Tea and a Total Lack of Sympathy

Review:

Summary: Grace and Jack are thrilled to learn that one of their favourite shows, ‘Antiques on the Road' is coming to town. This show appraises people's antiques, telling them if it's worth something or not. The pair scheme to get on TV with a worthless antique, just so Grace can do her ‘disappointed' face and Jack can hit on the host.

Will, meanwhile, is in deep trouble, when his boss warns him that if he doesn't get a respected and wealthy client by the end of the week, he'll be fired.

At the ‘Antiques on the Road' show, Jack and Grace get nab a spot on the show opposite the host, Paul, to have their ‘antique' teapot appraised (the teapot is really just an ordinary teapot Grace bought at a lesbian thrift shop) .

Back at the office, Will is trying desperately to get a client, but so far has little luck. When Mr. Doucette corners him about it, Will begins to defend himself when Karen enters with a folder Will left at Grace's office, snips at Will's boss, and leaves. Will starts to apologize when Mr. Doucette tells Will that the company has been after Stan's company to sign on for years and that he had no idea Will was this close to them. He orders Will to get Walker, Inc. signed.

At the show, Jack and Grace are having their teapot appraised and are shocked to learn it's true value is $30 000. After the spot is finished filming, Jack and Grace begin to argue over who should get the $30 000. Grace suggests that they sell the teapot and split the money 50/50. Jack agrees, then grabs the teapot and runs off. Grace runs after him.

Meanwhile, Will has tracked Karen down to an upscale Manhattan bar. When he approaches her, she first pretends not to recognize him and refers to herself as ‘Anastasia Beaverhausen'. When she sees Will isn't buying it, she asks why he's there and he lies and orders a drink.

Back at the show, Grace is madly hunting down Jack and finally finds him cowering in a chest. He takes off again and Grace chases him....right through a paper dressing screen which Paul has just appraised for a couple as being worth $25 000. He immediately takes Grace and Jack's teapot and gives it to the couple.

Back at the bar, Will and Karen have begun ‘bonding' over drinks, sharing ‘war stories'. Karen admits to being on the verge of almost not disliking Will. He takes this as an opportunity and casually questions Karen about her lawyers. She quickly catches on and warns Will that if he wants to get to Walker, Inc. he's got to go through her. She makes him suck a peanut of the table, then has him sing ‘I Honestly Love You', a song he told her he sang in eighth grade and was completely humiliated by. After she forces him to serenade both her and the piano player, he snaps and tells her that he is a damn good lawyer and she would be lucky to have him. He tells her that she's sadistic and bitter and empty, among other things, and leaves.

The next day, Will is packing his things in his office, preparing to be fired. Mr. Doucette enters and Will tries to explain it to him, but is surprised when his boss congratulates him. Mr. Doucette informs him that Karen signed the papers that morning. When she enters, Will says he thinks she's still on the verge on not disliking him. He then apologizes for what he said, but Karen tells him he didn't say anything. He then offers to take her to lunch, to which she replies ‘Honey... I don't eat with the help, ok?'
