Malcolm's House

The Kitchen

Facts on the Kitchen

Malcolm creator Linwood Boomer says of the house ~ "We wanted to have a filthy mess and still have a place you wanted to be. We did that with warm lighting and colors that are flattering to the actors."

The fridge is full of empty food containers including Hungry Man frozen dinners (ie: Salisbury Steak), Swanson frozen dinners (Beef Pot Pie), and 3 different types of ice cream (Ben & Jerry's among other kinds).

Bryan Cranston's say on the unplugged fridge ~ "It's Smelly!".

The crew uses the refrigerator to post pictures drawn by their children, however there are also various stickers and magnets including one that asks "Do You YAHOO?".

In the kitchen are piles of newspapers, and thanks to the props department, they are filled with mock stories.

"We're constantly having food fights. They get mad at us, but it's sort of like anything goes."~Bryan Cranston

Says Jane Kaczmarek ~ "We have new place mats every episode. I think it's ridiculous, but I guess it's the one concession they've made to make us look a little spiffy."

The Boy's Bedroom

Facts on the Bedroom

There are jars of cow brains and frogs on Malcolm's dresser, all of which are favorties among the cast and crew.

On Reese's dresser are magazines like "Mustang Illustrated" and "5.0 Tech Guide", whoch Frankie and Justin like to read in between takes. "We're going to be driving really soon, so we're always looking through the magazines like, 'Let's see what kind of cars we're going to get.'"

"There are headless Barbies and G.I. Joes with both legs missing," says Boomer. "Thankfully no one has tripped and broken their neck."

The Super Soaker by Malcolm and Dewey's bed is one of Frankie's favorite props. Even though there's not water in it. "If you pump it up and [shoot] it, all this air comes out."

While Frankie's busy with the water guns, Jane is having fun looking at the boys' book shelf, which has books like "Anne Of Greene Gables" and "Nancy Drew: The Clue of the Broken Locket". "I bring them home and read them to her [her daughter] a couple of times."

The reason why there are little "KDM"'s in the righthand corner of the picture is because I took these pictures from my Entertainment Weekly magazine, so as far as I know of, these pics are only on my website as of yet. Thanks to EW for all the info.
