Jason & Sam #30 August 29 - December 13, 2011: 8 hour original edit

DVD #30A In Monica's fantasy, she was in the Quartermaine mansion when she told Edward, Alan, and Tracy that Jason's brain was swelling and that surgery would not help. Monica said that she could not believe how badly the night had turned out. Monica blamed Tracy, who said that Jason had done it to himself. Monica said that the Quartermaines had pushed Jason and that had resulted in tragedy. Tracy protested that it had not been her fault but Jason's choice. A version of Jason clad in jeans and a black tee shirt approached the watching Monica and said that he had not wanted the tragedy to occur.

As Carly’s fantasy continued, Carly rushed outside and found Michael dead. She grieved and wondered what had been the point of giving him up if he was going to die anyway. Jason comforted her and said that Carly had done all she could for Michael. Jason assured Carly that Michael had not hated her. Jason said that Carly had given up too much for Jason. Jason told Carly that he could not stand to see her die for him. Jason told Carly that he had to let her go so that she could live. A tearful Carly told a departing Jason that she would have nothing if he left. The jeans-clad Jason asked the watching Carly why she was cutting herself open over things that could never happen. Jason told Carly that she did not want anything different than what they had. Carly asked how Jason knew that. Jason replied that it was because he knew Carly.

In Elizabeth’s fantasy, Jason returned to their apartment in a wheelchair. Elizabeth tried to take care of him, but Jason told her she was stuck, just like he was stuck in the chair. When Elizabeth tried to comfort him, Jason said that all he wanted to do was to be free, and Elizabeth had wanted them tied together and they were. Elizabeth said she was trying to be supportive. Jason said that Elizabeth did not get it. Jason yelled that he would rather put a bullet in his head than live like he was living. Jeans-clad Jason walked up to the watching Elizabeth and told her that everything that had happened was his fault. Elizabeth said that she had never known Jason. Jason told her that he was not the man she needed.

As Sam’s fantasy continues, after the doctor's visit, Sam got her camera. She wanted a picture of Jason when she told him the doctor's news. Sam said that she was perfectly healthy and pregnant. Jason was overjoyed to find out that he was going to be a father. When Jason appeared to the watching Sam, he asked if being pregnant was what she wanted. Sam said yes. Jason said that as long as he was with her, he had everything that he wanted, because all he wanted was Sam and her happiness. In the OR, Patrick located the object in Jason's brain, removed it, and called for a clamp.

Sam found comfort in Jason's hospital bed, looking at photos of him. Monica sat in her living room, holding a picture of Alan. Monica told Alan how much she missed him. Monica asked Alan to take care of Jason and give Jason the strength to get through the surgery successfully. Monica said that she could not lose Jason again. In the OR, Patrick declared that the surgery was over, and they had done it.

Monica joined Edward in the waiting room and told him that the house was too lonely to stay in alone. Edward was smiling when he said that there were not enough Quartermaines left to have a really good argument. Monica and Edward laughed as they recalled some of them. Edward said that for all their faults, they had been a family. Edward wondered what would have happened if Jason had not been involved in the first accident. Edward wondered if Jason would have been like the rest of them. Monica said that they had no way of knowing and that she was not sure she would change anything, even if she could. Robin gathered Sam, Monica, Carly, Edward, and Michael to hear the results of Jason's surgery. Patrick was very professional when he told those gathered that his team had found and removed the foreign particle from Jason's brain. Sam asked the question on everyone's mind when she quietly inquired if Jason would be okay.

8/30 At the hospital, Sam wept as she stared at Jason's empty bed. Sonny walked in a few minutes later, and then asked where Jason was. Sam explained that Jason had undergone surgery, but he remained unconscious, so they had no idea if the surgery had been a success. Sonny decided to increase the number of guards on everyone to prevent anyone from taking advantage of the situation, but Sam revealed that Jason had taken care of it before the surgery. Sam explained that Jason had been concerned about Sonny's state of mind just as Alexis entered the room.

Alexis noted that Jason had been right to be worried about Sonny because Jax was missing, and might be dead. Sonny warned Alexis that he had already heard it from Carly and Robin, so Alexis could save her breath. Sam decided to check on Jason, rather than listen to Alexis and Sonny argue. Kristina stepped off of the elevator, and then called out to her sister when she spotted Sam sitting in the lounge area of the hospital. Sam stood up to greet her sister, but then quickly grew concerned when Kristina suddenly swayed on her feet, and then dropped a stack of books. Sam quickly scooped up the books as Kristina dismissed the dizzy spell as a bout of clumsiness.

Kristina deftly changed the subject by revealing that the books were travel brochures for romantic honeymoon getaways. Sam confessed that her September 23rd wedding might have to be postponed, but Kristina insisted that Sam needed to make a decision about the wedding dress because Kristina was eager to be "a Pippa to [Sam's] Kate." Kristina was delighted when Sam smiled. However, Sam's smile faded when she noticed that Kristina's neck seemed to be bothering Kristina. Kristina blamed it on a yoga class, and then turned the focus on Alexis by revealing that she had tried to talk their mother into attending the class with her because Alexis needed to relax. Sam confided that Alexis might benefit from a yoga class later that evening because Alexis and Sonny had been arguing in Jason's room.

In the hospital's chapel, Sam confessed to God that the wedding plans were getting out of control, which was not what Jason had wanted. Sam broke down in tears as she begged God to let Jason survive.

8/31 At the hospital, Milo stood guard in the hallway as Robin exited Jason's room. Patrick walked up, eager to check on his patient, but Robin explained that it wasn't necessary because she had already done it. Patrick insisted on examining Jason anyway, but Robin pulled rank. She assured Patrick that she had everything under control, so she needed Patrick to focus on another patient. Patrick bristled at being denied access to his patient, so Robin warned him that she resented Patrick questioning her decisions. After Patrick stormed off, Robin confided to Milo that she hadn't lied about needing Patrick to check on another patient. Milo assured Robin that he understood. Seconds later, Maxie arrived to see Jason and Sam. Robin and Milo blocked Maxie from entering the room. Maxie explained that she was there to give Sam the engagement ring that Jason had picked out for Sam, but Robin and Milo stood firm. Maxie marched off in a huff.

9/1 At the hospital, Patrick caught Anthony sneaking into Jason’s room. Anthony claimed that he had wanted to pay his respects to Jason, and to deliver an orchid to cheer Jason up, as Patrick unceremoniously dragged Anthony out of the room. Anthony was curious why he couldn't visit Jason, so Patrick explained that Anthony wasn't a family member. Anthony chuckled as he revealed that Patrick reminded him of a guard that Anthony had known in Pentonville; Anthony was curious how the guard's widow was doing. Patrick assured Anthony that Anthony's veiled threat didn't scare him. Anthony was certain that he knew what would frighten Patrick, but Patrick ignored the remark as Sonny walked up to ask if there was a problem.

Anthony flashed a saccharine smile as he explained that he had stopped by to drop off an orchid for Jason, to honor the peace that Sonny had made with Johnny. Anthony rattled off the instructions on how to properly care for the orchid as he extended it to Sonny. Sonny refused to take it because he tended to kill things that required that much care. Anthony advised Sonny to be more careful about a lot of things, including Jason, because Jason had done more for Sonny than Sonny realized. Patrick grew weary of the exchange between the mobsters, so he ordered Anthony to leave. Anthony was curious how Jason was doing, but Patrick insisted that the information was restricted.

Anthony offered the orchid to Patrick to give to Robin for her new office, but Patrick refused to accept the gift. After Anthony left, Sonny advised Patrick not to get involved in something that didn't concern Patrick. Patrick was stunned; he pointed out that he had kept Anthony from whacking Jason. Moments later, Steve and Robin joined Patrick and Sonny in the hallway. Patrick was shocked when Steve revealed that Jason wasn't in the room. Steve explained that the person in Jason's bed was a decoy, intended to lure Anthony into making a move. Patrick demanded to know if Robin had known about the sting operation. Robin confessed that she had found out after she had discovered that a decoy had been placed in Jason's hospital room. Patrick was furious that Sonny had dragged the mob war into the hospital. Sonny explained that it had been out of his hands, and then left.

9/2 Sam sat by Jason's bedside, begging him to wake up. She talked about plans for their honeymoon but told him that she'd be willing to cancel their wedding if only he'd recover from surgery. Kristina popped in to get an update on Jason's condition. Kristina put her foot in her mouth several times as she tried to reassure her sister. Kristina equated her relationship with Ethan to Sam and Jason's. Sam suggested that Ethan and Kristina's feelings were not reciprocal. Kristina blamed all of her relationship woes on Sonny before storming out of the hospital.

Spinelli arrived and demanded to see "Morgan," and Sam allowed him to visit Jason. Spinelli was overcome with emotion and began to recover some of his memories. After he left, Sam returned to Jason's bedside and admitted she was scared that Spinelli's mental health was deteriorating. To her relief, Jason began to regain consciousness.

9/6 In Jason's hospital room, Sam was relieved when Jason woke up. She wondered how he was feeling, so Jason admitted that he wasn't sure. Sam was curious what Jason recalled, but Jason admitted that everything was jumbled. Sam told him about Jax, and the car crash. Afterwards, she tried to determine if Jason knew the date. Patrick entered the room before Jason could reply. Patrick ordered Sam to step out of the room, so she reluctantly waited in the hallway while Patrick examined Jason. Sam took the opportunity to thank God for saving Jason's life, but she begged Him to let Jason be the man that she had fallen in love with.

Meanwhile, Patrick quickly concluded that Jason was on the road to recovery, so Patrick invited Sam back into the room. Sam relaxed when Jason revealed that the last thing that he recalled was Sam promising to wait for him. Patrick was confident that Jason would be fine, so Jason wondered when he could leave the hospital. Patrick insisted that he wanted Jason out of the hospital as soon as possible, because Patrick was tired of Jason's bodyguards, and thugs skulking the hallways with murderous intent, but Jason's health was more important.

Sam resented Patrick remarks about the mob, but Patrick insisted that he was just letting Jason know what had been going on while Jason had been unconscious. Jason had no idea what they were talking about, so Patrick informed Jason that Sonny was out of control, and that Anthony had made an attempt on Jason's life. Sam warned Patrick that Jason would try to save Sonny, but Patrick ordered Jason to stay put. Patrick explained that the surgery had been extremely difficult, so he refused to discharge Jason until Patrick was certain that Jason was strong enough to leave. Sam explained that Jason didn't respond well to orders, so Patrick promised Jason a speedy recovery if Jason followed Patrick's instructions.

Sam grumbled about Patrick's horrible bedside manners after Patrick left the room, but stopped when she noticed that Jason was trying to get out of bed. Sam demanded to know where Jason was going, so Jason explained that he intended to leave. Sam refused to let Jason get out of the bed. Jason argued with her for a few minutes until he realized that she wouldn't budge. Jason reluctantly settled back into bed, but he complained that their wedding was already under the gun because they had lost too much time, so they needed to get things back on track. "No Jason, we don't," Sam replied. Jason wondered if she had changed her mind about marrying him, but Sam assured him she hadn't. However, she offered to postpone their wedding until Jason was fully recovered.

Jason asked Sam to stop trying to talk herself out of getting married. He assured her that he wanted her to have the wedding of her dreams because they would only get married once. Sam smiled, and then crawled into bed with him to snuggle in his arms. Jason confessed that it was strange to think that a piece of AJ's dashboard had been migrating to his brain for years. Sam admitted that she had been afraid that he had been lost to her, so Jason revealed that he had fought the anesthesia as he had been put under, until he had thought of Sam in Hawaii. Sam grinned as she jumped up, and then fetched a binder filled with honeymoon destinations that she wanted Jason to consider.

9/7 In Jason's hospital room, Jason was curious how Kristina was doing. Michael explained that Jason's room had been on the way to Kristina's room, so Michael had decided to check on Jason first. Jason assured Michael that everything was fine, and that Patrick expected Jason to make a full recovery. However, Jason admitted that he still had to undergo some tests. Michael and Jason discussed Jason's brain surgery, and then Michael revealed that it had seemed as if the Quartermaines had been hoping that Jason would wake up as "their Jason."

Jason wondered how Michael's job at ELQ was going. He was not pleased when Michael replied, "I quit." Michael realized that Edward had been upset about Michael's decision, but Jason's recovery had helped to soften the blow. "We're both alive, right? Even if we aren't the upstanding citizens that he wants us to be," Michael added with a smile. Jason explained that it had been like a death for the Quartermaines when Jason had woken up with no memory of his life before the tragic crash. Michael insisted that they couldn't have him as a replacement. Jason accused Michael of being irresponsible for squandering the chance, and the job, that the Quartermaines had handed to Michael. Michael resented that everyone considered him irresponsible, but Jason was curious what Michael would call someone who walked away from something without considering how it would affect the people that he cared about.

Jason reminded Michael that Abby's job had been tied to Michael's position at ELQ. Michael explained that Abby had wanted Michael to be happy, and that he wouldn't have been satisfied at ELQ. Jason argued that Abby had been happy working there, so sometimes a person had to make sacrifices for loved ones. Michael was confident that Abby would be able to find another job, but Jason insisted that it wasn't about a job; it was about doing the right thing. Jason reminded Michael that it had been difficult for Jason to give up Jake, but Jason believed that Jake had deserved better, just as Michael had.

Jason wished that Michael had given ELQ more time, but Michael argued that he had been needed for other things. "Like what?" Jason demanded. "Like, Dad. He needs my help, and I can't let him down," Michael replied. Michael explained that a lot had happened while Jason had been in the hospital, but Jason revealed that he knew about Jax's disappearance. Jason was stunned when Michael absolved Sonny of any wrongdoing.

According to Michael, Jax had been in the wrong because Jax had taken Josslyn. Michael insisted that he refused to turn his back on Sonny, like everyone else had. Jason argued that Sonny had been the one who had been in the wrong, and that Sonny had crossed a line that Sonny would never have crossed if Sonny had been thinking clearly. Michael assured Jason that Sonny was "perfectly fine," except for feeling betrayed. Jason wondered if Michael were truly okay with Josslyn losing her father.

"That part sucks," Michael confessed; however, Michael insisted that lots of children grew up without their real fathers. "I did," Michael added. Jason acknowledged that he was loyal to Sonny, but Jason argued that Sonny had been wrong to go after Jax. Michael disagreed, so he was determined to stand by his father. "I'm all he's got right now," Michael explained. Jason didn't want Michael involved, but Michael warned Jason that it was too late.

Michael demanded that Jason find a place for him in the organization, or Michael would figure out a way on his own. "You know I will," Michael warned Jason. Jason revealed that they could use someone at the warehouse, but Michael resented being given a "legitimate" position, when he could do more. Jason explained that Michael didn't have to keep proving himself to Jason. Michael realized that Jason suspected that Michael felt that way because of what had happened in Pentonville. Michael conceded that perhaps Jason had a point, and then confided that the therapist had assured Michael that Michael would be able to get past it one day. Jason advised Michael to focus on learning to manage the anger because it affected everything, including Michael's decisions.

Moments later, Milo and two thugs entered the hospital room. Michael decided to check on Kristina, so Jason asked Michael to consider his offer. Michael explained that it wasn't necessary; he had decided to take the job. Michael realized that he had surprised Jason, because Jason had expected Michael to decline. Sam entered Kristina's hospital room to invite Kristina to help with some wedding plans. Kristina agreed to the visit, provided that Sam didn't try to lecture her about Ethan. Sam agreed, and then dumped some binders on Kristina's bed. They chatted about Maxie's role in planning the wedding, and then opened a binder to look at wedding dresses. Kristina realized that Sam was trying to keep Kristina distracted because Sam and Alexis were concerned about the test results. Sam insisted that she needed Kristina's help, so Kristina suggested a wedding gown.

Sam glanced at it, and then offered to be fitted for it. Kristina realized that her sister was really worried because she had agreed to wear a hideous gown that Lady Gaga wouldn't even wear to a funeral. Sam shrugged as she explained that it was just a dress. Sam confessed that Jason was all that she wanted. Alexis soon joined them, so Alexis suggested that Kristina invite Taylor to the wedding. Kristina revealed that she hadn't talked to Taylor since he had gone to Brown. Kristina accused Alexis of liking Taylor because he wasn't anything like Ethan.

Moments later, Patrick entered the room to inform the family that he had the results of Kristina's tests. Alexis wanted to discuss them privately with Patrick in the hallway, but Patrick explained that he was obligated to review the results with Kristina because she was of age. Kristina immediately realized that the news was grim because of the expression on Patrick's face. Patrick revealed that the tests had indicated that a bone fragment had impinged on Kristina's vertebral artery, which had been interrupting the blood flow to the brain. According to Patrick, that was the reason that Kristina had been experiencing dizzy spells, and chronic neck pain. Kristina was curious how it had happened, so Patrick suggested that an old sports injury might have caused the problem. Kristina revealed that she hadn't played sports.

Sam wondered how it could be fixed, so Patrick recommended surgery. He informed them that they would go through the back of Kristina's neck to remove the fragment; however, he warned that there was a risk of paralysis. Alexis wanted to discuss it with Sonny, but Kristina made it clear that her father didn't get a say. Kristina insisted that she didn't even want Sonny there. Patrick decided to give the family some time to discuss Kristina's options, so he excused himself. Kristina asked Sam to call Ethan, but Alexis argued that Ethan wasn't part of the family. Kristina insisted that Ethan was her friend, and that she valued his advice because she was able to talk to him, and be herself around him. According to Kristina, she never disappointed Ethan.

Later in the hallway, Sam revealed to Alexis that Ethan was on his way. Alexis wondered if Sam had been thinking the same thing that Alexis had been when Patrick had told them about the bone fragment. Sam nodded when Alexis blamed the abuse that Kiefer Bauer had inflicted on Kristina for Kristina's situation. Alexis was upset that Kristina might end up paralyzed because of what Kiefer had done. Ethan and Skye arrived at the hospital. Sam warned Ethan not to lead Kristina on, because it would make things worse. Ethan wondered why Sam had called him if she had been worried about that, so Sam explained that Kristina had asked to see him. Sam then turned to Skye to advise Skye to stay out of sight because it would only upset Kristina.

In Jason's hospital room, Sam curled up next to Jason in bed as she asked how Jason felt about getting married in the hospital. Jason refused to consider it, but Sam explained that Kristina's situation was serious. Jason appreciated that Sam was concerned for her sister; however, he insisted that they stick to their original wedding plans. Sam wondered if Jason believed in signs. As if on cue, Maxie burst through the door to announce that she had once again lost Sam's engagement ring.

9/8 At the hospital, Jason was frustrated when Maxie admitted that she had once again lost Sam's engagement ring. Maxie promised to retrace her steps, but Jason thought that it would be best to buy Sam a new ring. Sam feared that the wedding plans were too much for Maxie to handle. Maxie insisted that she was up to the task, and assured Sam that she would find the ring because it had spoken to Jason. Maxie then lifted the box from Luzetta's to show Sam a sample of the wedding cake that Maxie had picked out. Sam was delighted when she sampled a bite of the cake, but Jason claimed that he preferred the cakes from Kelly's. Maxie grumbled that it was important that a wedding cake look as good as it tasted. Jason once again broached the subject of buying a new engagement ring, but Sam quickly suggested that they table the discussion for another day.

The conversation then drifted to Spinelli. Maxie confessed that Spinelli was still lost, and that she was worried because he didn't appear to be getting better. Jason wished that he could help, so Maxie seized the opportunity to reveal that she had told Spinelli that Jason wanted Spinelli to be his best man. Sam suggested that Maxie should have discussed it with Jason first, but Maxie insisted that time was of the essence. Maxie switched gears to remind Sam that they still had to select a wedding gown. Sam revealed that Kristina and Molly had been working on it, but Maxie insisted that Sam's sisters didn't have the "critical fashion sense" that Maxie had. Sam decided that Maxie had given her and Jason enough to think about, so she ushered Maxie out of the door just as a nurse arrived to check on Jason.

Alexis found Sam leaning against the wall, and crying, outside of Kristina's room. Alexis feared that something had happened to Jason, but Sam explained that she was upset because Kristina never seemed to get a chance to be young and happy. Alexis assured Sam that Kristina was resilient, so Alexis was confident that Kristina would get through the crisis. Sam insisted that Kristina had to, and then went into her mother's waiting arms. Alexis held her daughter until Sam pulled herself together.

Sam wiped away the tears, and then followed Alexis into Kristina's room. Sam pretended to be in a panic because Maxie was overwhelmed with wedding plans, so Sam needed Molly and Kristina's help. Molly and Kristina warned Sam that it was too late to order things like a wedding cake and a wedding gown, so the wedding would have to be postponed. Molly and Kristina burst out laughing at Sam's shocked expression. Sam relaxed when her sisters admitted that they had been teasing her, and that everything was in place, so they just needed Sam to give her approval. Sam smiled and then hugged her sisters.

Later, Alexis stopped Sam in the hallway to confess that she had seen through Sam's ploy to distract Molly and Kristina with wedding plans. However, Alexis was concerned that Sam was under too much strain, so Alexis wondered if Sam wanted to push back the wedding date until everything had settled down. Sam assured Alexis that she was happy, and ready to move forward with Jason.

In Jason's hospital room, Carly admitted that she was thrilled to see that Jason was on the mend, and himself. Jason sensed that something was on Carly's mind, but she assured him that she could get through life without his help, at least for a day or two. Carly frowned when she noticed the wedding samples scattered around the room. "God forbid Sam let something like brain surgery stand in her way," Carly said with a sneer as she glared at the slice of wedding cake. Jason quickly informed Carly that it had been his idea to keep their wedding date. Carly decided that she didn't care, because she was just thankful that Jason hadn't changed. Carly confided that they had all been worried about him, so Robin had advised everyone to go somewhere special to send Jason positive thoughts during the surgery. Jason guessed that Carly had gone to Jake's. Carly nodded as she admitted that she had thought about how things might have been if she had made different choices.

Jason was surprised when Carly confessed that she had fantasized about running the mob with Jason. Carly told him about the fantasy, including that she had sent Michael to live with the Quartermaines after he had been shot in the head, so Michael hadn't killed Claudia, or gone to jail. Jason reminded Carly that they couldn't go back, and then revealed that he had given Michael a job. Carly was livid until Jason explained that it was a legitimate job at the coffee warehouse. Carly smiled with relief as she praised Jason for being the only person who could keep Michael safe. She then wondered if Jason had been able to talk to Michael about Sonny. Jason explained that Michael wasn't ready to hear that Sonny was headed for a breakdown. Carly feared that Michael didn't understand the difference between Jason and Sonny, but Jason suggested that Carly saw a difference that wasn't really there. Carly had no idea what Jason was talking about.

According to Carly, Sonny was selfish and power-hungry, and created messes that Jason was left to clean up. Carly insisted that Sonny used people, but Jason warned her that she couldn't tell Michael those things because it would push Michael way. Carly was concerned because Michael appeared to be making the same mistakes that Carly had made by thinking that Sonny could be saved. Carly explained that Michael had been the only person not to turn his back on Sonny after what Sonny had done. Jason revealed that he knew about the sabotaged plane, and Jax's disappearance, so he was curious why she hadn't mentioned Jax to him.

9/9 Jason apologized for not having done more to prevent Jax's plane crash. Carly explained that she'd sent Morgan to military school to keep him from Sonny. Jason urged her to take Morgan home before Sonny found out, but Carly replied that Sonny already knew. Jason registered his objection, but Carly assured him that Morgan was relieved that he was no longer in the middle of his family's feud. Carly said she no longer believed the lie that Sonny was a good father. He only cared about himself, she complained. She offered that Jason had always put her kids first; Sonny hadn't. Jason warned that Sonny would act irrationally. Carly apologized for burdening Jason and took full responsibility for having continually sided with Sonny. It had driven Jax out of her life, she said.

"Josslyn losing her father doesn't mean Michael and Morgan should lose theirs," Jason countered. Carly asked if Jason thought that Sonny would make any sacrifice for his children, and Jason remained silent. Jason suggested that Carly move Morgan to another school, but Carly refused. She said she didn't care about Sonny's hurt feelings, just as Sonny entered the room. Sonny told Jason that Carly had also changed Morgan's last name to Benson. Sonny defended himself and pointed out that he had not been responsible for Jax's plane going down. After Carly stormed off, Sonny ranted about her and vowed he wouldn't give up. He went so far as to say, "I'm not gonna give up on my kids like you did." Sonny realized what he'd said and apologized.

Jason implored Sonny not to compound problems by doing anything illegal to get to Morgan. Jason asked Sonny why Sonny had recently been out of control. He asked what Sonny had been thinking when he'd waved a gun around at Robin's house. Sonny didn't answer but lamented that he hadn't had the opportunity to kill Kiefer for beating Kristina. After Sonny left, Sam returned. She expressed her fears that Kristina might end up paralyzed. Jason assured her that Patrick would not fail them. Sonny caught up with Carly in front of the elevators and asked her what he'd have to do to get access to his son.

In Kristina's room, after Kristina had been taken to the OR, Robin shared what she could with Alexis and Sam about the likely outcome of the surgery. Robin expressed confidence that the procedure would go well. Molly pointed out that Kristina was a lot calmer than Alexis was. Molly persuaded Alexis to bargain with God by offering to dance with Jason at Sam's wedding if Kristina were to be healed.

9/12 Molly found Sam in Jason's room. Molly shared her fears that Kristina's injuries were due to the near fatal car bomb that Sonny had planted in Johnny's car instead of the beatings that Kiefer had administered. Sam told Molly that speculating about the cause would not change Kristina's condition. Sam asked Molly to keep her theories to herself because she did not want Kristina to find out; that might cause harm to Kristina's relationship with Sonny. Sam said that it was okay for Molly to be angry with Sonny but it did not cancel out all the good that Sonny had done. Sam defended Sonny. She said that Kristina was hard on Sonny because they were so much alike. Sam said that both Sonny and Kristina were emotional and stubborn, and wanted their own way all the time.

Molly wondered if Sonny's problems were related to his bipolar condition. Sam said that might be part of the problem might but another part might be that Kristina did not understand that people would use her to get to Sonny. Sam said that Sonny was vulnerable through his children. Molly asked why, if Sonny loved his children so much, he did not protect them better. Sonny was outside in the hall and heard the entire conversation between Molly and Sam.

9/14 In Jason's hospital room, Jason was horrified when an orderly named Orlando insisted on giving Jason a sponge bath. Sam smiled as she stood in the doorway, while Jason refused to let Orlando near him. Sam quickly rescued Jason by volunteering to bathe Jason. Orlando handed the bowl of water and sponge to Sam, and then revealed that Jason's other option had been Epiphany. Jason appeared greatly relieved after Orlando left the room. Sam picked up the sponge and then admitted that she had some time to kill because Kristina was still in surgery.

Later, Sam wondered if she was a horrible and selfish person for being happy when Kristina was going through so much. Sam explained that Kristina had been desperately looking for love, but in all the wrong places, so Sam wanted to help her sister. Jason warned Sam that no one could stop another person from making bad choices, but Sam reminded Jason that he did it all of the time. According to Sam, it was impossible for Jason to let Sonny, Carly, Michael, and others, suffer the consequences of their actions. Jason was curious if it bothered her, so Sam admitted that it did at times, but she had made peace with it, or else she wouldn't be marrying him.

"You're getting married?" Sonny asked from the doorway. Sonny was surprised that Jason hadn't mentioned it sooner. Jason explained that Sonny hadn't been around. Sam wondered if Sonny intended to congratulate them, so Sonny quickly did so, but he warned them that things didn't always work out. Sam appeared disgusted with the remark, so she decided to check on her mother and sister.

Sonny watched Sam leave, and then wondered why she seemed to be in a bad mood. Jason reminded Sonny that Sam was worried about Kristina. Sonny admitted that he was concerned too because he had caught Johnny "sniffing" around Kristina. Jason confessed that it didn't make sense to him, but Sonny insisted that it was true. Sonny grumbled that he should have pushed Johnny over the balcony when he had the chance. Jason wondered what Sonny was talking about, so Sonny revealed that he had paid Johnny a visit.

Sonny claimed that Johnny had bragged about being able to use Kristina whenever Johnny needed to. Jason appeared skeptical, but Sonny assured him it was the truth. Sonny complained that Jason should have killed Johnny when Sonny had given Jason the order. Jason was curious if there had been any witnesses to Sonny's confrontation with Johnny, but Sonny assured Jason that there wasn't anything to worry about. Sonny was surprised when Jason revealed that he had assigned someone to watch Sonny's back. Sonny wasn't interested in having Max constantly hovering around him.

"No, that would be me," Shawn announced from the doorway. Sonny turned to Jason for confirmation. Jason assured Sonny that it wasn't a joke. According to Jason, Shawn was qualified, so he was the right man for the job. Sonny argued that he didn't like Shawn, but Jason insisted that it didn't matter. Shawn promised to do his best to protect Sonny, but Sonny wasn't pleased. Sonny reminded both men that Kristina was sick, so Sonny didn't want to deal with Shawn.

After Sonny left, Shawn sarcastically noted, "That went well." Jason revealed that he had left instructions for everyone in the organization to give Shawn anything that Shawn needed. Shawn decided that Jason should be aware of something. "I suffer from PTSD," Shawn admitted. Shawn explained that he had experienced a recent episode with Jax, and that Jax had taken advantage of it by snatching Josslyn. Jason confessed that he knew about Shawn's struggles, and that it was clear that Shawn had been able to get past the incident because Josslyn had been returned to Carly. Jason was confident that Shawn could handle Sonny, but he warned Shawn that Shawn would have his hands full because Sonny wasn't a walk in the park, and the Zaccharas were unpredictable. Jason added that there was also Carly to deal with. Shawn chuckled, and then admitted "Now that could be what brings me to my knees."

Alexis hugged Molly, and then praised Sam and Molly for handling things so well. Alexis revealed that she drew her strength from her two daughters. Sam confessed that she hated waiting, but she assured everyone that the surgeons at General Hospital were amazing, and then pointed to Jason's speedy recovery as proof. Michael was surprised that no one had tried to blame Sonny for what had happened to Jason. "Would you like us to?" Alexis wondered. Michael shook his head just as Sonny entered the room. Sonny was curious if there had been any news about Kristina's surgery, so Alexis decided to check with a nurse.

After Alexis left, Michael quietly asked if Sonny had gone after Johnny. Sonny reminded Michael that they had agreed that Michael would stay out of the mob business. Michael insisted that he wanted to help, but Sam pointed out that Michael was on a good track, so he shouldn't screw it up. Sonny assured Michael that Michael didn't have anything to worry about because Sonny had everything under control.

Shortly afterwards, Sam returned to Jason's room to update him on Kristina's surgery. Sam feared that the news wasn't good, but Jason warned her that there was no way to tell. Sam changed the subject by asking if Sonny had killed Johnny. Jason quickly alleviated her fears, and then revealed that he had assigned Shawn to guard Sonny. Jason refused to continue discussing mob business because he was officially off duty. Sam was curious how it felt, so Jason admitted that it was different, but good. Sam smiled as she suggested that she could make Jason feel better. Jason returned the smile as she leaned forward to kiss him.

9/15 In Jason's hospital room, Sam confessed that she was a terrible wedding planner, but she conceded that Jason was worse, so she had left it to Maxie. However, Sam wondered if that had been a mistake because Maxie had been slacking. Sam explained that she hadn't heard from Maxie, just as Spinelli burst through the door to announce that he had distressing news regarding "Maximista." Sam and Jason were surprised by the nickname because they realized that it wasn't something that Jackal, P.I., would have said. "Spinelli?" Jason cautiously asked. Spinelli nodded, so Jason invited Spinelli to tell them what had happened.Spinelli revealed that Jackal had deciphered the clues about Luzetta's Bakery, as had Maxie and Elizabeth, who were both missing. Spinelli then admitted that what he had deduced as Jackal was also gone and forgotten.

Sam and Jason had difficulty following Spinelli's ramblings, so Sam urged Spinelli to focus. Spinelli confessed that it was a bit confusing, so Sam was curious if he remembered anything about being Jackal. Spinelli explained that it had been an illusion that he couldn't sustain after he had visited Jason, at Maxie's urging, following Jason's surgery. Spinelli admitted that the fear of losing Jason had made him realize everything that Jason had done for him, so the need to be Jason's friend had prevailed. Jason confessed that he had missed Spinelli, so it was good to have Spinelli back. Spinelli insisted that all of the credit went to Maxie because she had been tireless in her efforts. Spinelli realized that it had been incredibly painful for Maxie to take him to Georgie's grave. Sam was curious if Spinelli had thanked Maxie, so Spinelli reminded Sam that he couldn't do that because Maxie, as well as Elizabeth, had vanished. According to Spinelli, everything pointed to them being abducted from Luzetta's Bakery.

Jason quickly clarified that there hadn't been anything going on at Luzetta's; Jason had made everything up to keep Spinelli out of trouble. Spinelli insisted that Jackal had realized that the Zaccharas had been moving drugs through the bakery, and that the answer was in the stars. Sam suggested that whatever Jackal thought he had seen had only seemed like illegal activity, but Spinelli explained that Elizabeth had caught someone stealing drugs from the hospital, and then she had followed the person to Luzetta's. Spinelli revealed that Lucky and Dante had found Elizabeth's cell phone near a dumpster behind the bakery. Spinelli then confided that he had discovered proof that Maxie had been in the alley around the time of Elizabeth's disappearance. Jason wanted to know what it was, but Spinelli confessed that it couldn't be seen by "the bride-to-be." Sam looked away, so that Spinelli could show Jason the engagement ring that Maxie had been searching for.

Spinelli tucked the ring away, and then admitted that he had newfound empathy for Jason because Spinelli appreciated how disconcerting it was not to trust the accuracy of one's mind. Sam and Jason finally realized that Maxie and Elizabeth were in trouble, so Jason explained that Shawn was temporarily in charge, while Jason recuperated. Jason promised to alert Shawn. Sam decided to check on Kristina, and then call Shawn. Spinelli was startled to realize that something had happened to Kristina, but Sam quickly assured him that Kristina would be fine. Sam gave Jason a pointed look as she suggested that Spinelli stay behind to talk to Jason about the wedding.

After Sam left, Jason asked Spinelli to be his best man. Spinelli was stunned; he wondered if Jason would prefer to have Sonny, Michael, or Carly stand at Jason's side when Jason exchanged vows with Sam. Jason insisted that Spinelli had always been dependable, so Jason trusted Spinelli with his life. Jason also appreciated that Spinelli had supported Jason's relationship with Sam. Spinelli was honored to be asked, so he accepted and then hugged his friend.

Afterwards, Jason asked Spinelli to hack into the surveillance cameras around the waterfront to check for clues that might lead them to Maxie and Elizabeth. Jason also ordered Spinelli to contact Bernie, and then transfer the missing twenty million dollars back into Sonny's account.

Sam entered Kristina’s room and demanded to know what Johnny had said to Kristina to upset her, but Kristina quickly explained that Sonny was to blame. After Johnny excused himself and left, Sam assured her sister that Sonny loved Kristina. Sam conceded that Sonny had handled things badly, but she explained that nothing was worse than the pain of losing a child. According to Sam, it went deeper when it was the result of a parent's actions. Kristina wondered if Sam truly believed that Sonny felt that way. Sam explained that Sonny could deny it and hide it behind anger, but Sam was certain that Sonny felt responsible for Kristina's situation. Sam believed that Sonny was dealing with tremendous guilt, which he didn't know how to handle. Kristina wondered why it was Kristina's job to make Sonny feel better, so Sam assured her sister that it wasn't.

Matt arrived to discuss Kristina's post-surgical prognosis. He was curious if Alexis were around, but Kristina insisted that she was an adult, so he didn't need to discuss her case with Alexis. Matt explained that it was complex stuff, so he suggested that perhaps Sonny could join them. Kristina made it clear that her father was the last person that she wanted to be present. Sam decided to look for Alexis.

In Jason's hospital room, Shawn reported that Elizabeth hadn't arrived home, so the babysitter had called Audrey to watch the boys. Jason ordered Shawn to get everyone out on the streets to search for Elizabeth and Maxie, and to find out what was going on at Luzetta's. Shawn suspected that the women had been moved from the bakery. Jason agreed, but he assured Shawn that Spinelli was working on it. Shawn wondered if that were a good idea, but Jason assured Shawn that Spinelli could do anything on a computer.

9/16 At Jason's penthouse, Spinelli desperately tried to gain access to security footage through the Internet, but was unable to remember how. Frustrated, he gave up and berated himself until Sam walked in. She let him know that Kristina's surgery had gone well. Spinelli didn't share with Sam that he was having trouble with his hacking skills. He abruptly left to search for Maxie and Elizabeth. Sam found it odd that he'd left without his computer.

After Lulu got to Crimson, Kate cynically mocked the upcoming "blushing bride" magazine cover, noting that fairytale endings were a travesty. Olivia balked over the magazine's usual covers that showed women in clothing that was torturous. Lulu commented that fashion was about form over function and that a wedding issue would be a nice change of pace. "You don't need a husband to feel complete," Kate snapped. In walked Sam, who interjected that she was marrying Jason because she loved him. The news of the impending nuptials surprised Kate. Sam thanked Lulu for her help with the wedding dress and left.

9/20 At the hospital, Sam became concerned when she saw Jason slowly making his way down the hallway. She admitted that she didn't think it was a good idea for him to take a stroll while he was still recovering from surgery. Sam reminded Jason that they were getting married in a few days, so she didn't understand why he would take such a risk. Sam didn't give Jason an opportunity to reply because she assumed that he was doing whatever was necessary to make certain that the Zaccharas didn't take advantage of Sonny's "psychological sinkhole."

Sam realized that Jason wanted to send the Zaccharas a message, but she insisted that it was Shawn's job. Jason finally managed to explain that he hadn't intended to leave the hospital; he had been practicing walking down the aisle. Sam smiled, and then led Jason back to his room. After Jason settled down in bed, Sam confessed that it felt good to laugh again. She admitted that the wedding plans had been overwhelming. Jason sensed that something else was troubling Sam, so Sam confided that she felt guilty for being happy when everyone else was having problems.

Jason assured her that they would get married, and that there were lots of people helping to make that possible. Sam explained that part of the problem was that it seemed like people viewed their wedding as a bright spot in the middle of hard times. Sam suspected that their loved ones looked to them as much-needed proof that two people who loved each other could overcome anything, which had put a lot of pressure on her and Jason. Jason advised Sam to forget what others wanted because he was only interested in knowing what she wanted. Sam admitted that she wanted to marry him. Jason confessed that he wanted the same, so that was all that mattered.

Later, Max updated Jason on the drug bust. Jason wondered if Elizabeth and Maxie had been found, so Max assured him that both ladies were fine. According to Max, the drug dealers had felt the pressure from Shawn, who had stationed people in all the right places. Max revealed that everyone liked Shawn, except Sonny, and that Shawn had good instincts. Jason explained that Sonny's personal issues with Shawn didn't matter because they needed Shawn. Max was startled when Jason insisted on having Shawn head up the security at Jason and Sam's wedding. Max promised to coordinate everything with Milo, and then left. Sam, who had been quietly reading in a corner, realized that their wedding would be the perfect opportunity for someone to make a move against Sonny's organization.

Jason explained that he just wanted to take precautions because of what had happened at Sonny and Brenda's wedding. Jason admitted that he never wanted to feel as he had when he had seen Sam on the stretcher following the limousine's explosion. Sam was confident that Shawn wouldn't let anything happen at their wedding. Sam decided to run a few errands, so she kissed Jason and then promised to return later.

Shortly afterwards, Max returned to Jason's hospital room. Jason revealed that he wanted Max to work with Shawn, who was looking into something for Jason. Max admitted that he was happy for Jason and Sam, and then began to talk about his breakup with Diane. Max revealed that Diane hadn't returned any of his phone calls, emails, or text messages. Max blamed the book tour for ruining what he'd had with Diane. Max realized that he had been babbling, so he returned to the topic at hand. Max wondered what Shawn was working on. "Franco," Jason responded.

Moments later, Sam entered the room, so Max quickly congratulated Jason on his upcoming wedding to Sam, and then excused himself. Sam knew that Max had been covering for Jason, but she realized that it concerned business, so she decided not to ask Jason about it. Maxie and Spinelli walked in before Jason could reply. Maxie announced that she had good news and bad news. Maxie told Jason and Sam about Spinelli's heroics during the rescue, and then revealed that she had once again lost Sam's engagement ring. Jason was frustrated, but Maxie insisted that he could buy Sam a new ring. However, she promised to make sure that Jason and Sam had a perfect wedding, even if it killed Maxie.

At an undisclosed location, Franco snapped pictures of various items at a staged crime scene, including a murdered man on the floor. Franco's stuffed monkey sat on a shelf nearby, banging its cymbals together. Franco picked up the toy and then began to talk about Jason's wedding, and how Franco hadn't received an invitation. Franco decided that it was time to return to Port Charles because there was "no place like home."

9/21 At Jason's penthouse, Spinelli offered Jason something to eat, but Jason ignored the food as he noticed the bags scattered around the living room. Spinelli explained that they were for the wedding, and then produced a gaudy red cummerbund for Jason's inspection. Jason refused to wear the hideous sash on his wedding day, so Spinelli put it away. Edward knocked on the door. Edward explained that he wanted to talk to Jason about the wedding, so Spinelli warned Edward that it would be futile to try to persuade Jason not to marry Sam. Edward clarified that he liked Sam because she was a strong and independent woman, whom Lila would have approved of.

Jason was shocked when Edward revealed that he wanted Jason to give Sam the ring that Edward had given to Lila on their wedding night. Edward explained that he had hoped that Jason and Sam could pass it on to their children one day. Jason graciously accepted the precious gift, and then thanked his grandfather. After Edward left, Spinelli tried to go over some more wedding plans, but Jason ordered Spinelli to get busy transferring the twenty million dollars into Sonny's account. Spinelli appeared nervous, but agreed to do it.

Elizabeth knocked on the door. Elizabeth explained that she had stopped by because she needed to tell Jason something before the wedding. Spinelli immediately tried to intercede by suggesting that some things were better left unsaid. Jason sent Spinelli upstairs with the laptop to find Sonny's missing millions. After Spinelli left, Jason noticed that Elizabeth seemed nervous. Elizabeth admitted that she was anxious, but Jason reminded her that they were past the point where they had to worry about what they said to each other.

Elizabeth apologized, prompting Jason to wonder if she were troubled about what had happened to Jake. Elizabeth explained that she was sorry for the crash, which had nearly killed Jason. Jason insisted that it wasn't necessary because he knew that she hadn't intended to hurt anyone. Elizabeth confessed that she had made a lot of bad choices since their son's death. "What? You think that's unforgivable, not understandable?" Jason asked. Elizabeth insisted that one mistake didn't excuse another. Elizabeth confided that she would never stop blaming herself for not keeping an eye on Jake that fateful night.

Jason conceded that he hadn't kept an eye on things either; otherwise she wouldn't have been grabbed by the men at Luzetta's Bakery. Elizabeth insisted that she had made a mistake by following the thug, but Jason reminded her that she had just been concerned about Lucky. She argued that her mistakes seemed to cost more than others, so Jason told her that they had to believe that they were where they were supposed to be, "right now." Elizabeth smiled sadly as she admitted that he could only be a hero to one woman at a time.

After Elizabeth left, Shawn paid Jason a visit to update him on the security at the church. Shawn assured Jason that the church was clean, but Jason remained concerned about Franco because Franco had been quiet for too long. Jason was certain that Franco would use the wedding as an excuse to make an appearance. Maxie was desperate for help with Sam's wedding, but Kate refused to offer assistance, so she ended the call. Maxie called back two more times, so Kate informed Maxie that Sam's wedding dress was at Crimson, however, Kate refused to send it to Maxie via a courier.

Maxie revealed that the wedding invitations hadn't been sent out. Sam looked worried, but Maxie promised to take care of it. Monica arrived just as Maxie pulled out Jason's wedding ring to show to Sam. Maxie was horrified when she realized that the inscription was for another couple, but Monica saved the day by surprising Sam with a special gift, Alan's wedding ring. Monica wanted Sam and Jason to have it, so that a part of Alan would always be with Jason.

After Monica left, Maxie called Spinelli to tell him that she had emailed a list of guests to him, so she needed Spinelli to send out a mass email to notify everyone of when and where Sam and Jason's wedding would take place. Spinelli tried to get out of doing it, but Maxie refused to give him that option. After Maxie ended the call, and then left to fetch Sam's dress, Carly dropped by. Sam explained that Jason wasn't there, but Carly revealed that she was there to talk to Sam. Carly acknowledged that there had been a lot of tension between them. Sam was stunned when Carly took full responsibility for that, so Sam conceded that she knew how much Jason meant to Carly.

Carly admitted that she that Sam obviously meant a lot to Jason, so Carly promised not to stand in their way. Sam appreciated that. Carly explained that she wanted Jason to be happy. Carly also wanted the same for herself, but she realized that it might not happen. Sam suggested that happiness sometimes took awhile. Carly warned Sam that the minute a person found happiness they opened themselves up to losing it. Sam thought that it was a cynical view, so Carly reminded Sam that Carly had experienced a lot of heartache in her life, which Carly wanted to avoid in the future.

After Carly left, Alexis and Molly stopped by to check on Sam. Moments later, Maxie breezed in. Maxie reminded Sam that Sam hadn't chosen a maid of honor. Maxie seemed disappointed when Sam teasingly suggested that Kristina or Molly might be suitable maids of honor. Sam took pity on Maxie, so she confessed that she had intended to ask Maxie. Maxie happily accepted, and then insisted that they honor the tradition of something old, something new, something borrowed, and something blue. Molly offered to lend Sam the rock that Shawn had given to Molly to help keep Sam grounded on her wedding day. Maxie revealed that she had picked up a pair of blue Cartullo shoes for Sam to wear, so she extended the box to Sam. Maxie was shocked when Sam found a pair of leopard print platforms nestled inside of the box. Maxie tried to snatch the box out of Sam's hand, but Sam was determined to wear the shoes because she liked them.

Later, Sam was trying on her wedding dress and veil when Jason entered her apartment. Jason called out to Sam, but Sam ordered Jason to stay away from the balcony where Sam was standing. To Sam's dismay, Jason ignored the warning. Sam reminded Jason that it was bad luck for the groom to see the wedding dress before the ceremony, but Jason made it clear that he didn't believe in the superstition. Jason admitted that she looked amazing. Sam smiled as she confessed that she hadn't realized how important it was to see that look on his face. Sam was happy that she didn't have to share that special moment with their guests. Sam's smile slipped, prompting Jason to wonder what was wrong. "I don't think I can do this," Sam replied.

At Franco's studio, in an undisclosed location, Franco talked to his toy monkey about Jason's wedding. "Are you ready?" Franco asked as he prepared to leave for the wedding. The male model on the floor suddenly sat up and then revealed that he wanted to attend the wedding with Franco. Franco explained that the model couldn't go because the man would be making headlines. The model had no idea what Franco was talking about, so Franco picked up a brick, and then bashed his head in. Afterwards, Franco turned to a table filled with tiny gadgets, sporting mini cameras, to ask if they were ready to go to the wedding.

9/22 At Sam's apartment, Jason became nervous when Sam appeared to have a case of cold feet, but she quickly assured him that she wanted to marry him. However, she felt overwhelmed by the pressure of planning the perfect wedding. Jason suggested that she focus on what she wanted. Sam smiled as she explained that she had everything that she needed, the rock that Molly had lent to her, and the lug-nut that Jason had given to her when he had proposed.

After a courier dropped by to pick up the wedding dress, Jason decided to whisk Sam away to help calm her nerves. They ended up at a Chinese restaurant. The restaurant was closed, but Robert Yi and his grandfather took pity on Jason and Sam when they confessed that they were running away from their wedding. Robert's grandmother, Mrs. Yi, served Jason and Sam something to eat. Sam told Robert and his grandparents about their elaborate wedding plans, and how everything had gotten out of control.

Mrs. Yi only spoke Chinese, so Robert translated for his grandmother. Robert explained that his grandmother had advised Sam to have lilies at her wedding because lilies represented unity in spirit, and one hundred years of love. Sam loved the idea, so she thanked Mrs. Yi and then watched the kind elderly lady join her Mr. Yi at another table. Sam was curious what Robert's grandfather had said when Mrs. Yi had sat down. Robert revealed that his grandfather had bragged that Mr. and Mrs. Yi were at the halfway mark of the one hundred years of love, because they had been married for fifty years.

Jason and Sam were impressed. Robert conceded that marriage was a big step, but Sam quickly assured him that she and Jason didn't have a problem with making a commitment to each other. Sam explained that the ceremony and reception had been the problem. Sam admitted that the wedding hadn't been a true representation of who they were. Jason confessed that he'd marry Sam at the restaurant if it were up to him. Robert surprised Jason and Sam by revealing that he was an ordained minister, so he could marry them if they had a marriage license. Sam was startled when Jason pulled the marriage license from of his back pocket. Mrs. Yi believed that fate had sent Jason and Sam to them. Sam agreed, and then admitted that it felt right to her that she and Jason marry at the Chinese restaurant. Jason didn't object, so Mrs. Yi led the happy couple to the back terrace to get married.

Sam was amazed by the terrace's beauty and serenity. Mrs. Yi appreciated Sam's compliment, so she returned it by confessing that Sam's leopard print Cartullo shoes rocked. Sam thanked Mrs. Yi and then took her place under the phoenix symbol as Robert had instructed. Robert then had Jason stand under the symbol of the dragon. Robert explained that the symbols were the ultimate signs of Yin and Yang, male and female. "Alone they bring happiness, but together they bring double happiness," Robert added.

Robert wondered if Jason and Sam had rings to exchange. Jason pulled out the ring that Edward had given to him. Sam was moved to tears when Jason revealed that the ring had belonged to his grandmother, Lila, who had worn the ring for over fifty years. Jason slid the ring onto Sam's finger, and then Sam dug Alan's ring out her pocket. Jason was surprised when Sam explained that Monica had given Alan's wedding ring to her because Monica had been certain that Alan would have wanted his son to have it. Sam slid the ring onto Jason's finger as she reminded him that Monica and Alan's love had lasted a lifetime, so Sam was certain that theirs would too.

Afterwards, Jason and Sam exchanged wedding vows. Mrs. Yi then presented Jason and Sam each with a glass of red wine as Robert explained that red was the color of happiness. According to Robert, a drink of wine and honey would ensure that their life together would be sweet and rich. Jason and Sam took a sip of wine, and then handed the glasses back to Mrs. Yi. Robert then pronounced Jason and Sam husband and wife. After Jason and Sam kissed, Sam looked up to see the red paper lanterns illuminating the terrace.

Sam confessed that the setting reminded her of their rooftop dinner long ago. Sam revealed that she had known then that she had wanted to spend the rest of her life with Jason. Jason and Sam thanked Robert and his grandparents for the wonderful wedding. Sam decided to show her appreciation by presenting Mrs. Yi with the leopard print shoes. Mrs. Yi graciously accepted the gift. Sam's smile disappeared when she realized that they would have to break the news to Maxie. Jason suggested that they wait until the following evening.

After checking to make sure that everything was set at the church, Maxie and Spinelli walked through the park on their way to Crimson, unaware that the homeless man hovering nearby was Franco. Franco listened as Maxie and Spinelli talked about the last-minute preparations for Jason and Sam's wedding.

Franco made his way to the church were Jason and Sam planned to marry. He set his little camera gadgets all around the church, and then looked into one of the cameras. "See you tomorrow," Franco said with a devious smile.

9/23 Shawn and Spinelli scoured the church for uninvited guests. Neither noticed Franco's spy cameras. Maxie got Spinelli alone and bemoaned the disasters surrounding the wedding. Maxie could not figure out why no guests were there and why the orchestra had not arrived, since she distinctly remembered that she had instructed Spinelli to take care of those details with his cyber skills. Spinelli did not meet her eyes. Maxie got even more petulant when the dresses arrived. Neither the bridesmaid dresses not the bridal gown were what she had ordered delivered. In his studio, Franco, dressed in a tux, fondled Sam's wedding dress and watched the video feeds from the cameras that he had planted in the church.

Jason and Sam woke up happily married in a hotel room. When Sam realized they would be late for their wedding, Jason said, "Let them wait!" and made love to Sam. As they got dressed, Sam said that getting married had made her feel free. She said that seemed strange, especially when it meant that they had made a lifetime commitment. Jason agreed that he felt both happy and free. Sam said she was glad to be free of the wedding and Maxie's obsession. She asked Jason to tell Maxie that they had eloped because Sam was afraid to tell her.

Sam's phone rang. Jason answered, and Maxie wanted to know why. Before Jason could answer, Maxie demanded that he and Sam get to the church in the next 20 minutes or risk her wrath.

Sonny went to the church and questioned Shawn. Sonny urged Shawn to double-check the choir loft because it had a good angle to shoot someone at the altar. Other people started arriving. Maxie told Alexis, Molly, and Kristina that there had been a disaster with the bridesmaid dresses. They seated themselves in the church.

Michael and Abby arrived, and Sonny greeted them. Carly saw them and did not appear happy. She did not stop but went into the church where Monica, Edward, Patrick, and Robin were already seated. Maxie was frantic about Jason and Sam, who arrived just as she was about to announce that the wedding had been cancelled. Sam and Jason were wearing black tee shirts and jeans and confirmed everyone's worst fears when Jason told the assembled crowd that there would be no wedding.

Molly soon gushed, "Best wedding ever," when Jason went on to explain that they had eloped and had been wed the previous evening. They declared their love for each other to the crowd. Spinelli invited everyone to the reception, but Maxie wailed that the catering truck had overturned and there was no food.

Sam and Jason saved the day by calling the Yis, who catered Chinese food for all. Maxie was impressed by the food and thanked Mrs. Yi, all the while bemoaning the various wedding disasters. Mrs. Yi responded in Chinese and told Maxie that she could not fight fate. Elsewhere, Carly told Jason that she was genuinely happy for him. Jason said that being married did not mean that Carly was losing Jason. Carly agreed. Carly joined Michael and Abby and said that she had left the wedding present at the warehouse. When Michael volunteered to go after it, Carly said it could wait. Sonny congratulated Jason.

Monica and Edward declared their happiness for Jason and Sam. Monica hugged Sam. Both Monica and Edward were delighted to see that Sam was wearing Lila's wedding ring and Jason was wearing Alan's. Matt tried to talk to Maxie, but she scrambled away to take care of another detail. Robin gave Jason her regards and reminded him that she had told him on the day that she had left for Paris that Jason would find the perfect person for him. Sam and Patrick joined them. Patrick agreed with Robin that marriage got better all the time.

Franco watched through his spy cams as Jason and Sam kissed. Sam said that her day was perfect. Music started, and Jason asked Sam to dance. They hugged each other close and swayed with the music. Franco danced with Sam's stolen wedding dress. Kate arrived in a stunning green dress. Across the room, Sonny moved towards her.

9/26 Franco monitored Sam and Jason's wedding reception on the video feeds from the hidden spy cameras that he had planted. Franco danced with Sam's wedding dress while Jason danced with Sam. Spinelli and Maxie shared a loving look, but as Spinelli approached to asked Maxie to dance, Matt pulled her onto the floor.

Spinelli made a toast that was sincere and understandable. He said that he loved Jason and Sam and that they were family to him. Spinelli said that even though the wedding had not played out as planned, it was the element of non-tradition that made the wedding special. He thanked the Yis for the reception. Spinelli said that love triumphed. He raised his bottle of orange soda and toasted to his "friends, partners in crime, and now husband and wife. Live long and prosper." Everyone cheered and took a drink.

Molly went to Maxie and told her that Spinelli had been talking about her when he mentioned non-traditional. Maxie dismissed Molly's conclusions and read the fortune in her cookie. She was disgusted when it said, "Love is non-traditional." Maxie picked up a second cookie and the fortune in that one read, "Love is non-negotiable." She quickly tossed that one aside as well. Matt joined Maxie and asked if she seriously believed in luck and fortunes. When Maxie's next fortune said, "Love is non-binding," she blurted out that she would like a fortune that applied to the life she was actually living.

Alexis said that it was her turn to make a toast. Sam tried to stop her, but Alexis insisted. Alexis said that she had not gotten to know Sam until she was an adult, and that Jason had not been what she'd had in mind for Sam. Alexis said that over the years, she had been forced to take a closer look at the depth of Sam and Jason's relationship. Alexis said that Sam and Jason's relationship was like the lug nut he had given her as an engagement ring. It was strong and steady and real. Alexis told Jason that he was kind and loyal and that he loved her daughter. Alexis raised her glass and said, "You are unconventional, and may your love go on forever." Alexis hugged Sam and Jason and welcomed him to the family. Mac told Alexis, "Nice speech," and reminded her that she was now "married to the mob."

Jason and Sam read their fortunes. His said, "Love is in the eyes of a child." Hers read, "Love comes in threes." When Jason asked if they should ignore the coincidence, Sam said that they should hurry up and get on their honeymoon. They laughed and hugged. Franco watched and opened his fortune. "Love is inconceivable," it said. He crossed out the "in" so it read, "Love is conceivable." He held the fortune and blew out a candle.

Alexis read her fortune, which said, "Love is behind you." Disgusted she tossed it away. She was startled when she turned around and Mac was there. Alexis babbled that it was a coincidence and that she was not ready. Then she hurried away. Monica and Edward's fortunes said, "love lives on," and "Love is an 'L' word." They laughed and Monica asked if Edward thought that Sam and Jason would make it. Edward said yes and explained that Monica and Alan had made it just as he and Lila had. Monica reminded Edward of all the fights that they'd had. Edward said that it went with the territory.

Jason and Sam thanked their guests and left for their honeymoon in Hawaii. They got on Jason's motorcycle and vowed their love for each other. Franco continued to watch and mused that he was a terrible guest because he had not given them a present. He wondered out loud what to get for the couple that had everything. Inspiration struck, and he realized that Sam and Jason did not have everything. Franco said it was back to basics. He got a spray can and painted letters, symbols, and numbers on a canvas. He looked at the canvas and nodded in satisfaction.

9/28 Jason pulled the motorcycle over to the side of the road so that he and Sam could to take a moment to look up at the stars. Sam pointed to Draco, the dragon constellation. Jason studied the sky for a moment and then asked her where the phoenix constellation was. Sam explained that it was a southern constellation, so it was only visible near the equator. Jason was curious if they would be able to see the Phoenix constellation while they were in Hawaii. Sam admitted that it was possible, but she wondered why Jason had taken them in the opposite direction from the airport. She confessed that she had been hoping to wake up with Jason in Hawaii, so that they could watch the sunrise together.

Jason promised Sam that it would happen, but he didn't seem in a rush to leave. He wondered if there were any other constellations that she wanted to show him. Sam laughed because she suspected that Jason wasn't really interested in stargazing with her. Jason confessed that she saw things differently than he did, so to him it was just a bunch of stars in the sky. He then asked her if there were anything else that she wanted. Sam assured her new husband that she had everything that her heart desired.

Jason cryptically suggested that perhaps there were things that she hadn't even realized that she wanted. Sam smiled, but she was curious if he thought that she held things back from him. Jason smiled back, and then turned the conversation to their unconventional wedding. Sam confided that she had been thinking of her brother, Danny, and how he had been locked in a basement most of his young life because his mother had been ashamed that he had been mentally challenged.

Jason was curious if Danny had ever left the basement, so Sam revealed that Danny's mother would occasionally forget to lock the basement door. According to Sam, Danny would venture to a spring house on the property, where he would stretch out on the floor, and then watch the stars in the night sky through a hole in the roof. Sam explained that Danny had found safety as the moonbeams bathed him in light. She then admitted that she felt the same way when she was with Jason. Sam hoped that her brother was watching over them, and that he was happy for Jason and Sam. Jason hugged his new bride, and then suggested that they leave. Sam feared that they had missed their flight, so Jason revealed that he had something better in mind. Sam smiled, but didn't ask any questions as she climbed onto the back of Jason's motorcycle.

9/29 Jason pulled his motorcycle over to the side of the road, a few miles from where Jason and Sam had been stargazing. "This is the surprise," Jason explained. Sam looked around, but she didn't see anything. Jason took her by the hand, and then led her to a cabin. Sam admitted that she hadn't expected to see a cabin nestled in the woods. Sam was astonished when Jason revealed that he, with the help of a crew, had built the cabin, so he had wanted to spend their wedding night there.

Jason regretted that their wedding hadn't been more elaborate, but Sam insisted that it had been perfect. She confessed that she had felt his heartbeat when he had put his hand in hers during the ceremony, and that the beat of his heart had matched hers. Sam assured Jason that she couldn't have asked for anything more than that. Jason admitted that her story about Danny, stargazing through the hole in the roof of the spring house, had made him want to share the cabin with Sam all the more. Sam wandered to the window, and then looked up at the night sky. She conceded that she could see a lot of stars.

Sam was curious why Jason had chosen that particular spot for the cabin, so Jason revealed that it had been the first place that had felt like home to him. He explained that he had felt trapped in the Quartermaine mansion, following the accident with AJ. Jason had found an abandoned boxcar on the spot where the cabin now stood, so he had taken refuge inside. Sam realized that Jason had been drawn to the boxcar because he had felt safe inside its walls. Jason agreed, and then admitted that he had the same feeling when he was with Sam. Jason and Sam kissed, and then made love.

9/30 On their honeymoon, Sam and Jason cuddled by the fire at the cabin. Jason shared with Sam how special the place had always been to him. He told Sam that he'd never felt at home until he met her. They both promised to simplify their lives. As they prepared to leave to catch their plane, Jason had an intense vision that bothered him. Sam asked what had made him react so strongly, but Jason played it off.

Elsewhere, at what appeared to be another warehouse, an unknown figure wearing flip-flops left behind a crime scene reminiscent of Franco's art. A man in a suit lay unconscious on the floor next to a large stuffed animal, as if deliberately posed. The stranger departed.

10/3 Sam and Jason arrived in Hawaii for their honeymoon. After Jason carried Sam over the threshold of their beachfront cabana and toted in their luggage, Sam fretted that Jason might be tired and need to rest. Jason told Sam that he was fine, and she did not have to worry about him because the surgery had worked. Sam said she could not stop wondering what would have happened if Jason had woken up a different person. If he had woken up as the old Jason Quartermaine, she mused, would he have still loved Sam.

As they lay on chaise lounges on the lanai, Jason reassured Sam. Sam said that she counted on Jason, and Jason replied that he relied on Sam as well. Sam then asked if Jason was nervous about being married. Jason asked the same of Sam. Sam worried that marriage would cause changes. Sam thought she and Jason should set some ground rules. The first rule was that they should ask for what they wanted. Jason asked what Sam wanted, and she responded that she wanted to have deep, meaningful conversations about things that mattered to them. Jason agreed and playfully asked what else she wanted. Sam said there was nothing else, but Jason reminded her that she had wanted a lei when they had been at the airport.

Sam told Jason to surprise her with one. When Sam asked Jason if he knew what a lei meant, he told Sam that it meant love from the one who gives it to the one who receives it. Jason and Sam exchanged reaffirmations of their love for each other. Later, Jason and Sam left the cabana to watch a spectacular sunrise. Franco, wearing a purple lei around his neck, placed a white lei in a florist's box.

10/7 On their honeymoon, Sam and Jason made the best of stormy weather. She challenged him to a surf match on their Wii. A stranger watched them from outside. The rain stopped, so Sam and Jason went to the beach. After they left, the stranger, wearing flip-flops, walked into the house.

Later, Sam and Jason returned, and Jason sloughed off the uneasy feeling that greeted him as merely professional paranoia. Neither he nor Sam noticed the small camera watching their every move.

A package for Josslyn arrived from Jason. Carly was thrilled to find a lei inside the box. Her excitement changed to dread as she read the card included. "For Josslyn, to let you know that I was thinking about you. Aloha, Franco."

Dvd #30B 10/10 Shawn was on the phone in his room at Kelly's when Carly burst in with Josslyn. At first, Shawn thought it was a ploy by Carly to keep him in town, but she showed him the box and note from Franco and insisted that Josslyn was in real danger. Shawn told Carly not to panic. Carly feared that Franco was in Hawaii. She said that she had tried to call both Jason and Sam but neither had answered their phone. Shawn said that perhaps they did not want their honeymoon interrupted by Carly. Shawn called Jason and left a message telling him that Franco had made contact. Shawn packed and prepared to leave for the airport and a plane bound for Hawaii.

Sam panicked when she saw Jason lying on the couch. He was taking a nap, but she thought he was dead. He laughed at her fears and said he was napping because Sam had worn him out. Sam said that she had never seen Jason so relaxed and off-guard. Sam was playful when she showed Jason some of her purchases, including a blue Hawaiian shirt for him. Jason did not want to wear the shirt, but relented and tried it on when Sam insisted. Sam loved the shirt and wanted Jason to wear it to breakfast the next day. Jason said he had a better idea. Jason said they would get a boat and diving gear and go treasure hunting. Sam and Jason shared a laugh and then began kissing. Franco watched them on his spy cam. He started putting paint on a huge canvas, and then applied glue to a small plastic hula dancer, which he pasted in the center of the canvas.

10/11 At Kelly's, Carly had reservations about Shawn going to Hawaii to tell Jason about the present that Franco had sent to Josslyn. She feared that Shawn might be playing into Franco's hand by leaving town. Shawn agreed that his departure might leave Josslyn vulnerable. Shawn immediately objected to Carly's suggestion. He accused her of using it as an excuse to bother Jason while Jason was on his honeymoon with Sam. Carly assured Shawn that Sam had nothing to do with her desire to go to Hawaii. Carly reminded Shawn that Jason had hired him to protect Carly and Josslyn from Franco, because Franco was obsessed with Jason. Carly explained that Franco wanted to hurt Jason by targeting those who were important to Jason.

Carly admitted that she and Jason were more than just friends, because Jason had taught her to love Michael. According to Carly, she and Jason had a special bond that Shawn might not understand, but he should respect. Shawn explained that he intended to go to Hawaii to evaluate the situation, and to determine if there were a threat from Franco. Shawn didn't want to disturb the newlyweds if he didn't have to. Carly suggested that if Shawn could spy on Jason and Sam without them realizing it, then so could Franco. Shawn realized that Carly was used to getting her way, but he refused to give in to her demands.

Carly insisted that Jason would want to know what was going on, so Shawn once again questioned Carly's motives for wanting to go to Hawaii. He was curious why Carly didn't seem to care enough about Jason to respect Jason's time with his new wife. Carly started to explain herself, but then she realized that Shawn was trying to manipulate her. She warned him that it wouldn't work, but Shawn refused to bend. He promised to have a security team set up outside of Carly's house while he was gone. Carly suddenly relented, but she demanded that he call her with updates. Later, Shawn realized he'd been had when Carly, with Josslyn in tow, arrived at the airport.

In Hawaii, Sam confessed that she wished that they could stay. Jason smiled as Sam settled on the floor to flip through a book about shells, to check the meaning of the shells that they had gathered. Sam learned that one of the shells that they had found was a symbol of fertility. She quickly closed the book, but Jason wanted to discuss it. Sam insisted that her fertility reconstruction surgery had been too soon after Jake's death, so she felt as if she had pushed Jason into something that he wasn't ready for. She realized that he was moving forward, but she continued to see the sadness in his eyes.

Jason felt that it wouldn't honor Jake for Jason to turn his back on life, or to close himself off from Sam. Sam confessed that she had been afraid that Jason would leave her while he had been grieving for Jake. Jason quickly assured her that he would never do that. Sam smiled and then admitted that she was glad that she hadn't gotten pregnant after the surgery, because she realized that they hadn't been ready for a child. Jason wondered if she still felt that way. Sam reminded Jason that before his brain surgery, he had told her that he wanted to live, so that they could have a child, if they were lucky enough to have one.

Sam was curious if he still wanted that. Jason couldn't find the words to express himself, so Sam feared that she was once again pushing him. Jason wondered if anyone were ever truly ready for the responsibility of a child. Sam revealed that the thought of having a child with Jason melted her heart, but she thought that they should stay in the moment. However, she wasn't opposed to them practicing getting pregnant. Later, Sam snuggled with Jason on the sofa. She wanted to soak up every second of their honeymoon before reality knocked. Jason suggested that they didn't have to answer if it did.

10/12 In Hawaii, Sam admitted that she preferred the sun and surf of the island over the cold winters in Port Charles. Jason smiled, and promised to keep Sam warm. Sam returned his smile, and then took off for the beach with Jason following close behind. A short time later, Jason carried Sam back to their bungalow after she had been hit by a powerful wave while surfing. Sam assured Jason that she was fine.

After Sam settled on the chaise lounge, outside of their bungalow, she confessed that she was a bit embarrassed that she had wiped out in the water. Jason reminded her that it happened to all of them, but Sam didn't think it was fair. She enjoyed being better at something than Jason was. Sam insisted that his surfing skills were improving daily, so she wouldn't have many more chances to laugh at him. Their conversation took a serious turn when he referred to Sam as Mrs. Morgan. He realized that she might not want to change her last name, but Sam quickly assured him that she loved the sound of "Mrs. Sam Morgan."

Jason wondered what she would do about McCall and Jackal Private Investigations. Sam admitted that her P.I. business might not be in business anymore. She explained that Spinelli had never been good with field work, and that she had ditched all of their clients and cases when Jason had recently been in the hospital. Jason wondered if she wanted to go home, but Sam turned the question around on Jason. Jason explained that he was concerned about Sonny and Shawn, but he didn't want to cut their honeymoon short. Sam was delighted, so she insisted that they return to the ocean to continue surfing.

Later, Sam and Jason returned to the bungalow. Sam noticed that Jason was looking around as if something were wrong. Jason explained that he wasn't used to relaxing, but he had enjoyed their day. Sam pointed out that their day wasn't over, so she invited him to join her in the shower. Sam went to the bathroom, while Jason closed the front door. Moments later, he followed her to the bathroom.

Elsewhere on the island, Franco worked furiously on a piece of art.

10/13 On a plane to Hawaii, Shawn accompanied Carly and Josslyn. Carly worried that Franco might have been gunning for Jason without Jason's knowledge. Shawn admonished Carly to stay out of the way while he went to find Jason. At the beach house, Sam and Jason each discovered that their cell phones were dead and were relieved; neither was in a hurry to return to the real world after their honeymoon. After surfing, they returned to the house. Jason discovered a camera Franco had planted, though he didn't realize what it was. Something about it bothered him, however. Later, Jason's mental flashes resumed, but he couldn't make sense of them.

Shawn arrived and began to poke around outside, when Carly and Josslyn showed up. Shawn berated Carly, who pleaded ignorance. Jason and Sam heard the commotion and were surprised to find the threesome.

Franco worked on his latest art piece. As he finished, he looked at his creation and stated, "Let the games begin."

10/17 Sam was appalled when Carly, Shawn, and Josslyn showed up at the honeymoon cottage she shared with Jason. When Sam said that it had better be important, Carly gave Jason the note from Franco. While Shawn and Jason searched the grounds, Sam and Carly stayed in the cottage. Sam was not happy. She immediately suggested that Carly go back to Port Charles where she could get protection.

Sam wanted to know why Carly persisted in putting herself in the middle of Sam and Jason's honeymoon. Carly insisted that she had been worried that Franco had already struck, and she had needed to contact Jason. Sam responded that there was a better option that just barging in. Shawn and Jason found no sign of Franco. Neither man could tell if the signature on the card was Franco's. Jason said that he could not figure out what Franco was up to. Shawn wondered out loud if Carly could have sent the card and lei for her own reasons. When Jason asked about Carly, Shawn thought Jason meant Shawn's personal feelings for Carly and babbled his ambivalent thoughts. Jason stopped him and said he was asking about Carly's attitude towards Jax.

After Carly put Josslyn to bed, she told Sam that she could not turn to Sonny because of Jax. Sam told Carly to cut out the grieving widow act. Sam said that if Jax was dead, it was just as much Carly's fault as Sonny's. Carly shot back that Sam was one to talk. Carly said that Sam had gone through most of the men in Port Charles before turning to Jason. Sam told Carly to find her own man and not run to Jason with every little problem. Carly said that if Jason had a problem with her, he could talk to her. Sam called Carly "pathetic." The men returned before the ladies exchanged outright blows.

Carly turned to Shawn and said they were leaving, but Jason and Shawn said, "No," they were staying. Sam was not thrilled and wanted to find a nearby cabana for them. Jason said that there had been no sign of Franco, but that did not mean that Franco was not out there. Jason vetoed the idea of another cabana for Shawn, Carly, and Josslyn. He said that they were settled for the night and would figure things out the following day. When Josslyn started crying, Shawn noted that it was going to be a long night.

10/19 In Hawaii, Carly put Josslyn in the playpen, hoping that Josslyn would settle down for the night. Jason suggested that they all get some rest, so that they could figure out how to deal with Franco in the morning. Carly agreed, so she wondered where her bed was. Jason explained that there was only one bed in the bungalow. "And baby makes five," Shawn observed. Carly assured Jason and Sam that she could sleep on the sofa with Josslyn, and then suggested that Shawn take the chair. Shawn explained that he intended to keep watch outside, in case Franco made a move. Jason decided that he would relieve Shawn after a few hours, so Shawn nodded, and then left. Carly assured Jason and Sam that she hadn't flown to Hawaii to ruin their honeymoon.

Jason reminded Carly that Franco was out to get him, so he suggested that they not let Franco jerk them around. Sam agreed, and then assured Carly that everything was fine between them. Sam offered to let Carly and Josslyn take the bed, so Carly scooped up Josslyn, and then headed to the bedroom. Jason realized that he should have anticipated that Franco would have taken advantage of their wedding by making a move.

Sam suggested that Carly had been exaggerating the danger. She was confident that Franco had simply wanted to remind Jason that he was still around. Jason reminded Sam of all the horrible things that Franco had done, including arranging for Michael to be raped in jail, so he was certain that Franco had intended Josslyn's present to be a message. According to Jason, it was part of a pattern designed to let Jason know that Franco was ready to play.

Jason was certain that Franco had left a trail for Jason to follow, so it was up to Jason to figure out what it was. Jason decided to call Bernie. Jason was disappointed that Bernie didn't have any useful information, so Jason instructed Bernie to contact Franco's art dealer, Mr. Von Schlegal, to force him to reveal where Franco was. Jason also ordered Bernie to send Franco's latest catalog of work. Sam wondered if Jason suspected that Franco had left a clue in his art, so Jason pointed out that it wouldn't be the first time.

Shawn entered the bungalow to inform Jason that there were fresh footprints out back. Jason decided to investigate. Seconds later, Carly returned to the living room. Carly explained that she had dropped Josslyn's favorite blanket outside, so Carly needed to fetch it, because Josslyn wouldn't go to sleep without it. Carly handed Josslyn to Sam, and then left. A short time later, Jason bumped into Carly on the path behind the bungalow. He was stunned to see her, so Carly explained that she had been looking for Josslyn's blanket, because Josslyn wouldn't stop crying. Jason realized that he didn't hear Josslyn crying, so Carly and Jason ran into the bungalow, and then stopped short when they saw that Sam and Josslyn were sound asleep on the sofa.

Meanwhile, Franco played with a windup toy baby before he gently put it in a small pink box, and then tied it with a ribbon.

10/24 In Hawaii, Sam woke up on the couch where she had fallen asleep earlier in the evening while cradling a restless Josslyn. She was startled that Josslyn was not in her arms, but Carly said Sam had been the only one who could soothe Josslyn's crying. After watching Sam with Josslyn, Carly had changed her attitude towards Sam. She told Sam that she would be a wonderful mother.

Outside the cabana, Shawn and Jason discussed Franco and Port Charles. Jason said that all they could do was to wait for Franco to make his move. Shawn said that Jason should enjoy his honeymoon while he could. Jason complimented Shawn on his swift thinking and resourceful response to the police and the drugs that had been planted in Sonny's warehouse where Dante had been shot. Jason said he was ready to retire and live in Hawaii permanently. Jason told Shawn that he would hire him as his replacement in a heartbeat. Jason assured Shawn that Sonny would trust Shawn as time passed. Shawn replied that it took time for trust to be earned.

Jason said the business was the same as combat, but Shawn said that there were differences, because in combat, a soldier had to have absolute confidence in his mate. Shawn said that Sonny was like the generals who sent their men into battle without warning of the dangers. Jason said that Sonny had warned Jason before Jason had started working for him. Jason told Shawn that he had chosen to work for Sonny because he'd had no childhood memories to stop him. Shawn murmured that sometimes it was better that way.

The conversation turned to Michael. Jason asked if Sonny had involved Michael in the business problems. Shawn replied that Michael had involved himself. Shawn said that Sonny had tried to send Michael away, but Michael had said it would make the cops suspicious and had refused to leave Port Charles. When Shawn told Jason that Sonny and Johnny had agreed publicly to a truce, Jason was suspicious and told Shawn that Sonny was just biding his time before taking action against the Zaccharas.

Sam was flattered that Carly trusted her with Josslyn. Sam admired how easy Carly made being a single mother look. Sam asked Carly how hard it was to be a parent without Jax to share the duties. Carly said that Sam would never have to worry about Jason leaving her. Carly told Sam that all parents made mistakes and screwed up their kids, but in her opinion, Jason would be a good parent. She asked if Jason and Sam were considering having a child. Sam did not answer, but looked for a tactful way of asking if Carly accepted any responsibility for driving Jax away. When Carly willingly admitted that she had driven Jax away, Sam asked what Carly would do if she suddenly got a second chance with Jax. At that moment, several booms sounded outside. Both women dashed out the cabana door.

Once outside, they could see that fireworks were lighting up the sky and had caused the noise. Jason said it was part of a festival that he and Sam had been planning to attend. Carly encouraged them to go, but Jason said no because the threat of Franco still loomed large. Jason said he and Sam would check on Josslyn and watch the fireworks from the bedroom window. As Jason and Sam went inside, Shawn had a flashback to his time in Afghanistan. Carly noticed and asked if Shawn was okay. He said he was, but Carly was not convinced.

Jason told Sam how beautiful she had looked when she was holding Josslyn and sleeping. He said Sam was a natural-born mother. Sam said that Carly had said the same thing. Jason wanted to know if Sam wanted to have a baby. Sam said that all the trouble they were having might be a message from the universe. As they looked at the sleeping Josslyn, Sam said that the baby was both beautiful and fragile. She said that it took a lot to be parents. Jason asked if that meant that she did or did not want to have a child.

10/25 In the bungalow, Sam admitted that it was a bad time to make life-altering decisions, like having a baby. Sam was disappointed when Jason agreed, because he was concerned about the threat Franco posed. Sam refused to give Franco that kind of power over their lives. She was curious what Jason would have said if Sam had told him that she wanted to have a baby. She wondered if he were suggesting that they should put their lives on hold until Franco was dead. Jason didn't know what to say, but he was curious if Sam were prepared to go through what Carly had endured when Franco had gotten close to Josslyn. Jason was adamant that the only way to deal with Franco was to find him, and then kill him. Sam pleaded with Jason to reconsider, because she didn't want Jason to cut their honeymoon short by going after Franco. Sam was confident that Franco wasn't in Hawaii, and didn't pose an immediate threat to them.

"I'm sorry," Jason replied. He explained that if he couldn't pinpoint where Franco was, then he wanted Sam to return to Port Charles with Carly. Sam refused to give up on their honeymoon. Sam insisted that someone would always need one of them, so it was imperative that they commit to each other, or else they wouldn't make it. Jason reminded Sam that he was committed to her, but Sam argued that they both had high-risk careers, so they should relish the time that they had. Sam refused to let Franco ruin their honeymoon. She realized that Jason would have to find Franco soon, but not right away.

Moments later, Bernie called. After the phone call, Jason and Sam stepped outside to talk to Shawn and Carly. Jason revealed that Franco had been spotted within the last hour at a hotel in Toronto, where he had checked in as C. Firth. Jason confirmed that the hotel's security footage showed a clear image of Franco, so there wasn't any question that Franco was in Canada. Carly remained doubtful, which annoyed Sam. Sam suggested that Carly had ulterior motives for wanting to believe that Franco remained a danger to them. However, Sam insisted that they could all get back to their lives. Shawn decided to take a walk to clear his head, while Sam demanded to know whether Jason planned to go after Franco, or remain in Hawaii on their honeymoon. Sam smiled with satisfaction when Jason agreed to continue their honeymoon.

After Sam returned to the bungalow, Carly expressed her reservations. She insisted that she didn't trust the information that Jason had been given, but Jason was confident that Franco was in Canada. Carly begged Jason not to listen to Sam, because Sam was blind to the danger. Carly was certain that Franco hadn't sent the gift to Josslyn on a whim; he knew that Jason was in Hawaii. Carly believed that the gift was a warning, which Jason needed to heed.

Jason argued that Franco had reached out to him before, without making a move, when Josslyn had been sick. Carly suggested that Franco had been giving Jason some time to get past his grief over losing Jake. Carly insisted that they needed to think like Franco. Jason explained that he didn't want Franco near Port Charles, so it would be dangerous for him to return home. Carly acknowledged that she and Sam didn't like each other, but they cared about Jason. Carly wanted Jason to trust her, so she decided to prove that she trusted him, by revealing that Jax was alive. However, she insisted that Sam couldn't know.

10/26 In Hawaii, Carly confided to Jason that Jax was alive, and then begged Jason not to tell anyone, including Sam. Jason wondered if Carly had seen Jax since the plane crash, so Carly admitted that she hadn't. Jason was curious how she could be certain that Jax was alive. Carly reminded Jason that they had never recovered Jax's body, and then confessed that Jax had been the one to take the boat, which Carly had reported stolen. Carly also admitted that Jax had been quietly funneling money from his business accounts to support his life on the run. Jason was stunned that Carly hadn't told him sooner.

Carly explained that Sonny couldn't find out, because she feared that he would hunt down Jax. Jason agreed, for argument's sake, that Jax was alive. He was curious what Carly intended to do when Jax decided to return to Port Charles. Carly insisted that she would be happy, because it would be in Josslyn's best interest to have a relationship with Jax. Jason suggested that Jax might try to sue for custody of Josslyn, but Carly disagreed. She was certain that Jax had realized that it was best for Josslyn to stay with Carly. Jason wondered if Carly were concerned that Jax might have been badly hurt during the crash. Carly admitted that she had considered that, but then she had realized that Jax had likely turned to Lady Jane for help.

Carly explained that she had never called Lady Jane to tell Jax's mother about the crash. Carly was certain that Lady Jane would have called, looking for Jax, after weeks of not hearing from her son, but she hadn't. Therefore, Carly suspected that Lady Jane knew that Jax was alive. Carly once again begged Jason to promise not to tell anyone. Jason admitted that he wasn't comfortable keeping big secrets from Sonny, because it never ended well. Jason was also reluctant to start his marriage with a lie. He didn't understand why Carly wanted to protect Jax, so Carly reminded Jason that Jax was Josslyn's father. Carly explained that Josslyn might want to have a relationship with Jax one day, so Carly had to do her part to make certain that it happened. Carly insisted that she didn't have anyone to lean on, because she had lost Jax and turned her back on Sonny, and Jason had married Sam. Jason was curious about Carly's divorce from Jax.

Carly confessed that she hadn't finalized the divorce, because it kept her from jumping into another marriage. Jason suggested that Carly try to have faith in herself. Carly chuckled, as she confessed that Shawn had said the same thing. Jason thought that perhaps Carly should listen to Shawn. Carly revealed that Shawn had also advised her not to run to Jason with every little problem. Jason admitted that she should try to handle things herself, but he assured her that he would always be there for Carly if she needed him.

Carly hugged Jason, and then told him that she loved him. Jason started to return to the bungalow, but Carly reminded him that he hadn't promised to keep the secret. She was frustrated when Jason refused. Moments later, Shawn walked up. "All clear?" Shawn wondered. Carly was curious where Shawn had been, so he revealed that he had taken a walk, and then he had gone for a swim.

10/28 At the beach house, honeymooners Sam and Jason discussed Franco's whereabouts. Jason told Sam that he'd have to go to Toronto to look for leads. He needed to do it alone, he explained. Sam understood and vowed to make the most of their time before he had to leave.

Later, Carly harangued Sam for putting Jason in danger by continuing her and Jason's honeymoon. Sam responded by pointing out Carly's penchant for running to Jason whenever Carly was in need. Carly reminded Sam that Franco tormented Jason by targeting the people Jason loved. Jason asked Shawn to look after Carly and her children while Jason was away. Shawn agreed. They returned to the house, and Jason told Carly that he was going after Franco. Jason asked Carly to allow Shawn to protect her and the kids. Shawn, Carly, and Josslyn left. Later, Jason and Sam left to catch some waves. The moment they were gone, someone emerged from underneath the bed.

On the plane, Carly fretted about having left Jason behind. In Josslyn's toy bag was one of Franco's cameras.

11/2 In Hawaii, Sam confessed that the thought of packing and returning home made her want to cry. Jason reminded Sam that they still had a day left of their honeymoon, so she didn't have to pack. Sam noticed that Jason was working on something, so Jason explained that it was a surprise. However, he refused to tell her what it was. Jason went to the bookcase to fetch something, but stopped when he caught a glimpse of his reflection in the mirror. It didn't escape Sam's notice that Jason seemed startled.

Jason assured her that he was fine, and then changed the subject by asking her if she wanted to do anything special before they returned home. Sam admitted that she wanted to stay in. Later, Sam and Jason discussed how they would spend their final evening in Hawaii. Sam wanted to take a walk on the beach, and then confided that she had wanted him to feel as safe with her as she had felt with him. Jason hugged her, but appeared concerned.

Sam decided that it wasn't dark enough to see the stars, so Jason decided to give her the surprise that he had been working on. He had made a necklace out of the shell that she had found on the beach. Sam was touched when he explained that it had reminded him of how happy she had been when she had found it. Sam was curious if he recalled the significance of the fertility shell. "Yes," Jason admitted, but he confessed that he had never believed in those types of things. "But who knows?" he added when she seemed disappointed.

Jason put the necklace on Sam, and then admitted that she loved surprises. "Well, then get ready for the next one," Jason replied. He kissed her, and then Sam wondered what he had in store for her next. Jason explained that it was not there, so Sam decided to challenge him to a "romance-off." Sam explained that they would have a twenty-dollar limit, and one hour, to find something special for each other. After Sam left, Jason seemed uncomfortable as he looked around the bungalow, unaware that Franco spied on him from a secret lair.

11/7 Held captive in a windowless cell, Jason watched a monitor helplessly as Franco walked towards Sam, who was taking a shower. Just as Sam collapsed from the drugged beer she had consumed, Franco caught her in the shower curtain and carried her to the bedroom while Jason screamed for Franco to stop. Jason pounded on the cell door but could not budge it. He watched as Franco laid Sam on the bed and began taking off his shirt. At that point, Franco looked at the bedroom camera and said that he wanted privacy. As Jason shouted, "No." Franco put his shirt over the camera and blotted out the picture.

A tearful and distraught Jason clenched his jaw and seemed to be getting madder and madder as one of Franco's signature mechanical monkeys could be seen and heard clapping on the monitor. It effectively blocked out the audio feed just as Franco's shirt blocked the video feed in the cabana bedroom. Jason was forced to imagine what Franco was doing to Sam.

11/8 In an undisclosed location in Hawaii, Franco strummed a ukulele as Jason stood in the white room, demanding to know what Franco had done to Sam. Jason appeared tortured as the television screen continued to show static. Jason desperately searched for a way out of the room, until the door quietly slid open. Jason slowly made his way to the door, looked down the hallway, and then left when he realized that it was empty. Moments later, a barefooted Franco entered Jason's temporary prison. It appeared that Franco had blood on the soles of his feet.

Meanwhile, Jason returned to the bungalow, where Sam slept soundly in bed. He gently shook Sam until she woke up. Jason wondered if she were okay, so she assured him that she was fine. Jason was curious what she recalled. Sam seemed confused by the question, as she slowly told him that she remembered finding his note, taking a sip of beer, and then showering. Sam reminded Jason that he knew the rest, since he had entered the bathroom, while she had been in the shower.

Jason looked stricken as he pushed Sam for more details. Sam wanted to know what was going on, but Jason refused to tell her anything. He insisted that she tell him everything that had happened. Sam admitted that her memory was fuzzy, but she recalled Jason being in bed with her. "It wasn't me in bed with you," Jason quietly admitted. Sam was confused, so Jason added that he hadn't left her the note either. "Then who was it?" Sam demanded to know. "It was Franco," Jason answered.

11/9 In Hawaii, Sam refused to believe that Franco had been in the bungalow with her. She insisted that it had been Jason, but Jason explained that the beer that she had sipped from had been drugged. He revealed that the same thing had happened to him, which was how he had ended up waking up in a room with a television monitor, so that he could watch what had transpired. "Watch what?" Sam nervously wondered. Jason gently explained that Franco had put cameras in the bedroom of their bungalow. Sam anxiously asked what Jason had seen, and then demanded to know what Franco had done to her.

Jason's eyes filled with pain as he told her that he had seen Sam get dizzy in the shower, and that Franco had carried Sam to the bedroom. Jason admitted that he had watched Franco take off his shirt, and then drape it over the camera, so that Jason couldn't see what had happened next. Sam became upset when she realized that the implication was that Franco had sexually violated her. Sam insisted that it was crazy, because Franco couldn't have known what they had been planned for the evening. Jason quietly explained that Franco had been spying on them, using cameras that had been hidden all over the bungalow. Sam became distraught as she argued that they didn't know for certain what Franco had done to her, since Franco had covered the camera.

Jason vowed to find Franco, and then kill him. Sam's eyes filled with tears as Jason then gently suggested that he take her to the hospital to be examined. Sam refused to go; she insisted that she just needed to shower. Jason didn't think that it was a good idea, but Sam was adamant that she just needed to get clean. Jason relented, so he wrapped Sam in a robe, and then walked her to the bathroom. Sam insisted that she needed some time alone, so she went into the bathroom alone.

Jason returned to the bedroom, where he slid to the floor as he listened to Sam take a shower. Jason's eyes welled up with tears as he heard Sam vigorously scrub herself, and then begin to sob. Eventually, Jason went to the bathroom, grabbed a towel, turned off the water, and then wrapped the towel around his wife as she sat on the floor.

A short time later, Jason held Sam as they curled up on the lounge chair under the stars. Sam thanked Jason for keeping his promise to always end their night by gazing at the stars. Jason admitted that he knew that they made her feel safe. Sam assured Jason that he made her feel safe, but Jason seemed tormented by her quiet confession.

11/10 In Hawaii, Jason fetched Sam's necklace from the bungalow. Sam explained that she couldn't return to the bungalow, because of what had happened with Franco. Jason offered to collect her things, but Sam didn't want anything else inside the bungalow. She confessed that she couldn't stop thinking about Franco, and then wondered if it were possible that Franco might still be in Hawaii. Jason blamed himself for not finishing things with Franco when he had the chance. Sam assured Jason that they would deal with Franco together, so Jason vowed that he would not take his eyes off of Sam again.

Sam had no idea where to start their search for Franco, so Jason decided to go to the place where Jason had been held captive. The moment that they entered the white room, Jason realized that Franco had been there. He pointed to the tag that Franco had left behind. "NO2CCAH5" was spray-painted on the wall in bold red paint, with an "X" through the "O". Jason suspected that it was Franco's new signature, and that the intention had been to garner a reaction from Jason.

Jason told Sam about waking up in the room to see Sam on the monitor, while Franco closed in on her in the shower. Jason's temper flared as he tore the television monitor out of the wall, and then shouted, "Is this what you want, Franco? You want me to lose it?" Sam immediately reached out to Jason, to calm him down, and then urged him not to play into Franco's hand. Sam suggested that they figure out the meaning of the graffiti, so Jason decided to snap a picture of it with his cell phone.

Sam spotted something in the pile of debris near where Jason had thrown the television monitor. It appeared to be a room key that read, "Maholo 5." Jason warned Sam that it might be a trap, but Sam reminded Jason that they were in it together. Jason admitted that he just wanted to see her smile again, but she insisted that she just wanted their nightmare to be over. Later, Jason and Sam entered the hotel room that the key had led them to. They were startled to find a dead woman sprawled on the floor, wearing a grass skirt, and holding a small figurine that was dressed in a similar fashion.

Franco's tag appeared on a nearby wall, along with the message, "Aloha." Jason called the police to report the murder, and then suggested that they leave, since he had seen what Franco had wanted Jason to see. Sam realized that Jason didn't think that it was over with Franco. Jason pointed out that Franco liked to play games, so it would never be over. Jason recalled a conversation he'd had with Franco, when Franco had told Jason that he and Jason were the same. Jason warned Sam that Franco wanted Jason to find him, so that they could finish things once and for all. Sam promised that she would be at Jason's side when that happened.

11/11 Sam and Jason returned to the penthouse. Sam was not heartened by all of the wedding presents that awaited them. Jason urged Sam to talk to someone about what Franco had done to her. Sam focused on making Franco pay, though she felt responsible for having minimized the danger he'd posed.Jason told Sam, in no uncertain terms, that he loved her and would support her, always. After Jason left for his doctor's appointment, she began to open presents. Rage overcame her, and she smashed the boxes.

11/14 When Jason arrived at GH, Monica told him that Elizabeth had been thrown overboard by Lisa Niles and had contracted pneumonia. She told him that Liz was hallucinating and calling for Jake. When Jason entered her room, Elizabeth was delirious as she held on to Jason and begged him to take her home to Jake, who needed her. Matt looked on as Elizabeth told Jason that he was the only one who could help her. Matt asked Jason to leave, but Monica appeared and said to let Jason stay. Jason soothed Elizabeth as Monica and Matt worked to reduce her fever. Matt and Monica stabilized Elizabeth, who returned to normal and remembered her delirium as a dream. She thanked Jason, who left after telling Elizabeth to get some rest. Monica followed Jason out of the room. She thanked him for helping with Elizabeth and acknowledged that it could not have been easy to listen to Elizabeth talk about Jake as though Jake were alive.

Monica asked about the honeymoon, but Jason was not very responsive. Monica asked if anything was wrong, but Jason said, "No." Monica hugged Jason. She told him that they were family and that he could talk to her about anything at any time. When Monica left, Jason pulled the pamphlet about helping victims of sexual assault out of his pocket and looked at it. Jason was on the phone when he arrived at Sonny's office. He told Max to find Franco and deliver Franco directly to him. Jason said he would take care of the rest. Sonny looked at Kate's picture as he toyed with his phone.

11/15 When Sam entered the penthouse, Spinelli proudly presented Sam with a few post-wedding gifts, in Chinese takeout boxes. Spinelli seemed oblivious to Sam's subdued manner as he rambled about the wedding gifts. Spinelli then shifted gears to inquire about Sam and Jason's honeymoon. Spinelli hoped that the honeymoon had lived up to Sam and Jason's expectations, but Sam said little. Spinelli was eager to hear about their adventures in Hawaii, so Sam explained that she and Jason had kept to themselves. Spinelli noticed the necklace that Sam was wearing. He realized that the shell represented fertility, so he gleefully wondered if he should expect an announcement soon.

Sam quickly changed the subject by asking about McCall and Jackal Private Investigations. Spinelli confessed that his cyber skills were gone; however, new skills had emerged. Sam was impressed when she noticed that Spinelli could twirl a basketball on the tip of his finger. Her smile vanished when Spinelli revealed his intentions to move out of the "regrettably pink room." Sam insisted that Spinelli continue to live with them, but Spinelli didn't want to be in the way. He reminded her that circumstances had changed, so things were different. Sam disagreed, and then argued that she had already discussed it with Jason, and that they had agreed that Spinelli should continue to live in the penthouse.

Later, Sam opened a fortune cookie, tucked into the gifts that Spinelli had given to her. Sam dropped the slip of paper on the desk, which read, "Love will take you where you never thought possible."

At Pozzulo's, Sonny was startled to see Jason sitting in the restaurant. Jason quickly hid the brochure on sexual assault, which he had picked up at the hospital, before Sonny noticed it. Sonny was curious how Jason's honeymoon with Sam had gone, so Jason simply answered, "Fine." Sonny confessed that he had heard about Franco's attempt to contact Jason, so Sonny wondered what had happened. Jason admitted that Franco had tried to get to Jason through Carly. Sonny was frustrated, because Carly hadn't talked to Sonny about it. Sonny couldn't believe that Carly had had the audacity to crash Jason and Sam's honeymoon, with Josslyn in tow, to warn Jason about Franco.

Sonny's temper flared when Jason revealed that Carly had tagged along with Shawn, who had intended to warn Jason about Franco. Sonny pointed out that Sonny was the head of the crime organization, so it had been wrong of Shawn to go to Jason. Sonny suspected that Shawn had simply hoped to score points with Carly. Jason defended Shawn, and then reminded Sonny that Shawn had been dependable during Jason's absence by helping Sonny hide the uncut hydrocodone that had been planted in the warehouse. Sonny conceded that he'd had a rough patch, but things were better.

Sonny assured Jason that Jason's "clean up services" were not needed, because Michael was successfully running the coffee warehouse, Kristina had gone to Yale, Morgan doing well in military school, and Dante and Lulu had become engaged. Jason was curious how Sonny was doing. Sonny admitted that Kate had been a "godsend." Sonny had no idea where his relationship with Kate was headed. "Maybe somewhere good, like you and Sam," Sonny suggested. Jason's expression became guarded, but Sonny didn't notice. After Sonny left, Jason returned to reading the pamphlet on rape.

11/17 At the penthouse, Spinelli was concerned when he heard Jason yelling at Max to find Franco. After Jason ended the call, Spinelli wondered what Franco had done to make Jason so angry. Jason explained that Franco had victimized another woman, and that he had left another, more elaborate, tag. Jason showed Spinelli the snapshot of the tag that Jason had taken on the cell phone, and then demanded to know where Spinelli's laptop was. Spinelli admitted that it was at the office, because Spinelli had anticipated having to move out of the penthouse; however, Sam had explained that it wasn't necessary. Jason seemed startled by the information, but didn't comment beyond instructing Spinelli to figure out the meaning of Franco's new tag.

Sam entered the living room, so Jason waited until Spinelli had left before questioning Sam about inviting Spinelli to continue living in the penthouse. Jason worried that Sam was afraid to be alone with Jason, so he quickly assured her that she could talk to him. Sam admitted that she doubted that it would do any good, but she promised Jason that she trusted him, and that she felt safe with Jason. However, she didn't think that there was any rush for Spinelli to move out. Jason disagreed, because everything had changed. Sam was curious what he meant by that, so Jason reminded her that they were married.

Sam explained that she didn't want her life to suddenly be different. She wanted to be surrounded by the people who made her feel secure. Jason realized that Sam was looking to feel safe again. Sam assured Jason that she would get there, but Jason feared that he wasn't helping the situation. Sam knew that he was trying to help her, but his constant digging for things that weren't there was driving her crazy. Sam insisted that she didn't need that kind of stress.

Jason admitted that he didn't know what to do, so Sam explained that there was nothing to do, because he had gotten her through the worst of it. Jason gently assured Sam that asking for help was not a sign of weakness, but Sam asked him to drop it. She insisted that she didn't want to talk about what had happened in Hawaii. Jason refused to let the matter drop, so he handed her the pamphlet on sexual assault that he had picked up at the hospital. He admitted that he thought that she should get some help. Sam glanced at the pamphlet, and then warned him that she would not join a group of strangers whom she had nothing in common with. Sam was adamant that she would deal with what had happened in Hawaii on her own. According to Sam, she didn't need to hear the horror stories of other women who had been raped, because Sam didn't remember what had happened with Franco.

Sam admitted that she had imagined the worst, but she didn't have an awful, violent story to share with women who had been assaulted. Sam insisted that it would just make her feel worse if she had to listen to what other women had endured during their rapes. Jason was startled when Sam revealed that she needed to be alone for a while. Jason was curious what that meant, so Sam assured him that she loved him. However, she could see that he was in pain, which made her want to help him. Sam explained that she couldn't help Jason until she had helped herself. Sam went to the bedroom, so Jason picked up the pamphlet, and then tore it up.

11/21 Jason sat at the desk in the restaurant office and made a phone call to a number he believed to belong to Franco. He did not get Franco, but did get an answering machine. Jason's anger increased as he told Franco that he was going to find him and kill him. Jason said that if Franco wanted to play games, Jason would play, but he told Franco to leave Sam out of it. When the answering machine cut him off, Jason slammed the handset on the desk.

Sam stood on the terrace of Jason's penthouse. She was lost in thought when a hand tapped her on the shoulder. She reacted and pinned the person with his arm behind his back. Sam apologized for overreacting when she saw that it was Michael. Michael also apologized for letting himself in and sneaking up on her. Michael noted that Sam did not seem relaxed after her honeymoon, but quickly blamed it on Carly's intrusion with Josslyn. Sam did not correct him. Michael said he was there to see Jason because he was worried about Abby. When Sam inquired, Michael said that girls from Vaughn's were being roughed up after hours. Sam asked if a police report had been filed. Michael said he had told Dante, but Michael did not think that the plight of a few strippers was very high on the police priority list. Michael said that he hoped that Jason could help find the animal responsible for the attacks.

Sam said that she would take the case. She said that she wanted to get back to work, and she would like to stop the man responsible for hurting Abby's friends. Michael was grateful to Sam. He said that the attacks evoked bad feelings for Abby. Sam said that Abby had been lucky because Michael had stopped Brandon from beating and raping Abby. Michael said he was the lucky one because helping Abby had helped him overcome the helplessness and shame he had felt after being raped in prison.

Michael said that at first he had tried to forget but could not. He said finally being able to talk with Abby about what had happened had been the start of his recovery. Without telling what happened to her, Sam said that Michael was better off being able to remember. She said that victims of the date rape drug did not remember and could not confront what had happened to them and would always imagine the worst. Michael said he had never looked at it that way and that Sam had a point. Sam told Michael that he had a lot of courage. Sam said that it was not always possible to hurt the one who had hurt you, so they could go after the animal hurting Abby's friends instead.

Monica arrived and was delighted to see both Michael and Sam. She immediately invited Michael to Thanksgiving dinner, but he said that he had plans for dinner at Carly's. Monica understood, but secured his promise to show up for dessert. When Michael was gone, Monica told Sam that she was family and invited both Sam and Jason to Thanksgiving dinner. Sam said she would tell Jason. Monica said she had seen Jason at the hospital, but he had not gotten his checkup because of Elizabeth. She told Sam about Elizabeth's high fever and delirious condition and how Jason had calmed her down. Sam said that Jason was good at taking care of others. Monica responded that since Jason and Sam were married, Sam should be Jason's only priority.

When Jason hurried in, Shawn excused himself to look in on Josslyn while Carly and Jason talked. Jason told Carly that she had been right, that Franco had been in Hawaii. Jason quickly detailed Franco's murderous actions, omitting what had happened to Jason and Sam. Jason added that Franco had disappeared but would be back. Jason agreed when Carly said that he and Sam should have returned with her. Jason said he was trying to get everything in place so he could keep everyone safe.

Carly said she hoped Franco tried to get to her. Jason did not agree, but Carly insisted that that she wanted a chance for payback on the person who had sent an animal to rape her son. Jason said that Franco would not stop and that everyone Jason loved was vulnerable. Jason got very angry and said that he was to blame for everything because Franco should be dead. Carly asked what was wrong and told Jason that she did not blame him. Jason said that Carly should blame him because it was his fault that Franco was still alive. Jason said that he had wanted to give Sam something special because of all that she had given him. Instead, said Jason, he had led her into a trap. Carly said that Sam was a big girl who could take care of herself.

Jason noticed one of Franco's camera creations among Josslyn's toys. He picked it up and asked if she had taken it home from Hawaii. Carly said yes, but before she could ask questions, Shawn returned with a picture that Josslyn had drawn. As they looked at the drawing, Carly told Shawn that Franco was back. Shawn admitted that Jason had updated him and asked him to watch out for Carly and Josslyn. Jason took a look at the graffiti that Franco had left for him in Hawaii before opening the door to his penthouse. Sam was inside. Jason asked if they could go to lunch or do something that got them out of the apartment. Monica walked out of the kitchen. She told Jason about Thanksgiving dinner. Jason started to decline, but Sam said she wanted to go and be with his family.

Sonny walked out of his office as an angry Jason rushed in. Sonny said he was leaving for a few days. When Jason murmured that it was nice, Sonny asked what was wrong and said that Jason only said, "nice" when something was wrong. Jason said that he still had not found Franco. Sonny said he could cancel his trip if Jason needed him. Jason told Sonny to go because he could handle the situation. Sonny replied that he had forgotten that Jason had never been a kid and did not know how to cope when someone made him feel helplessness.

Sonny said that Jason did the kid thing and turned that person into a monster. Sonny told Jason that a monster or psychopath could die like anyone else. Sonny said all Jason had to do was take him into an alley and put two caps in his head, and the monster's power would be gone. Before walking out, Jason told Sonny that just because the monster was dead did not mean that a person was free. Sonny looked down at the keys, which he was holding in his hand, to the Bensonhurst house where he had grown up.

11/23 At Kelly's, Jason admitted to Shawn that Franco had been pushing Jason to find out what kind of person Jason was. Shawn cautioned Jason not to play into Franco's hand, but Jason was determined to show Franco exactly what Jason was capable of doing. Jason stormed out of the diner just as Carly and Josslyn arrived. Carly called out to Jason, but he kept walking. Shawn met Carly at the door, so she asked him what was going on with Jason.

Jason arrived home to see Sam asleep on the sofa. Jason gently tapped Sam's shoulder to let her know that he was home, but she jumped up, startled. Jason immediately apologized for scaring her, but Sam assured him that she had just overreacted. Jason revealed that he had been out all night, looking for Franco, without success. Sam was certain that Franco would stay far away from Port Charles after what had happened in Hawaii. Jason mentioned that he had talked to Shawn about Franco, so Sam questioned if Jason had told Shawn about what Franco had done to her. Sam relaxed when Jason assured her that he hadn't told anyone. She explained that it should be her decision.

Later, Sam returned to the living room after she changed into something to wear to the Quartermaines. Jason wondered if she still wanted to spend Thanksgiving with his family, or if she would rather stay home to watch a game, and spend time with Spinelli. Sam revealed that Spinelli had gone to "to his nanny's" for Thanksgiving. Jason was surprised that Spinelli hadn't mentioned it, so Sam explained that Spinelli had been avoiding Jason. Jason was shocked; he thought that Spinelli was "back to normal." Sam revealed that it was only partly true, because Spinelli hadn't regained his cyber-skills. Sam insisted that people didn't get over a traumatic event easily or quickly. Jason realized that she was talking about what had happened to her in Hawaii, so he tried to comfort her. Sam confessed that she was frustrated, because she didn't know what she needed.

Later, Sam and Jason selected a bottle of wine to take to the Quartermaines. Sam was curious if the wine were expensive, so Jason explained that Carly had given it to him. Sam grew somber as she confessed that she regretted that she hadn't listened to Carly when Carly had shown up in Hawaii. Sam admitted that she had been more determined to prove Carly wrong, because she had suspected Carly of having ulterior motives for intruding on their honeymoon. "Stop punishing yourself," Jason gently ordered Sam.

Jason thought that it would be best to skip going to the Quartermaines, but Sam disagreed. Sam suggested that it would be better to spend time with the Quartermaines, instead of sitting around trying to figure out what to say to each other. Sam left the room to grab her coat, so Jason called Bernie to get an update on the search for Franco. Jason was frustrated when Bernie revealed that they didn't have any new leads. Jason warned Bernie to find something, because Jason needed to end things, once and for all.

At the Quartermaine mansion, Alice put the finishing touches on the holiday decorations. Monica warned Alice that it was too much for a pizza dinner, but Edward announced that he had ordered Cook to prepare a traditional Thanksgiving dinner to celebrate Jason joining them. Monica worried that Jason would feel overwhelmed. Monica and Edward warmly greeted Jason and Sam. Tracy hovered on the end of the sofa in a sullen mood, because she was upset over Luke's absence, and Edward's callous decision. Tracy accused Monica and Edward of fawning over a "thug" and a "gold-digger." Jason glared at his aunt, as Tracy questioned why Monica and Edward refused to accept that Jason didn't want anything to do with them.

Jason stepped away to calm down, so Sam pulled Michael aside to find out how things were going with Abby's friends who had been attacked. Michael was curious if Jason were upset about Sam's involvement in the case, because Jason had seemed tense. Sam assured Michael that everything was fine. Meanwhile, in the foyer, Jason called Bernie for an update on Franco. Jason's temper flared when Bernie revealed that they didn't have any new leads.

Edward announced that they had waited long enough for Luke to arrive, so Edward instructed Alice to serve dinner. Michael asked Jason and Sam about their honeymoon. Jason quietly seethed as Sam haltingly revealed that she had taught Jason how to surf. Jason left the room, to cool off in the foyer, so Sam followed him. Jason revealed that the dead woman's body had disappeared out of the room by the time the police in Hawaii had arrived. Sam immediately regretted showering, instead of going to the hospital, because all of the evidence against Franco was gone.

Monica entered the foyer to announce that dinner was ready. Jason admitted that he didn't think he should stay, so Monica implored Jason to reconsider. Jason reluctantly entered the parlor with Sam in tow. Edward was delighted that they finally had a real Thanksgiving dinner, so he invited everyone to sing a traditional Thanksgiving song. Jason noticed that Sam appeared uncomfortable. Seconds later, everyone was shocked when Jason suddenly upended the table, scattering food everywhere, and then stormed out. Sam looked around apologetically, and then followed her husband.

11/28 Sam and Jason returned home from the Quartermaine mansion, and she asked if he was okay, because he had blown up in front of everyone. He was concerned about how his outburst had affected Michael, and Sam said that both she and Michael were worried about Jason. Sam apologized for pushing to spend Thanksgiving with the Quartermaines. She prayed that eventually they'd be able to live their lives without picturing Franco.

Jason wished he'd killed Franco, because one bullet could have prevented the look he saw in both Michael and Sam's eyes. Jason felt responsible that Franco had taken something from Sam, and he vowed to make Franco pay. Sam urged Jason to live their lives, and he expressed disbelief that she could just let it go. She suddenly realized that he'd never gone in for his follow-up visit at the hospital. Sam theorized that Jason's anger could be a side effect from his head injury, but Jason swore that it had nothing to do with the surgery. He apologized, because she had to deal with much more, but she sobbed that she had no memory, while he did. He asked if it would help her to remember, and she explained that without memories of Franco's face or touch, she could only imagine the worst. Jason slowly reached out to hold her, but he drew back.

11/30 Jason returned home after a motorcycle ride to try to clear his head. He joined Sam on the balcony, as she gazed up at the stars. Sam explained that she had been hoping that the stars would work their magic on her, but her life was a mess. Jason assured Sam that he was there for her. "Yeah, I know," Sam replied. Jason was disappointed when Sam decided to take a walk alone, to watch the sunrise. Jason wanted to send some bodyguards along, but Sam declined. "What worse could happen to me?" Sam wondered, and then left. Moments later, Jason received a frantic call from Carly.

At Carly's house, Carly was certain that Franco had sent the package that had been left on her doorstep. Shawn pointed out that Christmas was around the corner, so Jax could have sent it. Carly shook her head, and then revealed the details about her first encounter with Franco, on a Christmas tree lot. She feared that the package might be Franco's twisted way of celebrating the season. Shawn urged Carly not to jump to conclusions, and then carried the package into the living room.

Shawn opened the package, which contained two small gifts. The first gift was the tiny doll that Franco had played with in Hawaii. The second gift was a DVD for Josslyn, which Carly put into the computer. On the DVD, Franco greeted Josslyn, and then confessed that he hoped that Carly would let Josslyn watch the video. Franco regretted that he couldn't be there to tuck Josslyn in every night, so Franco decided to offer Josslyn some "words of comfort."

"I'm so sorry that your daddy up and left without you. Left you with one less set of eyes to watch over you, one less set of hands to reach for," Franco ominously said. Carly quickly turned off the DVD. She pointed out that she had been right to be worried that Franco was after Josslyn. Shawn assured Carly that Franco wouldn't touch Josslyn, but Carly refused to take any chances, so she called Jason.

A short time later, Jason arrived to view the DVD that Franco had sent. Franco talked about various people abandoning Josslyn, but vowed to always be there for her. Jason's temper flared when Carly showed Jason the small wind-up baby doll that Franco had put in the package. Carly insisted that Franco's remarks about Josslyn not having a father, and the toy, were proof that Franco intended to snatch Josslyn.

Images of Franco carrying Sam out of the shower, and then to the bed in the Hawaiian bungalow, flashed through Jason's mind. Without warning, Jason's temper exploded as he threw one of Josslyn's toys across the room. Jason quickly apologized, but Carly wanted to know what was going on. Jason assured Carly that it was nothing, but Carly didn't believe him. She warned Jason not to let Franco see that Franco had gotten to Jason, because Franco enjoyed watching Jason suffer. Jason insisted that Franco couldn't do any worse than Franco had already done, but Carly disagreed. She pointed out that Franco could take Josslyn. Jason promised that he wouldn't let that happen, so Carly urged Jason to stop Franco before Franco made a move against Josslyn.

At Jake's, Abby spotted Johnny near the jukebox with Ranelle and another girl from Vaughn's. Abby approached the trio, and then revealed that she had seen the closed sign at Vaughn's. Johnny explained that the strip club would remain closed until the person responsible for attacking the women who worked at Vaughn's was caught. Moments later, a drunken customer accosted Abby and Ranelle's friend. Johnny was furious, so he shoved the guy up against the jukebox, and then warned the man to stay away from the women.

After the drunken patron walked away, Ranelle revealed that Johnny had decided to continue to pay the dancers while Vaughn's was closed. Johnny was curious why Abby had sought him out. Abby explained that she had been hoping that Johnny could find the person responsible for the attacks on the dancers, before someone else was hurt. Neither Johnny nor Abby were aware that a stranger, whose face was obscured by a hooded jacket, sat at a nearby table, eavesdropping on Abby and Johnny's conversation.

A few minutes later, Abby was on her way out when she bumped into Sam, who had just entered the bar. Abby was surprised to see Sam, so Sam revealed that Michael had asked Sam to look into the attacks on the women who worked at Vaughn's. Sam spotted Johnny, so Sam considered going undercover at Vaughn's. Abby reminded Sam that Sam was a newlywed, so Abby didn't think that it was a good idea. Sam and Abby became distracted when the drunken patron, who had bothered Abby's friend earlier, staggered out of the bar. Sam decided to follow the man, so she left.

A short time later, Sam found herself standing in an alley on the waterfront. Sam became uneasy when she spotted a familiar graffiti tag that was still wet. She was unaware that a man stood nearby, watching her.

12/1 In the waterfront alley, Sam showed Jason the graffiti tag, NO2CCAH5, which proved that Franco was in Port Charles. Sam was certain that the letters and numbers meant something, but Jason didn't want Sam to get further involved. Sam insisted that it was personal, so she refused to sit back while Jason hunted Franco down. However, she was concerned about Jason, because of his explosive temper, and how he had blamed himself for what had happened in Hawaii. Jason argued that it was his fault, but Sam quickly clarified that Franco had been responsible.

Jason explained that he didn't like Sam wandering around town alone with Franco on the loose. Sam explained that she had been investigating the attacks on the women at Vaughn's, but Jason thought that Sam should leave it to the police to handle. Sam scoffed; she doubted that the police cared. She was adamant that she had to help the women. Jason backed down when he realized that Sam's need to find the person who had attacked the dancers at Vaughn's stemmed from what had happened to Sam in Hawaii.

Sam revealed that she had followed a man from Jake's, who had made some "sleazy comments" to some of the dancers. Sam suspected that the man might have been the attacker, but she had lost him in the alley. Jason remained upset about Sam putting herself in a dangerous situation. He feared that Franco might be watching them. He didn't want Franco to see the effect that he'd had on Jason and Sam's marriage. Sam was surprised when Shawn suddenly entered the alley.

Shawn explained that Jason had asked Shawn to follow up on Franco's latest present. Shawn studied the graffiti tag, while Jason quickly filled Sam in on what Franco had left on Carly's doorstep. Sam was curious if Shawn knew what the tag meant. Shawn revealed that it appeared to be the elements from the Periodic Table. According to Shawn, the symbols represented oxygen, carbon, calcium, and nitrogen. Sam was curious about the last symbol, so Shawn admitted that he had no idea what it meant. However, Shawn explained that the symbols in the tag were the most prevalent elements in the human body. Shawn then revealed that, by mass, the human body was 80% water, "hence the two." Sam realized that the symbols were part of a puzzle. Shawn showed Sam the small pink box that Franco had sent, so she stepped away to look inside. Sam seemed uneasy as she saw the small windup baby inside the box. After Shawn left, Jason urged Sam to leave, but Sam refused.

Moments later, Spinelli arrived in the alley. Jason explained that he needed Spinelli's help to decipher the meaning of Franco's graffiti tag. Spinelli used his phone to contact one of his friends, whom Spinelli believed might be able to help. Within moments, Spinelli revealed that the symbols were ancient in origin, and that they related to "the bond to the creator." Sam pointed out that Franco was a creator of art. Spinelli suggested that perhaps the message was in reference to something that was already in existence, like something that Franco had created in Hawaii during Jason and Sam's honeymoon. Sam looked uneasy at the realization that the clues pointed to the possibility that Franco might have tried to get Sam pregnant.

12/2 Michael talked on the phone to Sam about Lindsay's attack. He asked whether Sam was concerned that Abby might be in danger.

12/6 Jason spotted Sam sitting in the alley where Franco's latest graffiti tag had been found. Jason gently suggested that it wasn't a good idea for her to be there alone, because it was what Franco would want. Jason assured her that he wouldn't stop until he hunted Franco down, and then ended it. Sam confessed that she doubted that it would ever end. Jason admitted that hanging out in the alley wouldn't speed things along. Sam explained that she had been in the alley, because she had hoped to pick up a trail on the man that she had followed from Jake's. Jason reminded her that it wasn't necessary to cover with him; they both knew what Franco had done. Sam promised Jason that she wasn't trying to push him away. Jason confessed that he couldn't forget what it had been like to be stuck in the room as Franco targeted Sam.

Jason suddenly recalled a time when Franco had vowed that things would end when Franco decided. Franco had advised Jason to play nice, if Jason wanted answers. Jason returned to the present as he promised Sam that he would figure out Franco's next move. Sam admitted that Jason had been right to insist that they stop obsessing over what Franco had done, because Franco would win. "Not this time," Jason assured her. Sam begged Jason to go to Jake's with her for a few beers, and to be normal again, even if it were for a few minutes, but Jason declined, because he needed to take care of things.

Carly decided to tell Shawn about Michael's rape in Pentonville, but she warned Shawn not to say anything to Michael. Shawn realized why Jason was desperate to get to Franco, so Shawn assured Carly that he wouldn't let Franco near Carly, or her children. After Shawn went to check on the security system, Jason arrived. Carly told Jason about what had transpired with Michael and Shawn a few minutes earlier, and then admitted that she was worried, because Michael tended to be just like Sonny when Michael was angry.

After Jason left, Shawn set the alarm, and then asked Carly to pick up her shoes, which were scattered everywhere. He was afraid that he might trip over them during the night. Carly stubbornly refused to pick up her shoes, because it was her house. However, she promised to get to it in the morning. Later, Carly watched with appreciation as Shawn did pushups on the living room floor, unaware of his audience.

At Jake's, Garrett Floyd and Diane sat down at the bar, and then ordered drinks. Diane informed Coleman that Garrett had stepped down as mayor to focus on running his newspaper, the Herald. Diane revealed that the newspaper would be overhauled, and renamed the Port Charles Press. Garrett explained that he intended to put the ugliness of the scandal that his late wife, Andrea, had created behind him, by launching his new career using his middle name, Prescott. "Pres for short," Diane added. Pres Floyd revealed that his new mission was to fight for the little people, and then added that Diane had been hired to write a weekly column. "The Port Charles Confidential," Diane clarified. Coleman warned Diane that her columns had already ticked people off. Pres confessed that they had also generated a lot of revenue for the newspaper. Coleman was curious how it felt for Pres to look for dirt, instead of covering it up. Pres smiled, and then admitted that he wouldn't have it any other way.

Sam entered Jake's, and then approached Ranelle's table. Ranelle was seated with a friend, Kara, who had been a victim of the man stalking the women from Vaughn's. Sam wondered if Kara had recalled anything that might help to identify the attacker, but Kara confessed that she had never seen the man's face. Sam was curious if there had been anything familiar about the man. Kara and Ranelle exchanged a look, prompting Sam to realize that Kara had recognized something about the man. They were unaware that Pres Floyd's interest had been piqued when he had overheard their exchange.

Seconds later, Michael marched into Jake's, and then made a beeline for Ranelle and Kara's table. Michael loudly demanded know what the ladies knew about the man attacking the dancers from Vaughn's. Sam was startled by Michael's aggressive behavior, so she suggested that he calm down. Sam assured Michael that she had been discussing the case with the ladies, so his attitude had been uncalled for. Michael insisted that he had been trying to help, so Sam pulled him aside to continue their discussion privately. Michael explained that Abby might be the next victim, even though Abby had stopped taking her clothes off for a living.

Sam was shocked by the implication that Kara, and the other women, had somehow deserved to be attacked because they were strippers. Michael was hurt that she would think that about him, after what he had been through. Sam immediately apologized for overreacting, but Michael suspected that something else was going on with Sam. Sam explained that she just had been taken aback by the way he had talked to Ranelle and Kara.

Michael admitted that he was in a bad place, because he had recently learned that Shawn had decided to move in with Carly, because of Franco. Sam reminded Michael that Shawn would just be protecting Carly and Josslyn. Michael complained that Shawn had warned Michael to stay away from the stalker targeting the dancers from Vaughn's, because it might put Michael in Franco's path. Sam doubted that Shawn had meant any harm by the comment, but Michael argued that Shawn didn't know what it felt like to be a victim of a man who would use, and torture, someone just to get to Jason. Michael grew concerned when Sam suddenly turned away, so he quietly asked her what was wrong.

In the alley behind Jake's, Coleman showed Jason a new graffiti tag that had appeared within the previous hour. The tag read, "NO2CCAH5O." Jason studied the updated tag as he recalled a conversation that he'd once had with Franco. Franco had vowed to leave Jason with nothing but the purity of Jason's talent, and rage. Franco had promised that Jason's hatred for Franco would burn everything else away, so that Franco could hold up a mirror to show Jason who Jason really was, and to let everyone that Jason cared about "burn in hell."

12/7 Jason studied Franco's latest message as he recalled a conversation with Franco, when Jason had denied being anything like Franco. Franco had told Jason that Jason should have died in the car crash, because Jason had squandered the gift that Jason had been given. Franco had conceded that Jason was nothing like him. "No one is," Franco concluded.

Jason roared with anger as he returned to the present, and then demanded to know if Franco were trying to punish him, by hoping that Jason would stop loving Sam, because of what Franco had done. Jason vowed that it would not happen. Moments later, Spinelli entered the alley. Spinelli was concerned about Jason, but Jason wanted to know if Spinelli knew the meaning of Franco's new message, "NO2CCAH5O." Spinelli looked at the graffiti tag, and then suggested that perhaps it was some type of chess match. Jason explained that Franco couldn't feel, so Jason suspected that Franco believed that if Jason lost everyone Jason loved, then Jason wouldn't feel anything either. Spinelli pointed out that there hadn't been any casualties in Franco's latest round with Jason.

Frustrated, Jason shouted, "Spinelli," and then quietly added, "Franco did enough." Spinelli wondered if perhaps the new tag was somehow tied to the gifts that Franco had sent to Josslyn. Jason's patience snapped as he insisted that he needed to know the meaning of the circle at the end of the tag. Spinelli didn't know, so Jason ordered Spinelli to leave. Afterwards, memories of what had transpired with Franco at the Museum of Contemporary Art flashed through Jason's. Jason demanded to know what Franco wanted, and then dared the serial killer to face him.

At Jake's, Michael sensed that something was wrong with Sam, but Sam tried to blame her unease on trying to find the man who had been attacking the dancers from Vaughn's. Michael suspected that there was more to it, so he wondered if Sam had ever been victimized. "Yes," Sam admitted. Sam explained that before she had met Jason, she had attracted the wrong type of guys. Michael was surprised, because he had always thought of Sam as being a responsible person, who had always been in control. However, he assured her that she wasn't to blame for what her ex-boyfriends had done. Sam assured Michael that she realized that, but she regretted that she hadn't been more aware. Michael wondered if something had recently happened to Sam. He promised her that she could trust him not to say anything.

Sam brushed it off as the past creeping up on her. Michael admitted that he knew what that was like; Franco's return was a reminder of what had happened to Michael in jail. Sam was curious if he had been able to put the rape behind him. Michael explained that he was working on it, with Abby's help. Sam could tell that Michael loved Abby deeply, but Michael insisted that it was an understatement, because Abby was everything to him.

Michael admitted that he missed Abby, even though she had only been gone for a couple of hours. Sam thought that it was good that Abby was not in town, while the man attacking the dancers from Vaughn's on the loose. Michael agreed, because all of the victims had been Abby's friends. Sam assured Michael that he had done his best to protect Abby, but she warned him not to play the hero. Michael confessed that Abby had said something along the same lines, but Michael wondered if Jason would be able to stand by, and do nothing, if someone had hurt Sam.

Sam admitted that it wasn't in Jason's nature. Michael insisted that the same was true for him, which was why he was determined to find the man responsible for targeting the dancers. Sam warned Michael that sometimes it didn't matter, because the people that they loved ended up hurt anyway. Moments later, Coleman warned Sam that Jason was in the alley, where Franco had left a new tag. Sam and Michael raced out to the alley.

In the alley, Jason tried to figure out Franco's new message by going over the various conversations that he'd had with Franco, since first meeting the serial killer. "The circle has no beginning; it has no end," Jason mumbled. Jason suddenly realized something, so he started to leave, but Sam and Michael called out to him. Jason explained that Franco had taken things full-circle, so Jason was certain that Franco was waiting for Jason at the first place that Jason and Franco had met. According to Jason, it had been during a shoot-out. Jason started to leave again, but Sam insisted on going with her husband.

Everyone froze when Pres entered the alley, and then noticed Franco's tag on the side of the building. Pres realized that Franco had returned, so he decided that the people of Port Charles had a right to know. Pres wanted it to be the lead story in the newspaper, but Jason feared that it might mess things up. Pres ignored Jason's warning, so Jason threw Pres against a dumpster, and then threatened the ex-mayor. Pres took off, while Sam and Michael stared at Jason with matching expressions of disbelief over Jason's loss of control.

Moments later, Pres walked up to Dante, and then demanded that Dante take action against Jason, who had assaulted Pres. Pres insisted on pressing charges, so Dante went to the alley to place Jason under arrest. Jason explained that Franco was back, so it was up to Jason to stop Franco. Dante was unmoved. Jason's anger mounted, so Dante drew his gun, and then ordered Jason to turn around, so that Dante could handcuff Jason. Jason hesitated, but then complied. Sam and Michael were stunned as Dante led Jason away. Jason instructed Michael to take Sam home, but Sam refused to go.

12/8 Michael followed Sam to the sidewalk where Jason had first seen Franco. Michael thought that it was a bad idea for Sam to be there, but Sam remained determined to find Franco. Michael insisted on helping her, since he had promised Jason to keep Sam safe. Sam insisted on handling things for herself, but Michael refused to let her, because he was certain that Jason wouldn't want Sam chasing after Franco.

Sam argued that she could take care of herself, and deal with Franco, but Michael believed that he, more than anyone, had a score to settle with Franco. Sam warned Michael that he might end up back in jail. Michael insisted that it would be worth it to go to jail, if it kept Franco from hurting anyone else. Michael explained that Sam couldn't understand what it was like not to have any control or power to stop Franco. Sam looked down, and then quietly apologized.

Michael reminded Sam that it was his burden to live with, not Sam's. Sam realized that Franco had put Michael through hell, but she explained that no one wanted to see Michael get hurt again, especially Jason. Michael pointed out that Jason was powerless to deal with Franco, while Jason was locked up. Sam relented, by accepting Michael's help, so Michael wondered what she knew about the night that Jason had first seen Franco. Sam revealed that Jason and Sonny had been scheduled to have a meeting at the brownstone, but they had been ambushed on the steps.

Sam explained that Sonny, Jason, and their men, had retreated to the car during the shootout, and that Jason had seen Franco waving to him as they sped away. Sam and Michael figured out where Franco had been standing, so they began to search the area for a sign that Franco had been there. Michael spotted a white circle on top of a trashcan, so he started to reach for the lid. Sam stopped Michael, fearing that it was rigged. Sam decided to lift the lid herself, but Michael reminded her that she could be hurt just as easily has he could.

Sam assured Michael that she was fine, but Michael refused to let her touch the lid. Sam realized that Franco wouldn't have booby-trapped the trashcan, because Franco wouldn't have wanted to hurt Jason, and end the game. Michael thought that they should call the police, but Sam argued that the police were incompetent. Sam lifted the lid, and then saw a small wrapped package sitting on top of the garbage. Sam quickly opened the package to see that it was a DVD. Michael suggested that they take it to the police station, so that they could sneak it into Jason's jail cell. Michael explained that Sonny had someone on the inside, who could arrange for Jason to view the DVD. Sam didn't want Jason to know about the DVD. She recalled showering, and then passing out in Franco's arms as Michael wondered if Sam knew what was on the DVD.

12/9 Garrett approached Alexis at the police station. He announced that he was going by his middle name, Prescott (Press for short). Alexis asked him to keep it professional. She threatened to sue him, as he was the editor of the Port Charles Press, for liable. She said she could prove that Garrett had deliberately provoked Jason into a physical confrontation.

Sam visited Jason in the interrogation room. He blamed himself for having gone after the former mayor. Sam admitted she'd gone with Michael to search for clues. She left and encountered Michael, who asked her if she'd told Jason about the DVD. Sam begged Michael not to say anything to Jason about the disk.

Michael went in to speak with Jason, who chastised Michael for helping Sam do something so dangerous. Jason demanded to know what Michael had seen, but Michael maintained that he'd told Jason everything. Garrett walked in and asked for a comment for the newspaper. He threatened to launch an investigation and suggested Michael was hiding something. Jason's blood boiled over, and he attacked Garrett again.

Alexis walked into the room as an officer handcuffed Jason to the table. She berated Jason for letting Garrett get the best of him again and warned Jason to stay away from Franco.

Sam returned home and examined the tiny toy baby Franco had included with the DVD. She placed the DVD into the drive and pressed the play button. After viewing the video, Sam broke down in tears.

12/12 Jason and Michael conversed in the interrogation room. Michael said that he knew what was going on and had talked to Sam. Jason tensed but was relieved to know that Michael thought that Franco was taunting Jason about Michael's rape in prison, not the violation of Sam on her honeymoon with Jason. When Michael said it was not Jason's fault, Jason got very angry and said that it was his fault. Michael said that he did not blame Jason, and he had been able to deal with the violation, especially with Abby's help. Michael told Jason that he had to calm down and get control because his anger was exactly what Franco wanted. Michael also said that he was giving Jason the same advice that Jason had given Michael in similar circumstances. Jason calmed down.

Jason told Michael to go to Sam and tell her to stay in the apartment where she would be safe. Michael said he would. As Michael left, Alexis arrived to talk to Jason. Alexis told Jason that he would have to spend at least six months in jail. Jason went ballistic and said that he had to get out so that he could protect Sam from Franco. Alexis said she could not help if she did not know what Franco had done. Jason admitted that Franco had ruined their honeymoon. Alexis demanded details. Jason finally told her that Franco had planted cameras in every room and had watched and recorded everything that Jason and Sam had done or said. Alexis was appalled and said that she would do everything in her power to secure Jason's release.

At the penthouse, Sam viewed the DVD sent by Franco and wept. After it was over, she screamed, "Screw you, you sick bastard!" Sam grabbed her gun and started out the door, but Michael arrived just in time to stop her. Sam was highly agitated and said that she had to leave. Michael said that was exactly what Jason did not want. Michael guessed that Sam had seen the DVD. Michael demanded to know what was on it, but Sam said it was the same old thing. Michael said that there was more to it, or Sam would not be armed and leaving. Michael said that it was important to be calm and patient and wait. Michael said that he had talked to Jason, and he knew that the DVD was probably about the rape. Sam was shocked, but quickly realized that Michael was talking about his rape and thought that Sam and Jason were upset for him. Sam let Michael think that.

Sam wiped her eyes as Michael said it was probably better if Jason did not see the DVD. He told her about Jason going off on Floyd. Michael said that he thought that Jason wanted Sam to stay away from the PCPD because Jason did not want Sam to see him get angry. Michael noted that Jason's anger was just like Michael's had been after Michael had awakened from the coma. Sam was thoughtful.

Abby called Michael. They told each other how much they missed one another. Abby said that she was on her way to a meeting, but had stopped in a mall to do some Christmas shopping. She teased Michael about his present. Abby asked Michael to visit her for the weekend. Michael heard a loud noise in the background and Abby's phone went dead. Michael continued to shout Abby's name into the phone.

12/13 At the penthouse, Michael became concerned when Abby's call suddenly dropped. Michael explained that he had heard a loud crash just before the call had cut off, so he tried to call Abby back, but the call went to voicemail. Sam cautioned Michael not to jump to the worst conclusion, because there might be an innocent reason for the dropped call. Sam calmly proposed getting Abby's schedule, so that they could call Abby's next appointment.

Robin entered the interrogation room, apologizing for bothering Jason when he had more pressing concerns than her problems to deal with. Jason advised Robin to relax, and then asked her what she needed. "Can you help me disappear?" Robin asked. Jason covered up his surprise by wondering how long Robin wanted to disappear. "For forever. Well, I mean for however long this lasts," Robin replied.

Jason was confused when Robin explained that she was doing it for her family, and those who had believed in her. Jason wanted to know what was going on, but Robin evaded the question by talking in circles, and then admitting that she had thought that things would be better if Lisa were dead. Robin continued to ramble about Lisa's coma, Anthony's role in Lisa's recovery, and Lisa's deadly plot. Jason's thoughts began to drift when Robin mentioned Patrick's determination to protect Robin from harm. Jason recalled Sam suggesting that his anger might be a side effect of his surgery. Robin eventually noticed that Jason had been staring off into space, so she called out his name.
