Nigel Planer

Nigel Planer has recently been seen in a part in "The Bill" and from "The Grimleys". The comedian best known as Neil from "The Young Ones" and from "The Comic Strip Presents..." talks to the "Ultimate Comedy" site for a brief chat, away from his busy schedule. We would like to take this opportunity to thank Nigel for his help.

What made you want to get into comedy?

Necessity.

Do you have any favourite comedians and TV programmes?

At the moment, I like "Smack The Pony" and "Ali G".

Do you have any fears or phobias that you can tell us about?

Being killed for no reason.

What do you like to do in your spare time?

I don't get any at the moment.

What was the first ever joke you can remember?

Why do ducks walk softly?

They can't walk hardly.

Where do you see the future taking you?

Home.

What was the first ever film you saw at the cinema and what impact did it have on you?

It was The Vikings with Kirk Douglas.

If you could visit anywhere in the world, where would it be?

The Grand Canyon.

Do you have any brothers or sisters?

I have 2 brothers, a cartoonist and a comedy writer.

How did you get into TV work?

Founder member of the Comic Strip and Comedy store.

Are you working on anything at the moment?

Finishing my second novel.

If you could or could have worked on any programme or film, what would it be or have been?

I'd like to have played Halliwell in Prick up your ears.
