR fans were watching when Dale Earnhardt, Sr. crashed on the last curve of the last lap of the Daytona 500. Being a NASCAR fan myself with a family history of NASCAR fans, we were all devistated when we heard the news that a legend had died. Born in 1951, Earnhardt was only 49, not having reached his birthday yet that year, and I'm certain that he will be remembered.
In this light, I am now starting the list of people this website is dedicated to. The list will grow longer. There is no doubt to that. More than anything, I belive it is mainly a list to remember our heroes and lost friends.
The first aniversary of this list has past. It doesn't take much for me to remember this date because it is also my uncle's birthday. To all those viewing this page, please take a moment to sit in silence in rememberance for those we have lost.
Some of you may ask about Shadlee. Yes, it is an unusual name, but she was an unusual person. I didn't know her as a close friend, but she was in a few classes with me, and I had known her since elementary school. To lose a classmate is a terrible thing, especially so close to Prom, as was her case. She was only 16 and a junior in high school.
