Chapter 7: Protecting Love

"I need some ice cream, i hope there's some cookie dough here." She said talking to to herself as she walked to the kitchen and opened up the freezer. "Yeah." She pulled the ice cream out and headed back to the living room. She sat back on the window ledge and ate her favorite ice cream. Cookie dough ice cream always made her feel better. Luis just looked on, she certainly looked like she was enjoying herself with her ice cream. He watched her get up and go to the shelf with videos on it. He saw her smile, he was happy to see her smile.

Suddenly she turned around and saw Luis sitting there wearing only pajama bottoms. She dropped the tape she had in her hand. "Luis, you scared the hell out of me. How long have you been there?" She asked calming herself down. "Since you came out." Luis said smiling at her. The woman looked amazing in red, especially short red silk shorts and a matching camisole. "Why didn't you say something Luis?" She asked as she folded her arms across her chest. "I just wanted to see how long it would take you to realize I was her and it took quite a long time Sheridan."

"So what? I have alot of things on my mind." she said bending down to pick up the movie she had dropped, she placed it on the table. "Like what?" Luis asked, curious to know what she was thinking about. Sheridan was caught off guard by his question. "Ummm....nothing important. So what are you doing up?" Sheridan asked changing the subject. He smiled, 'must be something good.' he thought. "I was just getting ready to watch a movie." Luis said smirking. Sheridan became interested. "Oh yeah, what are you watching?" she said as she sat down on the couch with him only inches from him.

"The Faculty, have you ever seen it before?" "Nope, but I heard it was a scary movie. I'm going to bed, enjoy the movie." She got up and began to put her robe on when she heard Luis laughing. She turned around with her hands on her hips. "Something funny officer?" "Yeah, your afraid to watch it." "No I'm not, I'm just tired." "No your not tired, your afraid." Luis said grinning. "I am not." Sheridan threw back. "Prove it Ms. Crane, sit and watch the movie with me." Sheridan's eyes got huge for a moment but she quickly covered up.

"Fine." She turned to leave. "I knew it your afraid." he said gloating. "FYI officer I'm going to get something to eat. Do you want something?" "Some popcorn and a soda." he said smiling at her. She came back with popcorn, grapes for herself and soda for him. She took off her robe and sat down with her grapes. Luis got up and turned the lamp off to get the whole effect of the scary movie. 'Oh great Sheridan. What did you get yourself into.' she thought as the room went completely dark. She began munching on the grapes as Luis sat back down and pushed play on the remote.

Within the first ten minutes of the movie Sheridan was scared but she covered it up. the movie was scary from the very beginning. With each thing that scared Sheridan she scooted closer to Luis. Ny the middle of the movie Sheridan was holding onto Luis' arm. Luis knew she was scared but he also knew she wouldn't admit it or back down from the challenge. He removed his arm from her grasp and wrapped it around her shoulder. She froze for a moment but then she recovered and laid her head on his shoulder and laid her hand on his bare chest. Luis closed his eyes enjoying her touch. Sheridan felt so safe in Luis' arms but she knew she was always safe with him no matter what. As the movie winded down she was holding onto Luis more while Luis was fighting the urge to pin her down and kiss her.

The movie ended, Sheridan was relieved but a little reluctant to remove herself from his arms. She got up to pop her movie in. "What are we watching?" Luis asked as he kicked his feet up on the coffee table. "Well since I watched your movie, you can watch the movie I love." Sheridan said sweetly as she walked back to the chair sitting down beside him. "Oh yeah and what movie is that?" "Never Been Kissed" she said inches from his face. Luis and Sheridan held each other's gaze and then his eyes moved down to her lips. They looked so soft and red. Sheridan saw this and smiled, she turned her head towards the tv and pushed 'play.' Luis saw it and groaned. "Great, another chick flick."

"I"m gonna pretend I didn't hear that officer." she said not taking her eyes off the tv. "Besides it's funny as hell, maybe it'll lighten your grouchy mood." "I am not being a grouch, I'm..." Sheridan cut him off. "Ssshhh, I'm trying to watch a movie." Luis shut himself up he had no desire to start a fight with her, especially when they were getting along. Suddenly the phone rang. Sheridan reached across luis to get the phone. The closeness was getting to the both of them. "Hello." "Hi Sheridan, it's Ivy." "Hi Ivy. How are you doing?" "I'm doing great and you?" "Right now I'm good." "Is that because of Luis?" Ivy asked in a mischievous voice. Sheridan began blushing. "Ivy where do you get this stuff from?" Sheridan asked sitting up.

"Well Ethan told me about Luis being your bodyguard. I know you may not want him around alot but you do want him. I've seen you look at him. "Ivy why exactly did you call?" "Oh yea you have a dress fitting tomorrow afternoon." Sheridan groaned at the idea of a dress fitting. "Okay Ivy, I'll be there. Bye." "Bye Sheridan. Have fun with Luis." She hung up before Sheridan could say anything else. "That woman is crazy sometimes." Sheridan said to herself.

"What was that about?" Luis asked. "If you don't mind me asking." Luis added. "Of course it involves you." "Why does it involve me?" "Since you were so eager to be my bodyguard, I have a dress fitting tomorrow afternoon back in harmony for the wedding." "Oh great a bunch of women trying on dresses." Luis huffed. "FYI Luis it will just be you, me and Mrs. McClary." "Who's that?" "The woman who has fitted my dresses since I was a little girl, I haven't seen her in a long time. Ughh, I have to go pack all those bags back up. I'll see you in the morning, goodnight Luis." "Night Sheridan."
