Jason & Sam #22 September 9 - November 20, 2009 - 8 hour original edit DVD #22A At the hospital, Jason stood in the hallway watching Liz and Lucky through the room's window. Sam stood next to Jason. She offered to get Jason anything that he needed, but Jason declined. As Sam started to walk away, Jason reached for her hand. Sam was startled by the action and looked up at Jason. Jason continued to stare into his son's hospital room. 9/10 Jason vowed to Sam that whoever hurt Jake would not get away with it. Sam told Jason that the tests were inconclusive about Jake, so maybe he did not have a skull fracture. She explained that the test would have said skull fracture if that was what he had. Sam told Jason that maybe Jake had a concussion. Jason watched as Lucky and Elizabeth sat with Jake and waited on news from the doctors. Lulu approached and wanted an update on Jake. Jason told her that the doctors had told them to just wait. Lulu told Jason that it was awful that Edward was driving the car. Jason was surprised to find out that his grandfather had caused the accident. Lulu said that she'd heard that Edward had suffered a heart attack and was in emergency surgery. Sam said that was awful and asked Jason if Edward knew that Jake was Jason's son. He said no. Sam said that it was good, because she thought that Edward would be very upset to know that he hurt his great-grandson. Jason watched through the window of Jake's room and observed the Liz, Lucky and Jake together as a family. Sam went to Jason and put her hand on his to comfort him. Lucky emerged from the room and told Sam, Jason, and Lulu that Jake just had a concussion and some bumps and bruises. Lucky said that Jake would be kept overnight for observation. Sam said that was a good idea. Lucky told Jason that he thought Jason should know. Jason thanked Lucky and so did Sam. Lulu said she would go tell everyone that Jake was okay. Sam thanked her, and Jason let out a huge sigh of relief. Jason and Sam sat in the waiting room. Jason said that he did not know if he should stay in the hospital, since he wasn't hurt, he wasn't helping anyone, and Jake was okay. Sam said that Edward was not okay. Jason said he needed to know why the accident had happened. He wanted to kill the driver before he knew it was Edward. He needed to know if it was a heart attack or if Edward was drunk. Jason expressed his sadness that Edward did not even know that one of the people he injured was his great-grandson. Then he said that it would not help Edward to know that. Jason said that he felt sorry for Edward, that the accident might be Edward's fault if he had been drinking, but that Edward had lost too much already. Sam recounted for Jason about the time that she worked for Edward. She told Jason that Edward only kept her around to be closer to Jason. Sam told him that his grandfather really missed him. Jason said that he didn't know how to feel about Edward, and that it had been really easy to hate him in the beginning. Jason said that Edward had not needed him because he had Alan, Justus, and A.J. to control, and his grandmother and Emily to love. However, all of them were gone. Sam said that Edward needed Jason and that Jason needed Edward, too. Jason expressed the difficulty of the situation that Edward and Jake were both injured, and that both didn't know that they were connected to each other through Jason. Sam told Jason that he knew about the connection and that was enough. She also said that Jason stayed in the hospital for Edward and for his son. She told him that it mattered that he was there. Jason thanked her. Jason walked up to Epiphany and asked her about Edward. She said she was sorry about not contacting Jason, but he said that it was okay that they could not get in touch with him. He was just happy that Edward went into surgery. Sonny told Jason that Edward drove the car that caused the accident and asked how that happened. Jason said that he heard that Edward had a heart attack. Sonny and Jason discussed what had happened with Jake. Sonny told Jason he was sorry to hear about Jake's injuries. Jason asked Sonny about Kristina. Sonny told him about how she had been stuck, but she was okay. He also told Jason how Dominic saved Morgan. Jason asked how Dominic was, and Sonny said that he had internal injuries. Sonny said that he was going to have to contact Dominic's family, and that was the last thing that any parent would want to hear. Jason went to Edward's room and found Rebecca waiting by Edward's side. Rebecca talked to Jason near the door and told him that she was sorry about authorizing the surgery. He said that it was fine that she helped Edward. She asked him if the police had questioned him about Edward drinking and driving. Jason said no, but that the Quartermaine family had experienced issues with alcohol in the past. Rebecca said she did not believe that even if Edward was drinking that he was drunk when he had the heart attack. Jason walked around the corner and was shocked to see Nik and Liz kissing. 9/11 Jason went to Sam's apartment. He admitted that he'd been on his way home, but then had decided to stop by to talk to her. Sam invited Jason into her apartment. As soon as he sat down on the sofa, Jason told Sam that he had gone to check on Jake. As he approached the room, Jason had seen Elizabeth and Nikolas kissing. Sam seemed surprised; she suggested that perhaps it had been an innocent kiss after learning that Jake was going to be okay. Jason clarified that it had been much more than that. Sam felt bad for Lucky; she also realized that it couldn't be easy for Jason. Jason admitted that Elizabeth had a right to be with whom she chose. However, Jason was concerned about the impact on Jake. Jason reminded Sam of Sonny's many custody battles; he never wanted that for Jake. Sam suggested that Lucky loved the boys enough not to put them through that kind of emotional turmoil. Sam was confident that Elizabeth and Lucky could keep the boys isolated from their problems. Jason realized that he didn't have any rights as Jake's father, so he had no say in Jake's life. To illustrate his point, he reminded Sam that he had not been at the carnival for Jake, but rather because Sam had agreed to attend the festival. As they talked about the carnival and their relationship, Jason confided that he had talked to Carly about Sam. Sam confessed that she enjoyed the time that they had spent together. She remembered how far off-track they had gotten, and didn't want to dwell on that. Jason agreed. Moments later, Sam's cell phone rang. Michael had a vivid memory from the time of Michael's coma. Michael recalled Jax apologizing for not revealing the truth about Michael’s shooting to Carly. In the memory, Jax admitted that he'd had an opportunity to tell Carly everything, but he had opted not to. Jax concluded his confession by admitting that he couldn't risk Carly learning the truth. Michael called Sam. Michael begged Sam for help, and made her promise not to tell Jason. 9/14 Sam and Jason were at her apartment drawing closer emotionally when Michael called her. He asked her to visit him without telling Jason. Sam agreed and pretended that Michael was a client demanding strict confidentiality. She and Jason left the apartment together. Ronnie, Dante's superior officer, was talking with Dante about how Dante's heroism had endeared him to Sonny and put him in a position to bring down the mob, but Jason walked in. Dante quickly reverted to his Dominic persona and introduced Ronnie as a friend who had worked for the Zacchara organization. When Ronnie left them alone, Jason told Dominic how grateful he was that Dominic had risked his life to save Morgan's. Jason offered his hand and said that Dominic could call on Jason for anything. Michael told Sam that he was having flashbacks from his coma. Sam told him that he could trust Jason. Michael agreed that he could, but because his memories included family and extended family, he wanted a more confidential sounding board. Sam agreed to keep quiet about what Michael said to her. He told her that he had memories of Claudia saying over and over that she was sorry. Then he told her that the memory that was disturbing him was of Jax saying that he was responsible for the accident, and that Carly could never know. Jason caught up to Spinelli and got the whole story of what had happened when Spinelli had attempted to deliver papers to Johnny at the warehouse. He told how Johnny had saved his life and taken several bullets in the process. Spinelli also told Jason that he and Johnny had heard the four thugs say that they were acting on Anthony's orders. Spinelli also told Jason that Johnny had asked him to protect Olivia from Claudia, but had been taken to surgery before he could elucidate further. Jason told Spinelli that he was never to take another assignment. When Spinelli tried to protest, Jason said that Spinelli was his friend, and he thought of him like a brother. Spinelli was touched and agreed to stay out of harm's way in the future. Jason and Spinelli were still at Mercy when Johnny returned from surgery, which had gone well. They were happy that Johnny was expected to make a full recovery. 9/15 In his hospital room, Johnny didn't want to talk about Claudia, and Jason agreed to allow the subject to drop temporarily. Jason and Spinelli wanted to find out who was behind the shooting, and Jason asked about the decision that prompted Johnny to watch the warehouse. Johnny said that he had offered to work for Dominic as a favor to Lulu. It was a last-minute decision, so there was no way Dominic could have set him up. Spinelli told Johnny that the chain of events that had taken place caused Morgan Corinthos' life to be saved. Dominic had saved Morgan's life after Edward Quartermaine had suffered a heart attack and run his car into the fair, injuring him. Sonny and Jason discussed the attack. Jason felt Dominic was loyal, and it made sense that Anthony had gone after a former employee who had betrayed the Zacchara organization. Sonny decided it was time to kill Anthony, and he intended to use Dominic to get the job done. Sam, in Jason's apartment, waited for him to return. Jason filled her in on what had happened with Johnny and Spinelli. Jason changed the subject and asked about Sam's most recent case. Sam said it was a challenging case. Jason made her promise to call him if things got too dangerous. Sam told him that he would be the first person she would call. Jason asked Sam if Spinelli and Maxie were gone, and they both realized that the quiet confirmed their suspicions. Sam and Jason were alone. Sam started to leave, but Jason grabbed her and started to kiss her. 9/16 The next morning, Jason carried in two cups of coffee while Sam lounged in his bed. She was worried that she might have overstayed her welcome, but Jason quickly clarified that he was glad that she was there. Sam smiled as Jason leaned down to kiss her. Molly, Kristina, Robin, and Patrick arrived at the penthouse a short time later. As everyone discussed Spinelli and Maxie's wedding plans, Jason and Sam made an unusual entrance. A shirtless Jason appeared at the top of the stairs passionately kissing Sam while she had her legs wrapped around his waist. Everyone watched with varying degrees of shock as the two repeatedly bumped into the wall and moaned in pleasure as they made their way down the stairs. Sam scrambled out of Jason's arms when she realized that they had an audience. She tried to hide her mortification as Molly commented about Jason and Sam making love. Sam tried to imply that she had recently arrived at the penthouse, but Molly observed that Sam had been wearing the same outfit the previous day. Kristina decided that it was time to leave, but Molly insisted on speaking privately to Jason. After everyone had left, Molly warned Jason not to hurt Sam. Molly advised Jason to respect Sam by not repeating his past mistakes. She didn't want Jason to bail on Sam at the first sign of trouble. Jason reminded Molly that Sam's love life wasn't any of Molly's business. Molly disagreed; she likened herself, Kristina, and Sam to the Bronte sisters, except that they weren't writers. It was clear that Molly had a romantic view of relationships, especially Jason and Sam's. When she asked Jason if he loved Sam, Jason explained that he cared for Sam and respected her. Molly believed that Sam deserved to have a happy ending. Jason promised to be careful of Sam's feelings, but he refused to discuss it beyond that. Molly seemed satisfied with Jason's answer. Jason and Molly didn't realize that Sam was eavesdropping on their conversation. As soon as Molly stepped away from Jason, Sam grabbed her sister and then dragged her off. On the pier, Sam scolded Molly for overstepping her bounds. Sam appreciated Molly's concern, but said Molly's talk with Jason had been inappropriate. Molly pointed out that it hadn't been any less inappropriate than Sam listening in on a private conversation. Sam acknowledged that her sister was right; however, Sam's relationship with Jason was off limits to Molly. Sam explained that it was complicated with Jason and that they had to figure things out for themselves. When Spinelli returned to the penthouse, Jason was waiting. Jason demanded to be notified the next time that Spinelli decided to invite people over. Jason had not appreciated being surprised like that. Spinelli promised to honor Jason's request and then changed the subject. Spinelli was worried that the wedding plans had taken on a life of their own. He wanted Jason to reassure him that everything would work out. He also wanted Jason to help him focus on the nuptials rather than the plans. A short time later, Sam arrived at the Jack’s residence. Michael explained that he had called her because he needed her help to find out if Jax was somehow responsible for the shooting that had led to Michael's coma. Sam immediately dismissed the suggestion; she didn't think that Jax was capable of such a heinous crime. Michael was determined to learn the truth for his mother's sake. 9/17 Spinelli told Jason that he knew that Jason had an aversion to marriage, but had never considered that it could apply to Maxie and Spinelli's relationship. Jason told him that if he wanted to marry Maxie then Jason wished him all the best. Spinelli questioned if Jason really meant that. Spinelli told Jason that because of all the problems of the previous few days, he realized that Jason had not really lived up to his best man duties. Jason asked if Spinelli had even asked him to do anything. Spinelli asked Jason if he had given any thought to who would lead the chicken dance. Jason said he would not answer that question. Spinelli then began to talk about how grateful he was to Johnny. He said a lot of things about Johnny and Jason cut him off. Jason told him that if he wanted Johnny to be his best man, that was okay. Spinelli had a pained look on his face. Spinelli said that Jason was a better friend to him than Johnny. Jason reiterated that Johnny was a fine choice and said that he did not mind. Spinelli said that since Jason was being so noble, he was sure that he made the right choice to make Jason his best man. Spinelli told Jason that in the origin of the tradition, the best man would be called upon to take the place of the groom if necessary. He said that if he had died in the warehouse, the night before, that Jason would have had to marry his bride. Jason did not find that amusing. Jason arrived to visit Johnny. Jason told Johnny that he understood how Johnny was feeling, since he had been shot before. Jason asked if Johnny was able to give him any information about the shooting. Johnny said that he was not involved and Jason assured him that he believed him. Jason, however, stated that Johnny might have some insight into how Anthony thought. Johnny told Jason that Anthony would probably not attack again so soon. Jason asked him about Claudia. Johnny said that he would not turn on Claudia and that Jason had known for a while how dangerous she was. Johnny said that it should also be on Jason if she did anything at that point. Michael told Sam that Jax had confessed to him while Michael was in a coma and that Jax said he was sorry. Sam said that a lot of people were sorry about what happened to him. Michael responded that Jax stated that Michael's mother would never forgive Jax, so maybe Jax had tried to kill Michael's father. Michael then asked, what if Jax tried to kill Sonny again. Jax walked into the room. Jax told Sam that he did not know that she would be there. Sam said she did not know she would be there, either, and Carly then arrived from the upstairs. Michael got an attitude when Carly said she did not realize that they had company. He asked why it was a big deal that Sam was there to see him. Sam quickly stated that she was there to make sure that everyone was okay after the shooting. Jax and Carly had not heard about the shooting at the warehouse and questioned Sam about it. She apologized for mentioning it and said that it was not a concern. Jax said he wanted to know if Sonny was endangering his family. Michael asked why Jax always assumed the worst. Carly said she agreed with Jax and wanted to know. Jax told Sam that she had already started and they wanted to know everything. Sam explained how the warehouse was attacked and Johnny was shot. Carly said that Michael should go upstairs and not listen to their conversation. Michael said that even though he had been shot, he was fine hearing about what happened. Jax got very angry that Sonny did not tell them what happened. Carly said that if there was real danger, then Jason would have called her. Sam apologized for say anything and Jax told her that she should not apologize because if his family was in danger then he wanted to know about it. Sam said she would be in touch, and left. Michael met with Sam on the docks. He said that he could believe that Jax would put a hit out on Sonny and justify it as protecting Carly and the boys. Sam was not convinced; she said that Jax was a corporate raider not a murderer. Michael said that Jax was not, but that Jax's brother was. He asked Sam why Jax would think that Carly would not forgive him, unless Jax was some how involved. Sam said she would try to find out what happened, but that Jason had been trying to undercover the truth for a very long time. Michael said he needed to know because it was becoming hard for him to be around Jax. Sam told him not to say anything to Jax or anyone else. She said that she would do everything she could to find out the truth. Sam called Jason, who was still with Johnny at Mercy Hospital. She told him that she was on her way and that she needed to talk to him about Michael. Later, Sam arrived at the hospital and told Jason everything. As they talked Claudia walked into the waiting area. She hid before they saw her and listened to their conversation. She heard Sam say that Michael was remembering what people said to him in the coma. 9/18 At Mercy Hospital, Claudia eavesdropped as Sam told Jason that Michael had recovered some memories. Jason wanted to know if Michael had recalled anything about Claudia, specifically her involvement in the shooting. Sam shared what she knew, which admittedly wasn't much. Jason and Sam decided to question Jax. Michael didn't understand why Jax couldn't trust him with the truth; he promised not to say anything to Carly. Jax pointed out that Michael had a short fuse and lacked impulse control. Jax feared that Michael might accidentally reveal the truth to Carly in the heat of an argument. When Jax asked Michael to wait just a little bit longer, Carly walked in. Carly demanded to know what they were waiting for. Jax and Michael tried to cover for the slip. Jason and Sam's arrival didn't help. Carly realized that everyone was hiding something the moment that she saw Jason and Sam enter Jax's office. Jax insisted that he and Jason had arranged to meet in order to discuss the shootout at the warehouse. Carly resented that Sam had been included, but that she had not. Jason pointed out that Sam wasn't pregnant. Jason pleaded with Carly to trust him; he promised to tell her if there was something that she needed to know. Carly appreciated Jason's concern, so she let the matter drop. After she left, Jax asked Sam about Jerry's fate. Sam confirmed that Jerry had been alive the last time that she had seen him. Jason reminded Jax that they needed to focus on Michael. Jason feared that the more that Michael remembered, the more dangerous Michael's situation became. Jason and Sam waited in Jax's office while Jax tried to get a list of visitors during Michael's stay at the long-term care facility. Jason realized that his comment about Sam not being pregnant had been insensitive. He hadn't meant to hurt Sam. Sam appreciated Jason's consideration. She confessed that she didn't want to hurt him, either. She started to wonder what might have been, but then stopped herself. Sam revealed that she was content with where their relationship was. Jason appeared to feel the same; he leaned down and then kissed Sam. 9/21 Jason went to GH to consult with Robin about Michael's returning memories. Jason wanted to know whether or not those memories could be trusted. Robin said there was not a simple answer. When asked for specifics, Jason told Robin that Michael was beginning to remember people who confessed to him that they had been involved with Ian Devlin, the man who shot him. Robin wanted to know what Jason would do if Michael's memories were real. When Jason did not answer, Robin said never mind, she knew what he would do. She told him that she remembered the gentle Jason from the time that Michael was a baby. Robin said she hoped that Jason would consider what effect his actions would have on Michael should Jason make that person that Michael remembered hearing disappear. Robin pointed out that Michael could easily feel responsible and carry a lifetime of guilt because he trusted Jason with what he remembered. Sonny and Jason had a meeting. Sonny told Jason all about his visit to Anthony and his threat to eliminate Johnny. Jason wanted to know if Sonny's plan for Johnny was about Anthony or because he wanted a clear path to Olivia. Sonny defended his actions and was convinced that Anthony was boxed in. Jason was not so sure. Sonny told Jason that he had tapped someone else to make the hit on Johnny. Jason defended Johnny's loyalty, but Sonny shut him up. Claudia walked in and heard Sonny tell Jason that if Anthony hurt anyone under his protection, his friend Johnny would be no more. 9/22 At Sonny's house, Claudia overheard Sonny and Jason planning retaliation against Anthony by using Johnny as bait. Sonny warned Claudia to leave, because she wouldn't want to hear the conversation he was having with Jason. Claudia wasn't new to the game, though, and she knew Anthony had to be dealt with. Claudia also knew that she couldn't use herself as bait, because Johnny was the favored child. As much as she loved her brother, Claudia knew what she was getting into when she married into and continued her family's mob life. Jason arrived home and found Michael talking with Sam. Michael was upset that Sam had betrayed him by revealing his memories to Jason. Sam tried to comfort Michael and she told him that Jason was the best person to understand what Michael was going through. Sam thought Michael should at least give Jason a chance. As they talked, Michael had another flashback. Sam asked what had happened in the flashback, and Michael said he just remembered Claudia apologizing over and over again. Michael knew Sam was suspicious of his step-mother, but Sam assured him that she wanted real proof before anything was done. 9/23 After a motorcycle ride, Sam and Jason returned to the penthouse. They were talking about their brief adventure when Spinelli entered the living room. Spinelli was frantic because he had not been able to reach Jason. Spinelli had averted a legal disaster, but there were wedding details that required Jason's immediate attention. As if to illustrate Spinelli's point, the tailor arrived with tuxedos for Spinelli and Jason to try on. Sam decided to leave, but Spinelli begged her to stay. Spinelli feared that Jason might not cooperate during the fitting. Spinelli hoped that Sam's influence would have a calming effect on Jason. Minutes later, his theory was tested when Spinelli asked Jason to try on a pink tie. As Spinelli had anticipated, Jason balked. Sam dragged Jason out to the hallway, in order to reason with him. She reminded Jason that Spinelli had been living in a pink bedroom for years. During that time, Jason could have painted the room another color, but he chose not to. Meanwhile, Spinelli had never complained. Sam suggested that the least that Jason could do for Spinelli, on the most important day of Spinelli's life, was wear a pink tie. When Jason and Sam returned to the penthouse, Jason held out his hand as he asked for the tie. Spinelli was overjoyed. Later, Spinelli took the opportunity to thank Jason for saving his life time and again, as well as making him feel valued. Jason was embarrassed by the praise; he reminded Spinelli that he had merely agreed to wear a pink tie. Spinelli beamed happiness as he confessed that he couldn't imagine anything spoiling his wedding. Michael turned up at Jason's penthouse. Michael explained that he had skipped school on his first day because he'd recalled something from his coma. As Michael revealed the details of his memories, Sam appeared confused. She confessed that she had never visited Michael while he'd been in the hospital or at the long-term care facility. Michael was shaken by the revelation. 9/24 Michael told Jason that since the memory Michael had of Sam was bogus, then all his memories could be wrong. Jason told Michael to calm down and Michael said that Jason should admit that Michael was crazy. Jason assured Michael that things would be all right. Sam suggested that Carly would be able to come up with an excuse for Michael leaving school on his first day. She told Michael not to be so hard on himself. Michael said that Carly could not be involved because of her high-risk pregnancy. Michael told Sam and Jason that he could not trust anything that he remembered. Sam informed Michael that it was not his responsibility to figure everything out. Jason told Michael that he should take it easy and let things work themselves out. Michael stared at himself in the mirror and remembered what the carnival psychic had told him. Michael had a flashback to when the psychic said that some of the villains were by the bed and some were in the mirror. Sam approached Michael and asked why he was staring at himself in the mirror. Michael said he thought about the psychic. Sam said that the woman was probably a fake, but Michael insisted that she was not. Jason asked Michael why he thought the psychic was real. Michael said because he was crazy and then ran out of Jason's house. Sam arrived at Maxie and Spinelli’s wedding with Molly and Kristina. Mac became upset when Jason arrived. Robin and Patrick again tried to convince Mac that it was Maxie's decision not his. Mac said he agreed, and then asked where the priest was. Just then, a Buddhist monk walked in. Mac got fed up and told Spinelli that he was under arrest. The monk explained that he needed to find the garden room. Spinelli and Maxie told him where it was and alluded to the fact that they had sex in that room the previous night. Mac asked Jason to do something to stop the wedding. Jason said that he was sure that the priest was on his way. Maxie wishfully stated that maybe they would have to postpone since the priest had not arrived. Mac took the opportunity tell everyone to leave. He said that they could not have a rehearsal or wedding, since the priest had not arrived. Mac tried to get everyone to leave, but the priest ran in and said that he had been in the wrong part of the building. The priest said that he had run into the monk, who stated that some chanting was needed in the room with Mac. Mac said he did not want any chanting. The priest said that the monk had offered to chant on Mac's behalf. The priest continued that the monk also reminded him that love was the most powerful thing in the universe and that it could bring everyone together, no matter how far apart they seemed. Sam saw that Kristina was upset about something and asked her what was wrong. Kristina said that Michael had left school and she was not sure if she could help him. Molly ran up and told her two sisters that the rehearsal was about to begin. The priest ran through what would take place the next day. Spinelli and Maxie practiced their kiss. Mac yelled at them to stop as they continued to kiss. After the priest was done, Maxie grabbed Jason and said that she needed to talk to him. Later, Maxie met Jason alone and told him that she did not want to marry Spinelli. Jason told her that she needed to tell Spinelli the truth and that Spinelli would understand. Maxie responded that she only told Jason so that if she freaked out at the altar, Jason could grab her and remind her that she loved Spinelli. She said that she could not imagine her life without Spinelli, and that she wanted to be with him, but she did not want to get married right then. Maxie told Jason that she would just lie and that he had to grab her if she looked like she was going to run away from the altar. Maxie made Jason promise that he would not let her hurt Spinelli. She said that she did not want to break Spinelli's heart. Spinelli stood outside the door and listened as Maxie talked to Jason. 9/25 Maxie's wedding day started off with a nightmare as Maxie dreamed of her future with Spinelli. In the dream, a serious, self-assured Spinelli checked his weapons while he and Jason prepared to embark on mob-related business. A pregnant Maxie entered the living room, carrying a daughter in one arm while her son ran around playing with a toy machine gun. Maxie was dressed in unflattering maternity clothes while her limp hair was pulled with an ugly barrette. Lulu arrived moments later, looking fabulous. Lulu was the editor-in-chief of a fashion magazine and about to jet off to Paris. Lulu had stopped by to see her godchildren, one of whom was crying inconsolably. Minutes later, Robin and Patrick arrived with Mac in tow. Apparently, Mac had lost his mind when Maxie had married Spinelli. As Mac babbled incoherently, Spinelli announced that he'd had an epiphany. According to Spinelli, he was in love with Lulu. Maxie woke up from her horrible dream to find Robin and Lulu smiling down at her. Robin and Lulu ordered Maxie to rise and shine; it was her wedding day. At the penthouse, Jason entered the living room to find Spinelli diligently working on his wedding vows. It was clear that Spinelli was frazzled. Spinelli explained that he had accidentally deleted the vows that he had written. The new vows were proving to be quite difficult to compose. Jason suspected that something else was bothering Spinelli. Spinelli confessed that he was uncertain about marrying Maxie. He feared that the deleted vows and his grandmother's decision not to attend the wedding were bad omens. Spinelli wondered if he should call off the wedding. Jason couldn't answer that question, but he did advise Spinelli to focus on what was in his heart. Jason then offered Spinelli words of encouragement. According to Jason, Maxie was the lucky one, because there wasn't anyone better than Spinelli. Spinelli appeared to appreciate Jason's praise. At the Davis residence, Sam primped while she waited for her sisters to get ready. Molly ran into the living room with Kristina hot on her heels. Kristina was furious because Molly had taken a necklace that Kiefer had given to Kristina. Molly argued that Kristina hadn't planned on wearing the necklace, so she didn't understand why Kristina was angry. Sam asked Kristina to be the bigger person by lending the necklace to her sister. After Kristina stomped out of the room, Sam scolded Molly for taking the necklace without asking Kristina's permission. As Molly sat down on the sofa, Sam decided to question her youngest sister about Kiefer. Sam was curious what Molly thought of Kristina's boyfriend. Molly admitted that she thought Kiefer was awesome. According to Molly, Kiefer had the potential to be a real romantic hero, but she doubted that Kristina's love for him would last forever. Molly then prattled on about various romantic couples, including Spinelli and Maxie, whom she likened to Cyrano de Bergerac and Roxanne. Sam had no idea what Molly was talking about, so Molly clarified that gorgeous people tended to fall in love with other gorgeous people. Spinelli and Maxie gave hope to all nerds because the "babe" had picked the "genius." Molly then began talking about Sam and Jason being star-crossed lovers. Again, Sam was forced to admit that she had no idea what Molly meant by "star-crossed," but she insisted that she and Jason were just friends. Molly didn't believe her; she was confident that Sam and Jason were lovers, not friends. Sam smiled, but didn't have an opportunity to comment further because Kiefer had arrived. Wedding guests began arriving at Rice Manor, Spinelli and Jason arrived. Kristina, and Molly's arrival helped calm Spinelli's nerves. Spinelli admitted that he looked forward to Molly's poetry reading. Robin entered the drawing room a few minutes later to let Spinelli know that Maxie had arrived. After Robin returned to Maxie's side, Jason announced that it was time to get the wedding underway. Spinelli experienced a bout of cold feet, but when Jason suggested that Spinelli talk to Maxie, Spinelli declined. Jason advised Spinelli to focus on Maxie by looking into her eyes and then speaking from the heart. Spinelli welled up with tears when he saw Maxie enter the drawing room on Mac's arm. She looked radiant as Mac walked her down the aisle. As Father Coates began the ceremony, Maxie and Spinelli gazed deeply into each other's eyes. When it was time to recite their vows, Spinelli spoke first. He told Maxie that he had lost the vows that he had written, so he was left with nothing but the words in his heart. The guests chuckled when Spinelli admitted that he was not like others and that he never had been. Spinelli admitted that he was okay with being different. According to Spinelli, Maxie had understood Spinelli from the moment they had met. Spinelli was profoundly grateful and shocked that she loved him. To Spinelli, that was the most precious gift and one that he never intended to betray. For that reason, Spinelli couldn't marry Maxie. 9/28 Spinelli spoke from his heart when he told Maxie that to prove his love, he would not marry her. Mac fainted from relief. When he recovered, Maxie said her vows. She told Spinelli that she loved him, especially because he put her need not to marry above his need to marry. She told him that she was a better person because of him. She said he was her essential person forever, and that she did want to spend the rest of her life with him and she did want to get married to him--she just wanted to wait. She then vowed to be his non-bride. Getting into the spirit, the priest pronounced them unmarried, and told Spinelli that he could kiss the woman who was not his bride. Maxie and Spinelli shared a joyful kiss. They invited everyone to Jake's for the non-wedding reception. Robin insisted that everyone throw the birdseed, which they did as Maxie and Spinelli walked down the aisle. Sam and Jason found themselves alone after the others had left. She wanted to know what he had said to Spinelli to make him change his mind about getting married. Jason said that he had only told Spinelli to follow his heart. Sam and Jason shared a long look, followed a slow, lingering kiss. Maxie and Spinelli arrived for their non reception at Jake’s. Everyone in the bar applauded them. Coleman offered his congratulations and a toast to the non-married couple. Jason invited Carly out for a walk. She told him that she knew that the only reason he wore a pink tie was for Spinelli. As they headed out through the alley, they noticed the stairs to Jason's old apartment above Jake's. They both remembered how much they had meant to each other. Jason told Carly that he had felt lucky to know her at that time in his life. They shared a familial hug. Jason was ready to leave, but Sam said he was still the best man and had to stay until the party was over. Jason reluctantly agreed, just as Robin announced that it was time for the best man and maid of honor to make toasts to the non-bride and the non-groom. Lulu went first and toasted the happy couple. She said that they had proven their love by not getting married. The crowd cheered when she lifted her glass to them. The crowd waited for Jason to say something, but he was tongue-tied. Morgan took over, saying that he had the same name so he would speak for Jason. Morgan said how courageous both Maxie and Spinelli had been. Spinelli gave up the wedding because of his love for Maxie, and she had been willing to go through with it because of her love for Spinelli. All the onlookers cheered and drank another toast. Robin announced that it was time for the non-bride and the non-groom to throw the garter and the bouquet. Jason refused to be part of the lineup, but caught the garter anyway. The crowd got a good laugh. Sam also refused to line up for the bouquet toss, and also caught the bouquet as Jason had the garter. Spinelli said the coincidence was evidence that the stars were perfectly aligned. The Karokee machine is set up and when the music started, everyone at Jake's serenaded the happy non-married couple with a stirring rendition of "I Want To Know What Love Is.” as Spinelli and Maxie danced in front of their friends. 9/29 At Jake's, Maxie and Spinelli celebrated their non-wedding with their friends and family. Spinelli invited the guests to serenade the happy couple on the Karaoke machine that Coleman had set up. Initially, no one took to the microphone until Ethan stood up to wow the crowd with his rendition of INXS's "Need You Tonight." Next up were Morgan and Molly, who entertained everyone with their version of the Jackson Five's "ABC." Carly and Alexis beamed with pride as their children sang and danced on the stage. Following Morgan and Molly were the double-trouble duo of Mac and Patrick, who had decided to sing the Village People's "Macho Man." Not to be outdone, Coleman temporarily pulled the plug on the song, so that he could join in on the fun. Everyone clapped with delight as Coleman, Mac, and Patrick gyrated around Jake's, while they sang off-key. A tipsy Kate was so impressed with Coleman's performance that she planted a lusty kiss on his lips as soon as the song had ended. As Sam prepared to leave Jake's, she retrieved the wedding bouquet that she had caught. Jason didn't want the night to end, so he invited Sam back to his penthouse. When they arrived at the penthouse, Jason led Sam upstairs to the bedroom. Sam was surprised when she saw that dozens of lit candles were scattered throughout the room. Sam walked over to the bed, where Jason joined her. The two kissed and then made love. 10/1 Kiefer and Kristina started to make out when Sam entered the bedroom. Sam asked why Kiefer was in Kristina's room. Kristina insisted that Sam was in the wrong because she entered Kristina's room uninvited. Kiefer made up an excuse that he was there to drop of homework to Kristina, who he said did not feel well. Sam did not believe Kiefer's story, but he continued to play up the sweet, innocent, responsible boyfriend angle. Kiefer said he was about to leave, but told Kristina that he would get back to her about their "problem," before he walked out the door. Sam gave him an uneasy smile as he exited. Alone in the room, Sam expressed to Kristina that Sam could see that Kiefer was a smooth operator. Kristina said that it was none of Sam's business what had happened in Kristina's room. Sam asked Kristina if she had sex with Kiefer. Kristina told Sam that what Kristina did or did not do with Kiefer was none of Sam's business. Sam wanted to make sure that Kristina knew the risk that went along with sex. Sam told Kristina that if Kristina had sex, then she needed to prepare herself. Kristina got upset when Sam said that Kristina should make sure that Kiefer used a condom. Kristina grabbed her purse and stormed out of the bedroom. Michael and Carly talked about his memories. He remembered that Claudia admitted to setting up the hit that got him shot. He did not tell Carly about the memory, and then Jason showed up to visit. Carly asked Michael again what he remembered and he lied. He said that he remembered some doctors that had observed him. He made up an excuse that he had to leave. Jason did not believe that Michael had been up-front. Carly could tell that Michael had covered so as to not tell her something. Jason said that Michael would tell them when he was ready. Jason implored Carly to let Michael work out his own memories in his own time. She said that it was really hard for her, because she wanted to help her son. Jason told Carly that she needed to trust Jason to take care of Michael, like Jason had always done. Carly finally calmed down and her baby kicked. She had Jason feel her stomach and the two shared a nice moment with the baby. Jason met Johnny at Sonny's new office building to discuss a leak in the organization. Jason questioned Johnny about the leak. Sonny showed up and interrupted Jason and Johnny's conversation. Sonny jumped in and told Johnny that someone must have tipped off the cops, because the bust went off without a hitch. Johnny insisted that he was not the one that leaked the information to the cops. Sonny said that maybe Johnny worked with his father, Anthony. Johnny said that he did not care that Sonny did not like him, but he told Sonny that he was not a snitch and had nothing to gain from the situation. Sonny said that he just did not believe Johnny. Sonny fully acknowledged that he did not like or trust Johnny. Sonny said that he would not do anything to Johnny unless he had proof. Sonny said that if Johnny was involved, then Johnny should just run right then. Johnny asked if there was anything else. Sonny said, "No," and Johnny left the room. After Johnny left, Jason said that Johnny was not guilty. Sonny was not convinced. Jason did not think that Sonny should let Sonny's personal feelings about Johnny get in the way. Jason said that he and Sonny needed to find the leak immediately. Sonny and Jason continued to outline their strategy to find the leak. Dominic knocked on the door and Jason let him into the office. Dominic said he was there because Bernie said that Sonny wanted to see Dominic. 10/2 Kristina arranged to meet Sam on the piers. Kristina wanted Sam to take her to get birth control pills. Sam questioned if Kristina was ready to have sex. In her attempt to discourage Kristina, Sam opened up about her own past. Kristina appreciated Sam's concern, but she insisted that her situation was different. Kristina claimed that she had thought things through, which was why she had decided to get birth control pills. Sam was worried that Kiefer was pressuring Kristina to have sex, but Kristina denied it. Kristina insisted that she and Kiefer were ready. Sam reluctantly agreed to take her sister to a clinic the following day. In Sonny's office, Jason and Sonny told Dominic that there was a leak in the organization. Sonny believed that Dominic was in a perfect position to find the mole. Sonny suspected that the person might be an undercover police officer. At Greystone Manor, Michael questioned Claudia about her bedside confession while he had been in a coma. Michael told Claudia that in his memories she said that she was sorry over and over. Michael said that he also remembered that Claudia said that it was her fault that he got shot. Claudia mustered up a few tears as she went into damage control mode. She told Michael that she had empathized with his situation because she'd grown up in a similar kind of environment. She insisted that she had never confessed to being responsible for the shooting. Claudia suggested that perhaps Jason had planted the thought in Michael's head. Michael went to the rebuilt coffee warehouse to talk to Jason. He was curious why Jason hated Claudia. Instead of answering Michael's question, Jason asked if Michael had remembered anything new. Michael admitted that a few memories had returned, but he didn't provide Jason with any details. He accused Jason of avoiding the question. Michael suspected that Jason was either waiting for Carly to have the baby, gathering evidence, or hoping that Michael would remember something revealing. Michael explained that he just wanted to move forward with his life. He wasn't interested in seeking revenge for what had happened to him. Shortly after Michael stormed out, Sam arrived. Sam confessed that she was concerned about Kristina. She told him about Kristina's decision to have sex with Kiefer. Sam worried that Kristina was being pressured into something that she wasn't ready for. Sam was certain that the only reason that Kristina had agreed to have sex was because she feared losing Kiefer. Sam understood that kind of fear. She confessed that during their first relationship, she'd been so in love with Jason that she had lost herself. Sam didn't want that to happen to her again. Jason assured Sam that she could set the pace of their relationship. They both agreed that they had to be completely honest with each other in order for their relationship to work. 10/5 Sam and Jason had dinner together. They talked about Michael and his returning memories of Claudia. Jason had questioned Michael, but had not told Michael about his suspicions that Claudia had been behind the shooting that had put Michael in a coma. Jason told Sam that he wanted definitive proof of Claudia's guilt before he said anything to anyone. Sam told him to trust his instincts. Sam told Jason that she would help him any way she could. Jason remembered that Ian Devlin's last words had been, "There's more." Sam suggested that perhaps a search of Devlin's belongings would reveal a clue. Sam decided that she would try to get the police department to let her look at Devlin's personal effects while Jason pursued information about Claudia. Sonny told Jason what he had learned from Dominic. He asked Jason to check up on Dominic and make sure that he did the job he had been assigned. Jason agreed. As he was leaving, Claudia entered. Jason was not friendly to her. Jason was in the car talking on the phone to Sam, who was busily trying to gain access to Devlin's possessions. Jason told Sam that he was on his way to check up on Dominic to make sure that he had done the job as Sonny had ordered. 10/6 Dominic was doing Sonny's dirty work, and he took Tommy Soto deep into the woods to kill him. As soon as they were far away from anyone who could have overheard them, Dominic revealed to Soto that he was an undercover cop. Soto could choose to go into witness protection or be killed. Soto tried to refuse witness protection, but he quickly changed his mind and left. Jason showed up and found Dominic in the woods. Soto was nowhere to be seen, and it appeared that Dominic had been knocked unconscious. Jason quickly looked around for Soto, but they left when Jason couldn't find any sign of the traitor. Jason took Dominic to Sonny to explain what had happened. Sonny was furious, but Jason asked him to give Dominic a break. Dominic had saved Morgan's life, and they owed Dominic for that debt. Sonny reluctantly agreed, and Dominic left. Once they were alone, Sonny told Jason that he wanted to talk about Claudia. Jason thought Sonny might have more information about Michael's shooting, but Sonny just wanted Jason to show some respect to Claudia. She had her faults, but she just lost a child. Sonny thought Jason should give Claudia a break. 10/7 Jason was furious when he entered Sam's office. Sam was surprised to learn that Sonny had ordered Jason to leave Claudia alone. Jason was frustrated because he was certain that Claudia had been involved in Michael's shooting. Sam admitted that she wanted to reserve judgment until she had more information. Jason realized that he couldn't be objective when it came to "that bitch," but he remained determined to learn the truth, despite Sonny's orders. While Sam did an Internet search for information about Ian Devlin, Spinelli entered the office. He had returned from his "non-honeymoon" trip with Maxie. Jason was eager to put Spinelli to work, but thoughts of Maxie distracted Spinell. It took several minutes for Jason to persuade Spinelli to focus on his investigation. While Spinelli worked his magic in cyberspace, he admitted that he had his doubts about Claudia's guilt. Jason made it clear that until they had definitive proof that Claudia wasn't involved, he would always suspect her of orchestrating the hit on Sonny. A short time later, Spinelli found the Port Charles Police Department evidence log, which listed items taken from Ian Devlin. When they realized that Ian had a micro-recorder on him at the time of his death, Jason insisted that Spinelli find a way for Jason to get into the police warehouse were the evidence was stored. 10/8 Sam accompanied Kristina to a family planning clinic. Kristina was nervous about being there, but Sam explained that the clinic was there to help prevent unwanted pregnancies and STDs. Kristina commented that she and Sam were both unplanned pregnancies for Alexis. Sam encouraged Kristina to not be so hard on their mother. Kristina said that all she ever did was what her mother wanted her to do. Kristina did not want Alexis to know that Kristina had been to the clinic. Dr. Lee walked in and Kristina became worried that the doctor would tell her mother that Kristina had been there. Dr. Lee assured Kristina that the visit to the clinic was completely confidential and that Kristina's mother would not be told about it. Kristina again thanked Sam for Sam's support. After the appointment Sam made sure that Kristina was okay with everything that had happened. Sam told Kristina about the first time that Sam had sex. Sam said that she had sex for all the wrong reasons. Sam wished that Kristina would wait until she was older, but Sam understood and respected that Kristina had made up her own mind. Sam told Kristina that Sam did not have a real relationship until Sam was an adult. She did not want Kristina to miss out on a real emotional connection. Later, Sam dropped Kristina off at home. On the porch, Sam said that she hoped that Kristina would learn from Sam's past mistakes. Kristina said that she had to wait a month before the birth control would take effect. Sam thought that was good, but Kristina said that she hoped that Kiefer could wait. The two entered the house where Alexis waited for them. 10/9 At the Davis residence, Alexis wondered where Kristina had been. Sam lied, claiming that they had gone to a mall. She told her mother that she had enlisted Kristina's help with a case involving a teen. Kristina apologized for not letting Alexis know, but she assured her mother that it had been fun hanging out with Sam. At the penthouse, Spinelli suggested that he arrange to have the box containing Ian Devlin's possessions moved from the police warehouse. Jason nixed the idea; he wanted Spinelli to find a way for Jason to get into the warehouse undetected. When Jason returned to the living room a short time later, dressed in black, he noticed that Spinelli wore similar garb. Jason demanded to know what Spinelli was doing. Spinelli pulled on his black ski mask and then announced that he intended to join Jason. Jason vehemently objected to Spinelli accompanying him on the mission. Before Spinelli could argue his case, someone knocked on the door. It was Sam. Jason immediately asked Sam to help him retrieve the evidence from the police warehouse. Sam readily agreed. Later, at the police warehouse, Sam and Jason communicated with Spinelli at the penthouse via headphones. They followed Spinelli's instructions as he guided them, using the warehouse's schematics, into the evidence room. Sam and Jason were frustrated when they were unable to locate the box. They decided to split up to widen their search while Spinelli tried to determine exactly where the box was located. No one realized that someone had entered the building until it was too late. Jason managed to duck out of sight before Lucky appeared with his gun drawn. 10/12 Lucky caught Sam in the evidence locker, but he did not notice Jason in the shadows. Sam told him that she was there to look up an old case file for a client and that she had merely hoped to skip the red tape. She said that she only wanted to look, not actually steal anything. Sam was prepared to face the consequences if Lucky arrested her, but he told her that he owed her a pass because of all that she had done for him. Lucky told Sam that he and Elizabeth were getting remarried, He apologized to Sam for never really giving their relationship a chance because he had never let go of his love for Elizabeth. She told him it was okay. She also said that he had helped her through a tough time. When Lucky asked about her relationship to Jason, she denied having one. Lucky helped Sam exit the building, but did not notice Jason, who stayed behind to check on Devlin's evidence box. Jason caught up with Sam as she arrived at her apartment. Jason told her that he had gotten into the evidence locker and found a tape recorder with no tape. They speculated that Devlin had hidden it somewhere to use it as blackmail over Claudia. They agreed to start searching for it by having Spinelli look for a safe deposit box that Devlin might have had, that had gone undiscovered. They talked about her conversation with Lucky and she apologized for pretending that they were not a couple. Jason told her that he appreciated everything she did for him. He told her that they had gotten past what was wrong in their relationship and were getting to what was right. Sam was very pleased. Jason and Sam laughed and started kissing. Sam climbed into Jason's lap. They were about to get romantic when Molly, dressed in a swimsuit, fins, and a scuba mask, interrupted them. 10/13 In Sam's apartment, Molly walked past Jason and Sam making out on the couch. They were both shocked, but Molly acted as if it was no big deal. Sam tried to gently inform her little sister that she shouldn't have invaded their privacy. Molly had used her key that Sam had given her to enter the apartment for a sample of the hot tub water for a science project. Since she had Jason and Sam's full attention, Molly asked questions about their relationship that even they were not prepared to answer. Molly especially wanted to know why Jason and Sam pretended like they weren't dating. When Sam arrived back at her apartment from taking Molly home, Jason tried to sidetrack her by talking about Ian Devlin and a possible safe-deposit box. Sam stopped Jason and told him she wanted to talk. Sam tried to start the difficult conversation about their relationship, but she gave up and decided to go back to the safe-deposit box inquiries. Jason tried to convince Sam that he really did want to talk about their relationship. He told her he hadn't realized how much he had missed her until they started spending time together again. Sam smiled as Jason revealed his feelings for her. When Alexis arrived at Sam's apartment, she asked Jason if she could have a private conversation with her daughter. As soon as Jason left, Alexis told Sam what Molly had revealed to her. Sam started to deny it, but Alexis stopped her. She wasn't interested in what had or hadn't happened. Alexis was more concerned with the fact that Sam was sleeping with a mobster, and Kristina and Molly looked up to Sam. Alexis thought it was time to set some guidelines. Jason walked into Sonny’s living room and told Michael to leave. Michael started to protest, but he soon realized there was no point, and he left. Jason told Claudia that he had found Ian Devlin's safe-deposit box, complete with recordings of all his business deals. Jason said there was even a recording between Claudia and Ian. 10/14 At Greystone Manor, Jason informed Claudia that Ian had recorded all of his personal conversations. Claudia managed to hide her reaction to the news behind a cool façade. Claudia insisted that she didn't have anything to do with the shooting, but Jason didn't believe her. He called her a liar, prompting Claudia to go on the attack. Claudia reminded Jason that she was Sonny's wife and then accused Jason of being an obsolete war tank without an enemy to hunt down. Jason disagreed and made it clear that he considered Claudia the enemy. Claudia wondered why it was so important for Jason to prove that she was somehow involved in Michael's shooting. She pointed out that Michael was recovered and ready to move forward with his life. Claudia questioned if Jason was attempting to atone for not being able to adequately protect Michael, for being asleep on the job. At Sam's apartment, Alexis reminded her daughter that she was the mother, not Sam. Alexis wanted Molly and Kristina to confide to their mom, not their elder sister. Sam was hurt; she questioned if Alexis considered Sam a bad influence on the girls. Alexis admitted that she had reservations about the way that Kristina and Molly idolized their sister. Sam insisted that she and Jason had not been having sex when Molly had walked in. Alexis pointed out that regardless what had happened, Molly had walked away with questions. Alexis didn't relish being in a position where she had to have a sex talk with her ten-year-old daughter. As Alexis turned to leave, Sam stopped her. Sam suggested that perhaps Alexis should stop trying to micro-manage every aspect of Kristina and Molly's lives. According to Sam, Alexis put too much pressure on her younger daughters to be perfect. Sam speculated that Kristina and Molly enjoyed spending time with Sam because they were able to be imperfect around her. DVD #22B Sam admitted that she had made mistakes, but she insisted that she had learned from them. Alexis confided that she was terrified. She realized that Kristina was in trouble. Alexis promised that she loved Sam and that she thought her eldest daughter was wonderful. Alexis also believed that Sam continued to show questionable judgment when it came to men. Alexis pointed to Sam's rekindled relationship with Jason as an example. Sam reminded Alexis that she didn't have room to talk. Alexis readily agreed; she made it clear that she didn't want Kristina or Molly to emulate her, either. Alexis wanted more for Kristina and Molly than what she and Sam had. Alexis hoped to encourage her daughters to turn to her for guidance, not Sam. Alexis believed that limiting their contact with Sam would help. For that reason, Alexis decided that it was best to return Molly's key to Sam. After Sam took the key, Alexis left. Alexis walked away, and Sam watched with an expression of sadness. Claudia continued to try to get under Jason's skin, to no avail. Jason warned her that if he heard her voice on any of the recordings, he would be back for her. After Jason left Greystone Manor, he went to see Sam. He immediately sensed that Sam was troubled. Sam confessed that, as childish as it sounded, she felt hurt because she was certain that her mother hated her. After Sam revealed the details of her discussion with Alexis, she admitted that she understood Alexis' point of view. Sam agreed that she wouldn't want her daughters to repeat her mistakes. Sam was certain that things would only get worse if Alexis learned that Sam had taken Kristina to the clinic for birth control pills. Jason asked Sam if she thought Kristina would have proceeded with her plans to have sex if Sam hadn't taken Kristina to the clinic. When Sam nodded yes, Jason confirmed that she had done the right thing. Jason believed that Sam was a good influence on her sisters. Sam appreciated Jason's support. Later, Sam confessed that she found it ironic that Alexis had lectured Sam about Jason despite Alexis' involvement with Jerry. Jason admitted that he saw Alexis' point about him; however Sam didn't care. She kissed Jason and then pulled away to check the apartment for possible hidden siblings ready to interrupt them. When she confirmed that they were alone, Sam returned to the sofa and Jason's arms. 10/15 When Sam arrived at Jason's penthouse, she admitted that it felt odd greeting him when they had woken up together earlier that morning. Jason and Sam kissed, but they jumped apart when Spinelli and Maxie entered. Maxie confessed that she didn't understand why Jason and Sam couldn't be honest about their relationship in front of other people. Sam claimed that some people didn't feel the need to flaunt their relationship to the world. Maxie and Spinelli were unabashedly affectionate as they kissed and cuddled on the sofa. Jason watched their antics with a mixed expression of horror and disgust. Later, Spinelli, Jason, and Sam discussed where Ian might have hidden the tapes. Sam suggested searching Ian's motel room. A short time later, Jason prepared to pick the lock of the room that Ian had stayed in. However, Sam stopped him. She suggested renting the room instead. While Sam dashed off to pay for the room, a prostitute approached Jason. She bragged that she could satisfy Jason more than Sam could. Jason wasn't interested. The hooker continued to try to tempt Jason until Sam returned. Sam quickly chased the woman off and then handed Jason the key. Moments after they entered the motel room, someone knocked on the door. It was the prostitute. She flashed her badge as she identified herself as a police officer, and then announced that Sam and Jason were under arrest for solicitation. 10/16 At the cheap motel that Ian had lived at, Sam and Jason were stunned when the hooker who had propositioned Jason identified herself as a police officer. Sam denied the accusation of solicitation, but the police officer wasn't interested in what Sam had to say. The policewoman had visions of a promotion after being the officer who had finally managed to make a charge against Jason Morgan stick. At the police station, Mac decided that Sam and Jason were to be booked. Sam couldn't believe that Mac intended to proceed with the charges. The police officer insisted that she had seen money exchanged between Sam and Jason. Sam explained that Jason had given her the money to rent a room. Mac was curious why Sam and Jason needed to rent a room at a seedy motel. A short time later, Maxie and Spinelli arrived at the police station. Initially they were outraged because Jason had solicited a prostitute. Sam quickly cleared things up when she entered the interrogation room. Maxie and Spinelli jumped to the conclusion that Sam and Jason had been role-playing. Jason reminded them that he and Sam needed to be bailed out. After Maxie and Spinelli left, Jason shared a smile with Sam. Later, Sam and Jason returned to the motel room. Jason quickly discovered a prescription pad hidden in the wall safe. An address was scrawled across it. 10/19 Johnny caught up with Jason in the alley behind Jake's. He told Jason that Joey Limbo, one of Anthony's most dastardly thugs, would soon be released from jail. Johnny told Jason that Sonny believed that Joey would start targeting the Corinthos mob for elimination and wanted Jason to drop everything else so he could keep track of Joey. When Johnny asked Jason what had been keeping him busy, Jason was reluctant to answer. Johnny guessed that Jason was still trying to prove Claudia's guilt in Michael's shooting. Johnny tried to get Jason to give up his search for evidence and let it be, but Jason said that Johnny would also feel better once Claudia's guilt was established. Jason and Sam searched the basement of a house that had belonged to Ian Devlin. They found a duffel bag stuffed with money and bearer bonds hidden behind a vent. They were about to search further when they heard someone enter the upstairs. They prepared to hide when they heard a woman's scream followed by a thump. Dante to the alley to look at the graffiti, CO77X was written in fancy script on the wall. As Dante stared at the design, the scene shifted to a warehouse loft. The same distinctive letters and script were painted on a window. Inside the loft, in dark shadow, was either a very still person, or a statue, in meditative pose. There was a large corkboard to the left, with crime scene photos of a man who had been shot in the back. 10/20 Jason and Sam were in the basement of a house looking for Ian Devlin's belongings. They were searching for anything that could pin Michael's shooting on Claudia. They stopped when they heard a loud thud from upstairs. Jason and Sam raced upstairs and found a pregnant woman on the ground, unconscious. Jason called emergency services, but he decided it would be faster to drive the woman to General Hospital himself. When Jason and Sam arrived at General Hospital, the woman was whisked away for an emergency cesarean section. Jason talked to Patrick about Ian Devlin, trying to get any information Patrick could remember out of him. Sam, meanwhile, was hovering around the nursery. She was worried when she didn't see a baby being carried in, and she feared the worst for the unknown woman's child. When Jason found her, he realized she was reliving the pain she had felt when she lost her own daughter. Jason assured her that the woman and her baby would be fine. 10/21 Spinelli bounded down the stairs, while Sam, sound asleep, was stretched out on the sofa with her head on Jason's lap. Jason tried to shush Spinelli before Sam woke up, but it was too late. Sam sat up and then stretched before she thanked Jason for helping her through a difficult night. Sam realized that Jason was the only person who understood what she was feeling about her stillborn daughter. Spinelli was eager to hear the details of Jason and Sam's night of adventure. Sam revealed that they had broken into a residence because they had suspected that Ian had stashed incriminating evidence against Claudia in the house. They admitted that they hadn't found what they were looking for, but they were on hand to help a pregnant woman who had gone into labor. Sam told Spinelli that they had managed to get the woman to the hospital in time for the baby to be safely delivered. Spinelli hoped that the woman decided to show her appreciation by not pressing charges against Sam and Jason for breaking and entering. Jason and Sam didn't appear too concerned by the possibility. However, Jason was reminded that he might have discovered another lead. Thanks to a conversation with Patrick, Jason suspected that Ian had hidden the information that they sought somewhere at the hospital. Spinelli went to work, checking Ian Devlin's hospital files. Spinelli quickly discovered that Ian had backed up patient files on various DVDs. Jason was determined to get his hands on those DVDs. Alexis spotted Sam at GH making her way to the elevators. Alexis caught up with her daughter to ask her what she was doing at the hospital. Sam's evasiveness only sparked Alexis' interest. After Sam rushed off, Alexis noticed Robin exiting the room that Sam had walked out of. In the conference room, Jason and Patrick sifted through files. After Patrick was called away, Alexis slipped into the room. She apologized for interrupting Jason, but she wanted to know if it was possible for him to conduct his investigation without Sam's help. A warehouse office was shown. The walls were lined with police snapshots of murder crime scenes. On the floor was a poster with "CO77X" painted on it. Moments later, red splatter appeared across the tag. The episode featured the song, "Mad World," by Adam Lambert. 10/22 At the hospital, Alexis asked Jason not to involve Sam in his investigation into Ian Devlin's possible co-conspirators. Alexis worried that Sam might end up being an accessory to murder. Alexis urged Jason to prove that he cared for Sam by protecting her from criminal charges. Shortly after Alexis left, Sam returned to the conference room with some coffee. Jason told Sam about Alexis' visit. Jason grudgingly admitted that Alexis had a valid point, because he intended to kill Ian's accomplices. Jason didn't want anyone, least of all Sam, to be implicated in the crime. Sam dismissed Alexis' concerns. According to Sam, Alexis viewed everything as too risky. Sam claimed that she only wanted to focus on finding Ian's partners in crime. Moments later, Sam discovered a DVD dated March 28, 2008. Jason commented that it was close to the date of Michael's shooting. Jason and Sam returned to the penthouse to view the DVD, but discovered that it was encrypted. Jason called Spinelli to order him to return to the penthouse on an urgent matter. A short time later, Spinelli arrived. Jason put Spinelli to work immediately. Within moments, Spinelli was able to crack the code. Jason, Sam, and Spinelli listened, as Ian demanded assurances for himself if things went wrong. Jason realized that the recording had been of a meeting finalizing the hit on Sonny. Jason insisted that Spinelli unlock the rest of the recording, so that they could hear whom Ian had been talking to. 10/23 At the penthouse, Jason was certain that the other voice on the recording of Ian's conversation would belong to Claudia. Spinelli worked diligently to unlock the remainder of the recording, but only succeeded in uncovering an indistinguishable word by an unknown person. Jason was positive that it was Claudia's voice, but Sam and Spinelli had their doubts. Spinelli suggested that perhaps Jason was allowing his hatred of Claudia to cloud his judgment. Spinelli insisted that they didn't have enough sound to make a proper voice comparison. Jason ordered Spinelli to do whatever was necessary to prove that it was Claudia on the recording. Shocked, Spinelli asked if Jason was suggesting that Spinelli manufacture evidence to prove Jason's theory. Jason reminded Spinelli that Claudia was evil and that he was tired of her getting away with what she had done. Spinelli refused to frame Claudia for something he wasn't even certain she had done. Jason was livid; he ordered Spinelli to leave. After Spinelli left the penthouse, Jason apologized to Sam for the way that he had behaved. Sam suggested that perhaps Jason was furious because a part of him feared that Spinelli might have been correct. Later, Jason and Sam went to the hospital to check on the progress that Patrick and Robin had made. When they entered the conference room, Patrick and Robin informed Jason that their search hadn't yielded anything useful. Jason decided to double-check the files, but Patrick and Robin refused to hand them over to Jason. Robin explained that they were willing to bend the rules, but they drew the line at violating the privacy of the patients. Jason explained that he wasn't interested in anyone's medical history, but Robin and Patrick held firm. Epiphany entered moments later. When she saw Jason, Sam, Patrick, and Robin gathered in the conference room, Epiphany decided that she didn't want to know what they were all up to. Epiphany informed Patrick and Robin that the maintenance crew was going to clear out the items in Lost and Found, so it was their last chance to check if they were missing anything. After Epiphany left, Jason wondered what had happened to the contents of Ian's locker. Jason and Sam were sifting through piles of various items in one of several large bins. Robin and Patrick were nearby, going through another bin. Sam discovered a duffel bag that resembled one that she and Jason had seen in the basement of the house that Ian had rented. A quick search of the duffel bag revealed numerous DVDs. Jason and Sam returned to the penthouse. Jason was eager to sift through the DVDs. He suggested that they focus on anything dated between March 28, 2008, and April 4, 2008. Sam was curious what would happen if they didn't find anything. She wondered if Jason's vendetta was about avenging Michael or getting Claudia at any cost. Jason suggested that Sam could leave, but Sam declined. Moments later, Jason discovered a DVD dated March 31, 2008. As they listened to it, Jason and Sam heard Claudia, Jerry, and Ian discuss in great detail their intention to kill Sonny on April 4, 2008. Sam realized that Jason had been correct about Claudia. In a warehouse office, mug shots of Jason were pinned to the wall, next to police snapshots of various murder crime scenes. A newspaper article of Jason's FBI arrest was also among the items on the wall. "Jason Morgan" was scrawled repeatedly on a chalkboard, while graffiti reading "CO77X" was scattered throughout the room. This episode featured the song, "Mad World, " by Adam Lambert. 10/26 At Jason's place, he and Sam got definite proof that Claudia was responsible for Michael's shooting. They found a CD containing a voice recording of a meeting between Jerry, Devlin, and Claudia planning the hit on Sonny. It was clear that Claudia was the driving force behind the shooting. Jason was ready to take action against Claudia immediately, but Sam slowed him down. She told Jason that he had to tell Sonny. She said that he had to be prepared for all possibilities, including that Sonny might chalk it up as a hit that went bad. Spinelli stopped in to pick up his laptop, still smarting from the argument that he' d had with Jason earlier. Jason recognized the tension and apologized to Spinelli for yelling at him. He told Spinelli that he appreciated how Spinelli had stood up to him. Spinelli was surprised but glad. When he asked Jason if he could help, Jason remained mum and told Spinelli to distance himself for a while to give Jason a break. Spinelli understood and left. When Sam asked why Jason had not told Spinelli about the proof, Jason said that Spinelli sometimes unintentionally told what he knew, plus Jason wanted to protect him. Jason told Sam that she should stay away, too, but Sam said that she was a big girl. Jason told Sam that she had been right earlier, that he did have to tell Sonny about Claudia before he took any action on his own. Sam wanted to know what Jason would do if Sonny no longer wanted revenge. She also wanted to know what Michael's feelings would be if Jason killed Claudia. As Jason took his gun out of the closet, he told Sam that his loyalty to Michael was very strong because he had raised Michael for the first year of his life. He said that he had sworn to protect Michael and he had failed the boy . Jason said that as long as Michael felt no guilt, he had no qualms about killing Claudia. 10/27 Jason arrived at the garage. He told Johnny that Michael had remembered Claudia visiting him at the aftercare institute. Jason had also uncovered evidence that pointed to Claudia being behind the shooting. Again, Johnny was stunned at that revelation. Jason explained that he had a sister once, and he would have done anything to save her. Johnny understood, but he also understood the business. Claudia wouldn't be allowed to live for what she had done. When Jason arrived back at his apartment, Sam was waiting for him as the fury inside her raged on. She couldn't stop thinking about what could have happened to Michael and Kristina if she and Jason hadn't have found them in Mexico. They talked about the possibility that Kristina could have been sold to a drug dealer, and Jerry could have killed Michael. Sam realized they couldn't wait any longer. Claudia had to be killed as soon as possible. 10/28 In the office at the warehouse, Jason and Sam discussed the situation with Claudia. Jason was frustrated because he hadn't been able to talk to Sonny since Sonny's return from Puerto Rico. Moments later, Max called to let Jason know that Claudia was headed to Metro Court. Jason demanded to know where Johnny was, but Max hadn't heard from the younger Zacchara. Jason warned Max to make certain that Sonny and Johnny did not cross paths until Jason had an opportunity to talk to Sonny. Jason then instructed Max to keep a close eye on Claudia. Shortly after Sam left, Carly entered the office. Jason reminded Carly that she was supposed to be resting at home. Carly confessed that she couldn't relax because Michael seemed upset. She told Jason that Michael had implied that Sonny wouldn't be eager to throw Claudia a party if Sonny knew the truth about his wife. Michael had also hinted that Jason knew what the truth was. Carly demanded to know what was going on. Carly's frustration grew when Jason refused to tell her what he knew about Claudia. Jason reminded Carly of her promise to remain calm for the sake of the baby. When that failed, Jason confided that he'd been frightened when she had nearly lost the baby. Carly agreed to drop the matter, but only until the baby's birth. Afterwards, Carly expected Jason to tell her everything. Sam went to the Jacks residence to talk to Michael. Michael was curious why Jason hated Claudia. He wondered if Jason suspected Claudia of being responsible for Michael's shooting. Sam suggested that Michael talk to Jason, but Michael didn't think he'd get any answers from Jason. Michael was certain that Jason would try to protect him from the truth. Sam returned to Jason's office to tell him about her visit with Michael. Jason worried that Michael might know the truth about Claudia, but Sam assured Jason that he didn't. However, she added that Michael appeared determined to learn the truth. Jason was frustrated with the situation and questioned what kind of influence he was on Michael. Sam urged Jason not to let Claudia destroy his relationship with Michael. 10/29 Sam stopped by the warehouse to find out how Jason's meeting with Sonny had gone. Jason was frustrated because Sonny had not reacted to the shocking revelation. Jason insisted that he couldn't allow Claudia to get away with what she had done, no matter how Sonny felt about the situation. Jason wanted to trust that Sonny would do the "right thing," but he feared that Sonny's feelings for Claudia might cloud his judgment.mSam cautioned Jason about taking matters into his own hands. She warned him that killing Claudia might be viewed as the ultimate act of defiance. Sam reminded Jason that going against Sonny's orders could cost Jason everything that he held dear. Jason and Sam arrived moments before Sonny asked for everyone's attention. As Sonny announced that he wanted to say a few things about his "lovely wife," Carly, Olivia, and Johnny entered the restaurant within seconds of each other. Sonny started his speech by acknowledging his long-standing friendship with Luke, who had always been loyal to Sonny. Next, Sonny thanked Robin for being like a sister to him and for bringing Patrick into their lives. Sonny was eternally grateful to Patrick because he had saved Michael's life. Sonny then thanked Mike for never giving up on him. After Mike, Sonny thanked Alexis, conceding that, despite their differences, they had mutual respect for each other. When Sonny thanked Jason, he admitted that they had both paid a high price for their choices. Finally, Sonny turned to Claudia to ask, "What can I say about you? What best describes my wife? How can I ever repay you?" 10/30 At the Metro Court restaurant, party guests were gathered around Sonny and Claudia as Sonny acknowledged the important people in his life and then concluded his speech by turning to his wife. As everyone listened, Sonny credited Claudia for changing his life and leaving her mark on him and his family. Claudia's joy turned to trepidation when Sonny accused Claudia of being everything that people had warned him about. No longer masking his fury, Sonny angrily denounced Claudia for plotting to kill him and setting the events into motion that had resulted in Michael's shooting. Claudia appeared shell-shocked until Sonny called her a "faithless bitch." The insult seemed to jerk Claudia out of her daze. Claudia insisted that she was innocent, and then accused Jason of trying to frame her. When that failed to impress Sonny, Claudia begged to have a moment alone with her husband. Sonny laughed, but there was no humor in the sound. He apologized to the guests and then assured them that Claudia had lied to everyone for the last time. Sonny vowed that he would make certain that everyone would pay for their role in Claudia's plot. Desperate to save his sister, Johnny stepped forward. Johnny claimed that he had arranged the failed hit against Sonny. Johnny also insisted that Claudia had not known about it. Sonny revealed that he had heard every sordid detail of the plot with his own ears, so he knew that Johnny was lying. Sonny clarified that not only had Claudia hired Ian Devlin, but she had also enlisted Jerry Jacks to help carry out her plan. Sonny urged Jax to confirm that he had known about Jerry's involvement in Michael's shooting. He invited Jax to explain the steps that Jax had taken, in order to protect Jerry. Near the elevator door, Carly appeared devastated by Sonny's revelation. Meanwhile, Claudia's eyes filled with tears as she begged Sonny to stop. She reminded him of the life that they had built together and the child that they had lost. Sonny shouted for Claudia to "shut up" and then admitted that he "thanked God" that she had lost their child after the accident. Claudia reacted as if Sonny had slapped her; she couldn't believe Sonny considered the loss of their baby a blessing. Sonny shrugged his shoulders and then accused Claudia of getting pregnant on purpose. Claudia lashed out at Sonny. She claimed that everyone knew that the Corinthos children ran wild. According to Claudia, it was Sonny's fault that Michael had been at the warehouse on that fateful night. Sonny had enough of Claudia's twisted lies, so he ordered his men to grab her. Claudia immediately pulled a gun out of her purse and then threatened to shoot anyone who approached her. As Claudia made her way to the elevator door, Johnny and then Jax tried to persuade Claudia to drop the gun before things escalated. Claudia ignored them as she pulled Carly in front of her and then shoved the gun against Carly's stomach. Carly was seized by a contraction, but Claudia held the gun firmly in place. As Claudia slowly backed into the elevator, Carly begged Jason to take a shot. Jason refused to risk Carly's life. Alone in the elevator, Claudia threatened to shoot Carly in the head if she did not cooperate. Carly tried to reason with Claudia; she claimed she was useless as a hostage because she was in labor. Claudia wasn't swayed. When they reached the lobby, Claudia forced Carly out of the elevator. Moments later, Claudia shoved Carly in to the backseat of a car before she quickly climbed behind the wheel and then peeled out. As soon as the elevator door slid closed, the restaurant exploded into a flurry of activity. Sonny ordered his men to take Johnny, but Jason urged Sonny to reconsider. Jason insisted that they needed Johnny's help. As soon as Sonny agreed to release Johnny, Jason and Johnny raced down the stairs. Jax and Sonny opted to take the elevator. In the lobby, Jax and Sonny met up with Jason and Johnny. They raced to the street, but Claudia and Carly were gone. Mac arrived a few minutes later. Johnny quickly shared the location of several safe houses where Claudia might take Carly. Jason called Spinelli to let him know what had happened. He asked Spinelli to remain on standby in the event that Jason needed Spinelli's help. After Jason ended the call, Johnny approached him. Johnny briefly explained the details of his abduction and then revealed that he suspected that Joey Limbo had been ordered to kill Claudia. Jason was curious where Johnny's loyalties were; Johnny understood that saving Carly and the baby was his priority. Satisfied, Jason walked away. Moments later, Mac received information on the car that Claudia had stolen. However, he stopped Jason from trying to follow the lead. Mac realized that if he allowed Jason to leave, Claudia would end up dead. Mac decided that, since Jason had drawn his gun in a crowded restaurant, he could arrest Jason. Mac wanted to make certain that he had 48 hours to find Claudia. Jax was furious; he reminded Mac that they needed Jason's help to find Carly. Mac suggested that Jax calm down, but Jax refused. He told Mac that he wasn't going to let his wife and baby die just because Michael had been shot. Too late, Jax realized that Michael stood in the lobby and had overheard everything. Carly sat in the backseat of the stolen car trying to breathe through the contractions. Between the labor pains, Carly attempted to reason with Claudia. Carly argued that Jason couldn't make a move against Claudia after Sonny had threatened Claudia's life in a room full of witnesses. Claudia was nearly tempted to drive Carly to the hospital, but changed her mind at the last moment. Claudia was certain that nothing would stop Jason from killing her. Claudia insisted that she just needed to find a safe haven. Claudia then began talking about how Jason had ruined everything for her. Claudia confessed that she had felt guilty about what had happened to Michael. When Claudia claimed that she hadn't planned for Michael to get shot, Carly snapped. Carly confessed that she hoped that Claudia burned in hell for what she had done to Michael. Claudia wondered how Carly would feel if her baby had been taken from her. Carly demanded to know what Claudia had meant by the remark. Claudia cryptically told her that she would do whatever she had to, in order to survive. Fearing for the life of her child, Carly made a grab for the wheel. The car careened out of control and then crashed. Afterwards, Carly and Claudia were visibly injured and alarmingly still. 11/2 Claudia and Carly crashed after fighting for control of the car they were in. As the storm raged, Carly awoke and weakly cried for help. Claudia was unconscious and did not respond when Carly called her name. Carly left the car, but had a contraction before she could get very far away. After the contraction, Carly, still in great pain, retrieved a flashlight from the glove compartment. When Claudia did not awaken, Carly trudged away in the rain. She followed a trail through the woods that led to a cabin. Despite her contractions, Carly was able to find candles and get a fire started. Just as Carly made herself a spot to nest in on the sofa, Claudia burst through the front door. A bolt of lightening slanted behind her. In the interrogation room at the Port Charles Police Station, Jason tried to convince Lucky to let him go. When Lucky said that letting Jason go was signing Claudia's death sentence, Jason asked Lucky what he would do if Claudia were holding Elizabeth. A thoughtful Lucky was reaching for his keys when Mac interrupted and demanded that Lucky leave the room. Sam and Johnny stopped by to see Jason at the police station. Johnny was ready to make a deal with the cops to let Jason out and help find Claudia if Jason would guarantee not to kill Claudia. When Jason would not agree, Johnny left to look for Claudia on his own. Jason told Sam to go to Spinelli and follow any clues that Spinelli found. When Sam arrived at Jason's penthouse, Spinelli and Lulu had spotted a car with two women in it. The car was traveling west on a road that led to the old Zacchara mansion. Sam grabbed a gun and headed out. Jason told Lucky to go look for Carly. Lucky said that Mac would not let him join the search because Mac thought that Lucky could not be objective and might do something rash. Jason said that Lucky was not a killer. Lucky told Jason that nothing was certain. He told Jason that Mac could be right because people did crazy things in the name of family. Alexis accompanied Sonny to the PCPS and shredded the charges against Jason. Mac was forced to release Jason, though he did so grudgingly. When Mac entered the interrogation room, he told Lucky to cut Jason loose. As a parting shot, Mac told Lucky that at least he did not have to bring Lucky up on charges for aiding and abetting. Jason told Lucky how much he appreciated that Lucky was ready to help and would have if Mac had not interfered. When Jason got home, Spinelli told him that Sam, Lulu and Dominic had followed a clue that led to the old Zacchara mansion. Spinelli told Jason that he had spotted another car that fit the description headed east, in the exact opposite direction of the Zacchara place. Jason got his gun and headed east. Sam returned to Jason's apartment and told Spinelli that she found the car he had seen on camera. The two women in it were stopped at a diner and were not Carly and Claudia. Spinelli told Sam that he had spotted another car and that Jason was on its trail. As Jason drove through the increasingly violent storm, he spotted something off the road. He stopped his car and got out to investigate. 11/3 Jason found a car on the side of the road, and he followed a path from the car to a cabin in the woods. He burst through the door with his gun drawn and scared a young woman and her two children. The woman was furious and called Jason a maniac. Jason offered to help them, but the woman wanted nothing to do with Jason. He left and headed to his penthouse. At the penthouse, Sam was pacing the floor while Spinelli searched cyberspace for any information that might lead them to Claudia and Carly. Sam was upset that Jason hadn't waited for her to go with him, but Spinelli suggested that perhaps Jason didn't want the two of them implicated in any crimes that might occur. Jason arrived home to Sam and Spinelli, and he told them what had happened at the cabin. Jason was clearly disturbed that he had almost shot an innocent woman in his attempt at revenge against Claudia. Suddenly, Spinelli tracked down a picture of Claudia and Carly in a vehicle. As soon as they had an approximate location, Jason and Sam left to locate them. Meanwhile, Carly was in the midst of contractions when Claudia burst through the door. Despite Carly's instincts to run from Claudia, the contractions kept her from doing so. Claudia told Carly that she would help her, and she put her gun down on the table. Claudia reminded her that Claudia's own child had died, and she promised Carly that she wouldn't let that happen to her. When it was time for Carly to start pushing, Carly realized something was wrong. She was pushing, but the baby wasn't moving. She realized the baby's head or shoulders could be stuck. Claudia helped arrange the baby , and Carly's baby girl was finally born. Claudia wrapped the baby up and held her, cooing to her and talking to her all the time. Carly asked to hold her daughter, but Claudia seemed not to hear her. Claudia acted like she was the only person in the room with the baby girl. 11/4 Michael called Sam after he had found Claudia's abandoned car. However, the call kept dropping, so Sam was unable to ascertain Michael's exact location. At the cabin, Carly demanded that Claudia return Josslyn to her. Carly was weak after giving birth, so she was unable to leave the sofa. Claudia held Carly's daughter tightly in her arms as she cooed to the baby. When Carly warned Claudia that she couldn't have Josslyn, Claudia finally responded. According to Claudia, Carly had Michael and Morgan, while Claudia had lost everything. It quickly became clear that Claudia intended to leave with Josslyn. Carly screamed at Claudia not to take her baby, but her cries fell on deaf ears. Claudia set Josslyn in a basket, but before Claudia had reached the door, Michael entered the cabin. While Carly begged Claudia to stop, Michael swung an axe at Claudia. The axe struck Claudia with lethal accuracy. Claudia dropped the basket as she fell to the floor, dead. Michael stared in horror at Claudia's lifeless body. He dropped to his knees to check for a pulse, but didn't find one. Jason burst through the door seconds later. Sam was close behind Jason. Jason took in the grisly scene before he picked up Josslyn and then handed her to Carly. Carly was awed as she held her daughter for the first time. When Jason tried to guide Michael to the sofa, Michael objected. He showed Jason that he had blood on his hands. Jason gently led Michael to Carly and Josslyn anyway. Carly introduced Josslyn to her big brother. Michael cried as he apologized to his mother; he felt responsible for not preventing the tragedy. Carly insisted that nothing mattered except that Michael was safe. Jason decided to call Sonny, so he asked to use Sam's cell phone. Jason told Sonny that Carly and her daughter had been found and that Sam would take them to the hospital. Jason then requested that Sonny send Max and Milo to the cabin. After Jason ended the call with Sonny, he turned his attention to Carly. Jason instructed Carly to say that she had last seen Claudia in the car. Jason wanted Carly to tell everyone that she had delivered the baby alone in the cabin where Sam had found her. Carly was curious how she would explain Michael's presence, but Jason assured her that it wasn't necessary. Jason wanted Michael to remain at the cabin with him, while Sam took Carly and Josslyn to the hospital. Later, as Sam drove Carly to the hospital, Carly defended her son's actions. Carly insisted that Michael had tried to protect his family. Sam assured Carly that Jason would fix everything for Michael. At the cabin, Jason asked Michael how he had found Carly. Michael revealed that he had discovered the car and then decided to call Sam. Afterward, Michael had decided to search for his mother. According to Michael, as he approached the cabin, he had heard his mother screaming. Michael had picked up an axe as he had approached the door and then struck Claudia after he had entered the cabin. When Sonny arrived at the cabin, Michael immediately took responsibility for killing Claudia. Sonny was shocked by the news. Michael pulled away when Sonny tried to hug him. Michael was upset because he believed that he could have stopped everything from happening if he had told Sonny about Claudia sooner. Sonny argued that it didn't matter; Michael had stopped it in the end. Michael flinched when Sonny added that Michael "did good." Jason appeared stunned by Sonny's praise, but remained silent. After Sonny ordered Michael to get into the car, Sonny admitted to Jason that he didn't want to see Claudia's body. He instructed Jason to bury Claudia as "close to hell as possible." After Sonny drove away with Michael, Max and Milo arrived. Jason instructed Max and Milo to bag up Claudia body and then to set fire to the cabin. Max worried that the police might question the timing of Claudia's sudden disappearance and a convenient fire in the cabin that Carly had given birth in. Jason didn't care; he didn't want any evidence left behind of what had transpired that night. After Jason, Max, and Milo set the cabin on fire, they buried Claudia's body deep in the woods. 11/5 In the woods, Jason watched as Max and Milo filled Claudia's makeshift grave with dirt and then added a final layer of sod. Satisfied that there wasn't any indication of a grave, Jason and the Giambetti brothers left. Jason called Sonny to let him know, "It's done." As Sonny assured Dominic that everything had been taken care of, Dominic noticed the pile of clothes burning in the fireplace. When Dominic offered to help with the "clean up," Sonny looked beyond Dominic's shoulder to ask if Jason needed any assistance. Dominic was slightly unnerved to realize that Jason had silently entered the room. Sonny decided that Dominic could help by retrieving Claudia's car. After Dominic left, Jason asked how Michael was holding up. Sonny admitted that, as expected, Michael was rattled. Sonny was confident that the worst was behind them, since Claudia was dead and buried. He assured Jason that he would get Michael through the inevitable emotional fall out of Claudia's brutal demise. When Jason arrived, Jax informed him that it was a bad time for a visit, but Carly objected. Carly ordered Jax to leave, so that she could talk to Jason alone. Reluctantly, Jax left. As soon as they were alone, Carly revealed that Jax had known about Claudia and Jerry involvement in Michael's shooting, but he had kept silent. Jason tried to ease Carly's troubles. He leaned down to pick up Josslyn and then placed her in Carly's waiting arms. Carly immediately calmed down as she held her infant daughter. At the hospital, Johnny tried to question Sam about where Claudia was. Sam insisted that she had not seen Claudia. According to Sam, she had found Carly after Carly had given birth. Johnny didn't believe Sam, especially when she claimed that she wasn't certain where the cabin was located. Johnny pointed out that Sam was a professional private detective and an experienced captain of a salvage ship. It didn't make sense that she would have a bad sense of direction. Sam arrived at Jason's penthouse shortly after Johnny had left. When Spinelli told her about Johnny's visit, Sam admitted that she felt bad for Johnny. She realized that Claudia had been the only person who had been loyal to Johnny. Spinelli feared that Johnny suspected that Jason had killed Claudia. Sam hoped that wasn't the case; she didn't want Johnny to decide to avenge his sister. According to Sam, Jason and Johnny had become allies and forged a friendship. She hated the idea of them killing each other because of Claudia. When Jason arrived home, Sam was waiting for him. Jason was curious if the police had contacted her. When Sam confirmed that they had left a message on her voicemail, Jason assured Sam that there wouldn't be any evidence to contradict her story. Sam was concerned about Jason. She worried that the police would be after him, but Jason was confident that he could handle the police. He was relieved that at least Claudia was no longer a problem. In the warehouse of Jason's stalker, pictures of Jason closing Claudia's body bag and Jason standing over Claudia's grave were scattered on a desk. This episode featured the song, "Mad World," by Adam Lambert. 11/6 Carly was happy when Jason paid her a visit in the hospital. Carly took the opportunity to officially introduce Jason to his goddaughter, Josslyn John Jacks. After Josslyn was returned to her bassinette, Carly asked Jason how long he had known about Claudia's involvement in Michael's shooting. Instead of answering the question, Jason assured Carly that he had destroyed all of the evidence that would link Michael to Claudia's demise. Carly insisted that it hadn't been Michael's fault; he had acted in defense of her. Jason confessed that he was concerned about Michael. Jason revealed that Michael had not shown any reaction to what had happened. Carly suggested that perhaps Michael was in shock, but Jason shook his head. He explained that even in cases of self-defense, people felt guilty for taking a life. Jason then answered Carly's original question about when he had first learned of Claudia's involvement in the shooting. Jason revealed that on the first anniversary of the shooting, he had encountered Ric Lansing at the warehouse. Ric had told him about Jerry's DVD, but he had not been able to provide Jason with a copy of it. Carly was hurt when she realized that Sonny had also known about Ric's accusation. Jason clarified that they hadn't known anything for certain, which was why Sonny had ordered Jason to find proof of Claudia's wrongdoing. Jason explained that he had recently discovered the evidence, but he couldn't share his findings with Carly because he had been concerned about her health. Jason confessed that he couldn't have lived with himself if anything had happened to Carly or the baby because of what he had learned. Carly understood and quickly forgave Jason. Jason went to the police station to give his statement regarding Claudia's disappearance. He was surprised when Lucky opened the interview by asking Jason what his favorite color was. Lucky wondered if it was black because Jason tended to wear the color almost exclusively. Next, Lucky asked Jason what his favorite kind of music was. Lucky suspected that Jason might lean towards "Emo" music. Jason wondered what any of that had to do with Claudia. Lucky turned serious; he demanded to know where Jason had gone after he had been released following his arrest at Metro Court. Jason claimed that he had searched for Claudia, but didn't elaborate. Lucky assured Jason that anything he shared with him would be off the record; Lucky had already typed up his report about the interview and he had noted in his report that Jason had refused to cooperate. Jason wasn't swayed. Lucky observed that sometimes when people refused to talk they spoke volumes. Lucky confided that their tech people had retrieved the CD from Sonny's office; they knew that Claudia had been plotting to murder Sonny. According to Lucky, had Claudia been alive, they would have had enough evidence to arrest her. Lucky assured Jason that killing Claudia would have been justified under the circumstances. However, Jason covering up what had happened made it appear like murder. Jason admitted that he respected Lucky; however, Claudia was gone and so was any evidence. Jason was confident that eventually Claudia would be forgotten, which was what she deserved. Lucky realized that Jason had not killed Claudia, but he was equally certain that someone else had ended her life. Lucky warned Jason that no matter how well the evidence had been buried, it would find it's way to the surface eventually. Michael went to the penthouse to talk to Jason. Michael was worried because he feared that he might has said too much to Johnny when he had told Johnny that Claudia had gotten what she had deserved. Jason used the opportunity to talk to Michael about the emotional fallout from taking a person's life. Michael revealed that he didn't regret killing Claudia because she had been a dangerous person. 11/9 At the penthouse, Jason tried to talk to Michael about what it meant to take a life. Jason's assumption that Michael might be weighed down by guilt and remorse proved false. Michael said that he felt no regret for killing Claudia. He told Jason that he would do it again if the circumstances were the same. Jason was stunned by Michael's cold attitude. After Michael left, Jason's flashed back to a time when he had held baby Michael in his arms and promised to protect him. He was startled out of his reverie when Sam knocked on the door. Sam told Jason that Lucky had called and wanted her to go down to the station to tell her story about what happened at the cabin. She told Jason that she wanted to make sure that she got her story straight. She said that Lucky knew her very well and could tell when she was lying. Jason surprised Sam when he told her that it might be best for everyone if she just told the truth. Jason feared that Michael was headed down a very destructive path because he felt no remorse for taking a life. Jason blamed himself for putting Michael in a place where he saw violence and intimidation as a way of solving problems. Sam told Jason that he had made the best decision that he could at the time. Jason replied that he could not know what would have happened if he had let Michael live with the Quartermaines, but he was pretty sure that Michael would not have killed anyone. In the apartment of the CO77X artist, the camera panned over photographs that appeared to have been taken inside the cabin before it burned. Photos of Claudia's body on the floor covered in a tarp and pictures of Jason beside the body at the grave where Claudia was buried adorned a wall. The furniture in one part of the room was arranged to look like the cabin. On the floor was a chalk outline of a body in the approximate place where Claudia had lain. 11/10 At the penthouse, Jason talked about the sacrifices that he had made in order to work for the mob. He would never be able to live a normal life. Sam dismissed normal as being overrated. Jason explained that to him, normal meant having a family with children. Jason had never intended for Michael to deal with the violence of the mob lifestyle. Sam insisted that Jason, Sonny, and Carly had always protected Michael, but Jason reminded her that Michael had been kidnapped and shot. Sam argued that Michael had only paid for other people's mistakes, not his own. According to Sam, Michael didn't have a clue about consequences because no one had ever taught Michael the power of making the right choice. When Jason arrived at Carly’s, she threw herself into Jason's arms as she broke down in tears. However, Carly pulled herself together by the time Jason guided her to the sofa. Jason confided that it might have been a mistake to cover up what Michael had done at the cabin. Carly confessed that Jax had voiced a similar concern. Carly decided that she wanted Michael to live with her, not Sonny. Jason agreed that it might be best for Michael. Carly suggested that perhaps they should let the police know where Claudia was buried. Carly was confident that an autopsy would confirm Michael's story. Jason worried that the publicity could ruin Michael's life. Carly realized that Michael would be labeled the "mobster's son who got away with murder." She feared that it might push Michael further into Sonny's world. 11/11 Jason refused to allow Jax to deflect; he reminded Jax that he had merely suspected Claudia of being involved in the shooting, while Jax had confirmation of her guilt. By keeping the knowledge to himself, Jax had endangered everyone. As Jax continued to plead his case to Jason, Carly entered the office. Carly was shocked to see Jax. She immediately suspected that Jax had been trying to enlist Jason's help. Jax didn't deny the accusation; he claimed that he was trying to protect his family. Jax argued that, by covering up what Michael had done to Claudia, Carly was handing Michael to the mob. After Jax left, Carly feared that she might not be able to forgive Jax. Jason believed that if Carly truly wished to save her marriage, she would find a way to move past Jax's betrayal. Carly confessed that she had a tendency to destroy all of her healthy relationships. She wondered if perhaps she was overreacting to what Jax had done. Carly begged Jason to tell her what she should do, but Jason refused. He explained that he had continually urged her to work things out with Sonny, but it had been poor advice. Jason didn't want to repeat his mistakes. Carly respected Jason's decision. She decided that she could start healing her family by fetching Michael from Sonny's house. Carly believed that Michael would be better off living with her. After Carly left, Sam entered the office. She told Jason that she had been working, but the woman that she had been following had given Sam the slip. Jason offered to go to the woman's apartment to search for clues as to her whereabouts, but Sam stopped him. She admitted that she had made up the story, in order to spend time with Jason. Jason smiled as he asked Sam what he was going to do with her. After a passionate kiss, Jason slid Sam's shirt off. They were about to make love when Alexis entered the office. 11/12 Alexis was mortified when she barged into Jason's office to find him locked in a heated embrace with her half-dressed daughter. As Sam scrambled to pull on her shirt, Alexis tried to exit the office. Alexis' embarrassment turned to frustration when she realized that the door was locked. Sam finished dressing and then went to work on picking the door's lock. Alexis babbled about not judging Sam and respecting her privacy. The moment that Sam unlocked the door, Alexis bolted. Sam was curious if what Alexis had walked in on had looked as bad as Sam had imagined. Jason pointed out that they thought that they had been alone. Sam wondered why she and Jason couldn't simply admit that they were in a relationship. Jason revealed that he wanted to be with Sam, but he didn't want to assume anything or expect more than Sam was willing to give to him. Sam made it clear that she didn't want to talk about what had happened in the past; she wanted to remain focused on the moment. The phone rang moments later. It was Carly. Carly informed Jason that Sonny was refusing to send Michael home. She wanted Jason to persuade Sonny to reconsider Michael's living arrangements. After Jason ended the call, Sam realized that Jason had to leave. She urged him to take care of what he needed to. Jason went to Greystone Manor. Sonny wasn't surprised that Carly had called Jason. Jason explained that he would have sought Sonny out even if Carly hadn't called him. Jason revealed that he was worried that the more Michael admired Sonny and Sonny's lifestyle, the more determined Michael would be to follow in Sonny's footsteps. Jason and Sonny were unaware that Michael lurked nearby, eavesdropping on their conversation. Sonny made it clear that he would not allow Michael to join the mob. Sonny wanted Michael to go to college, so that he could have a safe, legitimate career. Until then, Michael needed Sonny's help coping with what had happened to Claudia. Jason was concerned because Michael hadn't shown any remorse for killing Claudia. Sonny suspected that it was Michael's way of dealing with what had happened. Sonny warned Jason that Anthony would make a move against them, in order to avenge Claudia's death. Jason suggested that it was all the more important for Michael to live with Carly. Sonny was reluctant to agree; he worried that it might send the message that he was turning his back on Michael. Sonny didn't think that a father should ever have to tell his son to leave. Jason countered that a good father put his children first; Jason believed that Sonny was a good father. Carly arrived at Greystone Manor to fetch Michael. Sonny explained that Michael had to live with Carly. Michael agreed to honor his parents' wishes out of respect for them. However, Michael reminded Carly, Sonny, and Jason that he would soon be eighteen. When Michael reached adulthood, none of them would be in a position to make decisions for him. As Carly followed Michael out of the house, Sonny observed, "God help him. Michael sounds just like me." 11/13 After a motorcycle ride, Sam and Jason went to Jason's penthouse. Sam wondered if the ride had helped Jason. Jason explained that he had to send a message to Sonny's enemies, but he was worried about the impact that it would have on Michael. Jason feared that a show of power would glorify the mob to Michael. Jason felt like a hypocrite for killing people while demanding better for Michael. Sam suggested that perhaps someone else could carry out the hit. Jason didn't know whom else he could trust with the important job. Moments later, Dominic knocked on the door. After Sam left, Dominic updated Jason about what he had learned regarding Anthony's vendetta. Dominic assured Jason that he was willing to do his part to help. Dominic promised that he was a fast learner. Jason revealed that he might take Dominic up on his offer. Jason entered the warehouse office to find Sonny seated in a chair, deep in thought. Jason revealed that he had put plans in motion, in order to deal with Joey. Sonny told Jason about the meeting with Luke. Sonny cautioned Jason that they had to be careful; they couldn't afford any surprises. At the stalker's warehouse, someone took pictures of a woman who bore a striking resemblance to Claudia, down to the dress that Claudia had worn to her birthday bash. The pictures appeared to be a re-enactment of the moments just after Claudia had died. 11/16 Jason met with Sonny in the office at Sonny's Italian restaurant. He told Sonny that he did not want to kill anymore. Jason worried that he was a bad role model for Michael. Sonny tried to talk Jason out of resigning as his enforcer, but Jason remained firm. He told Sonny that Michael saw that Jason killed people and got away with it. Jason said that getting away with murder was not the example he wanted to be for Michael. Jason insisted that he wanted to set a different standard for Michael. Sonny agreed that he did not want Michael to believe that violence could solve every problem. He told Jason that because of that, he had taken steps to try to make peace with Joey Limbo. Jason was relieved to hear Sonny's plans and to know that Sonny was equally concerned about Michael. Jason was grateful when Sonny accepted his need to resign as enforcer. At the CO77X artist's studio, several photos of the cabin crime scene were displayed on a wallboard. As the camera panned the photos, some showed Jason standing beside an open grave with a body in a tarp nearby. Headlines and pictures of Jason were also prominently displayed. Jason went to Carly to tell her that he had resigned as Sonny's enforcer. Carly said that he did not have to do it, but Jason said he did. He said that he wanted to set a better example for Michael. He told her that the violence was not okay and he did not want Michael to think that violence was the tool of choice to settle problems. Jason told Carly about the proposed truce, and said that he was looking forward to a peaceful settlement between the Zacchara and Corinthos families. Carly told Jason that she had always felt safe because she knew that he was protecting her and her children. She told him that she was grateful that he had been there to care for Michael when she could not and that he had given her a second chance to be a good mother. When Josslyn woke up, they walked over to the bassinet. Carly picked up the baby and handed Josslyn to her "uncle" Jason. Jason held Josslyn and they both admired Carly's precious baby. Jason found mail waiting when he got home to the penthouse. Inside a manila envelope, with no return address, was a photo of what appeared to be the cabin. In the photo, a body covered with a tarp was lying on the floor in the same position that Claudia's had been. 11/17 At the penthouse, Jason stared at the picture that had been sent to him. When Spinelli arrived home, Jason explained that he needed Spinelli's assistance. Spinelli assured Jason that he would keep whatever information Jason shared with him confidential. Jason handed the picture to Spinelli. As Spinelli studied the photo of Claudia's body on the cabin floor, he realized that she was dead. Jason explained that Michael had accidentally killed Claudia and that she had died instantly. Jason insisted that no one was supposed to have known about what had happened, yet someone had managed to snap a picture. Spinelli suspected that the picture might have been taken while Jason and Michael had been waiting for Sonny on the roadside. Jason went to the warehouse to tell Sonny about the picture. As Sonny studied the photograph, he grumbled that even in death, Claudia seemed to cause problems. Sonny worried that the person who had sent the picture knew that Michael had killed Claudia. Jason disagreed; he was certain that the reason the picture had been sent to him was because the sender believed that Jason had done the deed. Sonny ordered Jason to find the person who had sent the picture before the person went to the police with the information. Sonny didn't want the sender to have an opportunity to tell anyone what had happened at the cabin. Spinelli was busy trying to track down information about the picture of Claudia, when Sam arrived at the penthouse. She had good news. While Spinelli busily tapped away on his laptop, Sam revealed that their agency had been hired to oversee the security for an art gallery opening that Kate Howard had arranged. Sam was hopeful that the agency would get great publicity. Spinelli informed Sam that he would be too busy working on a secret project for Jason. Sam was surprised when Spinelli handed her the picture of Claudia and then explained that Jason had received the picture from an anonymous sender. Shortly after Spinelli left, Jason arrived home. Sam was waiting for Jason with the picture in hand. She offered to help him track down the sender. Jason appreciated Sam's support. He was frustrated because he hadn't realized that someone had been lurking near the cabin. Sam feared that the picture was just the beginning of their troubles. At the stalker's warehouse, a Claudia look-alike posed on the floor. She appeared dead until her eyes snapped open and she asked, "Can I get up now?" As the model slipped on a robe, an answering machine picked up a call. It was the stalker's agent, calling to confirm that the art gallery opening had been confirmed for Friday. She didn't understand why the man had wanted to have an exhibit in upstate New York, but she warned him to be a "good boy." She didn't want any trouble like "the last time." 11/18 At the penthouse, Spinelli informed Jason and Sam that he had been able to identify the type of camera that had been used to take the picture of Claudia. Lucky arrived moments later to talk to Jason. Spinelli quickly gathered his things and then left. As Sam started to follow Spinelli out, Lucky stopped her. Lucky confided to Sam that he hoped that her desire to help Jason hadn't landed her in trouble. Sam claimed that Jason hadn't done anything wrong and neither had she. After Jason closed the door behind Sam, he demanded to know what Lucky wanted. Lucky explained that he'd been able to piece together a theory about Claudia's fate, based partly on the evidence that he had collected and partly on speculation. Lucky shared his theory on the events that had led to Claudia's murder. It was surprisingly insightful and accurate. However, Lucky suspected that a crucial piece of information was missing. Lucky was certain that Sonny and Jason were covering up more than Claudia's demise. Jason didn't know what Lucky wanted from him. Lucky clarified that while he was not condoning what Jason had done or looking the other way, he understood what had led to Claudia's death. Lucky admitted that he respected Jason for making the decision to give Jake up. Therefore, Lucky intended to step down from the case because of conflict of interest. Lucky wanted Jason to know that whoever took over the case would run with the evidence that Lucky had gathered. According to Lucky, the evidence pointed to Jason and Sonny as co-conspirators who had covered up Claudia's murder. He warned that Jason and Sonny could be facing murder charges. Elizabeth snapped out of her nightmarish fantasy when Sam called out Elizabeth's name. Elizabeth looked around for Nikolas, but didn't see him. As Sam started to leave, Elizabeth asked Sam to wait. Elizabeth admitted that she had unfairly judged Sam in the past. Elizabeth realized that she had been a hypocrite and that she didn't have any right to cast judgment on anyone. Elizabeth wasn't proud of what she had done; she felt that she owed Sam an apology. Elizabeth understood if Sam didn't want to accept the apology, but she had to let Sam know that she was truly sorry for how she had treated her. Sam didn't respond. A short time later, Sam returned to the penthouse. She was curious how Jason's talk with Lucky had gone. Jason told her that Lucky had tried to warn him. Jason admitted that he would always be grateful to Lucky for raising Jake. Jason could see that Jake loved Lucky. Sam agreed that Lucky was a wonderful father and that he loved Elizabeth. However, Sam wasn't certain that Elizabeth felt the same way about Lucky. Jason seemed surprised by Sam's comment. After Elizabeth collected the picnic lunch from Mike, Lucky entered Kelly's. As Elizabeth and Lucky prepared to leave, Lucky admitted that he had been at Jason's penthouse to follow up on some evidence. Lucky realized that he might have to arrest Jason, so he had decided to step down from the case. Elizabeth was plagued with guilt. As her eyes filled with tears, she tried to work up the courage to tell Lucky about Nikolas, but the words wouldn't come. Lucky assumed that Elizabeth felt guilty for turning to Jason after their marriage had fallen apart. He assured Elizabeth that she didn't need to keep apologizing for the past; he had forgiven her. Lucky felt equally responsible for having hurt Elizabeth with his addiction to drugs and his affair with Maxie. Lucky insisted that their mistakes were in the past and that the power of forgiveness had set them free. At the coffee warehouse, Jason entered his office to find Dominic waiting. Jason informed Dominic that Joey Limbo had gone to see Anthony. Dominic offered to help in any way that he could. Jason explained that Sonny had arranged a meeting with Joey, in order to broker a peace treaty. Jason wanted Dominic at the meeting to make certain that nothing happened. Jason insisted that there had been enough violence; it needed to end. 11/19 At the coffee warehouse, Sonny entered his office to find Jason and Dominic talking about the meeting with Joey. Sonny didn't want any surprises, so he decided to go over their plans. Sonny revealed that they had arranged for the meeting to take place at a brownstone because it was a neutral location. Dominic thought it was a bad idea, but Sonny thought it was important to show good faith. Carly arrived at Jason's penthouse carrying a bag of beer and cheesy snacks. Jason informed her that he had a meeting to attend, so he didn't have time to visit with her. Carly tried to persuade Jason to change his mind, but he insisted that it was an important meeting. Carly was surprised to see a gun case on the desk. Jason explained that the gun was for backup; the meeting was an attempt to broker a truce. Carly admitted that she was worried about Jason. She thought that he was being too hard on himself because of what had happened with Michael. Jason reminded Carly that Michael had killed someone. Jason realized that it had been accidental, but he was concerned because Michael hadn't shown any regret or confusion over the incident. Michael believed that Claudia's death had been necessary, which scared Jason. After Carly put the beer away, she returned to the living room. She tried to get Jason's opinion about Dominic, but he was hesitant to share his thoughts. Carly pushed until Jason revealed that Dominic was ambitious and unlikely to walk away from the mob. Carly realized that she might want to suggest that Lulu stay away from Dominic. Jason reminded Carly that she had ignored similar advice about Sonny. However, Jason warned Carly that if Lulu became involved with Dominic then Lulu would probably end up right in the middle of all of the mob violence. Carly sensed that Jason was upset about more than the meeting and Michael. Jason refused to discuss it. Carly let the matter drop. As she started to leave, she invited Jason to stop by to visit with Josslyn. Jason couldn't believe that Carly would make such an offer after what had happened with Michael. Carly blamed Elizabeth for instilling fear in Jason. Jason argued that Jake was better off without him. He believed that Lucky was a good father. Someone was spray painting "C077X" on a wall while nearby Joey Limbo gave his men last-minute instructions on what to do when Sonny arrived. Joey wanted his men to welcome Sonny with "open arms" the moment that Sonny stepped out of his car. Joey clarified that he didn't want Sonny or Jason to survive the ambush. When Joey spotted the vagrant painting graffiti, he ordered the man to leave. Thinking him harmless, Joey tossed the man some change and then dismissed him from his mind. Sonny, Jason, Dominic, Max, and Milo prepared to meet Joey Limbo. Sonny reminded his men that no one was to shoot unless they had to. This episode featured the song, "Mad World," by Adam Lambert 11/20 Spinelli was working on his laptop when Sam entered the penthouse to see if Spinelli had learned anything new about the photograph. Spinelli explained that the camera that had taken the picture was a popular model, so it was difficult for him to trace it to a specific owner. Sam was disappointed. When Spinelli noticed the time, he realized that he had to meet Maxie at the art gallery. Sam insisted that his work for Jason was more important. Sam volunteered to go to the gallery while Spinelli continued working. Spinelli reluctantly agreed. Joey and his men were gathered outside of the brownstone where Sonny was scheduled to arrive. Joey reminded his men that he wanted Sonny and Jason to be killed. As they prepared to take their places, Joey noticed a vagrant spray painting graffiti nearby. Joey ordered the bum to leave. When the man asked if Joey could spare some change, Joey tossed him a coin and then waited for the vagrant to leave. In Sonny's limousine, Dominic worried that Joey was unpredictable and therefore could not be trusted. Sonny was determined to show good faith. When they arrived at the brownstone, Jason, Max, and Milo stepped out of the vehicle. After they determined that it was safe, Sonny exited the car. Dominic followed Sonny. As Sonny approached the steps leading to the building, Dominic caught a glimpse of one of Joey's men. Dominic grabbed Sonny as he called out a warning. Gunfire erupted as Dominic hustled Sonny back to the limousine. Nearby, the vagrant watched Jason with avid fascination. Max, Milo, and Jason managed to return to the limousine unscathed. Joey and his men weren't as lucky. As the car sped off, the vagrant stepped out onto the sidewalk. When Jason spotted the man, the vagrant smiled and waved to Jason. |
