Steve's Return #1 (or fits as Jason & Sam #35) September 14 - November 17, 2017: 8 hour original edit

DVD #1A 9/14 In St. Petersburg, Russia, Ava followed Larisa into a sun room as Larisa gave Ava a tour of the Boronsky Clinic. Ava wanted to know when she would meet the doctor, but Larisa would only answer, "Soon." Ava was frustrated because the longer she waited, the more time Valentin had to swindle her. Ava threatened to leave, but Larisa warned her that Dr. Boronsky was in high demand and didn't appreciate having his time wasted.

Ava didn't care because her time was valuable, too, so Larisa suggested that Ava relax and get herself acclimated while Larisa checked to see if Ava's room was ready. Ava agreed, but she wouldn't wait forever. Larisa empathized because she knew that Ava was anxious. Larisa promised to do everything possible to help minimize the stress and help Ava through the process, but first she needed Ava's cell phone. Ava balked, but Larisa explained that it was the clinic's policy to protect the privacy of all the patients.

According to Larisa, several of the patients didn't want anyone to find out where they were then pointedly added that the clinic preferred minimal government interference. Ava reluctantly relinquished the cell phone, but Larisa was confident that Ava would find the experience "liberating." Larisa advised Ava to take the time to evaluate who in her life was vital to Ava's well-being and who wasn't.

After Larisa left, Ava wandered past some tall plants to look out the window, but she sensed someone behind her. She was startled when she noticed a male patient in a wheelchair, hidden in front of the plants. A hooded sweatshirt covered his head, and his face was hidden behind a dark mask and sunglasses.

Ava tried to strike up a conversation with the patient, but he remained silent as he appeared to stare out the window. Ava was unsettled by the sight and made a mental note to talk to the doctor because she didn't want to be "doped into oblivion" like the patient. Ava looked out the window. Ava didn't notice the patient clench his hand into a fist when she mentioned Port Charles as she talked about the view.

Moments later, Larisa entered the sunroom and panicked when she realized that Ava had been talking to the patient. Larisa dragged Ava away from the man then warned Ava never to get near "Patient 6" again because he was a "dangerous psychotic." Larissa claimed that the mask was a safety precaution, but Ava demanded to know why a dangerous patient had been left unattended in the sunroom. Larisa promised that he'd been heavily sedated, so he couldn't stand or leave the chair, but it wasn't safe to get too close to him.

Larisa explained that the patient had been a victim of a "terrible violent crime," but Ava was curious why he was in the clinic. Larisa revealed that the patient's wealthy family had hoped that Dr. Boronsky could rehabilitate him. However, Larisa was skeptical because she thought the patient's problems were beyond Dr. Boronsky's considerable skills. Larisa confided that the patient had been shot then had fallen into open water, which had caused the psychotic break.

9/15 At the hospital, Sam dreamed that she was calling out to Jason on the dock, but she couldn't get him to respond. She woke up with a start. She was still sitting at his bedside. Elizabeth found Monica and handed her the results of Jason's latest tests. Sonny walked over and offered his help to Monica, but she resisted and blamed him for Jason's fate.

Spinelli surprised Sam and said hello to the comatose Jason. He suggested that Sam rest because she looked exhausted. Sam explained that she was unable to sleep, and even if she did, she kept having the same dream of Jason was slipping away from her. Spinelli tried to stay positive.

9/18 Ava approached Patient 6 and asked if he'd been sitting in front of the window all night. She wondered if his family visited or missed him. She supposed no one was missing her. Just then, Larisa burst into the room and snatched Ava away from the man. Larisa grabbed a ringing phone out of her pocket, and Ava recognized it as her own. Before Ava could see that it was Griffin calling her, Larisa rejected the call. Larisa said that Ava needed to focus on her procedure. Ava reminded Larisa that she didn't know anything about her procedure, and she hadn't even met Dr. Boronsky.

"There's no time like the present," said a man as he entered the room. He introduced himself as the infamous Dr. Boronsky. He'd heard that Ava was skeptical, and he assured her that he could help her like he'd helped Larisa. As the doctor joked that Valentin had warned him that his work was cut out for him, Patient 6 clenched his fist.

Ava wondered if Dr. Boronsky had known any other Cassadines. He replied that he only knew the reputations of the family members. Ava admitted that she had gotten close to one member of the family who was an exception to the rule. She asked when her procedure would be. Dr. Boronsky asked Larisa to prepare an exam room so that he could evaluate Ava's condition.

When Larisa was gone, Dr. Boronsky sat with Ava. He warned her that he only promised to fix her face, but she would have to find happiness elsewhere. He offered to answer any questions she had, and she took the opportunity to ask about Patient 6. He scolded her for asking about another patient and would only say that the patient was a "dangerous psychopath." She agreed not to ask any more questions about other patients, and the two left the room.

9/19 Outside Jason's hospital room, Sonny revealed to Carly that Jason would soon be moved to a long-term care facility. Carly was saddened by the news, but she was curious where Sam was, so he explained that Sam and Alexis had gone to check out the facility. Carly hoped it would help Sam but thought the entire situation was unfair.

Carly and Sonny entered Jason's hospital room as Carly expressed her frustration that she couldn't make their friend wake up. Sonny tried to comfort his wife, but she admitted that she'd been struggling because she was constantly reminded of when Michael had been in a coma. Sonny recalled how much Jason had helped them during that difficult time.

Sonny and Carly talked about how they'd nearly lost Jason. Carly admitted that she no longer knew Jason the way she once had. Sonny conceded that there had been a time when he wouldn't have wondered if Jason would show up at the warehouse; he would have depended on Jason to. Carly added that nothing would have kept Jason away. Sonny realized that things were different because Jason had a choice.

Sonny and Carly believed that Jason's willingness to leave Sonny's organization indicated just how much Jason had changed since his return. Carly wanted to honor their best friend, but she had no idea how to do it. Sonny reminded her that it was not their decision to make, they could only hope that Jason woke up and told them what his wishes were for the next time. Carly glanced at Jason and warned him that there'd better not be a next time because she didn't want Jason to leave them again.

When Sonny and Carly returned to Jason's hospital room. Carly confessed that she'd been grieving for Sam, Scout, and Danny but not for herself because she'd never really gotten back the connection that she'd once shared with Jason.

At the Boronsky Clinic in St. Petersburg, Russia, Ava slipped into the sunroom, where the mystery patient was seated in a wheelchair. His face remained hidden behind a black mask and dark sunglasses. Ava admitted that the silent man didn't seem dangerous, since he didn't even move. She acknowledged that she'd been warned to stay out of his reach, including by Dr. Boronsky, who didn't seem the type to scare easily. Ava talked about her consultation, which she believed had gone well. She wasn't certain because everyone seemed tightlipped, especially about the mystery patient.

Ava had no idea why she'd believed the story she'd been told about the mystery patient because he could just as easily have been there for the same reason that she was, but something had gone wrong with the patient. Ava was horrified at the thought of being left in the same vegetative state as the mystery patient, but she quickly apologized because she realized that it had been insensitive. Ava confided that something about the clinic gave her the "creeps" because, despite the luxurious accommodations and smiling staff, it felt like a prison. The man's hand curled into a fist.

Ava decided that she was overreacting because she and the patient were in an oasis where they had been promised their "million-to-one shot." She realized that her doubts were a result of nerves because she didn't think she deserved to have her scars fixed. She wondered why she should be made beautiful again if her outside didn't match the inside. Ava looked at the mystery patient and wondered who he'd been before he'd become a "dangerous psychotic" who stared out the window. She was also curious if he had people who loved him, waiting for him to return.

Ava admitted that she had two children, but she barely saw her younger daughter because the child's father had kept her away from Ava. Ava acknowledged that she had a dark past filled with terrible transgressions and crimes, which was why only three people in the world loved her -- Ava's brother and two daughters. Ava began to talk about her friendship with Nikolas, but the mystery patient suddenly grabbed her wrist when he heard Nikolas' name. Startled, Ava asked the patient to release her then added that he was hurting her. The man let go just as a nurse entered the sunroom.

The nurse was startled when she saw Ava with the patient and quickly dragged Ava away as she explained that the man was dangerous. Ava was curious if the woman knew Nikolas Cassadine because the patient had had a strong reaction when he had heard the name, but the nurse shook her head and claimed that she only knew of Valentin Cassadine.

Ava was shocked when the nurse revealed that the mystery patient had been kept in restraints until recently, but he'd likely be restrained again as well as heavily medicated when the nurse reported the incident. Ava begged the nurse to reconsider because the man was not to blame for Ava ignoring the warnings. The nurse agreed, but she warned Ava not to let it happen again. After Ava and the nurse left, the patient removed his sunglasses. He had Jason Morgan's familiar piercing blue gaze.

9/21 Sam and Sonny talked in the waiting room. Sam realized that Sonny's plan to retire had been put on hold, but he wasn't comfortable talking to Sam about it. Sam assured Sonny that it was okay because Jason had refused to share information with Sam that might make her an accessory, but that had been before.

"Before what?" Sonny asked. Sam quietly explained that life had been different since Jason had returned to her. According to Sam, she had talked to Dr. Maddox about how different things had been with Jason. She reminded Sonny that she and Jason had previously been a "ride or die" couple, but they had stopped living their life like every day was their last.

Instead, Sam and Jason lived their lives like they had a future. Sonny pointed out that children had a way of doing that to people. Sam agreed then admitted that she finally had the life that she had always wanted, and she didn't want to let it go. Sonny felt responsible for Sam's situation, but he assured her that he would rectify it and make things right. Sonny returned to Jason's room with Sam. She tearfully looked at her husband then told Sonny that she wasn't ready to give up on him. "None of us are," Sonny promised.

At the Boronsky Clinic in St. Petersburg, Russia, Ava entered the solarium where the mystery patient was seated in the wheelchair. She was startled when she realized that his sunglasses had been removed and that she could see his blue eyes, but his gaze remained vacant. Ava confessed that she had convinced herself that he was Nikolas Cassadine because of the way he had reacted to hearing Nikolas' name.

Ava shared that she'd told herself it was possible that Nikolas had landed in the ocean after he'd been shot and that Valentin's men had fished Nikolas out of the water then taken him to the clinic. Ava admitted that she had hoped that Nikolas was alive and that she'd been the one who had found him because then it wouldn't matter so much that she had sold out his memory for a chance at a new face.

Ava apologized to the patient because the staff had warned her that talking to him would only make him worse. Ava walked across the room to fetch a drink of water as the man's blue gaze followed her. Moments later, a doctor entered the solarium and introduced himself to Ava as Dr. Richard Klein. Dr. Klein explained that Dr. Boronsky had referred her case to him, but Ava objected because Valentin had promised her that Dr. Boronsky could help her. Dr. Klein assured Ava that he was more qualified than Dr. Boronsky to deal with Ava's particular injuries. He promised that he could restore her face, but it would take time.

A nurse entered the solarium to give the mystery patient an injection. Ava was curious what the patient was being given, so the doctor explained that it was a tranquilizer because the patient needed to remain heavily sedated at all times, since the man was a danger to himself and others. Ava wondered in what way, prompting the doctor to claim that the man had suffered a psychosis that made him perceive everything as a danger to himself. Dr. Klein added that the patient was a formidable fighter, but a tranquilizer had seemed kinder than 24-hour restraints. Ava was curious if Dr. Klein could help the man, but the doctor questioned Ava's interest.

Ava claimed that she was merely trying to distract herself from her anxiety over the reconstructive surgery. Just then, the nurse passed by after giving the patient an injection. Ava was stunned when she realized that the man had been given an entire vial of ketamine. She questioned why the patient had been injected with a horse tranquilizer, but the doctor advised her to find another distraction, or she would have to leave. Ava promised that it wouldn't be a problem.

Later, Ava returned to the solarium just as the mystery patient tried to stand up. He immediately dropped into his wheelchair and resumed his vacant stare. She was amazed that he was still conscious after receiving a large dose of tranquilizer, but she wasn't fooled by his ruse and threatened to tell the doctors exactly what was going on. The man glared at Ava. Ava smiled then assured him that he need not worry because she would be giving herself away if she admitted that she'd checked on the patient after being warned to keep her distance. However, she wanted a promise from him.

Ava asked that the mystery patient not go after her if he decided to go on a rampage through the clinic. "You owe me," she reminded him. The man nodded his agreement. Satisfied, Ava started to leave the solarium, but she heard a cell phone ring. She quickly hid behind the door as Dr. Klein approached the door then stopped to answer his phone. He assured the caller that "the situation" was unchanged, and there hadn't been any trouble. However, he warned the caller that the man was not superhuman, so Dr. Klein couldn't give the man more medication without killing him. After the call, Dr. Klein walked away. Ava silently slipped out of the room while the mystery patient managed to lift himself out of the wheelchair enough to put some weight on one foot.

9/22 At the clinic in Russia, Ava was shocked to find Patient 6 getting up out of his wheelchair. She wondered whether she should tell someone or not. She decided she'd get into trouble for being with him, though. She mentioned that she'd overheard Klein on a phone call, talking about giving Patient 6 more drugs versus more restraints. It was obvious to her that the drugs weren't working.

Ava revealed that she was aware of why Patient 6 had ended up in the clinic. She thought that the man's family should know his condition, since they had obviously placed him in the clinic for care. The man shook his head. "Do you have a family?" Yes, the man nodded.

"Do they know you're here?" The man shook his head no. Ava asked who had put him there, and she wanted answers. She found a pad of paper and a pen and handed them to the man. She advised him to start with his name but he did not write anything. She wondered if his desire to be left alone had been working for him, and she warned him that his drug dosage would be increased.

After Ava told the man not to waste his last coherent moments, he picked up the pen and wrote. He handed the paper back to her, and the only thing written was a phone number. Ava realized that it was a Port Charles phone number.

Betsy admits to Franco that, ”There was a twin," she said, "but he wasn't your twin. He was Jason’s.”

9/25 Betsy’ explained to Franco that Susan Moore had two babies and kept the and Susan was unable to handle two children while on the run. The Quartermaines were not aware that Susan had had twins, and Jason, who was the first-born, went home with Susan while Betsy kept the second son. Franco suddenly recalled that his name had been Drew.

In St. Petersburg, Ava wondered what to do with the phone number in Port Charles that Patient 6 had given to her. She asked if she should tell someone that a violent, psychotic person with blue eyes wanted them. The patient nodded his head yes. She asked if he really thought that someone would fly to Russia to get him. Again the patient nodded yes. Ava reminded him that she had no phone. She asked for his name and handed the paper back to him.

A nurse walked in followed by Dr. Klein. They learned that the mystery patient had a pen in his hand. "Stupid bitch," the doctor raged at Ava. The patient stood up and removed his headpiece. The doctor ordered him to sit down as orderlies arrived to put the patient in his place. Patient 6 fought all three of the orderlies until the doctor injected him with a drug. The patient sank to the floor.

The doctor ordered his men to take the patient up to his room and double restrain him. They dragged the patient out, and the doctor turned to Ava. He demanded to know how the man had gotten a pen. Ava was sorry, and the doctor reminded her that she'd been ordered to stay away from the man.

Ava didn't believe the patient would hurt her, but the doctor thought that she had been lucky to get away from him. He asked if Ava had been trying to communicate with Patient 6. She reluctantly pulled the piece of paper from her pocket and handed it to him. The doctor looked at the paper and told her that she needed to follow orders if she didn't want to remain deformed for the rest of her life. She was to have no contact with Patient 6.

The doctor arrived to his patient's room and told the orderlies to leave. He looked over the sedated and doubly secured patient. Shortly after, Sonny received a phone call. There seemed to be no one on the other end.

9/26 At Pozullo's, Sonny was in his back office when the phone rang. He picked it up, but he was met with silence on the other end. Sonny sensed that someone was listening, so he tried to persuade the caller to speak, with no response Sonny ended the call, but he was concerned about it because the call had been to his private number that only a few people in his inner circle knew. Brick suggested that it might have been the wrong number, but Sonny asked Brick to look into it because Sonny refused to take any chances after what had happened with Petrov.

Later, Griffin entered Sonny's office. Sonny warmly greeted his friend, but Griffin nervously explained that he had a favor to ask. Griffin conceded that it might be awkward for Sonny, but Sonny was a powerful man with extensive resources at his disposal that might help find someone who wished to remain hidden.

Sonny was curious who Griffin needed help finding, but Brick entered the office to give Sonny an update on what he'd uncovered about the phone number. Brick revealed that the call had originated from St. Petersburg. Griffin says that Ava Jerome might be who called him from St. Petersberg. Sonny asked Brick to look into it. Griffin shared what he knew about the clinic's founder.

At the Boronsky Clinic in St. Petersburg, Russia, Dr. Klein held the phone receiver to his ear as he listened to Sonny on the other end. After Sonny ended the call, Dr. Klein looked at the unconscious masked patient and wondered who he was to Sonny, and what the masked patient thought Sonny could do for him.

Ava froze when she heard someone in the hallway. She quietly went to the door then cracked it open as she heard Dr. Klein on the phone talking to someone about the masked mystery patient. Dr. Klein insisted that someone fetch the patient in the morning because the man was too dangerous. Dr. Klein agreed to keep the patient sedated, but he warned the person on the phone that the increased doses of tranquilizer might stop the patient's heart.

After Dr. Klein walked away, Ava sneaked into the mystery patient's room. She was shocked when she saw him handcuffed and shackled to his bed. He appeared to be asleep as she approached him then expressed her regret that she hadn't helped him when she'd had the opportunity. She admitted that she'd given Dr. Klein the piece of paper with the phone number on it then apologized for "ratting" the patient out to the doctor. She wished that she could make it up to the patient. "You can," he quietly said as he opened his eyes.

Ava stunned that the masked patient had been awake and that he could speak, but she wondered why he'd hidden it from her. She realized that it was because he didn't trust her. Ava had no idea who he was, but it was clear that he had a connection to Port Charles. However, she explained that she'd given up a lot to be at the clinic.

The masked patient remained silent, but his eyes filled with judgement, prompting Ava to lean close so he could get a close look at how the fire had destroyed her face. She admitted that people were embarrassed by her scars and looked away or became tongue-tied around her. Her voice filled with emotion as she talked about how she needed to be close to someone and feel their gentle touch on her cheek again.

Ava was desperate to be healed, and she refused to let anything jeopardize her recovery. The man asked if she truly wanted to make things up to him. She confirmed that she did -- but not at the risk of her own future. She acknowledged that it was selfish of her, but she wasn't a good person. The man was curious if she wanted to be a good person. "Yeah, I think so," Ava admitted. She revealed that there had been someone who had believed that she could change and be a better person, but she insisted that she was a lost cause.

The patient disagreed, she just had to make a choice. He asked her to get him a paperclip, but Ava balked because he intended to use it to unlock his restraints. The masked patient cut her off when he heard someone approach, so he instructed her to hide in the closet. Ava managed to slip into the closet just as Dr. Klein returned. Ava watched as the masked patient pretended to be asleep. Dr. Klein was pleased, but he gave the man another injection of tranquilizer to make certain that the man remained unconscious until the morning.

Dr. Klein was thankful that he'd only have the patient for another 24-hours. He had no idea what "they" intended to do with the patient, but he suspected that they would be disappointed when they realized that the patient had to remain tranquilized. Dr. Klein almost felt sorry for the patient, except the patient was a "pain in the ass."

After Dr. Klein left, Ava quietly approached the bed and whispered to the patient. She was alarmed when she realized that he was unconscious, so she checked for a pulse. Ava relaxed when she felt a weak pulse. She regretted that she hadn't helped him when she'd had the opportunity. She didn't know if he could hear her, but she asked him to hang on because she would return in the morning with a paperclip. After Ava left, the masked patient opened his eyes. He seemed disoriented as he tugged on the wrist and leg restraints.

9/28 At the long-term care facility, Sam entered the room as Sonny admitted that it was a miracle to see Jason sitting up and talking. Sam agreed, so Jason seized the opportunity to discuss something important. Jason loved Sonny, but Jason refused to put Sam and their children through another scare.

Sonny assured Jason that he respected Jason's decision to leave the business, and he appreciated everything that Jason had done for him. Jason was grateful for Sonny's support, but Jason explained that it would be best for him to take a step back from Sonny because Jason needed to focus on being the man that Sam and the children deserved. Jason didn't want his children pointing to his picture on the mantel and talking about their father who had died.

Jason doubted that he could truly break ties unless he put distance between himself and Sonny because Jason always ended up being pulled back in. Jason acknowledged that he had allowed it to happen because it was exciting, but that had to change. Sam explained that she and Jason just wanted a chance to focus on their family. Sonny wished both Sam and Jason all the happiness in the world because they deserved it.

Later, Carly arrived. She smiled as she rushed to Jason's side and hugged him. He assured her that he was done dodging bullets and that his recent brush with death had given him the incentive to change. Carly was pleased, but she sensed that Jason was trying to tell her something. Sonny explained that the only way for Jason to start his new life was to walk away from Sonny and Carly. Carly frowned and started to object, but Jason admitted that he'd been straddling both worlds for quite some time. Jason insisted that it had to end because he wanted to be there for Sam and the children. Jason hoped that Sonny found a way out, but Jason couldn't help him.

Sam assured both Sonny and Carly that Jason had made the decision without any pressure from her. Moments later, Elizabeth and Monica arrived. Monica warmly embraced her son then kissed him. "Don't you dare do something like this again," Monica scolded Jason as Sam and Elizabeth exchanged smiles. Sonny and Carly slipped into the hallway to give Jason time alone with Monica, Sam, and Elizabeth. Carly was sad because she would miss the way things had been with Jason, but she acknowledged that he'd been pulling away from her and Sonny for quite some time.

Carly shifted gears and told Sonny about her talk with Sharon Grant and about Michael's decision to skip Bobbie's party. Carly feared that Nelle had already gotten to Michael, but Sonny assured Carly that Michael was his own man. He acknowledged that Michael was kind and always gave people the benefit of the doubt, but Michael was also practical and smart. Sonny was confident that if Michael were pushed too far, and Nelle showed her true colors, then Michael would break things off with Nelle. "Not if it's too late," Carly worried.

9/29 As Elizabeth and Jake visit Jason. Jason questions Liz about a picture of Franco and a boy that looks just like Jason at that age. Little Jake shows Jason a picture of him at that age and observes it is like “they could be twins”!

Ava gasped awake with the bandages still on her face. Dr. Klein entered her room and made sure that she was all right. She admitted to having had some bad dreams, and he assured her that he would prescribe a sleep aid for her. He wanted her well rested before her next procedure. When he was gone, she got dressed and told herself that she needed to focus on herself and not meddle in Patient 6's affairs.

Patient 6 was unconscious in bed as a nurse checked his vitals. Dr. Klein thought that the patient was lucky to be alive after all the tranquilizers he'd been given. The doctor set the patient's file down on the bed. Patient 6 stealthily stretched out his fingers and grabbed a paper clip off of the file as Klein expressed how he couldn't wait for the patient to be transferred out. He instructed the nurse to make a copy of the patient's records and make sure to leave no trace that he had ever been there.

When Klein and the nurse were gone, Patient 6 opened his eyes and began to straighten the paper clip out. A short while later, he attempted to pick the lock of the cuff on his wrist. He dropped the paper clip, and someone picked it up off the ground. He looked up and saw Ava holding it. She gave it back, and he thanked her. She couldn't believe that a paper clip could get him out of the cuffs, but she watched as he got the cuffs off from around both wrists and both ankles. He hopped off the bed and demanded that Ava go back to her room, because he was going home.

Ava wondered what he was going to do about money, a passport, or clothes to start. He muttered that he would figure it out. He heard people outside the room and ushered Ava into the bathroom. He hid behind the door as a man entered the room. When the door shut behind the man, the patient attacked the man, and they struggled until the man finally succumbed to the patient.

Ava emerged from the bathroom and found the man on the bed in place of Patient 6. "Who the hell are you?" Ava wondered in disbelief. The patient checked the man's pocket and found that there was no cash and no passport. Ava commented on various things the patient had to worry about while he tried to leave, but the patient wasn't worried. She wished him luck and started toward the door. He stopped her and said, "I owe you." She left the room, and he removed his muzzle.

Dr. Klein and a nurse entered Patient 6's room and saw a strange man in the patient's bed. He demanded that the nurse call security as he dialed a number into his phone. He said into the phone that Patient 6 was on the loose, so everyone needed to be on high alert. He picked up the muzzle from the floor and exclaimed that they couldn't let Patient 6 get outside. Somewhere in the clinic, Patient 6 ran cautiously through the halls.

10/2 In Patient 6's empty room, Dr. Klein told someone on the phone that he needed two experienced military men “now.” Patient 6 cautiously ran up a set of stairs to an alley. He encountered a priest, who wondered why he had no shoes. The patient answered that he'd had to leave, noting that the place he'd left wasn't good. He wondered if the priest knew where the nearest train station was.

The priest suggested that the patient go with him to the church to get some shoes and a jacket, as he believed God had sent him there to help the stranger. Patient 6 reluctantly followed the priest. Patient 6 followed the priest into the church, and the priest showed him to a hiding place at his request. Just then, someone entered the church, and the priest approached the man to lead him away from the patient.

The man asked the priest if he could use the church to pray. The priest welcomed him there but warned the man that he had to lock up the church in a few minutes. The priest assured the man that God would send relief for his troubles, and he walked away.

As Patient 6 watched, Griffin sat down on a pew and closed his eyes to pray. The patient approached Griffin and identified himself as another American. He asked Griffin for a favor, and Griffin wanted to help. He wondered if he could use Griffin's phone to make a call. Griffin handed his phone to the patient, who hadn't seen a smartphone before. Griffin assured the patient that he could take his time, and the patient walked away with the phone.

10/3 At the long-term care facility, Jason's phone rang. He answered it to a silent Patient 6. "Who is this?" Jason demanded as we see a split screen of the two Jasons! Patient 6 was on the other end and asked who Jason was, but Jason demanded to know who the caller was. Patient 6 started to speak, but the call was abruptly disconnected.

A subdued Sam explained to Jason that she feared that she might have messed up. She acknowledged that she'd been telling him that they needed to live a danger-free life because they had children, but she also recalled that danger made Jason tick. It had been "literally" like breathing for him. Sam didn't want Jason to cage up that part of his soul just to make her happy because she knew that he would end up dying inside.

Jason reminded Sam that he'd nearly died twice in the past five years then admitted that he'd heard her crying and his children's voices during the four weeks he'd lingered in a coma. He'd been frustrated because he hadn't been able to comfort them, and he didn't want to experience that feeling again, but Sam promised that he didn't have to change for her. Jason explained that, when he'd returned to her, he'd made a mistake by trying to pick up his life where he'd left off instead of focusing on moving forward.

Jason admitted that his old life no longer fit him. He conceded that Sonny would always be his friend, but Sonny no longer owned him. Jason insisted that his days of taking unnecessary risks were over because Sam and the children were more important. Sam recalled when they had first met; she confided he'd been the first person -- besides her brother, Danny -- to give her the benefit of the doubt. Jason had made her want to tell the truth, and he'd made her feel safe. "Sonny's enforcer," she added. Jason wondered if she wanted him to return to work for Sonny, but Sam shook her head.

Sam clarified that she didn't want Jason to deny who he was just to make her happy, but Jason assured her that he hadn't. He acknowledged that there had been a time when living on the edge had fuel him and had made him feel alive, but that was about him. Things had changed when he'd become a husband and a father. He had realized that it was time for him to be a "real man" and to honor his responsibilities. He promised that he wanted to focus on their family and enjoy what they had. Jason also vowed to always protect her. "I want to be your man," Jason added as he pulled Sam close then entwined his fingers with hers. "Okay," Sam said, but her expression remained troubled.

In St. Petersburg, Russia, Patient 6 ended his call to Sam when he heard a door close by. He ducked out of sight just as two burly men entered the church and approached Griffin while Griffin's head was bowed in prayer. The men described Patient 6 then asked if Griffin had seen him. Griffin revealed that he had, but he claimed the man had taken off when he'd seen Griffin. The men asked what direction the patient had fled in, but Griffin admitted that he hadn't paid attention. After the two men left, Patient 6 emerged from hiding and thanked Griffin.

Patient 6 returned the phone to Griffin, so Griffin seized the opportunity to ask the patient directions to the clinic that he'd escaped from. Griffin revealed that he was looking for someone. Patient 6 gave Griffin directions then wished him luck. Grateful, Griffin handed Patient 6 money then left. Moments later, the Russian priest returned with a change of clothes and shoes for Patient 6. Patient 6 was surprised by the priest's generosity, but the priest insisted that it was his duty as a servant of God.

The priest was curious if there was anything else that he could help Patient 6 with, so Patient 6 admitted that he needed to get back home, but he didn't have a passport. The priest told Patient 6 to wait then disappeared into the back of the church. Patient 6 changed into the clothes that he'd been given then sat down to pray to God.

He thanked God for getting him as far as He had then begged God to get him home to his family and to keep his family safe until he could return to them. Patient 6 ducked out of sight when he heard the doors slam closed, but the priest called out that it was safe. The priest revealed that he had a better option than a train for Patient 6 to travel on, but he was curious where Patient 6 was headed.

10/4 In St. Petersburg, Patient 6 stood in a church and assured the priest that he had money to pay for a train ticket, but the priest thought that Patient 6 had a better chance of traveling, without papers, to America on a ship. The priest introduced Patient 6 to a cargo ship's captain who had agreed to give passage to Patient 6. Patient 6 offered to pay, but the priest assured him that it wasn't necessary because they were doing it out of kindness. Patient 6 wanted the priest to have the money, but the priest declined because he suspected that the patient had a greater need for it.

Moments later, men pounded on the church doors then demanded entrance. They explained that they were looking for an escaped mental patient. The priest urged Patient 6 to leave, but Patient 6 worried that the men would tear up the church, looking for him, then turn their attention on the priest when they failed to find him. The priest refused to have any violence in his church and made it clear that he wanted Patient 6 to leave with the ship's captain. Reluctantly, Patient 6 left. The priest opened the doors then invited the two men to look for the patient.

Later, the ship's captain led Patient 6 to a storage room in the hull of the ship. He instructed Patient 6 to remain out of sight. Patient 6 agreed, but he was curious where in America the ship was headed. "New York," the captain answered. After the captain left, Patient 6 listened at the door. Seconds later, a man silently approached from behind then attacked, but Patient 6 avoided a blow to the head as he sprang into action to defend himself.

10/6 Patient 6 exercised in his hiding space on the ship. Suddenly, a man began to moan. He was tied to the chair and couldn't remember how he'd gotten there. He demanded to be released, but Patient 6 explained that he couldn't untie the man, as he'd attacked Patient 6 with an iron pipe. The man apologized. He thought that Patient 6 had been one of the nasty men he'd been trying to avoid after a failed business endeavor.

The man introduced himself as Huxley Lynch and made some references to current events that Patient 6 didn't understand. The Brit figured that Patient 6 had been living under a rock and might be unknowledgeable due to being an American. Patient 6 agreed that the man could temporarily stretch. Lynch begged for permanent freedom, but Patient 6 was loath to trust him. Lynch suggested that his captor look into his bag and help himself.

Patient 6 picked up the newspaper from inside Lynch's bag. He was shocked to see the date on it and asked if it could be correct. Lynch joked that the paper was a week old, but Patient 6 could barely believe it. "Are you telling me it's 2017?" he asked incredulously.

10/9 Jason called Pentonville in order to arrange a call with Julian. He instructed them to tell Julian that Jason Morgan wanted to speak with him. When he was off the phone, there was a knock on the door. Jason was happy to answer it to Curtis, who was glad to see Jason home. Curtis offered to treat Jason to Noodle Buddha at their next stakeout, and Jason accepted, minus the stakeout.

"Do what you gotta do for the ones you love," Curtis said respectfully. He offered his services if Jason needed anything, and Jason confided that he could need Curtis "sooner rather than later." He told Curtis about Franco's strange comments. Just then, his phone rang, and he saw that it was Pentonville. Curtis took the cue and excused himself. Jason answered the phone to Julian.

"You won't regret this," Jason said as he got off the phone with Julian, just as Sam entered. She wondered what the call had been about, but he just attributed it to her surprise. He promised everything would be out in the open as soon as he returned from New York. She refused to let him go unless he adhered to two "non-negotiable conditions." First, she wanted to go with him, and second, she needed him to get the green light for travel from a doctor. He agreed and kissed her.

In the hold of the ship, Patient 6 looked in shock at Huxley's newspaper. The patient took Huxley's phone out of his bag and saw the same year on the phone. He couldn't believe that five years had passed. He asked Huxley to unlock the phone. Huxley asked to be untied. The patient warned him not to try anything, and Huxley promised, noting his knack for "self-preservation." The patient untied Huxley, who unlocked his phone. The patient demanded to see things that had date stamps on the phone. Huxley wondered why the date was so important. The patient revealed that he'd run into trouble and lost track of time.

After searching through the phone, Patient 6 determined that nothing on the phone was fake, and there was no way Huxley could have set something like that up. He paced then went to the door. Huxley anxiously reminded the patient that he was a stowaway and would be detained if he was found. The patient explained that he needed time outside to think, but Huxley advised him to think "in here." The patient stoically left the room.

10/10 Franco thanked Elizabeth for not telling Jason about his twin, but Elizabeth admitted that she hadn't done it for Franco, that she had done it for Jason. She reminded Franco that she and Jason shared a child, but she conceded that it hadn't been the right time to tell Jason about Andrew. Elizabeth thought that Jason should hear the story from Franco and she insisted that Jason needed to be told that he had a twin brother who died.

On the Russian freighter bound for New York, Patient 6 returned to the storage room. Huxley Lynch was nowhere to be seen in the dark room, so Patient 6 flipped on the light then approached a stack of boxes. He pounded on the top of one of the boxes as he assured Huxley that the coast was clear. Startled, Huxley emerged from his hiding spot and angrily accused Patient 6 of nearly scaring him to death. Huxley was curious how Patient 6 had found his hiding spot under the blankets, prompting Patient 6 to admit that he'd seen Huxley move.

Huxley reminded Patient 6 that they couldn't afford to be caught because Patient 6 didn't have papers. Huxley was also reluctant to return to Russia because he didn't want his Russian associates to find him until he could pay them back. Huxley assured Patient 6 that the problem would be rectified soon because Huxley had shipped a valuable painting to New York, which he intended to sell for enough money to pay off his associates and replenish his own pockets. Huxley remained concerned that someone had seen Patient 6 wandering around, but Patient 6 assured Huxley that he'd remained out of sight.

Huxley wondered how Patient 6 could be certain, so Patient 6 revealed that he'd been on plenty of freighters because he was a coffee importer. Huxley appeared skeptical, but Patient 6 didn't elaborate. Frustrated, Huxley complained about his circumstances because he was stuck on a freighter instead of a first-class flight or cruise with a bar and people to talk to. Patient 6 was curious what Huxley wanted to talk about. "Anything," Huxley answered then asked if Patient 6 knew how to speak in complex sentences. Huxley was curious if Patient 6 had anyone waiting for him.

"I don't know," Patient 6 quietly replied. Huxley realized that conversation was not his traveling companion's forte, so he suggested they play cards. To Huxley's delight, Patient 6 agreed. Huxley fetched a deck of cards from his bag then suggested they make a small wager. Later, Huxley was stunned when Patient 6 won another round of poker. Huxley accused Patient 6 of counting cards, but Patient 6 pointed out that Huxley's deck of cards had been marked.

Huxley denied it, but Patient 6 showed him the proof on one of the cards. Shocked, Huxley was curious how Patient 6 had known. Patient 6 claimed that he owned shares in a casino. Huxley frowned because Patient 6 had claimed earlier to be a coffee importer. "I'm both," Patient 6 clarified. Huxley felt duped and demanded an opportunity to win back his money.

Huxley decided to wager his lucky watch because it had never failed him in the past. A short time later, Patient 6 won the hand. Huxley was disappointed, but Patient 6 returned the money and the watch because he didn't need either. Huxley jokingly asked if Patient 6 had a secret Swiss account, so Patient 6 revealed that he had several offshore accounts. Huxley was shocked, but he decided that Patient 6 should keep the lucky watch because it appeared that Patient 6 needed some good fortune despite having a Swiss bank account.

10/13 Patient 6 sat at the bar in a pub in New York City. As he looked at a newspaper, he told the bartender that he had been trying to catch up, since he'd been out of the country. She assumed he'd been in the military, but he told her that hadn't been the case. The bar catered to firefighters, but a couple of cops walked in, and Patient 6 asked where he might hide. The bartender directed him, and he quickly escaped.

The "cops" handed the bartender a photo of Patient 6 and explained that he had been an illegal stowaway. The bartender denied having seen him, and she asked to see their badges. The man with an accent handed her some money instead, and the bartender agreed to call if she saw their suspect. After they left, Patient 6 returned, and the bartender insisted that he take the money she had received. He gave her the "lucky" watch he had obtained from Huxley Lynch in return. He had already experienced his luck in meeting the bartender, he said.

Jason and Sam were poised in front of an office in New York City. She had no idea why they were there. "Let's go see our future," Jason said as he dragged her inside. Sam was surprised to see Diane, and she learned that the lawyer had been handling a business transaction for Jason. Even more shocking, Sam learned that Jason intended on purchasing Derek Wells Media.

Diane revealed that someone else had also placed a bid, but Jason had won. She warned Jason that the SEC would be scrutinizing his mob ties. Jason explained that he wanted to start a new and clean life, and he wanted Sam to help him run the company. She agreed readily. He was okay with his life being examined, as he was done with his former life.

Shortly after Patient 6 left the bar, Sam and Jason walked in, ready to celebrate their new purchase. They ordered a bottle of very bad champagne as Jason noted that their lives were about to change. Sam thought they needed an ad campaign to "rebrand," and Jason was impressed. He explained that the opportunity had been there for him to make the purchase. Sam promised to always have only honest news published.

Sam and Jason switched over to beers and, after getting hungry, sauntered up to the bar. The bartender insisted that the food was good. Sam saw the watch sitting on the bar and asked to look at it. She saw "Huxley" inscribed on the watch, and Jason asked where the bartender had obtained it. He showed her a photo of Huxley Lynch. The bartender explained that someone had given it to her, but it definitely hadn't been the man in the photo. Sam wondered what the odds would be that they would know someone in the city.

At a nearby bus station, Patient 6 was ready to board a bus for Port Charles.

10/16 Jason and Sam are back home, Jason admitted that he had a lot to learn, but he knew he would be able to do it. He continued that the best part would be working with Sam and having a legitimate business. Sam advised Jason that if he ever felt trapped, she wanted him to walk away. She wanted him to love his life and they could live whatever life he wanted.

Patient 6 was in Port Charles and sneaked into Sonny's darkened house. He looked around and picked up various framed photographs. Suddenly, he overheard a couple of guards talking about the house being on lockdown and checking around the property again. Patient 6 quickly departed through the same doors through which he'd entered.

Sonny and Carly met up with Jason and Sam at the Metro Court restaurant. Jason ordered Champagne. "You two are looking at the new owners of Derek Wells Media," Jason announced. "Soon to have a new name," he added.

Carly and Sonny were shocked and plied the other couple with questions. Carly thought it was different, but she congratulated them. The couples chatted until Sam recalled that she had forgotten to sign a permission slip for Danny. She needed to get home quickly, but she would return.

Patient 6 knocked on Sam's front door. After getting no answer, he broke in. He shouted Sam's name several times. "Is anybody home?" he called. He picked up a leather jacket and had a flashback to putting the jacket on Sam and saying goodbye. He looked around and saw some toys, including a black motorcycle. He was overwhelmed and ran out onto the balcony. Just then, Sam walked in. Patient 6 watched her through the balcony window.

10/17 In Jason and Sam's penthouse, Patient 6 picked up Sam's leather jacket then held it to his nose and inhaled deeply. He set it back down as he looked around the living room and saw Danny's toy cars and a motorcycle. Seemingly overwhelmed, he rushed out to the balcony for fresh air. Moments later, Sam entered. Patient 6 stood at the door and watched her. He was about to enter the living room when Jason arrived home. Patient 6 stepped back and eavesdropped on Jason and Sam through the door, which remained slightly ajar.

Jason greeted his wife with a kiss and suggested that they continue their celebration upstairs, but Sam pulled away and told him that they needed to go over the bills. Patient 6 tensed when she mentioned paying for Danny's sports camp. Jason assured his wife that it could wait. He pulled her into his arms and reminded her that they had some celebrating to do. Sam smiled then admitted that she couldn't remember the last time she'd been as happy as she was.

Jason recalled their wedding a year earlier when she'd told him that she had spent most of her life learning how to fight for herself and that she hadn't been used to having a partner, someone to trust and count on. Sam was touched that Jason recalled her vows to him. Jason promised that he'd never forget how she'd told him that he hadn't taken away her independence; he'd made her more not less. Sam assured him that she had meant every word.

Jason remembered that she'd told him that the greatest risk for her was to let someone into her heart, but he'd made her want to take that risk again. She had also promised to love him and their family unconditionally. Sam assured him that she'd meant it then kissed her husband. On the balcony, Patient 6's expression filled with pain.

Sam talked about the wedding when she and Jason had been surrounded by family and friends. Patient 6 seemed startled when she talked about treasuring each moment then mentioned that Sonny and Carly had lost Morgan. Jason promised his wife that nothing would happen then kissed her. Sam broke away and smiled seductively at her husband as she suggested they celebrate in their bedroom.

After Jason and Sam went upstairs, Patient 6 quietly entered the living room. He stopped to pick up Sam's leather jacket from the chair and held it for several heartbeats before tossing it on the sofa as her phone slid out of the pocket. He made his way to the door, looked back at the living room, and quietly left.

Later, Sam warned Jason that Alexis planned to stop by, but Jason objected because they were still celebrating. Sam explained that there was a problem with Kristina, but he pointed out that there was always a problem between Alexis and Kristina. Sam became distracted because she had a strange feeling of déjà vu, as if she had left something in one spot, but it had ended up in another. Jason suggested that she was preoccupied with becoming a media mogul overnight, but Sam smiled and reminded him that they were both media moguls.

At the cemetery, Patient 6 approached Morgan's gave then sighed. He had hoped that he'd misheard Sam and her husband. Patient 6 had thought that Morgan had taken off the way that Patient 6 had when he had left the Quartermaines. He recalled how the Quartermaines had always talked about how he'd been lost, but he finally knew what it truly meant. "I lost five years," Patient 6 said as anguish filled his tone.

Patient 6 touched Morgan's headstone as he talked about going to Sonny's and seeing all the photographs. He'd been surprised by how tall Morgan had grown. "Now, you're gone," Patient 6 added. Patient 6 was desperate to know what had happened then mentioned that Morgan had been named after him. Patient 6's sorrow evaporated when he heard a noise behind him. He pulled out his gun then swiftly turned to face the intruder.

Ava gasped with fright when she saw the gun, but Patient 6 recognized her and lowered the gun as he asked when she had returned from Russia. Ava's eyes rounded in recognition when she realized who he was. Patient 6 thanked Ava for helping him in Russia. "You're welcome," Ava replied, but she admitted that it had cost her because she hadn't received her final treatment, and Dr. Klein had tried to kill her.

She explained that a friend had rescued her from the clinic, and they'd flown home later that day. Patient 6 apologized, but she was curious how he had managed to make his way to Port Charles. He admitted that he'd had help, but he didn't elaborate. Ava glanced at Morgan's grave as she asked if he'd been Patient 6's connection to Port Charles. Patient 6 nodded then asked if she'd known Morgan.

Ava carefully revealed that Morgan had been her daughter's good friend. Patient 6 wanted to know how Morgan had died, but Ava was vague as she explained that there had been an accident. She assured him that it had been quick, but she acknowledged that Morgan had been troubled. Patient 6 wanted details, but she admitted that she wasn't comfortable talking about it. Patient 6 thanked her for her help then started to leave, but she was curious where he was going. Patient 6 explained that he needed to find a place to lay low, so he could figure things out.

Ava suggested that he stay with her, but he was reluctant. Ava insisted because she wanted an opportunity to prove to herself that she could do the right thing. A short time later, Ava invited Patient 6 into her apartment. She revealed that her brother had lived with her until recently, but she didn't elaborate. She suggested that Patient 6 take a shower and freshen up then added that he could help himself to her brother's clothes.

10/18 Betsy pleaded with Franco to stop asking questions about Andrew, but Franco was passionate. He begged that Andrew had been in his thoughts, dreams, and nightmares. He hadn't been able to focus. She admits to Franco that Jason’s twin didn’t die, she made it all up. For all she knows, Andrew is still alive.

At Ava's condo, she went on about Julian's business being sold to Jason and Sam. Patient 6 asked to see a photo of Jason, and Ava managed to find the press release online that included a photo. Patient 6 was quite surprised, and Ava assumed that it was because he'd thought Jason to be dead. She gave him the background of Jason's shooting, disappearance, confinement by Helena, and eventual facial reconstruction. She added that Jason had had no memory after his accident, but Carly had figured out his true identity.

She continued by telling of Jason's canceled wedding to Elizabeth and his remembrance of his one true love in Sam. Ava wondered why Patient 6 was so interested in Jason, and she asked if he knew him. The mystery man had begun to wander around and spotted a framed photo of Avery. Ava explained that Avery was her daughter with Sonny. The man had recognized that the photo had been taken at Sonny's house and was astonished that Sonny was the child's father. He mentioned that they'd been friends, and he asked Ava to get a message to Sonny. He wrote it out and handed it to her.

Ava confessed that Sonny hated her, and she didn't want to provoke him. Patient 6 advised her that Sonny would try to figure out the angle, and Patient 6 would take it from there. He thought it would show that Ava had meant it when she'd said she had wanted to be a better person. After Ava left, Patient 6 picked up his money and guns and left. Ava reached Sonny's place and handed him the note. Sonny was reluctant, but Ava announced that he might be missing something important.

10/19 At Greystone Manor, Sonny ordered Ava to leave, but she warned him that he might miss out on something important if she left. Sonny assured her that he wanted nothing from her, but Ava pulled out the note that she'd been asked to deliver and told him that he would never know if that was true or not. Sonny looked at the folded note then snarled that he wasn't interested in her games. It didn't matter to him if she gave him the note, but Ava took a chance and tried to use the lure of the note to spend some time with Avery.

Sonny refused then revealed that he knew that she had crashed Morgan's memorial service. Dejected, Ava implored Sonny not to turn their daughter against her, but Sonny assured her that it wouldn't be necessary because Avery would eventually see Ava for who she truly was. Ava suggested that Sonny might not know her as well as he believed because she was capable of doing the right thing. She handed him the note then turned to leave.

Sonny glanced at the note then demanded to know who had given it to her. Ava admitted that she had no idea what the man's name was, but she revealed that she had met him at the clinic in Russia. Sonny recalled Griffin telling him that Ava had sacrificed a treatment to help a patient. Ava was surprised that Griffin had shared the story with Sonny, but Sonny was curious why she'd agreed to deliver a message from a man in Russia.

Ava revealed that the patient had made his way to Port Charles then added that she didn't think the man intended Sonny any harm. Sonny wanted to know what the man looked like, but Ava was out of good deeds for the day and left. Sonny looked at the note. It read, "Sonny, meet me where you and Robin scattered Stone's ashes. Come alone, like the night you gave me $40 for a cab." Sonny frowned because only he and Jason knew about the incident outside of Luke's decades earlier.

Later, Ava arrived home and called out to her guest to let him know that she had delivered the note, but Patient 6 was gone. Ava found a note on the dining room table, thanking her for the clothes and the help.

Betsy remembered the day she'd found Andrew at the bottom of the basement stairs, broken and bleeding. Franco asked what had caused the boy to fall. "You did," she replied.

In the park, Patient 6 ducked behind a wall when he heard a familiar voice. Moments later, Elizabeth and Jake entered the clearing. Jake was carrying a large carved pumpkin, and he was playing on his phone, so Elizabeth told him to put the phone away. Jake grumbled because she never told Cam to put his phone away, but she reminded Jake that Cam didn't need to be told because he was interested in other things around him. Patient 6 frowned when he overheard the exchange and peeked around the corner to look at the young boy. "Jake," Patient 6 whispered in a pained tone as he ducked back out of sight.

"Who's there?" Jake asked when he heard his name. Just then, Jason arrived. Jake happily greeted his father. Patient 6 frowned as Elizabeth told Jason about Jake's day and how their son had won the pumpkin carving contest. Jake asked if he could get a hot chocolate, so Elizabeth agreed if he bought one for each of his parents as well.

Jake didn't notice Patient 6 as he ran past the wall to fetch the hot chocolate from a nearby vendor, but Patient 6's thoughts drifted to when Jason had faced a distraught Elizabeth in the hospital and had asked her to donate one of their son's kidneys to Josslyn.

Elizabeth had slapped Jason and angrily accused him of being a "selfish bastard" because he had chosen not to be Jake's father just like he had chosen not to be with her. She'd reminded him that he had walked away from them and had never looked back, so she and Lucky had raised Jake, and they were the ones who had been left with a hole in their lives.

On the other side of the wall, Elizabeth talked to Jason about his decision to buy Derek Wells Media. He was surprised that she knew, but she explained that the news was all over social media. Jason wondered if Franco knew, but Elizabeth had no idea because she and Franco had only touched base briefly that afternoon. Jason seized the opportunity to ask Elizabeth about what she and Franco had wanted to tell him the other day. He warned her that he knew it hadn't been about signing a permission slip for Jake's field trip. Elizabeth was evasive, but Jason wondered if it had had anything to do with Franco's visit when Jason had been in the hospital.

Elizabeth was spared from having to answer when Jake returned and announced that he had been right; someone had called out his name. Concerned, Jason asked what Jake was talking about, so Jake pointed to the brick wall where he'd seen a man lurking. Jake assured his mother that it was okay because something about the man had made Jake feel safe. Jason went to investigate, but Patient 6 had vanished.

Moments later, Jason's phone rang. It was Sonny calling to ask Jason to stop by because it was important, but he refused to elaborate. After Jason ended the call, Franco arrived. Jason decided that it was his cue to leave. Jake said goodbye to his father then asked if he could play with some friends he'd seen in the park, but Elizabeth remained uneasy about the man her son had seen and instructed Jake to remain within eyesight. Jake scampered off while Franco and Elizabeth sat down to talk. She warned him that Jason had been asking questions about what they had wanted to tell Jason the other day at the hospital.

Elizabeth thought it was time to tell Jason about his twin brother, but Franco blurted out that the boy in the picture hadn't been Jason's twin.According to Franco, he'd paid Betsy a visit because he'd been certain that his mother had lied about Andrew. He claimed that Betsy had finally confessed the truth that Jason had never had a twin, and the boy in the photo with Franco hadn't been any relation to Jason. Franco added that it had been for the best that they hadn't told Jason about Andrew.

At Greystone Manor, Sonny showed Jason the note that a stranger had given Ava. Jason frowned because it contained details that only he and Sonny had known. Sonny filled Jason in about the mysterious phone call from Russia and what Ava had told him about the patient she had helped. Jason suggested that it might be linked to Petrov, but Sonny doubted it. Sonny decided to go to the rendezvous point, but Jason objected because he suspected that it was a trap.

Meanwhile, Patient 6 waited for Sonny on the footbridge.

10/20 Klein yelled at his two henchmen for letting Patient 6 get away, especially with their guns and money. One of the men explained that Patient 6 had caught them off guard, but they would know what to expect "next time." Klein hoped there would be a next time, as the patient knew the city better than all of them. He needed Patient 6 stopped before he reached his "dangerous friends," as his client wouldn't be happy. Klein suggested that they "switch tactics."

A short while later, one of the henchmen was gone, and Klein discussed with the other man how to get ahead of Patient 6. He thought it would work to take someone the patient cared about and "wait for him to show."

Jason refused to let Sonny go to the footbridge alone, because he believed it was a trap.

At the footbridge, Patient 6 quietly hoped Sonny would meet him. He saw headlights approaching and hid in the bushes. He watched as Sonny walked onto the bridge with a gun drawn. The patient was about to reveal himself when he saw Jason follow Sonny onto the bridge. Sonny observed that no one else was there. Patient 6 turned to walk away, but there was a man standing behind him, pointing a gun to the patient's head.

The man demanded that Patient 6 put his hands on his head. The patient lunged at the man, and they fought over the gun. The patient finally overpowered the man, but there was a shot fired as they struggled over the gun. As the patient pointed the gun at the man, who revealed himself to be one of Sonny's guards, Jason ordered Sonny to go back to the car.

When Sonny was gone, Jason began to investigate. He went into the bushes and found the guard, clearly beaten up. The guard explained that a guy had jumped him, but he wondered why the man had let him go. After Sonny, Jason, and the guards were gone, Patient 6 stood on the bridge. He looked out at the water, thinking about all he'd seen and learned since he'd arrived in Port Charles.

Jason and Sonny returned to Sonny's house and discussed the incident. Sonny thought that, if killing him had been the goal, he could have easily been taken out while on the bridge. Michael entered the house and congratulated Jason on buying Derek Wells Media. He told Sonny about his and Monica's phones being plagued by static for a week or so. ELQ's technology department had found spy software on both phones. Sonny wanted Brick to look at the phones, as Brick believed that someone was targeting him. Michael wondered why Monica's phone would be tapped if that was the case. Jason blurted out, "Sonny's not the target. I am."

10/23 Klein met up with his henchmen in a sauna. One of them told Klein that he'd watched Sam and Jason's apartment all night, but Patient 6 hadn't shown up. Klein warned the men that, if they took someone close to the patient like they'd planned, they could provoke Sonny, which Klein didn't want to do. He wanted to put the men somewhere that Patient 6 was likely to show up.

At Metro Court, Carly expressed how happy she was for Sam and Jason's new beginning. Carly realizes that the media launch party is the type of party that her and Jason usually hate. Sam clarifies this was the type of party that they used to hate, but now they are launching a whole new start. Sam just wanted to be free of their past, but she assured Carly that she and Jason would always be friends with Sonny and Carly.

Jason arrived at Sonny's to ask if he had an update on the man who'd threatened Sonny. Sonny didn't think the mystery man was a threat to him or that the phone taps were related to him. Jason didn't know why Sonny was giving the man the benefit of the doubt, but he still didn't want Sam to know about the man. As Sonny agreed, Sam and Carly entered the house. Sam wondered why she and Carly had been "summoned" there. Jason revealed that the federal investigation they'd talked about "may already be here."

Sam commented that she'd been having problems with her phone, and Jason explained the phone taps, which were on seemingly everyone's phones but his own. He believed that they needed to continue with the party as planned, but Sonny didn't think Jason and Sam would benefit from having an "alleged crime lord" on their guest list. Carly agreed with Sonny, but Jason and Sam still protested. Sonny and Carly promised to cheer on their friends "from a distance" so as to not put any more suspicion on Jason and Sam.

Carly had a bottle of champagne, which Jason offered to open. As he poured four glasses, he toasted to the friendship between the four, because he believed that he and Sam wouldn't be where they were without Sonny and Carly. Jason refused to hide from the "Feds," and he needed Sonny and Carly at the party. They agreed after being assured that they were really wanted there. The four clinked their glasses to "success and friendship."

Elizabeth sat Jake down on a bench so she could finish her shift up. Noticing that he was quiet, she wondered if he was feeling all right. He divulged that he was thinking about the man in the park. Noting that Jason hadn't found a man, she asked what he'd looked like. Jake answered to a shocked Elizabeth that the man had looked like Jason "before his face changed."

Jake insisted that the man was nice because he'd smiled at Jake. Elizabeth remembered Jake saying that the man had made him feel safe, and she wondered why. "He just did," he answered. He asked if they could finally go costume shopping. She suggested they make a stop at Andre's office so that Jake could tell Andre about the man in the park.

On the phone, Klein wondered how close someone was to learning the truth about Patient 6. On the other end of the line, Andre told Klein that, once a few more dots were connected, the person would "know everything."

10/24 At Greystone Manor, Carly was touched that Jason and Sam wanted her and Sonny at their launch party. Conversation turned to the tapped phones as Sonny admitted that he'd been surprised by the government's move because they usually employed a different tactic. However, he acknowledged that the government might be working a different angle as they investigated Jason and Sam. Carly reminded Sonny that Jason and Sam were committed to going legitimate. She was happy for their friends, but she already felt them pulling away. "I miss Jason," Carly added in a forlorn tone as she declares that tonight will be their last hurrah with Jason and Sam due to their new life path and the threat that associating with S&C will bring by the feds.

Sonny showed Carly the note that Ava had given him, and he filled her in about how Ava's claim that an escaped patient from the Russian clinic had written it. Carly was certain that Ava had lied, but she read the note. Carly frowned because she knew where Stone's ashes had been scattered, but she had no idea what the reference to the $40 was about. Sonny told Carly about the night he'd met Jason.

Sonny explained that it had been shortly after Jason had recovered from the head-on collision in A.J.'s car. Ned had been performing in Luke's bar, and A.J. had taken a date and Jason to the show, but Jason had been miserable. Sonny revealed that Jason had flipped a table and stormed out of the bar. Carly was certain that A.J. had said or done something to set Jason off.

Sonny shook his head because Jason had been volatile in those days. Sonny admitted that he'd seen himself in Jason because Jason had been desperate, alone, and angry at the world. Carly admitted that she had a difficult time envisioning Jason like that because Jason had always been the most capable person she'd known. Sonny pointed out that she hadn't met Jason until after he'd left the Quartermaines.

According to Sonny, the Quartermaines had pressured Jason to do things that Jason hadn't wanted. Sonny told Carly that he'd met Jason outside the bar, and Jason had been desperate to leave but penniless. Carly smiled when she realized that Sonny had given Jason $40 for cab fare. Sonny nodded then added that it had been the best money he'd spent because it had been the beginning of his friendship with Jason. Carly enjoyed the story, but she questioned how anyone besides Sonny and Jason could have known about it.

Carly wondered if Sonny intended to go to the rendezvous point, but he revealed that he'd already gone. Carly was not pleased, but he explained that Jason had accompanied him to the footbridge. Sonny told Carly about Troy's encounter with the mystery man then added that the man had had an opportunity to shoot Sonny, but he hadn't taken it. Sonny acknowledged that Jason had reservations about the man, but Sonny hoped the man reached out to him again.

Moments later, Max called Sonny to let Sonny know that there had been an intrusion at one of the safe houses.

In Andre's office, Andre spoke to Dr. Klein on the phone. He reported to his associate that someone was close to the truth. "If they connect a few more dots, they will know everything," Andre warned. Andre promised that he was on his way then ended the call. He went to the door but stopped in his tracks when he saw Elizabeth and Jake on his doorstep.

Elizabeth explained that she had hoped that Andre could talk to Jake, but Andre admitted that it wasn't a good time. Jake asked his mother if she had wanted him to talk to Andre about the man in the park, which snagged Andre's attention. Andre's tone filled with concern as he invited Elizabeth and Jake into his office. Elizabeth wanted to stay for the session. Jake didn't object, so Andre reluctantly agreed. Andre began the session by asking Jake to tell him about the man in the park.

Andre was careful not to show his surprise when Jake revealed that the man had looked like Jason before the accident that had changed his father's face. Jake assured both Elizabeth and Andre that the man hadn't frightened him, but Jake was certain he had whispered Jake's name when Jake had first arrived at the park. Elizabeth explained that Jason had looked for the man where Jake had last seen him, but the man had vanished.

Elizabeth gave Jake some money then asked him to get her something to drink. After he left the office, Elizabeth asked if she should be concerned. Andre told Elizabeth that they would have to proceed with caution. He suspected that Jake had been more fixated on his father's past appearance than they had realized, which had led Jake to project that fixation onto a random stranger in the park. Andre asked Elizabeth to schedule a private session with Jake, and to call him if Jake claimed to see his father again. Andre explained that they might be able to trace things back to a pattern that might shed light onto what had triggered the sightings.

After Elizabeth left, Andre sent Dr. Klein a text message. A short time later, Dr. Klein knocked on Andre's door. Andre ushered Dr. Klein inside then shut the door as he reminded the doctor that it was too dangerous for Dr. Klein to be there. Dr. Klein wanted to know who had been closing in on the truth, but Andre revealed that they had bigger concerns because Jake Webber had seen Patient 6. Andre feared that it was just a matter of time before Patient 6 reached out to someone, but Dr. Klein told Andre not to worry because Dr. Klein knew where Patient 6 would be later that evening, and he'd set a trap for the escaped captive.

Meanwhile, Elizabeth ran into Franco and after Jake scampered off to get a snack from the vending machine, Elizabeth confessed that she was concerned about Jake because her son was suddenly very interested in how Jason had looked before.

In the woods, Patient 6 entered a safe house. He quickly keyed in the code when the alarm beeped. After the alarm fell silent, Patient 6 looked around the house. Satisfied that he was alone, he went to a cabinet and retrieved a kit to clean his gun. He sat down on the sofa then proceeded to take his gun apart and thoroughly clean it.

Later, Sonny approached the cabin. He silently entered the safe house with his gun drawn then looked around. Moments later, he called out to Patient 6 because he was certain the man had been waiting for him. "Sonny," Patient 6 said as he appeared at the top of the stairs with his gun aimed at Sonny. Sonny stared in shock at the man with Jason's old face.

10/25 At the Morgan penthouse, Jason buttoned his dress shirt as Danny asked where his father was going. Jason announced that he and Sam had news to share with Danny and Scout. Danny chuckled and pointed out that Scout was too young to understand. Sam smiled as she entered the living room with Scout on her hip. Jason told Danny about the media company then added that he and Sam would be working in an office.

Danny was excited and offered to help by suggesting a television program about Monica's dog, Annabelle 2. Jason and Sam laughed. Danny wondered if Jake could help, too, because Jake was a talented artist. Jason admitted that he eventually wanted all his children to be a part of his new business. Sam beamed with joy because she hadn't realized how much she had wanted the future they faced until Jason had made it happen.

Later, Jason returned to the living room and reported that Danny was sound asleep. Sam smiled. She was certain that their children wouldn't notice when Monica arrived to pick them up. Jason grinned because he was delighted that Danny had been excited about their new business. Sam admitted that she felt exhilarated about their future, but it was frightening to jump into the unknown. Jason assured her that everything would be fine, especially after all they had been through over the years.

After Sam changed into a vibrant blue form-fitting cocktail dress, she practiced Jason's talking points by peppering him with questions about their business venture. Jason assured Sam that they would succeed in business because they had a better eye for things than Julian. Sam agreed, but she worried that they might be asking for trouble. Jason promised that his past wouldn't keep them from the future they wanted.

Moments later, Monica arrived. Monica revealed that Olivia had volunteered to watch Danny and Scout for the evening, so Monica could attend the launch party. Monica had decided to commemorate the special occasion and handed Jason a small black box as she explained that it was a gift from her and his father. Jason opened the box and saw a set of cufflinks. Monica explained that the cufflinks had belonged to Alan, and they depicted a snake consuming itself, which symbolized rebirth. Monica added that to move forward, a person had to consume their past, which was exactly what Jason had done.

Jason was touched by the special gift. Monica told Jason that Alan had adored him, and Alan's greatest regret had been that he hadn't been able to reconnect with Jason. Monica was certain that Alan was happy that Jason had broken things off with Sonny and that he wouldn't be working with Sonny again. Jason admitted that the things he'd done in his twenties no longer served him as an adult. Monica was happy that Jason had a chance at a new beginning and had chosen a new and better life.

After Monica left, Jason expressed his regret for the way he had treated his father because Alan had been a good man. Jason vowed not to let the same thing happen with Jake, Danny, and Scout. Sam smiled then asked if he was ready. Jason assured her that he was, provided she was at his side. Sam promised that she didn't want to be anywhere else.

At the safe house, Sonny was shocked when he faced a man with Jason's face prior to the reconstruction surgery. "Who the hell are you?" Sonny demanded as he aimed his gun at the armed man. "Don't you know?" Patient 6 asked as he slowly descended the stairs then entered the living room. Sonny acknowledged that the man looked exactly like Jason Morgan, but Patient 6 wasn't satisfied.

"I am Jason," he clarified. Sonny argued that he knew Jason Morgan well, and Jason Morgan had been back in Port Charles for the past two years. Patient 6 disagreed and begged Sonny to believe him. Sonny realized it had been futile to point a gun at the man with Jason's face because, if he was Jason, then he could easily kill Sonny in the blink of an eye. Patient 6 promised that he had no intention of shooting Sonny.

To prove his point, Patient 6 lowered his gun, pulled a second gun out of his waistband, then set both guns on the coffee table. Patient 6 explained that he'd been armed because he had worried that Sonny would show up with the man posing as him. Patient 6 recalled that the man had seemed "hopped-up" and likely to shoot first then ask questions.

"Where have you been?" Sonny demanded. Patient 6 acknowledged that he'd been gone for five years, but it had seemed like only a few months. He revealed that he'd been held captive and heavily drugged at a clinic in Russia, but he hadn't realized that years had passed. Sonny studied Patient 6 carefully as Patient 6 talked about plotting his escape and meeting Ava Jerome. Sonny tested Ava's story and was surprised when Patient 6 credited Ava with helping him. Sonny was curious who had hired Dr. Klein, but Patient 6 had no idea.

Patient 6 told Sonny about the voyage from Russia and the two mercenaries that had followed him to New York. He warned Sonny that the men were still hunting him, but Sonny wanted to know why he hadn't sought Sonny out sooner. Patient 6 revealed that he had, but he hadn't recognized the guards, and he'd been eager to reunite with Sam. Patient 6 filled Sonny in about the visit to the penthouse and how he'd been overwhelmed by the passage of time as he'd stood in his home.

Sonny heard the sincerity in Patient 6's tone as he shared the painful details of watching Sam with her new husband. Sonny reminded him that Sam believed the man was Jason Morgan. Patient 6 assured Sonny that he was fully aware of the situation because he'd encountered Ava, and she had unwittingly helped him put the pieces together.

Sonny argued that there had been a DNA test, and the man had known things that only Sonny and Jason had known. Patient 6 was adamant that he was the real Jason Morgan. "I am. You know that, don't you?" Patient 6 asked. Patient 6 needed to know that Sonny believed him because Sonny was his best friend and his brother.

Patient 6 freely offered to have a DNA test. He couldn't explain how or why another man claimed to be him, but it wasn't true as Patient 6 was Jason Morgan. His voice filled with emotion as he reminded Sonny that they had met in 1996, and Sonny had taught him everything he knew about business and life, which was why Jason would never turn his back on Sonny or walk away to start a media company. He insisted that he had left because someone had shot him in the back. "Stop!" Sonny shouted.

"I know it's you, Jason," Sonny confessed as his eyes filled with tears. Sonny hugged his friend tightly as he welcomed Jason home.

10/26 In Andre's office, Andre reminded Dr. Klein that Patient 6 wasn't supposed to return to Port Charles, but Klein argued that their boss had neglected to mention Patient 6's particular skill set. Andre warned Klein that the longer Patient 6 remained in Port Charles, the more likely it was that someone would learn the truth about what had happened and Andre's role in it.

Klein assured Andre there was nothing to worry about because Klein's men would take care of everything. Klein advised Andre to stick to Andre's area of expertise, but Andre reminded Klein that Jake Webber had seen Patient 6. Andre had convinced Jake that it had been a delusion, but Franco wouldn't be as easily fooled.

Klein pulled an envelope from his jacket then handed it to Andre with the assurance that the contents would put an end to Franco's questions. Andre unfolded the document and frowned because he was skeptical that it would satisfy Franco's questions. Andre explained that Franco was borderline obsessive about the subject, and he could easily uncover the truth if he continued to dig. Seconds later, Franco burst through the door, but he stopped short when he saw Klein. Andre managed to explain Klein's presence by claiming that he was a patient. Klein thanked Andre for the session then made a hasty exit.

Franco explained that he wanted to talk about the man that Jake had seen in the park, but Andre made it clear that he wasn't at liberty to confirm or deny if Jake had discussed the incident during their session. Franco assured Andre that it wasn't necessary because Elizabeth had shared her concerns about Jake with Franco. Franco cut to the chase and told Andre that the sighting meant that Andrew was alive.

At Metro Court Restaurant, photographers snapped pictures as the guest arrived for the launch party. Jason and Sam arrived for the party. Sam whispered to Jason that she felt a little overwhelmed because everything was starting to feel real, but Jason smiled and reminded her that it was the first day of the rest of their lives.

Moments later, Carly ran up to greet the couple. Sam looked around then told Carly that Carly had outdone herself. Carly beamed with pride and admitted that she had wanted to make certain that everything went off without a hitch. Carly was curious what Jason and Sam intended to name their media company, but Sam insisted that Carly would have to wait for the official announcement. Nearby, Klein's two mercenaries kept an eye on things as they posed as waiters.

Monica smiled with delight when she saw that Jason had worn his father's cufflinks. Monica was certain that Alan was smiling down with pride, but Jason hoped that Monica was proud too. Monica admitted that all she had ever wanted was for Jason to be happy. She regretted that it had taken her a long time to learn not to control him, but Jason reminded her that it was all in the past.

Monica explained that she'd done what she had because she had wanted the little boy that she had raised back, but she promised that she treasured the relationship they had. Jason assured Monica that he would never let her go again then he hugged her.

Dvd #35B 10/26 continued. Jason warned Sam that it was too late for them to back out. Sam asked Jason to promise that whether they succeeded or failed, that they would do it together. Jason assured her that it was a deal.

Carly formally introduced Jason and Sam. Jason gave a short speech about his and Sam's decision to purchase a media company then unveiled the name, Aurora Media. Sam explained that the previous year, she and Jason had talked about moving away and starting over in another town named Aurora, which had meant a new dawn.

Sam added that she and Jason had ultimately decided to remain in Port Charles to be close to their loved ones. She hoped that they each could have their own "aurora" every day. The guests applauded. Alexis and Molly congratulated Jason and Sam then said their goodbyes. Later, Elizabeth walked over to congratulate Jason. After she walked away, Sam warned Jason that Ava and Griffin were at the party, but Jason wasn't in the mood for a confrontation, so he suggested that they ignore Ava.

On pier 54, Klein met with an associate because Klein wanted a contingency plan if things didn't go according to plan with his two henchmen. Klein gave the man instructions then handed him a syringe filled with fluid "to get the job done."

Griffin recognized the Russian thugs and alerted Ava. They decided to let Dante know about the threat. Dante thanked Griffin and Ava for the tip then instructed them to act casual because he didn't want the men to realize that they'd been recognized.

At Sonny's safe house in the woods, Sonny hugged his old friend. Afterwards, Sonny admitted that he'd been halfway convinced that Patient 6 was the real Jason when he'd first laid eyes on Jason. Jason knew there had been a lot riding on it. Sonny agreed then added that he trusted Jason 100 percent, even more than Carly. Sonny conceded that his wife's loyalty was unquestionable, but she had terrible judgment. Jason defended Carly, but Sonny chuckled because it was further proof that he was Jason.

Sonny couldn't wait until Carly found out. "Her Jason, our Jason, is alive," Sonny said in a tone filled with awe. Sonny admitted that he and Jason had a lot to catch up on, but Jason wanted Sonny to start with Elizabeth. Jason explained that he'd seen Elizabeth and a young boy around ten years old in the park, and he'd heard her mention that he was Cam's younger brother, but Jason thought the boy had been too old to be Aiden.

Sonny nodded solemnly as he confirmed that the boy had been Jake. Jason's eyes filled with tears because his son was alive, but he didn't understand how it was possible. Sonny told Jason about Helena's elaborate plot to stage the accident and abduct Jake. Jason was shocked that his son had been kept on Cassadine Island. Sonny poured them each a drink then handed one to Jason.

Their conversation continued as Sonny told Jason how Robin had found the man that everyone believed was Jason in a clinic. Jason was stunned that Robin was alive, so Sonny explained that the Cassadines had taken Robin, too. However, Sonny assured Jason that Robin was fine and living in Berkeley, California, with Patrick, Emma, and her newborn son, Noah Robert. Jason was happy for Robin, but he was curious about Sam's husband. Jason wondered what, beyond a DNA test, had convinced everyone that the man was Jason.

Sonny filled Jason in about the man that had eventually become known as Jake Doe, the car accident that had resulted in Jake Doe's reconstruction surgery, Jake Doe's relationship with Elizabeth, and how Spinelli and Carly had put all the pieces together. Jason wondered if there was a possibility that Sam's husband had been Helena's accomplice, but Sonny shook his head.

Sonny admitted that he hadn't liked Sam's husband at first, but Sam's husband had been reluctant to accept that he was Jason Morgan. Sonny explained that Sam's husband had bought a media company and severed ties with Sonny because he'd been worried that Sonny would pull him back into organized crime, but Jason realized that Sam's husband hadn't known Sonny the way that Jason did.

Sonny agreed; Sam's husband wasn't like Jason. Sonny suggested they tell Carly, but Jason balked because it wasn't safe as long as the Russian mercenaries were looking for him. Jason was also reluctant to dump the truth on Sam when it was clear that she was happily married.

Sonny disagreed because he knew that Sam had noticed a difference in the man that she believed was Jason. Sonny acknowledged that Sam's husband was a good guy and had good intentions, but Sam's husband couldn't do for Sam what Jason could. Sonny insisted that Jason needed to go to Sam because she deserved to know that Jason was alive.

10/27 Andre informs Franco that this death certificate is proof that Andrew is dead.

At the safe house, Sonny questioned Jason/Patient 6 about why he had left the Quartermaine house in the past. Jason explained that they'd tried to control him. "Isn't that what you're doing to Sam?" Sonny asked. He thought that Jason needed to tell Sam the truth.

At the Metro Court media party, Dante approached Jason and quickly filled him in about the danger from the thugs. Dante and Jason agreed to lure the men away from the guests so Dante could quietly take them into custody. However, things took an unexpected turn when the Russian thugs pulled out their guns and ordered everyone to the ground. People began to scream as Dante pulled out his own gun and identified himself as a police officer.

One of the men fired a warning shot at Dante, who had temporarily engaged in a standoff with the other thug. Dante eventually tossed his gun on the floor, and he was shoved to the floor, as well. Nina hunkered down with Elizabeth, who discovered she'd been shot in her side. The women stayed down while Nina did her best to stem the bleeding.

Ava tried to call the police while Carly successfully managed to send a text message to Sonny. The thugs demanded that everyone turn their cell phones over to Sam, who was ordered to collect them. Sonny received Carly's text, and he urged Jason/Patient 6 to grab his guns. They had an emergency, and they needed to get to Metro Court.

Sonny and Patient 6 arrived at the Metro Court and were surprised to see cops swarming the lobby. When the cop by the elevator grew distracted, Sonny managed to get onto the elevator headed for the restaurant. Sam continued to collect everyone's phones, but she suddenly tossed one at one of the thugs. Jason grabbed the man and pulled him into a headlock on the floor.

The other thug grabbed Carly, but Sonny arrived. He trained his gun on the thug and menacingly ordered him to release Carly. The man obeyed, and Dante was able to cuff both of the thugs. Nina continued to aid Elizabeth. Patient 6 peered down from the skylight and watched the scene below. The thugs were taken care of and led out of the premises. Griffin checked on Elizabeth and pronounced her wound as not serious.

Sam apologized to Monica for the drama but thought that things weren't over yet. Carly insisted to Dante and Sonny that she had used her usual temp agency, and everyone on the staff had checked out. Dante explained that Ava and Griffin had recognized the men, who apparently had some ties to Jason. Sonny appeared confused. Jason and Griffin accompanied Elizabeth to the hospital.

Another thug was in the crowd, and he advised someone on the phone that he would be in touch. He grabbed Sam as she walked by and injected her with a needle. She collapsed, and he grabbed her. That was enough for Patient 6. He kicked the skylight in and jumped to the floor below. Sonny shifted his eyes as Carly looked on in shock. The man escaped with Sam, with Patient 6 in pursuit.

The cops began to question the guests, but Monica felt it was imperative to identify the man who had been on the roof. Carly felt it was important that Jason be told about Sam than worry about the unknown man from the roof.

Later at GH, Franco asked Jason how someone could have been injured at a corporate party, and he placed the blame squarely on Jason's shoulders. Andre eavesdropped nearby. Jason wondered why Griffin and Ava had been at the party, and he learned about the thugs being in Russia. Andre checked with Klein on the status of Sam and Patient 6. Monica arrived to see Jason. She told him there had been another thug at the party, and it wasn't over.

Klein stood on the dock with Sam and the thug who had first grabbed her. He was sure that Patient 6 would be looking for Sam. Just then, Patient 6 arrived with his gun pointed at the men. He gave them a chance to release Sam, and he would allow them to walk away. Given the option, the other thug agreed to leave, but he pulled his gun on Patient 6 as he departed. Patient 6 shot him. "Kill me or save her. Not both," Klein called out as he shoved Sam into the water.

Carly approached Sonny after Dante left. "What the hell's going on? Who was that man?" she questioned.

10/30 Carly arrived home with Sonny and demanded to know about the man who had crashed through the skylight at Metro Court. "He's Jason," Sonny replied. Carly repeated it and declared it impossible. She reminded Sonny that Jason had left with Elizabeth. She argued with her husband. Sonny responded that the Jason they'd been around had been Jake Doe, not Jason. The guy in the skylight had been the Jason they knew. "He came home to us tonight," Sonny said.

Carly declared that she had only seen the man for what amounted to seconds. Sonny reminded her of the note he had received and told her it had really been from Jason. Carly asked for details, and Sonny related the events from the time he received the note to finding Jason at the safe house. When he'd walked in, he'd recognized Jason's voice when he'd called out to Sonny. Carly began to weep.

After Sonny confessed that they'd each had guns, Carly grew emotional. She was emphatic that that couldn't have been Jason because he would never have pointed a gun at Sonny. Carly wanted proof, and Sonny suggested that she just talk to him. Carly gave Sonny a hard time, and she insisted that it couldn't be Jason.

At the docks, Patient 6 aimed his gun at Klein who held onto Sam, who did not appear aware of her surroundings after the injection. Suddenly, Klein pushed Sam into the water and ran. Patient 6 jumped into the water after her. He continued his search through the murky water and, after several attempts below the surface, finally located her. He swam with her to the dock, and after no response from Sam, he performed CPR. She vomited up some water and looked up at him.

"You're here," Sam said. "How did you find me?" she asked. "I just did," Patient 6 replied as he comforted her. Sam closed her eyes and seemed to lose consciousness. Patient 6 picked her up in his arms and began to run.

Monica spoke to Jason at the hospital and told him what had happened at the media party after he'd left with Elizabeth. She disclosed that Sam had been abducted. Franco was nearby and tried to get more information, but Monica seemed fuzzy on details. She thought that the man who'd jumped through the skylight had wanted to save Sam. Andre eavesdropped nearby.

Jordan arrived, and she began to question Jason, who knew nothing. He was frantic to find his wife, and he left. Jordan spoke to Monica next as Andre continued to listen. Monica started to say that it didn't make sense, but the man looked like and she stopped herself. It wasn't possible, she said. Andre received a phone call and walked away to take it. Klein was on the phone, and he wanted to meet with an angry Andre.

Monica visited with Elizabeth and broke the news that she thought the man at the Metro Court had been Jason, but Jason had been with Elizabeth at GH. "The only way for this to be real is if there were two Jasons," Monica declared. Later, a groggy Liz tells Franco that Jason will save Sam just like he saved her.

Jason got to the Metro Court and viewed the party footage with Dante. It was entirely too blurry to look at the skylight-jumping man very clearly. Jason attempted to play with it, but he couldn't focus it. They looked at a partial image from the lobby and saw Sonny arriving with the mystery man who had jumped from the skylight. Dante admitted that he couldn't get any answers from his father.

As Carly continued to argue with Sonny, Jordan arrived with an update. She stated that the two thugs had obtained lawyers and weren't talking. Elizabeth was fine, and Jordan needed to find Sam. She wanted more information from Sonny, but he had nothing to offer. He said that he'd seen "what everybody else saw." Jordan received a page and had to leave. Sonny thanked Carly for her trust. She thought that Sonny's judgment had been affected, but he was insistent that he knew his best friend when he saw him.

Sonny asked why he hadn't been shot if that hadn't really been Jason. Carly asked where Jason had been for five years. They already had their DNA test and had used Spinelli's program, she reminded her husband. Jason showed up and asked for a lead in locating his wife. He also mentioned the lobby footage and asked who the guy was who had arrived with Sonny.

Sonny advised Jason that he had his own people looking for Sam, and the guy was someone who he trusted. Jason thought that Sonny was being evasive, and he asked where his wife was. He was growing angry. Just then, Patient 6 walked through the patio doors with Sam in his arms. All everyone could do was stare at him in disbelief.

10/31 Andre paced in an alley until Klein arrived. Klein was agitated as Andre demanded to know what was going on. Andre was furious because Klein had promised that everything would be fine. He reminded Klein that he hadn't signed up for people getting shot, but Klein argued that he hadn't either. Klein revealed that he'd been forced to toss a woman off the pier to get away from Patient 6. Shocked, Andre asked who Klein had thrown into the water.

Klein filled Andre in about what had transpired on the pier, but Andre wanted to know if Sam was okay. Klein had no idea because he'd been too busy trying to escape. Andre was upset because all he'd wanted was to complete his research and be a part of the study, even though he knew it had been "shady," but Klein clarified that they both had known that it had been illegal.

Andre conceded that Klein was right, but Andre hadn't signed up for hurting, shooting, killing, and drowning people; it was too much. Andre added that Elizabeth had been a colleague who had entrusted Andre with her son, but Klein cut Andre off by asking if Andre thought that Klein had wanted any part of what had happened. Klein reminded Andre that they were both men of science, but Andre admitted that they no longer had a right to say that.

Klein was frustrated because their client had failed to adequately warn him about Patient 6. Klein admitted that he hadn't been prepared to deal with someone like Patient 6 because even horse tranquilizers hadn't worked, and the patient had gotten out. "Not just out. Home, to the people he believes are his family," Andre said.

Andre pointed out that the people that Patient 6 had turned to had substantial resources, which put Klein, Andre, and their associates in danger. Klein implored Andre to let him hide out at Andre's place for the night, but Andre refused. Andre feared that it wasn't safe, especially if Andre had been compromised. Andre wished Klein luck then left. Klein pulled out his phone then sent a text message to Valentin, asking for help.

At Greystone Manor, Patient 6 cradled Sam in his arms as he told a shocked Carly, Sonny, and Jason that Sam had been thrown into the water and had nearly drowned, but Patient 6 had managed to revive her. However, Patient 6 hadn't been able to get Sam to the hospital because the man who had kidnapped her had gotten away. Jason glared at Patient 6 as he ordered Patient 6 to put down "my wife." Sonny assured Jason that Patient 6 wouldn't hurt Sam. Just then, Sam opened her eyes, looked at Patient 6, and then fainted.

Patient 6 gently put Sam on the sofa as Jason tucked a pillow behind her head. He briefly glared at Patient 6 then focused on Sam as he gently talked to her and urged her to wake up. Sam remained still, so Jason asked someone to call an ambulance. Patient 6 warned Jason that it was too dangerous because the man who was after Sam was a doctor and familiar with hospitals, but Jason didn't care because Sam needed medical attention. Carly made the phone call while Sonny assured Patient 6 that he would have guards watch over Sam.

Jason bristled and made it clear that he would keep his wife safe, but he warned Patient 6 to stay away from Sam. Jason turned to Sonny and demanded to know what was going on because it was obvious that Sonny had some answers. However, one of the guards appeared in the doorway to announce that Jordan had arrived with a warrant. Jordan entered the living room. She pointedly looked around then asked what she was looking at. Carly let Jason know that an ambulance was on the way, while Sonny asked what Jordan had a warrant for.

Jordan explained that the warrant was to gain access to Sonny's home because she had questions about what had transpired at Metro Court Restaurant. Jason demanded that Jordan arrest Patient 6, but Sonny objected. Jason argued that Patient 6 might be working with the men who had taken the restaurant hostage, but Sonny argued that Patient 6 had saved Sam. Stunned, Jason couldn't understand why Sonny would back Patient 6. Jordan suggested that she and Patient 6 go to the police station to clear things up, so Patient 6 agreed.

After Jordan and Patient 6 left, Jason leaned down and whispered to Sam to shut out all the noise in the room and to focus on just the two of them. He promised his wife that she would be okay then reminded her that she'd gotten through worse situations. Carly's eyes clouded with sadness as she watched Jason and Sam.

Later, Jordan ushered Patient 6 into the interrogation room. She assured him that he was not under arrest, but she did have a few questions. Patient 6 told Jordan that he refused to say anything without his attorney. Moments later, Carly barged in, instructed Patient 6 not to say a word, and assured him that Diane was on her way. Jordan was furious and ordered Carly to leave. Carly studied Patient 6 closely as she made it clear that she wasn't going anywhere because she refused to take her eyes off Patient 6.

Jordan pointed out that Carly wasn't the man's attorney then revealed that she had enough cause to arrest Patient 6. Jordan offered to do things the easy way, but if Carly caused problems, then Jordan would take more drastic action. Carly insisted that Patient 6 wouldn't talk, but Jordan thought it should be his decision -- unless he liked people speaking for him.

Patient 6 didn't take his eyes off Carly as he reiterated that he had nothing to say without his attorney. Carly and Patient 6 exchanged smiles. Jordan pulled out a set of handcuffs and warned Patient 6 that she intended to run his fingerprints to determine who he was. Carly was confident that Jordan would discover what Carly already knew. "This man is Jason Morgan," Carly announced.

At the hospital, Dr. Parker called out to an unconscious Sam and explained that she was in the emergency room. Sam's eyes fluttered open, and she muttered about being saved from drowning. Dr. Parker assured her that her husband was in the hallway, but Sam's eyes drifted closed.

Jason expressed his frustration with Sonny's cryptic answers. Dante walked up as Jason ranted about how a great evening had ended in disaster with Sam's kidnapping and an impostor running around. Sonny promised that he had no idea who had taken Sam, but "Jason" had saved her. Jason was furious. He insisted that he was Jason and the other man was an impostor, so Dante tactfully suggested that they refer to the other man as "the individual."

Dante questioned Sonny about "the individual," but Sonny claimed that all he knew was that the man had saved Sam's life. Moments later, the doctor approached Jason to let him know that Sam had briefly woken up. The doctor added that he wanted to monitor Sam until morning, but Jason could see her. After Jason left, Dante broached the subject of "the individual," but Sonny smiled. "It's Jason Morgan," Sonny whispered.

Meanwhile, Jason sat at Sam's bedside. He held her hand and promised her that everything would be okay. He told her to rest then admitted that he had no idea what was going on, but he assured her that he was her Jason, and he loved her, their children, and the life that they had built. Jason vowed that they would make it then kissed her softly on the lips.

11/1 At Greystone Manor, Carly was on the phone with Diane. She was frustrated when Diane revealed that Jason/Patient 6 had left the hospital, but Diane had no idea where he'd gone. "Carly," Jason said as he appeared in the doorway. Relief washed over Carly's expression as she looked at her beloved Jason. She ran into his arms and held him tight as she tearfully told him how much she had missed him. After they broke apart, Jason gently told her to take a deep breath and count to ten.

Carly smiled, but she remained emotional because she didn't know how to process everything that had happened. She admitted that she had never thought she would see Jason's face again. Carly realized how badly she had messed up when she had convinced herself that Jake Doe was Jason. Jason reminded her that it hadn't all been in her head, but Carly was filled with remorse. She told him about Spinelli's software that had reconstructed Jake Doe's original face, which had looked exactly like Jason, and how a DNA test had confirmed her suspicions that Jake Doe was Jason. She pointed out that she knew firsthand that DNA tests could be tampered with.

Carly talked about how difficult it had been to lose Jason, and how his death had left a huge hole in her life. She admitted that she'd been desperate for him to be alive, which was why she had turned Jake Doe into Jason. Carly regretted that she hadn't known the truth, but Jason wondered how she should have. Carly was curious if he would believe someone with a different face claiming to be her and with all her memories.

Jason shook his head; he'd know her anywhere because there was only one Carly. Carly's smile was bittersweet because that was how she had felt when she'd seen Jason enter the house with Sam in his arms. Carly assured Jason that she knew he was home. She hugged him tightly then pulled away as tears of joy ran down her face.

She had many questions, but Jason admitted that he didn't have a lot of answers. He revealed that the last thing he recalled was getting shot and kicked into the water. His next memory had been a few months earlier when he'd woken up in a Russian clinic. Jason told her that a patient had helped him escape, and it wasn't until he'd been on a freighter bound for New York that he'd seen a newspaper and had realized that five years had passed.

Jason had been in shock, but it could have been worse because he could have lost people during the years he'd been gone. Instead, he had gained two. "Robin and Jake," Carly supplied. Jason nodded then asked what Morgan had been like. Carly described her son as kind and impulsive, but her voice cracked when she revealed that Morgan had suffered from bipolar disorder. Carly admitted that there had been dark times, but Morgan had gotten better. Jason was curious what had happened, but Carly didn't want to talk about Morgan when they should be celebrating Jason's homecoming.

Carly was thrilled that Jason was home, and she was certain that Sam would feel the same. She encouraged Jason to go to Sam, but he didn't think it was a good idea because of Sam's husband. Jason asked about Sam's husband, so Carly admitted that the man loved Sam very much, and he was good to his wife and the rest of them. Jason worried about Sam's reaction to learning that he was alive because it would be a lot for her to deal with. He was reluctant to hurt Sam, but Carly was adamant that Sam deserved to know the truth.

At the hospital, Andre entered his office, but he stopped short when he saw a Halloween decoration on his desk. Scary noises filled the room as the coffin opened. Confused, Andre closed the door and was startled when he saw that Franco had been lurking in his office. Andre demanded to know what was going on, so Franco told the doctor that it was time for the truth about Jason's twin. "Andrew's alive, right?" Franco asked as he closed the coffin on Andre's desk.

Franco explained that he and Elizabeth's boys had been decorating for Halloween, but Andre cut Franco off because he didn't have time for Franco's games. "Something came up," Andre added as he deposited a box on his desk then began to pack. Franco agreed because Elizabeth had been shot, and Monica had been talking about seeing a second Jason, which could only mean that Andrew was alive. Franco confronted Andre about the forged death certificate, prompting Andre to confirm that Jason's twin was alive. Andre was ashamed of his lies, but Franco wanted answers.

Andre refused to share any details until Franco threatened to call the police. Resigned, Andre confessed that he had destroyed a person's life by tampering with his memory, which had left two men thinking that they were the same person. Andre continued to pack up his office as he explained that he had briefly worked for the WSB on a secret project.

According to Andre, he had designed a computer program that had been able to copy a person's memories and transfer them to another person. He'd been close to completing the project, but the WSB had decided to scrap the program, citing ethical reasons. Andre had jumped at the opportunity to continue his work when someone had stepped forward and offered to fund the project.

Andre revealed that five years earlier, he'd been presented with a test subject who'd been shot and fished out of the waters of Port Charles. "Jason Morgan," Franco realized. Andre admitted that he hadn't known who Jason was, but Jason had had an identical twin, which had increased the chances of success exponentially. Andre acknowledged that both men had been reluctant to participate, but Andre had forged ahead with the experiment, which had ultimately been a success because both twins believed that they were Jason Morgan. Andre added that the process could not be reversed, which meant that Andrew's memories were gone forever.

Franco demanded to know which twin was Jason and which was Andrew, but Andre insisted that he had to go. He told Franco that he had printed a file that would answer all of Franco's questions. Andre picked up his box and a shoulder bag then made his way to the door. He hoped that Franco could undo the damage that Andre had done. After Andre left, Franco walked over to the printer and picked up the page that had printed. "Oh, my God," Franco whispered as he read the document.

In Sam's hospital room, Sam dreamed about her brush with death on the pier and being rescued by Patient 6. Meanwhile, her husband's voice repeatedly assured her that he, not the man who had rescued her, was the real Jason. Sam woke up and frowned when she saw both Jasons standing at the foot of her bed.

Moments later, her eyes snapped open as the vision faded. Jason stood at her bedside and smiled when he saw that she was awake. He asked how she was feeling, so she told him about her strange dream. Jason reluctantly admitted that he hadn't saved her -- someone who looked like him before the surgery had.

Jason filled Sam in about the events that had transpired after she'd been injected with a tranquilizer. Sam was stunned that what she'd seen had been real, but she was curious who the mystery man with her husband's old face was. Jason admitted that the man claimed to be him -- Jason Morgan. Jason had no idea who the man was or what to think about the assertion.

He didn't know if the man had had plastic surgery to alter his appearance, if he'd been in cahoots with Helena, or if he'd been mixed up with the gunmen at the restaurant. Sam was curious where the man was, so Jason told her about what had unfolded at Sonny's house and Jordan's decision to question the mystery man at the police station. Jason warned Sam that Sonny and Carly believed the mystery man's claims, but they were wrong.

Jason's proof was that he wouldn't have left Sam's side the way that the mystery man had. Sam recalled waking up in the mystery man's arms then fainting when she'd seen the old Jason looking back at her, but she didn't share the memory with her husband. She admitted that she was tired, so Jason told her to get some rest and promised to have a surprise waiting for her when she woke up. Jason told Sam that he loved her. Sam smiled. "I love you too," she quietly replied.

A short time later, Jason checked in on his wife, but she was asleep. After he left, Sam's eyes drifted open.

Meanwhile, Jason/Patient 6 and Carly exited the elevator, but he remained uneasy about seeing Sam. Carly asked Jason to trust her and to go to Sam because Carly was certain that Sam would want to see him. Jason braced himself then slowly entered Sam's hospital room. Sam sensed his presence and opened her eyes. "It was real. It is you," she said as she stared at him in disbelief. "Yeah, it's me," Jason quietly replied as Sam's eyes welled up with tears.

11/2 On pier 55, Dr. Klein confronted Valentin about ignoring his messages, but Valentin didn't want any part of what was going on. Furious, Klein claimed that Valentin owed him, but Valentin argued that his debt had been paid in full. Klein switched tactics and pleaded with Valentin to help him get out of the country, but Valentin was livid that Klein had sent a band of trigger-happy mercenaries to Metro Court Restaurant, especially since Valentin's wife had been one of the guests at the party.

Klein declared that he'd had no idea that it would turn into a siege, but Valentin wasn't satisfied because, on his way home, he and his wife had encountered one of Klein's goons who hadn't hesitated to throw around Klein's name. Valentin made it clear that he wasn't interested in getting involved with unprofessional people.

Klein's shoulders sagged in defeat because he was a scientist, not a gangster, and he'd only been trying to fulfill his obligation to a client. He'd had no idea the price would be so steep. Klein wondered if Valentin had ever wished that he could go back and change the past. "More than you know," Valentin replied.

Klein pointed out that neither he nor Valentin was a saint then explained that he simply needed safe passage out of the country and enough money to establish a new identity. Klein knew that Valentin could make it happen and reminded Valentin that he could be an asset to Valentin in the future. Valentin smiled then made a call. Klein was grateful and promised to repay Valentin. "You can't put a price on payback," Valentin told Klein. Klein's smile faded as the words sank in.

Moments later, police sirens blared. Klein was stunned that Valentin had turned on him, but Valentin was surprised that Klein had thought he'd help after Klein had nearly gotten Valentin's wife killed. Klein decided to flee, but two police officers appeared in the alley and apprehended him. Angry, Klein accused Valentin of being a "treacherous bastard" then warned Valentin that someday, someone would double-cross Valentin.

On the pier, Andre pulled several thick folders from his shoulder bag then tossed them into a barrel. Next, he poured lighter fluid over the papers, lit a match, then tossed it into the barrel. Andre's gaze clouded with sadness as he watched his life's work burn.

In Sam's hospital room, Patient 6 stood at the foot of Sam's bed as she looked up at him. "It was real. It is you," Sam whispered. "Yeah, it's me," he softly replied. Sam's eyes filled with tears as he asked how she felt. She admitted that she felt like she had lost her mind. Patient 6 sat down next to Sam's bed then looked at her wedding ring as he gently took her hand in his. "It's me," he said as a tear slid down her cheek.

Sam argued that it didn't make sense. Patient 6 agreed. He didn't know what would happen, but he wanted her to know that she wasn't crazy. "I'm here. I'm Jason," he softly added. "Who are you?" Danny asked from the doorway. Patient 6 looked at the blond curly-headed boy and realized who he was. He stood up and introduced himself as a friend of Sam's then revealed that he'd known Danny's uncle and namesake. Danny was curious why he'd never met his mother's friend, so Patient 6 explained that he'd been gone since Danny had been a baby.

Danny frowned when he saw Sam crying, but Sam assured her son that they were tears of happiness because she was glad to see him. Danny smiled then showed his mother the card that he'd made for her. He asked Patient 6 to help him onto the bed, so Patient 6 picked Danny up. Just then, Jason appeared in the doorway.

"Let go of my son," Jason growled. Patient 6 carefully set Danny on his feet, but Danny was upset because he feared that he'd done something wrong. Jason quickly assured his son that everything was okay, but Danny was confused because he'd been told that his mother's visitor was a friend.

Carly approached the doorway and picked up on the tension. She warmly greeted Danny then talked to Sam as if everything were normal. Sam played along then suggested that Danny check out the new games in pediatrics. After Carly and Danny left, Jason warned Patient 6 to stay away from his family, or Jason would have him arrested. Patient 6 started to explain that he didn't know what had happened, but Jason cut him off because he didn't care what Patient 6 had to say, he wanted Patient 6 gone.

Jason's anger mounted as Patient 6 looked at Sam and asked her about Danny because he had noticed that Danny looked a lot like Jake. Sam's voice quivered with emotion as she explained that Franco had lied; Danny was her son with Jason. Patient 6 thanked her for telling him, but Jason had reached his limit and demanded that Patient 6 leave. Carly returned and reported that Danny was fine and having fun. Jason warned Patient 6 to go before things escalated, but Patient 6 stood his ground. Jason was hurt when Carly admitted that she had pushed Patient 6 to visit Sam.

Jason yelled that Patient 6 had nothing to say to "my wife," prompting Epiphany to enter the room to find out the source of the commotion. She was stunned when she saw Patient 6. "Well, I'll be damned," Epiphany said in disbelief. Patient 6 greeted Epiphany, but she glanced around the room then announced that everyone had to leave because Sam needed her rest. After Epiphany hustled everyone, including Jason, out the door, she looked at Sam. She acknowledged that Sam had had quite a shock and offered to get her a sedative, but Sam declined because she needed time to think.

At the nurses' station, Carly warned Patient 6 that Jason would fight to hold onto "your life." She felt terrible because she had been the one who had convinced herself and everyone else that he was Jason, but Patient 6 argued that Carly was not to blame. Carly's expression filled with love. They talked about Danny, but Patient 6 became distracted when he saw Franco and Elizabeth. Patient 6's eyes turned cold as he charged Franco and attacked. Elizabeth was shocked as Patient 6 violently beat Franco, while Carly yelled, "Jason!"

Epiphany marched over and helped Carly pull Jason away from Franco. Jason asked Carly how Franco could still be alive, but security arrived. Franco stood up then told Elizabeth that he wanted to take her home, but Patient 6 broke away from the guards and attacked again. After the two security officers pulled Patient 6 off Franco, they handcuffed Patient 6 then led him to the elevator. Carly defended Patient 6's actions by explaining that Franco had attacked Patient 6's wife, but the men ignored Carly. After the elevator closed, Jason approached Carly.

Jason had heard Carly refer to Patient 6 as Jason and asked her about it. He felt betrayed because she had easily turned against him. "If he's Jason Morgan, who does that make me?" Jason asked. Carly's eyes filled with tears because she wished that she knew.

Nearby, Elizabeth helped Franco to a bench then used a tissue to blot the blood from his battered face. "Oh, my God, he's alive," Elizabeth said, referring to Patient 6. The pieces all fell into place as she thought about her recent conversations with Franco about Jason's identical twin brother. She realized that Franco had known that Jason's twin really was alive.

In the squad room, Patient 6 remained in handcuffs as he was seated at a desk. Patient 6 instructed Carly to call Diane, but Carly thought it was ridiculous that he'd been arrested for having had a perfectly normal reaction to seeing Franco. Jason demanded to know why Franco had been walking free, so Carly decided that Diane might be the best person to explain Franco's brain tumor defense.

Patient 6 was shocked that Diane had defended Franco, but his shock turned to disbelief when Carly reluctantly filled him in about Franco's claim that he was Jason's twin, and her engagement to Franco. Carly assured Patient 6 that it had been later revealed that Franco was Heather Webber and Scott Baldwin's son.

Moments later, Klein arrived in handcuffs. Klein tensed when he saw Patient 6. Patient 6 asked Carly to call Diane and tell his attorney to take her time getting him out of jail because Sam's husband had been right about one thing. "This was a setup." Patient 6 was determined to get some answers.

Meanwhile, Jason entered Sam's hospital room. She rested on her side, and her eyes were closed, so he leaned down and softly whispered in her ear that everything would be okay. He was certain that she knew who he was. Sam's eyes opened, and her expression clouded with sadness.

11/3 Alexis found Jason sitting next to a sleeping Sam in Sam's hospital room. He told Alexis that the man who had saved Sam had claimed to be Jason Morgan. Sam woke up and said that she was happy to be alive, though she felt overwhelmed. Jason stated that the man was looking the way Jason had looked before and was an impostor.

Alexis thought that they owed him their thanks. Jason added that the man had been taken to jail for beating up Franco and had obviously done his research. Jason left to find out about getting Sam out of the hospital. Alexis asked Sam about the events of the evening. Sam recalled bits and pieces, many of them fuzzy. She remembered being stuck in the water and coughing up water on the pier. She "saw him." She was okay, and that was what mattered.

She thought that the man believed he had been telling the truth about his identity. Alexis was perturbed and asked what would happen if the man was really Jason. "Where does that leave you and your husband?" Alexis asked. A teary Sam replied that she and her husband loved each other. He was Scout's father and the only father that Danny knew. They had built a life together after taking years to get to know one another.

Elizabeth questioned Franco and realized that he had known about Jason's twin. He admitted it was true, and all of Betsy's stories had been lies except for one of them. The twin was dead. He handed Elizabeth a paper, and she looked at the death certificate as Franco explained that he had been searching under the wrong name.

He had "followed a hunch," and a friend had helped him to locate the certificate under Andrew Moore. Therefore, the stranger with Jason's face couldn't be Jason's twin, Franco concluded. Elizabeth thought that they should tell everyone everything they knew. Franco had several excuses as to why they should keep the information to themselves until everything was "sorted out."

Patient 6 was led to his cell and saw Klein in the cell opposite. He suggested that they would have a chance to talk. Klein swore that Sam had only been a diversion in order to lure Patient 6 to the pier. She wouldn't have been hurt, he said. Patient 6 reminded him that Sam had been thrown into the water. Patient 6 asked how long he had been at the clinic.

Klein growled that it had been long enough to screw things up. Klein had only been ordered to keep Patient 6 sedated and out of the way. Klein was moved out for arraignment, and Diane arrived to see Patient 6. She looked at the man and declared that they had a lot to catch up on.

Diane noted that seeing was believing, but that would be a "grotesque understatement." She believed she was looking at the real Jason Morgan, and she had always doubted that the other man had been Jason. Carly and Sonny had needed Jason to be alive, so they had trusted the other man known as Jason. She thought that details from Patient 6 filled in all the gaps. "You are the one, the only Jason Morgan," she said.

Patient 6 was happy to hear that but insisted that he was not leaving until he was done with Klein. An exasperated Diane told Patient 6 that he couldn't question Klein while surrounded by cops. She wanted him to plead temporary insanity for attacking Franco, though she understood. Patient 6 told her she'd have to find another way. He asked her to take a message to Sonny.

Jason met with Curtis at the hospital and filled him in on the mystery man. Jason told him that everyone believed that the man was Jason except for Sam. He had to know more about the man. Curtis promised to investigate for his buddy and mentioned that, according to Jordan, there were no records on file for the man. Jason suggested he start with Franco.

Jason mentioned the photo of the young boys; Jake had seen it and thought that one boy had looked like Jason. Franco had denied what Jake had said and had claimed to no longer have the photo, Jason continued. He trusted Curtis, who mentioned all the things they'd been through together. He was sorry that people were doubting Jason, and he would be there for him. Jason returned to Sam's room and announced that she could go home.

Elizabeth was signing papers and saw Monica. She told the older woman that the mystery man had attacked Franco and had been arrested. The man had done exactly what Jason would have done, Elizabeth said. Monica didn't accept that the man was really Jason, and she knew in her heart that she had already reconciled with the real Jason. Monica thought that someone else would figure it out.

Jason returned home with Sam in his arms. He admitted that he hadn't checked on their fledgling company because he had only been concerned about her. He didn't know what he would do if he ever lost her. The couple cuddled on the sofa. Jason realized that the situation had to be difficult for Sam, but he would figure things out. He would find out what the fraud wanted. That man was a stranger, but Jason said he was Sam's husband.

Patient 6 received another visitor. It was Elizabeth. They could only look at each other intently.

11/6 Jason and Sam snuggled on the sofa at home. Jason realized that Sam was having a difficult time with the situation with Patient 6, and he promised to figure things out. He was her husband, and the other man was a fraud. Sam agreed that she loved Jason, but he wanted to hear her say, "I know you're Jason Morgan." It hurt him that Sonny and Carly didn't believe him, but he was Danny and Scout's father.

Sam began to cry, but they were interrupted when Jason received a phone call from Curtis. As Jason spoke to Curtis, Sam had a flashback to her visit with Patient 6 in the hospital. Jason concluded his phone call and informed his wife that he had asked Curtis to investigate their mystery man. Curtis would send him some photos on the phone.

Jason and Sam looked at the first photo that was a shot of Franco's drawing of Patient 6, the man with Jason's old face. The second photo was of Andrew Moore's death certificate. They noticed that the boy's birthdate was the same as Jason's.

Jason and Sam burst through the door and demanded that Franco "Start talking!" Jason shouted. He wanted to know everything that Franco knew. Sam threatened to call Elizabeth. She showed Franco the photo of the death certificate they had received. Franco advised them that Andrew had been Jason's twin. He told them everything he knew. The child had died from a heart defect, he concluded. He showed them the hard copy of the certificate. Jason asked to see the photo of the two little boys.

Franco pulled out the photo and stated that it was him and his imaginary friend Drew, who was dead. He had bad news, and that was that Patient 6 was not Jason's brother. Jason was angry and wanted to kill Franco. As they headed out the door, Sam warned Franco to worry about all he'd done to Jason's family because Patient 6 would want to kill him. Franco wondered if Sam's husband knew that she believed that Patient 6 was the real Jason. Sam replied that it was her business, and she couldn't wait to see Franco "dismantled."

Out in the hallway, Jason studied the photo that he'd taken from Franco. He thought it was all crazy that the other guy claimed to be him. Then he had learned of his dead twin brother. Sam comforted him and said they'd find the truth. She had his back no matter what.

Elizabeth visited with Patient 6 in his jail cell. "I needed to see you again," she told him. "It's me, Jason," he replied. She told him about the day that Jake had seen and heard him in the park, and she was perturbed that he had done that. He said that it had been a miracle to see their son, and Elizabeth told him about Helena's participation in their son's staged death. He told her that he refused to plead insanity at Diane's suggestion.

Patient 6 added that he'd had no idea of Franco's brain tumor, and he'd meant to go after him. He would do it again, he added. Elizabeth went into detail and tried to explain how things had changed in five years, and especially how Franco had changed. Patient 6 noted that Carly had figured Franco out, and Elizabeth was offended that he believed that she hadn't. Franco was a different man, she insisted.

Elizabeth advised Patient 6 that Franco had helped a very troubled Jake and was good with all of her boys. Franco lived with them. Patient 6 insisted that nothing was changed. Elizabeth explained that Franco had been looking into his past, and she thought that Patient 6 and Jason should both be aware of it. Franco was not Patient 6's twin, but there had been another one who had been hidden. Patient 6 wondered if that explained Sam's husband.

Elizabeth didn't think either of them was Andrew because they had the death certificate. She had made a promise to herself to not lie after what she'd done to Jason. She explained that she'd found out who he was and kept him from Sam. Patient 6 understood that she had been hurting, but he believed that she had known that Jason wasn't the real Jason. Elizabeth disagreed and told him about the DNA test. Patient 6 wondered how that explained him then, and she didn't know.

11/8 At Pozzulo's, Sonny spoke to Carly on the phone about Jason/Patient 6's arrest. Carly assured Sonny that Diane would be talking to a judge later that morning and argue that Jason had had a reasonable belief that Franco had been a threat. Sonny wondered if Diane could get the charges dropped, but Carly admitted that it was unlikely. However, Diane was confident that she could persuade the judge to grant Jason bail. Sonny assured Carly that he would pay it.

Michael entered the restaurant. Sonny gave Michael an update on Jason, but Michael wondered if the man was really Jason. Sonny promised Michael that it was true then explained that it had been a setup; someone had taken Jason and had put Sam's husband in his place. Sonny added that Sam's husband, "whoever he is," was trying to hold onto a life that wasn't his. Michael admitted that he'd been avoiding the man with Jason's old face because he had no idea what to say to him. Sonny smiled and assured Michael that it was okay because Jason would understand.

In lockup, Patient 6 stood in his jail cell and stared menacingly at Klein. Klein insisted that he didn't know anything that could help Patient 6 locate Klein's boss, but Patient 6 wasn't satisfied because he was certain that Klein knew something. Moments later, a guard announced that Klein's bail had been posted. Klein perked up. Carly approached Patient 6's jail cell then asked the guard if she could have time alone with the prisoner. The guard flashed Carly a friendly smile then led Klein away.

Carly talked to Jason about his defense, but he refused to plead temporary insanity because he didn't regret attacking Franco. Carly appreciated Jason's hatred for Franco, but she assured Jason that Franco wasn't an immediate threat to anyone, and it was more important to get Jason out of jail. Jason shifted gears and asked about Sam, so Carly admitted that she intended to drop by to check on her.

Jason asked Carly to leave Sam alone, but Carly assured him that she and Sam had been friends ever since they had bonded over their grief for Jason. Jason insisted that Sam loved her husband, and Sam's husband would fight with everything he had to keep her. Jason didn't want to put Sam through that.

Carly decided that it was best to deal with one thing at a time, and getting Jason out of jail was her priority. She assured Jason that Sonny would pay the bail. Jason was touched by Sonny and Carly's generosity, but Carly assured him that they didn't mind then confided that she had gone shopping for him. Jason was alarmed when she revealed that the new clothes would be waiting for him when he was released.

At Pozzulo's, two of Sonny's guards shoved Klein into a chair in Sonny's office then stood watch in the doorway. Sonny revealed that he had posted Klein's bail then dismissed the guards. Klein nervously assured Sonny that he didn't want trouble, so Sonny demanded to know who had paid Klein. Klein explained that he'd been paid to keep a patient sedated, not to betray his boss. Sonny didn't care and asked for a name, but Klein admitted that he had no idea who his boss was because his only contact with the man had been through phone calls.

Sonny looked at Klein's phone, but he noticed that it was a burner phone and untraceable. Sonny decided that he and Klein would wait for Klein's boss to call. Desperate, Klein tried to bargain with Sonny by offering to help Sonny's friends if Sonny helped Klein start over somewhere far away from Port Charles.

Sonny admitted that he'd seen Ava and wasn't impressed with Klein's work. Klein tried to defend himself, but Patient 6/Jason arrived. Klein's eyes rounded with fear. Jason wanted to know who'd been responsible for his abduction, but Klein assured Jason that he would tell if he knew because the man was a threat to both Jason and Klein. Moments later, Klein's cell phone rang.

11/9 In Sonny's office, Klein's burner phone rang. Patient 6 instructed Klein to keep his boss on the line as long as possible, and Sonny instructed Klein to set up a meeting. Klein answered and put the call on speakerphone. The caller was speaking with distortion, so the voice was unrecognizable. Klein lied that he was out of jail because his charges had been dropped. He explained that he needed to update his boss on Patient 6, so he needed to set up a face-to-face meeting.

Klein maintained that his boss owed him "an escape and a fresh start," but the boss was suspicious. "You're on your own," the boss said, and the line went dead. Klein insisted that he'd tried, and he wondered what Sonny and Patient 6 were going to do to him. Sonny left it up to the patient and warned Klein that actions had consequences. Sonny handed Klein's phone to an associate to take to Brick.

Klein knew that Patient 6 wanted to kill him, but he wondered if there was anything he could do to stay alive. "Maybe," the patient said. Patient 6 wanted Klein to complete Ava's treatment -- or at least provide the information to make sure her treatment was completed. A shocked Klein told the patient that the information was worth billions, so Ava could return to Russia. Patient 6 told Klein that Klein would put the information on a flash drive, and then the patient would decide what to do with Klein. Klein reluctantly agreed and asked for a computer in order to access his records.

Klein finished with the flash drive and handed it back to Patient 6. The patient grabbed the flash drive and sat down to write a note. Sonny returned and announced that there was no word from Brick yet about the phone. The patient had "something to take care of," so he advised Sonny to do whatever he wanted with Klein. When the patient was gone, Sonny decided to see if he had a use for Klein.

A few minutes later, Sonny got off the phone with Brick. He told Klein that he could leave, and he'd better leave fast. Sonny revealed that, while he didn't have an exact location, Klein's boss had been tracked to somewhere in Port Charles.

Sam descended the stairs with a baby monitor when Jason entered. He wanted to talk to her about getting security for Danny because of the man claiming to be Jason. Sam reminded him that the stranger had saved her life, so she didn't think he meant any harm. Jason reiterated that the man was trying to take over his life, especially since Sonny and Carly already believed him. He wondered about Sam. Sam admitted that she had mixed feelings because of the man's face, but she made it clear that she loved her husband.

Jason admitted that he'd gone to see Betsy, but she had cleared out of the house, and no one knew where she'd gone. Jason wanted to know that he and Sam had a future. She assured him that nothing had changed because they were "still us." She divulged that Danny had asked about the man, and Sam had placated him. Jason wished she'd handled the stranger's appearance better. He believed that the man was being coached, which meant that he had an agenda.

Jason wondered if Andrew Moore's death certificate had been faked and if the stranger was actually his twin. Sam assured him that there would be a DNA test, so they would just have to wait for the results. She suggested that he go for a ride to clear his head, and he agreed. He kissed her and left. A short while later, there was a knock on the door, and Sam answered it to Patient 6.

11/10 Carly expressed her guilt over forcing Sonny to accept Jake Doe as Jason. He didn't blame her. Carly thought they needed to get in touch with Sam's husband so they could tell him about everything that had been going on with Klein. Carly felt as though they'd stabbed Jason in the back by not talking to him. He had been a good friend.

Jason ended up at the Quartermaine crypt and spoke to his brother. Jason felt that he could no longer be sure of anything. Monica walked in. She had been informed of an intruder on the property but had seen Jason's motorcycle. She'd heard what Jason had said and told him he was always welcome. She was glad that she hadn't spoken to the man with Jason's old face yet. Jason swore that he had never lied to her and never would. He was her son. Monica hugged him and told him he'd always be her son.

Jason told a surprised Monica that Susan Moore had given birth to twin boys and had given one son up. Monica was angry about the "greedy, gold-digging tramp" and her cousin. Jason didn't know anything, but he would find out. She promised that he would always have her and their home.

After Jason left, Monica remained behind with her thoughts. She recalled meeting Jason with the new face and how she had wanted to build a relationship with him. She also had a flashback to a very young Jason who had told her he loved her. She walked over to Alan's tomb and told him that she wished he could be there to see a miracle.

Patient 6 arrived at Sam's place, and she reluctantly let him inside. "Is he here?" the man asked. Sam quickly assured him that Jason was out, but she didn't think it was good for Patient 6 to be there. Suddenly, they heard the baby crying. "That would be my daughter, Scout," Sam announced. She ran upstairs to get her.

"She's beautiful," Patient 6 acknowledged. Sam told him that the little girl, Emily Scout, was named after Patient 6's sister. He was moved, thought that his sister would have loved it, and thanked Sam, who told him how the name had originated. Patient 6 could see that Sam had a couple of beautiful children and was happy with her life.

Sam pointed out that two men thought they were the same person. Patient 6 explained that he'd had no idea that Sam had thought her husband was him. He told her where he'd been for five years and how he'd lost track of time. He'd always loved Danny and had thought of him as their son. He told her about his trip back to Port Charles.

Sam told Patient 6 about her father and how he and Alexis had met. She noted that he had been living with another identity, Derek Wells. She added that he had been an "abusive pig," but her mother still loved him. It was the kind of love that "just is," and one couldn't stop it or deny it. Sometimes, a person had to accept that another person couldn't be in one's life, she concluded.

Sam ran to get Scout a bottle, and Patient 6 leaned over and picked the little girl up from the playpen. "I was almost your father," he told her. He told the baby about the big sister she no longer had, named Lila, who had led Jason and Sam to each other. That had been the kind of love that "just is," Patient 6 added. Just then, Jason walked in. He shouted for Patient 6 to put his daughter down and get away from her, or Jason would kill him.

Patient 6 gently put the baby down as Sam ran into the room with the bottle. Jason loudly ordered him to stay away, and the baby began to cry. Sonny and Carly walked through the door. Jason wanted Patient 6 gone. "No, we can't keep doing this," Sam implored. She thought that they needed to work things out.

Jordan arrived in the midst of the commotion and announced that she had the DNA results for both men. Jason was quite angry that he hadn't given permission, but Jordan assured him that she hadn't needed it for her case. She was aware that previous tests could have been manipulated. As everyone held their breath, Jordan proclaimed that both men were DNA matches for Jason Morgan.

11/13 At Sam's place, Jordan made the announcement that the DNA tests run on both men proved that they were both matches for Jason Morgan. She had had the test run multiple times. Everyone was shocked. "We must be identical twins," Jason stated. He accused Patient 6 of wanting to steal his life, but Patient 6 informed the group that he had just learned about the twins from Elizabeth. Sonny and Carly were the most shocked and confused. Jason told everyone as much as he knew.

Jason had seen the photo of the boys; one had been sent to Port Charles and the other raised by Betsy, who had then sent him away. He had gone to see Betsy, but her place had been cleared out. "Now we know why," he added. "Drew?" Jason said, looking at Patient 6. Jason thought that Patient 6 had fooled everyone, and he'd never do such a thing. Patient 6 retorted that he only knew how to be Jason. Sonny assumed that both men were telling the truth as they knew it, and Carly asked about fingerprints. Jordan stated that Helena had had Jason's fingerprints erased from files. She would put out a bulletin on Betsy. Sam had an idea.

As Franco, Scott, and Elizabeth talked, there was a knock on the front door. It was Jason, Sam, Patient 6, and Jordan, who was there to keep the peace. Franco told them it wasn't a good time and tried to close the door, but the group walked inside. Jason told Franco about the DNA results, and Franco couldn't believe it. Sam asked if anything had been left out, and everyone waited for Franco to speak. "Actually, there is," he finally said.

Franco told his visitors that he had never fully believed Betsy's story and had thought there was a possibility that Andrew was still alive. He had been seeing Andre professionally, and he'd thought it strange when Andre had presented him with Andrew's death certificate. He'd gone back to talk to Andre about it, but Andre had been gone and his office empty. A surprised Jordan announced that she would put out an APB on Andre. Franco believed that Andre could be anywhere.

After everyone was gone, Franco looked at a document of the two Jasons and tossed it into the fire. Outside, Patient 6 told the others that he thought Franco had been lying. Sam stopped the two men from bickering and told them that they were brothers, no matter what.

Carly and Sonny stopped at the Floating Rib for much-needed drinks. Carly felt that Sam felt responsible to Jason, who was Andrew. They had built a life together, but it was more complicated with the children in the picture. The two men would have to accept things as they were. Sonny felt that Jason or Patient 6 would be willing to give things up for Sam's happiness. Carly thought that Franco held the key.

11/14 At Sam and Jason's penthouse, Patient 6 stood on the balcony. He turned when he heard Sam arrive home, but his smile vanished when Jason followed his wife. Patient 6 ducked out of sight, but his temper flared as Jason nuzzled Sam's neck. In a fit of rage, Patient 6 charged into the penthouse with his gun blazing. Jason collapsed as several bullets struck him in the chest. Horrified, Sam rushed to her husband's side. "Jason! What have you done?" Sam asked at she looked at Patient 6 with tears in her eyes. "I love him," she explained. Patient 6 woke up screaming from the nightmare.

A short time later, Carly impatiently knocked on a hotel room door. Patient 6 opened it as he assured Carly, "I'm here." Carly sagged with relief, and she threw herself into Jason's arms. She apologized for the way she had behaved, but she warned him that it would take a while for her to get used to having him back. Jason closed the door then confessed that he liked that she was glad to see him. Carly's voice filled with emotion as she told Jason how much she had missed him. He was sorry that he hadn't been there, but Carly insisted that they focus on getting his life back.

Carly felt responsible for the mess that Jason was in because she had handed his life to his brother, Drew. Carly's eyes filled with fresh tears as she assured Jason that she had never seen Jason looking back at her when she had looked into Drew's eyes, no matter how hard she had tried. She regretted that she hadn't had the courage to face the truth sooner because Jason wouldn't be sitting on the outside of his life, watching Sam go home with Drew.

Jason quietly reminded Carly that Sam loved her husband, so he couldn't move against his brother without hurting Sam. Carly explained that he needed to talk to Diane, who was waiting in the restaurant. Carly acknowledged that Jason's fingerprints had been wiped clean from the Port Charles police department's system, but he'd been arrested over fifty times prior to his disappearance in 2012.

She was confident that they could persuade the department's cold case unit to help sift through the files, but Jason asked Carly to stop because he didn't care if he got his name back as long as he was home. He invited Carly to pick another name for him, but she argued that he was Jason Morgan. She wanted him to fight for himself -- and for Sam. Jason frowned then told Carly about his nightmare. Carly agreed that it had been terrible, but she reminded him that it had just been a dream.

Jason explained that he didn't want Sam caught in the middle, but Carly argued that it was unavoidable because the only way out for Sam was for Sam to make a real choice. Carly insisted that Drew would have to accept who he was, and Sam had to decide if she wanted to be with Drew or with Jason. Moments later, someone knocked on the door. It was Monica. Carly reminded Jason to talk to Diane then left. Monica's eyes welled up with tears as she looked at Jason. He smiled at his mother then invited her to sit, but she admitted that she just wanted to look at him.

"I'm so happy to see you," Monica told Jason as her voice quivered with emotion. She admitted that he looked well, but she had expected him to stay with Sonny. Jason confessed that he had wanted to be on his own. Monica smiled because Jason had always been independent. Monica suddenly apologized because she realized that she wasn't being fair to his twin by acknowledging that his twin wasn't Jason. But she also knew that it wasn't fair to Jason to not recognize him as her son. Jason assured Monica that whatever she decided was okay.

Monica revealed that she kept reminding herself that Jason and his twin were both Alan's sons. She didn't want to dwell on how angry she was at both Susan and Heather, but Jason reminded his mother that Susan was dead and that Heather was evil. Monica explained that she was furious that Heather had allowed Alan's son to grow up away from his family because things might have been different for everyone.

Jason assured Monica that he liked his life, but he admitted that he'd been unfair to the Quartermaines, especially Monica. Monica disagreed because Jason had been confused after the accident, and they had mishandled everything. Monica feared that she was mishandling things again, but she assured him that she loved him.

"I love you, too," Jason told his mother. Overjoyed, Monica hugged her son. A short time later, Jason walked his mother to the door. She admitted that she loved his twin, too, and she hoped that Jason and his twin could find a way to be brothers. Jason didn't think it was possible, but Monica reminded him that he had a gift for making the impossible possible.

At Jason and Sam's penthouse, Sam entered the living room as she called out to Jason. Jason pulled on his jacket as his wife approached. She was curious where he'd been all night, so he admitted that he'd spent the night in the living room because he'd had a lot on his mind and hadn't wanted to wake her. Sam was curious if he had reached a conclusion. He acknowledged that he had a brother, but he refused to let his twin take his life.

Sam assured her husband that she supported him. Jason was grateful because he feared that they were in for a fight, since Sonny and Carly intended to back his twin with everything they had. Sam assured Jason that his brother wouldn't cause trouble for them, but Jason became defensive because he was certain that "Drew" was in Port Charles to take everything that Jason and Sam had built. Sam promised Jason that she had his back.

Jason thanked Sam, but he assured her that he was the real Jason, and there was nothing his brother could do to prove otherwise. Sam doubted that Jason's twin would be interested in Aurora Media, but Jason refused to take any chances because he feared that Sonny would push "Drew" to stake a claim. Jason wanted to make certain that he and Sam established clear ownership of the media empire before it went to court. Sam agreed that it was a good idea, but she gently reminded Jason that he and his twin shared the same DNA and the same family.

Jason bristled because he didn't intend to share his wife and children with his twin. Sam promised that Jason wouldn't have to, but Jason wondered how she could be certain of that. Sam reminded Jason that they were fighting Sonny, not Jason's brother, and she was confident that Sonny would never put the children in the middle of the fight. Jason hoped she was right. Their conversation returned to Aurora Media because Jason had an appointment to interview a man named Peter August for the CEO position.

Jason handed Peter's résumé to Sam then offered to let her have the final interview if things went well. Sam was interested because she recalled that Peter had run a publishing firm in New York City. After Sam walked Jason to the door then kissed him goodbye, she wandered over to the stairs and sat down as she recalled a night long before when she had been drunk and had persuaded Jason to dance with her.

A short time later, Carly arrived to talk to Sam about Jason. She asked if Sam's husband was there, so Sam assured Carly that they were alone. Relieved, Carly admitted that she wouldn't be much of a friend if she stood by and watched Sam make a mistake. Sam denied that she was, but Carly apologized to Sam for pressuring Sam to be with someone. Sam cut Carly off because she'd chosen to be with Jason, but Carly argued that Sam's husband wasn't Jason -- and Sam knew it. Carly appreciated that Sam couldn't say the words, but Carly could.

Carly recognized that "Andrew" was a good man because he was kind and he loved Sam. However, he wasn't Jason, and deep down inside, Sam had always known it and had made excuses for why Jason had seemed different. Carly had felt the same way, but she'd hadn't been able to deny the truth when she'd seen Jason appear at Sonny's house with Sam in his arms. Carly insisted that she could recognize Jason anywhere, and she was certain that the same was true for Sam. Carly knew the only reason that Sam wouldn't say it was because of her loyalty to the man Sam had slept with the previous night.

"I didn't sleep with anyone last night," Sam confessed. She explained that her husband had been up all night, trying to figure out what to do about his twin, who had shown up out of nowhere, and what to do about Sonny and Carly, the two people he'd thought were his best friends, who were trying to take everything from him, including Sam and the children.

Carly was unapologetic, but she pointed out that it was ultimately up to Sam because Sam had to make the choice. Carly was sorry for that because she knew that Andrew would fight for Sam with everything he had, but Jason wouldn't. Carly explained that it wasn't in Jason's nature, so he'd back off until Sam needed him because all that mattered to him was Sam's happiness.

A tear slid down Sam's face as Carly warned that it wouldn't make Sam happy. Carly conceded that Andrew was a good man, and he loved Sam, but Jason owned Sam's heart and soul -- and Sam owned Jason's. Carly realized that admitting it would be the hardest thing that Sam had ever done, but it would be best for everyone, especially Andrew. After Carly left, Sam recalled how she and Jason had tumbled to the floor during their dance then shared a passionate kiss.

At Metro Court Restaurant, Jason arrived for his meeting with Peter August. After Jason shook the young man's hand, they sat down at the bar and talked about Peter's work history. Jason was curious how Peter had become available just when Jason and Sam had been looking for someone with Peter's impressive background. Peter admitted that he'd been ready to return from Europe, so he'd decided to act when he'd heard about the sale of Derek Wells Media.

Peter knew that Derek Wells Media had been horribly mismanaged, with the exception of Crimson, but Peter was confident that they could turn things around. Jason agreed and revealed that it was the reason he and his wife had changed the name to Aurora Media. Peter seized the opportunity to ask if Jason was really Jason Morgan. Peter explained that he'd heard that Jason had acquired Derek Wells Media under the name Jason Morgan, but there were rumors that it might not be his true identity.

Jason revealed that he'd recently had a twin surface, and there were rumblings that his twin wanted what belonged to Jason, but there wasn't any proof to back up his brother's claims. Satisfied, Peter asked if Jason needed anything else. Jason thanked Peter for his time then promised to be in touch to schedule a final interview with Sam.

After Peter left, Jason stopped off at Diane's table. He apologized for not returning her call earlier, but he'd been busy. He assumed that Diane had heard about his twin, but Diane cut Jason off and explained that she could no longer represent him because she no longer believed that he was the real Jason Morgan. Jason was disappointed that Diane had fallen for his brother's lies, but he warned her not to share any of his files with his brother, or she would be disbarred.

Diane assured him that his files had already been sealed and were ready to be forwarded. Jason instructed her to send them to his office at Aurora Media then advised her to warn her client to stay away from Sam and the children. Diane quietly explained that her client was the real Jason Morgan, and she looked forward to proving it. "Go to hell," Jason growled then stormed away. His mood didn't improve when he saw his twin exit the elevator. Jason told his brother that Diane was waiting then left.

Diane warmly greeted Patient 6, who she believed was Jason, then explained that his twin wasn't happy that she intended to prove that her client was the real Jason Morgan. Jason told her that it was just a name, and he didn't want to get into a fight over it, but Diane asked Jason to heed her advice.

She explained that he had to proceed from a position of strength because his assets and name were under a cloud, they didn't belong to Jason or his twin. She revealed that he would have to stake a claim on his name, assets, and property, but once he established that, then he could do whatever he wanted with it, including signing it all over to Sam. Jason agreed to do whatever was necessary, so Diane told him that they would have to subpoena the case files of his very first arrest in 1996.

11/16 At Metro Court Restaurant, Patient 6/Jason was certain that the person responsible for his abduction was also connected to his brother. Sonny agreed. Jason wondered who Helena's accomplice was, so Sonny admitted there were two possibilities: Cesar Faison, who was in hiding with his daughter, and Liesl Obrecht. Sonny explained that Liesl was out of town, but he intended to pay her a visit when she returned.

The conversation shifted when Jason asked about Sonny's business. Sonny admitted that it had been a strange year, and he told Jason about his efforts to go legitimate. Sonny had hoped that Perks would be the answer, but Jason had no idea what Perks was. Sonny's smile was bittersweet as he filled Jason in about the coffee kiosk that Kristina and Morgan had been excited about running. Jason's expression clouded with sadness because he couldn't believe that Morgan was gone.

Sonny confided that he should have known the truth about Sam's husband when Morgan had died. Sonny promised that Jason's brother was a decent and understanding guy, and he conceded that they wouldn't have known the truth about how Morgan had died if it hadn't been for Sam's husband, but the man hadn't taken Morgan's death has hard as Jason had. Sonny talked about Morgan's struggle with bipolar disorder and the guilt that Sonny had felt for passing the illness to his son, but Jason insisted that it wasn't Sonny's fault.

Sonny promised that Morgan had received treatment, and he'd done the work to get better. "Till that bitch took him away," Sonny growled. Jason admitted that Carly had been reluctant to share the details of Morgan's death, so Sonny agreed that it would be best to delay the painful conversation. Moments later, Carly walked up, and her eyes filled with tears of happiness when she saw Sonny and Jason. She admitted that it was everything she had wished for but had never thought would happen.

Carly sat down and told Sonny that she had invited Oscar's mother to Thanksgiving dinner. Sonny worried that it had been a mistake, but Carly waved away his concerns and asked him to help make a good impression. Sonny's phone rang, so he offered to let the guards spend the holiday with their families then stepped away to take the call.

Carly shared her concerns about Oscar's mother with Jason, but he assured her that Oscar's mother would see what great parents Sonny and Carly were. Carly was happy to have Jason back because he never judged her. After Carly stepped away to get something to drink, Jason saw Griffin and Ava enter the restaurant. He approached the couple and thanked Griffin for helping him in Russia then asked if Ava had received the gift he'd left for her. Carly returned as they were chatting and demanded to know why Jason was talking to Ava.

Jason explained that Ava was the patient who had helped him escape from the clinic in Russia, but Carly revealed that Ava was also the reason that Morgan was dead. Shocked, Jason looked to Ava for an explanation, but Carly provided the answer when she revealed that Ava had used the pretext of visiting Avery to slip into Morgan's bedroom and switch out his lithium with placebos. Jason was furious and demanded to know why. Ava's eyes welled up with tears as she admitted that she'd been desperate to protect her daughter Kiki because Morgan had been incapable of having a healthy relationship. Sonny returned as Ava insisted that she had assumed that Sonny and Carly would notice that their son needed treatment and get Morgan help.

Ava added that if Sonny and Carly had paid more attention to their son, then Morgan would still be alive. "Enough!" Jason shouted. He informed Ava that Morgan had been his godson. Jason acknowledged that he'd been indebted to Ava, but the debt had been paid, and they were done. Jason walked away without a backward glance.

Carly walked away and joined Sonny and Jason at a nearby table. Sonny noticed that Carly and Ava had continued to exchange words, but Carly assured him that she was fine. Jason apologized to Carly. Carly regretted putting him on the spot, but she was glad that he knew the truth about Ava. Sonny pointed out that Jason had a lot to catch up on, but Jason admitted that he needed some time to clear his head.

On the footbridge, Jason heard the leaves rustling. He looked up then smiled with joy.

11/17 Jason found Curtis working out on the punching bag at the gym and asked if Curtis had found any evidence to indicate that Jason was really Jason. Curtis told Jason that Betsy Frank's trail had suddenly gone cold, but he was optimistic that her credit cards would be used at some point. Jason asked if Curtis had visited Heather Webber?

Curtis nodded but said that Heather had taken some sort of vow of silence to repent and had not spoken to anyone in months. Jason suggested that Curtis look into Andre, who had taken off after Patient 6 had shown up in Port Charles. Curtis was shocked but was certain he would be able to locate the doctor.

Elizabeth called Jason and asked him to see her about Jake. Jason left the gym, and Jordan arrived shortly after. She needed Curtis to help her, and she asked him to look for Andre. Curtis gloated over the fact that Jordan had dropped him for the "Ivy League" man but announced that someone else had already requested the same thing.

Jason got to Elizabeth's house, and she revealed that she'd wanted to see him so that they could tell Jake about Jason's twin. She thought the boy should know after seeing Patient 6 in the park. Jason was against it, but when Jake bounced down the stairs in his pajamas, Jason looked at Elizabeth and sighed. They told the boy about the twins, and he wasn't surprised.

Jason explained that the other man thought he was Jason, and other people believed him. "I'm your father," Jason said. He knew that Elizabeth believed him. She looked on uneasily as Jason spoke.

Nina visited with Sam in the Aurora office to discuss the Crimson budget. Sam explained that Jason wasn't there to discuss the budget. Nina reminded Sam that she was co-owner "with Jas or whoever he is?" Nina explained that if Sam's Jason wasn't the real Jason, the entire company "could be in flux." Sam snapped that the matter wasn't Nina's business. Nina sat down in a chair and explained to Sam that she understood what it was it was like to wake up and learn that years had passed and that lives had moved on.

Sam countered that things hadn't just been hard for Jason. Nina quickly interrupted and commented that when she and Sam had been fighting over Silas, she never would have thought that she and Sam would be working together. Nina said that she knew that neither one of them was the same person that they had been three years earlier. Nina understood that Sam was hurting and torn with all that had been going on. She urged Sam to talk to her if she needed someone to talk to.

Sam said she wasn't afraid of what was going on, and Nina asked if she were in love with two different men. Sam insisted that she was in love with her husband, and that was all that mattered. They had shared a life together. Nina asked if it was the present life or the way it had been. Sam again insisted that she loved her husband and was committed to him and their business. Nina left and was horrified when she looked at a phone message. Sam looked at a photo of her and Jason and thought back to the recent conversation with Patient 6 about not being able to be with the person one loved.

Patient 6 stood quietly on the footbridge. The sound of snapping twigs diverted his pensive stare. He looked to his left and saw Robin. "Somehow, I knew you'd be here," she said. Jason said that when he'd learned from Sonny that Robin was still alive, he hadn't been able to believe it. Robin responded that she'd been equally shocked to learn that Jason was back with his old face. Jason assured Robin that everything was going to be okay. "How can this be?" Robin asked. Jason assured Robin that he was the real Jason but then asked her if she believed him.

Robin struggled to find an answer. She recalled how the Jason Morgan she'd known had helped her escape from an elevator that had been rigged with a bomb. "He sure has his heart and his spirit," Robin said of the man she had believed was Jason, asking, "I mean, who else could he be?" Patient 6 replied that the man was his brother... his twin brother.

Patient 6 told Robin about the identical twin situation, insisting, "He's not me, Robin." He was the one who had been there for all of their memories, and he was thrilled to see that she was alive and well. He wanted her to believe him because that would be the "icing on the cake." Robin thought back to when they'd used that term right before he'd kissed her many years in the past. It was "better than the best," Patient 6 said. "Oh, my God, it's you," Robin said as she hugged him.

Robin suggested a play date with her son and Scout but realized her blunder. Scout wasn't the man's daughter. Patient 6 was just delighted that everyone was happy. Robin thought it was good that her friend had sympathy and felt sorry for Sam. If Sam admitted that Patient 6 was Jason, then that would make the last few years a lie. Patient 6 revealed that Diane had been going through all of his old arrests, searching for fingerprint records. He didn't care about his name; he was only interested in finding out who had done this to him.

Franco returned home but saw Jason talking to Elizabeth, so he hid in the bushes and watched. Jason thanked Elizabeth for believing him and gave her a big hug.
