"I'm still sleeping. I'm in my pleasant dream. In the bar. With Jarod". But she wasn't with him, and she wasn't in a bar. Not even in a pleasant dream - in a nightmare, or worse. She remembered her failure today. Well, not really hers, but still a *failure*.
If everything was OK they just got what they wanted. Miss Parker ground her teeth. She took a look-see round the place. It was daddy's office. She remembered every thought and feeling of the time she spent in that damned place.
"It's not fair, " Miss Parker thought.
"You said something Angel?"
If only she could say "Yes, that this idiot buggered up all my work, ruined all my plans! We almost caught Jarod! Daddy, may I kill him? Please!"
"No." Miss Parker replied frigidly, "I just..."
"What? Well, it doesn't matter. All I want to know is, how did you miss Jarod? As far as I know, this time it was supposed to be guaranteed."
Mr Lyle winked leerily at Miss Parker. At that moment, she wanted to blind her "brother". It was such a humiliating situation! "I'm relying on *him*! How did I get this way?! *I* consorted with a psycho, and the devil himself!"
"Say, sis," He cracked a smile; "Dad can know *the whole* truth." He lifted his eyebrows sardonically.
She thought "Hey, you came on strong, and if I kill you now, nobody will be surprised.
Besides, I'll wipe out *the evidence*". Miss Parker reached out for her gun, but suddenly a fire alarm sounded. It was a very annoying noise - incessant, howling, intolerable and ... familiar.
"No... no.. I don't want to wake up," babbled Miss Parker.
"Just let me kill him!"
But slowly she realized that it was not a fire alarm. It was a phone call.
Miss Parker tried to remember what was going on, where and what she was doing, but she couldn't think straight. Miss Parker recollected only two images: a half-naked Jarod and an almost-killed Lyle.
"Shut up, shut up.... stop ringing!... stop!!!"
Miss Parker was so angry that she opened her eyes wildly and swore. The phone was still ringing.
Miss Parker grabbed the phone and said through clenched teeth, "What?!"
"Nice to hear you again, Miss Parker." His chirpy voice irritated her, "I know that we met today, but it was ..."
"Forget about it. It's too late for a heart-to-heart talk about bygone times. So - what do you want?!" Her voice raised. Jarod really made Miss Parker nervous - besides, she still remembered her dream, and was angry with herself.
-I just want to thank you for assistance...
Will be continued :)
