April Showers Bring May Flowers
Chapter 8:
Luis stood there, comtemplating what Sheridan just said. "You killed my father?" he whispered. Those words broke Sheridan's heart, tears came down
her cheek as well as his. Sheridan and Luis sat there in the dark, not saying a word to eachother. Until Sheridan broke the silence, "Look, Luis I'm so sor--" Luis interrupted, "I can't believe you didn't tell me in New Mexico..." he said as he got up off the couch. Sheridan stood up too, "Luis, just let me ex--" "No, ok, I just need some time alone" he said as he walked to the door. "Luis, you can't go out there, its too dangerous." Sheridan says. Luis takes a deep breath, "Fine, I just need some time by
myself Sheridan." he said as he walked into the kitchen and sat on the floor. Sheridan knew he needed some space, so she went into her bedroom, laid down
and went under the covers.
**2 Hours Later**
Sheridan was fast asleep in her bed. Luis got up from the floor, he went into Sheridan's room and found her sleeping peacefully, with little tear stains on her cheek and pillow. He slowly bent down and kissed her on the forehead, 'I can't believe Sheridan Crane killed my father.' Luis thought. He paced her room, and found Sheridan's Journal. He opened it and read an entry. It was an entry dated while they were in New Mexico. 'I never knew she had a journal with her while we were in New Mexico.' Luis thought. He read some of it. It mainly said happy she was that maybe Martin is alive and she didn't kill him. And it also said something about dying if Luis ever found out. It wrote: "I could never live with myself if Luis found out about what happened." Luis was reading on when he heard a noise coming from outside the bedroom. It sounded like someone was breaking in the house.
Sheridan heard it to and she woke up. Luis quickly put the journal back and saw Sheridan wake up. He didn't feel like talking, but he needed to keep her safe. She still sensed the fact that he was mad at her, she then got up and was about to check out what was outside when Luis extended his arm out and whispered, "Don't go, I'll see what that was, I don't want you to get hurt." Sheridan closed her eyes, and nodded. Luis was just about to turn the corner leaving the room when Sheridan whispered, "Be Careful." Luis stopped but didn't turn around, and smiled. He then tip-toed outside and found 2 people dressed in all black, carrying guns, and looking around the cottage. They
were taking everything in sight, the TV, VCR, CD Player, Stereo, they even took the pictures off the wall. Luis was appalled by the sight. He wanted
to stop them so badly, but he knew that they were armed and dangerous and he wasn't. He couldn't put Sheridan's life in danger.
He then went back into her room and explained to her what he saw. Sheridan was in shock, "Oh my gosh, I gotta stop them..." Sheridan said as she was about to get up when Luis stopped her, "You can't go out there, its too dangerous. Plus, they have guns Sheridan, I can't let you get hurt." Sheridan took a deep breath,
"You can't keep protecting me Luis, when all I have done is hurt you." Luis closed his eyes, "Sheridan, you've done so much more." he said looking deep
into her blue eyes. Oh how much they each wanted to kiss each other. They were then interrupted by the sound of glass breaking. The two went into her
closet, locked the door and hoped that the burglers wouldn't go inside, find them, and kill them. They both sat in silence in fear of getting exposed and
they really had nothing to say to eachother because they were already not on good terms.
**1 1/2 hours later**
Luis was sleeping, leaning against the wall, because he hadn't got any sleep that night. Sheridan stayed up the whole time in fear and terror. Sheridan heard the door shut, she heard the robber's car being started and driving away. Sheridan then turned to Luis, looked at him, and at his deep dark chocolate eyes, she tapped him on the shoulder, "Luis wake up, they're gone." she said. Luis woke up, "Sheridan what's wrong?" he quickly asked. Sheridan smiled, "Nothing, they're gone, can we get out of here?"
Luis smiled, "Yeah." he said unlocking the door and both got out of the closet. It appeared that her room was untouched. They both walked outside. Luis got
some mittens and gloves from Sheridan's dresser, "Here wear these, we can't have our fingerprints on anything." he said. Sheridan smiled, "Yes Officer."
They both laughed as they looked around. Luis was looking for any clues that could lead to the suspects. Sheridan looked around, see what they took. They took basically everything electronic. Everything was gone. She then went to the table and found that the envelope that Alister sent was still there. She picked it up, it was unusually light.
She looked inside and nothing was in it. The robbers took it. "Dang." (Sorry don't cuss) Sheridan said to herself. Luis looked over and saw what she was holding. Sheridan knew she was in big trouble with Julian and Alister. She then got up and walked around. She stepped in some glass, she kneeled down and realized that the sound of the glass breaking that they both heard earlier, was the sound of the framed picture of Sheridan and her mom, falling to the ground, shattering the glass. Sheridan sat down and began to cry, knowing that everything she's worked for, is destroyed. Luis walked over and saw the picture. He felt so bad for what happened, he sat down next to her and extended his arms. Sheridan fell into his arms and cried.

Chapter 9:
Sheridan and Luis just sat there in silence. Sheridan was crying, "They had to do this didn't they? I don't care if they took everything, but why did they have to destroy the only piece of my mother?" she said to herself crying. Luis didn't know what to say. He's never seen Sheridan let her guard down and cry like this. "Sheridan..." Luis whispered. She looked up,
"Yea?" "Why don't you go lay down and I'll inspect the place for fingerprints, okay?" Sheirdan nodded, "I'm just gonna look around one more time to see what else they did okay?" Luis nodded as he helped her up off the floor, "Careful, there's a lot of broken glass." "Okay." she said tiptoing around.
She realized once again that the robbers took the information inside the envelope, "Oh my gosh, Father and Julian are going to kill me." Luis looked
over, "What happened?" "They're gone, the papers, about what happened that night in the mansion, the robbers are going to read them and connect
the Crane family to it, its going to be in all the tabloids tomorrow, I have to get out of here." she said running to her room and starting to pack.
Luis ran after her, "Sheridan, you can't run away from this." She started to yell in anger and frustration, "Luis, you do NOT understand, okay?
They will come after me for everything, the Crane name will be destroyed, the empire will fall, Ethan will have no heir to the throne, Ethan's life is going
to be ruined.
No Crane Industries, no job for Ethan. No Crane Industries, no Cannery--its going to go out of business. We own that place, we pay
the workers there, they will all lose their jobs, Harmony is going to go in ruins. Don't tell me I can't run away from this. They find out I did
this, they will kill me on the spot, This isn't like you're family Luis. Pilar isn't Alister, Miguel or Theresa aren't Julian, its different for you..." she said trailing off and finishing up packing. Luis didn't want to fight her now, he was still angry with her about her fathers death. "Sheridan, don't go quite yet okay? I just have to go to the station, file some papers in my father's case--"
Sheridan stopped him, "You're not going to arrest me are you?" she asked. Luis nodded, "Of course
not, I think I've arrested you one too many times." he smiled. Sheridan laughed, "Thank you Officer." she whispered. "Well, lemme go do that and then I'll meet you at my house so we can talk about this. You're totally safe at my house, Sheridan please, let me at least "try" to convince you to stay." Sheridan gave in, "Fine, but it won't work. I've set my mind on leaving, for good." she said walking to her bathroom, getting her little belongings.
Luis smiled, "Great, I'll go down, do what I have to do, and then have officers come up and seal the place, its a crime scene you know." Sheridan nodded, "Unfortuneately." She went to the other room to grab that picture of her and her mom, Luis stopped her, "Sheridan, I'm sorry, but you can't take that, its evidence, it may have some fingerprints on it." Sheridan nodded, "I understand." she said as she tried to break a smile. "K, meet me at my house in 1 hour? That'd give me enough time to do what I have to."
Sheridan nodded, "Sure." she said as Luis carefully walked out of her cottage. She looked around and grabbed her journal.
That journal had all her
secret thoughts on Luis, and how she felt about him truly. She took it, put it in her purse, grabbed her luggage bags and went to the Book Cafe. By this time, the storm had passed and the morning had come. She
arrived at the Book Cafe. She bumped into Chad. "Hey Chad, can I get a coffee?" "Sure Sheridan" he said handing her a coffee. No one else was in here
except her and Chad. "Well I'm off, my shift is over." Chad says. "Wait, no one is here Chad, can you stay? I really can't be alone all by myself right
now." Sheridan says. Chad nodded, "Aiight." he said cleaning up the place. "Beth is suppose to be her, where is she?" Chad asked himself.
**30 min. later**
Beth walks in the Book Cafe, "I'm SO sorry I'm late, I just--" she said as she saw a sad Sheridan sitting at a table. She nodded for Chad so he can leave and he did. She wanted to take this vulnerable Sheridan to her advantage. 'What can I do?' Beth wondered..until she devised up the
perfect plan to run Sheridan out of Luis' life.
She walked up to her table, "Sheridan, where's Luis?" she asks. Sheridan rolled her eyes, and put on a nice smile, "He had to go run some errunds." she said. Beth smiled, "Really because I just had a great
heart-to-heart talk with him before I came. That's why I was so late." Sheridan looked up puzzled as she took a big sip of her coffee. Beth sat herself down and sighed, "Oh my gosh Sheridan, you know what Luis said to me?
He said he loves me." Beth said with a dreamy look on her face. Sheridan quickly
spat out her coffee all over Beth, "WHAT?" she exclaimed. 'That must of been that 'thing' he said he had to do, he never mentioned the paperwork stuff after he said it.' Sheridan thought. Beth's expression changed as hot coffee was all over her, "Ew,
Sheridan.." "Oh I'm so sorry, I have to get out of here." Sheridan said running out of the cafe. Beth was all sticky and hot with coffee all over her.
"Gosh, what a brat, don't even bother to apologize." she said walking to the Ladies room to wash up.

Chapter 10:
Sheridan ran off. She couldn't go back to the cottage, the police could of already sealed the place up. But if Luis was with Beth instead of going to the station, it wouldn't be sealed. She reached the cottage and it was already sealed up with police tape. She was even more puzzled. She shook it off and went to the park. She sat down, started to feed the birds, and then decided to write in her journal.
(lets pretend its May, cuz its called April Showers bring May flowers) May 10th, Well this day couldn't be any worse. Luis totally hates me, he found
out that I killed Martin. Gosh, when I find a man I really care about, I have to go and screw it up. Maybe becoming a nun isn't half bad, I mean i'm
almost there, I'm never going to get the Prince Charming Guy.
He's furious with me.
But why can't I get him out of my mind. I think I can honestly say to myself that I'm in love with Luis. But by the time I find someone I can truly love, I go and mess everything up, now I have to run away from him, my life is a mess. Crane Industries can fall because of me, everything is crashing down all because of one stupid night. Why couldn't the robbers rob some other house? Now Beth tells me that Luis told her that he loves her. I thought Luis
and I had something, I guess I was fooled once again. I am better off not in Harmony, Luis doesn't love me, he loves Beth, I guess money really doesn't matter to him. She closed her Journal and decided to go to Pilar's anyways.
She couldn't stand Luis up like this, after what he's done for me. She went to
Pilar's but Luis wasn't there, but Miguel and Charity were. Miguel let her in, "Come in, Luis should be home really soon." "Thanks Miguel." She said
smiling looking at the happy couple. "I won't disrupt you, is you mom home?" "Yeah she's in the kitchen." Miguel says. "Great." she says walking in. "Sheridan honey." Pilar says giving her a seat, "What brings you by?" "Actually I came to see Luis, but I have to run soon." "Whats with all the bags Sheridan, are you going somewhere?" She nodded, "Yeah I am" "Where?" "I'm not sure" Sheridan says, "I'm just going to go to the airport and find an international flight that has an open seat, anywhere but here in
Harmony." Pilar was puzzled, "Sheridan why?"
"Because, I can't stay here, Luis
will explain it all, I have to run" she said checking her watch, "but first can I use your bathroom to wash up, my hands are sticky." she said remember her spitting coffee all over Beth and a grin came on her face. Pilar smiled, "of course." Sheridan finished using the bathroom, took her luggage accidentally
forgetting her purse and said good bye to Pilar, "I'm gonna miss you Pilar, you were like a mom to me, I will never forget you." she said starting to cry. "Sheridan, I still don't understand why you're leaving?" "Luis will explain it all to you, just ask him." she said running out to her car and driving away. It was too painful to stay and she didn't want to run into Luis just then.
*5 minutes Later*
Luis walks through the front door. By this time, Miguel and Charity went over to the wharf for a walk. Pilar comes out of her room, "Hijo." she says giving him a hug. "Mama, where's Sheridan, has she come by?" Pilar looked down, "Hijo, she left in a hurry just a couple minutes ago." "What?" Luis yells. He runs his hands through his hair, "I gotta go find her." "Hijo wait, what happened between you two? Why is she running away?" Luis nodded, "I'll explain this to you later Mama, right now I have to go." "Luis
wait, get your jacket in the kitchen, it might be cold." Pilar says. Luis runs inside the kitchen and next to his coat is Sheridan's purse. "What's this? She must of left it here." he said looking inside.
