Liz & Lucky #7 "The Search For Lucky" December 27, 1999 - April 7, 2000Liz returns to the studio and Jason tells her that it's time for him to leave. She asks what has changed since earlier? Has her grandmother or Nik come by. He says no that Bobbie did and she told him he should leave. Jason tells Liz that it is time for him to figure out how to live his life and that he's grateful for what she's done for him. Liz makes a speech about how being with him showed her how she wants to live her life - alone, in the studio. Well, not exactly alone, she really meant alone with him. He tells her that it's his turn to learn how to live his life. Jason leaves.Liz is at the studio sadly thing about Jason. There's a knock at the door. She thinks it's Jason, but it's Stefan. Stefan angrily addressed his concerns about Nikolas to Elizabeth, telling her he was afraid Nikolas would end up hurt. Elizabeth told Stefan that she had no need for Nikolas' interference and had told him so. Stefan told her that it may be interference to her, but it was only Nikolas caring about her. He left and Emily arrived, loaded for bear. She went off on Elizabeth for not telling her about Jason. Elizabeth tried to explain how her relationship with Jason had started and how much she needed it when she was missing Lucky so much, that Jason was her safe place. Emily was not to be calmed and yelled at her, saying that she had been walking on eggshells all year to not make her feel bad with Juan and had offered repeatedly to not kiss him if it bothered her. Elizabeth tried to make her understand that this was her deal and she was doing the best she could. Emily kept griping about it and finally, in frustration, Elizabeth told her to stop acting like an immature little brat. Emily freaked out and told Elizabeth that she saw how it was, that she was the kid sister and Elizabeth and Jason are adults. She said she guessed the four musketeers were just kid stuff too and left. Liz is at her studio working on a painting when Bobbie arrives to check on Jason. Liz explains that Jason's wound has healed, so he has returned to the penthouse. Bobbie is relieved, and suggests that now Liz can return to Audrey's, but Liz "needs to be in charge of [her] own life" and will not be returning to her grandmother's house. Bobbie warns Liz to be careful, as Jason is a dangerous man. She draws the distinction between a bad man and a dangerous man, and says that Liz should feel free to call her if she needs to. Emily arrives at the penthouse and encounters Jason at the elevator. She is very annoyed about the way she found out about Jason's supposed affair with Liz, and demands to know why no one ever tells her anything. Jason explains that there is no affair, that Nikolas was wrong in his assumptions, and then soothes Emily, who now feels like an idiot and says she owes Liz an apology. Jason and Emily exchange hugs and loves, and she leaves to go to Michael's birthday party at the Quartermaine residence. Carly meets Liz outside, and demands to know if she is on her way to Jason's to throw herself at him. Carly tells Liz once again that Jason doesn't want Liz and that she should go back to wherever she came from. Liz counters with the assertion that Jason trusts her whereas h sent Carly away. She tells Carly to back off, and walks away leaving Carly standing there silently. Jason and Liz arrive back at the studio after a motorcycle ride. As they pass by, Sorel and his man appear from their hiding place. We see that they have placed a bomb underneath Liz's table, set to go off in 15:00 minutes. Liz offers Jason some soup, but he turns her down and after wishing each other a happy New Year, Jason leaves. Liz drops her glove, and we see that the clock now reads 14:35. Jason, outside, sees Sorel's man crouching, watching Liz's building. Jason demands to know what the man is doing, and the two begin to fight. Roy appears and holds the man while Jason hits him, demanding again to know why he was looking at Liz's building, then they switch and Jason holds him while Roy hits and questions him. The man blurts out that there is a bomb under Liz's table, and they throw him aside and rush back to her studio (5:00). Jason gets Liz out of the building while Roy tries to diffuse the bomb (3:06). Outside, Jason gives Liz his coat and tries to call 911 on the cell phone, but the line is busy. Inside the studio, Roy rushes to get a tool, is uncertain as to which wire to cut, chooses one, and the bomb is diffused - with one second to spare. In the street outside the studio, Bobbie happens upon Jason and Liz. Liz explains about the bomb and Bobbie is set to rush in to try to help Roy, but just then he comes out. Bobbie runs to him, saying, "how could you risk dying on me again?" Later, Taggert, Hannah, Jason, Bobbie, Liz and Roy are all outside the studio building together, and Taggert wants to know how they knew there was a bomb inside. Roy mumbles something about a psychic flash, and gives an equally smart-aleck answer to the next question - how he knew the expert way to diffuse a bomb (he had a lot of time to read in prison). Hannah leaves, Taggert takes Roy and Jason in for questioning, and Liz goes to stay with Bobbie for a few days. New Year's Eve - " As Time Goes By" plays and we see Mike and Tammy dancing in the diner, wearing their shiny hats and sharing a kiss, AJ watching asSonny and Carly emerge from the elevator; Alan and Monica having a hug and a kiss, Edward and Lila exchanging fond looks, Emily and Juan sharing a kiss, Luke alone at his club, Laura with Stefan, Alexis pretending to be asleep as Ned comes in, then waking to kiss him, and Chloe and Jaxd ancing in the rain. Liz is at Bobbie's brownstone and Bobbie is giving her advice about loving a bad boy, and Liz admits that Jason is only a friend that she loves Lucky. Bobbie doesn't seem to get it and warns Liz against even associating with Jason. Liz says again that she likes being with Jason because he accepts her for who she is. Emily apologizes to Elizabeth and Elizabeth tells her about the bomb in her studio. She says like Emily she has "friendly" feelings for Jason and would do anything for him. Lieutenant Taggert comes in to Ruby's to warn Elizabeth again about Jason and to apologize for his behavior when they located the bomb and arrested Jason and Roy. Elizabeth admits to him she is not sleeping with Jason, Nikolas overhears this and walks out. Elizabeth is next to arrive at the penthouse. She knocks at Jason's door, but when she gets no answer, turns to Sonny's door and knocks there. He answers the door himself, and Elizabeth questions him about Jason. Sonny assures her that he is fine, just out of town on business. Elizabeth continues to fish for information, but Sonny is notforthcoming, so after she asks him to ask Jason to call her, she leaves. Juan and Emily show Elizabeth the new digs for Chloe Morgan Designs/L&B Records. Chloe comes in carrying a ton of stuff and talking on her phone. Emily and Juan wander off to do whatever it is that they do and Liz is alone with Chloe. As Chloe is going around and around with a supplier on her cell phone, the office phone rings, and Liz jumps in as the perfect receptionist. Chloe notices. Later, Ned comes in while Chloe is still on the phone and Liz hands him his messages. He is impressed that they're legible and hopes someone hired her when he wasn't looking. Chloe gets off of the phone and agrees. Liz and Chloe discuss the idea of her working as an assistant, and decide to think about it. Emily tells Ned that she's found L&B's next artist. Sonny tells Jason that Liz stopped by and was worried about him. Jason says he will check in with her. Jason drops by Kelly's and Liz runs out to see him. He tells her they can't see each other anymore and they share a big emotional scene where she tries unsuccessfully to change his mind. She's crying as she goes back into the diner and says she doesn't need "any more people in her life who are going to treat her like she's some porcelain doll that needs to be protected". Jason looks pretty upset by this as she goes. Liz drops a tub of dishes in the sink and sobs. Jason goes to the park and also looks pretty bummed as he replays his conversation with Liz in his mind. Emily comes in to Kelly's to drown her troubles with Juan in chocolate. She tells liz the story of getting Ned to listen to Juan. Liz asks her how she can get Jason to change his mind about being friends and Emily tells her she can't. Then she realizes that Juan might come there and it would look like she is waiting for him so she leaves. Gram comes to talk to Liz and Liz tells her about the bomb. Gram thinksshe's coming home, but Liz says she's going back to the studio. Gram is disappointed in her. Sorel approaches Liz himself on the docks. He convinces her to stop and talk to him with the mention of Jason's safety. Suddenly, o leave, but she refuses. So Jason lets Sorel go... but ONLY after warning him to stay away from Elizabeth. Jason scolds Liz for not listening. She tells him again that she cares for him. He takes her for a ride on his bike. Faison has escaped jail. He calls Luke and tells him he has some very important information, to meet him at the pier. Luke races to pier 39 where Faison says "You've been a worthy adversary Spencer. I'll leave you with this. Lucky, your wonderful son is alive." Suddenly shots are fired at Faison and he takes off in his little boat. Luke see's it's Mac shooting and fights with him to stop him from hurting Faison. Mac calls for search and rescue. Luke looks stunned. Mac tries to interrogate Luke about why he was there. Luke says Faison called him. He also points out that Faison was more useful alive. They argue a bit and Mac speculates that Luke was helping Faison escape. Luke storms off. Luke is flipping out in his office. Roy comes in. Luke tells him, "Ask me what I want more than anything else in life?" Luke (quite powerfully, I wish I could describe this better) explains that he would do *anything* to get his son back. He tells Roy what Faison said, but acknowledges that Faison is a good game player. Luke blames Mac for the fact that Faison didn't say more before the explosion. Luke was jus starting to believe Lucky was dead. Now he's going to Amsterdam (where this whole mess started) and retrace Faison's steps until he finds Lucky or proves he is dead. (And no, he won't tell Laura until he knows for sure.) Luke thanks Roy for taking over for him @ the club while he's gone to Amsterdam for clue's on Lucky's whereabouts. Jason meets Liz on the docks. Jason tells Liz he's leaving; Liz doesn't react well. She tells him if he's leaving to protect her, she'll hurt less if he stays. He says he doesn't want her to be afraid all the time, and that'sonly part of it, anyway. Eventually, they come to an understanding, he kisses her long and lingeringly on the forehead, tells her 'goodbye' and Liz responds, with a shaky smile, 'See ya later', and runs off. Jason looks after her, lingeringly. A montage-ish cut between Carly taking a home pregnancy test, finding out it's positive and despairing; Liz staring out over the water on the docks; and finally, finally, Jason on his motorcycle, heading out of town to a song... "Don't know where I'm going .... now that I'm gone...." Tammy and Elizabeth were working together at the diner. Liz explained her plan to return to the studio to live, and Tammy was not enthusiastic, wondering if Liz wouldn't be afraid after the bomb. Emily arrived to tell Liz about Jason's departure, but Liz clearly already knew. They commiserated over the loss of Jason, described his shining character and shared memories. They agreed that they suspected Carly was somehow involved in the decision to leave town, and Emily trashed Carly until Liz explained that she thought Jason left because of the bomb and his assumption that she would be in danger as long as he was around. Nikolas entered in time to hear Emily tell Liz that Jason's leaving was not her fault and they agreed that they would just have to learn to live with his absence. Nikolas came over to the table then and admitted that he had overheard part of their conversation. He confirmed that Jason was indeed gone and said he was sorry, as he understood that it would be hard on both Emily and Elizabeth. Nikolas explained that while he wasn't a bigJason fan, he doesn't want to see Elizabeth sad, and suggested that they take that snowboarding trip they'd been talking about. She agreed, and Nikolas left after offering her a ride in his car, which she turned down. Tammy offered to let Liz leave work to go on the ride, but she declined. Elizabeth brought Sonny some brownies, and explained that she feels responsible for driving Jason away, but Sonny disagreed. She told the story of how she and Jason met, and how he felt he had to keep his distance after the bomb scare, but Sonny said that people disappointed Jason and that Liz was probably the only friend he could count on. She shared a memory about an old family portrait of hers, and Sonny commented that "people come, people go - that's what life's about." He reminded her that he is only a phone call away and offered her a home-cooked meal any time she wanted one. She thanked him and left. Taggert finds Liz at Kelly's and told her that he'd just learned of Jason's departure. He guessed that she'd also been to Sonny's (by the presence of the brownies) and warned her thatwhile Jason was bad, Sonny was much worse. She rebuffed his advice in a friendly way. Nik and Liz are on their way to the movies when Helena meets up with them and tells them it's so good to see Nikolas smiling. Stefan comes along and Helena is pulling out all the stops, pointing out that the charges against her for killing Katherine were dropped and that Stefan had once confessed to it. She tells Nikolas that his father doesn't want him with unsuitable women, but he probably won't kill two of his girlfriends in a row (meaning Ms. Webber). Helena leaves when Nikolas makes it clear he doesn't want to be around her or discuss anything with her. Stefan and Nikolas discuss what Helena might be planning and promise to tell each other what they find out. Liz loses the bracelet Lucky gave her and Nikolas helps her find it. They talk a little more and then go to the movies. Em and Juan chat with Liz at Kelly's. Em asks Liz if she's going back to her studio.this is the first time she's going back since the bomb. She's sure she's ready. Cut to Sorrel and some other thug breaking into the studio, insisting that if there are "any clues to Jason Morgan's whereabouts, his girlfriend will have it". Em and Juan try to be sure she will be safe.and Liz tries to reassure them. Juan goes and Emgiggles and looks pretty moon-eyed about Juan. Liz comments that she seems really happy. The conversation wanders, and Em asks Liz if she regrets that Liz and Lucky never made love. Liz says if she'd known they didn't have a future, then yes, she would have. But, she assures Em that she should wait anyway. Liz goes to her studio, looks around. She sits up on the ledge and tries to read. She can't concentrate and remembers every moment with Jason from the day they met at Jakes' to his saying goodbye. Finally she gives up and leaves. Back to Kelly's, Liz tells Tammy she forgot food. The talk about things a bit: Tammy says Jason was unsafe and she's glad he left. Jason "did right by you," she tells Liz. As Liz leaves Kelly's, Sorrel and his thug catch up with her and ask if she would like to talk a walk. Sorel tried to pressure Elizabeth into going with him and she refused, saying Jason didn't even live there any more. Sorel told her that her friendship with him was common knowledge and that it would be in her best interest to tell him if she'd heard from him. Just then, Tammy burst out the door with a baseball bat and ordered them off. She told Sorel that Elizabeth was friends with Sonny and he'd come down on Sorel like the wrath of God. Sorel wisecracked at her about speaking for Sonny and Tammy told them that if they didn't get lost, she'd start swinging. They left and Liz and Tammy collapsed on each other, with Tammy telling Liz that they were NOT all right at all. Inside, Tammy told Liz that Sorel wouldn't give up and would keep hassling her. She explained that she had seen him at his worst when Moreno was in control of the town and he sent Sorel out to hassle the hookers. She said Sorel had nearly beaten her to death. Just then, Nikolas walked in and asked if it was a private conversation. Elizabeth covered by saying that she was talking to Tammy about what color to paint the studio. Nikolas offered to drive her to the paint store and she told him her shift was just starting. He let her know the offer was open and left. Tammy asked her if she was going to go talk to Sonny or just go back to the studio. Elizabeth called Sonny and found he wasn't in, so she left a message for him to call her as soon as possible. Tammy made her promise not to go back to the studio until she talked to Sonny. Elizabeth goes to Sonny tells him about her run in with Sorel, he tells her she can't go back to her studio, she would be the safest in Jason's penthouse, she refuses; go back to your grandmother's, she refuses and asks Sonny if he would accept her staying at Kelley's where she and Tammy can keep an eye on each other - he agrees and puts her under protective custody. "Your life is not going to be your own for a while". Sonny continues with its my fault if I hadn't let Jason down he wouldn't have been in the snow for you to find, which put you in danger. I'll fix it as soon as I can. Luke is back in town and he's talking over what he found, or didn't find. He went and found Faison's old house and talked to some friends, but found no concrete evidence besides his gut telling him that his son was alive. Roy suggests that Faison is just playing with him and Luke tells him that he just can't imagine his son going to sleep with candles burning, and even if he did how could he have slept through a raging inferno? The kid had survival instincts his whole life through and it doesn't make sense his dying in a fire. Roy asks if he's going to tell Laura and Luke says no. Roy tells him that Laura is stronger than she looks and Luke gets all testy and says no one knows his wife better than him. Luke is still at Kelly's hassling Sonny about what's happening to Elizabeth. He tells Sonny that that little girl will always have a piece of his son's heart and he wants her safe. He tells Liz to follow Sonny's instructions to the T. She promises she will. She sits down with a depressed looking Sonny and tells him that Luke is over-reacting. He tells her that Luke thinks he betrayed him. Liz insists that Sonny is not the betraying kind and Sonny informs her that he's stabbed many people in the back that deserved better from him. Elizabeth and Sonny talked about Francis -- Liz assured Sonny it will be awkward at first, but she is glad for the protection and will get used to it. They also remembered lost loves (Lucky and Lily). Helena has arrived at the safe house. The guard tells her Lucky has stopped trying to escape; she tells him not to let his guard down. Lucky is sleeping so she just looks through the window commenting that they will be spending time together soon enough. Helena visits Lucky with Stefen peeking through the windows. Helena tells one of her people that they did a good job with Mr. Spencer and now that she is here, they can begin. Stefen overhears all of this and realizes it is Lucky! Stefan is outside of Helena's hideout for Lucky. He peers into the window and sees Helena talking to the boy. Helena is inside telling Lucky (we don't see his face), that she understands he has cabin fever and that when she returns she will let him go outside. She thinks they will end up being friends. Helena tells her henchmen outside the hideout that she is pleased with Lucky's progress and they should keep a close eye on him until she returns and then she will let him get some fresh air. Stefan is still looking at Lucky play chess through the window. He goes to the windowpane and touches it. An alarm sounds and Lucky gets up to go look out the window. Stefan retreats and the henchmen search the perimeter. It was a false alarm and they conclude that Lucky probably touched the window and set it off. Helena returns to continue to bait Lucky while he fingers a chess piece. Liz is catching up on some schoolwork when Nikolas enters Kelly's. Can she take a break and go to the Art Institute? No, she has too much work, and her shift is about to start, but she would like a raincheck. Nik continues to press her saying it's not that busy and he is sure Bobbie wouldn't mind. Liz wants to know what is going on. Nik says he is worried because there is a guy outside. Liz says she knows and explains Francis is there on Sonny's orders. Bobbie is in the kitchen leaving a message with Leticia for Carly to call her when she wakes up. Liz is telling Nik that she is just being cautious and Nik continues to read her the riot act. He tells her this all started with Jason. Doesn't she think about her family? Liz fumes he better back off or she will regret confiding in him and never do it again. Bobbie comes up to ask how everything is and they say fine. Nik stands up to leave and says he will see her soon. Liz asks if it is a threat. Nik says it is whatever she wants it to be. Bobbie asks what that was all about and Liz says she wishes friendship came with a manual. Laura bumps into an upset Nik leaving Kelly's. He doesn't want to talk about it and leaves. Laura sits with Liz and they start talking about how people act when they have lost someone and how it changes them. Liz tells Laura she only wants Nik to love her as a friend nothing else. She loves Lucky and will never get over it or stop loving him and that is all there is to it. Liz tells Laura why Nik was concerned and Laura says she can't blame him. Juan and Emily go to Kelly's and bump into Liz. They wonder why she has a bodyguard. Emily wants to play the tape she and Juan made together for Liz and Juan is pretty upset about it.Emily is totally insensitive on this point! He reluctantly gives permission and leaves. Em goes after him. He sneaks up behind her and gives her a hug.guess he's not so mad after all. Liz plays the tape, smiles, and says she's impressed. Sonny comes in behind her, and she says she promised not to let anyone hear it.but he convinces her to let him listen. He smiles as he realizes who is singing on it. Juan and Emily come back into Kelly's and catch Sonny listening to thetape. Sonny is actually quite encouraging. Juan worries that people will think he's cashing in on Miguel's success, but Sonny tells him his mother would be proud. Juan looks like he's starting to consider the idea. Juan and Emily offer to share their pizza with Sonny. Juan says it's great that Sonny's keeping an eye on Liz. Emily spoke with Liz about writing a school paper on Mary Mae Ward and then enlisted her friends help to sneak out before being noticed by Taggert, whom she hasn't encountered since he caught her and Juan in a compromising situation. Helana on the phone in a bit of a "tiff" because Lucky has tripped the alarm. She orders the security on "Young Mr. Spencer" be doubled, and indicated that she may be suspicious of an intruder on the premises. Stefan shows up on Laura's doorstep and tells her his trip was "extremely productive." As Laura goes to tend to LuLu, Stefan stares painfully at a picture of Lucky, as he presumably is conflicted over whether he should share his news about Lucky. Laura returns from upstairs and they then discuss her "dead" son. Stefan comforts her, but doesn't say a word about knowing that Lucky is alive. Luke and Felicia in Greece, preparing to storm Cassadine Island. Felicia questions Luke about how they are going to avoid the guards on the island and he assures her that everything will be okay, as he HAS done this sort of thing before. They go over the plans for the evening on Cassadine island. Mac goes to visit Liz at Kelly's and tries to persuade her into filing a complaint against Sorel. Mac tells her it was Nik who told him about her trouble which leads to a big fight between the two later. Helana, who is again on the phone and requests that she recieve the latest tapes of Lucky and 'they" may have to "Move more quickly than planned." Sonny asksLiz if she's okay. She tells him yes and they start talking about Lucky. Audrey walks in and snaps at Sonny telling him to leave Liz alone she orders him to leave. Audrey then begs Liz to stay away from him - he's no Liz and Emily talk about Lucky and when Juan comes by and tells Emily he just got them tickets to the Valentine Dance, Emily and Liz exchange looks. Sonny returns to Kelly's and tells Liz that he would never let anyone hurt her. On Valentine's Day, Liz goes to the church where she and Lucky said their vows to each other...and she lights candles as she remembers what they shared. On Cassidine Island in Greece, Luke & Felicia overhear Stefan telling one of his hired goons that everything has to go as planned, etc. Later they managed to sneak into an office inside the Cassidine compound, where they found detailed phone bills and a recent picture of Lucky. From the phone records, Luke determined that Lucky must be in Libya. It was a pretty powerful moment when he wanted to leave the office with the picture of Lucky but Felicia reminded him they couldn't take it with them; in response, a stunned but elated Luke responded that his son is alive. Emily goes to tell Liz about Carly being pregnant and that was why Jason left. Felicia and Luke break into the place where Faison held Lucky. Luke grabs a t-shirt and says "we're too late", but he "can feel him". Luke and Felicia go over what Stefan is doing with Lucky. Luke can't figure out what Stefan gets by kidnapping his son. Luke says they have to make sure that Stefan doesn't realize they are on to him. Luke wonders if Stefan did it so that Nicholas had more attention and power from Laura. Luke and Felicia head off to Switzerland. Taggart goes to Kelly's to ask Liz about her meeting with Sorel. Stefan spills the beans to Alexis. She wants him to tell Laura about everything. He wants her to deal with the legal aspects of putting Helena in prison. Luke couldn't figure out the maze of money transfers from Stefan's account, so he called Laura and asked if she knew of any trips Stefan had just taken or was about to take. She reluctantly told him about Nova Scotia, giving him the key to Lucky's whereabouts. Lucky may not be there much longer, though -- Helena expressed her dismay over Stefan's confidence and wondered to Andreas if perhaps Stefan knows about Lucky. She hinted that a change may be necessary. Liz comes over and asks Laura how Lulu's Valentine's party was. Laura says all the little girls had a great time with their dolls and gloves. Laura asks, what Liz ended up doing. She says that she went to the church where she and Lucky made their Valentine's promises. She tells Laura that she understands what she meant by learning to let go of the grief, but not her memories. Emily walks in as Laura is on her way out. She sits at the counter and tells Liz her total dismay over her family and Carly's situation. She blurts out to Liz that she can't believe Carly is pregnant with Sonny's child just as Hannah walks in. Hannah is stunned and says, "What did you just say?" She tells them it can't be, that Carly is fabricating the whole story and if she is going around spreading rumors about Sonny, Hannah needs to know about it. Emily tells Hannah to ask Sonny herself. Hannah storms out as Tammy walks in and gets no response to her hello from Hannah. Tammy asks what's up and Emily and Liz tell her about the new baby. Tammy says she is surprised. Liz tells Emily she thinks they should be a little nicer to Carly next time for the baby's sake. She tells Emily that that is what Jason would do. Luke and Felicia continue their quest for Lucky. A caretaker confronts them and they press him for details. A group of seven men just left.one of them matched a super-generic description of Lucky. They tell the man the boy is Luke's son, and the guy tells them he overheard them saying they were taking him "almost home". Luke gives the guy some cash and his numbers. Liz walks into L&B looking for J. and Em. As she talks with Chloe, the phone start ringing. After 4 rings, Chloe decides to answer it. Whoever is on the line wants to know the # for a dress Chloe designed for the Oscars. Liz finds the drawing and reads it to her. Chloe again offers Liz a job as her assistant; Liz accepts. Juan and em return saying they just saw Liz saying something about working there. Jaun and Em talk more about how maybe he should use his talent. He seems to really be considering it. Felicia & Luke are on Helena's yacht looking for anything that might lead them to where Lucky is now. They duck behind the bar when Andreas comes in. Felicia peers around the bar and is shocked to see "Ari". Luke explains that they're twins and something about "Helena getting a discount if she gets her boy-toys in pairs". Stephan comes on board asking Andreas where Helena is holding Lucky now. He tries to avoid giving a direct answer but Stephan says threatens him by saying it would only take a look from me to plant a seed of doubt in Helenas' mind. And we both know how she deals with traitors. Andreas then spills the beans; that she rented a cabin a short distance away near Spring Lake. Having gotten what he came for Stephan leaves. Andreas also leaves after a call from Helena. Fluke decide to go to Spring Lake before anyone else can get there. Aat L&B, where Liz is arriving presumably for her first day of work, she's getting down to the grind of answering phones when Nik strolls in and smiles, thinking she's there to gaze upon the glory that is him. Luckily, she soon sets him straight and explains about the job. There's smiles all around. Liz and Chloe have been designing by dictation...and Jax, who has returned is impressed. He sends Liz a subliminal message to leave them alone, so she exits Liz getting off the elevator at the hospital. Liz brings her gram up to speed on the new job, and Audrey, in a last-ditch attempt to get her granddaughter back under her roof, tells her that she's realized that Liz *is* an adult, and *should* be able to make her own decisions. Liz and Laura have another heart to heart about Lucky. At almost the same time, Luke & Felicia are shocked/amazed to see that Lucky is alive. No sooner than they see him but Stefan arrives and whisks him off. Elizabeth came entered L&B and congratulated Emily for encouraging Juan in his singing, saying if it hadn't been for Lucky's persistence, she would have left her paintbrushes a long time ago. Nikolas agreed that Juan had talent and said he would help him.and take a big breath and think of Elizabeth when Juan got smart with him. Luke comes by to see Laura (he has lost the trail and returned to PC) and he says that he's got something he's been wanting to tell her... she thinks it has to do with Felicia and she's devastated before hearing it... but it's about Lucky. OH! the hopeful joy on Laura's face! Laura was dumbfounded, then jubilant as Luke explained to her that Lucky was alive! He had seen him in the flesh! After she had settled down, he was forced to admit that there was bad news.Stefan had him. Laura did not believe him at first, but Luke insisted he had seen Stefan take Lucky. She wondered why he would do that and Luke said it was because he was a Cassadine and would do anything to hurt them. He reminded her that this was the same man who had held her mother captive for all those years. As they were talking, Nikolas came in and said Stefan had told him to meet them there. Luke asked him if he knew Lucky was alive and he was astonished. Luke soon saw that Nikolas had no clue about Lucky. Nikolas was shocked when Luke revealed that Stefan had Lucky and Luke had seen them together with his own eyes. Laura said she wanted to speak to Stefan alone, so the two left. When he arrive, he said he had something important to tell Laura and that she'd better sit down. She insisted she was fine and he again said he wanted to tell her something very important. "That Lucky is alive?" she asked. He looked surprised and asked how she knew. She told him that Luke had told her, that Luke had seen Lucky. She demanded to know where her son was and when he honestly said he didn't know, she hauled back and slapped him. Helena & Lucky in her limo. She gives Lucky a cell phone and encourages him to call Luke. Luke gets a phone call from Lucky. Lucky doesn't say anything and hangs up. They are heading towards the interstate. Helena tells him that Port Charles will always be there if he wants to return one day. Lucky asks if he will be allowed to make that decision and Helena tells him that it is still undecided. Luke tells Roy that Lucky is aliveand he has seen his son not more than feet away, but that Stefan kidnapped him before he had a chance to. Stefan tries to explain his actions regarding Lucky to Laura who doesn't believe what he says and thinks Stefan was just using Lucky to make himself look good. She eventually kicks him out of her house. Laura came to Luke's office and told him what had happened with Stefan. She tearfully apologized for not believing him about Stefan's Cassadine-ish ways and he forgave her and gave her a big hug. She let him know that she was going with him when he went to look for Lucky and he readily accepted her offer. He told her that he felt Lucky was near and wanted to check out a few things locally before they left. She asked if maybe Mac would be a good asset to bring on board with his connections to Interpol and such and Luke balked. Nik gently tells Liz her that Lucky was alive and she responded angrily, asking him why he was doing this to her. She was is extremely denial and sent him away. After he left, she went to a box, pulled out a satin pouch and tearfully held the subway token on a chain that had been on Lucky's neck the night he died. Emily came into the diner, laughing and joking, but quickly sobered when she saw Elizabeth's face. She asked what was wrong and Elizabeth told her that Lucky could be alive. Emily was exuberant, but couldn't understand why Liz didn't share her excitement. Elizabeth explained that she wasn't ready for this. She had grieved Lucky for a year and couldn't let herself invest in the possibility that he could be alive, only to be disappointed again. Emily insisted that she must go and talk to Laura and Luke herself and find out what they know. Liz left a message for Laura to call her. Nikolas came in to check on Liz and she told him that she had told Emily. He asked if she had told him that Lucky was alive or that Nikolas was delusional. He assured him that she didn't think he made this up. They agreed that this was hard for both of them and Nikolas offered to find Helena and see what she knows. Liz was sure Helena would tell him nothing, but Nikolas insisted that Helena was always trying to get close to him and that given the opportunity, she might take it. On her private jet, Helena tells Lucky that she knows he must be curious about where they are going and cryptically told him that their destination was significant not only to him, but to his parents as well. Elizabeth goes to see Laura. She spied the carpetbag and guessed that Laura was going off to hunt for Lucky. Leslie went off to do some shopping while Elizabeth and Laura discussed the risks in believing that Lucky may still be alive. Elizabeth admitted that she is afraid to take that risk, and Laura understood but explained that as Lucky'smother she had no choice. Elizabeth volunteered to go along on the search, but Laura refused, asking her instead to spend time with Lulu, and they agreed that neither of them can go on with their lives until the matter is settled one way or the other. Helena told Lucky how the yacht they are currently on used to belong toher husband Mikos before he was killed and the Spencers got it as their reward. She condemned Luke and Laura for allowing the yacht to fall into disrepair, then went on to discuss the Spencer character, branding Luke as vain and careless and Laura as weak and indecisive. She was telling Lucky that Luke and Laura don't value things or one another when he interrupted, asking why she'd brought him there. She pointed out that "you know the rules". They went on to play chess, and when Lucky won he reminded her that the rules allow him, as a reward for a checkmate, to get an answer to one question. His question remained: why had she brought him there? Helena explained that she had brought him there to teach him about his life the way it really is, to overcome the damage done by his parents, to show him the person that he really is and take him to see the places that shaped his life. She said that once he knows the truth, he would never see his life the same way again. Elizabeth went to Lucky's boxcar and found Nikolas already there. They talked about where Lucky might be and the risk in believing that he might still be alive. She confided that she'd had the fire dream again, and started to cry as she admitted that she couldn't stand to lose Lucky a second time. Luke arrived at Laura's house and told her that the police had located Helena's yacht. Even though the yacht was deserted, they viewed it as a start and smiled in anticipation of their adventure and the joy on Lulu's face when they bring Lucky home. Laura asked when they were going to leave, and Luke told her that they would leave right away, to start packing. She pointed to the carpet bag, and Luke declared that he had one more thing to do and rushed out, promising to be right back. Luke & Laura hit the road. Laura and Luke are at a bar talking to Raoul, the man they sold the yacht to. they did find out that theyacht is somewhere in the Indian Ocean.. off they go in search of Lucky. Lucky and Helena play chess, "a win for a question." Lucky loses the first round and he must tell Helena why he moved out of the house at such a young age.... The second time around, he wins and he asks when he can return to Port Charles... Luke and Laura got to Reunion Island and boarded the Haunted Star only to discover everyone left less than 2 hours ago according to the log entry. They looked for clues but came up empty handed at first. Laura told Luke that she thinks Helena has them on wild goose chase looking fortheir dead son. Later, Laura discovers a handwritten map with directions to the box car in PC. The writing is Lucky's. Just then Stefan shows up and wants to talk to Laura. Luke held his gun on Stefan as Stefan said again that he only wants to help them find Lucky. Stefan argued that they need his help since he is able to track Helena, and refused to leave when his help was turned down. Luke aimed the gun at him and said that the only way he could stop Stefan would be to shoot him, but as that might upset Laura, he'd settle for slowing him down a little. The gun went off, no damage, and Luke locked Stefan in the closet. Luke proposed that he and Laura go over the yacht one more time and then leave, and all the while Stefan was in the background calling Laura to let him out. Laura was unsure, but agreed to leave with Luke. She came back alone a minute later, and Stefan talked to her through the door, reminding her of how he rescued her from the train tracks, he knows her pain, he loves her, how could she doubt him? Laura wavered, and Luke arrived to ask whether she was just checking to see if Stefan were locked up tight or if she were about to make a big mistake? She explained that she didn't trust Stefan, but didn't want to hurt him. She planned to call the authorities to let him out as soon as she and Luke were safely away. Luke replied that he hoped she had a cell phone, as he was not going to stop to make any calls, and, naturally, she had one. They left with Stefan still entreating Laura not to leave him in there. Luke held a gun on Stefan as he begged them to let him help find Lucky. Luke forced him into a closet and locked him inside. As he beat on the door, he begged Laura to help him. She glanced quickly at Luke and they both headed out the door. When she returned for her bag, Stefan told her he knew she was there, that he could feel her. She started to move toward the door and Luke returned, asking her if she was checking to make sure it was nice and secure or making a big mistake. She left with him again. Later, Stefan was able to find a knife in the closet, which he used to jimmy the door of the closet open. Luke and Laura are at the airport and they find out that Helena has taken Lucky to Argentina. They do all they can to get there. There is a cute, humorous way about them. Luke is caught on board the private jet and almost taken into police custody when Laura jumps in to save the day. Helena tells Lucky about her beloved Mikos' weather plan and how he had hoped to revolutionize the world until Luke and Laura dashed all his dreams by killing him in cold blood. Lucky takes all this in. At the diner, Tammy wondered why Elizabeth was working so frantically, and Elizabeth explained that she had to keep her mind off Lucky -her nerves are frayed, she can't stop thinking about him, it's hard for her to think positively. Tammy advised her to just remember the good times, be grateful for the time they had together and not get ahead of herself wondering about his return. Mike entered with flowers, and Tammy left to change for their date. Mike sat down with Elizabeth and told her that life is full of surprises and advised her to hold on, as love can come more than once. Liz went to put the flowers in water and agreed to lock up as Mike and Tammy happily left for their date. Felicia saw Andreas and Mrs. Lansbury meet on the docks. She hid and eavesdropped on their conversation. Andreas explained to Mrs. Lansbury that Helena wanted to know what Stefan was up to, and admitted that she planned to lure Luke and Laura to Ice Princess Island and trap them there. Mrs.Lansbury wanted no part of that, and told Andreas that if Mrs. Cassadine wants to speak to her she will have to contact her personally. She was on her way home when Elizabeth came by. Elizabeth expressed all her fears about Lucky, and Felicia did her best to reassure her that it had indeed been Lucky she had seen. Felicia advised Elizabeth not to jump to conclusions about why the rescue was taking so long and told her to call if she needed to. Elizabeth went off to the studio to be alone. After treking wearily through the jungle at Ice Princess island, L&L decide to set up camp for the night. Over a fire and marshmellows, they reminisce, talk about the people they were and the people they are. Laura talks about still wanting, at times, to be that 'girl in the sarong'. They talk about Robert, and laugh a lot, smile a lot. They hear a noise in the bushes; Luke attacks the person who springs out of them and wrestles her to the ground. Luke stops Laura from clubbing Felicia over the head. When she catches her breath, Felicia tells them that Helena is setting up a trap. Laura responds coolly, "Yes, we are prepared for that." Helena offers Lucky a chance to leave if he wins their chessmatch. He hesitates, asking whether they've seen everything they came to see. She says the room (the weather machine room) has lost it's charm. He then asks if they leave, will they be going to Port Charles? Lucky is getting annoyed with Helena and her mind games and lets her know. He asks what she wants from him. Her answer: "The pleasure of her company, a little while longer." Back to the campsite, Luke is trying to figure out exactly what Felicia heard. She said she couldn't stand by and let them walk into a trap. She says to consider her another pair of eyes and ears, but Luke and Laura are looking a little hesitant about that idea. She reminds them she's handy in a crisis, and Laura looks peeved as Luke vouches for her. Luke heads down the path, while Laura and Felicia both gesture "after you". Felicia ends up going first. Lucky beats Helena at chess, and he asks why she enjoys watching him win so much. She says she likes to watch his creative mind at work. He is amused; his parents havecreative minds. Helena's phone rings and she tells Lucky, "It's time." Our trio of hikers are lost in the woods, looking for the entrance. Luke found a door, but it's sealed. Laura asks how they opened it the last time. It was Robert's job. Felicia finds the code panel, and they are trying to guess thepassword, all sorts of names, ice princess, etc. Turns out it's 10/23: Mikos and Helena's anniversary. They start to go through the door, and Felicia points out that someone should stand guard. Luke and Laura quickly decide it will be Felicia. Luke and Laura enter a large chamber (it's where Helena and Lucky were). She's certain Lucky was in that room, she feels him. Laura wonders aloud why Helena has brought them there. He wants to look for clues. Meanwhile, Felicia is pacing outside and hears a helicopter. Back inside, Luke and Laura realize there's nothing in there. Felicia comes in and tells them she saw a helicopter and they all run off. Luke wonders if the helicopter was a decoy. Felicia tries to make suggestions, and Laura tries to tell her to stay out of it. Tearfully, Felicia says she can't go home without "your baby", her marriage depends on it. Luke quietly suggest they accept Laura's help. Laura goes out for some fresh air, and the door closes and seals behind her. Back at Kelly's,Liz & Bobbie get into some heavy-duty Lucky conjecture, after which Bobbie heads out. And who should she Liz and Emily at L&B, as Liz worries about whether Lucky will still want her when he returns. Em assures her that nothing will change between them that Lucky loves her. Em and Liz continue to talk about Juan and his singing. Em is feeling insecure about the female attention he will receive. Laura tired to release the door with no luck and was startled to hear a noise behind her. She hurried to hide behind a wall, only to find herself looking down the barrel of Stefan's gun. She told him what was happening and was ecstatic when he said he knew how to release the door. Her joy was abruptly disarmed when he refused to do so unless she left with him. When she refused, he left her. Laura was able to get in touch with the coast guard, but a storm was keeping them from being able to get to the island. Later, around a fire, she heard a noise. Thinking Stefan had returned, she was cautious, but was overjoyed to see Luke emerge from the brush. They hugged joyfully, while Felicia looked on, forlorn. They tried to rationalize where Helena would go next on the history tour and Laura realized it would be Texas, where Lucky was born. They set out immediately. At L&B, Nikolas tried to reassure Elizabeth that Luke and Laura were fine and had been on adventures like this many times. Ned told them good-bye and thanked them for their hard work. Nikolas reminded themhim that Eddie Maine could bail them out and Ned said Eddie had left the building years ago. After he left, Em broke the news to Juan about L&B not being able to back his career yet. He was very gallant about it and said he was no worse off than before. Later, Elizabeth asked Emily if perhaps her family would be willing to help Juan. Emily said they were too far over the edge with AJ, then Elizabeth suggested Sonny, to which Emily gave an enthusiastic veto. At the diner, Tammy and Elizabeth talked about Sorel, and Elizabeth said she didn't think she needed Francis to be her bodyguard any longer. She decided to go over and see Sonny to discuss the situation with him. His bodyguard is expecting her and tells her Sonny will be right back and asked that she wait inside. Carly returns to the penthouse where she found Elizabeth sitting in the gift rocking chair, waiting for Sonny. Carly ordered Elizabeth to leave, but she refused, and they argued about Carly using the baby to get to Sonny and about Jason's departure. Carly accused Elizabeth of wanting Sonny for herself, and when Elizabeth countered that Carly could at least have waited for Jason to leave before sleeping with his best friend, Carly slapped her. Naturally, Sonny walked in the door just in time to see this, and apologized to Elizabeth for the unpleasantness. He told Carly she was not to raise her voice to Elizabeth and to treat her with respect; when Carly asked when the mother of his child would be treated with respect, he replied that she would get it when she earned it. Sonny escorted Elizabeth to the elevator, and they agreed that Francis' services were no longer needed. In Texas, Laura's recalls fond memories of Lucky as a baby during their years in Texas (no flashbacks, she just hear the voices of her family). She reminded Luke of their happiness then. She also shared her concern that they had yet to find any clues of Helena or Lucky having been there. Well, she needn't have worried, because Lucky was busy carving his name into a boulder where Luke had carved his and Laura's initials many years before. He also tossed a note into a bush, telling an observant Helena that he's just playing her game of leaving clues for his father. Near the show's end, Helena told Lucky that they had one more stop and then he'd be on his own. Laura's increasing anxiety over Lucky led her to verbally attack Felicia for still being with her and Luke. She made it clear that Felicia's help was not needed. Felicia objected to Laura's dismissal and refused to leave, saying she had jeopardized too much to leave before Lucky was found. Laura accused Felicia of using Lucky as an excuse to be with Luke and referred to Flea as "my husband's new girlfriend." Felicia jumped on that remark and vigorously pointed out that Laura seemed to use the term "husband" when she felt like it. She reminded her that Laura wasn't there to support Luke last year when Lucky "died." Laura actually stated that she and Luke may or may not get back together. Luke then arrived to find the women arguing. Felicia appealed to him to let her stay, to which he readily agreed over Laura's objections. Flea then went down to the picnic site where Lucky and Helena had visited earlier that day. She found the fresh carving of the name "Lucky" and then spotted the note in the bush. In her attempt to retrieve it, however, she ended up losing her footing and sliding down the side of a boulder. At the show's end, she was hanging by her fingertips to the boulder's side, calling for Luke to help her. Helena & Lucky riding in the limo. She asks him what he's thinking and he denies thinking anything. He states that with so many sites to visit and too quickly, he feels overstimulated to the point that the purpose of the trip is lost on him. Helena doubts this and asks him to name his favorite spot. He tells her that it's Texas which has nothing to do with her, or the Cassadines or even his parents, but where he feels the most at home. She hands him a large box with a picture of Elizabeth and what she tells him are updates of his family and friends. He refuses to read it,opting to find out for himself. Over to the literal cliffhanger with Felicia hanging on for dear life, we find Laura attempting to help her. Luke shows up just in time to help. Luke and Laura manage together to rescue Felicia and they decide that Luke & Laura will go to Marakesh, the next stop on the trip, while Felicia will jump ahead and go to Ireland. While asleep on the plane, Felicia places her hand on Luke's, much to Laura's dismay. Meanwhile, Helena tells Lucky that they are almost to their last stop. Emily & Liz have a sleep over at the Q's, while talking about how they would like their first time to be & taking a quiz in a magazine to see if they are ready for sex, a drunken AJ gets home and the arguing begin. While Helena is on a phone call, Lucky notices that her purse is lying open on the table, he preceeds to take money out of it while she isn't looking. Later on that evening when she goes to bed Lucky goes into his suitcase pulls out a sock that he has stashed money & jewelry in..... Luke and Laura in Marrakesh, discouraged over their lack of success in tracking Lucky. Laura suggested that Helena underestimated the "power of us" and that maybe they had, too, but before Luke could comment, the phone rang and it was Felicia, calling from Ireland. He told her to stay there for a while and promised to be in touch, but when he hung up, Laura's tone was cold as she asked,"Where do we look next, or do we have to wait for Felicia?" Luke was not interested in discussing the Felicia situation, but Laura pressed, insisting "This is our trip, not Felicia's, and I don't see how she's helping us". Later, they made up andagreed that they didn't want to fight. Laura admitted that she missed Luke, and started to cry as he held her. They shared memories of Irelandand Marrakesh, and agreed that they missed the feeling that they could do anything together. They agreed sadly that they couldn't go back, that they weren't now the same people they had been then. They talked about how exciting it had been to be all over the globe, but remembered also the fear and running away in the night. Luke had something he needed to tell Laura: the happiest he'd been in his whole life was when he'd been with her, and she tearfully agreed, tenderly stroking his face until, again, the phone rang. Felicia, of course. She asked Luke where they'd lived the longest, and he relayed the question to Laura, whosuddenly realized that the real question was where they'd been the happiest - the Triple L Diner in Vancouver. Luke excitedly instructed Felicia to hop on a plane and meet them in British Columbia. This was enough for Laura, who turned and stomped off to the bedroom, slamming the door behind her. Helena and Lucky had already arrived at the Triple L and ordered breakfast. Lucky was anxious to be off to Port Charles, but Helena explained that this was their last stop together and suggested that they take a walk around town to see where he used to live. After the walking tour they went back to the diner where Helena commented that the stability of living there must have been a relief for young Lucky after all the travel. She said that she appreciated his company on the tour, but guessed that he was anxious to leave, and handed him $500. He questioned her, and she told him to add it to the amount he'd "appropriated" from her already, then added that he could keep the jewelry, too. He was suitably abashed. Helena then said he was clever and independent, qualities that would stand him in good stead. She told him he was then on his own, and announced that she was leaving. Lucky was confused, and said he thought they were going to Port Charles, but Helena pointed out that PC would still be there, although, she suggested, he might want to wait for his parents to arrive in Vancouver before he moved on. She commented "It's all up to you" and left the diner, leaving Lucky on his own. Lucky is at the Triple L diner and talking to the waitress. He orders breakfast. Helena is looking on from outside as Lucky tells the waitress he is there to meet his parents. After the waitress serves him breakfast she begins messing with the register. It is stuck. Lucky tells her what to do to unstick it. She wants to know how he knows that. He tells her his parents owned the place and that his father bought the register second-hand. He also tells her he is one of the "L's" in the Triple L. The waitress introduces herself to Lucky and tells him her name is Katie. Helena is still looking on from outside and walks away. As Lucky and Katie get better acquainted Lucky spots Stefan outside the diner and asks Katie to hide him. She hides him behind the counter. When Stefan comes in and asks her about a boy fitting Lucky's description, she lies and tells him she hasn't seen him. Stefan leaves and Katie tells Lucky the coast is clear. He won't explain why Stefan is after him, but tells her that he didn't do anything illegal. As Lucky looks out the window Katie wants to know why someone is after him. She tells him that she would help him. Although they hardly know each other she feels like she can trust him and would help. He says he would do the same. He says he wishes he could thank her. The movies would be nice. He tells her he can't because he won't be there long. She says she will take a raincheck for when he comes back to town. Liz is at Kelly's as Emily walks in. Em wants to know why Liz seems so freaked. Liz explains that every time the door opens she thinks it might be Lucky walking in. He has been a prisoner for a year and Liz wonders if they have changed him. What if they aren't connected anymore? Em reassures her pal that the minute Lucky walks in and sees her they willboth remember how much in love they are. Liz and Emily continue to discuss the future when Lucky comes home. Emily says that they will have to all hang out and how much fun they will have. She hopes that Lucky will like Juan. They comment on how much the two guys have in common. Just then Juan walks up and tells Emily that he won't cut a demo until he is 50 at the rate he is going. Juan explains to Em and Liz that money is a real obstacle. Helena is on her jet preparing to leave. She calls to Andreas to bring her the champagne and tell the pilot she is ready to leave. Stefan comes up behind her and starts to choke her. He wants to know why she is celebrating and what does it have to do with Lucky Spencer? **The End** |
