Chapter 1:
Sheridan’s cottage-
Sheridan sat on the couch thinking about Luis. ‘how could i have been so
stupid, Luis is just like all the rest, he
only wanted to use me to get back at my family. But it doesn’t make any
sense, it’s like Luis is two different people. I thought he really cared
about me, how could he be so cruel’ she thought, ‘why did he act so confused
though, like he didn’t know what was going on, i should have told him why i
slapped him...no i can’t, i can’t let him know how much he hurt me’ Her
eyes started to well up with tears as she recollected the first time her and
Luis met when she crashed into his police car, the tango they shared, their
date. She closed
her eyes and let the tears flow as she got to the memory of their kiss on
the wharf. “Damn you Luis” she said outloud. She got up off the couch to
get a tissue when suddenly their was a loud knock on the door. “who is
it?” she said walking to the door. “Sheridan, it’s me Ivy, i really need to
talk to you” Sheridan opened the door, “Ivy can this wait until tomorrow,
i’m really tired, i was just about to go to be” she said tiredly. “There’s
something youneed to know Sheridan” “Is something wrong?” Ivy hesitated for a
minute but continued. “Sheridan...you can
never tell Julian or Allister what I’m about to tell you...i’m only telling
you this because i don’t want you to go
through the same thing i went through...” “ Ivy what is it?” “It’s about
you and Luis” Sheridan was confused,
“About me and Luis?” “Yes, Luis didn’t use you...I over heard Julian
talking on the phone with your father
gloating over the success of their plan to destroy your relationship with
Luis, Allister hired an someone to impersonate Luis, the man you over heard
on the wharf last night wasn’t Luis, Sheridan. I confronted Julian about
it and i saw the mask the imposter was wearing, it’s in Julian’s desk.
Sheridan just stood their in shock, how
could her own father do this to her. “I have to go, i need to talk to Luis”
she said grabbing her keys. “Thank youfor telling me Ivy.”
Luis' house-
Luis walked into his bedroom, he just got came home after his shift at the
station. He was tired, he took a
shower and threw on a T-shirt and sweat pants. He got into bed but
couldn’t sleep, his thoughts kept drifting to
Sheridan. He didn’t want to admit he was hurting and that he was in love
with sheridan. ‘What happened to us
Sheridan...forget about her Luis, it’s over’ his thoughts turned into anger,
he grabbed his pillow and through it
across the room. “She’s driving me crazy, why can’t i get her out of my
mind” he said out loud and got out of bed.
He was walking to the kitchen to get something to drink when he heard
someone knocking, he glanced at the
clock, it was 1:00 a.m. “Who could that be at this hour”. Luis opened the
door and was suprised to see Sheridan
standing there. He stood there staring at her for a few moments. “Sheridan
what are you doing here” he finally
said. “Can i come in?” “Sure” he moved aside to let her in. They walked
into the living room, Luis could tell she
had been crying. “ Are you okay sheridan?”, he asked concerned. “No I’m
not...Luis i’m sorry...” “For what?”
“For slapping you, and for the way i’ve been acting” she said as a tear
escaped the corner of her eye. “You never
did tell me why you slapped me, i want to know what i did to make you so
angry with me Sheridan” Sheridan was
silent for a few a while, she didn’t know how to begin explaining to Luis
about the imposter. “Sheridan?”
Sheridan tried hard holding back the tears that were now starting to fill
her eyes again. “After we spoke on the
phone last night i decided to go back to the wharf to suprise you, but when
i got there i saw you talking on your cell
phone with someone, and you were saying how much you hated my family and
what a fun time you had using me
to get back at them...” “But i wasn’t even...” Luis interrupted
impatiently. “Luis just please let me finish...that’s
what i heard and that’s why i was so upset with you,” she continued sadly.
“Sheridan what are you saying, i would
never say those things, i would never use you, you know that!” “I know that
now Luis...The person i overheard
wasn’t you, it was someone my father hired to impersonate you, he was
wearing a mask to look like you” by now
tears were streaming down sheridan’s cheeks but she continued, “ I was meant
to overhear that phone
conversation, so i would think you were just using me.” Luis was in shock,
he didn’t know what to say. All he
wanted to do was kill Julian and Allister. He clenched his fists in anger
“that bastard, i’m gonna go over there
right now and make him pay!” “No Luis you can’t, just let it go!” “How can
i let this go sheridan, I can’t just let
them get away with this” “Luis please don’t, it’s only going to make things
worst, please just promise me you
won’t go over there, let me deal with this.” Sheridan started cry
uncontrollably, “how could my father do this to
me Luis, how could he” Luis felt horrible, he wished he could just make all
her pain go away. He couldn’t
understand how her own family could hurt her like this. He wrapped his arms
around her, all he could do was hold
her. Sheridan held on to Luis and sobbed in his arms, she was tired and
felt a sudden weakness in her knees. She
wrapped her arms around Luis’s neck as he carried her into his bedroom. Hey
layed down with her on the bed,
Sheridan rested her head on his chest and continued to cry. “It’s okay” he
said as he gently kissed her forehead. They fell asleep in eachother's arms.

Chapter 2:
Next Morning-
Pilar walked out her front door and was surprised to see Sheridan’s car
parked in the driveway. ‘what’s Sheridan’s car doing here’ she thought, she
headed back into the house to ask Luis about it. “Luis?” she called
entering his room. Pilar was taken by surprise when she saw Sheridan and
Luis asleep in eachother’s arms. ‘What’s going on I thought Luis and
Sheridan were angry at eachother,’ Pilar was puzzled, ‘....I’ll just talk
to Luis later, I’m already getting late for work.’ She walked out closing
the door slowly behind her being careful not to disturb them.
Two hours later Sheridan slowly opened her eyes. She tensed up at first
noticing their close embrace. Sheridan softly sighed and relaxed, it felt
right being in his arms, she felt warm and comfortable. Sheridan rested her
head next to his and watching him sleep. ‘God he’s gorgeous’ she
thought to herself. A smile formed on her lips as she thought about all the
times Luis was there when she needed him, especially now. She gently traced
his jaw with her finger, finally stopping at his chin. Luis’s eyes suddenly
shot open and he found himself staring right into Sheridan’s beautiful eyes.
He was captured by her beauty, she always had an enchanting effect on him.
They lay there just staring for a while. There’s that look again,
Sheridan thought, the one that made her week in the knees every time Luis
looked into her eyes. He made her feel things she never felt before. Luis
was experiencing the same feelings, all he wanted to do at that moment was
kiss her soft perfect lips. He leaned forward and lowered his lips to meet
her’s. Sheridan felt the butterflies in her stomach and closed her eyes as
Luis’ mouth inched towards her own. A shiver ran up her spin as their lips
finally met. Just then they were rudely interrupted by a loud ringing
noise. They both stared at the ringing telephone on the night stand, then
back at eachother. Luis let out a sigh of disappointment, “I better get
that.” Sheridan broke their gaze and looked away embarrassed.
Luis reluctantly removed his hand from her waist and got out of bed to
answer the call. Meanwhile Sheridan slowly lifted herself up and sat on the
bed staring into space. Luis watched her as he spoke to Sam on the phone.
She was so lost in thought that she didn’t notice Luis hang up, he sat down
in front of her on the bed. She looked up startled. “Are you alright?” he
asked concerned. “Huh?...oh yeah..I’m fine” she said looking nervously
around the room. “Are you sure, you seemed really distracted” Sheridan
looked down, sadly. “I’m fine, I just have allot on my mind right
now..” Sheridan caught his gaze again, “ I’m sorry I hurt you, I didn’t mean
what I said at at the Youth Center about using you too...I was embarrassed
and angry when I thought I heard you say those things on the wharf..”
“Don’t worry about it,” Luis said casually. “I didn’t want to believe it,
in my heart I knew you would never use me, but I just couldn’t deny what I
saw and heard on the wharf that night...” “I know...I just can’t believe
your father would do something like that” “I know...” Sheridan looked away,
her eyes were starting to well up with tears. “I’m sorry I didn’t
mean to upset you” Luis caressed her cheek soothingly. “You didn’t...I
should go now” Sheridan stood up followed by Luis. “I need to go have a
talk with my brother” she said bitterly. “I’m coming with you, I just want
to get my hands around his neck..” Sheridan noticed Luis getting angry again, “
No you can’t...this is something I need to do myself Luis, let me handle it”
“But this concerns me too Sheridan, I can’t just let him get away with this!”
“Luis please, this is between me and my family,” she pleaded. After
reluctantly agreed, “Alright, Ill leave it alone...for now” he added.
“Thank you”
she said with a faint smile, “I’ll see you later at the Youth Center” “Okay”

Chapter 3:
Sheridan went home and took a quick shower before heading to the mansion.
She walked out of her bedroom and noticed the plaque Luis had given her
lying on the floor. She picked it up and stared at it for a while. This
time when she read it she knew Luis meant every word that was written on the
Plaque, she smiled and hugged the plaque close to her. She would cherish it
forever.
Crane Mansion-
Sheridan walked into Julian’s study and slammed the door
behind her. Julian was pouring himself a drink, “ Sheridan, what brings you
here?”“You bastard, I know what you did!” Julian had a look of panic on his
face but quickly regained his composure. “Sheridan what on earth are you
talking about, shouldn’t you be preparing to go to Paris soon?” He tried
changing the subject.
“I’m not going anywhere” She sneered. Sheridan started towards Julian’s
desk. “Sheridan wh...what are you doing, I keep my personal files in
there!” He tried to stop her. Sheridan flung open the top drawer grabbed
the mask. She held it up for a moment before throwing it at Julian. Julian
stood there in shock.
“What ever Ivy has been telling you isn’t true” Julian blurted.
“Ivy?..What does she have to do with this?” Sheridan didn’t want Julian to
find out that Ivy told her about the impostor.
“How dare you, how dare you interfere in my love life” Julian was silent
for a while trying to come up with an excuse but it was no use. “Cat got you
tongue Julian” “How did you know the mask was in my drawer?” he asked
curiously. “It doesn’t matter how I found it?”
“If Ivy didn’t tell you, then who did?” “If you must know I found it
myself, you didn’t exactly do a good job of hiding it. I left my keys here
the last time we spoke, I came back to find it but couldn’t so I thought one
of the maids must have put it in your desk. So I searched your drawers, and
what do I find to my surprise, a mask of Luis’s face” She smirked.
“You didn’t tell Luis did you?” “I did, I told him everything and your lucky
he didn’t come here and rip your head off” Julian had fear written all over
his face, he took out his handkerchief and wiped the sweat on his forehead,
trying to stay calm.“I assure you Sheridan, it was all father’s idea”
“Stop trying to worm your way out of this Julian, I can’t believe I’m even
related to you, your scum!”
“ I warned you to stop seeing officer Lopez-Fitzerald but you didn’t listen,
you knew there would be consequences for going against father...we did it
for your own good”
“I can’t believe your trying to justify what you and father tried to do,”
Sheridan exclaimed, “you don’t care about me, all you care about is money
and power...there’s something more to this, why would you go to such extreme
lengths to keep Luis and I apart, what are you hiding?”
“I don’t know what your talking about” Julian said calmly.
“It doesn’t matter, I’ll find out sooner or later anyway” Sheridan starting
walking out, she stopped at the doorway and looked back at Julian.
“You know Julian, if you were smart you would have gotten rid of the mask,
just wait until father finds out you screwed up his plan” Sheridan remarked
smugly before leaving.
Julian just stood there for a while. “Father’s going to be furious!” He
looked around the room nervously rubbing his forehead until his eyes finally
settled on the bottle of brandy, “I need a drink, I’ll deal with father later”

Chapter 4:
Youth Center-
Luis sat at his desk doing some paper work. He looked at his watch for what seemed like the millionth time.
“Sheridan should have been her by now.” Just then he heard someone come in. “That must be her,” he said
rushing into the hall. “Hi” Sheridan smiled sweetly. “hey...so how did it go with your brother?” Sheridan sighed deeply. “Well he tried to cover the whole thing up until I pulled out the mask from his desk and showed it to him...he admitted the whole scheme, well not before trying to blame everything on father...It took all I had not to strangle him...I haven’t talked to my father yet, I couldn’t get a hold of him...I’m too angry to talk to him right now anyway.

I can’t believe how naive I’ve been, I can’t believe I let
myself be manipulated by them.”
Luis could
tell Sheridan was getting upset again, her voice was shaky and her eyes were filled with tears. Luis could only imagine what she must be feeling right now being deceived by her own family. “You know we don’t have to talk about this right now” he said understandingly, “I can see how much it hurts you to talk about it.” Sheridan looked up and gave him a faint smile. “Come on,” Luis said as an idea popped into his head. He grabbed his jacked and headed out the door. “Where are we going?” “You’ll see when we get there.
There’s something I want to show you.” Sheridan gave Luis a suspicious smile and followed him out of the Youth Center. After driving for almost half an hour Luis finally pulled over along the side of the road. “Why are we stopping here?” she asked confused. They got out of the car. “We have to walk the rest of the way” Luis grabbed Sheridan’s hand and started walking away from the road. He lead her through some forestry, Sheridan could hear waves crashing in the distance. “Luis where are you taking me?” she laughed. “It’s a surprise, don’t worry we’re almost there” They finally arrived at a clearing on a cliff overlooking the ocean. Sheridan stood there in amazement, she was captivated by the beautiful scenery.
“We’re here...just in time to watch the sunset.” “Luis
it’s so beautiful up here...how did you find this place?” “I don’t know, I just ended up here one day” “So do you bring allot of girls up here?” She asked him as casually as possible trying not to seem inquisitive. Luis was captured by her alluring beauty, even when Sheridan turned on him and he didn’t know why, his heart still secretly longed to be with her.. “Actually your the first...I always come her to think and to get away from the world” Sheridan got the most intense feeling inside of her when Luis stared at her. She knew at that moment she was looking into the eyes of the man she had been waiting for her whole life, the man she was meant to be with, her one true love.”
Her eyes welled up with tears at the realization.
“Hey...what’s wrong?” Luis asked with concern. “Nothing...for once everything is perfect.” she said with a tearful smile. Sheridan turned around and stared at the sun setting in the distance. There was a chilly breeze, Luis noticed Sheridan shivering and wrapped is arms around her. She leaned back against his chest, she felt like her heart stopped when his warm cheek slightly brushed against hers. “I love being in you arms Luis...you always make me feel so safe,” she whispered. “I could hold you like this forever...” ‘I can’t believe I just said that,’
Luis thought to himself. Sheridan couldn’t believe it either, she wanted to wrap her arms around him and tell him how much she really loved him.
There wasa long silence as they watched the sun disappear into the ocean. Sheridan slowly turned around to face Luis. “Luis there’s something I have to tell you” she began in a soft voice. “What?” Sheridan felt her heart speed up and she felt the butterflies dancing in her stomach. She knew she had to confess her feelings for him now. Sheridan paused and looked down at the ground for a moment trying to find the right words to express her feelings for him but only one thing came to mind. She caught his gaze again. “Luis I...I Lo” Before Sheridan could finish her
sentence Luis’s cell phone began to ring. They were interrupted again. ‘Damn phone!’ They stood staring for a few moments.
The phone rang for the fifth time, Luis couldn’t ignore it, he was expecting an important call from the station. Luis let out a frustrated sigh. “I’m sorry I have to answer it.” Sheridan nodded and turned away, looking out at the ocean while Luis answered the call. Sheridan turned to him when he was done, “Is everything okay?” she asked. “Yeah, sorry about that...” “Don’t be” “That was the station, I have to go take care of something...you were about to tell me something?” “Oh...it’s not important...it can wait” “Are you sure?” “Yeah”Sheridan smiled.

Chapter 5:
Book Cafe-
Sheridan looked down at the cup of coffee on the table. She wanted more than anything to tell Luis how she really felt about him. For the first time she knew exactly what she wanted- and that was to be with Luis. Sheridan had been confused about her feelings for him before but everything was clear now. There was a deep endless passion between them that was always there ever since they first met, it was there
even when they fought and even when she thought he was using her. That same passion that was rekindled every
time they looked into eachother’s eyes. Luis walked into the book cafe and ordered himself a coffee still unnoticed by Sheridan.
He saw her sitting at the back end of the cafe. She didn’t realize he was there until he sat down in
front of her. Sheridan suddenly looked up and saw Luis smiling at her. “Luis...I..I didn’t even notice you come in.” “I know...what were you thinking about just now, you seemed a like million miles away” Sheridan blushed. “Nothing” There was a long silence as they sat there smiling at each other. Luis’s smile suddenly faded, he looked straight at her, remembering what he wanted to tell her. He placed his hand over hers gently caressing it. Sheridan felt a tingling sensation throughouther body from his gentle touching.
Meanwhile-
Hank entered the cafe and immediately spotted Sheridan and Luis. He saw Beth standing behind the counter
gawking at them. “Hey Beth” “Hi Hank...I thought Sheridan and Luis were angry with each other” she said
without taking her eyes off them. “I thought so too.” “Well they look pretty cossy together right now...do you see the way they’re looking at each other, Luis never looked at me that way” she said bitterly. “If you want Luis Beth make your move now, or you might lose him forever...tell him you love him” “I can’t, he doesn’t feel the same way about me” “You and Luis belong together Beth, are you going sit by and
let Sheridan take him away from you...look you want Luis and I want Sheridan, and I’m not going lose her to Luis.” “Your right Hank I have to tell
him that I still love him” Hank and Beth schemed a way for Beth to be alone with Luis.
Before Luis could begin Sheridan spoke, “Luis there’s something I need to tell you” “There’s something I need to tell you too Sheridan” She smiled, “ You go first” “I wanted to tell you before when we were on the cliff but I didn’t get a chance to...” “Tell me what?” “How I really feel about you...” “Hey buddy!” Hank said walking towards them. Sheridan and Luis stared at each other for a few moments disappointed that they were interrupted once again. Luis put on a fake smile, “hey hank” “Hi beautiful” Hank grinned at Sheridan. She noticed the annoyed look on Luis’s face.
“Hello Hank” Sheridan and Luis exchanged an uneasy glance, they felt really awkward all of the sudden. Hank raised his eyebrows. “Did I interrupt something?” “No...um..we were just talking” “Luis, Beth is at the Youth Center and she asked me to tell you to meet her there” “What is Beth doing
there at this hour?” “She needs to discuss something with you about the Youth Center, said it was important” Luis looked at Hank confused, “Okay I’ll go talk to her” He gave Sheridan an apologetic glance before leaving. “So I guess you and Luis are back on speaking terms” Hank said as he took Luis’s seat.
“You can say that” “Does this mean your not going back to Paris?” “No, I’ve decided to stay ” “So you
were leaving because of Luis...what happened between you two anyway?” “Actually it was all a big
misunderstanding” “What do you mean?” Sheridan wasn’t up to explaining the whole story to Hank. “It’s too
complicated...” “Well maybe you can explain it to me over dinner tonight, what do you say?” “Thanks Hank but I can’t tonight” “Well how about tomorrow night then?” Hank insisted. Sheridan felt bad for not being completely honest with Hank, she had to tell him that she didn’t think of him romantically.
“Hank your a really nice guy but I can’t see us being anything more than just friends, I’m sorry.” Sheridan got up before Hank had a chance to respond,
“I have to go, goodnight Hank” Hank sat there dumbfounded. “Goodnight Sheridan.” Sheridan walked out of the cafe and headed towards the Youth Center, she needed to tell him how she felt now before something else got in their way.

Chapter 6:
Meanwhile at the Youth Center-
Luis entered his office where Beth was waiting for him. “Hi Luis” Beth smiled sweetly. “Hey...Hank said you wanted to discuss something with me about the center.” “Well not exactly...That’s what I told Hank to tell you.” “Why?” “Because I needed to talk to you alone.” “Beth is something wrong?” Luis looked concerned. “Luis I have to tell you something and I’m just going to come out and say it” “What?” “Luis I’ve loved you ever since high school and I’ve never stopped loving you...when we broke up I understood because I thought we would end up together again one day and I waited for you...”
“Beth I never asked you to wait.” “I know but I thought we would have a future together and we probably would be together right now if Sheridan hadn’t come to town.” Beth said moving closer to him. Luis placed his hands on her shoulders. “Beth I don’t want to hurt you but what we had was over a long time ago.” “Your in love with Sheridan aren’t you?” Luis didn’t know how to respond he didn’t want
to hurt her. “Luis you loved me once and I know we can have that love again if you would just give us a chance.”
Beth moved even closer, she wrapped her arms around his neck and pulled him into a kiss. Before Luis could pull away from the her Sheridan walked in. He finally pushed her away. Sheridan felt like a knife had gone through her heart. Luis could see the pain in her eyes. “Sheridan this is not what your thinking” Sheridan didn’t want to hear it, she turned around and ran out of the Youth Center. “Sheridan wait!” Luis called out after her. Beth grabbed his arm. “Let her go Luis” “I can’t” He snatched his arm away and
ran after Sheridan.
In the parking lot Sheridan’s hands trembled as she tried to get her car door open. Her eyes were clouded with tears making it hard for her to see. She finally got the door open but a hand pushed it shut. “Luis what do you think your doing!” “Sheridan let me explain” “I don’t want to hear it, if you wanted to be with Beth why did you...” Sheridan caught herself before she could say anything more. “Why did I what?” “Nothing it doesn’t matter” She didn’t want to cry but couldn’t help it. She hastily wiped her tears from her eyes. Luis had to explain what happened to her. “Yes it does matter” Luis grabbed the keys, “Get in” “What?...give me back my keys Luis.” “No, get in the car, we are going to my house and we are going to
talk about this.” Sheridan stood there and glared at him angrily for a few moments, she finally walked around to the passenger side of the car and got in.
They didn’t say a word to each other the entire trip.
Lopez-Fitzerald House-
Sheridan and Luis walked into the living room. Sheridan had calmed down some what. “Where is everyone?” She asked. “They’re at a friends birthday party, they won’t be back for hours...Sheridan what you saw at the Youth Center wasn’t what it looked like, Beth kissed me and before I could...” Sheridan cut him off, “Well you kissed her back” “Why are you so quick to jump to conclusions, if you would just
big quiet and let me explain...” “There’s nothing to explain, you obviously still have strong feelings for
Beth.” “No I don’t...yeah I care about her but that’s it, I don’t love her Sheridan...I love you” Luis moved closer to her and stood in front of her.
“No matter how much I’ve tried to deny it to myself in the past I couldn’t because I could feel myself falling madly in love with you. I think I fell in love with you a long time ago Sheridan, it’s just taken me this long to realize how much you really mean to me.” His words touched the depth of her soul, Sheridan’s eyes filled with tears of happiness. “Oh Luis I love you too, I love you so much.” Luis leaned forward and
kissed her affectionately on the lips. He pulled back and gazed into her eyes. It was as if their eyes spoke for them, they wanted each other at that moment more than anything.
They suddenly became aware of all the feelings they had been suppressing ever since their first meeting-feelings that had been growing over the past few months and now intensifying with every passing
moment. They engaged in another passionate kiss that unleashed their deepest most intimate desires. She affected him in ways he never thought possible. Luis’s hand wandered up under her blouse, his touch on her bare skin awakened something in her. Never had she felt such yearning, such desire for someone. Luis made her feel emotions she always wanted to feel but was never able to.
They made their way into the bedroom and began
undressing each other. Luis’s hand moved up her back, he undid her bra and slipped it off her shoulders. Sheridan sighed deeply trying to catch her breath as Luis kissed her neck and shoulders. He then cupped her face and kissed her deeply. Sheridan and Luis were overcome with passion, their urges were becoming almost unbearable. They fell onto the bed, Sheridan on top of Luis. Her lips moved over his body. When she reached his mouth again Luis clasped her waist and flipped her onto her back.
She gasped. His hard muscular body collided with hers causing her body to heave. She moaned his name loudly. “Luis” Sheridan felt the most incredible thrills sweep through her. Luis felt her heart beating against his own when their bodies pressed against one anothers. And when they made love it was like nothing they ever experienced before, it was sensuous,
rapturous, and full of passion. They continued to make love all night long.
