Jason & Sam #38 May 16 - August 27, 2018: 8 hour original edit
DVD #38A 5/16 The Nurses Ball begins - The red carpet coverage of the Nurses Ball began as Nick Viall announced it on camera.
Sonny and Jason entered Sonny's house, and Jason related that he was going to meet Spinelli to ask for help with Carly's case. He promised Sonny that everything would be all right, but Sonny feared that Carly was "breaking down." Jason believed Nelle was lying because Carly would never jeopardize her grandchild's life, but Sonny didn't agree. Jason had to meet Spinelli, so he left.
Jason entered the Metro Court and found Spinelli, who promised to spend the next day helping Carly. Jason instructed Spinelli to examine all of Carly's claims in order to figure out how Nelle had set her up.
There was a knock on the door, and Robin was ecstatic to open it to Jason. Robin told him that Emma had had a great time in Switzerland with him and Anna. Jason related that Anna seemed to be "fixated" on finding Henrik, so he advised Robin to stay close to Anna. A few minutes later, Anna emerged, dressed for the ball.
Jason relayed the message that Robin would meet Anna downstairs. Anna informed him that she was still waiting to hear back from Henrik, and she promised to let him know when she heard back. He told her that he didn't want her to walk alone into a trap, so he wanted to "stick to the plan" and work together like they'd agreed.
Sam stood outside Peter's office but scurried away when she heard approaching footsteps. Next, Sam arrived at the Nurse’s Ball and walked down the red carpet. She shared with the red carpet hosts that she was excited for her mother, who was receiving the Pioneer Award.
Spinelli took some drinks to Sam and Maxie, and Spinelli suggested that Maxie get off her feet. He pulled her away to find somewhere for her to sit. Sam thanked Peter for escorting Maxie to the ball, and Peter insisted that the two were helping each other out.
Sam went into the ballroom to get some space, and she caught sight of Jason running by. He told her that she looked beautiful, and she sadly assumed that Jason wouldn't be attending the ball. He reasoned that he'd sent a donation. He revealed that he was using the ball as a cover to do more digging into Henrik. Sam admitted that she was doing a little digging that night, as well. They wished each other luck, and he left.
5/17 The Nurses Ball begins as Lucy was introduced, and as the Mistress of Ceremonies, she in turn introduced the first act. The nurses of General Hospital performed "Everyday People" in colorful scrubs. Felix, Bobbie, Epiphany, Amy, and Deanna were among the group of singers and dancers. The audience applauded enthusiastically.
Sam exchanged pleasantries with Maxie, who was with Peter. Maxie looked around for Jason, but Sam explained that Jason was involved in something else. Nina walked over and asked Maxie to take care of some business for Crimson. Peter had a call to make, and Sam wanted a drink.
Peter found Valentin speaking in French to someone on the phone and ordered him to hang up. Peter accused Valentin of knowing about Anna setting him up. As Sam ventured as close as she could to eavesdrop, Peter told Valentin off and shouted that it would be Valentin's fault if Peter were to be exposed. Sam continued to linger and pretended to be on her own phone. She was startled when Alexis walked over but claimed she was nervous for her mother accepting the Pioneer Award.
"Let's see what you're hiding," Sam said as she let herself into Peter's office at Aurora. She thought back to a conversation with Curtis when he'd said that there was a problem with Peter's background check. The background had been missing. Sam searched every nook and cranny in the office but found nothing. She made her way to Peter's desk and began to lift papers. Faison's lighter sat in full view. As she searched, the office door began to open, and she hid herself.
The janitor walked into the office, and Sam showed herself. She noted that Peter was attending the ball, and the janitor asked why she wasn't there herself. Sam stated that as the boss, she had work to do, and she was there for a file. She suggested the janitor return later, and she got back to the papers on the desk. Suddenly, she spied the lighter and recalled that Peter had just mentioned that he'd never smoked. She looked at the lighter closely and saw the initials CF. She realized that it had belonged to Caesar Faison.
5/18 In Peter's office, Sam played with the cigarette lighter that she had picked up from Peter's desk. She remembered Jason stating that Faison's lighter had been missing from his belongings in the hospital. She looked at the initials CF on the lighter. "Find the lighter, find Henrik," Sam said. She picked up the book by Sinclair and paged through to the end. Everything was turning out to be the same as the book.
Jason stopped by Nelle's hospital room and found Michael by Nelle's side. Michael rose and headed out to the hallway to hear what Jason had to tell him. Jason advised Michael that Carly had not pushed Nelle down the stairs, and he believed that Michael had known that. Michael accused Jason of always defending Carly and reminded Jason that he hadn't been at the party. Jason replied that Michael hadn't been there, either, but Michael repeated the chain of events that Nelle had described.
Jason insisted that Nelle had been lying because Carly would never have risked hurting the baby. He told Michael about all the incidents that Carly had suffered through, and he would prove that Nelle had been behind all of them. He also believed that the blanket had existed, and he would find it. Jason received a phone call and asked the caller to hold on. He warned Michael to be careful, and Michael agreed that he had "a lot to think about." Jason got back to his call. It was Sam, and she needed to see him.
Jason found Sam at the Metro Court, and she showed him the lighter that she'd found in Peter's office. She asked if it had belonged to Faison because she had recalled Peter visiting with Faison in the hospital the night of Faison's death. She added that events were turning out like in P.K. Sinclair's book. Jason couldn't believe that Faison had told him the truth for a change. He had said that Henrik would be "hiding in plain sight."
"Henrik Faison is Peter August," Jason exclaimed. He wondered why Sam had been in Peter's office, and Sam stated that she had been working on a case. Jason assumed correctly that that was why Sam had decided to stay on at Aurora. She told him that Maxie was with Peter for the evening, and Jason noted that they would have to be careful or someone would get hurt.
Jason headed to the ball and asked Robin about Anna's whereabouts. She didn't know. Sam advised Jason that Maxie had left with Peter, and Jason thought it would be important for them to try to get into Peter's email for more information.
Sam and Jason rushed into Peter's office while Jason tried to reach Spinelli on the phone. He was unsuccessful and suggested that Sam had probably learned all she needed to know in order to hack into Peter's email herself. Jason explained that they didn't have time to wait for Spinelli to get back to them.
5/21 Spinelli sat down at Peter's computer and wondered what he was supposed to be looking for. Jason shared a knowing look with Sam and admitted that he wanted proof that Peter was Henrik. A shocked Spinelli began typing and quickly got into Peter's inbox. He read the emails that were supposedly from Henrik's mother, and Jason realized that Anna had cut him out of her communications.
5/22 Spinelli and Sam were at General Hospital in order to hack into a computer to find Maxie's room. "I feel the wrath of Epiphany," Spinelli confided. Sam reminded him that they only needed the room number. Just then, a robed Maxie wandered down the hall and fell into their arms. Spinelli didn't want Sam to risk her life and firmly told Sam that Jason could take care of himself. After Sam threatened to use the "Vulcan neck pinch," Spinelli relented. Sam got on the elevator.
Anna and Henrik faced each other on the pier. Henrik had his gun drawn, and he accused Anna of setting a trap to "flush" him out. He held his gun on her and told her to say hello to his father. Jason sneaked up behind Henrik and pointed his own gun. "Tell him yourself," Jason snapped. He knocked Henrik on the back of the head, and Henrik fell to his knees. Jason explained that Spinelli had hacked Peter's email, and Sam had had the lighter belonging to Faison. They had realized that Peter was Henrik.
Anna asked Jason to lower his gun. "I don't think so," Jason replied. Anna reminded Jason that Henrik was unarmed after falling, but Jason was unmoved. He and Anna went back and forth over who would take control of Henrik. Suddenly, Anna pulled a gun on Jason. She threatened to shoot unless he allowed Henrik to go. She was teary as she told Henrik, "I am your real mother."
Henrik didn't believe it and suggested that he was being "played." After thinking it through, Jason admitted that it made sense. Anna insisted that she hadn't been able to tell anyone, and she wanted Jason to let Henrik go because he was her son. She wanted to prove to a disbelieving Henrik that she had told the truth, and she began to spout off various facts about Henrik's life. She told him his birthdate and birth location and cited the fact that he'd been given to a loving couple. She mentioned the Huntington's disease.
The tears rolled down Henrik's face. Finn arrived as Anna recited the facts to Henrik. She admitted that she'd lied to everyone, and she couldn't do it any longer. Jason understood but didn't think that Anna could save Henrik. She asked how Jason would feel if she held a gun on Michael. Finn interceded and suggested that both Anna and Jason drop their guns. He added that Scorpio was on his way.
Sam arrived, and Jason wanted to shoot Henrik before Henrik hurt anyone else. Anna insisted that he was her son, and she would take charge. Henrik spoke up. "No, you're not my mother. You're just the bitch who gave birth to me," he said. Sam urged Jason not to shoot Henrik, as there were too many witnesses. Henrik suggested that Anna kill Jason first, but then he urged Jason to do the deed. Finally, Anna and Jason looked at each other, and both lowered their guns.
Scorpio arrived with a cop who began to read Henrik his rights. Scorpio made him stop and said that the WSB didn't deal with "niceties." He wanted a written statement from Jason and planned on having Henrik extradited to prison. Henrik was taken in cuffs and urged Anna not to take too long. He called her "mommy dearest." Anna didn't want to talk to Jason about anything, and they were both sorry with the way things had turned out.
5/23 Jason and Sam entered PCPD and Peter yelled that he wanted to press charges against Jason for trying to kill him. Chase wanted some answers from Jason, who refused to talk without an attorney present. Chase informed Robert that they couldn't hold Peter without pressing charges, but Sam announced that Peter had committed fraud by filling out his Aurora employment papers with a name other than his own. She added that she was willing to press charges.
Chase talked about how Jason might want to press charges for Peter allegedly holding him prisoner, but Peter claimed he'd saved Jason's life. He'd been coerced into participating in the memory-writing procedure, but he'd betrayed his father and risked his life to keep Jason safe. Jason remembered that he'd been drugged and restrained for five years in a Russian clinic.
Peter claimed that he needed medical attention after Jason had hit him in the head. Chase reluctantly agreed and instructed an officer to have a cell ready for when they returned. When Chase and Peter were gone, Jason and Sam speculated on why Peter had requested medical attention until she remembered that Maxie was at the hospital. The two booked it out of the police station.
Jason and Sam arrived at the hospital, and Jason surmised that Peter would want to tell Maxie his own side of the story. As if on cue, Deanna pushed Maxie, followed by Drew, down the hall in a wheelchair to go see her son. Just then, Peter entered in cuffs, flanked by Chase and Finn. Finn and Chase accompanied Peter on the elevator to get some tests run.
Sam informed Drew that Peter most likely had the flash drive with Drew's memories on it, but Drew refused to rely on Peter. He divulged that he and Andre were "taking matters into our own hands." He wanted to be Drew Cain, and he didn't want any trace of Jason. When he was gone, Sam told Jason, "he may not want that flash drive, but I sure as hell do." She got into the elevator and motioned for Jason to join her, which he did.
5/30 Jason was on the phone with Spinelli, urging him to help gather the evidence to prove Carly's innocence. There was a knock at the door, and it was Kim, who wanted to discuss something important about Drew. She told Jason about the risk that Drew wanted to take to get his memory back, and she wanted Jason to stop him. Jason insisted that he couldn't help and that Carly was his first priority. He thought that Drew could take care of himself.
Kim explained that Dr. Maddox would perform the procedure, and the best-case scenario would be that Drew would be rid of Jason's memories and retrieve his own. The worst would be that they would see Drew suffer with brain damage, and she didn't think he should risk it for Oscar's sake. Her son, and Jason's nephew, was just getting to know his father. She wanted Jason to talk to Drew.
Jason insisted that Drew would never listen to him, and Kim continued to try to persuade Jason. She thought that Drew wanted to know his true feelings about Sam. Jason looked at Kim's stricken face as he refused and gently said that if he were in the same spot, he would want the procedure, but he didn't think it mattered what he thought. Kim was curious as to what would make Jason not do the procedure. Jason thought that he could be convinced to change his mind by people he loved, especially Carly. He thought that maybe Drew would listen to Kim, who thanked him and left.
Curtis and Sam sat outside of Kelly's, and they chatted about Curtis' public marriage proposal to Jordan. He was impressed that Sam had figured out that Peter was Henrik. Sam explained all that had happened, and she revealed that Anna was Peter's mother. She added that the WSB wanted to extradite Peter, and Drew had put out a press release about the story.
Sam clarified that she had wanted to support Drew and their family with Aurora, but she had only remained at Aurora to investigate Peter. She wasn't really cut out to sit behind a desk. Curtis had a solution, and he asked Sam to partner with him in an investigative firm. He thought they could merge their resources and clients. Sam and Curtis bickered over the name of the firm, although Sam revealed that she had gone back to her maiden name of McCall. She played with her wedding rings as she spoke.
Sam paid a visit to Peter and told him she was grateful that he had saved Jason's life and might have the answer to Drew's life. Peter wondered how grateful she was, and Sam snapped that she didn't owe Peter anything. Peter mentioned that Drew planned to have the procedure, but he thought that Sam should tell him not to do it without the flash drive because without it, there wouldn't be anything to replace Jason's memories with.
5/31 Sam arrived at Jason's and asked for his help. She told him about her conversation with Peter about the flash drive, and she wanted to get the drive. He didn't want to break Peter out of jail, as it would be too dangerous for Anna. Sam turned to leave in order to "take care of something," and Jason countered that she would get caught if she went by herself.
"This is my choice. Like all the choices you made that I hated, and they broke my heart. I respected them," she reminded him.
"You're gonna respect mine," she finished.
"How about a compromise?" Jason conceded.
Sam and Jason entered the holding area of the police station, and she assured him that Spinelli had looped the security footage. They entered where the cells were, and they were shocked to find Valentin in Peter's cell. Anna entered, equally shocked, and demanded to know what was going on.
A few minutes later, Anna returned, having gotten an APB put out on Peter. She'd found out that the security cameras had been tampered with, and the guard had been "paged out of the holding area." She assumed that Spinelli had helped and wondered why Sam and Jason were there. Sam revealed that, with Peter and the flash drive gone, "so is any chance for Drew's memory."
6/1 At Metro Court, Anna and Jason searched through Peter's hotel room. The pair disagreed over whether Peter would be after Anna, who thought that the incident at the pier had not been an "accurate" one. A cheerful Robert arrived and announced that he would have to put Anna and Jason on his payroll. He accused Anna of being happy that Peter had escaped jail. Anna insisted that she wasn't happy because Peter would be a target, and she wanted him freed.
Robert suggested that Anna might have lost touch with reality if she believed that Peter could be free. He reminded her that Peter had been Faison's accomplice. Anna clarified that Peter had been forced to do what he'd done, and a person couldn't be convicted for something that they might do. Robert accused Anna of having a double standard, and Anna agreed that she did. Jason located a spot where the flash drive might have been taped and hidden. Robert thanked Jason for saving Anna's life, and he told Anna to call Robin to tell her about her brother. Jason left.
Jason arrived to see Michael, and Nelle rose, left the room, and closed the doors so that the men could have their privacy. She stood outside to listen. Jason advised Michael that he did not agree with Carly's plea of insanity because Carly had not pushed Nelle down the stairs. He wondered if Michael believed Nelle's story. Michael responded that he had to take care of his family, and Jason warned him to be careful.
Carly received another visitor, and she was happy to see Jason. They touched their hands in unison on the glass between them and picked up the red phones. They discussed her plea, and Jason vowed to find the blanket and prove that Nelle had been lying. Carly thought that that wouldn't help prove that she hadn't pushed Nelle. Jason thought that Spinelli could locate information on the scarf if Nelle had shopped and purchased it online, and they would prove that Nelle had been lying also.
Carly thought that the insanity plea was best, although Jason warned her not to fake her illness like she had the last time she'd been incarcerated at Shadybrook. He wanted her to listen to her instincts. Carly wanted to fight because her family needed her. Jason said that he would always back Carly, even if she turned out to be wrong.
6/5 Sonny handed Diane some of Carly's anti-anxiety pills he'd found upstairs. Diane declared that the more meds they found, the better, in order to prove that Carly had been unstable. Diane had gotten an earlier trial date, but Jason revealed that he hadn't been able to find any evidence yet and needed more time in order to prove that Nelle had been lying and torturing Carly. He insisted that Carly was not crazy and had not made things up.
Jason explained what had happened with the phone calls and the scarf incident, but Diane kept saying that it was all "speculation." It would still show that Carly had been angry enough to push Nelle down the stairs, and the district attorney would salivate at that.
Sonny admitted that while he hated Nelle, he didn't want Carly to go away to prison. Jason declared that the evidence that he would find would show that Nelle was a liar. He disclosed that when he'd visited Carly, he'd told her not to plead insanity. Diane and Sonny were angry, but Jason advised them that Carly hadn't listened to him. Diane was nervous and thought that Carly would appear too rational to plead insanity. Sonny was more confident in his wife.
Jason argued with Sonny and Diane. The lawyer explained that she could prove that Carly hadn't been in her right mind, and she wanted to put Jason on the stand to testify that Carly had been losing it. Jason retorted that Diane should not call him to the witness stand because he would not lie that Carly was crazy.
As Alexis looked at the old photo of Mikkos, Sam surprised her mother by showing up with some snacks. Alexis wondered if she'd forgotten plans they'd made, but Sam hesitatingly confided that she needed some help. She wanted to sign away her share of Aurora to Drew. Alexis disagreed and explained that Drew had used Jason's money, and perhaps Jason would want something different done financially. Diane might have something to say about it, Alexis added.
Sam replied that she didn't need any of the money from it, and she wanted a "clean break." She didn't want to drag things out the way Alexis and Julian had done. Alexis agreed that her daughter was right, and she admitted to having kissed Julian once. She had also gone to Dr. Collins for help in trying to stop her bad habit of picking horrible men. Alexis had realized that she always picked men like her father, and she needed to fix it.
Alexis showed Sam the photo of Mikkos, and she explained that her father had never shown any interest in her except for once when she'd been pregnant with Sam. Alexis wondered if there had ever been any good in Mikkos. She also revealed that she had a way to get some information.
Just then, the doorbell rang. It was Valentin. "Please tell me that's not who's gonna help you," Sam implored. Valentin stood at the door because he wasn't sure whether to walk inside. "He's your historian?" Sam asked. Valentin wondered if it was a bad time and noted that he was getting mixed signals. Sam noted that Luke Spencer would have been a better resource and proceeded to tell Alexis about Valentin's history with Peter. She added that after what Valentin had done to Peter as a child, one could imagine what he might do to Alexis.
Valentin declared that he regretted what he'd done. He also announced that Peter had escaped by forcing Valentin into a cell that had happened to be unlocked. He noted that there had also been no jailers or cameras present and wondered how that might have happened. He looked at Sam and told Alexis that he had payment for her services, which was the information on Mikkos.
Sam pulled her mother away and asked if Valentin had been Alexis' only option. She warned Alexis to be careful, and Alexis thought that phrase sounded familiar. As she made her way to the door, Sam warned Valentin not to hurt Alexis.
6/8 In court, Griffin explained that he had treated Carly for hallucinations. Just then, Jason walked in, and Carly smiled. Griffin declared that he'd run tests, found nothing wrong, and referred Carly to Dr. Collins, who took the stand next. Kevin spoke about Carly's past and the fact that he'd put her on an anti-anxiety drug.
Kevin agreed that there could be side effects between the drugs and Carly's condition. He hadn't made a full diagnosis, but he thought she suffered from an anxiety disorder, which could have made her take physical action without understanding the consequences. Dawson mentioned Carly's shooting of Tony Jones and her subsequent insanity plea and pointed out that Carly had not gone to jail. Diane objected, and the judge sustained it.
Kevin also noted that Carly had canceled follow-up appointments, and Dawson wondered if Carly's condition hadn't been serious enough. Diane objected again. Chase was next up on the stand, and he told of his investigation into the alleged break-in at Carly's house. He noted that Carly had been agitated, but he had chalked it up to an "overactive imagination."
Chase had also found Carly at Morgan's grave at night with a note on a flyer that he couldn't see, and she'd insisted she'd smelled Morgan's cologne. He hadn't thought that Carly was dangerous, although she'd been disturbed and irrational. He had thought it okay for her to go home.
Sonny was next on the stand. He told the court that his family had been shaken after Morgan's death, and then his father had moved in because Mike had Alzheimer's. He hadn't noticed Carly and her belief that their dead son had tried to get in touch with her. He didn't believe any of the incidents were real, but he understood that she believed they were. He was worried about her, and he admitted that he'd also been concerned before Nelle's shower.
Sonny called out that he had never trusted Nelle, but Carly had seen her as a threat, especially to Michael. He believed that Carly had been protecting her kids. Dawson mentioned Sonny's ties to organized crime, and Sonny quickly corrected her. He was in the coffee import business, he clarified. She asked if Sonny felt guilty about his alleged affair with Nelle and his subsequent coverup. Sonny advised her that it had been resolved, and he had hidden it because Carly had already been close to a breaking point.
Dawson wondered if he was lying again in order to keep Carly out of jail. The judge intervened and announced that he needed to give a "lesson in proper procedure." Jason leaned over and spoke to Carly. He wanted to prove that Nelle had set her up. He told Carly to fire Diane, which would create a mistrial, and it would give him some time to "make this thing go away."
Diane ordered them to stop speaking to each other. Sonny continued to talk, and he spoke of when his father and daughter had been missing due to Carly being at Morgan's grave. He thought that his wife hadn't been in her right mind, especially concerning the note that no one could see. She was grieving and needed help. Sonny stepped down.
Jason took the stand and told the court of all the incidents that had led Carly to believe that she'd heard from her son. He added that Carly had hoped that her son would be alive. Jason also admitted that Carly had told him everything before telling Sonny but had revealed everything the night of the alleged break-in.
Jason thought that Sonny had been distracted by his father and hadn't noticed anything. Jason was unable to answer the question pertaining to whether Carly had been behaving irrationally but mentioned his concern for Carly instead. Dawson asked if Carly had been insane when she'd assaulted Nelle.
6/11 In the courtroom, Jason's testimony on the stand was concluding. Dawson asked whether he thought that Carly had been insane when she'd assaulted Nelle. Jason replied that he couldn't answer. "Can't or won't?" Dawson asked. Jason recalled Carly's wish to stay with the insanity plea, and he advised Dawson that he couldn't answer because he wasn't a psychiatrist.
Diane rested her case, and Dawson went first with her closing argument. She stated that Nelle had started the conflict, but Carly had kept it up and had tried to kill Nelle and her unborn child. She added that Carly needed to pay for it, and Carly had known what she was doing. Diane rebutted that Carly had snapped after Morgan's death and Nelle's betrayal. Carly needed compassion and help. The judge advised the court that he would render his decision as soon as he could, and he called for a recess.
Diane was happy with the testimony, and Dawson approached her to say that she thought Diane's insanity plea had been brilliant. Sonny ordered Dawson to stay away from his family if her problem was with him, but Dawson retorted that his relatives should stop pushing pregnant women down the stairs. Jason and Sonny went off for a walk.
"Nice footwork," Dawson commended Jason on his testimony. Word was received that the judge had made his decision, and Jason, Sonny, Diane, Dawson, Nelle, and Michael headed back into the courtroom. A police officer returned Carly to the courtroom. Sonny hugged and kissed his wife and sat down. The judge entered and announced that he had found Carly guilty by reason of insanity. "It worked!" Sonny said to Jason. Diane announced that arrangements had been made with Shadybrook, but Dawson demanded that Carly get the punishment she deserved.
Diane objected, but Dawson insisted that she wanted to protect the mother and baby. The judge was angry but continued that he still saw Carly as a threat to both herself and others. He sentenced her to Ferncliff, an institution for the criminally insane. Family members were distraught, but Nelle smiled.
Carly begged the judge to place her in Shadybrook, but the judge was insistent that she needed treatment, not a vacation. Carly pleaded with Sonny to keep an eye on Josslyn and Michael, and he promised to take care of Nelle. Carly cried that she would wait for Jason to get her out. Diane explained that the only other option would have been years in prison, but she would challenge the sentence and let the others know if they were needed. Jason refused to wait.
In a room at Ferncliff, Carly sat on the bed. "Whatever it takes, I'm going home," she told herself.
6/12 Jason was playing pool at the Floating Rib when Sam approached with a beer for him. She thought he looked like he needed a drink, and she complimented his bright blue tie. He revealed that he'd worn it for Carly while he'd testified at her trial. He updated her that Carly had been sent to Ferncliff "again." He told Sam about the first time Carly had stayed at the institution, when Carly had shot Tony after he'd kidnapped Michael. She'd thought it would be a good idea to fake her mental illness and ended up trapped in Ferncliff for four months when Michael was a baby.
Jason countered that, this time, Carly had done exactly as she'd been told, and she'd still ended up in Ferncliff, even though it was Nelle who belonged there. He regretted not noticing that Nelle had been setting Carly up until it had been too late. He vowed to prove that Carly hadn't pushed Nelle and that Nelle was a "psycho" and a liar with a grudge. He wished he was with Carly to "talk her down," and Sam forbade him from getting himself checked into Ferncliff. He informed Sam that she'd just given him an idea.
6/13 Nina told Sam and Curtis that Valentin was on his way, and she slipped them a piece of paper with the security code. Sam hoped that he would be gone long enough so that they could look around, and Nina assured her that she and Valentin had a lot to talk about. As they left, Nina received a text from Liesl advising Nina that "our guest requires more painkillers." A few minutes later, Valentin sat down with Nina, and she informed him that she wanted a divorce. "I would give you the world, but not that," he replied.
Sam and Curtis entered Wyndemere quietly, wearing gloves. Curtis put in the security code, and they made their way to the living room. She showed him the bookcase and helped him open it, advising him to be careful down in the maze of the tunnels. He returned a few minutes later, and she showed him some papers she'd found that could put them on Peter's trail.
Jason entered as Sonny yelled at Diane to fix things, and he threw his phone. "That's my son, always even-tempered," Mike cracked. Jason wondered where Felix was, and Sonny told him that it was Felix's day off. Jason offered to return later, but Sonny replied that he needed Jason "now." Sonny simply explained Carly's situation to Mike, and Mike wondered how they could help her. Jason revealed that he had an idea, and he left to put it into motion.
Mike thought that Jason was "strange," and he thought that Sonny could have been anything he'd wanted to be instead of "wasting your time with thugs and hoodlums." Sonny thought they had more important things to talk about, and Mike agreed. He began to talk about his Bel Air again and mentioned that a body couldn't be hauled in that car. Sonny asked for clarification, and Mike added that there wasn't enough trunk space in the car.
Jason arrived at the hospital and thanked Elizabeth for her help, and she was glad to do it. She wondered how Carly was, and Jason hoped that the paper Elizabeth was handing him would help him find out. She wished him luck, and he left.
Mary Pat entered her office and apologized to her visitor for keeping him waiting. The man introduced himself at Mr. Nichols, and Mary Pat reached out and shook Jason's hand. Jason handed her a résumé and letter of recommendation, which she found impressive. She wondered why he would leave General Hospital for a place like Ferncliff, and he replied that he'd heard there were more hours available there. She admitted that they'd had a hard time finding and keeping a custodian, as he'd have constant contact with patients. She asked if he had a problem with that. "No, no problem at all," he replied.
6/14 Sam found some papers on the coffee table and showed them to Curtis when he emerged from the catacombs. She identified the papers as invoices from Valentin's charter service dated the same day as Peter's escape. Sam called the company, claiming to be Valentin's wife, but Nina wasn't an authorized user on Valentin's account, so Sam got no help from the company. Curtis' phone went off, and he informed Sam that Nina wasn't able to stall Valentin any longer, so they needed to go. "We're not going anywhere," Sam replied.
Valentin entered the house and looked around, noticing that something was amiss. He thought back to his meeting with Nina, and he heard a door creak. "You're not as stealthy as you think," he called out. "Good thing we weren't trying to hide," Sam replied as she and Curtis emerged from the next room. They wanted to know Peter's whereabouts, but Valentin claimed that, while Peter had chartered a jet from Valentin's account, he'd never shown up.
As satisfied as possible, Sam and Curtis left the house and assumed that Valentin was lying. Curtis thought that Peter could have left town by some other mode of transportation, but there had been checkpoints everywhere that night, looking for Peter. "Unless he never left town," Sam suggested. She suggested that he was still in Port Charles.
Mary Pat wondered why Jason would leave General Hospital, and he admitted that he'd heard there were more available hours at Ferncliff. She wondered if contact with patients would be a problem, and he denied that it would. "A mess is a mess everywhere. It's my job to clean it up," he added. Mary Pat offered to take him on a tour, and they left her office.
Mary Pat showed Jason around the wing with the "violent offenders," who were mostly in solitary. He wondered if that was on doctor's orders, and she proudly divulged that it was on her own orders. From her room, Carly heard Jason's voice as Mary Pat told Jason about what had landed Carly in Ferncliff. "Jason, thank God," Carly muttered as she looked out the window of her door. He saw her and nodded, unseen by Mary Pat, who was replying to a text message.
Rupert approached and caught sight of Carly in the window, and he cursed that Carly's medication hadn't kicked in. Mary Pat introduced Rupert to "Jesse Nichols," and the chief orderly advised Jason to "stick to mopping floors. Leave the patients to the professionals." When he was gone, Mary Pat informed Jason that, as long as his references checked out, he could start later that day. She thought that he would be a good fit for the facility, and he agreed.
6/19 Alexis and Sam sat at a table in Metro Court. Alexis advised her daughter that the paperwork had been filed to change Sam's name and for her dissolution of the Aurora partnership. Sam added that she had her new partnership with Curtis, but she thought that a "clean break" from Aurora had been best. Alexis admitted that she needed a similar break from all of her bad relationship choices, and her session with Kevin had been "eye-opening."
Alexis noted that she had barely known her mother but her mother had still influenced her -- and in a not very good way. Alexis had been repeating her mother's pattern, and she needed to break the cycle. Alexis declared that she had been dating men who couldn't give her what she needed. Sam thought it was positive that Alexis had recognized the problem.
Sam wished that Alexis could have known her mother as an adult and asked her questions. Alexis also wished she could have raised Sam, though she doubted she would have done as good a job. Sam spotted Alexis' watch, and Alexis disclosed that it had been her mother's, and her mother had received it as a gift from Mikkos. Valentin had given it to Alexis as a reminder of her parents' love. Sam thought Valentin might also have wanted to play mind games. Alexis revealed that she also had a photo of her mother wearing the watch, and she hadn't "looked like a victim."
Anna stepped off the elevator and saw Alexis and Sam at their table. She walked over to say hello in a cheery, bubbly manner. She added that she wished she and Robin lived close together the way that Alexis and Sam did. She left, and Sam voiced her admiration for Alexis not tossing her orange juice into Anna's face. Alexis admitted that she was happy for Anna and Finn. "I also have a bigger fish to fry than Finn," Alexis declared. The pair clinked their glasses in a toast.
Jason walked into the game room at Ferncliff, pushing a janitor's cleaning cart, and he stopped to mop the floor. As Jason mopped, Carly told Mary Pat that she was feeling much better, and Ferncliff wasn't so bad. Mary Pat called her Caroline, and Carly whispered, "It's Carly." Mary Pat stopped to talk to Jason, and Carly heard his voice and turned. Their eyes met in a silent greeting.
Jason managed to get over near Carly to ask if she was okay. Carly admitted it was bad, and Jason urged her not to panic but to play the part. He wanted her to say and do what was expected of her. Carly called out that she was finished with her puzzle, and she wanted to make a bracelet.
Kevin made his way over to Carly and sat down. Carly admitted that she felt better, and Kevin advised her that she was on the right path. He would approve her release soon. Carly wondered if she could get moved to the "mellow wing," but Kevin told her that no beds were available. He would find one as soon as possible. Kevin bent down to pick something up, and he saw Jason. He called out his name, and Jason looked at him wordlessly. Mary Pat and the orderly watched.
6/20 Kevin explained to Carly that she would be moved to the main wing of Ferncliff as soon as there was a bed available. He promised to be back soon and turned to leave, but he spotted Jason. He whispered that it wasn't a good idea for Jason to be there. Seeing the two men interacting, Mary Pat approached and introduced Kevin to "the new custodian," and she wondered if they knew each other? Jason explained that his last job had been at General Hospital, where Kevin worked. Mary Pat expressed her surprise at how Kevin had time when he was at Ferncliff so often.
Mary Pat warned Kevin not to spread himself too thin so that others would have to pick up his slack, as she had to deal with everything once he left. Rupert entered and grabbed Carly, telling her that it was time for some rest. Kevin ordered that Rupert let her go, as he still needed a few minutes alone with her. Mary Pat objected, but Kevin pulled rank as the doctor, so Mary Pat and Rupert cleared the room. When the room was empty, Carly expressed how happy she was that Jason was there. "Too bad you can't stay," Kevin told Jason.
Jason and Carly protested, as they both thought that Jason was in the perfect position to keep an eye on Carly. However, Kevin reminded Jason that he'd gained access to a government facility under an assumed name. If Mary Pat found out, there would likely be consequences for both Jason and Carly, and Kevin would probably be forced out, as well, leaving Carly vulnerable to Mary Pat's whims. "It's your call," Jason told Carly. "I'll risk it," Carly replied. She wanted Jason there with her, so he insisted to Kevin that he was staying.
6/22 Sam and Curtis updated each other on their progress looking for Peter, but neither had had any success. They figured that someone had to be helping him, and the only name that made sense to them was Valentin. Sam suggested they search Peter's hotel room to see if anything had been missed in the previous searches.
Sam and Curtis arrived in front of Peter's hotel room, and Sam picked the lock. They entered the room and saw that it had already been rented out, so they figured that they needed to hurry. Sam suggested that they search the vent, so she shined her flashlight on it. As they went to the pull the vent cover off, Dawson entered and asked what they were doing in her room.
Carly was doing push-ups on the floor of her room when Jason peeked in. She saw him and peered out, placing her hand against the window, and he placed his hand on the other side of the glass. Rupert rounded the corner with his arms full of stacked dinner trays and ordered Jason to open Carly's door. Jason complied, and Rupert entered the room. He told Carly to pick one of the trays. She chose the bottom tray, and all three trays clattered to the floor, spilling food all over.
"Idiot," Rupert spat at Carly, and he demanded that Jason clean up the food. Rupert left and locked Jason in the room with Carly, which she couldn't believe. "Nice trick," he said, but he warned her that she needed to be a "model patient" and cooperate with Rupert and Mary Pat if she wanted to go home. She figured that telling Jason to quit would go along the same lines as that strategy, but she didn't think she could make it there without him.
Carly talked about how trapped she felt, and Jason understood after having been held at the clinic in Russia. He reminded her that every day, she got closer to going home, and he urged her to do it for her family. She grabbed his hand but pulled it away just in time for Rupert to miss it. She wondered where her dinner was, and Rupert advised her that, since she'd spilled hers, she didn't get any food until the next meal.
6/25 In Peter's hotel room, Sam directed Curtis toward the air vent. As he reached up to take the vent off, the door opened, and D.A. Dawson entered. As they tried to explain that they were private investigators hired by the police department, Dawson took their picture. She dismissed it as "breaking and entered," and she forwarded the picture to the cops. Sam and Curtis handed their IDs to Dawson, and she wondered why they'd been told to search the district attorney's room.
Curtis explained that the room was actually Peter's "last known whereabouts," and it had to have been an oversight that no one had told her that they would be there. She told them to continue their investigation and sat down to watch. Looking in the air vent, Curtis thought that the dust imprint made it look like there had been a bag in the vent for a "quick getaway." They finished up, and Curtis thanked Dawson for her cooperation. "It was...interesting meeting you," Sam said icily, and she and Curtis left.
Inside her room, Carly heard a man screaming and looked out the window. Outside the room, Jason looked around for the source of the scream as Kevin rounded the corner. Jason asked who the screaming patient was, but Kevin replied that he didn't discuss patients with custodians. Kevin had to let a supervisor know about the patient, so Jason asked for a minute with Carly while Kevin was gone. Kevin reluctantly agreed and locked Jason in Carly's room.
Jason handed Carly his "burner phone" and instructed her to keep it hidden, keep it off, and only use it in emergencies. He believed that Kevin was going to turn him in, but he promised that he was going to get Carly out. They embraced as Kevin returned.
Jason was mopping the floor when Mary Pat approached. She informed him that his shift had ended ten minutes before, and they didn't pay for overtime. She appreciated his diligence, but she instructed him to clock out immediately.
At the Floating Rib, Sam and Curtis were in disbelief about the outcome of their investigation. Sam added that the D.A. "rubs me the wrong way." Jordan entered and sat with them. She told them about the security footage from the Metro Court, in which Peter was seen entering the hotel but not leaving. Dawson entered, and Jordan introduced her to Curtis and Sam. "We already met," Curtis said sheepishly.
Sam and Curtis discussed where Peter could have gone and who could have helped him go. Sam suggested that, instead of looking for someone who would help him, they should start concentrating on those who were looking for revenge.
At the Floating Rib, Anna asks if Jason had any leads on Peter, but he admitted that he was focused on Carly. She told him that she'd told Robin about Henrik, and Jason confessed that he'd talked to Robin. She'd thanked him for saving Anna's life, and Anna apologized that she wouldn't have done anything different that night. Jason admitted that he probably would have acted the same as Anna had if she'd had a gun on Michael.
Jason told Anna that she'd taught Robin about things like kindness and doing the right thing, and Robin had taught Jason all of that after his accident. He didn't think he could even repay them for that. Jason's phone went off, and he announced that he had to go. She wished him luck and told him to be careful with whatever he was doing. He advised her to watch her back, and he left.
Jason returned to Ferncliff, where he was greeted by Mary Pat as "Mr. Morgan. I don't like liars." She asked for his badge, and he reluctantly gave it to her. She advised him to follow her out, or she would have Rupert escort him out. She walked away, and Jason followed as Kevin watched from around the corner.
6/26 Jason arrived at Sonny's and assured Sonny that Carly was "hanging in there," but he'd been fired. He explained that Carly was "in trouble," because Mary Pat was a control freak and hated that Carly didn't fear her. Jason feared that if they didn't get Carly out fast enough, she would make a plan on her own to get out.
Josslyn arrived, and Jason wondered what she was holding. She brushed it off as unimportant, but she showed them her award from school. Sonny congratulated her and told her that he would have gone to the ceremony. "No one would be more proud than your mom," Jason added. Sonny offered to have a dinner celebration that night, and she agreed. Sonny had to take care of something, so he left. Josslyn informed Jason that he didn't need to babysit her, but she broke down crying in his arms.
Josslyn cried that she hadn't visited Carly when she'd had the chance, and she feared that Carly would think that Josslyn didn't love her anymore. Jason assured her that Carly would never give up on any of her loved ones, and he promised that Carly would return home. Josslyn believed him because Carly believed in him more than anyone else.
Jason met with Michael to "check in." "I'm still alive," Michael joked, but Jason scolded him for the joke. Michael took the blame for Carly being put in Ferncliff after he'd tried to "save" Nelle, who he'd known was "twisted." Michael observed that his family was "crumbling," and he needed to make it right. Jason promised to help, and he asked if Michael had had any luck with Nelle's computer.
Michael told Jason that he'd found proof of Nelle sending the T-shirt to herself to frame Chase. He added that Nelle believed she had Michael "eating out of her hand." Jason said that Spinelli could follow the lead of the T-shirt, which could possibly lead to the scarf and baby blanket. He advised Michael to back off, but Michael replied, "Hell, no. I'm just getting started."
6/28 At Volonino’s, Sam agreed to spot Jason because he stated that he really needed to punch something. As Jason punched the bag violently, Sam noted that she was happy to see him. He told her about his brief job at Ferncliff until Dr. Collins had had him fired.
Sam stated that she had thought Kevin to be a "good guy," but Jason explained that Kevin had only been protecting Carly. Sam thought that had been a wise move, but Jason replied that he had wanted to protect Carly himself as well as make sure she didn't do anything she shouldn't. He thought that Carly always managed to do the wrong things when she panicked. He added that Mary Pat had it in for Carly as well as all of the other lurking dangers with the other patients. Ferncliff had been designed to "break you down," Jason concluded.
Jason noted that he had a few leads to evidence that would clear Carly. Sam thought it would take time, but Jason insisted that if Kevin couldn't get Carly out and if he didn't have the evidence, then Jason would break Carly out. He had a plan, and he and Carly could head to Canada, Jason declared. Sam pointed out the risks with the plan.
Jason stated that he had been looking for the scarf or proof that Nelle had purchased it, or the bottle of cologne. He mentioned the note on the flyer that had been blank, and he and Sam agreed that it had probably been disappearing ink. Jason needed to know what had happened to the flyer. Sam made a phone call and learned of the official call about vandals that Chase had made at the cemetery. The flyer had been logged in as evidence. Jason wanted to retrieve it in order for Spinelli to make the message reappear. Sam declared that they both would go after it.
6/29 Sam and Jason stood at the entrance to the Port Charles Police Station. "This is what I do," Sam assured Jason as she went inside.
Jason and Spinelli met at Pozzulo's. Jason updated Spinelli on the cologne and the blank flyer that Carly had not imagined. It was "all Nelle," Jason declared. He added that someone had called to report Carly at the cemetery, and Spinelli suggested it had been Nelle. Just then, Sam returned. "Piece of cake," she professed. She had the mystery flyer in a plastic evidence bag, newly retrieved from the police station.
Sam revealed that she and Curtis had been working with the police department, so it had been easy to obtain. Spinelli was stunned to learn that Sam was in business with Curtis, though he congratulated her. Sam reminded Spinelli that he lived a distance away, but she suggested he freelance for them whenever possible. "Kind of feels like old times," Sam stated as she, Spinelli, and Jason stood to talk.
After Spinelli and Jason were alone, Spinelli admitted that he could understand how Jason felt when he'd seen Sam with Drew. He was sure that Curtis was great, and it wasn't like Curtis was taking his place exactly. He was thrilled that Sam had taken her maiden name and was divorcing Drew because she was more herself with them and Curtis. He hoped she was finished with her self-discovery and would find herself with those she loved -- like Jason.
Spinelli applied a special solution to the back of the blank flyer, and as he and Jason waited to see if it worked, Jason noted that he was sure it would. Spinelli called Nelle a sociopath, and Jason said that he could "read" Nelle, though he wished he'd been able to do so sooner. Jason told Spinelli about his time in Russia and his long-term plan to escape. He stated that Carly was unable to do the same thing, so others had to work it out for her. Eventually, the message reappeared on the flyer. Spinelli declared that Carly had been right.
7/2 After Maxie thanked her guests for the party, Maxie sat down with Sam and asked about her and Curtis' plan to track down Peter. Sam wondered if Maxie wanted Peter to have vanished, but Maxie still wanted him to pay for his part in Nathan's death. Sam admitted that they'd ruled out Peter getting help from a friend. Curtis sat as Maxie asked if an enemy had Peter. "Start with me," she said.
"Good idea," Sam replied despite Curtis' confusion. Sam wondered if Peter, who'd been a "great liar," had said anything to Maxie about his past or any run-ins in an "unguarded moment." Maxie reminded Sam that Peter hadn't talked about his past except for Faison. Curtis suggested that a friend of Faison's could have tried to avenge Faison. Maxie decided that she had a lot to do to prepare for James, so she was going to go home and focus on her baby.
When she was gone, Curtis handed Sam a tablet and told her to watch the security footage of the night Peter had disappeared. Sam only saw someone pushing a laundry cart, and Curtis suggested that Peter had been in the laundry cart. They couldn't be sure, so Sam thought that they needed to find the person pushing the cart.
In the Quartermaine living room, Michael thanked his family for being there, minus Monica, who was in surgery, and Drew, who was in New York on Aurora business. Sonny and Jason entered, so Michael continued with his announcement that he and Nelle were getting married. In response to the family's shocked silence, Michael explained that he and Nelle wanted the baby to arrive to a "loving, nurturing family." He wondered if anyone was going to offer congratulations.
Olivia broke the silence and congratulated Nelle and Michael, but Ned thought the marriage seemed sudden. Michael told Ned that the baby had been drawing him and Nelle closer. "Over my dead body," Bobbie spat. She demanded to know why Sonny and Jason were standing there, doing and saying nothing. Sonny hugged Michael and whispered that "I hope to hell you know what you're doing." Jason wasn't happy with the engagement, but he knew that, like Carly, trying to stop Michael would make him more determined. He solemnly wished the couple "all the happiness you deserve."
7/3 At the Quartermaine house, Michael told Sonny and Jason that he was marrying Nelle in order to look out for his family. Carly had warned him, and he wanted to protect her, Michael stated. He added that he was going into the marriage with his "eyes wide open." Sonny admitted that he believed in Michael, but Jason was concerned about Nelle. Sonny was concerned that Nelle might figure out that Michael had been "playing" her.
Jason and Sonny told Michael about the disappearing ink on the flyer that Carly had found but disclosed that it could not be traced to Nelle yet. Michael promised that he would call for help if he needed it. Sonny wanted to leave to visit with Carly. After he was gone, Jason only had one question for Michael. "Why the hell are you marrying Nelle?" he asked.
The men sat on the couch. Michael admitted that he had let Nelle think she'd won in order for him to be free of his mother. She would make mistakes and be overly confident, but he was aware that she was dangerous. Michael declared that there was no limit to what he would do, and he would win. He wouldn't let emotions get in his way. He just wanted to make sure that his baby would be safe, and it would be his first priority for as long as it took.
Jason admitted that he could never do what Michael had been doing, and he respected Michael for it. He thought that every lie that Michael told would cost him, but he ordered Michael not to give up his soul. Michael stressed that he would do anything for the baby and Carly.
Sam, Lucas, and Brad stood at the bar on 4th of July. Brad and Lucas told Sam that they wanted to make sure their baby enjoyed big family celebrations for the holidays, especially since the family was so small. They sat down at a table, and Lucas asked Sam to be his baby's godmother. Sam readily accepted, and the trio toasted. Julian walked over, and Sam turned her head coldly. "May the baby arrive safely. Healthy and happy," Julian said.
He turned to leave but stopped to make sure that Lucas would notify him of the baby's arrival. Lucas agreed. "Do not let that man near your kid," Sam said after Julian had gone. Sam looked at Lucas' face and realized that he felt bad for their father. Both Lucas and Brad stood up for Julian's recent behavior regarding the adoption requests, but Sam wouldn't hear of it. They had another toast.
Jason walked up to the footbridge, and shortly after, Sam showed up with Danny. The little boy announced that he'd heard it was the best place to watch fireworks, and he invited his father to watch with them. Jason agreed as Sam gave him a big smile. Sam, Jason, and Danny watched the fireworks from the footbridge, with Danny atop Jason's shoulders.
7/5 Sam walked into Drew’s office at Aurora and disclosed that she had been trying to follow up on Peter's whereabouts, but Drew admitted that he didn't know anything that would help. He'd heard about Sam and Curtis being hired to investigate, and Sam admitted she'd been enjoying it. Drew was happy to see her, and Sam felt the same. She disclosed that she'd been worried about him undergoing the procedure for memory retrieval, but Drew confessed that he'd decided against it because of the risk factors.
Sam was glad to hear it and told him that he was great the way he was. Drew noted that it was the start of a "new chapter," as he had received the completed papers to make their divorce official. Sam began to cry, and she told him she'd only been concerned about the joint custody of Scout. Drew didn't understand why she'd given up her share of their company, but Sam thought that Aurora should only have one owner. He'd made it for them because they had been together, but they were not together any longer. She'd wanted a "clean split."
Sam began to remove her rings, but Drew didn't want them. Sam was sorry that their vows hadn't lasted, but she wasn't sorry they'd made them. She was grateful for their time together, and they would always be bonded by their daughter. Both were sorry it had ended the way it had, but Sam was insistent that she "stand on my own and start over." She put the rings in Drew's hand, but he was adamant that she save them for Scout because they had represented their love. Drew and Sam wrapped their arms around each other, and Sam left.
Sam found Alexis at Metro Court and learned that her mother had left her a message about the divorce papers. Alexis was curious as to how Sam really felt about it, and Sam related the details of the day she had bailed Drew out of jail after his fight with Jason. Drew had walked past her like she'd been nothing. Sam grabbed a napkin and wiped her eyes. She was devastated about her marriage but thought she had made the right decision. Alexis revealed that she had a breakthrough in her case, but she thought that Kiki had been hiding something.
Dvd #38B 7/6 Jason arrived at Sonny's, and Sonny informed Jason that Nelle had told Carly about Nelle and Michael's engagement before Sonny could. He added that he'd been proud of how Carly had handled the news. He'd advised Rupert not to let Nelle in again, but Jason still didn't trust anyone at Ferncliff.
Sonny commented that he had some "old business" to deal with, and he explained what had happened to the body he'd buried in Croton, including where the body had been reburied. Jason suggested that they go to Charlie's and look around to make sure the foundation was still intact after the earthquake.
A few minutes later, Sonny and Jason arrived at Charlie's. Jason headed around the back of the pub to check out the foundation, and Sonny thought he'd talk to Julian. Later Jason entered Julian’s bar and told Sonny that the foundation looked good, but Sonny would always be at risk. Julian gave Sonny his co ffee and added that he might need a double order the next month, since business was so good. He talked about the gutting and expanding he was going to do at the pub as a result. When Julian walked away, Sonny and Jason shared a frightened glance.
7/9 Julian gave Sonny some coffee on the house, as "business is good." He added that it was so good that he was thinking about expanding and gutting the bar down to the foundation. He walked away, leaving Sonny and Jason to share a terrified look.
Sonny called after Julian that the place looked fine, but Julian informed Sonny that he'd been getting a lot of requests for private events that he had a hard time accommodating. As Scott sat down at the bar, Sonny offered to buy the bar so that Julian could go somewhere "bigger and nicer," but a flattered Julian wasn't interested in selling. Sonny advised Julian to think about the offer, and he and Jason left.
Outside of Charlie's, Sonny instructed Jason to make some calls in order to delay Julian. A short while later, they returned to Sonny's, and Jason had already talked to his guys in Permits and Inspections. He informed Sonny that they would stall Julian, but hopefully it would be long enough to figure out where the body was hidden in the bar's foundation. Sonny headed up the stairs to talk to Mike about it, but Felix descended the stairs. He informed Sonny that Mike was "agitated and fearful." Felix wondered if something had happened to throw Mike off of his routine.
Sonny replied that they had talked about "the old days," and Felix told him that reminiscing could occasionally "backfire." He'd just calmed Mike down, so he thought some quiet would be good for Mike before Sonny talked to him. He reassured Sonny that Sonny wasn't doing anything wrong, and Felix headed back upstairs. Sonny regretted pushing Mike to remember, and he refused to involve his father anymore. However, he and Jason agreed that the situation needed to be resolved that night.
7/10 At Sonny's house, Jason advised Sonny not to be hard on himself about his father because Sonny had had a lot on his plate. Jason also revealed that he would no longer pursue Peter unless Anna wanted him involved, and Curtis and Sam had also been searching for Anna's son. The guys were not happy with Michael's decision to get married and were talking about it when Michael walked in and announced that he would be getting married the next day.
Sonny wondered if it had been Nelle's idea, but Michael admitted it had been his own. He wanted everything to be legal going forward. Jason was adamantly opposed and thought it risky while Sonny believed in and trusted his son. Michael tried to explain that Nelle had been "overly confident" lately and therefore vulnerable. Sonny sang Michael's praises on being a top-notch strategist just as he had been when he'd taken custody of Avery. "If he wants to take this girl down, he will," Sonny declared.
Sonny left for Ferncliff to tell Carly about the wedding. Jason admitted that while he trusted Michael, he loved him too much and was concerned that something would happen. Michael revealed that the Port Charles police were backing him up, and after hearing the plan, Jason was angry. He thought that Michael's parents would be distraught. "You are the heart of the family," Jason stated. Michael disagreed. He thought that his unborn child was the heart, and he wanted to protect it from a crazy and dangerous Nelle. It was the only way, and it was his choice, Michael concluded.
Sam found Curtis at the Metro Court bar and sat down next to him. He disclosed that he'd followed up on the person seen pushing the laundry cart through the hotel. The regular employee had called out sick and had claimed to have no knowledge of events that had transpired. The substitute had clocked in 45 minutes after the time stamp on the video footage, and no one had seen the cart. Both Sam and Curtis agreed that someone had been inside the cart.
Sam revealed that she had studied the footage again and had zoomed in on the shoes. Curtis thought they were sturdy and hideous, but Sam showed him the model on her laptop. She had zeroed in on the shoe's manufacturer, and she showed Curtis the heel on the shoe. It was a woman's shoe, and they agreed that they both had some idea of who the woman might be. Jason walked up and interrupted. He wanted to speak to Sam alone.
Jason and Sam stood out in the corridor. Before they could continue their conversation, Sam was served with a large brown envelope. She wanted to concentrate on Jason instead and ignored the envelope and its contents. Jason confided that Michael had been planning on doing something dangerous for his child, but Jason was uncomfortable, even if it was Michael's choice. He couldn't just stand by.
Sam understood that Jason still considered Michael to be a child, but she thought that Michael had learned from Jason how to protect his loved ones. Sam reminded Jason that he had told her that sometimes one had to force oneself to do what one didn't want to do. She thought that Jason should follow that rule. She opened the envelope and announced that her marriage was officially over. The envelope contained her divorce papers.
7/12 Curtis and Sam met with Jordan to go over Peter's disappearance and the information they'd managed to gather. Sam assumed that Peter had had no choice, even though they were unable to prove that he'd been in the laundry cart. Sam pointed out the shoes of the laundry cart pusher to Jordan, who recognized that the shoes had a heel and that the suspect had been a woman.
Once Jordan was gone, Curtis and Sam went over their short list of suspects and their match to the suspect's body type. Sam crossed off both Maxie and Nina from her list, and that left Liesl. Curtis couldn't believe that Liesl would have kidnapped Peter, but Sam reminded him that she'd shown up to the baby shower late with Nina, and perhaps Nina knew something.
Curtis and Sam met back at Metro Court, and Curtis divulged that he thought Nina knew more than she'd admitted. He told her of the West Nile virus on Spoon Island, and Sam wondered if it was really possible. Valentin walked through on his phone and made an appointment to see Finn regarding his infectious diseases practice.
7/13 Sonny, Mike, and Jason were at Sonny's house, all dressed and ready for Michael's wedding. Mike was confused and couldn't recall whose wedding they were heading to, and he wondered at the gloominess of the other men. He thought a wedding was a "cause for celebration." Sonny explained that Michael had had bad luck in relationships, although he had claimed to know what he was doing. Mike hoped it worked out. He went upstairs to retrieve his watch, and Sonny told Jason that he'd told Carly about the wedding. She had blamed herself, but it was "Michael's game to play."
In the Metro Court bar area, which was decorated for the wedding, Drew and Sam were the first guests to arrive. Drew noticed that Sam didn't appear to be enthusiastic, and Sam called Nelle " a lying snake" who Michael was only marrying for the baby's sake. Oscar stopped to take their photo, and he divulged that he had been interning at Aurora for the summer. "We're plotting our world takeover," the teen said. He added that it hadn't been boring. As guests arrived, Oscar went off to take pictures. Sam advised Drew that Oscar had been keeping his distance from Scout, and that bothered her. "We're still a family," she said. She planned to talk to Oscar about it.
Jason arrived at the Quartermaine's after dropping Mike and Sonny off at Metro Court. He advised Michael that he didn't want Michael to marry Nelle. Michael insisted he'd considered several options, and it had been the best one. Jason reminded Michael that Nelle was dangerous, but Michael thought it was worth it. He was to blame for trying to fix her and for getting her pregnant.
Sam and Lucas agreed they loved Bobbie's outfit, but Brad thought that Michael might want some support. Jason asked Drew to keep an eye on Nelle, since he'd be living in the same house as the newly married couple. Drew advised him that he cared about Michael. Mike asked Sonny why people were angry, and Sonny told him that no one approved of the wedding. Michael spoke to Sonny about the phone call from Carly.
Ned advised everyone to take their seats. Jason and Michael stood at the altar with Ned. Josslyn walked down the aisle. Everyone stood except for Bobbie as Nelle followed, everyone sat back down. Ned began the service. He asked if anyone had any objections because they needed to speak at that time. "Hell, no. My son will not be getting married today," Carly shouted. Bobbie smiled.
7/16 Carly ranted about how Michael couldn't marry Nelle because Nelle was "dangerous and deadly." Michael reminded his mother that they were adults, and it was what they wanted. Chase stepped in and advised everyone that he had to take Carly in, as a call had already been put in to the cops. She instructed Sonny to stay and make sure the wedding didn't happen, but he wanted to go with her. Sam promised to look after Mike so that Jason could go, as well. Carly reminded everyone of all the terrible things Nelle had done, and she looked straight at Ava while saying that Nelle had definitely had help.
Chase escorted Carly into the police station, followed by Sonny and Jason. Sonny didn't think there was a reason for Carly to be there, as she hadn't hurt anyone. On the contrary, Jordan updated everyone on what Carly had done to Mary Pat in order to escape. She added that it would be up to a judge to decide Carly's fate. Her phone went off, and she walked away to answer it.
When Jordan returned, she told everyone that Nelle was in the hospital. Jason's phone went off, and he answered it to Michael, who told him about the wedding. When he was off the phone, he updated the group about Michael and Nelle's wedding plans. Carly demanded that the wedding be stopped, but Sonny insisted that Michael had a plan. Jordan suggested that Chase escort Jason and have a "chat" with Nelle.
Ned and Josslyn entered Nelle's hospital room, followed by Jason, and Nelle and Michael were glad to have everyone there. As Ned restarted the ceremony, Chase stood in the doorway. He left as the couple both said, "I do." Michael and Nelle exchanged their rings, and Ned pronounced them husband and wife.
The newlyweds shared a kiss, and everyone congratulated them. Ned needed to sign their marriage license, so he got a pen from Jason and signed it. He promised to file the certificate the next morning. Francesca entered and declared the party over, as Nelle needed to get some rest. Ned, Jason, and Josslyn left.
Ned returned to the Metro Court and sat down with Olivia and Lulu. Lulu would have "bet money" that Carly would have gotten through to Michael. "Who said she didn't?" Olivia replied. "Nothing changes your priorities like parenthood," she added. She unenthusiastically toasted to "Mr. and Mrs. Michael Corinthos III" and the arrival of their baby. "That's the spirit," Ned said as they clinked their glasses together, and they drank.
Jason returned to the police station, and Sonny informed him that Carly had been taken back to Ferncliff. Jason dreaded Mary Pat's retaliation on Carly. Sonny kicked himself for not realizing that Carly was going to do something stupid after she'd been so calm and reasonable with him. Sonny wanted to call Diane about "new evidence" that would prove that the D.A. had scapegoated Carly because of him. Jason decided to call Spinelli.
Sam, Drew, and Mike arrived at Sonny's, and Mike offered to pour them drinks. They agreed, and he asked them how they'd met. Sam admitted that they had once been married, and Mike expressed sympathy for their divorce as he handed them drinks. He advised them that all they could do was follow their hearts. Sam thought that Mike should get some rest, and he joked that it was code for "mind your own business."
Mike said goodnight and went upstairs. Sam and Drew clinked their glasses together and drank. She agreed with Mike's sentiment about following one's heart. She thought that if someone was afraid to love because they didn't want to get hurt, they were just cheating themselves. Drew wondered if she would do things the same all over again, knowing how it had ended up. She assured him that she didn't regret their time together, and she never would.
7/17 Jason was on the phone, trying to arrange to have someone check on Carly. He finished up and saw Elizabeth and Jake. The little boy was ready to go to a baseball game with Jason and Franco to make up for the Memorial Day game that had been rained out.
Franco revealed that he had to work, and he pulled Jake aside. He thought that Jake should go and enjoy the special day with his father. Franco saw Jake often, and Jake could tell him about the game when he got home. Jake and Jason got onto the elevator. Elizabeth was shocked that Franco had convinced the boy to go with Jason alone.
District Attorney Margaux Dawson stomped into the police station and encountered Sam and Jordan. She demanded to know why she hadn't been told of Carly's escape. Jordan stated that she'd recently gotten word to the D.A., but everything had been under control. Margaux wanted to know if Sonny or Jason had been involved in the escape. Sam took exception and replied that Jason had been as shocked as anyone to see Carly show up at the wedding. Margaux announced that she would be out of the office but would have her phone with her in case of another escape attempt.
Curtis, Sam, and Jordan gathered to discuss the search for the subject who had pushed the laundry cart and probably Peter out of the hotel. Sam disclosed that only one shop in Port Charles sold the shoes their suspect had been wearing, and Curtis admitted that they believed that suspect to be Liesl. Sam noted that both Liesl and Nina had been acting more strangely than usual, and Jordan admitted that she'd noticed that too.
Just then, Finn walked in and exclaimed that he thought he had information on Peter. He showed them the notebook that Wyatt had found at the cabin, and he told them what had transpired there. The notebook seemed to be filled with a story involving the same characters as in Sinclair's first book. Finn explained that he and Franco had gone to the cabin after Wyatt had drawn a map, but the cabin had been empty, though they'd seen Liesl. Jordan immediately rushed to have a detail sent to the cabin.
Jason and Jake reluctantly left the Woodchucks' ballpark after the game had to be canceled for lack of electricity. A disappointed Jake wasn't sure he believed in fate, but Jason thought that sometimes when he looked back, he did. He believed in opportunity and choices instead. He asked if Jake had called his friend and told him the game had been canceled, and as Jake stammered, Drew walked up. Jake was happy to see him and thanked him for joining them. He hoped the men were "cool" with it.
Jason noted that they were Jake's tickets, and it was okay. Jake asked Jason if it had been difficult to return to town after all he'd been through. Jason said it was sometimes. Jake then turned to Drew and asked if he remembered how weird Jake had been after Jake's own return. Drew replied that it hadn't been Jake's fault. Jake recalled how bad he'd been with his brothers but how they'd grown into a team and looked after each other. He was happy to be with his two dads, even if Drew was really his uncle. They were family. Jason stated that they both loved him.
Jake and the men talked baseball, and Drew and Jake talked about how much they'd practiced with the baseball. Drew looked at Jason's face and announced that he would go back to work, since there would not be a game. After Drew left, Jason suggested that he and Jake practice with the ball. Afterwards, the pair sat on a bench. Jake asked if Sam was worth going after. Jason replied that she was great, but it wasn't up to him. Jake clarified that he had been talking about a baseball player. Jason suggested another catch.
Curtis asked Sam what had happened with Drew at the wedding. She said it was okay, and Curtis declared it was time to move on.
7/18 Sonny and Jason were discussing how to get Carly out of Ferncliff when there was a knock on the door. Sonny let Julian in, and Julian handed Sonny the old picture of Charlie and Mike. Julian explained that he'd been going through boxes in the storeroom in preparation for the expansion when he'd found the picture. Sonny revealed that being at Charlie's had triggered some memories for Mike, which was why Sonny wanted to buy the pub. Julian revealed that he wasn't interested in selling, but Mike would always be welcome for coffee "on the house. And not because you're forcing me."
When Julian was gone, Sonny and Jason speculated on how much Julian knew. Sonny suggested that they "take out" Julian altogether, and Jason had no problem with that. Just then, Michael entered to go over some things with Jason. Sonny thought that it was time tell him what Michael was planning. Michael asked Sonny to trust him, but Jason thought that Sonny should know the plan. A short while later, Michael finished filling Sonny in, and Sonny asked if Michael was really going to goad Nelle into trying to kill him.
Michael added that Chase was helping. Since he'd made Nelle believe that he still loved her, they were counting on Nelle to ask Chase for help ridding herself of Michael before his will was filed. Sonny thought it was too risky, and if anything happened to Michael, Carly would "lose her mind for real." Michael insisted that he wasn't as naive as everyone believed, and it was his responsibility to stop Nelle. Michael wanted Sonny's blessing. In exchange, Sonny wanted Michael to do "one thing" for him.
Michael was about to enter Nelle's room, but Jason called him back, which made Nelle's ears perk up. Nelle listened in as Jason made sure that Alexis had taken care of everything she'd needed to. Michael assured him that Alexis would file his will within the next few days, but he'd needed to marry Nelle to "improve my standing." He continued that, as soon as the baby was born, he would file for divorce and sue for full custody.
Sam and Curtis found Elizabeth at the hospital so they could ask her some questions about Franco's relationship with Liesl. Elizabeth informed them that Franco had gone to the police about what he and Finn had found at the cabin, but the two told her that Franco had never gone to the police.
Elizabeth called Franco and left a voicemail asking if he was still at the police station and requesting that he call her back. She promised to let Sam and Curtis know when she heard from him, and they walked away. Sam confided in Curtis that she believed Franco had lied about going to the police, but they were after Liesl, not Franco. Around the corner, Elizabeth left another voicemail for Franco and asked him to call her back, as she was getting worried.
Sam and Curtis entered Metro Court and asked Valentin if he knew where Nina was. They believed that Nina could help them find Liesl, who they believed was holding Peter hostage. Valentin remembered Nina slipping that she'd taken justice into her own hands, and he told Sam and Curtis that he thought he knew where Nina was. He claimed that he'd loaned his jet to her so she could fly to Manhattan for Crimson business.
Sam and Curtis questioned the claim but accepted it, and Valentin left. Sam immediately told Curtis that Valentin had been lying, and she believed that he knew something. A few minutes later, Sam informed Curtis that Spinelli had been monitoring Valentin's airport hangar, and his jet hadn't left Port Charles in weeks. They speculated that both Valentin and Nina knew something about Liesl.
7/19 In the padded cell, Mary Pat mocked a heavily sedated Carly and told her that it wasn't so hard to be good. She'd also found Carly's phone, which was a "no-no." Carly closed her eyes.
Maxie ran into Sam and Curtis and announced that Kim had given her a "clean bill of health." Sam disclosed that they had crossed Maxie off of their suspect list, but they wondered when she had last seen Liesl.
Maxie revealed that she saw Liesl all the time, but Sam disclosed that the doctor had had a cabin in the woods and hadn't been home in weeks. In addition, the cabin had shown signs of someone being held against their will. Maxie agreed that Liesl would be capable of making Peter suffer, and after thinking about it, Maxie realized that the woman had not been around to see James. Curtis suggested that Nina would know about Liesl, but Maxie couldn't believe that Nina would be involved. "She would never..." Maxie began.
Curtis admitted that he didn't want to think about Nina being involved, but Sam thought that Nina would be able to lead them to Liesl. Curtis and Sam continued to ask questions about Nina, and Maxie confessed that Nina had been distracted and not around too often because she'd lost her husband. Curtis mentioned the West Nile virus on Spoon Island. Maxie recalled seeing Nina in Metro Court with a takeout order big enough for two or three people. Maxie noted that Nina had asked how she would feel if Peter died, but Sam and Curtis had asked the same thing.
Outside of the exam room, Elizabeth ran into Curtis and Sam, who began to yell and ask why Franco had been at the dock. Elizabeth shouted back that he'd been attacked. Franco called out to Elizabeth, and she ran back into the room, followed by Sam and Curtis. Franco asked what had happened. Griffin assured them there was no concussion, but he said he would order tests. Franco stated that he had had a dream with Elizabeth. She asked if he recalled who had hit him, and he revealed it had been Liesl.
7/20 Sonny was looking at a brochure for a facility for Mike when Jason entered. Sonny informed him that Diane was visiting Carly, but there wasn't much she could do about getting Carly out. He regretted that there was also nothing he could do to stop Mike's Alzheimer's from progressing. He told Jason about Mike's bad day and that Felix thought it was time for Sonny to look into a facility.
However, Sonny didn't want to put Mike in a facility because the staff at the facility weren't family, and they didn't know Mike. Jason reminded Sonny that he was the one who would have to live with the choices he made for Mike, so he needed to do whatever felt right. Sonny remembered all the time he'd spent resenting Mike, but he revealed that he no longer did. He continued that it was the closest he'd felt to Mike since he'd been a boy, and he wished he had more time.
Diane entered and told Sonny and Jason about the state Carly was in. She promised to talk to the judge the next day and advised Sonny that "brute force" would not be a good solution. Diane took most of the blame for Carly's situation and promised to make it right. She intended to ask the judge for an independent evaluation so they could see that Carly was being overmedicated. She figured that Carly would either be transferred to Shadybrook, or the court would at least supervise Carly's treatment. Sonny advised Diane that it was her last chance, so she needed to "make it work."
7/24 Jason found Chase punching the bag at Volonino's gym. Jason admitted that he was concerned about Michael, but Chase assured him that their plan was the only way they'd trap Nelle and win. Jason was worried that Nelle would go to someone else for help instead of Chase, who explained that there was always a risk involved in a "sting." He promised Jason that the police would be involved.
Chase received a text message from Nelle, and he advised Jason that Nelle wanted to meet up. He added that the clock was ticking, and Michael had to die before his will could be filed. Jason asked to be kept informed of anything that Nelle had to say.
7/25 At Volonino's Gym, Jason reminded Michael that Nelle was dangerous, and he needed to protect himself. Michael couldn't believe that Jason was so worried about him, but he declared that he had backup. Sam walked in and was surprised to see the men. She told Michael that while she didn't know details, she wanted him to be careful. Michael acknowledged that he couldn't divulge anything, and she understood. She noted that "It would kill Jason" if anything happened to Michael.
Michael agreed not to take any unnecessary risks, and Sam pointed out that he sounded just like Jason. Michael exclaimed that he was doing for his child exactly what Sam had done for Danny and what Jason had done for him. He left, and Jason thanked Sam for saying what she had.
Shortly after, Sam jumped rope as Jason hit the punching bag. He looked at Sam and asked if she was okay. She explained that she was feeling lucky to have had someone return unexpectedly two different times. She meant both Danny and Jason. Sam went on to tell Jason how she'd felt after learning that Danny had leukemia. While Jason expressed sorrow for not being there, Sam advised him that she'd had her mother, sisters, and Patrick. Jason was shocked to hear of Patrick, and Sam explained that she had seen him often during Danny's illness.
Sam revealed that she and Patrick had been engaged for a short time, and Jason was thoroughly confused. Sam thought it equaled his relationship with Robin in the past, but Jason disagreed. That had been in the past, and he saw no connection. Sam confessed that the engagement had ended because of Jason. Jake Doe had been identified as Jason, and she'd thought he had returned to her. Jason declared that he owed Drew some thanks.
Sam laughed over Jason's confusion and uneasiness. Suddenly, she received a text message and ran to the door. Danny was there, and Jason was thrilled to see him. Father and son hugged. Danny was in awe of the boxing ring, and he announced that he wanted to hit the punching bag. The boy was outfitted with gloves, and while Sam held the bag, Jason demonstrated some punches to his son. The boy began to make his moves on the bag as his parents watched.
7/26 Jason escorted Kevin into Sonny's, and Sonny asked about Spencer and Laura. Kevin replied that they were doing well, and Laura was anxious to return home. Sonny wondered if Kevin missed Laura, because Sonny missed Carly. He thought it was time for a conversation about getting Carly home.
Kevin replied that it might not be possible after her escape, regardless of her motives. Sonny just wanted Kevin to tell her that she wasn't alone, but he thought there was a good chance that Carly had been reassigned to another doctor. Sonny told Kevin that he'd never failed Sonny's family. "Don't fail us now," Sonny added.
Jason entered the hospital and bumped into Elizabeth, who remarked on how good of a time Jake had had with Jason and Drew. He abruptly excused himself and made a beeline for Kevin. He wondered if Kevin had any news about Carly, and Kevin replied that there was "an additional cause for concern." Kevin took the conversation to his office and informed Jason that Carly had been reassigned to another doctor, whose methods were considered "controversial."
Kevin continued that Dr. Lasiris had revived a form of electroconvulsive therapy, and Carly was already scheduled for her first treatment for that day. He wasn't sure what the treatment would do to Carly, but the treatment was reserved as a "last resort" for those who were "truly lost."
A few minutes later, Jason exited the office and saw Franco approach Elizabeth. She wondered what had happened to his class, and he revealed that it had been cut short. He added that it was a relief, because it had been rough. Jason listened in as Franco said he believed that he couldn't do anything to help the patients at Ferncliff.
7/27 Franco stepped onto the elevator at General Hospital and regretted it immediately. Jason was standing there. As the doors to the elevator closed, Jason paused it. He wanted to hear about Franco's job at Ferncliff, and he asked Franco to get him inside. Franco mentioned that Carly had been hallucinating, and he didn't think her medications were right.
Franco was uneasy as he and Jason walked. Franco carried a box of art supplies. Jason wanted Franco to stay and help him, much to Franco's dismay. Jason thought that Franco should prove that he'd changed, just as Elizabeth had told Jason. Franco could only wonder why he'd continued to get onto the elevator after he'd seen Jason.
Just then, Franco and Jason encountered Mary Pat with an orderly, and Jason pulled out a gun. He pointed it at the nurse and orderly, asked where Carly was, and ordered them into a nearby empty room, where he locked them inside. Jason asked Franco to keep watch and divert anyone else who happened by. Franco declared that he liked his life, and he had a lot to lose. Jason agreed that Franco could leave after ten minutes.
As Franco was left alone, he began to mutter to himself. He wondered what he was doing, and he would be getting married unless he ended up on trial for Carly's breakout. He thought that Jason could be a good friend, but not to him. He was trying to prove that he'd changed.
7/30 Dr. Lasaris told Carly that continued treatments would give her a "new perspective" as he hooked her up to the electroconvulsive therapy machine. Just then, Jason burst into the room with a gun and ordered the doctor and nurse on the floor. He zip tied their hands behind their backs and took off Carly's restraints. "Are you real?" she asked. "I'm here," he assured her, and he grabbed her hand. He helped her off the table and to the door, but the doctor didn't think they would make it to the exit. Jason and Carly quickly but carefully ran through the halls of Ferncliff.
Outside Ferncliff, Franco decided that he had too much to lose to wait for Jason and Carly, but he observed that Jason had taken the keys. Surprised at himself, he asked himself, "What would Jason do?"
Just then, the passenger door flew open, and Jason put Carly in the car. Jason ordered Franco in the back, sat behind the wheel, and sped off. A few minutes later, Jason stopped in front of the hospital, and Franco got out. "Nothing says friendship like breaking someone out of the loony bin," Franco cracked. Jason thanked Franco for his help, and Franco was glad Carly was all right. Jason sped off again.
A short while later, Carly woke up on the couch in the cabin. She yelled out for Jason, and he entered the room with a glass of water for her. She confessed that she'd thought she'd hallucinated escaping from Ferncliff, but he joked that if she had, Franco probably wouldn't have been there. She wondered how he'd gotten in, and he updated her. He regretted not going after her the night she'd been taken back to Ferncliff, but he'd known that he would get to her eventually. "And you did," she said.
Carly had a confession for Jason, but she made him swear not to tell a soul. She confided that Ferncliff had been "awful," and it had been the "second most horrible thing I've ever experienced," ranked after Morgan's death. That was why she'd risked so much to stop Michael from marrying Nelle, because she couldn't go through losing another son.
7/31 In another room in the hotel, Margaux sat at her laptop and studied the opening page of the flash drive entitled "The Anamesis Project." She saw both Jason's and Drew's names listed as the subjects.
Carly took a shower at the hideout and told Jason how much better she felt. "We're fugitives," Carly declared, and she blamed herself. Jason didn't fault her for escaping Ferncliff to try to save Michael, but he told her that Nelle and Michael had married as part of Michael's plan. He filled her in with what he knew and told her that Michael had been working with the police.
Jason disclosed that he had tried to stop Michael, but Michael wanted Nelle to try to kill him. Carly wanted to call Michael right away, but Jason refused to allow her to do so. He updated her on Chase's involvement in both the current investigation and the Zachary Grant case, and he added that Chase had been the one to work out plan details with Michael. They had wanted Nelle to confess to all of her crimes including having falsely accused Carly of pushing her.
Jason continued to explain that Nelle had believed Michael's car had been rigged to crash, and both audio and video from the car would be recorded. It had been Nelle's idea to kill Michael so there would be no entrapment. Both Jason and Carly admitted that they hated the plan.
Jason grabbed a beer and advised Carly that she needed to stick with water until she rid herself of the drugs that had been given to her at Ferncliff. Carly voiced her concern over the risks that Michael was taking, because Nelle was a "psycho." Carly also believed that Monica would think that Carly had deserved Nelle's torture. Jason declared that Nelle's life was "starting to unravel."
Jason informed Carly that the two of them would depart for Canada until Diane could work out a deal. He stated that no one had given Ferncliff permission to conduct electroconvulsive therapy on Carly. There had been no security footage of him in the facility with a gun, and he knew that Franco wouldn't say anything. He hoped they would only have to hide for three months or less. Carly laughed. She didn't want to leave her family, and they would need her or Jason.
As Jason and Carly spoke, Jason suddenly heard a noise. He grabbed his gun, and Carly ran off to hide. It was Sonny. He entered the house, and he and Carly embraced. Carly told him that it had been bad at Ferncliff, and Jason had saved her. She had heard about Michael's plan. Sonny revealed that there had been a car accident; Michael was okay, and Nelle had escaped.
8/1 Sam approached Elizabeth at the hospital and asked to see Peter, but Elizabeth informed her that visiting hours were over. Elizabeth added that she was surprised Sam wasn't with Lucas. Sam excitedly asked if the baby had arrived, and she ran out to go to Lucas'.
Carly was thankful that Sonny had gotten Michael out of the car and that there was no "permanent damage." Jason reminded her that they needed to think about leaving the country. He figured that they would need to be in Canada for around three months. First, he needed to take care of something, and he left. Sonny confided in Carly that he'd feared what had happened to Morgan would happen to Michael. Carly assured Sonny that Michael was "free," and Nelle had finally been stopped. "At what cost?" Sonny wondered.
Sonny informed Carly that Nelle had admitted to "almost everything," excepting the fact that Carly hadn't pushed Nelle down the stairs. A few minutes later, Jason returned with Josslyn in tow, and Josslyn gave her mother a big hug. Wanting to give them some time alone, Sonny excused himself to check on Michael. Before leaving, Jason instructed Josslyn to listen to everything Carly said because, while it wouldn't immediately make sense, it was all true, and they had proof.
Sam arrived at the pier with an envelope. She called out for Jason, and he appeared in front of her. She handed him the envelope that she'd retrieved from the "false bottom of your nightstand" and wondered if his place was being watched. He quickly updated her on what he'd done and added that he would probably be in Canada for a few months.
Sam wondered if there was any way Diane could get Jason out of charges. The only thing that he could think of was that the treatment Carly had been about to get was a "voluntary" procedure, and neither he nor Sonny had signed any consent forms. "I can work with that," she replied confidently.
8/2 Sam and Curtis entered Ferncliff and introduced themselves to Mary Pat as officers from the United Mental Health Institute of America. They inquired about Carly's escape, but informed her that the facility was on the short list for the Innovative Program Award. Curtis asked that Mary Pat show them Carly's file in order to see that she had been treated with the "highest standard of care."
A few minutes later, Curtis distracted Mary Pat with questions about the facility while Sam looked through Carly's file, taking a paper out of it. Sam handed the file back to Mary Pat and told her that everything seemed to be in order. Curtis hoped that the next time they saw Mary Pat was to congratulate her. "From you lips," she squealed, and she walked out. Sam whispered to Curtis that she'd found the consent form for Carly's treatment. She hoped it was what Jason was looking for.
Carly thanked Jason for taking Josslyn to the safe house, and she couldn't wait to hear about Michael from Sonny. Carly loved spending time with Josslyn, and she related that the thing she hated Nelle for the most was manipulating Josslyn. Just then, Josslyn descended the stairs, fearing that Carly had left without saying goodbye. Josslyn suggested that she accompany Carly and Jason to Canada like a vacation, but Carly didn't think Jax would approve.
Josslyn continued to blame herself for Nelle being able to manipulate Carly. Jason figured that Josslyn had taken Nelle's side over and over again as a way of repaying Nelle for saving Josslyn's life. He thought it was honorable, but he told her that people would always lie and have agendas. He instructed her to always trust her own judgment and make her own decisions. Josslyn couldn't wait until the baby was born so they no longer needed to think about Nelle.
Sonny entered the safe house and announced that he had something to tell Carly, Jason, and Josslyn. "Michael's baby died," he told them, garnering open-mouthed expressions. Carly told Sonny to go back and be with Michael, but Josslyn volunteered to go, as the police probably wouldn't be monitoring her. When she was gone, Sonny assumed that Margaux wouldn't want to press Carly's case after the proof of Nelle's psychosis.
Michael arrived at the safe house, and Sonny, Carly, and Jason all tried to comfort him. He informed them that his son's name was Jonah, which meant "dove," which symbolized peace. Sonny assured Michael that Jonah would be resting well, as he was loved and at peace.
Jason went outside, and Sam was there with Carly's consent form. Jason observed that either Carly's signature on the form had been forged, or she'd been too drugged to know what had been going on. He hoped that it would be enough to get Margaux to back off, and he thanked Sam for her help.
8/6 Jason met with Sam at the docks and asked her to do a favor for him. She advised him that he was taking a chance by meeting her, and Jason explained that he was going to try something, but if he went on the run, he would be unable to help Michael. Sam replied that she would do anything that she could to help Michael, but she hoped that Jason would stay in town for both himself and Carly. She knew he'd do anything for Carly, as Carly would for him, but others needed Jason, including her and Danny.
Jason returned and announced that Sam had agreed to look after Michael. He was informed of Josslyn's activity, and all agreed that they were proud of the teenager. Carly was upset and insisted that Josslyn needed her. Jason revealed that they might not have to leave for Canada. He showed them the signed consent form for the ECT from Ferncliff.
Carly stated that the date on the form was the same day as Michael's wedding, and she had not been drugged up. Her signature had been forged. Jason declared that he had a plan, but it might be risky. Jason revealed his plan, and Carly liked it. Sonny disagreed and suggested that Canada would be safer, easier, and less of a risk. Carly was adamant that she get her life back, and Jason told her that the choice was hers.
Sam wandered into Q nursery. Michael announced that he intended to pack everything up for others who might need the baby's things. Sam suggested it was too soon, and she thought they should go somewhere so Michael could scream loudly. Michael declined, and Sam offered to help. Michael said that his marriage had been a lie, but his baby had been real. Sam stated that the baby would always be a part of his heart, and Michael should "keep living for him." She added that every day would be a victory, and the baby would know and be proud just like Michael wanted. She grabbed his hand, and then they began to pack.
As Michael looked at many of the little items of clothing, he was upset. He recalled ordering many of the items. Sam revealed that while Brad and Lucas had everything in their nursery, they didn't have clothing. Michael agreed that they should have some of it. He leaned over and pulled open another dresser drawer. He pulled out the blanket. "Look familiar?" he asked.
Margaux met Jason at the docks. She wanted a reason to not arrest him.
8/7 Michael opened one of the drawers in the nursery and found the baby blanket. He showed a shocked Sam, and she figured that someone had planted it there, as the cops had turned the room "upside down." He called Diane, but she didn't answer. Sam thought that he should take it to the police station, so she put it into a box for him. He called her a good private investigator and left.
Sam entered Alexis’ office. Kiki asked her to let Michael know that he was in Kiki's thoughts, and Kiki left. Sam told Alexis about Michael's baby, and Alexis wondered if anyone had told Kristina. Sam figured that no one had had the time to call Kristina, and she proposed that Alexis do it. Alexis didn't want to be the one to tell Kristina, as there had been "palpable tension" the few times they'd spoken. "I miss her," Alexis admitted, and Sam figured that Kristina probably also missed Alexis.
Changing the subject, Alexis couldn't believe that Jason had broken Carly out of Ferncliff. "Do you have anything to ask me?" Sam wondered knowingly. Alexis asked if Sam had had anything to do with it, and Sam replied that she hadn't. Alexis surmised that the only reason for that was because Jason hadn't asked Sam for help. After a beat, Alexis nervously observed that Sam wasn't denying anything, and Sam wondered if Alexis wanted to order food.
Jason met Margaux on the docks and told her that he had something she needed to see. He handed her Carly's forged consent form and explained to her what it was. He knew that Margaux hadn't meant for anything like that to happen, but it was still what she'd set in motion. He urged her to do what was right. She informed him that she couldn't just pretend that they hadn't talked, and she wondered if he was willing to turn himself in. "As long as Carly's safe, I'm okay with it," he replied.
Carly sauntered into the police station from the interrogation room, and Chase clarified that Carly knew she was a fugitive. Margaux entered with Jason and admitted that the law had failed in Carly's case. She was willing to remand Carly to Shadybrook, but Sonny begged to differ. His phone went off with a text from Diane that read, "mission accomplished." He informed Margaux that Diane had met with the judge with new evidence, and he'd agreed to vacate Carly's sentence. He advised against fighting it, as it would basically mean that Margaux had "aided and abetted a psycho to nail a Corinthos."
Michael entered and thought he could help with the problem. He dumped the contents of the box on a desk, and Carly gasped when she saw the blanket. He explained that he'd found it in a drawer in the nursery, and Chase chimed in that it looked exactly the way Carly had described it the night of Nelle's fall. Michael assumed that whoever had put the blanket there had been working with Nelle.
Margaux ordered the blanket tested for Nelle's DNA "After you release my wife," Sonny clarified.
Margaux thought that the blanket was "small potatoes" compared to the rest of Nelle's charges, but she promised Nelle that she would be prosecuted for every single charge. "She double-crossed me!" Nelle screamed, kicking at Chase.
Nelle screamed that everything had been Carly's fault. "I hope you burn in hell. I hate you!" she yelled. Jordan returned and demanded to know what all the commotion was. Chase took her aside and updated her on all that had happened in her short absence. Margaux ordered that Carly and Jason were to remain in custody for the time being, which angered Sonny. They peacefully walked into the interrogation room.
"We could be in Canada right now," Carly said in the interrogation room. "That's okay," Jason replied. She revealed that, while she'd stayed in town for her family, she'd needed "one more shot" at Nelle. Jason asked her how it had been, and she replied that it had been "epic" and "worth a night in prison." She grabbed his hand and apologized that he was there. "No regrets?" she asked. "None," he answered. She excitedly suggested that they could have "adjoining cells."
8/10 Chase entered the interrogation room where Jason was cuffed to the table, and Jason refused to say anything without his attorney. Chase revealed that he was only there to give Jason coffee, and he wasn't working Jason's case anyway. He informed Jason that Margaux wanted to interview him, but he wondered how Jason felt about Peter's charges being dropped. "The time is gone," Jason stated.
He wanted to get on with his life, but Chase reminded him that he'd committed "major felonies." Chase told Jason his side of working with Michael, and he again took blame for the baby's death. Jason replied that Chase had "stepped up" to help Carly and Michael, and the family was grateful.
Margaux entered the interrogation room with a box that she identified as one of many boxes of arrest records on Jason. She worked out that he'd only been in and out of the police station after he'd started working for Sonny. After a moment of stony silence, she recapped what he'd done at Ferncliff. She countered that there was no surveillance evidence of the incident, and the staff's statements were "suspect," since they'd been complicit in an "unauthorized medical procedure."
Margaux revealed that she was dropping the charges against Jason, and he was free to go. She marveled over how different Jason and Drew were, even though they were twins. She recognized that Drew was a contributing member of society, while Jason was just a criminal who hadn't been caught yet. "But you will be," she vowed, and she left the room.
Jason arrived at Metro Court and informed Drew that the charges against him had been dropped, but Margaux had deliberately mentioned Drew to him. He believed that she had an agenda, and he thought that Drew would like to know.
8/13 Inside the room that Finn had first been taken to, Robert announced that it was the last place where they'd still had a connection to Finn's tracking device. He thanked Jason for joining him, and he didn't have the "luxury" of waiting for WSB backup. Jason vowed to do anything to help Anna, and he offered up Spinelli's services, as well. As Robert retrieved Finn's tracking device from the floor, Jason suggested that Anna had been the bait to lure Finn there. Robert reminded Jason that Anna had access to a lot of "sensitive intelligence."
Robert and Jason couldn't be sure that Anna had been there, as well, until Jason spotted something on the floor. Robert identified it as one of Anna's pills, and he confirmed that it seemed that Anna had been the bait for Finn. They speculated about why Anna's captors would need a doctor, and Robert figured that there was a "medical angle" they couldn't see in regard to a mystery patient. Robert thought that they should look into Finn's past for possible enemies, as well.
Jason asked Robert to keep him updated, and Robert promised that Jason would be his second call after Robin. Jason left as Robert's phone went off, and Robert was told about a "transfer interception." He asked who had been taken.
8/15 Molly and Sam arrived together bearing coffee and a bakery box of goodies. The doorbell rang again, and Molly was thrilled to find Kristina there! There were hugs all around. Kristina admitted that she'd visited with Sonny first, and she had been hoping to stay with Sam.
After breakfast, Molly suggested that Sam help her clean up so that Kristina and Alexis could talk. Alexis and Kristina spoke of the way they'd left things the last time they'd seen each other, and Alexis only wanted to know if Kristina had been happy. She was glad to hear Kristina say that she was.
Alexis had to leave to see a client with an emergency, and Molly had to preregister for classes. Sam offered to stay to do the dishes with Kristina, and Alexis made sure to put in her request for private time with Kristina. Once they were alone, Sam questioned her sister. "Okay, what's really going on?" Sam asked.
8/16 At Pozzulo's, Jason ended a phone call then joined Sonny at a table as he assured Sonny that Julian wouldn't be able to afford the bids to renovate Charlie's Pub. Jason was certain that Julian would drop the expansion project, and the body under the pub's foundation would remain buried. "For now," Sonny replied. Sonny was curious if he had ever told Jason about an old consigliere named Al who had worked for Joe Scully, but Jason shook his head because he didn't recall the name.
Sonny talked about the night Joe had ordered Sonny to carry out a hit. It had been Sonny's first time, and Al had sensed Sonny's nervousness, so he'd pulled Sonny aside and put his hand on Sonny's shoulder then told Sonny that the decision had been made. "Accept it, honor it, and don't look back," Al had advised. Jason was curious if Sonny had had any regrets. "Not for a second," Sonny replied.
Sonny explained that he'd never had an issue eliminating a legitimate threat, but he had never imagined that an old order from Joe Scully would be his downfall. Jason assured Sonny that they had a lot of options. A short time later, Jason announced that he had to meet Sam, but he promised Sonny there was nothing to worry about.
At Alexis' house, Sam was eager to hear how things were going in Oregon with Kristina and Parker. Kristina promised to fill her sister in, but first she wanted to hear about Sam and Jason. Sam admitted that she'd known the minute she'd seen Jason in her hospital room that she'd been married to the wrong twin. She acknowledged that she'd made mistakes running from her feelings and trying to protect Drew, but the earthquake had forced her to face the truth. Sam shared that despite how difficult it had been to tell Drew about her feelings for Jason, it had been the right thing to do. Kristina was surprised when Sam revealed that Drew had ended things.
Kristina agreed it had been for the best because Sam seemed relaxed and "free." Sam smiled because she was finally able to breathe again. She missed not having a partner, but she didn't regret having an opportunity to work on herself. Kristina suspected that Sam hoped that she would follow Sam's lead, prompting Sam to ask about Kristina's life in Oregon. Kristina talked about Parker's job, but Sam wanted to know about Kristina and Parker's relationship. Kristina confided that she and Parker had a lot of fun when they were together, but Parker had a career, while Kristina felt like she'd been "drifting."
Julian returned to the bar as Jason arrived to meet Sam. Julian smiled at Sam when Sam entered the pub, but Sam ignored him. Sam explained to Jason that she needed him to sign a permission slip for Danny's field trip, since Danny would be spending the night at Jason's place the night before the trip, and Jason would be dropping him off for the trip in the morning. She teased that their son had been talking about sneaking a pig home, but Jason warned her that the pig would be staying with her.
Sam's smile faded when she noticed Margaux talking to Julian. She was curious if she was the only one who sensed that something was off with Margaux, so Jason confided that he suspected that the new district attorney had Sonny in her sights. Sam was not pleased because it meant trouble for Jason too.
8/17 Brad and Lucas felt that a party was "tempting fate," but Sam urged them not to "postpone your feelings" until the thirty days were up. Mike added that he and Sonny had actually made lasagna for the party without bickering, because that was the magic of a new baby. Lucas took Brad aside and thought that all the love in the room would be good for Wiley, but Brad still thought it could be "too much, too soon." Lucas pointed out that even Sonny was there after his family's loss, so the two agreed to let the party go on.
Julian burst into the house and demanded to talk to Sonny. Sonny followed Julian outside, and Mike wondered where the two were going, as they had plenty of food for Julian to stay. Alexis and Sam talked about Kiki's case as they watched Wiley sleep, and Lucas thought Alexis' triumph would make a good bedtime story one day. Sam wondered what was going on with Julian, but Alexis replied that it was no longer her business to know or control what Julian did.
Julian returned to the house and apologized to Alexis for barging in. Sam invited him to leave, but Julian wanted to see his grandson before he left. Julian recounted the night Wiley had arrived, but he realized that Wiley seemed to look different. Brad tried to explain it away, but Julian got his phone out to look at the picture he'd taken with the baby. Brad "accidentally" knocked Julian's phone out of his hand while reaching for some diapers. Wiley awoke, and the picture was forgotten.
Michael held Wiley, and Mike remembered how he and Sonny had been inseparable when Sonny had been a baby. He advised Michael not to let anything get in the way of spending time with his son like Mike had, and Michael agreed. Bobbie pulled Mike into the kitchen to check on the lasagna. Alexis' phone went off, and she listened for a minute. Upset, Alexis agreed to talk to her clients and hung the phone up. She asked to speak to Brad and Lucas privately, but they thought she could say anything in front of the family. She revealed that the birth mother wanted the baby back.
8/20 Sam approached Alexis and voiced her concern about Brad and Lucas. They went into the house and found Brad pacing while Lucas sat on the couch. The men were both terrified. "Are we about to lose our son?" Lucas asked.
Alexis discussed the law and the protection covered in the contract. She explained that there would be a hearing where the baby's best interests would be covered. Lucas wanted to know what their chances were. Alexis admitted that it would be a first if they were to receive custody of Wiley over the biological mother. An agitated Brad ran out of the house.
Lucas continued to try to reach Brad on the phone, unsuccessfully, and Sam offered to look for him. Lucas thought that Brad was unable to cope, and they sat in the living room to talk. Lucas wished that he could reassure Brad, but he knew Brad was in pain. Sam put her arm around Lucas to comfort him.
Lucas was glad to hear that Wiley would stay with him and Brad until the hearing, and Alexis advised him that it would happen quickly. They would have to prepare their argument, she said. She noted that Wiley was in a "nurturing and safe home.” While Brad was sick in the bathroom, Julian sent Lucas a message to let him know that Brad was there. Sam offered to drive Lucas, but he preferred to grab an Uber.
At Alexis' house, she and Sam grabbed mugs of coffee. Sam asked if there was any hope for Brad and Lucas. "Not much," Alexis replied.
8/21 Jason was sitting at Lila's grave when Sam approached, surprised to see him, and she sat down next to him. Jason commented that, although her life had been too short, she'd still made the world a better place. Sam remembered how brave Jason had been during the funeral. He related that it was "so wrong" for Michael to be going through the same pain, but Sam was glad that he had supportive people around him. They thought back to the moment Sam had found out that her baby had died, and she informed Jason that she wouldn't have made it through that time without him.
The priest began the funeral, and then Josslyn got up to speak. She talked about how excited she'd been about the baby, because Michael deserved "everything good." She explained how Michael had been there for her all her life, starting on the night she'd been born. He'd always listened to her and made time for her, even if there was something else he would have rather been doing. She knew that he would have done the same with Jonah.
The funeral attendees arrived at the Floating Rib. Jason expressed his sympathy to Monica, as he knew how much she'd wanted a great-great-grandchild. She was only glad that Michael had so many people around to support him.
Jason and Sam were talking about Michael when Kristina approached. She realized she'd never told Jason how happy she was that he was home safe, and she was glad to have a miracle to "balance the scales." Despite Sam's protests, Kristina talked about how happy she was that Sam had Jason to love again.
8/23 Carly and Jason played pool at the Floating Rib. She felt guilty enjoying herself after a funeral, and they toasted "to little Jonah." Carly revealed that Sonny had told her about the Croton mess, and Jason insisted to a worried Carly that he and Sonny were handling it. She nagged him more about it, but Jason thought their best option was to wait and watch, "for now." She reminded him that bad situations always got worse.
Carly approached Lucy and Kevin and apologized for interrupting, but Lucy assured Carly that she and Kevin had finished their conversation. When Lucy was gone, Kevin thanked Jason for helping Carly, even if his method had been "unorthodox." Carly thanked Kevin for being "kind and fair," but she wondered what had happened to the patient next door to her. He assured her that he was getting the "best care possible," since the entire Ferncliff staff had been replaced.
Carly told Jason that Kevin wanted her to return to therapy, but he didn't think she needed it. She agreed, but she'd wanted to hear Jason say it too. She felt guilty that her next-door neighbor was stuck at Ferncliff, but Jason reminded her that there were people there who actually were "sick and dangerous." She was grateful for Kevin's help, because she thought she would have ended up worse off without it. She trusted that he had her best interests at heart.
8/24 Carly and Jason played a game of pool at the Floating Rib while Drew and Margaux sat at a nearby table. "Michael needs all the support we can give him," Carly declared. She revealed that she was also in despair over Mike, although she didn't think there was a need to put him in a memory care facility just yet. She wanted Sonny to build some new memories with his father. Carly showed Jason the photo of Drew and Margaux kissing that had been featured in the Invader. Carly noted that Drew appeared to be getting over Sam.
Carly and Jason sat at a table, and both admitted they had a bad feeling about the district attorney. Jason noted that she had been trying to go after Sonny. He was aware that Drew was familiar with every job that Jason had ever done for Sonny, and Carly was shocked. "That little bitch is looking for evidence against you?" she asked Jason.
Jason sidled up to the bar alongside Drew and reminded him that he'd warned Drew that Margaux was out to get Sonny. He expected that she would use anybody in order to find out what she wanted. Drew admitted that she wanted him to "flip" on Jason, and she'd been working hard at it.
Margaux took the opportunity to head over to Carly's table to tell her that she was looking good. She was sorry about Carly's grandchild and admitted that while she hated injustice, she also hated people who used loopholes and the like to get around the law.
Carly rose and declared that she hated women who used sex to get information because it sent the wrong message, especially in light of the #metoo movement. Carly suggested that perhaps it was just a coincidence that Margaux had been with Drew. Jason and Drew returned to the table, and Margaux suggested that they grab a table for the four of them. The others looked at her silently. "Or not," Margaux said.
Carly and Jason sat back down. Carly decided that Drew would be able to take care of himself, especially because he had Jason's knowledge and skills. Jason clarified that Drew would have to know how to use them. "Knowing it and knowing how to use it are two different things," he declared. Carly revealed that she'd called Margaux out, and Jason looked at her. Carly sighed.
Carly admitted that she'd flirted to get what she'd wanted in the past, too. Jason assured her that he wasn't worried, especially with Diane handling the legal issues of the business. He didn't believe that Drew wanted to help Margaux. Jason wanted to play another round of pool, but Carly insisted she had to get home.
8/27 Kristina debated whether or not to push her flight out of Port Charles back, and Sam wondered if Kristina wanted to go back to Parker. Kristina explained that everything with Parker had happened so fast; Parker was feeling fulfilled in her life, but Kristina was lonely. Sam observed that Kristina was making all the sacrifices, and Kristina wondered if loving each other was enough. "Come home," Sam suggested.
Kristina didn't want Alexis to feel justified in fighting Kristina and Parker's relationship, but Sam informed her that Alexis loved her regardless. She advised Kristina to follow her heart. "Like you did?" Kristina asked. Sam replied that Kristina needed to be honest with herself and her loved ones.
As Carly and Jason returned to the house, they heard the security alarm blaring as well as yelling from the living room. Jason burst into the room with his gun drawn and found Mike yelling, just as an armed guard popped in through the terrace and an armed Sonny appeared over the upstairs railing. Sonny yelled that it was a false alarm, and he asked the guard to turn the alarm off. Carly comforted Mike as Sonny instructed him not to push the alarm unless there was danger. Mike stammered that he'd seen someone on the terrace, but Jason replied that the security detail did a "visual inspection" every day at sunset.
Carly wanted some tea and invited Mike into the kitchen with her. When they were gone, Sonny told Jason that Mike was staying there because it was supposed to be safe. Jason assured him that they would just need to adjust the security at the house. Carly and Mike returned, and Mike apologized for the commotion.
Jason invited Mike outside for some fresh air, so they went out on the terrace. Mike figured that Sonny and Carly were talking about him because he'd messed up again. He lamented that he'd abandoned his son as a child only to become a burden to him later in life.
**The End**
