MegaDeth, There are so many things to say about them. MegaDeth is Thrash Metal and in my opinion what thrash should be. Yeah they have had ups and downs but you have to love this sound. The riffs are original and extremely fast and excellent. Dave Mustaine who was once on Metallica before they released Kill Em' All has one of the most unique voices in all of metal. It is no wonder MegaDeth is one of the most popular metal bands in America. What ever the song is about, Mustaine makes you feel like you're there or make you glad your not. Take for example Sweating Bullets on "Countdown to Extinction." Hello Me. Meet the Real Me. Throughout the song he talks to himself. And builds more tension till the end of the song. Everyone of MegaDeth's songs are unique. I can't tell you a time when I was bored listening to their songs. This is a group where the more you listen the more you like the song and MegaDeth. The two best albums in my opinion and in most people's are Countdown to Extinction and Rust in Peace. MegaDeth does veer away from what they are extremely talented at, and this can be a pain. Take for example Cryptic Writing. I have to admit I fucking love this cd, and the rifs are truly amazing in certain areas. The problem is I think they went to commerical I'm not saying they sold out they just made the band a little easier for everyone to listen to. But who cares they have been around 15 years and are still pumping out quality albums. "Endangered species, caged in fright Shot in cold blood, no chance to fight The stage is set, now pay the price An ego boost, don't think twice" --- Metallica eat your heart out. MegaDeth is the real thing an if you don't have one of their albums buy the new "Capitol Punishment" to hear there best hits. And pick up "Rust in Peace" for thrash metal at its best.
