Chapter 3: Desire

Chapter 3:

In the morning, Sheridan and Luis were still safely nestled in each other's arms, sound asleep. They never had been so happy in their life. It felt so good to hold onto each other. Sheridan was the first to wake up. At first, she didn't know where she was, but then, she felt two strong arms wrapped around her and remembered the events of last night. When she came to Luis after being attacked by Hank. She was still terrified that Hank was out their somewhere, probably looked for her. But she knew that she was safe. Luis wouldn't let anything happen to her.

Luis really seemed to care about her. Even though she almost cost him his career and his family's future by arresting him, he still was always there for her when she needed him. It felt so good to be in Luis's arms. She felt like she was in heaven. Sheridan suddenly became very thirsty. She was still a little bit weak, but she didn't want to disturb Luis. He looked so peaceful. She climbed out of the bed and made her way to the door. She had to hold onto the furniture for support. She finally got out of the room and made her way down to the kitchen.

**LUIS'S DREAM**

Luis is running in the pouring rain, trying to find Sheridan. Everything was dark and it was hard to see ten feet in front of him. He called out, "Sheridan. Sheridan, where are you?" "Luis. Help me." Sheridan voice cried out. "Where are you?" Luis called out. "I'm here. Please, don't let him hurt me. Please." Sheridan voice cried. Suddenly, Luis heard Sheridan scream. He stopped in his tracks and felt his heart sink. Suddenly, Hank appeared out of nowhere. "Going somewhere, Luis." "You bastard," Luis said as he lunged himself at Hank. Hank disappeared into thin air just before Luis could get to him. Hank's voice said, "You should have known better than to have crossed paths with me. Now, you will never see Sheridan again. Ha." Luis suddenly felt like the world was spinning faster and faster...

**REALITY**

Luis woke up in a cold sweat. He was in shock and breathing heavily. He looked around him and realized that Sheridan wasn't beside him. Luis began to panic again. He jumped out of bed and raced to the living room. Sheridan was walking through the living room to get back to the bedroom. She was having a little trouble walking because she was so weak. Suddenly, Luis came running into the living room. He stopped in his tracks and stared at Sheridan for a few minutes. "Sheridan," he cried as he ran to her and hugged her closed to him. Sheridan was really confused, but she didn't say anything.

She just hugged him back. A few tears fell from Luis's face and he squeezed her so hard, he was afraid he would hurt her. "Oh thank god," he whispered. He pulled back and cupped Sheridan's face in his hands. "Are you all right?" he said. Sheridan replied. "Yes, I'm fine. What's gotten into you?" Luis embraced her again and said, "Oh Sheridan. It was awful. I had a nightmare, and when I woke up, I thought you were in trouble and I... I just panicked. I..." Sheridan said, "Luis. I'm fine. I'm all right." Luis smiled with relief. After a few minutes, he pulled back from her and said, "What are doing down here anywhere? You shouldn't get out of bed. You're too weak to walk." Sheridan said, "I know. It's just that I woke up thirsty and I came down here to get some water."

"Well, you could have just woken me up. I would have gotten it for you." Luis said, rubbing her arms. "Well... you looked so peaceful. I didn't want to disturb you." Sheridan said. Luis said, "Sheridan. You need to stay in bed. You're too sore to do anything right now. You need to rest." "But Luis__." Before she could say anything, Luis scooped her into his arms and carried her to the bedroom. When they were inside, Luis walked over to the bed and set her down gently. Sheridan said, "Luis. I'm okay to get up. Really. I'll be fine." Sheridan tried to get up, but she fell and Luis caught her in his arms. "I don't think so," he said. They were in each other's arms as they laid back down. Luis's upper body was almost on top of Sheridan's. Their chests were pressed up against each other and their faces were inches apart. They stared deeply into each other's eyes and became lost in a different world. Luis leaned in closer...
