Casting and Real-Life News...
On June 1, 2002, Roark posted on his message board at TooProud.com that he was not returning to Days in the near future. Roark says he is "open to the option, the show doesn't have room right now..."

Roark has been busy - starring in "Mr Deeds" with Adam Sandler and Winona Ryder. He gets his butt kicked by Adam's character in a restaurant scene. It was great to see Roark on screen with his smooth voice. :) Roark also has another project called "A View from the Top" which stars Academy Award winner, Gwyneth Paltrow, Mike Myers, Kelly Preston, Christina Applegate, and Rob Lowe.

Christie Clark is also preparing for her real-life wedding to a man she met in England. There are no plans for her character to return to the show.

A Return of Mike and Carrie?

The soap magazines are reporting a possible return of Mike and Carrie to Days of our Lives. Christie Clark and Roark Critchlow have both expressed interest in returning to the show, but it looks like it might be in 2002.

Are Mike and Carrie coming back to Salem?
Christie Clark (Carrie) and Roark Critchlow (Mike) are telling friends they'd welcome a return to Days of our Lives. The couple was last seen in 1999, when Mike returned to Salem and whisked Carrie away on a horse. In real life, Clark flew to London, where she studied acting at the Royal Academy. While in London, she fell in love with an English businessman. Clark returned to the States earlier this year. Recently, she became engaged to her Englishman. Her fiance is also in America and is starting a business in San Francisco, where the couple plans to live.

Meanwhile, Critchlow has been busy guest starring on such television series as Charmed and VIP. He also appears in two upcoming feature films: "A View From the Top," which stars Gwyneth Paltrow, and "Mr. Deeds," starring Adam Sandler.

"Ideally, they'd like to return to the show together," reveals an inside source. In executive producer Ken Corday's interview, he hints that some popular characters could be returning to DAYS in the new year. Though Corday hasn't offered any specific names, wouldn't it be wonderful to see Carrie and Mike continue their love story back in Salem? How would Sami and Austin feel?

Lucas back on Days -- Will Carrie and Mike follow?

Look out, Sami! Days of our Lives' Lucas is headed back to Salem. According to sources, Bryan R. Dattilo will resume the role he originated in 1993 early next year. Dattilo left Days last March after Lucas was injured in a fire at the Kirakis mansion. The character has been in a coma ever since.

In other Days casting news, on the heels of Christie Clark reportedly contracting producers about returning as Carrie Brady, Roark Critchlow (ex-Mike Horton) also wants to come back. "I started talking to people about five weeks ago to find out if they were interested," Critchlow reveals. "I wanted to see what the response would be to Mike and Carrie coming back as a couple. Mike and Carrie are in Israel, which would have unique implications right now. They could come back to Salem to be with their families, because things got too crazy there, or for whatever reason. It would be a chance, without being political, to be patriotic."

The actor adds, "When Christie and I left the show, we were asked to contact Days first if we wanted to come back to daytime. So that's what we've done."
