Jason & Sam #10
March 15
– May 24, 2006 – 8 hours
Sam
surprises Jason by suddenly announcing her intention to become a lawyer. Ric
asks Jason to kill Manny for daring to approach Sonny's young daughter.
Carly
starts to irritate Jason by not telling him what is going on with her. Jason
wants her to leave him alone and stop causing trouble. When he asks her what she
meant when she said that both of them have been lied to by Sonny. Carly lies and
tells him she was just being herself and flying off the handle as usual. Jason
feels she is trying to tell him something but doesn't want to. Jason gets a call
that interrupts their conversation. He talks to one of Sonny's men and finds out
that Sonny still hasn't called. Jason gets very frustrated that Sonny hasn't
returned his messages.
Carly
tells him she was frustrated also because Sonny never returned her messages and
she wanted Sonny to come home and take care of the boys so she could spend more
time at the hospital with baby John. Jason gets tired when Carly starts telling
him how great Jax is and how he had no right to have Max spy on her with Jax.
Jason tells her that he doesn't have an opinion of Jax either way and will leave
her to do what she pleases with Jax. Carly doesn't tell him that she strongly
believes that Sonny and Emily went away somewhere secretly together. Jason makes
Carly leave his place and escorts her onto the elevator as she tries to defend
Jax to him.
Sam
sits at Kelly's working on preparing to go to law school someday. Ric comes into
Kelly's and sees her. He approaches her table. Sam tells him she isn't in the
mood to talk to him right now. Ric tells her that she needs to help save
Kristina's life once more by convincing Jason to kill Manny so he is no longer a
threat to Kristina. Sam tells him off for even asking her for a favor after he
and Alexis got Manny off with a slap on the wrist and twisted her testimony to
do it. Sam tells him that Jason is going to do what he wants to do without her
influence.
Alexis
walks in just as Sam suggests to Ric that he leave town with his family to
protect them and she will be happy to help them find a place to move. Alexis
approaches them and asks her if she is a travel agent now. Sam tells her that
Ric just asked her to convince Jason to kill Manny for him because Manny
apparently is a threat to Kristina because he talked to her outside earlier.
Alexis doesn't know what to think when she learns that Ric asked Jason to kill
Manny for him earlier. Sam tells them both off again for getting Manny off and
having the nerve to ask her a favor.
Sam
leaves with her things and heads back to the penthouse. She tells Jason about
her run-in with Ric and Alexis. Jason wonders if it would be better if Sam just
told Alexis the truth because she will not be able to avoid her when they both
live in the same town. Sam isn't so sure she wants to do that since she feels
that Alexis will just apologize and then blame others for why she had to give
her up. Jason tells her she shouldn't be so sure of Alexis' reaction to the
truth.
Jason
gets a call from Sonny informing him he is home now. Jason is irritated with
Sonny and tells him he has a lot to tell him and will be showing up there in
person soon. Jason tells Sam that he thinks that Sonny has a right to know about
Alexis being her mother and he wants to tell him. Sam isn't sure about that but
agrees that Jason should tell him if he thinks that Sonny has a right to know.
Jason is worried about leaving her alone right now but she assures him she is
fine being alone for a while.
Later,
Alexis shows up at Sam's. She asks to come in and talk to her. Sam lets her in.
Alexis tells her that she came by to ask her if they could at least be civil
toward each other in public even if they will never be able to be friends. Sam
asks her what she wants from her. Alexis tells her peace. Sam is ready to
respond to that but Alexis looks over at the desk and notices the law
schoolbooks and asks Sam about them. Sam tells her that she is thinking of
attending law school.
Alexis
tells her she thinks it is a great idea but warns her how difficult it could be
to get in. Sam thinks Alexis is implying that she is not smart enough to go to
law school. Alexis tells her that she doesn't think that at all. Sam tells her
that she is smart enough to go to law school and that her mother was a brilliant
woman even if she was a selfish, self-righteous bitch. Alexis doesn't realize
that Sam is really referring to Alexis and not her adopted mother.
Jason
shows up at Sonny's and heads over to the door leading into the living room
where they are kissing. Max takes desperate measures to prevent Jason from
walking in on a kiss between Emily and Sonny. Alexis drops by the penthouse to
offer Sam an olive branch. Faced with Sam's persistent hostility, Alexis
declares that she regrets trying to make peace with the girl.
Jason
warns Sonny that Carly might be falling for Jax. After Jason hesitantly reveals
Sam's shocking connection to Alexis, Sonny is sickened to realize that he
impregnated both a mother and her daughter. Jason assures a badly shaken Sonny
that no one will ever know about his inadvertent indiscretion.
As
Emily lies on the couch, she hears footsteps approaching and closes her eyes.
She says that she's not going to open them until she gets a kiss. Unfortunately,
it is not Sonny but Jason who has walked in on her. She makes an excuse that her
and Morgan were playing Sleeping Beauty and he acts like he buys it. She makes a
point of telling him that she came over to see the boys because they missed her.
Jason asks her about her trip out of town, and she lies and tells him she went
to a spa with a friend from college. Jason lets it slide and leaves.
Sonny
and Sam run into Alexis on the docks. Sam starts to badger her mother, but Sonny
steps in and gets her to leave. Alexis is furious with Sonny for allowing Carly
to be Kristina's guardian should something happen to both of them. Sonny can't
get over the fact that Alexis is Sam's mother, though, and tells her they will
talk about it later. He goes back to Jason and Sam's penthouse to talk to Sam.
He wants her to keep her mother a secret because Kristina won't understand. Sam
tells him to leave Kristina out of it, because Alexis is always bringing her
into arguments. They agree that Sam's mother should be kept a secret.
When
Jason gets back he tells Sonny that he was just over at his place and Emily was
there. Sonny tells him that the boys have really missed her so she came to see
them. The atmosphere is very tense as Jason asks about Sonny's trip to Puerto
Rico and whether or not he got his messages about Manny.
After
Sonny leaves, Jason tells Sam that Emily and Sonny both lied to his face. He
tells her about running into Emily and how he knows they're sleeping together.
Sam tries to get him to understand that maybe it's not such a bad thing. Jason
tells her that Sonny gets depressed and gets violent and loses himself. If he
hurts his sister, he will have to kill him.
Sonny
and Jason run into each other at church (Sonny is coming out of a confessional
as Jason sits in one of the pews). They talk about Sonny's past of hurting
people, and Sonny asks him if they are talking about Emily? Sonny continues to
lie to Jason and tells him that he and Emily are over.
Later,
Jason finds Emily on the docks. He tells her that if she is close to Sonny, then
Manny could come after her. She tells him that she used to worry about him, too,
but he always told her not to worry. Jason tells her no matter what she wants,
he is going to protect her.
Jason
awakens from a nightmare about Sonny and Emily to the phone ringing, it's
Michael. He couldn't go on a field trip, because his dad forgot to sign the
permission slip and no one can find Sonny. Jason arrives at Sonny's place and he
finds Benny's twin brother there and starts making financial decisions for
Sonny. Benny starts to question him, but Jason tells him that when Sonny is gone
he is in charge. Carly shows up after hearing about Michael, and she and Jason
figure out that Sonny and Emily have run off somewhere together.
Jason
gets suspicious when Carly seems to know something about where Sonny took off to
earlier and won't tell him. Carly tells him it is best sometimes not to ask
questions and to leave things alone. Sonny and Emily come home and overhear
Jason and Carly arguing. Sonny comes into the room and asks them what is going
on? Carly acts nervous around Sonny and is apologetic about not handling the
whole field trip thing with Michael and leaving it to him to take care of.
Jason
watches Carly and doesn't know what is going on with her but he knows she is
lying about something. Sonny wonders what is going on with her when she suddenly
takes off. Jason tells him that Carly has been spending a lot of time helping to
take care of baby John and probably wants to keep the peace right now.
Jason
tells him that he told their new accountant, Bernie (Bennie's look alike twin
brother) what to do with the accounts in the Cayman Islands. Sonny is annoyed
and asks Jason why he didn't call him and ask him first before making a move
with the accounts. Jason tells him he couldn't reach him by cell-phone and had
to be in charge while he was gone. Sonny is still annoyed with Jason but backs
off.
Sam
ran into Alexis and Kristina in Kelly's on her way out. Kristina invited Sam to
join them for a tea party and asked Sam to pretend to be her sister since Molly
is too small to play. Sam thanks her but tells her she has to get back home and
she is working on being a lawyer someday. Kristina tells Sam that she wants to
be a lawyer when she grows up just like her mother. Sam left and headed back to
her penthouse.
When
Carly shows up without knocking Sam gets annoyed with her and asks her what she
wants. Carly tells her she needs her help with Jason. Sam asks her what she
needs her to do. Carly tells her that she is worried about Jason because of what
Sonny and Emily are doing secretly. She tells Sam she wants her to talk to Jason
and get him to back off of Sonny and Emily before it ruins their friendship. Sam
tells Carly off for causing this problem to begin with when she got upset about
Sonny and Emily and warned them all to stay away from each other. Sam listens to
Carly in the end.
Jason
comes home to find Sam all dressed up in an evening gown. She tells him about
Carly's visit. She says she has to agree with Carly about him interfering in
Sonny's relationship with Emily. She asks him to back off of Sonny and Emily for
a while. Jason agrees to do it for her for a little while and let it go. Sam
asks him to take her to Luke's party at the casino to keep his mind off of Sonny
and Emily. He agrees but Sam can't convince him to lose the gun.
The
residents of Port Charles show up at the grand re-opening of the Haunted Star to
celebrate. When they arrive, they head over to talk to Sonny. While Sam goes off
to get drinks, Sonny tells Jason that Bernie is under strict orders to never
take financial instructions from him again without first speaking to Sonny.
Sam
and Alexis go at each other's throats. Sam almost slips and tells Alexis that
she is her mother, and Sonny can't take the pressure anymore and goes home.
Emily makes an excuse to leave early to finish up a lab report. Jason watches
her leave, knowing she is going to Sonny. He decides to follow her and steps up
to the outside door of Sonny's place just as Emily and Sonny are kissing.
Sam
is back at home when Ric knocks on the door. He wants to come to her and make
peace so that her and Alexis can at least live in the same city without
fighting. Sam wants nothing to do with a truce, though.
Jason
walks away unseen after witnessing a kiss between Sonny and Emily. Jason goes
back to his apartment and finds Ric badgering Sam. He attacks him and Ric
leaves.
Sam
tries to console Jason. He admits that he saw Sonny and Emily together. He knows
they probably think there is a good reason for keeping their relationship a
secret from him, but it doesn't make him feel any better. They are lying to him,
and he no longer owes Sonny anything. They fall asleep on the couch together.
Jason wakes up after having a nightmare about Sonny beating Emily and Jason
drawing his gun on his best friend.
Sam
goes to Kelly's to study, but accidentally leaves one of her books there. She
happens to go into the Metro Court and overhear Carly and Alexis' argument. She
rushes out and Carly sees her leaving. Ric runs into Sam as she's rushing out of
the Metro Court where she drops her paperwork. It doesn't appear that Ric saw
the file on Alexis.
Later,
when Sam gets back to the penthouse, Mike calls her and tells her he has her
science book. She goes to pick it up, leaving all her other books and the file
on Alexis sitting on the desk. In her haste, she forgets to latch the door.
Carly
comes by to see Jason and walks on in when she sees the door open. She starts to
leave Jason a note and picks up a notepad from the desk. When she does so, she
notices the file on Alexis and puts two and two together to figures out that Sam
is Alexis' daughter.
Liz
tells Jason about Lucky's plan to bust Manny. He asks her what she wants him to
do about it, and she tells him to do whatever possible to keep Lucky safe. Later,
Alcazar stops by Sonny's place and talks to Jason since Sonny is MIA. He tells
Jason that he wants a truce.
Carly
gleefully informs Jason that she knows Sam is Alexis' daughter. Ric finds Sam
trailing Alexis and Kristina through the park and accuses her of spying on his
wife. Ric threatens to take out a restraining order against Sam if he catches
her stalking Alexis again.
Unaware
that Jason is on to her, Emily continues to lie to her outraged brother. Sonny
orders an irked Jason not to put a hit on Alcazar. Later at the carnival, chaos
reigns at the carnival as Manny's goon opens fire.
Alexis
nicely asks Sam to stop following and spying on her. She also asks her to keep
Jason away from Ric and her. Carly shows up outside Kelly's and finds them
talking. Carly makes a remark that Alexis is with her daughter. Sam finds the
remark to be sort of odd but doesn't say anything. Carly clarifies that she was
referring to the fact that Alexis brought Kristina to Kelly's.
She
suggests that Alexis arrange a play date for Kristina and her brothers soon and
not let the friction between them affect the kids. Alexis tells her that she
will do that soon but asks her to leave since she interrupted a private
conversation she was having with Sam. Carly doesn't really leave and Alexis ends
up going back inside Kelly's after warning Sam to stay away from her or she will
have to call the police and get a restraining order against her.
Carly
confesses to Sam that she found the file that shows that Alexis is her birth
mother. Sam gets upset with her for snooping around her apartment without
consent. Carly tells her the door was partly open and she came to see Jason. Sam
doesn't want to discuss it with her. Carly tells Sam that usually she wouldn't
ever agree with Alexis but that in this instance she is right and warns Sam to
stay away from her or Alexis will find out she is her daughter.
Carly
follows Sam home to continue the discussion. Sam is surprised when Carly tells
her that she was given up for adoption by her mother and that she was very angry
with her and wanted to pay her back. Sam tells her that her circumstance is
different because Carly's mother Bobbie turned out to be a kind, warm-hearted
woman unlike Alexis. Carly tells her that she predicts that Sam will end up
trying to find the good in Alexis and soon she will let Alexis know the truth
and then Alexis will want to control her life which will harm her relationship
with Jason and she will end up losing him. Carly suggests she forget all about
Alexis and concentrate on moving on with her life with Jason.
Sonny
gets upset with Jason for not notifying him about Alcazar's visit earlier and
for making decisions for him without his presence. Jason argues that Sonny has
been unreachable and he needed to make a decision about Alcazar for him. He
doesn't believe Alcazar was sincere about calling a truce with Sonny since he
has evidence that links Alcazar with helping Manny.
Sonny
jumps down Jason's throat and reminds him that he is in charge and Jason needs
to do what he does best, follow orders. Sonny also tells Jason that he can see
the big picture and Jason can't. Jason doesn't believe Alcazar should be
trusted. Sonny thinks Alcazar could have changed because of Skye's pregnancy
just like he changed when he became a father.
Sonny
and Jason are arguing still when the cops show up at Sonny's and ask them to
come with them for questioning in relation to the shooting at the park tonight.
Sonny and Jason go with them to the park. Mac questions them about the shooting
and how Diego was the target tonight. Sonny and Jason tell Mac they had nothing
to do with the shooting. Mac warns them that he will not tolerate another mob
war between them and Alcazar and that because one of his own was shot it has
made him more motivated to get whoever was behind the shooting. Sonny tells Mac
that he doesn't shoot kids and that he knows that. Mac believes him and lets
them go for now.
Elizabeth
talks to Jason about their conversation earlier that day about wanting to
protect Lucky by having Jason take care of Manny so Lucky won't have to go after
him. Jason assures her he didn’t have anything to do with the shooting at the
park.
Jason
goes home and Sam tells him about Carly knowing their secret now. Jason tells
her about the shooting at the park and how Jesse was shot and is in critical
condition. He also complains that Sonny is too preoccupied with Emily to pay
attention to how much of a threat Manny and Alcazar is to them.
Shaken
by another nightmare about killing Sonny, Jason tells Sam he's assigning her an
extra guard. Monica stops by the penthouse to tell Jason why she suspects Emily
has been sneaking off to be with Sonny. Jason jumps to the wrong conclusion
after seeing broken glass spread all over the Corinthos living room. Jason
arrives at the Cosmopolitan just in time to prevent a hit on Sonny.
After
killing the would-be assassin, Jason cautions Sonny and Emily not to taint the
crime scene by moving anything until the police arrive.
Sonny and Jason wind up staring
across the table at one another in the same interrogation room at the precinct
house.
Sam
suggests to an angry Jason that he's partly to blame for his sister being forced
to sneak around to be with the man she loves. Alexis overhears Sam asking Justus
to keep his client in lock-up overnight so Jason will have time to cool down.
Emily
returns to the precinct house for a talk with her brother. A weeping Emily
informs Jason he's hurt her more than she ever could have imagined, but he
counters by reminding his sister he loves her too much to watch her become the
next in a long line of Sonny's victims. Jason furiously warns Emily to learn her
lesson well or be prepared to dodge bullets time and time again. Emily
refuses to listen to Jason's words of warning.
Sam
and Alexis become trapped together in a locked room at the courthouse. Alexis
urges a bristling Sam to find herself a man who's not connected in any way,
shape or form to organized crime. Later, as Alexis shares a painful chapter from
her past, Sam finally hears the story of her true origins for the first time
Alexis sadly discloses to a stunned Sam how she and Ric went searching for the
daughter she was forced to give away but discovered that the girl was dead.
Elizabeth
shows up after seeing the paper to lend her moral support. Emily tells Elizabeth
that she is more upset with the fact that Jason has shut her out of his life
after she went to see him the day before. Elizabeth thinks Jason is afraid for
the first time and is handling it badly.
Elizabeth
goes to see Jason to tell him how heartbroken Emily is over what has happened
between them. She asks him to accept Emily’s relationship with Sonny. Jason
tells her he can't do that. Later, Carly shows up at the hospital and orders
Elizabeth to tell Emily to break things off with Sonny because she is her best
friend and will listen to her. Elizabeth tells her that she went to see Jason
and realizes that Jason has never been afraid for anyone before until now and
that he is handling badly. She tells Carly that she has no intention of telling
Emily what to do.
Alexis
ends up at the police station later just as Sam asks to see Jason after Durant
tries to persuade Jason to turn in evidence against Sonny to send him to prison
to keep him away from Emily. Jason hollers at him that he wants to see his
lawyer. Durant lets Sam see Jason alone. Sam tells Jason that she stayed in the
waiting area all night and didn't sleep at all. She asks Jason if they can wait
and talk at home. Jason isn't too happy with her for sending Justus away so he
would cool off in the jail cell all night. She wishes he would wait and talk
with her at home. Jason tells her he doesn't want to go home right now and talk
and asks her to go home alone. Sam leaves the visiting room and Alexis notices
how upset she is and how angry Jason still seems at her.
Alexis
goes to Kelly's to pick something up. Sam is there studying. She approaches
Alexis and smiles at her in a friendly manner for a change after their talk the
day before. She tells Alexis she found her eyeglasses at the courthouse and that
she forgot them there. Alexis thanks her and admits she is forgetful about
everything in her purse. Sam turns around to head back to her table. Alexis
stops her and mentions that she couldn't help but notice the exchange between
Jason and her and suggests someone she could go to concerning domestic violence.
Sam
gets annoyed and upset with her again and insists that Jason has not been
violent toward her ever and that he is very gentle. Alexis still jumps to the
conclusion that Jason is abusive because he yelled at her a couple of times the
last two days. Sam tells her that Jason is upset right now because he is afraid
for Emily and that they are fine. Sam tells Alexis off and asks her to stay out
of their relationship and leaves with her study books. She goes home.
Jason
is released by Durant and goes home. He finds Sam alone studying. He tells her
he was released by Durant and apologizes to her for taking out his frustrations
on her when she was only trying to protect him and keep him away from Sonny for
now. Sam apologizes for trying to do something for his own good without asking
him. He tells her he loves her and kisses her. Sam suggests they go upstairs and
take a nap since neither of them got much sleep last night. He tells her he has
something to do and will be home later to join her. She goes upstairs and he
takes out his strong box and pulls out his gun and loads it. He leaves the
apartment.
Kneeling
at her baby girl's grave, Sam wonders if she should reveal her true identity to
Alexis. Sam confides her secret to the local priest.
Carly explains to Jason why she
fears he'll be hurt if he doesn't stop trying to break his sister and Sonny
apart. Lucky, Lorenzo and Jason all converge on Manny's room after learning that
he didn't finish his shift at the hospital.
At
the cemetery, Father Coates advised Sam to tell Alexis the truth about their
origins, and as Sam considered it, Alexis arrived with flowers for Sam's baby's
grave. The women agreed they enjoyed their heart-to-heart talk the other night,
but as soon as Alexis mentioned "abusive" Jason, Sam lost her temper.
She told Alexis that Jason was the best thing that ever happened to her and
stormed off.
Alarmed
to see Manny creeping up behind Skye with a knife, Elizabeth intervenes just in
the nick of time. Manny grabs Liz as she was fleeing and held a knife to her
throat. Lucky arrived and pointed his gun at Manny. However, when Manny
threatened to cut Liz's throat, Lucky lowered his weapon. Lucky volunteered to
be Ruiz's hostage, but Manny said no way, Skye called 9-1-1. The cops arrived,
while Manny held Liz captive in the stairwell.
Sonny
advised Jason that they remain rational and not say or do anything that they
can't take back. Sonny admitted responsibility for lying, then chewed out Jason
for his shabby treatment of Emily. Monica called and told Jason about Manny
kidnapping Elizabeth. Jason headed out, but told Sonny that it's Corinthos'
fault that Manny's on a rampage because Sonny has been neglecting his business.
Jason
arrived at the hospital and got in on the search, while Manny put Liz in a body
bag and planned to take her out of the hospital through the morgue. As Manny
apologized to Liz, she located her cell phone. Manny made it out with his
hostage, and later at the pier, she dialed Lucky's cell. Manny caught her, took
the phone and told Lucky to come and get him. Liz screamed it was a trap, but
Lucky didn't care. Lucky left the hospital without telling Mac what was going
down.
Epiphany
told Jason that Manny had been talking to the other janitor a lot lately. With
Epiphany's help, Jason "coerced" Manny's locale out of the operative.
Lucky showed up at the pier, but was seriously injured during a fight with the
criminal. Manny threatened to kill Lucky, but allowed him to live because
Elizabeth had been kind to him. Just as he was taking her away, Jason showed up
with his gun drawn.
Jason
took a shot at Manny when Elizabeth ducked. Manny went off the pier and Jason
continued to fire on him, blowing up a boat. Elizabeth called 911 and told Lucky
not to move because he could do more damage. Lucky was then wheeled into the ER
and was prepped for surgery. Jason arrived at GH and comforted Elizabeth. She
told him that Lucky is seriously injured and is in a lot of pain.
Nikolas
questioned Sam at Jason's penthouse about the file he spotted on her desk of
Alexis. Sam made up a story about hoping to blackmail Alexis for taking her
family away from her. Sam told him that she and Alexis had a heart-to-heart the
other night and even though she doesn't like Alexis, she now understands her
more.
Sam
then heads to Sonny's compound to talk with him about Jason. Sonny told her that
Jason is turning into a monster because of his anger over him and Emily's affair
and that if they don't reach a compromise someone will get killed.
Detective
Rodriquez phoned Jason and told him there was no sign of Manny's body. Sam came
home, and Jason lectured her about going out alone. Jason told her that Sonny is
distracted and is making mistakes and that's why Manny is still free. He told
her that he has to take action against Sonny.
Emily
explains to Jason why she can't walk away from the man she loves. Carly coaxes
Jason to join her for a picnic with Michael and Morgan. Out of her sons'
earshot, Carly pleads with her irritated old friend not to go up against the
boys' father.
Jason
shows up at Sonny's mansion with a bunch of men. Max just sees the men coming in
and taking all of Sonny's files and computer without saying a word. Max goes to
the phone in the other room to call Sonny to tell him what is going on. Jason
pushes the receiver button down and stops the call going through.
Max
is hurt by Jason's actions and wants to know why Jason is doing this to Sonny.
Jason tells him that he will knock him out or he can tie him up so Sonny won't
think he had anything to do with it. He tells Max that he won't be angry with
him for being loyal to Sonny. Max decides to let Jason tie him to a chair.
While
Jason oversees taking over Sonny's business Ric shows up and finds out what he
is up to. Ric wants to know why Jason is doing this to Sonny. Ric gets in his
face about his betrayal and the irony of it. Jason tries to dismiss Ric but he
can't so easily. Ric warns him of what will happen if he goes after Sonny like
this. Jason doesn't want to hear it. Ric leaves.
Carly
finds Jason clearing up files out of Sonny's place and taking over. Carly pleads
with him not to try and take over Sonny's business or Sonny will end up having
to retaliate against him to protect his business. Jason feels he has no choice
since Sonny isn't protecting his sister with his actions lately. Carly thinks it
will cause more trouble if he does what he plans to do. Jason yells at her and
tells her he has made up his mind and she can't stop him.
Carly
goes over to the phone and calls the "Island." Jason tells her that he
already told Enrique not to disturb Sonny or take calls for him. Jason looked on
as Carly called Enrique and demanded to talk to Sonny. When Sonny answered,
Carly hung up. She explained to Jason that she couldn't tell Sonny the news
because Jason is her best friend. Jason said he was doing what he had to do to
protect Emily. Carly cautioned that Sonny needs his business and begged him not
to do this. "It's already done," barked Jason. "I can't back down
now." Before leaving, Carly told Jason she'd help him clean up the mess his
actions would inevitably make.
A
weeping Liz ran into a pensive Jason on the docks. "Is it Lucky?" he
asked of her dark mood. She explained Lucky's predicament and he volunteered the
necessary funds. She declined. Jason resonated with Liz when she described how
she feels like lately, her life has been one step forward and one step back and
there's nothing she can do to change it. Jason then informed Liz that he was
taking over Sonny's business and that if Sonny wanted it back, he'd have to give
up Emily. Liz was worried about all that Jason was giving up in his effort to
protect Em. Jason asked Liz to be there for Emily through the turmoil that was
surely to come.
Jason
came to Sonny's house and was surprised to see the kids there. Sonny had
prepared a giant feast for him, Michael and Morgan. Jason took a seat at the
table as Sonny proposed a toast to friendship.
Blissfully unaware of the
rising tension between his dad and his uncle, Michael enjoys a boys' night in
with Morgan, Sonny and Jason. After his sons depart, Sonny coldly informs Jason
they are now enemies. Jason reminds Sonny he can have his empire back if he
gives Emily up. Sonny punches him and his mouth bleeds.
#10B
Sonny demands his business returned. With their quarrel escalating, Sonny
punches Jason just as Emily arrives and attempts to intervene. Outraged when
Sonny accidentally shoves Emily to the ground, Jason grabs his former friend and
begins to choke him. Emily orders Jason to leave the compound. Sonny warns a
shuddering Emily that he must take steps to deal with Jason's betrayal. Jason
admits to Carly how he lost control and nearly killed Sonny.
Jason
spends the night on Carly's couch. In the morning, Michael notices the bruise on
his uncle's face and boasts to Jax that Jason must have pulverized whoever he
was fighting with. Sam fills Monica in on the escalating war between Jason and
Sonny. Jason assures a tearful Sam that he loves her.
Sam
isn't pleased when Jason uses their home to conduct business. Miguel Escobar,
the mobster shows up to meet with Jason in the back room. She decides to head to
Kelly's to study. She gets a table and sees Ric watching her. She sits down and
Ric approaches her and sits down too. He asks her how she is doing now that
Jason has taken over Sonny's business. She isn't too happy about him bothering
her about it. He annoys her more when he comes up with a theory that Jason has
been waiting for his chance to take over Sonny's business and that Emily gave
him the reason to do it.
Sam
tells Ric that Jason loves Sonny and wants to protect him and that he has no
hidden agenda unlike Ric. Ric admits he came to town to destroy Sonny at first
but that he is his brother and is willing to help him keep his business. He
warns Sam to watch out because Jason could be in trouble. Sam leaves Kelly's and
someone unknown snaps her picture outside Kelly's.
She
goes back home to find Bernie, the new accountant underfoot and getting in her
way. She reminds him that this is her home also and that she doesn't appreciate
him being near her all the time. Michael shows up with an invitation for Jason
and Sam to attend Sonny's birthday party. Sam tells him that Jason may be too
busy today to go to the party. Michael is confident that Jason will show up for
the party when he knows how important it is to him. Sam shows the invitation to
Bernie and asks him to give it to Jason but doesn't think he will show up at the
party so she is going to go instead. Bernie throws the invitation away without
showing it to Jason at all.
Expecting
to find the heads of the other crime families at the compound, Sonny is
surprised to walk in instead on a birthday party in his honor. Sam shows up at
the party in Jason’s place. Miguel reminds Jason why it's in his own best
interest to eliminate Sonny as soon as possible. Sam warns her lover that he
cannot trust Escobar. Sonny gets a chilly reception when he crashes a meeting of
the heads of the other crime families. Outside, Jason draws a bead on his former
boss with a high-powered rifle.
At
the crime family meeting, a shot rang out. Sonny reached to the blood on his
jacket, but it wasn't his blood, it was Escobar's. The other family heads noted
that since Sonny is under Jason's protection now, Corinthos won't get hurt.
Ric
went to the penthouse and advised Sam to get Jason to back off from Sonny before
it's too late. Sam countered by saying if Ric doesn't get Sonny to cool off,
Corinthos may be the one who ends up dead. When Detective Rodriguez showed up,
Sam said Jason wasn't home, but he countered that he wasn't looking for Morgan.
He wanted to talk to her.
Sam
was brought in to the PCPD for questioning, Alexis advised Sam not to say
anything to the police and that now is the time for her to leave Jason. Sam
appreciated the concern, but refused to abandon her man. Jason sent a
message via Bernie to Sonny saying that he'd continue to protect him and his
family, but he is not to participate in any more business activities.
Sam
showed up at Sonny's, saying no one knows where Jason is at the moment. Sonny
was not pleased. Sam explained that Alexis helped get her out of the police
station, and that Jason never got a message to meet him. Sonny refused to accept
the fact that Jason no longer works for him, and threatened to kill Jason if he
doesn't listen and adhere to Sonny's wishes.
Sam
shows up at Sonny's right after Carly gets there. Sam yells at Sonny and accuses
him of betraying Jason by lying to the police about seeing Jason kill Escobar.
Carly defends Sonny to Sam and tells her that Sonny would never call the cops on
Jason and have him arrested. Sam notices that Sonny isn't saying anything and
that means he is guilty.
Ric
and Sonny arrive at the police station. Justus is meeting with Jason at the same
time. He tells Jason that an eyewitness signed a statement saying he/she saw him
shoot and kill Escobar. Jason tells Justus that whoever that person was, he is
lying. Durant greets Ric and Sonny. He tells Sonny that he needs him to identify
Jason as the killer in order to keep him in custody. Sonny doesn't want to do
this but realizes he has to keep Jason in jail in order to take his business
back. Jason comes out of the visitor's room and sees Sonny. Sonny tells Durant
that Jason is the killer.
Carly
kicked off the Tony Jones Surgical Wing fund-raiser. Various gents appeared on
stage to be auctioned off to the ladies. The women made their selections:
Elizabeth got Alcazar, Georgie was with Noah, Lulu selected Dillon, Emily chose
Patrick, Sam picked Ric, Maxie got Diego, Robin ended up with Jax and Bobbie
paired off with Nikolas.
Durant
called Sonny to report that Jason was released. Sonny contacted an armed
associate and told him to get ready, and then Sonny waited in the dark with a
pistol. Someone showed up at his door, it was Michael. When the boy asked why
his dad was mad at Jason, Sonny tried to explain. After Michael was upstairs,
Sonny placed another call to his associate. There was no answer, so he left an
urgent message instructing that the hit is off.
Jason
showed up outside the auction, a delighted Sam made a beeline to him. Someone
with a gun was watching them, the little red laser dot, was aimed right at
Jason. Sam made her way to him and they embraced. Suddenly, Jason looked up with
a stunned _expression and it is revealed that the back of Sam's pretty white
party dress was stained with blood.
Sam
is rushed to General Hospital and it looks like Sonny might be responsible for
the hit. Sam is rushed
into surgery. Liz gives Jason some consent forms to sign, which includes
authorizing the doctors to perform a hysterectomy if it's deemed necessary to
save Sam's life. Jason tells Liz that the bullet was intended for him.
Emily
rushes over to Sonny's to confront him about the shooting. Sonny is stunned to
hear that Sam was shot. He attempts to explain that he tried to call off the hit
but Emily points out that he failed and Sam was shot during the bachelor
auction. This bit of information confuses sonny. Sonny is interrupted by a call
from the hit man he hired. The hit man shocks Sonny with the news that he
received Sonny's messages and did not carry out the hit. Sonny asks him about
Sam's shooting and the hit man explains that he wasn't anywhere near the hotel.
As
arranged, the hit man intended to shoot Jason from his spot across from the
penthouse. Sonny gets off of the phone and tells Emily. She doesn't think any of
it matters. The point is that Sonny put a hit on Jason. Emily decides that she
can't be with a man who would plan to kill her brother, even if he later changed
his mind. Sonny agrees that their relationship needs to end because obviously
there's someone out there targeting those close to him.
Sonny's
goes to the hospital to talk to Jason. Jason takes one look at Sonny and
suggests that he go home and say goodbye to his family.
Manny returns to his hide out
and brings up a picture of Sam, which he then deletes.
Explaining
that he didn't send the gunman who shot Sam, Sonny admits to Jason how he
ordered a hit but then realized he could never live with himself if he caused
the murder of his best friend. After Jason confides how he still admires and
respects him, Sonny throws in the towel and declares he's backing down from
trying to regain his lost territory. Sam
briefly regains consciousness, and then is rushed back into the OR for a second
surgery.
Out
of surgery, Sam dreamed about Alexis again, telling a stricken Jason, "She
said she wanted me."
"Don't
worry, I'm tough," Sam told a worried Jason. A groggy Sam interrupted
Alexis questioning Jason about the shooting. "Sam wasn't the target,
Alexis. I was," Jason hissed, admitting he'd put Sam in the line of fire.
Alexis had worried this would happen.
Kelly
chastised Alexis for questioning a critical Sam and then told Jason that Sam's
test results weren't so great. Sam awoke again, asking about her test results.
Sam's blood wasn't clotting properly and Jason was scared. Sam admitted she'd
almost told Alexis she's her daughter.
Jason
sits by Sam's bedside in I.C.U. He suggests to Sam that she tell Alexis that she
is her mother if she wants to. Sam tells him that she doesn't want to tell
Alexis the truth unless she knows she is dying. Sam notices how worried Jason
looks and asks him if she is dying. Jason tells her she isn't dying and she will
get better. Epiphany comes in and gives her another blood transfusion.
Monica
comes by to check on Sam. She steps outside her room to talk to Jason. She tells
him that Sam is not doing better and her condition is serious. Jason asks her to
sit with Sam until he gets back in case she wakes up and he doesn't want her to
be alone. Monica sits with her and listens to her talk in her sleep. Sam wakes
up to find Monica sitting with her. Monica asks her if she was dreaming about
her mother because she said mother several times in her sleep. Sam doesn't tell
her Alexis is her mother and tells her that she doesn't have a mother anymore.
Dr. Lee reluctantly delivers
bad news to Jason concerning his fiancée’s test results. Monica gently
informs a tearful Jason that Sam doesn't have long to live. Later, Jason decides
the time has come for Alexis to hear the truth.
Though
Alexis reminds him that her eldest daughter died years ago, Jason repeats his
insistence that Sam is the child she gave away. Lucky again complains to his
brother about Elizabeth lying and sneaking around behind his back. As Jason's
story begins to sink in, Alexis is stunned to realize that her father
undoubtedly forged the death certificate she found in the adoption file.
Growing
steadily weaker, Sam asks Monica and Emily to watch over Jason for her. Alexis
accompanies Jason back to the hospital to sit with her dying daughter. Clinging
to Alexis' hand, a tearful Sam thanks Jason for bringing her mother to her. An
agitated Alexis pushes Dr. Lee to find a way to help Sam.
Jason
is waiting by Sam's bedside when Elizabeth comes in to start Sam's transfusion.
She notices that Sam's blood pressure is up and seems to be holding. Jason
is sitting by Sam's bedside when Dr. Lee enters the room. Jason proceeds to
update Alexis on the change in Sam's blood pressure. Dr. Lee informs all that
Sam is stabilizing and is on her way to a full recovery.
Mayor
Floyd approaches Elizabeth asking for Sam's room number. Stan intervenes and
offers to take him there. Epiphany stops Stan in his tracks and asks her son
what he's up to. Epiphany is amused by Elizabeth's shock, knowing that she seems
non-maternal. She informs Elizabeth that her son had great potential and wasted
it by becoming involved with the mob.
Dr.
Lee tells the Jason and Alexis that the Intra-cerebral Edema with proximal
spinal cord compression is potentially fatal. She informs the two that Sam is
not feeling any pain, and that she will start the medications immediately. Stan
privately informs Jason about some new activity in their territory. Jason
informs Stan that should Lorenzo make any moves, to kill him.
Alexis
informs Jason that she needs to leave and go see the girls and to stop by the
office. She meets with Dr. Lee in the hall and is told that if the medication
does not work, they are unable to operate because Sam could bleed to death.
Elizabeth
tells Jason that Patrick is on his way back to Port Charles and that if anyone
can save Sam that it will be Patrick.
Alexis
goes to see Sam. She finds out from Jason that Patrick is going to do surgery on
Sam to save her life. Alexis doesn't think it is a good idea and asks him who
told him that surgery was the answer for Sam. Jason tells her that Elizabeth
told him that Patrick could do this kind of risky surgery and save Sam. Alexis
doesn't think he should be getting medical advice from Elizabeth as well
intended as she is. She goes to speak to Patrick.
Alexis
overhears a heated argument between Patrick and Noah. Noah is against the
surgery and tries to convince Patrick how it will end up killing Sam. Alexis
asks Noah what the risks are for this type of surgery. Noah explains to her that
he believes that this surgery is too risky and that Sam will end up bleeding to
death on the operating table if Patrick does the surgery.
Jason
shows up and yells at Noah for trying to stop Patrick from doing the surgery.
Noah tells him that the surgery is too risky. Jason tells him that he needs to
stop interfering and let Patrick examine Sam first. Sonny shows up at the
hospital and runs into Jason. He advises Jason to follow his instincts and be
patient as well. He wishes Jason good things and offers to pray for Sam. Jason
thanks him for coming by.
Alexis
goes back to Sam's room to persuade Jason not to allow them to do the surgery.
Jason is sick of waiting for Sam to get better and wants something done now.
Alexis tells him that Patrick just lost a patient by doing a risky surgery and
that he wants to prove himself. Jason isn't sure what to do but when Patrick
comes in and starts to give orders to the nurses to prep Sam for surgery. Alexis
pleads with Jason to give the medicine a chance to work first. Jason signs the
consent forms and they get ready to bring Sam into the O.R.
Jason
takes Sam's engagement ring off of her before her surgery and tells her he loves
her. He waits and worries about whether he is making the right decision or not.
Alexis shows up at the operating room and interrupts Patrick just as he is ready
to start the surgery. She tells him she got a court injunction and that they
can't do the surgery on her daughter.
Ric
enters Sam's hospital room and asks Jason if Sam is in surgery. Ric informs
Jason that Alexis may be too late. Jason wondering what Alexis could be too late
for. Patrick informs Alexis that Jason did sign off on the procedure. Alexis
tells Patrick that it's not Jason's place, only she can sign off as the next of
kin. Patrick tells Alexis that Sam will die without the surgery, that the
information given to Alexis by Noah is wrong. Jason and Ric enter the emergency.
A frustrated Patrick calls off the surgery due to the operating room's
contamination. He tells Jason that he will operate once the injunction has been
lifted.
Alexis
and Jason are fighting over what measures to take to save Sam's life. Alexis
would like to give the medication a try and if it doesn't work, then go ahead
with the surgery. Jason would prefer the surgery immediately. Jason kisses Sam
and walks out on Alexis. Alexis prays that she is making the right decision and
doing right by Sam. Ric comforts Alexis. Ric tells her to go with her best
instinct and Alexis says that her gut tells her that Patrick has an agenda.
Jason
approaches Patrick and asks what he will need to pay in order for Patrick to do
the surgery. Patrick informs him that if he is willing to continue with the
surgery, that there is no need for the money. Patrick asks Elizabeth to assist
in the operating room only if she is still thinking that this is the right
approach that they should be taking. Elizabeth says that she has taken an oath
to save people and she will be there to help, regardless of the consequences.
Epiphany
comes into the room to take Sam for a CT scan. Alexis and Ric accompany Sam for
her test. Elizabeth tells Jason that Sam is on her way to the operating room.
Jason offers his gratitude, and tells Elizabeth that no matter what happens he
will make sure that she doesn't get any of the blame. She informs Jason that she
made the choice to assist, and she really feels that Patrick operating is the
best choice for Sam to live. Jason shows that he is a little uneasy, and
Elizabeth tells him that it's not too late to back out. Jason agrees that the
surgery is what Sam would want.
While
wheeling Sam to surgery, Patrick turns and asks if Jason is packing so that if
there are any questions Patrick can say that Jason held a gun to his head. Being
on the same page as Patrick, Jason informs him that if he doesn't do the surgery
he will shoot him. Jason leans down and asks Sam to come back to him. The nurses
wheel Sam into the operating room, where an upset Jason tells Sam that he loves
her through the door.
Later,
Alexis then enters the room where Sam is supposed to be getting her CT scan
done. Epiphany turns and tells her that she will let her know when it's fine to
enter. The patient lying on the table sits up and asks if it's her sister.
Alexis demands to know where her daughter is?
Patrick
informs his operating staff that they have very little time to get this done.
They begin the surgery. Elizabeth takes note of how bad Sam's condition really
is. An angry Alexis finds Jason in the hall just outside the operating room. She
promises Jason that should anything happen to Sam during the operation, she will
personally see to it that he is put away for murder.
Patrick
informs his operating staff that the procedure is almost completed. A very angry
Alexis is yelling at Jason for allowing the surgery to continue after she had
produced the injunction. There argument is cut short, when they begin to hear
beeping coming from the operating room. Alexis tells Jason that if Sam dies, it
will all be his fault.
Patrick
exits the operating room to inform Jason and Alexis that Sam has made it through
the surgery. He continues to tell them that it is too soon to tell if there will
be any brain damage, but she has a very good chance to live.
Mac
and Detective Rodriguez arrest Elizabeth, Epiphany, Jason and Patrick for
disobeying the injunction. Jason informs the police that he should be the only
arrested for this, and that they should let everyone go. Jason continues to say
that Patrick only performed the operation because Jason threatened him.
Elizabeth says that she was present when Jason threatened Patrick, and it only
happened because Patrick asked Jason if he was packing. Patrick confirms
Elizabeth's story.
Stan
arrives and attempts to bail his mother out, however Epiphany does not allow him
to. Lucky arrives at the PCPD to post Elizabeth's bail. Elizabeth thanks her
husband, but tells him that she is staying until everyone is released. Elizabeth
tells Jason and Epiphany that Alexis will drop the charges once she has calmed
down. Jason fears that his problems with Alexis are just about to begin.
Noah
tells Alexis that the surgery was probably the best thing for Sam. Alexis tells
Noah that she is confused by Noah's change of heart. She believes that Noah has
only changed his mind because of Patrick being arrested. Alexis continues to
inform him that all she wants for her daughter is to receive the best care
possible, free of any ulterior motives.
Alexis
dropped the charges against Patrick, Epiphany, Liz and Jason. While she did not
agree with the operation, she was not going to hold a grudge against them. At
that point, Alexis and Jason went into an interrogation room to talk, where,
Alexis said that she would be willing to overlook Jason's ways of handling
issues, if Alexis becomes 100% responsible for Sam's care.
Jason
became angry, stating that the only reason he had told her about Sam being her
daughter, was so that Sam and her could have a relationship before Sam died. He
reminded Alexis that she did not know Sam, and that Jason and Sam loved each
other. Alexis left the room, and asked Mac to hold Jason a little while longer
to give her a head start. When Jason tried to leave, Mac would did not allow
him, at which time Sonny came to the police station to ask why Jason could not
leave if the charges had been dropped. Mac sent both of them into the
interrogation room, stating that Jason would be able to leave when he said so,
because Mac was the police commissioner.
In
the interrogation room, Jason asked Sonny why he was there, after everything
Jason did to him. Sonny said that in a way he was appreciative of what Jason
took from him. That taking away the business had freed Sonny, and that in a way;
Jason's desire to protect Emily had caused Sam to get shot. Before leaving,
Sonny told Jason that he was sorry about Sam getting shot, and that he hoped
that she would get better. When Mac did allow Jason to leave, when he got to the
hospital, he found out that Alexis had taken Sam to another facility for
treatment, and that no one knew where she was.
Jason
slams into the D.A.'s office and demands that Alexis tell him where she stashed
his fiancée. Alexis reminds a fuming Jason how his dangerous trade has already
endangered her daughter for far too long. Emily points out to Jason how closely
Sam's situation mirrors her own.
Monica
shows up at Jason's place. She tells him she knows where Alexis transferred Sam.
She can't tell him where she is but wanted him to know that Sam is o.k. and she
is still unconscious. Jason thinks she can't or won't tell him because she
thinks he will put Sam in danger. Monica doesn't deny that is her main reason
but feels that as a mother she can empathize with Alexis wanting to protect her
daughter from danger. Jason thanks her for telling him about Sam. Monica leaves.
Jason
calls his computer tech guy Stan over. He asks Stan to go to the hospital and
hack into the computer files to find out where Alexis had Sam transferred to. He
warns Stan to be careful since his mother Epiphany works there. Carly shows up
at Jason's to ask him to intimidate someone for her. Jason starts to worry that
she is up to something dangerous again. She tells him it has to do with Jax.
Jason guesses that Jax is being blackmailed and asks her what Jax is trying to
keep secret? Carly tells him she can't tell him the secret and assures him that
she is not in any danger. Jason doesn't give her an answer but doesn't say no
either.
Stan
gets caught hacking into the computer files at the hospital by his mother.
Epiphany confronts him about what he is up to. She guesses that he is trying to
find out where Sam is so he can tell Jason where to find her. Stan calls Jason
to tell him where Sam is. Epiphany takes Stan's cell-phone away from him while
he is talking to Jason. She tells him that she wants to talk to Jason herself.
Later,
Alexis comes to see Jason at his home. She tells him that she had Sam
transferred back to the hospital like he wanted and that she wants something
from him in return. She asks him to keep Sam from being a target because of his
line of work.
Jason
enters Sam's hospital room to find a strange man standing over her. Slamming the
"orderly" into the wall, Jason discovers that it is one of Escobar's
men leaving him a message. The messenger informs Jason that Escobar will leave
his family alone, if Jason leaves Escobar's family alone.
Noah
informs Alexis and Jason that Sam's vitals are good. He mentions that there is
still no sign of her waking up, but it is still too soon to worry. Alexis tells
Jason that she would think it best if he would just leave. She proceeds to tell
him that she knows that Jason loves Sam, but that it is safer for Sam if he just
lets her go.
Noah
informs Jason and Alexis that Sam's monitors are activated and he thinks that
she is waking up. Alexis begins to talk to Sam and asks her if she knows her.
Sam tells her that Alexis is her mother and hopes that she is not angry about
having kept it a secret. Jason tells Sam that he was scared, but is so happy
that she came back to him. He says that he loves her and that she is his whole
world.
Sam
and Jason ask Alexis to go and find a doctor to inform them that she has
regained consciousness. Jason begins to tell Sam about her loss in blood, and
how Sonny, Elizabeth and Nik all gave their blood to help save her life. He
continues to talk to her, when Alexis walks through the door and tells them that
the nurses are looking for Dr. Drake. Sam asks why Dr. Drake is her physician
now, and not Dr. Lee? Jason informs Sam that there were complications and
Patrick had to perform brain surgery.
Patrick
informs all that Sam is on her way to making a full recovery. He then advises
Jason to be honest with Sam about everything that happened, as it will help Sam
from being disoriented. Knowing that he is unable to protect her from danger,
Jason tells Sam that he can no longer be with her. Sam pleads with him to stay,
but Jason ignores her pleas and walks out of her life. Alexis tries to comfort
her distraught daughter.
Jason
heads to the docks, where he finds Elizabeth sitting all alone. Jason tells
Elizabeth that he came down to the docks, as he had no place to go. An upset
Elizabeth tells Jason that she also had nowhere to go.
Liz tells Jason that part of
Lucky's frustration was that Jason was the one that saved her from Manny, and
not her husband. She continues that Lucky had been suspicious of her friendship
with Patrick and he thought that they were having an affair. She had gotten a
second job to help cover some of the medical bills that had piled up. Jason let
Liz know that he had left Sam, because his lifestyle was now too dangerous. Liz
tried to get him to understand that while his life was dangerous, that shutting
everyone out would also leave him alone. Jason said that it was a choice he had
to make.
At
the hospital, Alexis was trying to calm Sam down as Sam voiced her disbelief
that Jason had left her. Sam said that she was supposed to get married to Jason,
and could not believe that he would leave her. Alexis tried to explain that
Jason was doing this because he loved her, and because his life was too
dangerous. In trying to keep Sam calm, her nose started to bleed. When Patrick
came by, he told Alexis that the nosebleed was because she was agitated, and
whatever was the cause of the stress should be eliminated. As Jason and Liz
walked in, Jason overheard Sam's condition, and was visibly upset. He went to
Sam's room, but unwilling to go inside.
